  • Well done everyone on your losses … Amazon extra special hurrah for your loss, well done that’s a fantastic amount to remove well done You!

Congratulations Amazon!! Very happy for you, what an achievement!!

Well done Amazon! Breaking into the next stone, that must feel fantastic!!

Add 31 pounds for me, Jojo!

This is truly inspiring people, and just before another fast day too. I will take the image of the fat Goliath with me into tomorrow’s FD 🙂 Put me down for 35lbs jojo but I’m hoping by Friday it will be 37…Happy losing to all.

My local chemist is offering a ‘Full Lifestyle Assessment’ I think I will sign up because I am interested in my cholesterol reading now. My blood pressure was done last week and is down from 145/90 to 132/76 – not bad for an old gal. I know .i do enough exercise and have a healthy diet and stress free life, non smoker and minimal alcohol consumption so that just leaves the extra 3 stone I am still lugging around. Can’t imagine life without it?

I am off to buy some new scales, these kilogram ones don’t seem to move, I prefer digital ones.

Quite a few lbs being logged up here, go girls and boys!

    Thanks everyone 😛
I’m having a fasting cholesterol test tomorrow and am hoping that I don’t have to go back on medication.
I have hypertension and it was creeping up despite medication, but is is back down again to about the same as yours Jojo. I would love it to go down more so I can cut down the amount I need to take.
I need to replace my scales but I’ll buy a fancy set when I reach goal.
The gym was tough this morning, three days in a row is a bit too much too soon, but there is a bus strike tomorrow and I’m going out on Friday and I really wanted to do three sessions this week.
I was worried that I might have problems because I’ve done B2B fasts, but I feel fine apart from my tired legs.

Hi Amazon, I just finished a B2B fast and lost 1 kg. Last week I did the same and lost a kg also. I think I will try another one this Fri/Sat. With any luck I will loose another kg and finally be back to my pre xmas weight of 63 kgs!!! How do you find the B2Bs? I find the second day fairly easy, apart from watching my family dig into chocolate and nice things…..

I don’t have a problem if I’m busy, and as I live alone I don’t have to watch anyone else eating. This is day 3 of 4 B2B fasts, which has come about due to social commitments on Friday. I’ve been slacking a bit since New Year, so this week is a kick re-start!

OMG well done!! 4 b2b’s!!! Yes they are good for rebooting the system it seems!!

I haven’t succeeded yet, there is still tomorrow, and I might get up in the morning and decide that it is one fast too many.

    Good Evening All,
Just waiting for my daughter to arrive, coming for tea. Can’t wait to break my fast, feeling really hungry. I am keeping myself busy by knitting in every spare moment. I even took my knitting to bowls this afternoon. Got two more sponsors for my ‘big knit’ which is run by the local Rotary.

I am looking forward to Rock Choir tonight and in the morning then Nordic walking in the afternoon.

Amazon I go to the gym Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday( unless a social event)
The most important aspect is mixing up disciplines and sports for me. Keep variety in my life. Ribs feeling OK now so looking forward to getting back on track.

Wow we are certainly collecting lots of loss fat, maybe enough to make decent size elephant. Who knows how much a big one weighs.

15,000lbs for a large male African elephant.
I think we have a way to go yet 😆

Jojo, I think once I’ve been going to the gym for a few more weeks, three days in a row will be fine, but while I didn’t struggle today, my legs were very tired afterwards. They are fine now, and I’m hoping I’ll be OK tomorrow as I’ve got a big walk planned.
I am loving the challenge, and was inspired by a man I saw today who must have been at least 70. He hobbled in, climbed up onto one of the X-trainers and proceeded to do 30 minutes on it at a very fast pace! I can do 10 minutes max, at a rather sedentary rate, and I gave it a miss today and concentrated on the other machines.

    Ok jojo
The more I learn about fasting the more it becomes doable!
The more I learn about immune health the more I want to learn about fasting.
The more I look at water fasting to reach the dna repair mode the more I find it without excuses. Its in my doable thinking now.

Pve think of the x10 per pound as rounding up or down. Not spot on , but always a very close give or take 1. X9 if sedentary x11 if athletic… that’s going into more complicated and not scientific.

29,888 steps so far today 4 more hours to go.

Been seeing this in my head all night

    monday 1500 cal by 1pm
Tuesday 600 cal after 4pm till 9 pm
    Wednesday 1500 cal by 1pm
Thursday 600 cal after 4pm till 9 pm
    Friday 1500 cal by 1pm
saturday 600 cal after 4pm till 9 pm
sunday no more than 1500 cals

    7800 cals total
    that’s 4:3 nearly 2lbs calorie restriction for 2k bmr.
The 3 fasts are 27 hours long.
So im guessing that’s well into the dna repair environment mode. So im trying to work out the fast day 600 calories as the best foods for the dna repair nutrition, and the feed day 1500 calories for muscle exercise nutrition. And it must all be yummy and satiating enough to keep on keepin on. 7 apricots a 7 walnuts avocados. Oops wasn’tgoing to talk about the whole foods.
Intrigued by it , but can’t do it due to my current N.E.A.T. at work.

Good morning fellow fasters 🙂 what a lot going on whilst I sleep, lol 😆

The BP Jojo gave seems pretty good to my untutored eye. I must admit I’m pretty lucky in that I don’t take any type of medication, my BP is and always has been pretty good (highest 125/75 and lowest 115/65) and I’m not what I would call overly active, although I’m becoming more active the more I lose.

Starting to sleep better these days, was having an awful run of very restless sleep, feeling tired when I woke up, but these last couple of days I seem to be sleeping deeper and so find myself more rested when I wake up (so much so that sometimes I just want to turn over and go back to sleep but can’t do that until Saturday, lol).

    Chat more later 🙂

Samm, you are doing my head in with numbers! It’s like being back in algebra classes….my eyes just glaze over 🙁

Gosh, that’s a lot of lard you are collecting Jojo. Where are you going to store it? Will you put it in a glass box and exhibit it?

I once saw a demonstration of how much fat was in a meat pie with the lady spooning heaps of margarine into a bowl. It is an image I’ve never forgotten.

Amazon, don’t forget the premise behind this woe is to create the ups and downs of normal feast and famine. You do need to have the occasional day when you eat 😉 P

    Ha ha Purple.

I am going out on Friday with a friend, which will involve tea and cake, possibly for lunch 😉 although we do intend to walk it off. In the evening I’m going to my friend who lives across the road to watch the first Six Nations Tournament rugby match which is between Wales and England. She is Welsh.
It will involve much wine and food. Saturday may be a write off………..

Oh thank goodness! I didn’t want to see our Amazon woman disappear completely 😉
Enjoy your socialising. You have the right approach. 🙂 P

I love my food and wine far too much for that to happen.

Yep. Me too. No fast for me today, even though it’s Thursday. Meeting friends over a light lunch. Skip breakfast, veg salad for dinner. Any way you approach it, it IS empowering. 🙂 P

    44,344 steps
    Good night!

Sleep well SAMM, you deserve it 🙂

I will catch up with you all tomorrow .

Thegirls in the home found Dad on the floor with a pillow and his quilt on him yesterday . His hand was bruised and the back of his head . he can’t remember what happened but he was fine . I was on my way down to visit him today when they phoned and asked if i\ wanted to take him to A&E they know I would rather take him than maybe a nurse he doesn’t know too well . His hand was are bruised and swollen . They were so good with him in A&E and said nothing was broken and he really needed to rest it but Dad isn’t able to remember that . He is really failing but he is still happy and generally not in pain . I won’t be online much tonight as I am shattered and need to relax and maybe have an early night . he was waving quite happily out of the window xx

Poor old darling. Love and hugs to both of you Wee. P xx

Oh Wee, hugs to you, I understand how you’re feeling – take care dear Wee 🙁

Oh Wee that’s such a worry. I went through similar several times with my late husband, who was in a care home for eight years. It makes you feel so helpless. Thinking of you x

Jojo I will let you have my weight loss input on Friday – my weigh day after a lean week and two fasts 🙂

    Take care, Wee 🙂

Soo much caring in such a wee heart.

I know PVE the numbers thing . I wish I were at maintenance in just a few months. It’s all like a puzzle to me. I feel like I have two rock solid formula for 2lb a week and 1 formula for a 3lb fat attack week. But it’s not as simple as the same bat foods at the same bat time on the same bat station.I’m really trying to wrap my head around the health risk . If I understand my personalized health risks I’m 1 in 30,000 for not living to age 60 , but would like to adjust my lifestyle to 1 in 1 million of succumbing to age related diseases for another twenty years. 41lbs to go.
Not to mention I put the numbers here instead of Facebook because the eyes really glaze over there .
I don’t have Facebook anymore though. I do try to keep the word count under 500 words.

Most people going from a lifestyle of eating till feeling full three times a day with no exercise or counting of calories . That was me included. I feel very close to finding my WOL . There some big pieces of the puzzle for me personally that seem to crowd out simple calorie restriction… One day soon I feel I may be able to spell out the math in story problem of 500 words or less, but must include calorie restriction adequate nutrition, detox, fasting, exercise, anti infamation, anti cancer , DNA repair mode, strength training and satiation of 4 days a week. As well as a address gluten sensitivity and omega3 regimen while dealing with diabetes. My goal is to live long enough to see my daughter off to university in 6 years. My understanding is it is possible to change direction and reap benefits of improved diet and exercise starting at any age. So I’m trying to figure it out and apply it. I tried the starve thing it worked ! Although I hated it and I returned to pre loss weight several times. I don’t like ADF and it doesn’t like me! ADF having 180 fast days I find it more doable to only have 120 fast days, and tweaking the intake hours, nutrition choices , and exercise.

Gosh I do ramble on when I’m tired. Zzzzz

Oh dear, Wee, hope your Dad has a quick recovery. Sending cyber hugs your way, and glad he is in good spirits!

Now you are just showing off, SAMM!

Hi Wee, so sorry to hear about your dear Dads fall. Hopefully it was just a simple tumble and his bruises heal quickly. It sounds like you are more upset than he is, so lets hope he does not give you any more frights for a while. He does sound like such a darling, I am sure you inherited your lovely nature from him!

SAMM I would happily wager that you will be seeing your GRANDaughter off to university in 35 years! Your dedication to becoming healthier will be repaid in spades.

Jojo I cant wait to see how much our collective fat weighs! I think you should let the folks at 5:2 know how much they have influenced just one group on their website.

    Good morning Fast Trackers,
It’s a chilly grey day which matches my mood as my hip caused me much lost sleep last night. Plus I have to plan a visit to the dentist, back tooth aching with hot and cold, can’t ignore it anymore. Despise Dentists both from the pain and the bills associated with treatment.

On the positive side choir was great last night, real feel good factor, not conducive to sleep afterwards though. Had to come home and do needlework and sewing for three hours to calm down. My daughter will be pleased though, I took two pairs of work trousers in so they won’t fall off. She doesn’t fast much these days but she does four gym classes per week so maintains her size 10.

I am really fed up with this cold weather, all the layers of clothing, it’s so boring.

Wee, hugs to you and Dad.

Samm, I am convinced we are both on the right track. We shall see. Stay with me partner, we will get there with short eating window and nutritious foods, although your choices are a lot more whacky than mine, dried orange peel belongs in marmalade( sorry) ha ha seriously Samm you must burn loads of calories just thinking about you lifestyle choices. Are you doing any social sport apart from weights? What about starting some tennis with your daughter or maybe teaching a skipping class. You would have laughed at me trying to hula hoop last week, dropped it every second twist, bloody heavy hoop when it hits your ankle, bruised to buggery.

Nordic Walking today, hip or no hip pain. Looking forward to the X-ray results but fearful of them still not discovering what is causing the pain. I am certain they will suggest another set of anti inflammatorys and rest for three months. This is just not an option that I can accept, it will put me in a bad place both emotionally, physically and socially. Ah well, no point worrying.

Time to get going, dogs to walk before choir practise.

I definitely will need a visual cue for our lost pounds, maybe a baby elephant

Hope your day picks up Jojo. I KNOW you and Samm will achieve your goals. 🙂 P

    Morning all.

    Cold, grey, windy, sleet. Ugh!

Blood test, followed by shopping on a stomach that has’t even had a cup of tea, AND it’s my 4th B2B FD. I must be a masochist 🙂

Wee, sorry to hear about your Dad

Jojo, poor you, toothache is horrible, and sleepless nights are so frustrating 🙁

    Have a good day/evening everyone.

    Thanks PVE and Amazon,

You know me, never down for long

    Have a good day everyone

That’s what we love about you Jojo. 😉
Good luck with 4 in a row Amazon. P

Thanks Purple. I’ve had my blood test, braved the supermarket and am now enjoying a nice cuppa. The interesting thing is that I don’t feel any hungrier than usual. It really is mind over matter 🙂

    Yes, it totally is 🙂

    Hi all

Jojo – hope you’re feeling better and haven’t overdone things today.

Amazon – still on track – fantastic.

I’m on a fast day, having had two 1200 cal days since my fast on Monday. Feeling fine, and positive. Hopefully heading towards those size 12 trousers too.

Wee – I do hope your Dad is ok.

Samm – you should write a book!

Hope everyone is having a good day/evening. It’s gloomy and cold here, so a rare spot of ironing, I think – it always warms me up. I need to clear out the fridge – lots of up identifiable objects lurking – but perhaps not on a fast day…..

    Keep warm

    Smiffy x

Apologizing in advance for the whiny post to follow!

2-hour commute this morning, and it is snowing again! Not expected to amount to anything, but there is another major storm (foot-plus more snow) forecast for the weekend. Not sure where anyone is going to put it!!
Been on a bit of a carb-binge this week. I hate to admit it, but stress does get to me!
Between worrying about my mom, who is making slower-than-expected progress, and the tragic accidental death of a friend’s 19-year-old son (hit way too close to home for me), I have been in quite a state.

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Hi ply.
    Life’s a shit sometimes isn’t it.
If carbs help you to cope then so be it.
Sorry to hear that your Mum is having a tough time getting over her surgery, sometimes the body needs a bit longer than the experts predict.
As for your friends son, that is really tough, and nothing can be said to make it easier.
    Take care of yourself.

    Good Afternoon guys,

Ok so Nordic Walking in a snowstorm is both exhilarating and slightly mad. It was certainly a good work out. I am even more keen to persue this form of exercise to a trainers level. I think I could manage to do an hour a day in preparation. It is the only sport that will really get rid of those ‘bingo wings’ apart from weight training regimes.

Ply – yeah I have been on a carb fest this week, what can I say, boredom not worry like you. Thinking of you honey, good wishes to Mum.

Smithy and Amazon- well done both of you.

Off for my lifestyle check up tonight, dentist and doctor tomorrow which means I will miss my usual activities, that’s life! a friend has a birthday lunch so that will be nice.

Very busy weekend socially starting with a meal out tonight, there will have to be an extra fast next week.

My 4th day hasn’t gone according to plan and the total is going to be 800 calories, but less than 2,200 calories in 4 days is good enough for me.
The reason for this is that I didn’t have enough to do, not because I was hungry. Boredom is the enemy 🙁
I have managed to talk myself out of baking some bread, and going to the corner shop for a packet of crisps, so it could have been a whole lot worse.
Only another 6 hours until bedtime…………………..

    Amazon,
Yep with you on that one. Dogs just about to get an extra walk.
My mistake is not having any homemade soup left.
That’s my late night job tonight

    Hello All,
I scored 93/100 in my Lifestyle Review, highest one the practitioner has scored.
Cholesterol still not under 5, it was 5.79 but HDL was 1.75 which is the good cholesterol and it is recommended to be under 2.00. My higher cholesterol level is probably down to eating butter, prawns and eggs in higher than recommended weekly doses.

Also my score is effected by my being an ex smoker, albeit 30 years since I stopped.BMI 32.2 which is too high, no surprises there, 25 is within normal range.

Blood pressure was slightly high ( 3 taken) but I am a white coat syndrome candidate. 132/91, 148/94 and 134/86 erratic readings but still lower than they used to be. Resting heart rate 58, 64 and 55.

    Blood glucose 6.3

So all in all very pleased but I still have a way to go

Hi everyone. It must have been the week for carbs as I’ve overindulged with them too hence the scales weren’t happy today 😀 but overall the tape measure is down 2cm.

Ply not what I’d call a whiny post, just so sorry to hear that your mum’s recovery is slower than expected, so worrying isn’t it. It is devastating to hear when a young life is lost even more so when it’s someone’s child who is close to you. Many cyber hugs coming to you from me,

Jojo glad to hear all is starting to come good for you health wise too, along with all those great results in your check up.

Amazon totally agree mind over matter 😆

PVE, Bay, Wee, Smiffy, SAMM, RT, Nama and everyone else who’s posting … a big wave to you all Emoticon

Hello everyone. Our weight loss,me and OH,totals 40lbs,to add to the elephant!
Question…… IF this elephant is floating around somewhere where lots weight goes what if it suddenly crashes down, will it find its way back to where it came from????

Wee. Sorry to read about your Dad, hope he’s Ok.

Jojo. Hope your hip and tooth are feeling better.

Re.. pain killers, I have been trying to do without them because of the weight link, I get bad pain in my thumb joints and had been taking them at night. I think that actually I have been sleeping better without them!!! It’s strange isn’t it.

Why am I watching a TV program about food on a Fast Day??

    All the best. WN.

    WN, do you have arthritis?

I take glucosamine/chondroitin supplements which keep my thumbs virtually pain free.
I’ve been taking it for years, and I stopped taking it for a few months about 4 years ago and the pain returned. I started it again and within a couple of months the pain had gone again.
It doesn’t suit everyone but there are other supplements too such as Devils Claw and Krill extract. Much better than constantly taking pain killers.

PS, elephants are just like the rest of us, they only float in water 😉

Hi Amazon. Yes I have arthritis in both thumb joints. I have had both Trapezium bones removed as they had disintegrated but they are still painful. I do take Glucosamine daily but am not sure whether it is helpful or not.

They are talking about the amount of sugar in jars of pasta sauce on TV, it’s phenomenal,I can’t believe it!!

    WN.
