  • Day 4 nfd yesterday and today day 5 FD. I have felt a bit ill on sun and napped all afternoon and than..woke up and went to bed again 😛 No idea what scales would advise today will hop on it tomorrow and will see an increase most likely due to all my lovely meds ahhhh.

Today a bit of a failed FD – I woke up with back spasm and things are currently tad painful. Cant take meds sans food thus took ar 900 cals instead of planned 500 ah well. Hopefully I will kick back to normal in few days. This is by far my “best” back spasm ever in that I am mobile managed to work and walk to and from work and not die. My post half marathon fitness pays huge dividends. On a bright side went for two wee runs on wknd and I felt awesome and my legs are defo much stronger. Onward and… hopefully downward 😛

Day 5, USA, Missouri Ozark, FD

    Maintaining below goal weight.

Hello all, spent about FOUR HOURS yesterday afternoon trying on clothes, keeping clothes, discarding clothes, getting a big, huge bag of clothes (great clothes) to donate. It was so odd, there were about ten pair of dress slacks that I had put away, really nice slacks that must have been way too small but I wanted to keep them – just in case.

WELL, each and every pair fit. It is so cool to be able to tuck in a blouse or top if I want to without having a “pouchy belly” to contend with. I really don’t think it is the ten or twelve pounds of weight that I have lost as much as the commitment to daily exercise. But, on the other hand, there are at least a dozen pair of slacks that are just – as my husband said recently – tooooo baggy. They are all in excellent shape so I am very pleased to donate them. Lots of nice tops and blouses as well. It was funny, I was actually hurting when I got done, lots of bending over I guess.

I didn’t eat breakfast, ate a nice lunch after church with the hubby then worked for hours and didn’t even drink my iced tea I took in with me. I wasn’t hungry when I finished but I was dying of thirst. Didn’t eat any dinner so keeping busy does really help, doesn’t it?

    Wishing each of you well.

@lindasue – I’m right there with you on those pants! Four hours though? Wow! Some of my favorites from a year ago spring and summer are just huge. At least one pair goes up and well 6″ above my waist (what would have gone over my old belly). A gal at my church loved that outfit so much (J.C. Penney) that she bought the same one. We’ve both lost so much weight, though, neither of us can wear it! She lost with South Beach.

    Day 6/FD/Melbourne Australia

Second day of b2b2b. I’m staying on the list. Please forgive me if I fall off. I completely forgot it’s my 41st wedding anniversary today!

@happymargo I Konmaried my larger clothes also. I kept one dress to remind me of the past. After two years of maintaining it’s now sitting in the charity bag. Not having larger clothes in my wardrobe keeps me motivated. @bert ‘s advice to note how clothes feel rather than focusing on numbers on the scale helps also. Any sign of a muffin top above my skinny jeans and I’m back on the wagon.

I’m embracing no BMW as well. I’m definitely adding no w(h)ining, fellow pocket winos, starting tomorrow. DH advises we have a lovely bottle of proseco to share this evening.

I’m staying on the b2b2b list to hold hands. Enjoy the day.

    Day 5 FD NZ
Working today and very busy list so the day should go quick and easy.
I’m so ready for a FD reset after two days of overindulgence.
Mentally in a great place to maintain control on my NFDs this week. I really want to see progress and I know staying accountable and controlled is the way forward.
It’s very motivating that I feel my jeans a little looser and I know I’m making slooooow and steady progress.

    Still Day 5

Adding a few more to the Day 5 list

    Day 4–NFD
    Day 3–NFD
Tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday I plan to make fast days. Felt tired today, and had initially planned a fast, but caved upon returning from work.

    @onahealthyhigh — No w(h)ining?!? 🚫🍷🚫 😳 Yikes!

You’re tougher than I am! I’ve backed off the marvelous local craft beers Colorado is well-known for, but no wine?? 😢 Sorry to my Fellow pocket winos…. I’m just not there yet!

    What are the pocketeers

Day 5 Ohio, US — FD
    Day 4 –NFD
    Day 3 — NFD

Interesting to watch weight go up and down. Down a couple/three lbs after FD, then back up one after NFD. I have decided to stop weighing daily to see if this helps me focus less on it.

Hi! I’m a little late to the party, can I still join for June? Today is my first fast day after a long, long while (during which time I had a delightful baby girl :))

Oh, and I guess it goes:

    (Day 1)June 5th – FD – Portland, Oregon

    🙂

    Still day 5

@Lacer@ – welcome! Actually, though it is your day 1, if you read the introductory post by @strawberriesandcream, our host this month, it would be Day 5 – Portland, OR – FD. We all post the calendar it is no matter the day we personally start.

@rerunirret – pocketeers originally started with a list created to support each other for a particular reason such as 2 FD back to back – B2B or 3 would be B2B2B. Then someone might put the list in their pocket for extra support to make it through.

    Day 5–Mexico City, NFD
    Day 4–Mexico City, NFD
    Day 3–Mexico City, NFD

I’m feeling hungrier on NFD than on FD, does this happen to anyone else?

Day 4 – NFD – West Yorkshire UK

    Day 6 Tas Australia FD

Second day of b2b2b! Kept it under 300 cals. Feeling great. Glad to be part of such a great group!

@happymargot what a lovely supportive husband you have!

Delicious recipe for anyone who thinks cauliflower is wonderfully dietetic but rather boring: CROCK POT CAULIFLOWER! http://cooktopcove.com/2017/03/02/how-to-make-whole-cauliflower-in-a-slow-cooker/

There’s hardly any preparation, and the results are wonderful.

    Day 5 FD.
Have to admit when I read that the second week fast days were easier I didn’t believe it but seems to be true today.

Day 6 FD country West Australia
Much needed FD after a few days of indulgence in food especially carbs.
Not having any luck with weight loss for a few months now and been on the plateau for too long, despite tweaking the ways of doing 5:2 and the foods consumed etc.
However the other benefits of 5:2 keep me keeping on!

I have heard about memorials etc for those affected in Manchester. Does anyone know if anything is being done for the 28 christians shot the same week in Egypt ? Haven’t heard to date.
Just had a terrorist related incident in Melbourne.
Just as well this is an international thread where everyone is very supportive.🙃

    Day 5 USA FD
Well I made another FD. I am getting frustrated though. I started in March and weight was coming off quickly. April was good too. May was horrid. I have only lost 3 lbs. in a month. I have gone up and down most of the month. 4 more lbs. almost seems impossible. I wanted to reach my goal of 125 by June 18. I don’t feel like I am going to be able to do it. I can’t get motivated to exercise. Someone help!

@songbirdme — oh my gosh! I got hungry just watching that cauliflower video! Made my mouth water.
I totally am going to buy cauliflower tomorrow! Thanks for posting.

    Day 6 Brisbane Australia NFD

Successfully got through my first fast day yesterday. The only time I felt my willpower waiver was when I was preparing dinner, but I powered through.

Managed to fast another 18hrs through to lunch today (unintentionally), where I have enjoyed a LaZuppa Chicken & Vegetable Soup In A Cup (only 55cal and soooo yummy!!). Hoping this will tide me through until my dinner of homemade Mexican Lasagne & steamed vege tonight.

Scales are down on yesterday, and while I realise this is mostly water, I am happy they are travelling in the right direction.

Have a great day everyone!! 🙂

I’m 5 days late but I’m totally up for it!

    Day 6, Germany, FD
    98,6 kg today.

    Day 6 UK FD

181lbs. Going the wrong way:(( Soggy day, I don’t know how I am going to get everything done. Finding it all a bit difficult at the moment. A successful fast would help.

    Day 5, UK London FD
Soo good to get a fast day out of the way on a Monday and did well…have stuck to my staple of tuna and lettuce at 12pm which sees me right through and a light soup at 7, although think I’ve been through about 100 different kinds of soups and not been impressed with many of them so going to start making my own. Was just under 500 cal and have been fasting since 7pm Sunday. Wooo! Failed on the 3 litres of water though so will make up for it today

    Day 6, London UK, NFD

6.30am…no hunger pangs yet ..will see if I can hold off until lunchtime and as it’s my last day in my current job, might finally have that lasagne that has been teasing me all these months !

    Day 6
    West Midlands UK
    FD

    Day 5, Northumberland, UK, FD/BSD?

Not sure how today will go. Tuesday’s are my standard fast day, but after back to back days with the BSD limit of 800 I’m feeling a bit off this morning so might need those 800 cals today. Heavy rain after a week of sunshine is not really helping. I will get to the gym this morning and see how I feel from there.

    Day 6 UK FD (B2B2B) 2nd day 🌈

Well went a bit over last night, got off work early – bonus, however then convinced myself I was starving and ended up having a little snack late! So went over my 500, probably by about 200 didn’t feel good about it and also then realised I’m back to 0 hours between fasts just by having this when I was 6 hours in. That’s the way I try to look at it, anything over 12 hours is Fat burn, as soon as you eat back to zero. So now won’t get to my fat burn until about 10am. (don’t know where I got this from, but someone mentioned it in an earlier post, and stands to reason if you body is burning off food, it’s. It burning off fat yet).

Anyway today is another day and determined with my fellow pocketeers and anyone else on a FD today to make it a good one.

Will try and drown the dragon today although if he went outside ATM he might get drown as it’s not stopped raining all night or morning. Complete change from our sunshine weekend! Keep on keeping on 👊🏻🤘🏻

    Hi
I’m new to this please may I join?
    X

    Day 5 | London, UK | FD

Day 2 of my first b2b2b

Yesterday was fine, keeping my head down at work really helps. I’m getting through all those tasks at the bottom of the list that have been there for months. This way of eating is definitely good for my productivity! I think about food less now and this is a huge breakthrough for me. I don’t automatically go for a flat white in the mornings or reach for lunch because it’s 12. It’s interesting, after a month of this way of eating, how your mind and body adjusts.

It’s a wet morning in London, hope it doesn’t last too long.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Day 6 Notts UK FD

Good day yesterday so first FD of the week today.

Starting Pocketeers list for today Day 6.
Please copy and paste and add yourself if you want to join in.

    @tillysmum

    Day 6 Newcastle UK NFD.
Second wet day in Newcastle good for work and the garden on the plus side. Back-to-back fast days Wednesday and Thursday I must be a sadist as I enjoyed the fasting days LOL my exercise regime is going well and feels part of my routine now. Keep at it people.

    Day 6, Newcastle UK, NFD

Managed a good NFD yesterday – just below TDEE. However, it rained so much that I didn’t get out for a walk and am feeling sluggish. My back is recovering quickly and so long as the weather improves tomorrow, I will be working Wednesday/Thursday and will make those my two FDs for the week. This morning I’m off for a bone scan and planned to walk to hospital and back but it’s still pouring down. The garden is enjoying it.

@okeydokey – hope your packing is going well – are you going to be ‘leaving us’ for a complete 18 day break or might you be ‘popping in’?
@mogaman – wishing you a safe journey and look forward to hearing from you when you arrive.
@fatveganchickslims – well I can empathise on the back spasm. It’s only when something happens that we realise how important it is to keep ourselves fit. A reminder why we are embracing a healthier way of life.
@lindasue – sounds like a very satisfying 4 hours indeed!
@onahealthyhigh – Oops – not often it’s the lady who forgets the anniversary lol. Congratulations on 41 years – hope you both enjoyed your evening and fizz.
@lany36 – slow and steady – I like that. Feels good to look back and see how far you’ve come and what’s been achieved.
@lacerx – welcome and congratulations on your little girl – I see @annemarilyn has pointed you in the right direction. Here’s the link to the spreadsheet if you’d like to use it:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SLq0JjjWe8jvsiubsJSS8owJ-qYfGYtY1ceZPkWphLM/edit#gid=0
@gandarina – you are experiencing what we describe as ‘awakening the hunger dragon’. On NFDs listen to your body and only eat when you are truly hungry. For example, you may find, like me and many others, that you don’t need breakfast and can easily get by on two meals a day. I’m sure others will add their experiences of this.
@songbirdme – thanks for the cauliflower recipe link – anything to help liven up cauliflower is a good thing. I hope @coda has arrived safely and you have a great meet up.
@brunsjk – sounds like you’re getting into the groove very quickly.
@lilymartin – it shows just how much the media control our lives. I didn’t hear a word about the slaughter of 28 people in Egypt. I’m very sad to hear it and have said a prayer for them too.
@fatteacher – 125 is just a number. Focus on what you have achieved and how you feel. Do you honestly feel like you need to lose another 4lbs? Exercise is very good for toning and for our mental well-being but weight eradication is 80% diet related. Maybe you’ve put on muscle that weighs more than fat?
@josnorgren – welcome. I didn’t open the link you posted as you haven’t indicated what it is and anti-virus advice today is never to open a link unless you’re sure it’s safe. I’m sure you’ll agree with me? For guidelines on our thread works, please read my first post.
@fatrabbit – sit down, close your eyes, breathe slowly and visualise just how much you have achieved – and that should get you through this soggy day. As I and others have said before, your journey is inspirational.
@mrssonb – great progress – enjoy your lasagne on your last day. Are you changing job? Good luck with whatever you are planning.

All the best for today – Keep on keeping on…

    Scotland 5:2
    Day 5 – yesterday NFD
    Day 6 – FD

Second fast day today. Hungry already! Determined to wait til lunch though.

I’m a food teacher so this is tough!

    We can do this……

    Day 6 FD 2nd of B2B

Holding strong on 2nd fast day! Determined to get to 63 Kg this month. That would be a loss of 1.4 Kg for the month… surely doable! That weight would bring me into the 9 stones something, a number I haven’t seen so long I can’t remember!
Good luck to everyone for a good mindful day today.

Hello all from Dublin airport day 6 fd – maybe?

Travelled down last night on the coach from a very wet Belfast to an equally wet Dublin so while I had a hot shower to warm up OH got a pizza so while I previously had a green smoothie earlier on 3 slices of a 12″ tasted delicious not sure what they would total probably more than I think. Oh just bring called for our flight!

    DAY 6 – UK – FD

Well, I fizzled out at the end of May – the debacle over our flights to NI a main factor, we did finally rebook with another airline and flew out on Sunday night, arriving at our destination on Monday 01.00 a.m. I didn’t diet all week……and then just totally depressed by the news from Manchester and then London.I can’t quite get my ahead around thinking about my weight….but I will try, I have made a conscious effort not to weight myself, as I know I have put on lbs. and it will depress me too much, and when that happens I usually start eating even more. I will try to get a few fd’s under my belt and weigh myself in a couple of weeks time when I am hopefully “on track” again. Apologies for sounding so miserable. Good fasting everyone.

    Day 6, UK, FD

Day 6, Guildford UK holiday Madeira, CD (controlled)

Yesterday was a planned feast day, sitting in the sunshine in Funchal drinking wine with salad. I had an orange and passion fruit ice cream. I think about 2,500 cals. Enjoyable and planned.

Yes lots of walking. Shoulder hurts a great deal from rotator cuff injury and I don’t like pain killers, I think they are bad for the kidneys and gut. Still needs must. Slept well.

Today I plan a controlled day at 1,200 cal. Tomorrow I fly back from hols so two days back to back fasting. Then return to 4:3 for a month. Because of injury may not hit my goal of 4 Kgs for June. So far though I had planned my holiday was rest days with 2 feast days, I only had one feast day this time.

    Day 6 Belfast FD
It’s funny how, after a spell of good weather, you get to expect sunshine when you open the curtains. Well I’ve been disappointed this last couple of days. I’ve had a successful day’s fast and exercise. Today, I’m fasting again and going to a Pilates class this morning.
@lilymartin I hadn’t heard about the incident in Egypt or Melbourne. Our media has its own focus at the minute. I hope no one was hurt. We live in terrible times. Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.
Thank you for the link. @songbirdme.I’ve added cauli to this week’s shopping list
@onahealthyhigh Happy anniversary. An impressive number of years!
    @okeydokey Bon voyage!
@lacerx Welcome and congratulations on your new baby.
@mrsonb – I can thoroughly recommend making your own soups. When we have a chicken, I boil the carcass for a tasty stock. My freezer is full of containers with an assortment for FDs. I use MFP to log the recipe and then I can just add the portion to my daily log. Good luck if you are starting a new job.
@gandarina I second @Strawberriesandcream’s comments about the hunger dragon. I used to eat breakfast without thinking about whether I was hungry or not, mainly because it ‘was the most important meal of the day’. In fact, I was rarely hungry at all. Now I rarely eat before about 11.30 or 12. Embrace your hunger. Drink something, try to make yourself busy and usually those pangs go away. Good luck.
    Welcome @chocolate milkshake.
Have a good day everyone. Onwards and downwards!

@Jarbia- Did you eventually get your luggage back? It’s a horrible way to start a holiday. I hope your trip was worth it! Don’t be down. Life happens. Today’s a new day. Press the reset button and look forwards. Xo

Day 6, London, UK, FD (1st of B2B2B)

I seem to have been lost from the B2B2B list started by @loubelles for those doing B2B or more. Not a problem, I think the lists got muddled and I was removed because my B2B2B starts today!!!

Anyway, for those doing B2B2Bs at the moment, I’ll keep you guys in mind and send positive vibes your way! As someone doing ADF, I think I’ll stick to B2B2B pocketeering if necessary, otherwise I’ll have 50 people in my pocket every other day!!!!……………………….. I think the mojo might get diluted!!!!!

I had an OK NFD yesterday, under TDEE, but far too many carbs for my liking commencing with a mocha and chocolate croissant, to kick off my 16:8.

@happymargo, I joined the pocket winos too, but let’s face it, it was all for show!!!!! I’m hoping being a member of the pocket winos just means NOT consuming an entire bottle of shiraz at lunch ………. A glass or 2 is ok (?).

@debster251 the £1 price for these wine gums always sucks me in………… they really are too good to be true, all the stuff that’s gonna kill us is as cheap as chips!!!!!

@mogaman having dropped 2 sizes so far, I love the fact that I seem to wear clown pants at regular intervals before I’m comfortable in the smaller size, laughed when I saw this on pinterest last week,

Him: “What size pants do you wear?”…………………….Her: “Leggings”

@onahealthyhigh, many congratulations!!…………………. Just some advice to ensure the next 41 years are trouble free…….…. DO NOT TELL HIM YOU FORGOT!!!!!!, you’ll never live it down, it’s in the male DNA to store that titbit for future use!!!

And finally, I thought I’d share a concise version of me before intermittent fasting………………….

    Me: “I’m not hungry”
    Evil Me: “Eat anyway”

Good luck everyone………………….. this really isn’t as difficult as you thought it would be is it?

Day 6, Hampshire – UK. FD.

FD for me today – the first so far in June!

Very hungry this morning as I rather stupidly had some of my OH’s chocolate last night before going to bed.

Hope all good for everyone else…

    Day 6 – Durham, UK – FD

Hi everyone – so many new faces since I was here at the beginning of May! I’m late to the June party, but hope you will let me join you as I’m wanting to lose 4 kilos this month, to get me down to well within healthy BMI at 75kg.

I hit the top end of healthy BMI 2 weeks ago – what a feeling! I know BMI isn’t everything, but it felt a very significant milestone.

Anyway, wishing all my fellow FDers an iron will today and you NFDers a modicum of control to keep up the good work!

    Day 6, Belfast, NFD

FD went ok yesterday…I had a few wobbles but I have taken the advice from this forum and have plenty of water on hand. This really helps. Bit of a challenging yoga class yesterday evening too, so that was all good.

@coda – Bon Voyage!! Your trip sounds amazing, have fun!

@lou Belles – I think you’ve copied the Day 5 Pocketeers list…you seem to be the first signing in, being in Australia. It’s amazing the global reach of this forum. Really cool!

Good luck everyone today, FD or non!

    Day 6 – NFD

    Day 6 – FIN – NFD

Yesterday’s fast was yet another success story – no headaches and no bigger hunger pangs. I broke my fast at around 4 in the afternoon with my typical choice as of late – a pear (cut into pieces) with two slices of Edam cheese and a few pecan nuts. For dinner I had a tomato-carrot-potato soup with cottage cheese. I haven’t calculated the energy amount for the soup, but I’m pretty sure I stayed within the 500 kcal limit since my fast breaker is a little below 200 kcal and the 100 g cottage cheese I had with the soup was 67 kcal.

It rained very late into the evening, so I had to substitute my run for strength training. I plan on running tonight instead.

I have plans to add another fast day this week to balance out the sweet binging I engaged in last week. I might also have to move Thursday’s fast day to tomorrow, as I’m attending a seminar on both Thu and Fri which might make fasting a little tricky.

    Day 6…….Florida…….FD

Yesterday, was a very nice day for me, I stayed with in my calories and I even download MFP finally. I’m going to give this ap, a good going over for June. Well, in hopes to get into at least the 130’s by the end of the month. I mean it’s only 3lbs to get into the 130’s, I’m thinking it’s doable by the end of the month right?

I’ve been trying for a couple month now, to get into the 130’s, but reason that are totally my fault, it’s a wish and a dream that have never really came to reality for me.

I guess every wish or dream starts out with one small step in its direction!

Welcome to all our new folks just joining us for the month!

    I’m off!

I can’t believe they think everyone was Kung-Fu fighting?
