  • Day 24 – Japan – NFD 79.2kg

Much nicer looking up at 80kg instead of looking down at it!

I’m slowly eating my fruit laden oatmeal. Kind of late but I’ll probably only have a snack for lunch.

@michelinme – I wish I really knew my stuff. I only started really learning about nutrition a few years ago. I started learning a lot more about exercise about 7 years ago. Basically I’m trying to learn. 😉

    Day 24, Cornwall UK, FD

Keeping going with a fast day today. Its been too busy recently but now I’m looking at a long weekend with no obligations. Yeah! Will enjoy the garden I think.🌻

@sarahbob – hang in there! Hope you get better soon and get back into the swing of 5:2. Your baby sounds so lovely. Mine’s just become a teenager and is still my baby (much to his annoyance!).

Keep going everyone – only a week left!

    Day 24 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Good FD yesterday, slightly over 500, a quarter pound down this morning. Compared to last week’s whoosh-tastic week it’s back to inching slowly along.

@basyjames I concur with the relative ease of losing weight, however I also find it relatively easy to put the whole lot back on 😆!!! This WOL is the key

@ktcaroline I use stones, pounds, and kilos to measure my milestones….I will take anything ha ha. So when I was hovering around 60 kilos I wanted to get into the 50’s….now I am at the edge of 8 stone land and want to shift a couple more pound to get in there. It all works to inspire ☺️

@dingping So sorry about your necklace and hope it gets fixed soon. Also, if the house is not meant to be dont be heartbroken, something better is meant for you. A little story from my house hunting days. DH and I found our dream cottage on an acre of land in an historic and beauty part of Co Meath. The young couple selling had two children and another on the way so wanted a bigger home. We loved the stone cottage, and immediately offered the asking price. Nobody else was bidding against us. They refused. We upped our bid, they refused again, saying they had hoped to get X amount. We loved the cottage so much, that despite the misgivings that we were being played, we offered X and they finally accepted. Sale Agreed, deposit handed over, and then the legal stuff started to crunch in. Surveys found significant problems with the house and septic tanks etc which sellers were not prepared to negotiate on. THEN, the company my DH worked for closed suddenly and he was put on protective notice so we were going to have a problem finalising the mortgage. We were devastated. The sellers, very very sadly, lost their baby, and pulled out of the deal anyway. All very sad.
We were gutted to lose this dream cottage as the universe seemed to be conspiring to stop it going ahead. Two months later DH was in a well paid management position in another company, I saw an ad for a new house in a gorgeous village on a Thursday, by the Saturday we had bought it. Never have regretted it.

Long story …….but @dingping, as my mother always said, what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. Best of luck and do keep us updated. I guess you are living out what a lot of us have done or plan to do.

    Have a great Thursday 😄

    Day 24 – UK – Reading CD

I had a good FD yesterday. Not sure how many calories, but the scales showed a loss so I’m happy. And yes, @daffodil2010, it’s amazing how “getting in the next bracket” makes such a difference. Why are our minds wired up like that? I’m aiming for 60kg, but will no doubt be delighted if I can get to 59.anything. And gosh, what stories about houses – where you put down roots is so important. Onwards and downwards and have a good day everyone. Much needed rain here.

    Day 24, Finland, FD

Another beautiful day here, I hope we aren’t having our whole summers sunshine in one month. Starting 2 nightshifts tonight, again a mixed bag of FD and CD cos I can’t figure out the timing! At least that will reflect well on the scales coming to the end of the month.
I have just committed to playing floorball in the autumn, it is an inside version of hockey which is popular here. The kids are starting and one of my friends kids are in the same team, and she said their is a ladies team if I would like to join. So thought I would give it a go, I played hockey as a youngster so shouldn’t be too hard to pick up. Fitness might be a problem, but now I have all summer to get a start on!
I started Magnesium Oil yesterday. I am not sure I want from it….my bad sleeping I always put down to shift work. I have been having really freaky dreams, so if it can help with that then why not. But as I am probably low on magnesium, and in view of everyones glowing reports, I am giving it a try.
@ah-tee when writing responses I open up 2 pages, and have 1 open to the post i am writing, and just copy and paste as need be. I can’t remember everything so this works.
@sarahbob hope you feel better soon.

Starting pocket list for today, add your name if you are fasting today

    @kerryn73
    @cornish-jane

Have a great day everyone, and may the scales always be in your favour.

    Day 24, Amsterdam – FD

Started today’s FD wtih a breakfast of 1/2 grapefruit, kefir yoghurt and some non-gluten seed muesli thing which I stole from my partner (who is experiencing some definite gluten intolerant symptoms, unfortunately for him…). I wouldn’t usually eat breakfast but last night I went for dinner with a friend and was very disappointed with the caesar salad I ordered, so didn’t eat much, and woke up starving!

Anyway I hope that today goes well, as I’m hovering around my starting weight for the month and I need to crack this before my holiday in 3 weeks! Yikes!

Here’s the pocket list for today:

    Day 24 North Wales FD

Doing today’s fast with a hangover, not sure how successful I will be 😩

Here’s the pocket list for today:
    @kerryn73
    @cornish-jane
    @catch87
    @molij

    Have a good day everyone.

@dingping. I think a lot of people have had the experience of ‘losing’ a dream home for whatever reason, then when they are settled in their second best home, look back and think ‘ look how happy we are here, thank goodness we didn’t take the other place’. Being happy is usually about your state of mind, not necessarily getting the place of your dreams. I hope it works out. I can’t imagine what it takes to move to, say, another country. How do you decide?
Have just been in Italy for two weeks. It is carb central. I don’t care if I never see another piece of pasta, pizza, risotto or bread ever!!!! And where do all the lovely veg in the shops go to? Not restaurants, It seems.
So back on the wagon. Feel so full. Next fast day – Monday. H

    Day 24…NSW Australia…NFD
    6.30pm Thursday

Hi everyone, just checking in! Was to be a FD today – changed to tomorrow!

Enjoy whatever you are getting up to and bye for now!

    Day 24, London, UK, NFD.

After yesterdays’ strenuous boxing class I need a NFD today!!!!

@basyjames, just reading your post means I WILL be staying below TDEE for the weekend!!! I had started this fast-reward-binge-fast cycle in March/April, hopefully I’m back on the wagon now and heading to a healthy future relationship with food ………………….. including those refined carbs I CANNOT give up!!!!

@kaywesterman, a B2B is 2 FDs done “Back to Back”, or 3 B2B2B or 4 B2B2B2B …………………….. you get the idea!!! Congrats on not gaining THAT is the key to this WOL, navigating life without hurling ourselves off the wagon into a box of biscuits, bottle of wine, bag of winegums or family sized bag of crisps!!!!

@shinything the flaky skin is just hardened dead skin being shed (mostly on my feet), look at it as an easy & cheap alternative to a sugar or salt scrub!!!! And unless you have onion-like layers of the stuff (LOL!!!)), it’ll be a one time thing, then just slap on the moisturiser to maintain ………………. you don’t want to keep that dead skin do you?????

Good luck today guys, onward & downwards!!!!!

    Day 24…….Florida…..CD

Good FD yesterday……I think I’m getting used to the hungar pains again and learning to work with them. So, hopefully, I’ll be back where I was in no time.

    Let’s talk about nuts!

I see a lot of you are grazing through the nut farms. I’d like to tell you a true story not as a scare but just word of wisdom.
You see, I love almonds! Oh yummy almonds! They used to love me too……Then one day they started to hate me and for what ever reason they still do.
A few years ago, I got into the habit of snacking on almonds through out the day. A handful here and a handful there. This went on for months.
Well, one day, I grab a handful of almonds and headed off to work. I munched on them all the way to work. Not paying much attention, My arms started to itch. I had a handful of almonds for a morning snack and the itching grew to my face, belly and legs.
In just a few short hours, I looked like a little red pin cushion.
Well, a few Dr visits, a strict diet and one painful allergy test. I discovered the day almonds decided to hate me.
Now, I’ve never had a nut allergy before but apparently, I ate my way into it. From what the Dr. Said, is that because of my intake of them my body stopped having the ability to break them down, since I could not break them down my body, They became a foreign substance causing my immune system to over react….. Thus an allergic reaction.
So as it stands today, anything with almonds in it, even hand cream, extract…. sends my body into panic mode.
You’ll be surprised how much crap has almonds in it when you can’t have them.

So please everyone take care when eating nuts, be mindful of how much your eating and how your body is reacting.
    Eat them in moderation!

So that’s my story about nuts!

Now it’s time to be an adult!

I dream of living in a world where a chicken can cross the road and his motives are not questioned!

    Day 24 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 FD

2 black coffees so far today, undecided whether to go for a walk before or after brunch, maybe after as I’m not very hungry yet. Hope all my fellow Thursday fasters are having a good day and @molij keep going, from experience I know how tough FDs can be with a hangover.

    Day 24 USA (Illinois) NFD

Good FD yesterday. Managing pretty well at maintenance.

    Onward and downward.

    Day 24 – USA – NFD

Great FD yesterday, 428 cals. Still up and down with the same 3.5 lbs., but determined to meet my goal by the end of the month. After hearing about someone (@Rainbowsmile?) doing B2B2B with 800 calories each day, I wonder if that will kickstart me back down?

    Day 24 UK FD

After today there’s one more full week of 5:2 to the end of the month. I’m going to put my head down and keep going – it’s only a week, and I can take it a day at a time.

Yesterday I put my head down and made some good progress with the enormous piles of paper & project stuff, started late and worked too late but i’ll aim for better balance today. Still not written an actual To Do list but managed to organise my desk and my inbox, tackled some of the urgent or scary stuff and am beginning to understand what needs doing. I simply can’t believe the number of diverse projects I’ve committed to without noticing, but keeping going in faith. Amazing what a difference it makes to be sleeping well and not anxious. i’m determined to up this healthy selfcare – food, sleep, meditation and yoga – working hard on the process and letting go of the outcomes!

This morning I was still just under 11st/70kg/153lb despite my late night snack of oats, hazlenuts and raisins. I had a sudden yen not to go into a FD hungry and actually got out of bed at 11pm to make some late breakfast! Funnily enough, i didn’t sleep quite as well as previously…

Writing the shopping list today and suddenly realised how many of my old staples are either no longer staples or are being consumed in smaller quantities. My intake of fizzy water, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, salad, tofu, spinach, peas, carrots, yogurt, plant milk, spices and vegemite has gone up while coffee, cheese, oats, rice, peanut butter, raisins, honey, eggs, butter and quorn products have gone down. Jam, marmalade, manufactured gf carbs, sauces, baked beans have all disappeared. Overall I’m simply eating less, less dairy, more from scratch and generally more simply.

@bert1802 thank you for your nut warning! I’ve been eating pine nuts as tho they’re going out of fashion the last couple of days, and reintroduced oats, andthis morning my guts don’t know what’s hit them. Oats are OK as long as i don’t have them too often or in large quantities, pine nuts clearly aren’t meant to be eaten by the bag 🙁

@daffodil2010 i’m with you on counting all those milestones. Loving that the 60s in kg and the 10s in stone come together, next stop is the 140s in lbs… Small achievable goals keep me on track more easily than remembering the big picture, tho that’s good too

Hello everyone Healthy eating day, day 24

Just dropping in to say hello – I don’t want to say too much, as in previous occasions when I divulge how good I seem to be doing – I then go off the rails! I am taking a day at a time and so far so good – definitely a downward trend not to where I once was but am making my way back again. I have been able to say no to my favourite wine gums and fruit scones – to tell the truth I am scared to even try them in case it wakes the dragon shhhhh – it has been sleeping this month. I am trying conscientiously to eat supportive foods – kefir, live yogurt, plenty of salads with cider vinegar. I have been doing reasonable well on my fast days and keeping my calorie intake down. And…. I even turned a birthday bun into an apple and orange and didn’t feel at all hard done by. This cosmic shift in mindset is wonderful – long may it last but I have to make the most of it. I am back to playing squash – getting my ass whooped but I don’t care – I am working out and sweating, I hope to fit in a second game maybe but have also started my c25k runs again – finding it tougher and slower going than previously but I am doing it! I also enjoy my yoga – still very much a beginner but I enjoy it and have signed up for a yoga workshop in Galway – my OH is taking me away for the weekend but I am abandoning him most of Saturday while I attend yoga.

Sorry I have not been on much but find a walk at lunch time and earlier nights more beneficial than trying to catch up as much as I miss you all. @dingping this forum is a godsend for sharing what is going on in life – I remember when my son broke up with his girlfriend – this was the place I turned to for advice and hugs in equal measure.

Is anyone hosting the June challenge?

    Love to everyone x

    Day 24, Gozo, Malta, nfd

Michelineme my son has an exam right now and he says he’s not doing bad. I cut on nuts but had to overeat yesterday s fast day because I’m taking medication that required me to eat so not to have it on empty stomach. I’m still 🤕 sick.

Diana123 I hope you have a fabulous time before and during the wedding and that your dear brother can attend it.

Today I’ll keep within tdee. I weighted myself and I’m 67.1 kilos down by 0.8 kilos from last week.

Have a great Thursday everyone, onwards and downwards.

Accepting the fact that I have not lost 10lbs this month as I wanted per my goal. Gratitude that I have still lost a few lbs on Month 2 of my Fast Diet journey.

    Day 24 OREGON USA

@jrbcd44 – nice to hear ya ! We are in the Columbia Gorge, newly moved here from Eugene. I’ve loved several of the states I’ve lived in this past life, but Oregon has quickly become a top flight member of that little crowd. Moved here fm Montana in year 2007.

@redcyoteblue and @dykask – small world, indeed – just saw you and where you’re from. Gotta say, Montana is my Number One and probably always will be, no matter what other wonders. I’d hike around and literally know I was in Right Now Heaven, every time. Sometimes even in the car ha ha. East Fork Road in Sula and also Anaconda.

Regarding all of this — FD today and thought I’d put myself on Pocket List already (!). Thanks, @michelinme for telling me that 700 is OK for FD, Big Help : )

I do swim a mile a day, fast (usedta swim on a swim team so that’s real) – and that counts out at 375cals. I’d think that as long as I did that, I ought to be OK at 700, just like the TDEE goes up with daily exercise. Whaddyathink ?

    All best, all !

    Ah-tee

    Day 24 UK NFD

Still feeling ill but know that I am on the mend. Thank you for all the kind words, it really cheered me up.

Planning on having my second fast day of the week tomorrow.

Day 24 – SW WA USA – NFD

Okay in the interest of accountability, Monday’s LFD was great and according to plan, but Tues & Wed eating FDs were on the top side. Making it a mindful eating NFD today as there’s another retirement celebration after school today.

My mom’s 88th B-day was the 22nd and my dad’s 91st is today, the 24th. I gave them a birthday call as they live in southern BC. Looking forward to celebrating this Saturday as my son flies in to Portland and we’ll drive up to spend a few celebratory hours together.

@sarahbob – hopefully everyone will be healthy soon at your house. Being sick is no fun.

    Together we are stronger!

    Day 25…NSW Australia…FD
    (6.35am Friday)

All your recent posts have been educational and very inspiring! I really enjoy reading fellow 5:2’s ideas, self experiences and results – they all encourage me that it’s all doable, with success as a reward, if I’m prepared to be accountable, mindful and acknowledge that I can be a lot healthier, and weigh a lot less as time goes by – just have to be more disciplined!

I guess I’ve had times where I didn’t feel I’d ever get to a much lower weight – though I can imagine being a healthier, thinner self. Your stories all prove the desired end results are definitely possible – thank you each and everyone of you for sharing, much appreciated!

My Brother remains very unwell and its all so sad. He sees his Specialist at 8.30am this morning – so fingers crossed on his outcome! Thank you for his best wishes.

It’s a FD for me today – yesterday should have been but the local bakery was calling my name and I couldn’t resist! Chunky steak pie followed by a fruit cream bun. Did enjoy same whilst eating but not after – may need to detour around the bakery in future!

I wish you all a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and much happiness! We can do this!
    Bye for now!

    USA DAY 24 NFD

Just checking in! I’ve been having an incredibly busy week. I had a successful very controlled NFD and tomorrow I plan on having a highly controlled 500 calorie FD. Recently, I’ve become a stress eater, something I never did before, so I have to remedy that fast!! Wish everyone the best and to those who observe, have a very happy Memorial Day weekend!

@AnneMarylyn thanks for educating me on B2B.) Wow, some people do several in a row. I haven’t tried that.
@michelinme thanks for your encouragement. While overall I had a good trip back home, there was one day that was very hard and I could have given in and stuff my face but I worked hard not to fall into that negative behavior. I did allow myself to have some ice cream. 🙂
I’m glad to be back in our new home and now preparing for our first tropical storm. Life goes on.
    Everyone have a great evening.

Day 24 (just about still!) , UK, FD

I’ve been working all day so posting very late, but want to be accountable 🙂
FD went well today, ended under 500 cal. Lets see if scales move tomorrow!

Thanks for that explanation re MO @michelinme, appreciate it 😀

@daffodil2010 that is such a lovely story from your house hunting days, and your mum’s saying is so true 🙂

@molij I think I’d die if I was fasting with hangover 😲 , hope you are doing ok.

@flourbaby I don’t have any dead skin on my feet and that got me thinking what will happen if my skin starts flaking, could I make things worse? 🤔

Thats an interesting story about almonds @bert1802, I tend to eat quite a few nuts, and almost every day (apart from FD). I will think about what you said now and be more mindful when eating them. That could come under my general belief that we don’t have enough variety in our diets, and variety is so crucial 🙂

@anna6 sending you get well hugs 🤗

@shimmera don’t be too hard yourself and disappointed, small progress is still a progress 🙂 . Just keep going.

@arelkade wishing you a wonderful day as well ❤

Stay strong for the last week of May everyone 💪

2nd post … my FD weigh in was at 80.1kg …

My weight will probably be messed up over this weekend because of big schedule changes, mostly related to family events. I won’t be getting in a hard workout in on Saturday that I normally do. Might be good for my body to rest though.

Watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y67IbPGGHHA “UCTV – Obesity: Facts and Fictions”

A couple thoughts on information from the video.

Losing weight/fat is one thing, keeping it off is another and that is where most people fail. That is one of the reasons why I would rather struggle slowly with losing the weight and a more reasonable diet rather than quickly losing the weight on a starvation level diet. Currently I’m eating 14000 to 15000 calories a week. While it isn’t that high because of my two days of fasting, it is something I could probably maintain for many years. Anyway, that is just how I’m thinking.

Another interesting thing is older people are actually better off with a BMI a little above 25 when it comes to delaying the onset of diseases. That is especially true for people that are in good physical shape.

    Day 25, Emden Germany, FD

not time to sit behind a computer, weather too good to sit inside, too much too do. Hope everyone is fine.

    Day 25 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

We picked up our two year old granddaughter last evening for an overnight stay so it was a bit of rushing about and organisation…..so didn’t really eat until late, when it was just a bowl of oat bran porridge…….with a glass of white wine 😃 WHAT a pairing eh?? 😆

I would have wine with a boiled egg, me! 😉

Anyway, new low, just half a pound from 8 stone land, have not been here since the 90’s.

It’s a beautiful day, promises to be a warm sunny weekend, have a wonderful Friday everyone and keep on keeping on.

    Together we are stronger

Feeling pleased with myself as I’ve negotiated some days out which included some ‘all you can eat’ opportunities and made good choices. They weren’t FDs, but definitely feel the structure of 5:2 affects my state of mind, supports a positive relationship with food. I have always wanted to ‘stock up’ on food at meal times as part of my security. Being able to ‘let go’ and realise that a rumbling tummy does not turn me into a weakling, delirious and panicking about where the next meal is coming from is actually empowering! Also found that being on a FD, being tired and then watching Britain’s Best Home Cook with Mary ‘Bezzer’ Berry is the quickest way to fall off the straight and narrow! At least it was skinny popcorn….
Have lost 1 1/2 lbs after a mixed week. Feeling much more confident for the next week!

    Day 25 – UK – Reading – NFD

It’s Friday, yeah! Its been a good week – I’ve remembered why 5:2 is so effective. So the trick is to not undo all the good work over the long weekend. And wow, wow, wow @daffodil2010 – 50kg? You will blow away in the wind. Amazing result. Feeling inspired. Onwards and downwards.

    Day 25, Cornwall UK, NFD

Got through another Fast Day – no troubles! Weekly weigh-in shows 0.4kg down this week. Not a big loss but I’ll take it! And 1cm off my hips this week.

Down 1.4kg so far this month so have to have a good next week to reach my 2kg target. Its been a bit slower this month, mainly because I’ve spent long stretches of time in the car when I should be on my feet. And the beach restricts dogs off leads to before 9am and after 6pm in the summer and we just don’t go so much. Must write a timetable of when the tides are good at 6pm and then GO!

There’s been a lot of chat this month from the long-termers who are close-to and reaching their goals. In the past it seemed so far off for me – more of a dream/aspiration – than something I could actually do myself. Now I’m thinking I could actually get there! End of summer may deliver a healthy weight and Christmas may deliver a target weight. Still can’t quite believe it. Must stay focused, must stay focused, must stay focused…..

@borealis – I see you are VERY close behind me and catching up!

    Day 26 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Really good FD yesterday and this mornings weigh was at my goal weight of 133. I’m seeing fluctuations between 132 and 136 and now accepting that is normal. It seems I will need to continue with 2 FDs a week to maintain but I’m happy with that as it allows me to not have to count calories on 5 days a week 😊

    Happy Friday everyone!

    Day 25 London FD
    Day 24 CD

Many thanks for those that have shared their house moving stories and those that helped expand my thinking with observations and considerations and to those that have shown support that this forum is for more than just 5:2 talk, but about us and life, its been amazing to find all that support and advice at my finger tips. THANKS.

I’m obviously in a ‘funny mood’ at the moment, would have put it down to ‘time of the month’ a few years ago but those days are behind me! Emotionally a bit haywire at the mo, hence over reaction to necklace, probably house thing as well, cooked fish for OH the other night and now cant get rid of the smell despite getting rid of all packaging and cleaning everything and everywhere, can smell it even on my clothes! Doesn’t help mood and last night had a dream where I died! ? all psychological, is that possible?!!
Life generally seems a bit weird at the moment.

Positive thing is that I haven’t resorted to emotional eating, is this evidence of a mind shift?

@dykask, @ktcaroline, @borealis and @daffodil2010 – the ‘thought of being in another bracket’ is making me @michelinme ‘put my head down’ and sprint for a good finish in May.

@coda – pleased you have found your 5:2 and running mojo.

Round of applause to @daffodil2010 and @missybear. Fab and inspirational.

@annemarilyn – Happy b’day celebrations to your mum and dad , wow what fantastic genes you’ve inherited.

@arelkade – hope there were no swerves past the bakery and hope it was positive news for your brother. Best wishes.

Have a great positive day everyone.

Woke up this morning to the start of a cold…… my chest feels a bit heavy and I have a cough that wants to come…..So, today, I’m going to starve it with an FD. After work, I’m will be running and grabbing my old faithful, silverbotics and try to stay ahead of the worst of it.
Thank goodness for the holiday weekend, three solid days of rest and relaxation.

I don’t have much time this morning, we had a heck of a storm last night and knocked our electricity out, so I woke up a bit later than normal, so I must fly like the wind now!

I dream of living in a world where a chicken can cross the road and his motives are not questioned!

    Day 25 UK FD

Still feeling rubbish but I am determined to get through this fast day.

    Day 25 USA (Illinois) NFD

I still extol the praises of 5:2 to people I know — even though I am far from skinny, at least I have kept off the 35 pounds I lost. Too many new clothes I don’t want to “out grow!”

@bert1802 – hope your cold goes with the starvation.

    Onward and downward.

Day 25 North Canton OH final day of my 5 day b2b fasts.

Now of course this part is easy, it’s the NFD that I need to take control of; @flourbaby you are my focal point this weekend. I started the fast/reward-binge/fast cycle in January and for a while it did not seem to matter as I was able to maintain my happy weight doing so; then all of a sudden my body revolted and the weight began to creep up and stay on. So that was the kick in the pants that I needed to treat my body better.

Funny thing is I wasn’t hungry this week until yesterday evening when I felt a sharp pang of hunger; I tried to ignore it but finally caved and ate half of a small bag of baby carrots with 2 tablespoons of full fat Caesar dressing. I had a handful of peanuts, almonds and a small Fuji apple earlier in the day, all told stayed under 500 calories and slept like a baby.

I am feeling a bit hollow and light today, so I have already had a handful of almonds and coffee with creamer.

@bert1802 and @sarahbob hope you feel better soon.
@dingping, I would say that is evidence of a mind-shift, good for you 
@missybear and @daffodil2010 yay! Huge congrats!
@cornish-jane you can do it, absolutely
@arelkade my prayers and best wishes for your brother

@bert1802 your nuts story got me thinking and I believe I will start reducing my nut intake. I have been relying on nuts pretty heavily lately, because it keeps hunger at bay. But an allergic reaction I certainly do not want. I have a family history of nut allergies, so not trying to bring that on -warning noted!

Really enjoy the release of energy I get with sustained back to back fasts. In my experience they are hard to get into, but once you get past the first couple of days really worth it. During extended fasts, I usually have to wake OH up a couple times to help me dissipate all the pent up energy LOL.

Have a great weekend everyone, and I will see you on the other side

Thank you for adding me to Day 25 pocket list

    Day 25 OREGON USA

Good morning, all ( here, anyway it’s morning : )

Reading thru w coffee at bedside, before I go to swim 🏊‍♂️ in 10 minutes … feeling real good w 5/2 although again not died 700 cals yesterday – (altho this after abt 350 Apple phone measured cals out via one mile AM swim !) let’s see how savage drops – always slow when me : )

@bert1802 – what’s a silverbotic? Hope ur cold gets better quick. Where are u in FL ? I grew up in Miami from age 8 and still have fy in Melbourne and Miami.

    Oops – more later !

    Day 25, Gozo, Malta, nfd

ShinyThing thanks for your wishes. I still cough sometimes but I’m not so chesty anymore though I still have to take antibiotics until next Tuesday. So no alcohol during my nephew s wedding next Sunday.

Bert1802 I hope you’ll get better these three days.

I had a fish pie from our freezer and cooked it today. So my husband and I had it for lunch. My expecting daughter wanted a chicken wrap with avocado, lettuce and tomatoes and my son had two 200 grams beef burgers which I buy especially for him.

Have a great Friday everyone, onwards and downwards.

    Day 25 – USA – FD

Here we go again, folks! Another end of month rally – @cornish-jane, I feel the same way you do about seeing maintenance on the horizon…it’s hard to believe it may happen by the end of the summer or perhaps early fall. @coda, love your rebound and positive vibe, but frankly, we love you any old way! @annemarilyn, so happy for you to still have your parents – wish them a happy happy birthday for me! @songbirdme, I saw your picture and you are the perfect weight…remember our conversation about the deflated bits sagging and wrinkling when we lose too much, lol! @arelkade, really hope your brother is on the mend. @ah-tee, from what I remember in MM’s introduction to 5:2, we don’t deduct exercise from our calorie count for the day, and we calculate our TDEE for our goal weight, not current weight; that is, if you are a tracker. I track via My Fitness Pal. Hope this helps!

    Day 25 Oregon

Thanks, @metatauta, this is interesting and I have not heard before: “we calculate our TDEE for our goal weight, not current weight” Sounds good for maintenance, doesn’t it? I’ve used My Fitness Pal before, now using CalorieKing which seems to work real well from daily efficiency standpoint.

My earlier post was a bit snaggy in the typos ! Let’s try that again — Reading thru w coffee at bedside, before I go to swim 🏊‍♂️ in 10 minutes … feeling real good w 5/2 although again wound up with 700 cals yesterday – (altho this after abt 350 cals per Apple phone with my daily one mile swim !) let’s see how this goes, always a bit slow with me !

B2B fasts sound interesting, although if at 7-800 it sounds more like CD eating, no ? I’m wondering about maybe trying every other day as FD some time soon. That would be 3/4 alternating with 4/3 weeks and might actually be possible. At 500cals once I figure this one out, or even at 700cals. Anybody ever try anthing like this ?

    Best day today, everybody !!

    Day 25 UK CD

This morning’s weekly weigh in showed me up 3lbs since yesterday and right back at May’s starting weight. Also lost an inch from my bust this week and gained 0.5″ on my waist – all quite surprising as I’ve had a good week of successful FD and CDs. What a good thing I’m not subject to the tyranny of scales and numbers these days 🙂 Perhaps I’m in need of a high carb meal to preciptate a whoosh.

Head down today. I’ve still not written a To Do list but ploughing through & making progress, tho it’s either going to be a very late one tonight or I’ll be working tomorrow. Perhaps an earlier night and spend a chunk of Saturday working, then I can enjoy Monday’s bank holiday and be relaxed my mother comes to tea.

    Back to the grindstone…

    second post

@ah-tee last year I cycled alternate day fasts at TDEE with FD of 500 cal. It worked pretty well for some time. However, I found that I actually like the B2B2B FD at 500 calories better. When I do an extended B2B FD I may slip in a 700-800 calorie day on the 3rd day just to break things up, but that also depends on how I feel.

Day 25 – SW WA USA – NFD

Going to try to keep it mindful.

@coda – glad to hear you’re doing well.

@metatauta – I will pass along your greetings. I am blessed to still have my parents.

@anna6 – it sounds like you run a restaurant:) Lots of yummy food.

    Day 25, London, UK, FD

Unscheduled FD today, no surprise, the key to a successful FD is to keep busy ……….. idle hands and all that!!!

Anyway, I’ll try to catch-up later, when I’m not soooo busy!!

    Keep the faith people!!!!

    2nd post

Annemarilyn I have to cook to please my children but my husband and I are not fussy food eaters. My other two daughters eat either salads, fish or whatever is on offer too.

    Have a great evening.
