  • At work I ran into a colleague who was looking like he had lost a dress size and I asked him what he was doing and he told me about the Fast Diet. Today is my first day on the diet….I am very excited and just want to shed a few kilos. I exercise daily but diets haven’t proved successful for me…so here I am….I hope this can help me!

i have also heard good things about this diet… it seems to be the psychology as well of not feeling like you permanently have to watch what you eat as it’s only pain for 2 days out of 7. My mum (58) has done it as well and has no problems with it and has had steady weight loss for a few weeks now. And we can still have our wine at the weekends…

The last time i dieted was 3 years ago, and did weight watchers for 3 months – it worked but it was such a mission counting points and having to be careful every single day. it takes over your life so i find this 5:2 far more tempting now

I start on Monday. Good luck with yours 🙂

Hi Lunga and rose, today is my third fast day having done last Thursday and Monday earlier this week. I had found that the second day was easier than the first, and I’ll know tomorrow if my third fast day was easier than the second.

My last meal before the fast is at 18h30, then I eat one 500 cal meal on fast day at 12h30 and then my next meal is the day after at 6h30, so I have a 36 hour fast made up of two 18 hour fasting periods.

    Good luck!

yes i am going to mondays and thursdays as well. do you find it easier just eating all calories in one meal and long periods of nothing? i imagine that will be a bit brutal for me; going to try and break up into smaller meals/snacks.

Particularly cos i want to keep the gym up, so i will need at least a light snack before i go lest i pass out!!
