First day today!

  • Suddenly decided first thing this morning that I couldn’t go on eating all the food in the world, so today is my first ever day of fasting!! I am enjoying lots of cold water and lemon today. I keep thinking about food, but not because I am hungry more because of habit. Hopefully things will go well and I can keep this up!

    I am starting my third week and I can’t say anything negative about it at all as I have not experienced anything negative about fasting.

    It’s my first day today, been surprised with how easy its been. I’d ordinarily be part way through a baguette right now but have been quite happy with my boiled egg, slice of ham and tangerine. Hadn’t eaten anything since 19:30 yesterday until just now. The water and lemon is working a treat for abstaining any hunger pains.

    thank you – at work today and doing my 2nd fasting day today, am finding so much easier here than at home! I work on the basis of having nothing all day about from water and then eating a nice meal in the evening, although I did forget to take something out the freezer so not sure what it will be tonight!

    i think i’ll plan to pretty much always do my days at work, need the distraction!

    My first day too! Can’t actually believe how easy it has been! Going from being someone who as soon as I ate was planning when & where I’d eat again that’s not bad. Fingers crossed I can get through the rest of the evening – I’m not hungry, it’s just the habit of eating I think.

    @andrea22, @drizzle – I too fast at work where I am usually busy enough that food is a distant thought and I can concentrate on my work. Today was a tad hard as I wasn’t as busy, but I made it! and I am now having my soup while the fish cooks. It is so good!

    2nd day and I’m struggling a bit more, but determined to stick at it!

    @drizzle – water is your best friend. I drink a cup of water all at once and hunger pangs go away. I also like fruity herbal teas to sip on.

    do stick to it @drizzle – it will be worth it in the end. Mind over matter (or tummy!) and all that. Not long till dinner time and you will appreciate it more then.

    I’ve just found a fatal flaw in my plan in doing this – my scales don’t work so I can’t actually weigh myself!! Hoping that my clothes are going to get soooo loose that I will know that way!

    @andrea22 – keep in mind that weighing yourself frequently could give false results (up or down) as you may lose/gain water weight. Over the long haul is best with clothes getting looser and compliments piling up… 🙂
