Good morning from sunny Scotland! Well, I survived a FD yesterday and actually feel a lot better for it today. I don’t even feel hungry yet so will wait until lunchtime before I eat anything. I have had a coffee and a tea this morning but have cut out all sugar.

Hedgehogs – Can you see me this morning?? There’s plenty of me to see šŸ˜‰

Minols – Your post about your hunt for pokemons really made me chuckle. The time with our children is so precious as they grow up so quickly. I sometimes have to remind myself that my 2 are grown ups now. I have no idea where all those years went! I love the idea of winding them up as I get older. LOL.

I’m still working through the paperwork but it’s definitely shrinking. If I leave the bills at the bottom of the pile long enough, will they disappear??

Good luck to all FDers and hope everyone has a great day.

Now look, I dont mind sharing, but honestly someone has stolen the sun completely!

Im going to take the opportunity to go out and grab a bit of shopping, then go walk around the village with Ellie whilst its cooler.

I have my hands on the baton and holding it firmly. Keep hold of it with me Jean, Steve and I cant remember who else…..the page has turned!!

Will check in later to report that all is well…..it will be because I want it to be a successful day šŸ˜€

    Hi,

The sun has been returned to my part of Scotland and hopefully will stay for the rest of the week.

The fast yesterday was ended this morning with porridge for breakfast it wasn’t an easy liquid fast this time but I know as soon as I eat I’ll want more so it’s the best option for me.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine if you are sharing it with us here in Scotland.

    Afternoon All

Still dull here but very warm…

Does anyone want Steve??…I got up thinking three easy jobs to do….oh No…we have been taking down bedroom wardrobes and three double overhead cupboards…all broken down now going to the tip on the way to shopping…so heavy…half done and half to go after holidays ..the mess…..2 hours worth of sweaty calorie burn….just showered and having a coffee…there’s keeping busy and keeping busy..šŸ˜‚

    Caz..
Glad the paper work is reducing and you have the sun…

    Kay..
Enjoy the walk as long as it’s dry Ellie won’t mind…it’s nice she still likes her walks and can manage..my hand is on the baton and the electric screwdriver…!!

    Tyhpoo..
Enjoy your day, the sun…and some lovely good food…

    Hi

Jean have you tried eBay you might get a good price for Steve ☺☺☺.

Have been out in the sunshine to do some shopping and managed to avoid all the cakes, crisps, sweets and chocolates I’m going to try and cut them out or at least reduce them to one a week.

Just going to have a milky coffee too Hemmy then off for our walk with Ellie.
Found a pet store on the industrial estate and bought some good grain free food and treats for her, it will take us a while to get the stuff unpacked as she has her head in the bags as soon as we get back home!

I want to get back in my size 12 clothes too. I refuse to buy any new clothes so at the moment I’m limited. Also I want to buy a couple of pairs of shorts but if I buy them now they will be either too tight at the mo or will need replacing soon, so I’m holding off!

Jean, you made me laugh about Steve! He’s helping you by keeping you both busy šŸ˜‚

It may be cloudy here but it’s still warm.

Caz, it’s great you are feeling good!

    Hemmy, nice and busy.

    Yep it’s only a day!!!!

    Dave..
Well done on the liquid…banned…poor you have you been upsetting someone…3 stone loss is a big amount…šŸ˜‚

    Tyhpoo..
I wouldn’t swap him…sometimes you just don’t want to chew about…he needs me to climb and crawl about as he can’t…..he can in his head…lol

    Kay..
Hope you got to the pet shop and had a good walk….beautiful here now…

Two weeks today off to the airport it’s coming really quick now…quite excited to see everyone and puppy..

    Jean x

    Hi all

Sun here today, but a light, coolish breeze.

Just pulled an old beanbag out into the trampoline in the garden… Very comfy.

The boy is finally bored (nearly managed 2 days so not bad) and throwing an old mini rugby ball into the trampoline enclosure to wind me up but I am as unflappable as the laziest creature sunning themselves in the zoo!

I have a meeting in an hour or so and the baby sitter will get here soon… So then he’s all hers.

He’s just crawled in for a snuggle/bounce – darn why is he so cute!

    Mx

    Hi Fat Busting Brits…Xx

Yay we are all doing brilliantly so far … just think how wonderful we are going to feel and look this summer.

Just took Mum home and she said I didn’t need to lose anymore weight… trouble is I am still in 14 tops but I am broad shouldered… .. plus would like for my own peace of mind to lose about another 6-7 lbs…so really not having to worry about the odd 2 weeks of holiday over indulging.

Brads… lovely to have the walks without having loads of wet towels after… been awful this winter.

Lolol Bet someone didn’t like you losing all that weight… Lol Glad you got back in again. Xx

Ty … Well done for avoiding all that sugar cardboard… there is lovely soft fruit around now… Please can I have some sun … quite windy here and a bit of a chill as no sunshine. Xx

Kay lol… I can just see Ellie nosing in the bags… so good she has her appetite… Bet she does get some nice treats. .. Mr Pips gets quite a few more than he should when Krisys here. Lol

Its a good idea to hold off buying any more clothes till you are happy to go the next size… I think your taste changes also when you get smaller. Styles you wouldn’t entertain before may then come into play.

I always refuse to buy something to just hang and get into… I tell myself if I work hard I can do it and its my fault that it doesn’t fit now lol .

Honestly Kay … you can do this easy peasy … you have done it before and now you are doing it again. Xx

Sym…You are both always doing jobs … you get things done busy bees. Lol

When I went to the Heart Centre in Oxford last week for the check on Mums Pacemaker … I did notice how lots not just a few especially young staff were very overweight… I sat and wondered how they managed to talk to the patients regarding weight… It reminded me when Andrew who had loved his food was told by the local nurse he needed to lose 2 stone… he said jokingly to her … its so hard though as you know… I see you like your food too. Lol He was naughty at times.

Glad May is over again … never seems a good month. Lovely June to enjoy now.

Chicken and salad sounds lovely enjoy it … just going to make my BLT.. feel much better now not all blown out.

Hope everyone else is doing well whether fasting or eating mindfully. Xx

    Testing, testing

Yes back on it, I think it was my VPN that was causing the problem.

    Evening all!
Hemmy- yes it is easier to fast when there’s salads about- & there’s you with your bacon butty! Hope you’ve stayed strong this evening! My Mum’s the same, keeps saying I don’t need to lose any more! I’ve noticed NHS staff seem particularly bad for being overweight too! (I know shift work isn’t easy & I used to find lates & nights awful, would eat so much to keep going, but even the outpatient clinic staff are bad!)
Kay- I’m sure Ellie’s glad that it’s not so hot! Hope you’ve been okay fasting today… Good idea holding off on the clothes; I went nearly a year like that, with only 2 pairs of jeans, trying to get the discipline to lose weight before last summer!
Dave- glad you’ve got your phone sorted. Don’t take any notice of the long range forecast- they’re never right!
Minols- you terrible mother you, fancy thinking you could have a few minutes peace enjoying the garden when your son’s about!!
Jean- I’ll have Steve, he sounds useful! Trouble is, I’d love to spoil him & feed him up (sponge & custard wasn’t it!) & send him back really fat for you to sort out! How long are your bedroom units going to take to get done if you’re taking apart the old stuff already?
Caz- well done yesterday, & yes I can see you today! šŸ™‚
Typhoo- well done as well, glad you have some sun for a change!
Had a catch up with a friend this morning, then Home-Start in the afternoon- when my tummy started rumbling really loudly! We went out early for dinner as the pub gets so busy later, lovely meal- cheese & no biscuits again instead of dessert…
    Keep strong everyone!
I’ll be back to fasting tomorrow- anyone else?

I hope the forecast is right, I used to do shifts then I just did night’s for the last 15 years. Still sunshine and blue skies here. Phone is great I had my VPN turned on, that’s why I was having problems logging in

    Hedgehog..
We are getting estimates but one place is my favourite depends on the prices…it will be after holidays..a man is coming tomorrow, we shall get three and see how the prices are…we have had one price too much…

Please don’t lead Steve on sponge and custard…….he will be running….lol…..( when he cant šŸ˜‚) you have had a busy day all sounds lovely…cheese and no biscuits you are very strong…

    Dave..
Glad you sorted the phone…we don’t want you banned…

    Minols..
Hope you enjoyed the sun…and the boy didn’t do wind you up too much…lol

    Hemmy..
I am very much maintaining and like you I would like 7 lbs more off but it’s not happening…I think my body is happy where it is…I shall continue if it does it does if not I am OK…
I agree a lot of NHS are over weight, shifts and presents of chocolate maybe…All is well here …ready for breakfast..

    Have a good evening…

    Jean x

    Hi Everyone… Xx

Brads… What a relief you are back on again and were not sabotaged for losing so much weight. Lol. Xx

Hedgehogs… I just love Cheese and grapes ..or any fruit really .. not bothered about the biscuits.

Lol I did have lettuce and tomato in my bacon sarnie… Oh it was enjoyable .

I have always found I can do this if I have stuff to eat on FDs that I really like … I don’t cheat then… If I go for something bland I just know I will be bored and eat more than ever.

I think the idea was to just eat 500 cals now it can be 600 of anything you want…

Luckily I do love fresh salad… and meat.. fish .. cheese .. eggs. Omelette is a favourite too .or scrambled .. boiled eggs… Xx

Day 2 no alcohol … yay.

Sym… think we just have to keep doing what we are doing… it has done us proud…we have kept the weight off for a good while now. Weight Watchers … slimming world … Slimfast… Cambridge all been tried .. worked for a while then got boring. 5-2 brilliant in my opinion. Xx

Well good night all hope your day has gone well whatever you have done. .. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. Lol Xxxx

Well I made it, just! I didnt manage a fluid only in the end, but I had no cals, apart from a semi skimmed coffee this afternoon, until half ago when I went into the kitchen to put the kettle on for my options hot choc drink as my treat, I suddenly had a craving for cheese and I before I knew it I was eating some feta type cheese and 2 oatcakes!!!! Measured the cals though and I chomped about 200 cals! Thats ok ☺ considering Ive not fasted for weeks and I went straight for a fluid only šŸ˜‰ and it was a fast of 24 hours!

I think Ive convinced myself have I convinced the rest of you!!!

Kay… Well done you girl… you did brilliantly… quick get in bed now.. soon be time to see a good result in the morning. Lol xxx

Well done everyone – and especially you, May. It is so good to get one done and successfully completed.

I’m fasting tomorrow… Heading south for a meeting so I’m looking forward to the drive. And plenty of distractions to help me hopefully.

If I could only breathe easily I’d be quite looking forward to it!

    Mx

Hedgehog – I’ll be fasting tomorrow too šŸ™‚

Minols – joining you in fasting šŸ™‚

Had a glum last two days but a fantastic weekend on the retreat. Food was a hit and everyone was delighted!

Jean – I hope you are having a. Great start to the week.

Here’s to tomorrow! May it be a success all round xx

    Morning all, yes it’s early!
Not slept very well and been awake for a bit reading. I’ve stumbled on Kate Harrison and the 5:2 and also the Dirty Diet which is 5:2 but aimed at better but health. I’m about to read some more as I don’t know how this fits with MM, although I think she was motivated by the horizon programme from MM and took it from there.
Anyone heard of her or read her books?
I’ve joined a FB group to find out more…

Morning, Kay… And everyone else who’s still a sleepyhead!

It’s another beautiful day up here. The last 5 weeks have been pretty perfect for me – light and bright but not too hot. The only down side is the hay-fever and this week having a cold on top of things.

As I said last night, I have a lovely drive south and east to meet with some of my favourite colleagues in a wee village where one of them is based. He usually makes scones for us (his speciality) and jam… Fortunately something I can resist quite easily! So hoping for a good FD alongside HH, Tatu and…? Who else?

    Catch up later everyone.

    Mx

    Hello everyone

This is a busy little thread, so lovely, although bit behind with all the craic. It does seem as if everyone is doing really really well and motivation is high.

Hip X-ray showed progressive osteoarthritis and doctors advice was to take more pain killers which I’m afraid I just ignore. Trying to follow an anti inflammatory diet comibuned with 5:2 as convinced that will help with both psoriasis as well as arthritis. I really don’t want to get into a vicious cycle of pain killers and steroid creams, causing side effects and rebounds.

Weight a couple of pounds down but can’t say it’s easy but hoping it gets easier over time as I identify triggers.

Travelling a bit more over the next 3 weeks, off to Manchester this morning and then on to Birm tonight.

    CW

Good morning Kay ..Mino Cakey and all. Xx

Looks a brighter day here .but cooler .. better for the garden.

Just weighed and still have 1lb to get back to normal before starting on the 7lbs.

Decided I am on my own today to try another 600 day.

Kay.. just had a look at Kate she sounds interesting will have a look later. Xx

Mino..Oh scones .. how lovely with homemade jam… Enjoy .Xx

Cakey… well done not going down the meds road if you can help it… Think what we eat does make a difference with weight controlled. … well done on the lost lbs. Xx

Have a good day everyone pottering for me.. lovely.

    Brit Lovelies..

We can hit the reset button. Whatever happened yesterday, forget about it. Get a new perspective. Today is a new day. Fresh start, begins now.ā€ Xx

    Morning All…
    A dull one this morning…

Off to have my toes painted this morning..they last about 5 weeks a treat for me..just can’t do them myself and do a good job these days, a darker polish so has to be perfect…man pricing up this pm for wardrobes..

    Tatu..
Glad your yoga weekend went well and they enjoyed your food…have a good fast today…

    Kay..
I have not seen these books I will investigate later…what are you thinking of the FB groups? Any good ideas or a slant on us, some are very big groups…I have dived in one of yours and another…definitely keeping here how could I not…lol

    Minols..
Enjoy your trip up north hoping the hay fever calms down…Steve’s an early hay fever sufferer maybe grass he’s ok now..

    Cakey Wakey..
Sorry to hear about your hip…like you if you can follow some healthy options it would be better..leave the tablets for a lot later if you have too…a busy few weeks for you ….take care..good news on the couple of pounds off….

    Hemmy..
We are exactly the same..1 lb more off for me and fingers crossed for another 7 wishful pounds….lol..have a good day pottering that sounds like the garden and a lovely walk…

Hedgehog, Lynne, Dave, Pseu, Typoo, Caz have a good day whatever you are doing…anyone else, some newbies left??..Jenny, Chardonnay??

    Jean x

Morning all- have been up for hours but only just got round to logging in… & lots going on all ready!
Kay- well done on your FD! Not heard of either of the diet versions you mentioned- the dirty diet, what’s that? (Sounds like something which might appeal to hubby, wink, wink!)
Cakey- osteoarthritis giving you that much pain already is not good, painkillers are not great to start, but sometimes if your quality of life is being affected that much then it’s better than suffering, have to get the balance right… Hope the anti-inflammatory diet works for you!
Minols- have a good day! Hope the cold & hayfever get better soon…
Tatu- glad the food on the retreat went down well, good luck fasting today!
Jean- okay, I won’t borrow Steve!
Lynne- have a good day off, hope some painting or whatever you need to do gets done without the one kitten pestering!
Well, I had a really dodgy stomach last night, either too much cheese or the magnesium supplements I’ve taken for cramp, or maybe just from extended fasting, who knows! I’d planned to go straight into another fast, but not sure now- hubby had a moan about it not being good for me (I know it is overall, just a little blip, but didn’t want to argue the point at 11pm!), so am thinking about having a light day & then see. Nothing so far…

Good morning everyone. In a typical British fashion I will begin with the weather report šŸ™‚ Slightly breezy but sun’s still out in in Scotland. Glad it’s not baking hot as I plan to do a bit of gardening today. I’m fasting today, possibly liquids only but I’ll see how the day goes.

Well done to everyone that fasted yesterday and happy fasting to all that are joining me today.

No sun here yet, maybe later.

Jumped on the scales and 3lbs down so almost back to where I was before holiday. Just got to keep it going now but I’m quite motivated at the moment!

Caz, so you, Minols and Typh00 have the sun it seems? Are you up for sharing? Hope you get the gardening done, I’ve also got some to do today. Good luck with the fasting. Keep the hands on the baton!

CW, sorry to hear about your hip but hoping you can find something more natural to tackle the pain and inflammation. I’m looking at the different natural remedies including essential oils and hemp oil etc

Hedgehog, hope your upset tummy isn’t anything other than just a bit upset. Just read that whilst b2b fasts are ok, anything more than 2 consecutive days aren’t recommended.

Minols, enjoy your drive out, hope the breathing isn’t too bad! I would have to be very strong on the scones! Good luck.

Jean, dark red toe nails again or something else? I just took my toe nail varnish off last night so will need to repaint them today. I’m going for something bright I think, but of course a universal colour??? Hope the estimate today is more reasonable.

Tatu, sounds like the retreat went well. What’s cooking next?

Going to hold off eating til 12 and reduce my eating window today.

    Keep strong people x

    Morning everyone

Nicer day today, yesterday was quite cold and windy, always feel better when the sun’s out.

Hedgehogs, no decorating today. Got a list of jobs I need to do including jet washing the decking again, and going to try and do some planning today. Just housework, ironing and taxi for Bec as she’s got a couple of lessons this afternoon and tutor tonight.

CW, busy week for you. What foods are you thinking cause your inflamation? I’ve tried to cut out gluten hearing it helps my autoimmune thyroid problem but do slip up sometimes.

Hemmy, I always think your garden must be wonderful. Mine is quite stark apart from a few tubs and a wonderful clematis. Must think about a rejig.

Jean, I think you’re a wonderful apprentice, but maybe a bit late for a new career. Not long now until holiday, but still chance to shed a couple of pounds.

Minols, enjoy your trip today. I feel your hay fever pain, I suffer with allergic rhinitis, so get the same symptoms but all year around and can be triggered by any strong smell. Have tissues will travel.

Dave, glad you sorted out your phone, we don’t want to lose you.

Caz & Typh00 hope you’re still enjoying some good weather, but don’t be greedy and share with the rest of us.

Kay, early start for you. I was reading posts in bed with a coffee at seven and at first thought it was one of your late night posts.

Just having a quick cuppa, then back to sorting out some kitchen cupboards. Hannah has a bit of a storage container addiction and I need to find room for her collection. Think I’ll just amalgamate it into my stuff and promise to buy her new when she moves out, probably not for a couple of years.

Mondays liquid FD was great and I extended it until 7pm yesterday. Going to try for another one tomorrow, they seem so much easier than eating and I felt I could have carried on yesterday’s if I hadn’t already planned meals.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

    Lynne x

Hello one and all,not much sun today but warm, Hedgehogs I know the soap didn’t work so plan B put cork under your bedsheet.Or try the soap on top of the bedsheet.Lamb steak for dinner tonight, I love that with mint sauce. Sorry if your fasting, I will have a look at the dirty diet, and Facebook.

Taking a break from weeding. Where do they all come from?? So far so good this morning. Only had tea and water so far. I do feel a bit peckish but nothing too bad. The sun is still shining here. I am willing to share a few rays but not too many!!

Lynne – I read your post about gluten with interest. My daughter has a gluten and lactose intolerance and I always cooked gluten free when she was living at home. To be honest, it became the norm for me but once she moved out, I went back to food containing gluten and then 2 years ago I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Maybe there’s a connection? I’m going to do a bit of research into this as my consultant has suggested radioactive iodine treatment for me and I’m very unsure if I want to go down that road. I’m due to see him next month so will discuss the gluten with him then.

CakeyWakey – Sorry to hear about your osteoarthritis. I really hope you can combat the pain with a specific diet rather than painkillers. I understand your concern over the side effects.

Jean – Good for you getting your toes nails done. That’s something I’m considering as I struggle to reach my toes easily now. Not just the weight but the good old hip pain as well. Oh the joys of getting older! Mind you, hopefully as the weight falls off me, the pain will improve.

Minols – Oooooh scones and jam. Now my mouth is watering. I can do this. I will not give in!!! šŸ˜‰

hedgehogs – Hope your upset tummy is settling down.

Right, back to the garden for me. I’m sure more weeds have grown whilst I wasn’t looking!

    Hi All…
    Kay…
Toes done and boring old Blood Red…last 20 years ..lol…it just goes with everything…the Shellec is good I can get 5 weeks out of it…new girl and she was very good Ā£14.40..strange price but usually Ā£20..I did take my old polish off so maybe a reduction…

Scales very good for you at 3 lbs off..mine just won’t move…that’s really great…

    Hedgehog..
Hope your tummy settles and it’s not what I had…take care my lovely a bit of TLC…

    Caz..
Enjoy your day hope it’s an easy one..keeping busy with the weeding…I have been spot weeding with a spray…when I was heavy I struggled to get to my toes all the huffing and puffing, Steve said just go and have them done…I am much better now but it’s my eyes I can’t see with my varifocals… I make a dogs dinner of it…

    Lynne…
Doubt if I will loose anything before holiday…but definitely will put on..lol..😬…daughter likes the red wine of an evening, lots of chatting..it’s good you learn all sorts out…šŸ˜‚..American bottles are two litres big!!..hopefully not 9 lbs on like last time..😱

It’s hard trying to loose stuff within your cupboards, maybe easier to do that then buy when she’s ready to move on again….lovely to have them both home again, a nice bit of company for you…….I am slowly condensing my wardrobe space I have too…not doing too bad…

    Hemmy..
What are you up too..in the garden?…nice walk with Mr Pips….

    Jean x

    Dave..
I missed you my flower…enjoy your lamb and mint sauce…our sort of thing…ummm

    Jean x

Deliberating wether to do Yorkshire’s with my lamb, decisions, decisions,I just took my car bodywork for him to have a look at the scratch on the door,he said he will have to do two doors , the other for is tiny scratches on it, the is also a scratch on the panel under the door, he asked if I wanted that doing too fearing it would cost too much I said no, he said he would do it all forĀ£350 but seeing that I am friends with Carl who recommended him he is going to charge Ā£250 so I am taking it in on Friday morning.

    Hi Fast Busting Brits. Xx

Yay Yay .. we have lots of Sun in Oxfordshire. Lol

Well its turned out beautiful… glorious sunshine. Had a smashing walk so very uplifting… One of the fields I walk.. is always half left to wild flowers … today covered in white moon daisies and the other half wheat / Barley all green and lush… blue sky above ..so very peaceful .. all things that are natural and free.

I was a bit naughty and picked a small bunch of daises and some cow parsley… was very sheepish coming out as one of my neighbours told me off when she caught me with cowslips. I know you shouldn’t pick them but there were so many.. look beautiful in my window. Lol

Lynne and Sym… as you know I LOVE my garden .. its looking good with all the rain and sun.. Neighbour just given me a root of the biggest poppies I have ever seen so vibrant ….

Lynne … why don’t you just plant bits that will all blend in together .. its a proper garden look .. lots of shrubs are good don’t need much attention and are there summer winter .. Xx

Well done Kay on the 3lbs girly .. you have cracked this again n stopping you now. Xx

Sym.. you sound very glam .. makes me feel quite scruffy looking at the toenails. Getting lazy with no males around. Lol Xx

Have a good day everyone… whatever you are doing.

I want to still be able to garden while I can bend over….. Barbara Bush

Brads… there is no choice … of course you must have Yorkshires with the lamb.. lol

Well done its a good price for getting that work done. Xx

CW sorry to hear of arthritis, I’m sure a good anti-inflam diet will help perhaps think about some help to boost nutrients with supplements – minami EPA fish oils, curcumin, and quercetin and bromolaine by higher nature are pretty fab.

Kay – fasting today but tonight will be tiger prawn, lemon zest and Petits pois risotto serve with pan fried wild sea bass, peashoot salad, blistered green beans with toasted pine nuts and a burnt garlic and butternut squash purĆ©e. If I can avoid eating it that will be a feat!

Currently running a hot bath after a morning of meetings, filled with essential oils, and a book on mitochondrial importance in health and disease prevention. Figured it might save me from raiding my kitchen – already enjoyed a crunchy green apple for lunch and a tangerine earlier. I’m convinced this will be a successful fast day, another to follow on Friday! Definitely easier when busy busy!

Hedgehog and minols – how are you holding up?

I’m hell bent on heading to my 24hr gym after work tonight to encourage a little gentle cardio before bed, tomorrow my fiancĆ©e and I are going to check out some stones/rings in Hatton gardens! Exciting! It’s incredibke what you can learn in a day in that street!

Happy Wednesday everyone, hope it’s a great one for everyone!

    Dave…
How can you do meat any meat without Yorkshire’s that would be a crime….I can smell it…umm..I have cooked a ham joint for us….rather have lamb with Yorkshire’s…

    Hemmy..
Definitely not glam..lol..although our new house rule we have to leave the house tidy/ smart…we give way to our local food shopping town where we might go out in shorts ….never leave the house without makeup or hair done…

Your walk sounded rather lovely, these fields left are nice for the wild life and such beautiful meadow flowers…

    Tatu…
Your meal must be for your job..it sound rather nice and posh…if you are fasting….how exciting going out to buy a ring..what setting would you like? .are wedding bells coming soon….tell us about it..please…hope you get to the gym…

Jean – yes most definitely for work.
If I word it differently it will sound less fancy – fried fish, but of squishy rice with peas and a prawn. Some mashed orange veg and a bit of green stuff cuz it looks nice… šŸ™‚

    Hi all

Well, aborted the FD. I got to the meeting and my friend had made a sponge and he looked a bit worried that no gone would eT it. And by that time I was feeling like death warmed up so I had a piece. When my mind wandered towards the end I realised that it was actually tomorrow I’d planned to have as A FD this week as that is one the OH is home to eat the ribs I have for him and the boy… So I’ve let myself off the hook.

Felt so ill by the time I got home that I didn’t go into the office but let myself have a doze on the trampoline! Ivm working this evening, so if I can work late I should get caught up. And the OH will be coming in at midnight so maybe that’s a good plan after all.

Well done to the rest of you for fasting… And Dave – the lamb does nothing for me, but enjoy yourself!

Tatu- sounds lovely (the first description, not the second!) Well done if you get to the gym after work too! Happy ring hunting tomorrow!
Jean- rarely do my toe nails, I don’t have proper nails on my little toes, I guess clear would be okay & smarten them up a bit… you put me to shame!
    Hemmy- that walk sounded wonderful!
Minols- hope you feel better soon, & get caught up with the work…
Dave- enjoy your lamb! The price sounds great to get the car done, jump at it!
Caz- hope the weeding’s done- mine don’t show unless you look closely as the flower beds are quite packed… keep busy on FDs is the best idea!
Lynne- hope you’ve found homes for all Hannah’s stuff, & hope things are going well for Becs. What will she do when the exams are finished- is she going to get a summer job?
Kay- well done on 3lbs off! Hope you’ve had some sun today? I think it was just the fasting & then eating well afterwards upset me- on keto people do extended fasts for days, (Jason Fung & others recommend it) but it seems to be a common side effect. Hopefully I won’t need to do EF much as I hope I’ll lose the last couple of pounds soon!
Decided to eat 2 smaller meals today instead, didn’t eat until 2pm- I had a Home-Start meeting. I’ll keep supporting the family I’m with until the end of term, then will get a new family… Sat in the garden in the sun when my mum popped round, back to doing funny mealtimes for everyone today… eldest back safely from Lincoln so that’s a relief! No more trips up there for a while hopefully!

Jean, Denise said would you have a Yorkshire pudding with strawberry jam, she used to when she was a girl. Definitely having puds now, must go and make them.

Still staying strong! Weeding done for the day. I’ve also dismantled an old office chair and assembled a new one. Had a quick flick and hoover round downstairs. Now got to get out to recycle centre to drop off old chair. Hopefully it will be of some use to somebody if they feel inclined to repair it.
Trying to keep busy but flagging a bit now.

Brads27 – Sounds like you got a price for your car repairs. As far as the yorkshires go, of course you have to have them with lamb. All this talk of food is not good for me!

Weetybee – How exciting for you to be ring hunting. Let us know what you decide on.

hemmy – I love wild flowers. I have designated the top of my garden as a wild area. I scattered a box full of wild flower seeds a while ago but unfortunately all that is growing is grass (very long now!) and dandelions. I might have to rethink it.

Minols – Hope you’re feeling better after your trampoline snooze šŸ™‚

Jean – I think Steve was right in advising you to go get those toes done. I have a vision of your entire toe being painted red if left to your own devices šŸ˜‰

Is it just me or does anybody else enjoy seeing their washing out on the line drying. OK.. maybe I’m a bit weird.

Hope all fasters are staying strong and please… no more mention of what you non fasters are eating tonight!! šŸ˜‰

Forgot to mention I went round to my daughter’s, not seen her for a while and the first thing she said was”you have lost weight” so that’s good.

    Hello
I turn my back for 2 mins and you’re at it again. How’s a girl supposed to catch up with 30 posts.

Quote of the day has to be ā€œsnooze on the trampolineā€, conures up such an image, yet we can all imagine you three with lovely squishy beanbag.

Delicious smell on the train, think someone is eating warm pasty, at the same time as in reading about toast lamb and mint sauce. I’m like the bisto kid.

I do like my toes painted but less fussy about my fingers. I do like bright colours but recently found lovely natural one. Not sure where I read it but looks classy and batural if anyone fancies trying it. It’s called Ballet Slippers by Essie and allegedly the queen wears it as she doesn’t do bright colours.

Anti inflammatory diet avoids nightshade veg like tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, aubergine etc but also sugar, dairy, white flour/rice/pasta, gluten, caffeine, alcohol. Can feel very limited but have figured out alternatives for most things. Also increasing oily fish, pro biotic yoghurt and things for healthy gut. Also taking fish oil and vit D supplements. I did feel big improvement in skin after a week but wasn’t sure if it was coincidence. Let things slip for a few days and skin flared so feeling more motivated to keep going.

Strangely not fasting today but not hungry. On 200 Cala so far and instead of raiding M&S food at the station for snacks I ended up buying (because I fancied) pomegranate seeds???? Will be expected to go out for dinner tonight so hope I can stay focussed and keep it a good day.

Lynne – didn’t realise hannah moving back home for good, had assumed she’d be back at uni next September. Is that her finished now?

Caz – I’m totally with you re the washing, gives me such a sense of joy. Def not weird.

Tatu – your menu sounds so appetising; just goes to show the difference it makes when described so beautifully.

    Loving the quotes hemmy.

Hello to everyone else, but better stop there asthis is already the longest post in the history of posts

Sorry about the atrocious typos. I didn’t check it and I can’t edit. Hopefully it makes a little bit of sense or you can figure out what I was trying to say

    Tatu..
You are funny…it sounded very posh…hope they liked it….

    Minols..
Sponge cake ummm you can’t not have a piece…hoping you soon feel better..

    Hedgehog..
Lovely to get to sit out in the garden with Mum…glad to have the family around you..mother hen lol..

    Dave…
As a child I had sugar on Yorkshire’s….how could I…yukky…no jam…lovely your daughter noticed the weight loss…

    Caz…
I just love washing on the line…especially a full line of nappy’s blowing in the wind …lol…not strange..

    Cakey Wakey…
Hoping the anti flammatory diet works for you it’s seems a bit extreme but if it works cut back the best you can…all the smells on the train and reading about the lovely meals we are all eating, not so good if travelling.

My man come with the quote for the bedroom, still a bit high but nearer to what we expected, another on Wednesday…then it’s make your mind up time…

    Have a good evening…we are fasting tomorrow…

    Jean x
