  • Hi everyone,

I’ve decided to start the 5:2 diet and have my fast days as Monday and Thursday.

So far, my first fast day is going ok. I’m finding it quite easy and drinking lots of water to fill the void of food.
This morning I had some strawberries with greek yogurt. For lunch, a banana and for tea, I’m going to have some tomato soup (hopefully it will fill me).

I was a little worried to hear that some people suffer on their fast days and struggle to sleep. Fingers crossed I’ll be ok!

I’m 25 years old, 5ft 9 and weigh 14st 12. Unfortunately, friends and family don’t help as they say I look fine! With me being tall, I carry my weight better. But I’ve had to remind myself that I am on the obese scale for my BMI now – My goal weight is 11st 7.

    Let’s hope this works!!!

    hi Sarah,

Don’t worry we will all be your fast family!

You sound like you are doing great so keep it up. I hope the soup fills you up and you get to bed successfully fasting on your first day. If you find the soup doesn’t try an omelet on your next fast, if you like prawns they are low cal and nice with eggs. Always try to have your meals worked out in advance, preparation really helps with success in this WOL.

As for the sleeping, it never happened to me until I read about it here lol. Your brain can be a bit active at night to counteract it just try a bit of relaxation when you get into bed. Tensing your muscles then relaxing them one by one. Your face, arms, legs etc. It’s quite good.

Good luck, come se us in the other threads, in particular I chat in ‘HELP women of a certain age’, ‘Fast busting brits’ and ‘Summer Plegde’.

    Chat soon

    Jaye.
