First day today!

  • Hi guys, this is my very first day of fasting, have decided on the advice of a friend who is doing the 5.2 to not eat anything until dinner as it’s easier, however it’s only midday and I’m starting to struggle, only drinking water and Diet Coke, any tips? Thanks

    Here is what works for me:

    Fasting days were painful initially – felt sick and ill from mid-morning onwards. However they have become a lot easier. I drink loads of water, have some nice hot green tea and if, cravings get really bad, I go crazy and have an apple.

    I prefer not to eat at all during the day. What amazes me is when I do this, I am quite happy with a light meal in the evening. I feel very full after my bowl of vegetable and lentil soup.

    The thing I wish I had done before I started was to take all my measurements and log them in the tracker in this website. The thing is weight goes down slowly over time but sometimes it can feel like you are not making any progress. Having all the charts and graphs there can be really encouraging.
