  • Hey everyone!
My name is Kristy. I just started 5:2 last week and so far I love it. I feel fantastic doing it and when I complete a fast day, I feel super proud of myself.

    I’ve been lurking for a while….but I thought I’d start posting. 😛

I have a tumblr blog that I’ve been updating if anyone wants to follow it.

    Hi and welcome:

Here are some tips that might help: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/warnings-to-newbies/

    Good Luck!

    HI Kristy,

I started last week too. Just finishing my 4th fast day and feel great. 🙂
How often are you weighing yourself? I’m doing it weekly but reading some posts on here it’s seems some people weigh in a couple times a day and others only once a month!

    I’m an Aussie Newbie!
I started on Tuesday and have done 2 Fast days with a result of 1.8 kgs! Very impressed but finding day after fast day feel yuk and “revved” up, not sleeping well either? Anyone else experience this in the beginning? Drinking so much water and herbal teas on fast days up all night as well.

Im also an Aussie newbie and am loving this new way of eating. Just finished week 7 and have lost 4kg. I only record my weight once a week but cannot resist checking in between – the fluctuations can be depressing though. After losing the first 3 weeks I plateaued for a couple of weeks which was getting me down! However it was worth keeping going as now the weight is going down again. Even when it doesn’t, think of all those other health benefits!

Newbie also, i decide to to 1:1, today is my 4th day of fasting.
It’s a bit difficult on the down days. I feel empty and nervous but i wont give up.
On the low days i do not sleep 8 hours, i wake up in the middle of the night or very early in the morning. The good thing is that during the low day the stomach shrinks, so it’s easier during the next day not to overeat.
On the low days i consume 300-350 cal, i will continue like this for two weeks then i’ll do 500cal in the low days, and in the final stages i’ll switch to 5:2.
I’m 160cm tall, female, 62.3kg, ex binge eater, my target is to reach 50-52kg,
Today i cooked a huge portion of tomato soup, it helped alot, i experience less hunger 🙂
I wish good luck to everybody,
keep going 1 day of self-control, that is all that it’s take.

PerkyBubbles: I had vowed to weigh myself once a week…then I was doing it once a day….so I decided, “hmm let’s do it once a MONTH!” But that only lasted for a day so now I’m weighing here and there but only paying attention to my weight after my 2nd fast…which impressively, I only go seem to be going back up .1 or .2 on my feast days.

I’m guessing it’s because I’m drinking extra water.
    Fasting makes me super thirsty.

Also, in terms of other changes, I have a hard time regulating my temperature on fast days, usually towards the evening. I’m either super hot or super cold. My sleep doesn’t seem to be effected unless I exercise on the fast day, then I sleep like a baby. 😛
