U.K. Evesham day 9 221lbs
B2B FD’s went fine, drank lots and chicken stir fry second day as per usual,Friday was cards night so bottle of rose a couple of beers,Indian and copious amounts of snacks and chocs, can’t complain at the 2lb loss especially as lost four days on the bike due to teeny weeny doctors procedure leaving me unable to ride. Fingers crossed the same for next week đ
Keep up all the good work with FD’s NFD’s or maintenance as the case might be folks đ X
Day 9 | Alaska | NFD
I am feeling really good, hopeful even. I feel like I’ve found something that may help me reach my goal. This isn’t a diet so much as a strategy. I had a successful fast day yesterday and have been really controlled so far today. Feeling empowered. I tend to be a binger and was afraid this WOL might trigger binging on NFD but it’s actually having the opposite effect – – I mean, it’s too early to tell for sure, as I’m only in my second week but I feel more satisfied with the food I eat and am eating more mindfully. I hope it continues cuz it feels damn good!
Good luck to all the pocketeers today!
Day 10 NFD country West Australia
Well! 2 good FDs and 2 well controlled NFDs rewarded by a gift from the Fat Fairy of 1.2 kgs!! Thanks a bunch.
Not a violent person normally but I feel like punching the living daylights out of said Fat Fairy!!
@songbirdme, thoughts and prayers are with you
@flourbaby, you made me laugh. Think we’ve all been there some time.
@fatrabbit, well done on 60 lbs down.

Day 10 US FD 3rd of b5b
I’ll be able to read more later.â¨đ
@coda and @pissupoosa I can see the benefit to just checking in. I think that would be fine. Like you said we are all able to keep track of our own NFD’s and FD’s. I think it would give the host more time to read posts and post if they would like.
Day 8, Mountaintop PA, FD
Day 9. Mountaintop PA, NFD
Day 10, Mountaintop PA, NFD
Always a positive start with a FD on Monday. Some hunger pains good for letting us know we are eating differently. My FD’s are just like all the days with less food. OK, surprise? No potato, less protein and a giant salad. Lots of fiber in salad and veggies. Next day you are so full of energy. Amazing.
Maintaining 1 lb below goal weight. Maybe a new goal? Holding tight at 149.5 lbs. For me that is stil a 26.7 BMI. It really is only numbers. We know how healthy we are with our daily lives.
Good Tuesday. Hiked 4 miles, played 9 holes of golf, enjoyed friendship at golf and will be CD before FD on Thursday
Eat less, gain more vitality. Makes me feel great!
Day 10 FD Brunei
Today’s fast has gone superbly so far. I have had two cans of coconut water (60 cals each) and that is it. I have a pot of veggie sticks for when I need it and an asparagus low-cal cup a soup (56 cals). So there should be enough cals for me to have some cauliflower rice (or courgette strips) and a bit of bolognaise sauce tonight. Then it’s an early night, maybe watching a bit of tv in bed with a soda water or roibos tea or maybe going straight to sleep.
Plan for tomorrow- modest breakfast (or carry on fasting if feel ok) and then sushi tea.
Have a great day ten everyone! đ
second half of post!
Not sure what happened to the rest of it, it read
@pissupoosa, stress less. We are a large and diverse group and all really appreciate what the leaders do keeping us all on track and recording etc. Like food, we can have it tomorrow or the next day or the day after .
@coda I agree re spreadsheet. I am happy with any sort of spreadsheet. đ¤đ
Hi all day 10 nfd uk co down
Weigh day today – will post later, if good news lol.
Well done @lola907 ride that wave as long as you can and take a tip from me. While you can have anything you want on a nfd don’t tempt fate by releasing a sugar dragon. They are so hard to lock away later. This can be a way of life, a natural rhythm of famine, feast. The way it should be before we were told to eat, eat, eat. Wonder who told us that?
@paulmarsh – I hope you know what you are doing? That seems very light for someone your height.
@lilymartin lol đ
@fatrabbit well done you.
Maybe my post from a previous challenge may be interesting to some.
Thought I would share a blog from mfp
Itâs late. Youâve just had a hell of a day juggling your job, kids, expectations and never really being able to step away from your inbox because you have a smartphone. You finally make it home after a 90-minute commute thatâs really only 25 minutes without traffic, open your fridge to a plethora of healthy green food choices and think:
âScrew it.â
Then you order a pizza.
This scenario, or one like it, plays out every week with people trying their best to change their health and fitness habits. No matter how motivated we are in the morning, we can get driven to the edge by life and lose touch with why weâre on this crazy journey in the first place. Or sometimes itâs frustration with what we perceive as a lack of results. But no matter what kind of ledge youâre on, there are ways to get back onto the path you started. Here are just a few that have worked for my clients.
Enjoy that pizza. No really. The choice was made. Now itâs time to move forward. So throw out those leftovers and get back on track as soon as possible. A few slices will not ruin your lifetime of health and fitness, but the longer you nurse that case of the âscrew its,â the longer you delay success. So enjoy the indulgence! And use this as an opportunity to learn how you can bounce back even faster.
Make a fallback plan. Almost every Thursday, my clients write their fallback plan for the weekend. While youâre in a good mood, before you come across the âscrew its,â sit down and think about what the minimum-minimum isâwhatâs the ONE THING you need to do to feel like youâre still on track? Is it eating vegetables? Drinking water between adult beverages? Doing 10 push-ups?
Be realistic. Any healthy choice is still moving forward. Now write down your fallback plan, or take a picture of it on your phone so youâll remember it just before the âscrew itsâ happen.
Ask yourself, âWhat have I done well? What have I learned?â Most of us get fixed on outcomes. Weight. Sizes. Results. But evidence from 40 years of motivation research has shown that focus on the process rather than the outcome leads to better results. So when youâre feeling discouraged, take an honest self-assessment. What have you learned? Whatâs gotten easier? And what are you doing well that will help you for a lifetime?
Remind yourself that no weight-loss journey is linear. Thereâs always plateaus. Always, always. Even for you. Yes, you. You will have plateaus. If I sound redundant itâs because no one thinks this applies to them. But the people who successfully lose weight and keep it off are the ones who keep going. Like Winston Churchill said, âIf youâre going through hell, keep going!â
Tell someone what youâre thinking. Eighty percent of my job is showing up and listening, which you donât really need training to do. Seek out a friend or a forum and let people know what youâre thinking. Most of the time just saying stuff out loud to people you know are sharing your struggle is enough to see things in a different light.
Remember that the average American gains a pound a year. So even maintaining your weight means youâre above average
Day 10 Newcastle UK NFD.
B2B fasting completed lots of liquids throughout the day and one main meal around 7/8 pm first time trying no food throughout my work day.
Wife’s not happy thinks it’s a bit extreme. Trying to explain it’s not just about weight loss but health benefits.
Have a great day everyone whatever your doing.
11.5 1/4 or 159.25 đ
Btw well done @okeydokey keep going. You have got this!
Day 10: Northumberland, UK: NFD
2nd day of B2B went well yesterday until all that leftover Easter egg started calling. Still, I can be proud of myself I didn’t make myself a glutton, just a few little pieces (and probably 150 calories) and left the rest for whenever the kids finally get round to it. So 500 cals and 650 cals I am quite happy with, and the weights and measures are still going in the right direction and I’m fitting comfortably into smaller clothes. đ
Planning NFD the rest of the week at the moment, but that may change. Tomorrow may be a FD as I’m on a training course all day and the lunch menu is not looking inspiring.
Enjoying catching up with every one’s posts. This thread is very busy so it does take a while. And I agree RE the spreadsheet, basic is fine, it’s the daily check in on the forum which I wanted to make me think more about this WOL and making it work long term for me. I can (and do) track everything else myself anyway.
Day 10 UK FD
Think I over ate yesterday…it was the yum yums I bought for my daughter. My other girl had had a very bad time at school and was an emotional wreck. I then wobble and have a glass of wine, which was not in my plan, oh well done now and today is new day!
Im armed with fizzy water and home made soup in the fridge for dinner tonight! Bring it on Thursady fasting WHOOP whoop!!
GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY X
Day 10, London, UK, FD
Thanks to all who offered encouragement regarding the (self-inflicted) weekend from hell, and for dragging me back onto the wagon. I have every faith in this WOL, I just need to continue with the brain-trainingâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ.. âOld dog, new tricksâ âŚ.Yada, Yada, Yada!!
Had a much needed and well controlled 23:1 FD yesterday. I felt so strong and empowered and in control, I think I messed up this weekend because I didnât have a plan in place, usually I set my meals out for the week in MFP and very rarely slip up, except this weekâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ Note to self â PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!!!!
I hope everyone is managing to stay controlled, whether a FD or NFD, complacency can lead to chasing after that wagon!!!!
@coda, I track my weight and food intake on a table, just to keep me honest and let me know what works or doesnât. Iâm not sure whether the spreadsheet is even necessary, I like knowing the number of starters and finishers, and the overall weightloss as a group, but I donât compare myself to anyone else, so I just glance at it after the challenge. Perhaps the spreadsheet allows people to see which system 5:2, 4:3 or B2B2B2Bs offers the greatest results in others and can help with plateaus etc.???
Good luck everyone, Keep the faith!!!
@coda what is this B2B2B2 ? Ive been wondering and thought I’d figure it out, but not so far!!
DAY 10 – UK – NFD
1/2 way thru’ my Cornish holiday….meant to bring scales, but left them in the kitchen!! Am trying to be sensible but am giving way to temptations…A bacon buttie overlooking the sea at Gorran Haven, then an ice cream whilst sat overlooking Mevagissy harbour yesterday (after a long coastal walk), but then overate again in the evening. Will just have to put in some extra f.d’s next week. Hoping to-day walking to St. Just will be a better eating day….I really am trying!!!!
Day 10 – UK – NFD
Checking in, @lola907, loving your thought process, I feel exactly the same, nice to look at this WOL as a strategy.
Day10 UK NFD
@coda. Thanks for the great post… very motivational… and very helpful when we feel we’ve failed in some way by eating a few more calories than we should! You are so right… it’s not the end of the world!
@PaulMarch .Please don’t think this is interfering but I agree with Coda, your BMI is only 17 which by WHO standards is underweight and can put you at risk of health problems every bit as much as being overweight can. Please please take care.
Had good FD yesterday and down another 0.3 Kg which makes my lightest for years at 65.9 Kg. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a 65 on the scales! Wearing clothes I actually wore when heavier!! Amazing how much better they look when they actually fit!! I’m also looking forward to being able to wear the stuff I bought which didn’t fit, but which I promised myself I’d get into soon! That time, hopefully, is fast ( pardon the pun) approaching. !!
Have a great day everyone!
@dunk..it’s when you do back to back fast days , either 2, 3 or more consecutive days!
@mia139
Thanks very much! Actually makes a lot of sense. Think I may end up this regime.
Day 10 – FIN – NFD
Day 9 – NFD
Supposedly the usual combo – a lack of sleep and stress – did it again for me – too much of the sweet stuff yesterday. First, I bought a bag of candy in the afternoon, and after dinner I indulged in cake once again (encouraged by other people’s example). I was even contemplating having another slice despite feeling very overly stuffed, but luckily I managed to control the urge. Aiming for a better day today, and as I plan to limit my candy intake overall, what I ate yesterday will have to be it for the entire week. There are healthier options to enjoy if my sweet tooth starts aching. I will probably also add a third FD this week – still contemplating on whether to try a B2B Thu-Fri or making Sat into the third day.
Thank you for your kind words, @at. My grandmother also told us that she will live on in us and our memories of her, and I do cherish the memories I have of her and the time we spent together.
@coda, great post and a reminder for all of us to not to beat ourselves up for every bad choice and instead focus on the good steps we’re taking towards improved health. Thank you for sharing.
Day 10, Belfast, NFD
@coda thanks for the post, very good advice. I succumbed to the white wine yesterday evening, and now I’m feeling a bit bad. But today is another day…and tomorrow is another FD đ
@jarbia – don’t beat yourself up!! Enjoy your holiday!! I’d love to be sitting beside the Cornish seaside eating an icecream!
Good luck everyone today
Day 10 – UK – NFD
The sun is shining today – spirits lifted.
@paulmarsh – unless there are typos in your statistics or you are still in your teens, then you are already classed as underweight. I hope you are okay.
Day 10- Scotland – FD
Yesterday I hate more than I should have done (lots of Brazil nuts and a delicious – and massive -florentine in the afternoon). But I didn’t eat the chocolates our friend brought for dinner. The problem now is that I have a open box do Lindor in my cupboard… I hope my husband will finish them soon!
@coda I really enjoyed the blog post you added. Thank you. I’ve just had my courgette, salad (no dressing) and a spoonful of bolognaise for tea. I think I’m on about 520 cals and cruising to an early night. Have a slight headache so I’ll have more water, although I have had a lot!
Day 10 – USA (Illinois – flying today) – NFD
Good control day (CD) yesterday despite nice luncheon out with daughter at Uncle Julios Mexican food. I had skipped any breakfast and then had a light supper. Maintaining my 160# goal quite well.
@coda – great post of excellent help for all of us on our WOL. I will remember “eat that pizza” and going through hell, “keep going.” Only gain 1 pound a year on average? I might have though Americans gain more than that per year. I know I did when not really watching all my caloric intake!
@keetseel – you made me laugh about your one hard boiled egg! What a thing to enjoy!
Hugs to everyone, and thank you for your kind sympathies as I fly today for my brother’s funeral in San Diego.
Day 10- Colorado USA- NFD
Yesterday ended up working in OR for 13 hours straight. So exhausted & frazzled, I hit Wendy’s drive-thru window on my way home. Wasn’t even particularly enjoying the French fries. But the salt (& comfort?) was good so I nearly licked the box.
Today was supposed to be my day off. But we’re having a bit of staffing emergency, so when my boss asked if I could come in to help get the day’s surgeries started, I foolishly agreed. Sucker!
Late last night I saw the assignments. He’s given me another 13-14 hour day!!! đ
“No good deed goes unpunished.”
So today I vow to not impulsively hit up Wendy’s for late night desperate fast food. Sigh.
Day 10 â UAE â FD (3nd b4b – one to go hey..:- )
@keetseel this is my 3rd day fasting. It is going well and normal. Fasting is easy for me as I am a Muslim and have been practicing fasting most of my life, at least during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is coming up at the end of the month, so I will start fasting from around May 27th for a month. Now, I am using fasting to control my diabetes and lose some weight and it is working pretty well, I lost around 13kg in the last 3 months.
Hi me again
Broke my fast with a nectarine, which looked nicer that it was, and some dulse. For those who don’t know dulse is dried seaweed. Not sure if it is just particular to Northern Ireland but like marmite you either like it or don’t – I love it and its a good source of iron, calcium, iodine, magnesium and other essential minerals, plus low in calories.
@pissupoosa – don’t worry about updating the spread sheet with details of fast days and non fast days – I think while it was interesting and each to their own if they have the time to do it, its a lot of work. We can have a roll call type of check so we know who has joined and who has completed the challenge. We can note the losers (meant with the best of intentions). Life can be very busy and I don’t want anyone to feel under pressure – we will just keep it simple.
@songbirdme – thinking of you as you say your final goodbyes to your brother x
@songbirdme, I hope it turns into a fabulous celebration of your brothers life.
By the way, Uncle Julios sounds like my kind of place, I would just need to remember the mantra…..’I must not hoover up ALL of the guacamole’…………….’I must not hoover up……….xx
Day 11….Florida…..FD
It’s so nice to be home and on a FD. Sorry, I was totally MIA, stayed at a home with no. Internet service,no cell service and no phone. I didn’t end up stay with my mom but at a friends cabinin the woods just because tension was so high for my mental health, I had to leave and stay another place. I tried to go to our cabin which happens to be about a 10 min ride from my friends but I get there because of the recent storm, I tried to get up the driveway, no such luck a tree fell block the drive and took out my driveway and electric pole.
I really wanted to stay at our cabin because it’s on top of the mountain, because I get cell and internet service compared to my friends who’s cabin is in a valley. But things worked out just fine. We only use our cabin a couple times a year but my friends rent theirs out, so it get a good cleaning every week. Plus, the cleaning lady comes in daily while your there and changes the sheets, gives you fresh towels, brings more wood etc.
I’m really thinking about renting our out like they do, so while the woods men were there getting the tree out of the driveway. I asked them to give me an estimate about getting our road more driveable, so people could get up there. You see our drive way is very narrow a hill on one side and a drop on the other side. So, it would cost nearly 30 thousand to put up a rail, cut back the trees and pour stone. Wow…. not gonna happen!
Oh well…… it was a thought!
Good thing is the tree fell on the state forest side, so it’s the electric company who has to fix it and it did cost me a dime! Although it won’t be fixed until the ground firmsback up. It rained and stormed the whole time I was there so everything is all soupy.
Well, I’m off, I have so much to do around the house before I have to head back to work tomorrow!
Chin up Princess…… your crown is slipping!
