  • Hello everyone. Im drew from melbourne.

Im new to the forum but not new to 5:2.

A year ago i watched michael mosley’s eat, fast and live longer. I remember at the time telling my fitness fanatic friends and my family.

In septemeber, in australia, there was a 15 minutes story on mosley and the 5:2 plan which my folks watched. Mum preceded to talk to me about it and was amazed that i already knew everything she was saying (and a lot more!!!)

I reminded her that id watched the full hour long show and told them about it at least 6 months before.

My folks started 5:2 in september and have lost more than ten kilos each. Mum has lost almost 15% of her bodyweight. I started anout 3 weeks later and I’ve now lost 10.7 kilos (23.5 pounds)

i remember on my 2nd fast day i had a homebrand el-cheapo beef and veg soup. I think i was hallucinating at the time, because i tasted EVERYTHING in that soup, all the sweetness, spices, textures etc. It was THE best soup i’d ever had.

I’ve found the 5:2 works for me because for 7 days a week, i dont worry about food at all. On my 5 days, i now eat less of any one thing, because i am conscious of the calories. So on some mornings i’ll have two different small mugs of cereal and 1 slice of toast, instead of one large bowl. I’m now enjoying food instead of eating because i think i should.

I even lost weight over xmas. new years and mums birthday which is 27 december , and thats unheardof in my family.

i’ve done the c25k running plan twice before and i started it again this week.
I’ve gone form size 44/117 jeans and am now sitting in 40/102 jeans for first time in 3 years.

i feel great and life is beginning anew for me.

    Thanks Doc
