  • Hi All,
This is my first day on the site and the first day of me taking back control of my weight again. I have a question that I hope someone can offer me some advice on : I can’t abide green tea (tried it in several forms and find it undrinkable), but I love Twinings Cranberry & Raspberry fruit infusions. Is this a good way to boost my water intake overall and OK to use on a fast day?

I generally put one teabag into approx a pint of boiling water and drink a couple of pints in a day.

I have been on the 5:2 before and lost approx 70lb, got down to around 168lb and then maintained this within 5lb or so for 2 years. But, I have found that my greed cons my brain into thinking that I can maintain without vigilance, fool! So here I am back up to 189lb and starting all over again 🙂

Thanks in advance for any replies

Personally Id avoid anything that is sweet. I think it sends the wrong signals to the brain. The brain equates sweetness with calories. Even if the fruit infusion does not contain many calories the sweetness means your brain will be expecting calories to arrive. When the calories don’t arrive your brain will be sending a message to GO FIND calories. That’s why artificially sweetened drinks like diet coke etc are such a con. Ask yourself, how many skinny people do you see drinking those drinks? Err NONE.

Id just add a squeeze of lemon juice to a glass of water. I drink coffee with a splash of milk. Avoid the sensation of sweet is my recommendation.
