  • It’s hatred of anyone who is different. Friday prayers was a means of getting people who are different together as a target. Not terrorism, but hatred.

    Morning/evening all,

Dreadful news this morning from NZ.

    The world is going mad.

    Shocking News,
Especially bad in such a peaceful country.
Deepest sympathies for victims families and support to a devastated people.
    Evil is killing innocent people.
I hope they catch all the perpetrators

Well, it’s another weekend, and the forecast is appalling. Heavy rain, possibly snow, all day. I’ve been trapped at home this week by the wind and the rain, and am feeling the absence of exercise.

Fasting went well this week, but I know I’m overeating during the day on non-fast days. I think it’s a response to work being so full on! Hopefully when (if!) the weather improves I can take myself for a brisk 10 minute walk rather than to the cheese and nuts ๐Ÿ˜Š

I’m wondering whether a few days of disciplined OMAD/800 cals might help me get my **** in gear again.

    Morning,
Wet and windy here too, not enjoying dog walking too much. Sticking to the park perimeter to stay on my feet. Most of my exercise is dance class or indoor bowls at the moment so pretty limited in energy output but at least frequent. The outdoor pool has been shut due to the roof caving in on the next door Supermarket. Very crowded indoors canโ€™t really enjoy swimming lengths.

I am in control of eating at the moment, the daily weighing is helping.

I canโ€™t do 800 for 7 days a week but itโ€™s reasonable Monday to Friday.

    Morning/evening all,

    Happy,

Is that usual weather for this time of year? You must feel like a caged animal.

It’s not been wonderful here with strong winds and lots of rain every day but there have been a few sunny intervals and I’ve managed 3 big walks this week and rather enjoyed battling the wind. I’m just so happy to be able to walk that far again without any pain I want to go out every day, but I draw the line at walking when the wind is lashing the rain into my face.
I actually went out on Thursday and did several laps of my local park which is not very big but a good place to walk as one direction is uphill so one can really get the heart and lungs going if the wind is threatening to blow you over ๐Ÿ˜†

I’ve also been working out at home, doing my tried and trusty Elle McPherson routine which I can access via youtube on my new TV. It’s an hour long mix of aerobic and muscle strengthening and I really enjoy it.

I went to the cinema yesterday and when I got home realised I’d not had any pain at all in my knee or my hip so the answer is to keep exercising which is fine as I’m very motivated at the moment to do so. I’ve made the decision not to renew my gym membership which runs out on Monday as I’ve not been near the place this year and only went 3 times in the last 3 months of 2018. If I can stay motivated (and being pain free is huge) and continue to work out at home I may as well save the membership money and put it towards a holiday.

I saw Aftermath, which is set in Berlin in late 1945. It was a well made film and I enjoyed it, hardly an uplifting experience, but I’m finally going to see a Star is Born next week so I can (hopefully) come out of the cinema with a smile on my face.

Eating wise things have been going OK this week so I’m going to stick with fast 800 for the time being.

When I first started I was eating small meal at lunchtime and an early dinner but I was still having issues with snacking on nuts, cheese etc. Things are improving and I think it’s down to being able to exercise properly again and getting out in the fresh air every day, which has lifted my mood immensely.

I had half a block of paneer left over so I did a recipe search and dinner tonight will be paneer tikka masala ๐Ÿ˜€
Next week I’ll be trying out tofu recipes starting with roasted purple sprouting broccholi and tofu with miso dressing.

Have a good weekend everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

I feel really bad to report SA has turned on perfect weather for us. Paddling and even swimming; getting sunburnt bushwalking and climbing lighthouses. We’ve seen almost every form of wildlife, including an echidna and penguin, in the wild.
Eating has been surprisingly minimal as we self cater on local produce and are very busy. A couple of gastronomic events out, but wise, tasty choices. Minimal snacking and lots of coffee in our keepcups.
Back home has been thunderstorms and pouring rain. The garden will be watered and we avoided it, so far. ๐Ÿ˜‰ P

A new week and a new adventure the grand daughter was 3 yesterday and we had a small gathering at the local playground and whilst there was some cake there was 2 plentiful fruit platters grapes pineapple and water melon where the top choices from the kids and a savory grazing plate of assorted cold cuts ham corned beef some met wurst and kabana cheese olives sun-dried tomatoes pickled onions olives and the like a few crisp white wines and good afternoon and as you say Purple the SA weather is right on point. I got my 10600 steps in earlier this morning very foggy here today heading for a deliriously wonderful 31 deg top temp today have a great day now.
    Lets get our fast on.
    Peace RT

Sounds a great family event, RT. The weather was stunning in SA yesterday, wasn’t it? 31 and glorious in Adelaide. Sadly we have woken up to the reality of wet weather (and loads of washing) at home this morning. Sorry we can’t send some much needed rain your way now.
Monday, much needed, fast today. ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜

There is a full moon rising in our night sky, and I am thinking of all my dear cyber friends who will also be seeing this sight, on our autumn equinox. We are in the midst of a lovely spell of fine weather, such that I think I will have to water my pots tomorrow. All change next week, when the Antarctic winds head our way.

It’s now been nearly a week since the ghastly events of Christchurch, and it is wonderful how our community has come together to support the Muslim bereaved. 50 dead. And yet we are all the same under the skin, and all of our ancient ancestors came out of Africa, with skin darkened by the sun. There was just one perpetrator, Jo, a very twisted young man, who was able to arm himself to an extraordinary degree. Our gun laws have changed from today, and not before time. The only people needing multi-shot weapons are the hunters who are trying to combat the infestation of rabbits and possums, deer and wallaby, in various parts of the country.

Your family gathering sounds wonderful, RT. It’s times like these that remind us what is really important in life.

It’s another FD here, teeth cleaned to remove temptation before I head to bed. Sleep well, all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the full moon heads up, B. It’s finally clear skies here. I’ll look up and think about all we humans sharing the wonderful blue rock. P

    Morning/evening all,

It is officially the first day of spring here and we have a gentle breeze and some sunshine, which won’t last long as the forecast says cloudy all day.

Thursday already, where did the week go?

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hi Fast Trackers and Hello World (You All know Who You ARE) ๐Ÿ˜‰

My husband and I went through the McDonald’s driveway window and I gave the cashier a $5 bill.
Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her 25c.
She said, ‘you gave me too much money.’
I said, ‘Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar back.’
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.
I did so, and he handed me back the 25c, and said ‘We’re sorry but we donโ€™t do that kind of thing.’
The cashier then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the people at MacD’s.
We had to have the garage door repaired.
The repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a ‘large’ enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, ‘You need a 1/4 horsepower.’
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, ‘NOOO, it’s not. Four is larger than two.’
We haven’t used that repairman since…
I live in a semi rural area.
We recently had a new neighbor call the local city council office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road.
The reason: ‘Too many deers are being hit by cars out here! I don’t think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.’
    IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE.
My daughter went to a Mexican fast food and ordered a taco.
She asked the person behind the counter for ‘minimal lettuce.’
He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked,
‘Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?’
To which I replied, ‘If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?’
He smiled knowingly and nodded, ‘That’s why we ask.’
The pedestrian light on the corner beeps when it’s safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an ‘intellectually challenged’ co-worker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.
I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, ‘what on earth are blind people doing driving?!’
    She is a government employee…..
When my wife and I arrived at a car dealership to pick up our car after a
service, we were told the keys had been locked in it.
We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driverโ€™s side door.
As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.
โ€˜Hey,’ I announced to the technician, ‘its open!’
His reply, ‘I know. I already did that side.’
    STAY ALERT!
They walk among us, they breed, and they voteโ€ฆ….
Have A Happy Weekend All You beautiful Losers ๐Ÿ˜†
    Peace RT

You have hit the nail on the head with your comment, RT – they breed, and they vote. Evidence abounds to both facts around the world! Wry laughs, knowing these are all true comments. ๐Ÿ™‚

And they will be voting in our NSW State election this Saturday. Some of them are even candidates. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
    Have a good weekend. P

    Hi everyone,

    Another week gone already…โ€ฆ.

Thanks RT for your weekly does of humour ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜†

Exercise regime going well and I’m really enjoying it.

I was really busy on Monday and ended up only eating 500 calories but I’ve not fasted since. It has been a very busy time with lots of socialising including an Indian meal last night which was quite frankly disappointing and I could have done better myself. The company was great though so it wasn’t a waste of time.

I’ve just made a tofu and vegetable lasagne style dish of deliciousness (she says hopefully) which I’ll be surviving on over the weekend.
I’m fasting today and have decided to aim for 500 rather than 800. The fast 800 is difficult if one wants to go out to eat or have a drink or a slice of cake as it doesn’t leave much room for manoeuvre but it hasn’t been a waste of time as it has helped me to get used to eating less most days so I’m hoping I can take that forward and stay in control on non FDs.

I’m going on the Peoples Vote march tomorrow so will be out all day and away from temptation and weekend days have been particularly difficult for reasons I can’t quite understand especially as they are the same for me as any other day ๐Ÿค”

Have a good weekend everyone ๐Ÿ˜œ

Well itโ€™s been another mad busy working week. At least I donโ€™t get time to get bored!

Iโ€™ve fasted twice this week. Iโ€™ve been riding a long wave of complacency since Christmas, but Iโ€™ve got 2kg to lose to be back where I want so itโ€™s time to get serious.

I havenโ€™t changed the types of food I eat (still no added sugar, very little refined grains), so it is definitely portion sizes and snacking on non-fast days that I need to get under control. Not sure Iโ€™ve got the willpower to sustain consecutive 800 cal days though!

Enjoy the march tomorrow Amazon, if I lived closer Iโ€™d join you!

It’s another glorious Indian Summer day today, and Wi and I have taken a walk (out beyond Eastbourne, Jo!), then cafรฉ lunch overlooking the glistening harbour. Wellington is a pearl when she is! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s the last week of the financial year coming up, so it will be a busy one – I don’t expect it will be three days of work for me, might even be the full five.

    Morning/evening all,

A mild slightly overcast morning with dry weather forecast so the good news is I’m not going to get soaked.

Enforced FD today as I’m only taking water with me.

    Happy,

I’m sure you’ll get rid of that 2kgs in no time now you’re fasting again, but it’s the NFDs that are difficult. You’ll need to weigh out those handfuls of nuts to remind yourself of how many calories you can fit into your tiny palm…โ€ฆ

I’ve managed 2 FDs this week, 1 500 and 1 600 and the plan is KEEP BUSY. It has definitely worked well these past few days.

I’m not exactly looking forward to today but feel I need to do something to demonstrate how I feel about the whole shambles.

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

    Morning All,
Itโ€™s a dull grey day here but mild.

Envy the walk at Eastbourne Barrata and Wiwi, I have just been doing a slow troll around the park with the dog daily, one of whom is finding life very difficult these days. She is living on painkillers just to get through. Her sibling is still strong and fit yet only one year younger.

My life is very, very busy with activities so I need to build in some more relaxation time, I am feeling stressed. Retirement here is all go as usual. I still do my dance class three to four times per week and although aerobic it doesn’t really feel intense. The Gym pool has been shut since the last storm (two weeks)due to debris from the superstore next door which lost its roof. Although I despise swimming indoors I feel I need the extra exercise so I will force myself to swim today.

I feel really bloated today, I awoke with cramps. We had a ploughmanโ€™s at a Quiz last night, just not used to bread anymore, it was a nice change though.

We are looking at two days childcare from August with 6.30am start, that will hurt, I have become lazy in my morning start times preferring to read until 8 am occasionally later. So I will babysit until 1pm then my hubby will cover the afternoon/early evening shift until 7pm. The other nanny will cover the other two days. I canโ€™t see this happening for very long. I am sure they will find a different solution and some local work.

Happy – well done on the two fasts last week and getting in the right head space, I have been struggling since Christmas. 2 pounds off one week then back on the next, itโ€™s depressing.
Amazon – good luck with the March, I understand your decision, the politicians are not getting anywhere fast.

RT – I think I meet an idiot at least weekly, usually in a store behind a counter. I keep wondering how they can keep their jobs when they know so little about their products or services. I asked for balsamic vinegar at my local supermarket last week, it was missing from usual area. The girl suggested I try the isle with the detergents. When I explained that it was a dressing for salad she was very surprised. But I guess we all have our โ€˜dumb momentsโ€™ I certainly have my share. Although my team did win the Quiz last night, the prize being a packet of chocolate stars each.

Out for an Indian meal tonight so Fasting until tonight, but no rice and no naan for me.

    Morning/evening all,

Spring has sprung! It is a glorious morning, clear blue sky, sunshine and a whisper of a breeze. Definitely a day for getting outside in the fresh air.

Yesterday was a very interesting experience. We arrived at Hyde Park just after noon with the march due to begin at 1pm. There were so many people we didn’t get moving until 2.30pm.It was a very peaceful, friendly and orderly affair but the pace was slow, stop, start, very slow, slow and so on. It is unbelievable how tiring dawdling at an uneven pace can be, especially after standing in a confined space for 150mins before starting!

We didn’t get to Parliament Square as the sheer number of marchers made it impossible for the majority to do so but it was worth going and I enjoyed being with so many people who feel the same way as I do regarding leaving the EU. There were all ages present from babes in arms to very elderly folk and it was great to be with so many who hold similar views.

I didn’t eat until I got home at 6pm and decided a FD was not in order as wine was needed.

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

    Morning All,
Bright day heretoo with birds singing loudly, most pleasant.

Well done on the March yesterday Amazon, proud of you.

I had a busy day cleaning out my car, no mean job after having two dogs in it daily plus all the mud from wointer hikes. It was filthy. My son used the car while I was in NZ so there were various stains on the upholstery of unknown origin so I got that cleaned by the expert Car Cleaners. It looks like new now but the seats are very wet and I have a long journey today. Could be uncomfortable, guess we will sit on plastic bags.

I had a superb Indian Meal last night, vegetarian delicacies, plus a couple of gin and tonics before heading to a very noisy pub to see my friendโ€™s band the 45โ€™s. It was a real party atmosphere as there was a local guy celebrating his 50th along with a huge group on friends and family, all very drunk. We managed a little dancing in the cramped space. Thank goodness smoking was banned from pubs so many years ago.

Off to a Group Organisers Holiday Show today, goodness knows what that will be like? My son is then cooking us a roast dinner tonight at his new house, his first attempt at entertaining since they moved. We have to take our own chairs Ha! Ha!

    Have a nice day everyone.

Good on you, being counted, Amazon! Apparently 1M people marched.
We had our State election and same old, same old, were reelected.
Just enjoyed a sangria and paella in one of your favourite spots in Freo, Little Creatures, A. Watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean. No fasting. ๐Ÿ˜ P

    Purple,

I never got to try the food in Little Creatures but I’m going to ask to go next time I’m in Perth!

The food isn’t brilliant, but the view, with the old square rigger, the Duyfken, moored in front, gives it a great atmosphere.

    Amazon,

Iโ€™m going to have to find a small child to measure out my daily โ€˜handfulโ€™ of nuts ๐Ÿ˜€

The footage from the march looked great, amazing to think of one million people on the same march, huge!

On the other side of the Brexit fence… there was a great story in the Plymouth Herald about a pro-Brexit protest which aimed to disrupt the Brittany ferry. Sadly for the organiser, it was attended by perhaps 12 people. She admitted she was disappointed with the turnout and was quoted as saying โ€œPeople…were saying they’re coming – they but haven’t turned up. I feel sorry for people having to to grow up in this country. I’m advising my kids to leave the country – to go to Greece or somewhere.” ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

    Happy,

I’ve made the decision to stop buying nuts and cheddar as my bad habits appear to be cat like in having more than one life ๐Ÿค”

Whatever anyone might suggest to the contrary, the estimate of a million isn’t far off.
Talking of which the revoke article 50 petition has topped 5m.

Only another 12.5m to go ๐Ÿ˜‰

Before the referendum a substantial number of people decided it was a foregone conclusion that we would remain and they sat on their laurels when they should have voted. Many Leave voters are now doing similar and don’t seem to realise as yet it’s not a done deal.

The fat lady definitely isn’t singing, not even tuning up. In fact I think she hasn’t arrived in the UK yet as she hails from outside of the EU and is having trouble getting a visa because they think she might want to stay after it’s all over…..

As for the woman suggesting her children go live in Greece, that is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire but she is obviously ignorant of the economic situation in other parts of the world.

LC-HF has been the go to motto I think for the keto in-crowd the hipsterโ€™s and beautiful people and the fashionistaโ€™s of the healthy WOL ๐Ÿ˜† I have watched a few documentaries this month and a catch phrase that has come up from time to time is โ€œthe fat you eat is the fat you wearโ€ now the source is probably questionable but I think there is some merit in it. Yfee has taken to the bullet proof coffee and in her mix is coconut oil and butter plus a TBLS or 2 of Heavy Cream now that is a fat bomb ๐Ÿ˜ฏ right there she loves it and has 2 or 3 a day while not eating in her 16 hour fasting window also having a lot of butter and full fat sour cream etc on her meals when eating while fitting within the Ketogenic framework it is not conducive to losing weight which after all is the aim. While having these cups of coffee she has no hunger but also zero movement on the scales of truth and for my own study of one and โ€œlet me be the evidence โ€œ that we should embrace the Low Carb absolutely YES but I think show real caution in terms of all the added good fatโ€™s into our food choices.
โ€œRemember that reserve of fat you have on your body already and realise you actually donโ€™t need food, you just want it.โ€
    Peace RT.

If there is one thing that makes me feel sick at the thought it’s bulletproof coffee.

I prefer my coffee with a small amount of hot milk. Butter is for putting on veggies, bread and in cake batter.

    So there ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today has been good. I worked out first thing and then went to Kew Gardens for a walk. I took some coffee (with milk…..) with me and drank it while sitting by the lake in the sun watching the geese squabbling over their chosen patch of water ๐Ÿ˜†
I also got my 10,000 steps done and dusted.

The forecast for the rest of the week says warm, dry, sun so I’m hoping to get a few more good walks in.

I had the remaining portion of my roast veg and tofu lasagne for my FD dinner. I will make it again as it is very tasty and filling.

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

Never heard of ‘bullet proof coffee. It sounds ghastly! I agree with Amazon. Butter is for getting a salt hit, I believe. ๐Ÿ˜‰ All (healthy) things moderation. P

Behold Purple if you got a spare 10 minutes

    Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰
    RT

Thanks RT. Interesting…they must love holes in their fingers!!!!!

    Morning/evening all,

Another sunny morning here in London ๐ŸŒž

I noticed yesterday after a couple of days of not doing very much my hip was painful but I worked out and walked despite some discomfort. This morning I’m pain free and climbed the stairs easily. I guess my new motto is keep moving ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ช

FD no 2 today. Hopefully it’ll go as well as yesterday.

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hi Fast Trackers and Hello World (You All know Who You ARE) ๐Ÿ˜‰

A man visits the local council for a job interview. During his interview, the interviewer asks him “Are you allergic to anything?” to which the man replies “Yes, caffeine. I can’t drink coffee.”

“Ok, have you ever been in the military service before?”
“Yes,” he says. “I was in Iraq for one tour.”
The interviewer replies “That will give you 5 extra points towards employment.”

After this, he asks “Are you disabled in any way?”
The applicant says “Yes, a bomb exploded near me and I lost both of my testicles.”

Upon hearing this, the interviewer grimaces and says “Sorry to hear that… Okay then. You have enough points for me to hire you right now. Our normal hours are 8 am to 4 pm. You can start tomorrow at 10 am, and plan on starting at 10 am every day.”

The man says: “If the work hours are from 8 am to 4 pm, I’ll come at a normal hour, I want to do my part.”
    “You misunderstand.” Says the interviewer.

“This is a government job, For the first two hours, we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our balls. No point in you coming in for that.

Have A Happy Weekend All You beautiful Losers ๐Ÿ˜†

    ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

    It’s Friday,

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, it’s going to be 17C ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž

I was up early doing cleaning. laundry and working out and now I’m going out to enjoy this beautiful weather as it is only going to last another day before temperatures drop back to 11C.

Third FD of the week for me.

Have a good weekend everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

You have a great weekend as well Amazon we have our eldest son’s wedding on today and its 15deg cold wet and raining in a vineyard in the Coonawarra area we will still be making good memories and enjoying the day it is such a big buzz for everyone Family and Friends..
    Pearce RT

All the best with the wedding RT

    Morning All,

RT- congratulations to you son on his upcoming nuptials. I do love a wedding, itโ€™s been a long time since I attended one especially for family. Seems that youngsters donโ€™t bother with marriage, itโ€™s a very expensive business and they need every penny with rent and mortgages taking every penny of their earnings(not to mention the dreaded renovations to modernise old houses).

Early morning here, just got up to let my old dogs out in the garden. Quite a frost on the grass. I think their doggy bladders are beginning to get less strong, just like mine. They have been disturbing me early morning since I returned from NZ. I think they got used to all night baby feeds and going out whenever they wanted at night.

Well Done Amazon – good work on three fast days. Not making much progress diet wise here but at least in control of non fast days. Out for Mothering Sunday tomorrow at posh restaurant after taking part in a flash mob to raise awareness for Cancer charity Run.

Ukulele class is going well, we now have 13 members in the group now and can play about 10 songs of limited chord range, all rock or pop songs so great fun.

Happy Days – now back to bed for a couple of hours

It’s the last day of March, and still the Indian summer continues, with temperatures in the low 20s. Rain and gales tomorrow, though ๐Ÿ™ We had the pleasure of Wi’s company for dinner on Friday, before she wings her way back to the NH for another summer.

Sleeping has been better since I saw the hypnotherapist on Wednesday. I cannot say if that is due to his assistance, or the end of the financial year and all the work pressures that brought. But then it all starts again tomorrow…

I hope all went well with the wedding celebrations, RT. It’s a lovely excuse for a family get-together, on a happy occasion.

Have a great weekend, all. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Morning All,

Grey day here but not too cold. Swam in the outdoor pool yesterday which was lovely. It had been closed due to safety. The last storm took the roof off of the Superstore next door.

Successful fast yesterday, so much easier when the weather is warm. I prefer hot food most of the time but happy to eat salad when itโ€™s sunny. Another mindset issue I should work on someday.

Barata – great news on the improved sleeping situation. Alternative medicine has got to be better than sleeping pills which are so addictive and become less effective over time. My hip pain hasnโ€™t kept me awake recently which is great, my own comfy bed really helps and being physically tired everyday from exercises. Yesterday I did a walk, a swim and played bowls – slept like a baby.

Talking of babies I am getting plenty of exposure to my grand daughter, now 10 weeks old. Time is flying, she is getting to be quite a character already, some of the faces she pulls are hysterical. Her parents have adapted to disturbed sleep pattern but only another couple of months before her Mum returns to work in
London. She will be doing 12 hour days with travel. Crazy! I hope they work out something better, it will be tough. At least my son is now trying to get work more local to home.

Hope Everyone is fit, well and happy plus managing their fasts. Time to get up now one of my dogs is whining to be let out. No rest for the wicked.

Thanks everyone wedding was more like a party then a wedding happened then more party no formality or construction of a ceremony process at all.we loved it loved it loved it…Fasting hard this week total binge for the weekend ๐Ÿ˜ฏ who would of thought..!!
    RT

Good on you for letting your hair down, RT. Your son’s don’t we’d every day ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

RT, that sounds perfect, it should be a fun day not a formal stuffy regimented event! Happy memories ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™ve been really busy again this week with work. At least I have no time to be bored….just a shame Iโ€™ve got no time (or energy!) for anything else but work at the moment.

Not that the weather is conducive to doing anything at the moment. The days might be longer now, but itโ€™s still winter here. I woke up to a white world this morning…found myself humming itโ€™s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Fasting has been going reasonably well and Iโ€™m making slow inroads towards shedding my hibernation blubber ๐Ÿคฃ

Jo, I canโ€™t believe your granddaughter is 10 weeks old already! That seems to have gone quickly. I guess as granny all ages are great, but I like them better once theyโ€™re a few months old, as you say thatโ€™s when they get their personalities (and get more interesting….).

Barata, I hope youโ€™re still sleeping? Work stress definitely doesnโ€™t help, does it? โ˜น๏ธ

    Hi everyone,

It’s a damp, blustery and chilly 8C here today. I decided to go out early and hopefully miss the worst of the rain. I went to Osterley Park which has a National Trust owned, recently restored Robert Adam house and formal gardens, a farm with livestock and chickens, a farm shop selling their veg and eggs, and a huge area to walk in with bike trails and paths alongside the lake and through the trees.

I used to walk there every week and returned a couple of weeks ago after about 15 years. I had a really nice walk around the public areas and went back today for another walk and included the formal gardens in my route.
I had forgotten how beautiful and extensive the gardens are so my walk took a couple of hours and when the sun came out and the wind dropped it was lovely. It didn’t rain until I was on my way back to the car so I timed it well.
There weren’t many people about, I guess the early dog walkers had gone home by the time I arrived. It meant I had the place mostly to myself, and I was able to appreciate the birdsong, the signs of spring ie blossom and leaves on trees and shrubs, all manner of bulbs in bloom including the bluebells and veggies poking through the earth in the kitchen garden.

The cold snap is due to end today with temperatures at least 5 degrees warmer from tomorrow so maybe I won’t need the waterproof with zip-in fleece when I next go out ๐Ÿ˜†

    RT,

The wedding weekend sounds fab, binge and all ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Happy,

Good to hear all is well with you. I hope work settles down a bit soon as all work and no play isn’t much fun after a while.

I’m still doing 2 steps forward and 1 step back with fasting. Last weekend probably negated the 3 FDs I managed during the week, but I’m doing better this week as I’ve done 3 B2B FDs and allowed myself a cream tea for brunch today after my walk. They do the best scones in the cafรฉ, and really good coffee plus the staff are all friendly and welcoming.
I’m having a FD sized dinner of veggie and tofu curry so I’ll be well under TDEE. I’m also planning another FD tomorrow.

I’ve given up on the vegetarian Lent as things just weren’t working out. I found myself craving steak at the weekend and then eating everything else in sight which didn’t help at all, so I went to the butcher on Monday and bought some and had it with salad for a FD dinner.

I’m still trying new meat free recipes though ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

    Amazon,

Iโ€™ve just googled Osterley Park, it looks amazing. Straight out of Jane Austen! You really would need an army of gardeners to keep on top of it…and not forgetting the house. It always amazes me that places like that were private residences.

Re: work/life. Yes, itโ€™s hard at the moment, all-consuming, and Iโ€™m finding I need a proper break from it perhaps every 6 weeks to recover! Iโ€™ve got some time off over Easter, and a couple of weddings coming up which should be fun…although Iโ€™ve then got the stress of what to wear….!!

Itโ€™s interesting that you had a meat craving. Physiological or psychological I wonder?!

Iโ€™m still battling my nut addiction, but on that subject I see that too few nuts and seeds is positively dangerous ๐Ÿคฃ

Iโ€™ll be fasting for 24 hours through tomorrow….but it being Friday night, Iโ€™m afraid Iโ€™ll be breaking it with a G&T ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Happy,

I’m planning on going into the house next time I visit. I’ve been before but a long time ago and prior to the recent renovations.
As for the upkeep of the gardens and the house nowadays, there is an army of volunteers….

I’ve no idea why I was craving steak but I definitely enjoyed eating it ๐Ÿ˜€

I read the article regarding nuts and seeds and it made me smile. Next time I have a sneaky handful of cashews I’ll be reminding myself they are good for me ๐Ÿ˜†

    Oily fish tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‡

I ran out of gin last weekend ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

I’m hoping that by Easter we are all enjoying some decent weather and not still wearing winter clothing.

Hi Fast Trackers and Hello World (You All know Who You ARE) ๐Ÿ˜‰
    A repeat but clever funnyโ€ฆ

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “Iโ€™ll give you $800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob. After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, “Who was that?” “It was Bob the next door neighbor,” she replies. “Great,” the husband says, “did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?” Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
Have A Happy Weekend All You beautiful Losers ๐Ÿ˜†
    Peace RT

    Good one RT! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰
Amazon, I still believe, if we are eating healthy food and we crave something, in the healthy range, it is your body needing it. Same with nuts, Happy. ๐Ÿ˜Š
I’m still mentally in the wrong time zone and suggested a glass of red, in the middle of the night, to fall asleep. Mr P was horrified! So I turned the light on and read. Unfortunately, thinking the weather cool and rainy, I changed the doona to the winter one. Not only were we wide awake, we were sweltering. ๐Ÿ˜ It does your head in changing time zones.
I’m glad to be home, eating home prepared food, and not having to for in with others.
Have a good weekend everyone. P

    Morning/evening all,

    Purple,

I agree with listening to our bodies so far as having something “healthy” if we are craving it eg the steak, but when it gets to the 3rd or 4th handful of nuts, for me it’s just lack of control which is the one thing we all struggle with or we wouldn’t need/have needed to lose weight in the first place.
The jury is still out on craving G&T or wine ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am working very hard on that aspect as it is the one thing between me and goal and I’m not giving up any time soon.

It’s a lovely morning, clear blue sky, sunshine, the wind has dropped considerably and it’s as forecast, several degrees warmer than the past few days. I’ll be removing the winter duvet soon. I was tempted to do so a couple of weeks ago but decided to wait which proved a wise decision.

The weather is motivation to lose weight so all my lovely summer clothes fit. There is a dress hanging on the cupboard door as a reminder.

Spring also means new season veg will soon be available, lots of early salads, broad beans, ASPARAGUS, spring greens etc and a few Jersey Royals will definitely find their way into my veg rack and onto my plate. I’ve managed to protect my wild garlic from marauding slugs and snails and have already used some and am thinking it would be nice in an omelette which would make a fabulous FD dinner with a green salad.

Have a good weekend everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ
