  • Hi,
It’s my first day on here and my second week of fasting. It is fast day today and my stomach is grumbling. Still, not long until I get home for some calories.
I’m a middle aged man whose weight has been creeping up and up. It’s now time to do something about it and 5:2 seems easier to stick to than 7 days of calorie counting.
Wish me luck and if any of you have some tips for my journey to slimness, please let me know. I would appreciate it.
    Al

    Welcome Al,
I am new too and still learning the ropes here. I’m on my third week of 4:3 (3 days of fasting) and feeling great. The first day was my hardest. I filled up with water, broth, and more water. I won’t give up my morning coffee, so I use up 90 calories in creamer. But I soon found that I look forward to those fasting days and am much more selective about what foods to consume on eating days.
I am a senior and have been overweight since my late twenties due mostly to undiagnosed hypothyroidism and poor food choices. I’ve tried every diet imaginable, but none of them spoke to me like the 5:2. Now I find myself starting to crave healthier food options and also preplan my eating days.
Don’t worry about the scale so much, first 2 weeks I lost 6 lbs and 3rd week it slowed to 1/2 lb. I look at it as a lifetime change to a healthier, slimmer me…It’s no quick fix (well, maybe it is).
Good luck to you. Be patient. You can do it!
    Lynda
