  • Hello everyone!

I’ve watched the Horizon program on BBC, I’ve read the book and watched an interview on Youtube between Dr Mercola and Dr Mosley. I feel like I am ready to give this a go!

I’ve tried pretty much every diet out there with little to no results and I haven’t kept it off. But, I think this will help me. From what I have read, many people’s relationship to food and its hold on them seems to change after a few weeks. Plus, it’s restrictive eating for just 2 days a week and then the diet is done, until the next fast day. I like that. No guilt for eating non diet food. No counting calories for 5 days and weight loss.

    Great!

    Hello VibeRadiant
I’m new to the forums, but have been doing the fast diet since the beginning of the year. I hope you decided to give it a go and that you’re doing well on it, because trust me this IS the easiest diet I’ve every followed for all the reasons you mention in your post. I’m down about 10-12 LBS since starting my 2 day a week fasts, and that’s even with a 2 week break to go on a Caribbean cruise. There’s definitely some bio or chemical change from fasting. The 1st few weeks I was totally off coffee which is highly unusual for me. I felt fine, just had no desire for coffee, and my sweet tooth has diminished by about 80% since starting the FD….amazing. As I said, hope you’re doing well with the fasting and good luck to us all!

    Thanks Leni,

Starting my second week of the FD and find it generally easy to do.

Hi Again, I’ve found it easiest to keep it simple on fast days, either skip breakfast and then have 2 apples, 2 cups of organic, low fat soup, crackers around dinner time or a breakfast smoothie of low fat almond milk, ice cubes, frozen strawberries and some artificial sweetener for breakfast and then 1 apple in the evening. I’m just not in the mood for recipes or cooking on fast days. This works best for me. Good luck!

    Thanks Leni.
I think I have finally accepted the fact that eating processed carbs sends me to crave ville. And I’m ok with that. I know to stay away from them.
I like to keep my food simple too. Recipes that take time and many ingredients tend to overwhelm me so I don’t have many that I use.
My fast day plate philosophy is half the plate is leafy greens, one meat serving on quarter of the plate and cooked veggies on the other quarter. Very simple, very easy.

Also from Canada, Montreal area, today as my second fast day sub 500 cal meal I’ve got two hard boiled eggs, a bunch of raw mixed greens and a can of Coca-Cola. The last of these three is not your typical fast day consumable, but it works for me.
