Hi all, my name is Cat, I’m 22 and a psychology student. I’m looking to lose some weight on the 5:2 diet and meet some lovely people on this forum along the way. I have tried many fad diets in my life and they have all failed (something that I imagine some of you may have experienced as well). I want a permanent solution and to overall feel more healthy and body confident. One of my key downfalls is a lack of motivation. I start off very excited to lose weight on diets but I tend to fizzle out. So I’m hoping to meet and make some friends on this forum who will push me to keep going and who I can also help/encourage to keep going. So if you are also new to the forum and diet like me please say hi. 🙂 Thanks

    Hi!
I am a 48 lady from Devon and am sooo depressed about my weight.
Saw the documentary that sparked this diet a while ago on TV and was impressed.
Want to try it out and I have decided my fasting days will be Monday and Tuesday 🙂
I really like the idea of not having to do the boring calorie count all week!!
I think you become such a bore that way.
I am now looking at convenient things to eat/drink on my fast days…. I think someone said something about drinking Bovril?
    Good luck 🙂

    Hey,

I’m Adam, 28 from Hertfordshire. I started last week so I’m on week 2. I’ve tried lots of diets before which mostly didn’t work. I did find one diet which worked well and I lost loads of weight but then slowly put it all back on so I’m hoping with this one I can lose it and then keep it off and feel healthy.

hi i am soul. i just started my first fasting week. i am on day two. I am looking forward to see what fasting will produce. i have tried, succeeded and failed at other diets. my hope is to find a good moderate way to eat and not gain.

    Hi
I am Julie, I have been dipping in and out of this diet with some degree of success for a while but have now decided to do it ‘properly’. I recently turned 50 much to my utter bewilderment and dismay but am determined if I have to be fifty I am also going to be fabulous!! l have joined a gym and been nearly every weekday morning for the last fortnight and up until today I have been calorie counting. I am going to boost this by fasting twice a week also until I go on hols in just under 6 weeks.
Looking forward to supporting and being supported on here.
    We can do it!
p.s i have just ordered 3 weeks supply of meals from The Fast Kitchen at 50% off to avoid preparing food on fast days whilst I get back into the swing of things

    Hi Cat!

I’m Emma and I’m 23, this is my 4th week of fasting and so far I’ve lost 6lbs.
Haven’t seen many people posting on this forum in their 20’s so will be good to see how you get on!
Keep us updated about how you get on, good luck! x

Hi, I’m Carla and I’m 45yo. I stumbled onto this diet last night while googling “losing weight with hypothyroid,” and now I can’t wait to start. I have gained 20lbs in the last 6mos due to my thyroid suddenly ceasing to function. I am miserable. I am hoping this diet will work as I’ve done nothing but gain weight even while dieting.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone’s journey on this 5:2.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the great posts. I think its great to have a forum to chat about how the diet is going. I’ve never done this before and so with all the feedback I already feel really encouraged to stick with it. Hi Emma, it is also lovely to meet someone else in their 20’s and well done for losing 6lb in only a month. That’s fantastic! 🙂 I hope to see similar results. I look forward to hearing about everyone’s journeys and hopefully we’ll be able to give each other tips.

P.S Has anyone else heard/thought about doing Fast exercise? It was on another documentary with Michael Mosely.

    Night night everyone!
