  • I have decided to have a health MOT which will involve a check up at the doctor and a new diagnostic test that will measure the function of various systems and organs and from the results see if further investigations are indicated. Luckily I am in good health and I want to keep it that way – apart from a BMI of 26.2 – and having read about Intermittent Fasting and I hope that by following 5:2 as shown in this excellent Forum that I will have many happy and healthy years ahead. I plan to lose about 10lbs and decrease my waistline to within the ‘half of your height’ as mentioned here. That will be more of a challenge as at the moment it is 35/62 but I do know that abdominal fat is dangerous fat and can have many poor health consequences.

I have joined MFP to record calorie intake for the first few weeks and look forward to posting some positive results – albeit slowly but surely as the trend seems to be to lose 1-2lb per week.

Congratulations on your resolution. Weight loss of 1-2 pound a week translates into 52 to 104 pounds a year (yes, I am a math wiz, am I not?) faster rates of weight loss over the long term are probably not healthy.

Are you really 35 inches tall? 🙂 You write much taller than that.
