  • Cakey- I can’t imagine that you have any time for housework, working the hours you do & with your dog & gardening to do- I don’t have that excuse!! Hope you have a lovely time with your daughter coming to stay; any wedding bells yet? Good that you can keep in touch with daughter no.2 easily!
Jean- glad your FD went well! I bought a really big tub of chia seeds from Tescos, although I think last time I looked they’d gone up a lot! Have a look on Amazon otherwise?
Dave- that’d be nice to help another neighbour out, if the dogs get on & don’t pull you in different directions. I’ve had a couple of nasty experiences with rotties, I can’t go near them now šŸ™
Glasses collected, bought olives & some yummy expensive cheese from a deli while I was out- not sure when I’ll eat them now as still fasting! Maybe at the weekend! Spinach plants survived the rain & are looking quite strong now!
No housework done yet, I keep finding other things to do! (Like looking for somewhere nice to go away for hubby’s birthday in October- he’s spending his inheritance!)
Anyone fasting? Sounds like it’ll be nearly everyone tomorrow!

There is a woman who lives in the next street to me who has 3 rotties, they surrounded Heidi but she gets on with any dog’s, the dog I said I would take out used to jump all over Heidi when it was a pup.

    Hedgehog..
Just bought some chai seeds from Aldi I went there special..Ā£1.20 for 200gr, I bought two packets ..I think some of the bigger supermarkets cost more money…I couldnā€™t find my shredded coconut I shall look on line…glad your seeds survived, a cold and damp day here..looking posh in your new glasses..šŸ˜Ž…l hope you are pleased with them…

Where are you taking hubby for his birthday??…yes like you we are spending the kids inheritance..hoping for a big holiday next year if Steve can get insurance we are both on big birthdays…

    Dave…
You are so good to people all the helping out you do…I could do with someone like you..šŸ˜€..hope you are pleased with the phone…

Pile of ironing to do..clear the holiday bits and pieces…having coffee now…waiting for daughter to ring from Florida …looks like she has a few house problems from the last hurricane, a roof mans there..sounds expensive..šŸ¤ž

Afternoon all, second day back in work, though yesterday my car battery died so I didn’t get into work until late, was a bit of a nightmare trying to get it sorted. I’ve been in hibernation for my days off so bit behind on the comments, hope everyone is doing well.

    Hi Jean,

Thanks for the welcome. Iā€™ll be able to start 5:2ing Thai coming week and Mondays are easy to join in with although Thursday could be a battle BUT Iā€™ll give it a go if it is too tricky Iā€™ll do Fridays instead šŸ™‚

I tried this week but as my partner is home this week and not at work itā€™s a bit tricky, who knows he might even be interested in joining me with it!

    All the best

    Tatu

    Evening All…

I made my granola with desiccated coconut hope it turns out tasty..altered the recipe put different nuts and I shall throw some raisins in at the finish….had a lazy afternoon …ironing tomorrow now…

We have plusnet coming tomorrow as broadband keeps dropping out..after speaking to them three times today they have decided itā€™s a problem at our end…

    Pseu..
Hope you had a lovely weekend…you was going away with your parents I think…hope your cars sorted out..

    Tatu..
Hope you get your days sorted, itā€™s easy to change days thatā€™s no problem….which day are you weighing in, best to keep to same day..usually the morning after your second fast, first thing in the morning…my hubby is fasting with me so I find it easier…with OH and people with children about it must be really hard….

Starting our fast now into tomorrow..

    Have a good evening…

    Jean x

Phone is great, still learning what it can do, just took Heidi out for her third and last walk of the day, not seen Willow so couldn’t take her, her owner takes her to the park just behind where I live at 6am, no chance of me being there at that time šŸ˜„šŸ¤© Haddock and salad for my tea(dinner). Under my limit again for the day, FD tomorrow, so hopefully I will lose weight again this week.

Late in the day for clocking in as I had a major meeting first thing and then just chased my tail the rest of the day.

I’ve not eaten particularly well, but remembered just in time my bag of porridge here at the office so it could have been worse.

One last meeting to go, and then I need a reasonably early night – hoping it stays cloudy tonight and therefore darker…don’t sleep much past 4am otherwise in summer. Tomorrow is a FD and it’s got to be a good one as given I’m trying to weigh just once a month I’m due to weigh in on Friday.

BTW took the boy to the barbers for his first proper man-cut…he is so gorgeous! (My boy, not the barber!)

    Mx

    Dave..
Good luck to your weigh in on Saturday…we will be with you tomorrow…

    Minols..
A man cut…how lovely a very smart boy…hoping you get home early…a few of us fasting tomorrow ..

    Jean x

    Hi Everyone. Xx

Had a good day … Just milky coffee for breakfast … small sandwich lunch .. Ham salad dinner and fruit. Not a FD but decent. Lol

Only one FD this week as Kristy here tomorrow evening till Sunday. Feeling good though day 2 no Cider. Lol Be hard tomorrow …

Weather .. very damp today .. did 2 hours over the fields with my boy .. got soaked to the knees. Lovely with all the blossom though. lol

Flowers on my outdoor Tomato and chilly plants but need some sun.

Good luck all folk on FD tomorrow… Be mindful everyone else. Xx

Minols- lovely for your boy, I did grade 3’s with clippers for a long time with my 2, they were always scared of going to the barbers! Hope you get an early night- I’m with you on the early starts, but at least you get lots done!
Tatu- hope you can get your partner alongside, it would make life easier! Mine can’t fast, he has funny sugar levels & goes too low.
Hemmy- walk sounded lovely, haven’t had time since the weekend. What sort of dog do you have?
Jean- not long now until Florida? How are the puppies all doing?
Dave- hope the scales reflect all your hard work!!
Pseudo- did you enjoy your break? Cars are a pain…
Cakey- hope you could get on with work & the migraine’s not washed you out…
Lynne- how did your fast go?
    Hope everyone else is okay?
House is a bit cleaner now!Made a keto quiche for me & hubby tonight, & I had strawberries & cream afterwards, yum! Fasting tomorrow too, most of us?

    Evening everyone

Yesterdayā€™s liquid fast went really well, despite/because of 2 lattes in work, and I continued it until 3pm today, so about 45 hours.

Jean, when do you go away, canā€™t be long now.

CW, Hannah went to SE Asia for 7 weeks last summer. I got a daily text and that was about it, but the time difference meant it came through at around 3am.

Hedgehogs, glad your veg survived the rain, weā€™re never happy with the weather, too hot or too cold, too dry or too wet. But then we are Brits.

Hemmy, Iā€™ve thought of you quite often, knowing youā€™ve been where I am. Iā€™ve missed you.

Dave, youā€™re such a good neighbour you put me to shame.

Minols, the boy is growing up. I remember going with my Dad and brother to the barbers. My brother say on a plank of wood across the arms of the barberā€™s chair for the obligatory short back and sides. To get to it you went through a door at the back of a newsagents and it always made me think of Mr Ben.

Tatu, good luck with getting your partner on board, I think itā€™s easier if they do it with you, or at least if those closest to you know youā€™re fasting, even if they donā€™t understand how you can do it.

Pseudo, hope the weather picks up for the walking festival. Are you planning to do many of the walks?

Typh00, Kay et al, hope youā€™re all doing well.

Tomorrow was supposed to be a FD for me, but my team is going to the carvery for lunch as someone is moving departments, so I know itā€™s not going to happen. May try Friday instead, weā€™ll see.

Busy day today, nipped into work to try to sort out may laptop so I could work from home tomorrow morning, but no luck. Had to raise a request for it to be set up to work remotely. I wouldnā€™t mind but I canā€™t use it in the office as Iā€™m still waiting for a docking station, so at the moment itā€™s just additional weight to carry back and forth.

Also helped Hannah to bring home a few big bits that wouldnā€™t fit in her car. Sheā€™s moving back in dribs and drabs. Got conned into helping clean windows and mirrors whilst I was at the student house, but only her room. I wouldnā€™t mind cleaning the house providing they all left and took their junk with them. Hannahā€™s going to be nagging them all to clean for the next month. Sooner them than me, sheā€™s relentless.

Good luck anyone fasting tomorrow, seems like quite a few of you.

    Lynne x

Will try to do another liquid FD tomorrow,it certainly helps, because of I have food on a fast day I always feel hungry after it.

    Morning All…
I have got up before the sun….Steve mooching about about 5 am and disturbed me..so downstairs waiting for him to wake up for his cuppa…granola turned out very well and a bit different yesterday, I do enjoy it only a couple of tablespoons with fruit.

Waiting in for Plus Net man to come and look at the broadband so a few jobs to catch up with inside and out…

    Fastingwith the mass fast today..

    Hemmy..
You will be looking forward to Kirsty coming with boyfriend, put fasting aside and enjoy their company…will Mum be joining you?

    Lynne…
Enjoy your carvery today you can always fit a fast in tomorrow….I think we go away about your time 19th, is it Greece, where you are going….it will be lovely to get away with the girls, itā€™s been a hard past year…

Itā€™s surprising how much they collect while away, I remember the car runs what followed after uni finished…and where do you put it….I donā€™t envy you that one…

    Dave..
Good luck on your liquid fast today….

    Have a good day everyone…

    Jean x

    Morning all!
Wow, Jean you’re on early! Makes the FD longer though!! Glad your granola turned out okay. No walks this week?
Lynne- well done with the fast- we’ll all be extending them soon! & you started the liquid fasts, Lynne! Good luck with clearing out Hannah’s stuff! & enjoy the carvery tonight…
Dave- hope you do as well on your FD today!
Nothing planned for today, waiting in for a parcel & for the garden to be finished, he got on well yesterday.
Keep strong fasters! (Have succumbed to white coffee, couldn’t face black, but otherwise feel fine about fasting!)

Good morning Sym.. Hedgehogs and all. Xx

Another grey day here with thunderstorms threatening.

Hedgehogs .. I have a 6yr old liver and white Springer Spaniel . very active would enjoy the shoot as a real working dog. I couldn’t face the dead birds though.

Have a good FD today. Xx

Lynne .. its not easy forging a big change in your life. Going back to work will help with socialising.. although sometimes you just want your own little world. A nice holiday will be lovely for you. Take care. Xx

Brads .. hope that phone is going ok.. lots to work out and keep you busy. Good luck with the Liquid fast. Xx

Sym… Only the second time of meeting the OH. Last time alarms went off at 3 am .. so hopefully nothing untoward this time. Loved the previous one .. lived together for 3 years ..split after Andrew passed and came home for 2 years.. then went back to London and shared with 2 other girls. Talking of buying with this one so fingers crossed… Although they do seem to do a lot separately.. maybe I am old fashioned and that’s the way of today. Lol

Hope your day goes well and good results tomorrow with weigh in. Xx

    Have a good day Brit Lovelies… . Don’t forget…

You are not stuck where you are unless you decide to be.ā€ xx

    Hedgehog…
Glad the front garden is coming together…good when you can get someone to do it…maybe finished today..

No walks for us as Steveā€™s back a lot better but very iffy and it is still knocking about…we are going to see Manchester daughter šŸ˜¬on Saturday but if heā€™s no better I think it will be another day…we are planned to see daughter and puppy in Torfen, Wales a week Friday so hope heā€™s a lot better to pull the caravan…

Puppy now 13 weeks and 40 lbs in weight heā€™s going to be a big boy..just loves swimming keeps going in the stream and a lake at the edge, canā€™t keep him out..we laugh as everyone thinks heā€™s a Newfoundland!

    Hemmy..
No wonder you walk a lot with Mr Pips..Springers are known for their energy..must keep you very fit which is good…we are doing Nordic Walking two or three times a week about a hour at a time, Steve canā€™t do much more but the poles help, he only used to do 30 mins so they are helping..trying to strengthen his legs..

Me with the bug last week and his back this week..no walking at the moment…although I did get one hour in over our break he was watching F1.

I am with you really..strange to do things separately…we do everything together, joined at the hip..lol…not really we do separate things at home, about but not together, Steve likes his garage, and I can clean up properly given a chance..we are just comfortable together……

Hope it works for Kirsty itā€™s nice to have someone in your life..as long as itā€™s the right one..have a nice time with them and get to know him…

Must keep busy, lots of bitty jobs I can do….

    Jean x

Up early myself today, taking Denise for her physio at the hospital, and just got a text from my mate he is coming to repair my car tomorrow morning so will be another early day, someone scratched the side of my car so he will fix it, he goes to speedway and used to be one of the manager’s where I worked. one cup of tea up to now, loving the new phone, it’s specks are almost as good has the iPhone X but it cost half the price. Won’t be going back to Samsung after this one.

Hi all – feeling a bit wabbit this morning…starting to link it in my head to a day when I have too much sugar. I’m going to watch and see if I routinely wake up ‘hung over’ the next day.

So I’ll fast today, but might also go home and hide under the duvet for a while later…see if a wee nap helps!

Brought the old dog in to the office this morning (that shows how slow I was – he didn’t get his walk before school!), partly to see if he could make it this far. No bother at all. He’s definitely better on grass because you can hear his back claws scuffing on pavement at the end of the walk, but he’s happy for the variety and the company, I think…although now he’s snoring noisily behind the door! Good job the carpet is grey and the cleaner loves him…he’s shedding badly and can’t bear being brushed so don’t come near unless you’re wearing grey!

Right – off to stoke up on the coffee…might even have caffeine in it this time!

    mx

The office is getting chilly and I’m getting hungry. But at least that last coffee has woken me up so I can get some work achieved.

Going to make a decaf now – nice and strong for the hunger, nice and hot for the warmth.

    Stay strong everyone…

    Mx

Back from hospital and having my second cuppa, thinking about food but not hungry yet.I will go and get the car cleaned ready for the bodywork to be sorted tomorrow,I was struggling to put some music on my phone so after some research I found a brilliant program that transfers things from pc to Mobil, Android or iOS,I have lots of music on my old laptop and to my amazement I have got fast diet books on it too, was trying to think of the name of the program I use for transferring books to my Kindle from my laptop.

    Hi Jean,

    What is OH?

Good news my partner is onside as he is keen to lose the extra squish around his middle šŸ™‚ we started our first fast today. Konyaki noodles soup and lime, chilli, ginger and plenty of greens featured for my lunch and tonight I planned heaps of steamed veggies, broccoli sprout and romaine lettuce salad with toasted cumin seeds and lemon juice as a dressing for us both.
In the evening – a delicious cup of coco made with hot water, freshly grated ginger and a little honey.

Thanks for the tip on weighing and days, very helpful šŸ™‚

Would you advise for or against adopting a lower carbohydrate diet for our regular food days? We arenā€™t massively into loads of grains, potatoes etc, I probably love them
More than my partner who is a cheese, olive oil, all he dips kind of guy.

    Thanks so much!

I think I need to change my route with Heidi,I walk past a cafe,a bakery that sells sandwiches add pies and then a chip shop.I missed the hockey last night so I am watching it now.

    Hi Fat Brits. Xx

Hello Weety lovely to meet you… your food today sounds wonderfully tasty.

OH is as in Other Half. If I like my daughters partner enough after this week-end he will be ” My lovely Phil” lolol till then will be known as OH. Xx

Well my dear friends … I can see now how it is oh so much easier just catering for

yourself… just come back with so much shopping … lots of naughty stuff and wines.

What can you do … I cant expect two young people to be sensible with food in their leisure time.

Old days before 5-2 way of eating I would buy up all the offers on naughty bits… I am I am sure like most on here known for my good stock of goodies… ( that’s how we originally got here Lolol ) .

Be interesting to see how I do with it all … as had no inclination to snacking for ages.

A sensible start anyway with Salmon .. for dinner … its what comes after lol.

Good job maybe something told me time to return here… Will tell tomorrow. lol.

Aww Mino … a lovely picture you paint of your 4 legged friend … bet he does love the company .. they love being near you. Sitting here now with my boys head on my feet a wonderful feeling.Xx

Keep Mindful all the fasters… Xx

    Afternoon all.
Not been doing well on fasting this week, fasting through the day is no problem, as usual, but then I’m going a bit nuts in the late evening. Trying to use up the last of my pasta, I gave most of it away, and plan to palm off anything that’s left this weekend… beans, instant mash, cereals… farewell all. My plan next week is to not add carbs to things, but not keep a close enough eye to write things down, start to ease into it and then once the walking festival is over I’ll start doing keto properly.
My fossil hunting beach trip last week went well, I didn’t stay as long as planned as I somehow got the tide times wrong, but came home with a tub of fossilised gryphaea shells, no whole ones but I’m still quite pleased with my haul.
Planning to fast today, but knowing how the rest of the week has been… we’ll see. Not being able to run for a few weeks hasn’t helped my motivation, though I think my hip is finally healed, so maybe I’ll get back into that next week too – between all my walks! Two of them are talks along with the walks, which I’m really looking forward to, especially the one on Monday which is all about the castles of Gower. I love me a good castle. šŸ˜€
My birthday on Saturday, planning to go on a boat trip up the river, and then probably have food out. Pretty busy week ahead, which means it could go either way with the fasting.

Hope everyone fasting is holding strong today and that you’re in the zone more than I am! Welcome to Weety, I’m sure someone else has already said this, but make sure you measure your waist, hips etc, it can be a big help with motivation when you see the measurements changing even if the scales don’t.

Feeling very hungry now and every TV advert is about food šŸ˜®šŸ˜®šŸ˜® Denise is getting her good ready, liver and veg,YUK,I wouldn’t have that no matter how hungry I get. Drank 3/4 of a litre of water up to now so doing well with that.

    Hi All..
Busy day but not done a lot..we need a new router box for the WiFi so that was sorted this morning..itā€™s in the post…a few jobs done at the caravan …then started to look for new bedroom furniture, sliding doors and sets of drawers needed…looks like a job for July /August see if we can afford it…

    Minols..
Lovely you can rake your dog with you even at a slow pace…hope your day went well and you are feeling more yourself…

    Dave..
Glad all your music has gone on easy to the phone…..it all takes time…I hate liver too I would starve first…lol

    Hemmy..
Laughing at all your treats….I have to own up to a stack of chocolate but thereā€™s only me who knows where it is……lol…..itā€™s been there since before Christmas…..Steve has bought some this weekend..I will tuck it away with the other and he forgets …have a lovely weekend….enjoy your salmon..

    Tatu..
    OH ..other half…hubby or partner..

What an organised person you are..all sounds delicious..glad you partner is on board it does help a lot…I do think low carbs high fat helps….we have cut back on wholemeal bread, Brown rice and potatoes but could do better..we have whole milk and cheese…olive oil……no low fat anything….you are doing very well…

    Pseu..
Lots of things planned ..a tub of fossils found very nice…pleased your hip is improving and all ready for these lovely walks…boat trip has reminded me of our local one…a different birthday treat..

We have not had a good week with being in the caravan, I felt I needed food after the previous week being ill and not eating..so not expecting much tomorrow again I would think up a bit…

All finished here a hood day for us…..keep strong everyone…

    Jean x

Tatu- your food made my mouth water! You’ll have to see how it goes having little meals- I found it easier in the end to not eat & have a slightly bigger evening meal, then Lynne set a brilliant example with her liquid only FDs, so now Dave & I have been trying that! I started keto a few months ago (less than 20g carbs per day) & found I lost more weight like that. It’s quite tough to start with, but you can have lots of high fat things, so might suit your OH if he likes cheese & oil.
Hemmy- please give your dog a hug from me, I’m missing ours! She was a golden lab, I love the springers, but hubby’s not so keen- we’ve only met mad ones!
Jean- a busy day for you again! Keep hiding the chocolate, you’re very strong if you can resist it! Maybe the scales will surprise you tomorrow!
Pseudo- the walks sound great, the Gower area is another one on my list of places I’d like to visit! I’m sure you’re getting enough exercise with the walking, so good to let your hip heal. Good idea to ease into the keto gently! Me, I’m all or nothing, had to go cold turkey! Happy birthday for the Saturday too!! Perhaps you’re still in fasting & now pre-birthday mode so can’t get in the swing of fasting?!
Minols- lovely to have your dog with you at work for company. Is he wondering why there’s no biscuits?! Keep strong & hope the coffee keeps you going!
Dave- I know what you mean about the TV adverts when you’re on a FD! Good of Denise to have something you hate tonight!
I’m having another cook at all sorts of weird times days for my lot tonight! And all slightly different things… Turned cold here now, need another coffee to warm me up & a hot bath soon (more gardening done & caught up with some jobs, so I feel grubby!). Drive all done, looks good! No short break booked- was with airB&B, they wanted a passport or driving licence ID for this one, hubby doesn’t trust computers/ websites enough to upload that, will keep looking. Also been looking up local dog breeders with the kennel club today, there’s several who breed labs near us, naughty me!!

Very hungry now, gone over 24 hours, this is a lot harder than last time, it’s been another warm day here so had plenty of drinks. Would kill for a biscuit šŸ˜ØšŸ˜©šŸ˜šŸ¤‘

    Hedgehog…
I am with your hubby..I donā€™t part with passport or driving licence thereā€™s too much information on them…best to be safe…hoping you find somewhere to go….

Naughty naughty cream, black or chocolate??…all are very lovely…lol

I quite like a pile of chocolate…no I am not tempted….itā€™s my comfort corner..šŸ˜‚..I am happy itā€™s there.

    Brad…
Well done you are very strong…I have never tried yet….

    Jean x

Pseu… i also had a hiccup, my first fast day! Haha
I caved and ate a large handful of pecans and remixed seeds with a spoon of my homemade sugar free Italian marmalade – was so delicious but sky rocketed me into the 800Kcal stratosphere!

Hemmy… salmon followed by minted melon balls in a ginger honey water? Itā€™s delicious and gloriously good for you! Just keep the honey low.

Jean …. OH – haha I love it. I fell off the band wagon with an almighty thump this afternoon but luckily my OH (getting the hang of this) is on board so we had a very delicious but light evening meal. Sure Iā€™ll eat the hang of it eventually! Caravan sounds epic, Iā€™ve never taken a journey in one but a friend has a traveler van she built herself. Was very cool!

Hedgehog … Iā€™m not so fabulous with liquid fasting unless itā€™s loveky and warm and Iā€™m far from
Work (Iā€™m a chef). I just watched magic pill and seems Leto can do wonderful things, my health has been a bit crappy recently but I know for sure Iā€™ll not be able to keep at it as my family lives in Kenya so I MUST eat my body weight in mangoes each time I go! Tee heee. BUT I do intend to reduce my carbohydrate intake mainly rice, bread, potatoes, baked goods etc slowly by slowly. The OH is keen too and doesnā€™t really get as mindnumbingly hungry as I do so his fast day was a doodle!

Dave- keep strong… I would say bed time soon, but not for you!
Jean- we’d get another golden lab again, I think they’re the nicest! Black are lovely too, all the chocolate ones I’ve met seem mad, our dog sitter lady thought the same & she’s looked after lots.
Tatu- whoops! Are you planning on fasting on work days?
Keep strong everyone! (Last meal being cooked for eldest now, kitchen will then be closed!)

    Hedgehogs –
I work most days of the week and weekends are harder as itā€™s a bit tricky with being social. Some days I only work 4 hours in the evening so should be easier than the 10-12 hrs days! Luckily I am also a health food chef so at least there is that!

    Evening everyone

Quick post from me, but didnā€™t want to miss a day.

Lovely carvery and passed on dessert, almost everyone else had one, but we always say if youā€™ve got room for dessert you havenā€™t done the carvery justice.

Planning a FD tomorrow, hoping for another good liquid day.

Off to bed now, night everyone

    Lynne x

    Hello all!!!

Yes Im home. Had a fabulous time with family. Eaten and drunk too much although we did walk 7 miles one day and 8 miles the next!

Ive just briefly skimmed over some of posts but too much to comment on, so I’ll start from here onwards, although I will just say welcome to Weetybee, hope you stay on board here. It does work if you stick to it, although it does need to be a lifestyle change to maintain things. And Hemmy, welcome back! Sorry to hear about your mum and Mr Pips, but glad that things are settling down a bit now.

    Have our recent newbies disappeared?

    Is everyone else ok?

Ive not done well recently, not been fasting, and of course Ive put weight back on. So clearly not adopted the lifestyle change required!!

I need to get back into this, so think I will be fasting tomorrow!

    Catch you all soon x

Just catching up with the crash diet programme!!!

    Morning all!
Kay- glad you had a good time, you have to enjoy holidays & not worry, I’m sure you’ll soon get back into it!
Tatu- Fasting & being a chef, don’t envy you that one, but nice to be able to cook healthy food! (I moan a lot on here about having to cook so many meals for my lot on here, bad enough!)
Lynne- glad you had a meal out & well done skipping the dessert! Hope your FD goes well today!
Sneaked on the scales quietly this morning so as not to wake hubby- 0.5lbs down this morning, getting there so slooowlyā€¦ But at least into the wiggle room now! Hope everyone else’s scales go down more than mine!

    Morning all

Glad you had a good holiday, Kay.

Tatu – your food sounds amazing. I’m a bit of a junk foodie and don’t really understand how to do the light fresh sounding things you describe. I always used to play safe when I went out – fish and chips because too scared to try anything new. But I’ve finally realised that I absolute love practically anything a good chef cooks… Masterchef opened my eyes, I think. I’m still not great with raw foods but I ate and quite enjoyed cerviche when I was in Peru last year.

I think I might take the old boy to work again today… No chance I cc biscuits for him, though. When I did eat them (in vast quantities as you know) I was a ‘mean’ eater… Never shared!

Weighed in as it’s the first of the month… Lost 3lbs I May. And given that nothing has been moving since Christmas, we’ll call that progress!

Going to stick with the recording everything and hope June gives me at least another few pounds. Am I allowed to hope for 4lbs?

    Morning to you all.

Yup, another failed fast last night, I think you might be right HH, in the birthday mood. All week I’ve been fasting until 7pm, so maybe it still counts for something. Must get back into it next week.

Found one of my guinea pigs dead this morning, and the other one huddled in next to her and unusually quiet. šŸ™ Very sad.

    Morning All…
No thunder rain what we expected last night…good…

Weigh in this morning proved good for us both although we weighed same to the ounce..strange…after a week not eating to eating a lot while away and chocolate biscuits, ice cream, scones, wine, beer and cider…very naughty I know but it is once in a while maybe since Xmas….very happy…

Daughter is coming up for lunch, hoping for good catch up and pulled pork sandwich is on the menu, pork has just gone in…..

    Tatu..
Recipe for sugar free marmalade recipe sounds yummy….we really love our caravan we go away about twice a month for 3 or so days…we do fast while away usually ..honest…it will be really hard working as a chef doing lovely meals, trying and tasting or does it make you not want eat…

    Hedgehog…
I think a cream lab for me too, just look softer…in the autumn maybe…you could be a chef all the different meals you cook…

    Lynne…
Well done on the carvery…a good mantra…too full for a pudd….good luck to your FD…

    Kay..
Glad your holiday was great and with the family catchup…two long walks too…line drawn off we go again…lol

    Have a good day everyone..

Good morning all, just had a giant bowl of cornflakes šŸ˜‹ that was very hard yesterday, maybe I should just do one liquid FD.I must be careful today or I will end up like A Tasmania Devil eating everything in sight šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜ˆšŸ˜ˆNo rain yet which is good because my car bodywork is being done soon, he told me he is on his way.

Hedgehogs – fastibga nd being a chef is a headache, Iā€™m forever thinking of food, creating menus for different client blah blah. Gets tedious with it always spinning around in my head haha! Slowly slowly Iā€™m sure itā€™ll get easier and Iā€™ll get into the swing of things. Luckily I donā€™t have family to cook for as well, I think that might get tricky – I must say cooking for children fills em with dread! Haha

Kay – sounds like loveky Long walks! Itā€™s such a great mellow way to move.

Minols – healthy food I think itā€™s often easier to make. Happy to give you some pointer. I even make a healthier version of fish and chips for my clients – no batter of course. Made with root vegetable oven chips – celeriac and swede, goes down a treat and you can even make a batch of home made ketchup in no time. Itā€™s just tinned tomatoes, onions and garlic, balsamic honey and season to taste (I love a little chilli at the end). The detox kitchen bible is a lovely book for delicious nutritious food, maybe pop into a book shop take a deep breathe and have a look x

Iā€™m off to cook on a yoga retreat this weekend and usually end up eating rather a lot and not doing an iota of exercise! Iā€™ll be more mindful this weekend though! Next fast day is Monday when I get back and hope itā€™s more successful than the last. I met someone once who ate plenty of jelly on fast days, Iā€™m not inclined to go with shop bought but recently I made a vegan version with Agar, cacao powder and honey. Chocolate jelly?! Donā€™t mind if I do!

Have a fab Friday everyone xx

Good morning everyone. I’ve been offline for a few days so lots of catching up to do. I won’t reply to all posts as so many to catch up on, just hope everyone is well and achieving their aims. I’ve been fasting but just don’t seem to be able to lose much weight. I’ve only lost 2lbs over the last 2 weeks. Did anybody else watch the BBC programme on crash dieting? Any views on it? It’s something I’ll consider if this fasting doesn’t work.
I’m off to visit my daughter for a week soon and then she’s coming back to Scotland with me for a week. Can’t wait to spend time with her! I’m determined to stick to the sensible eating whilst I’m with her. Difficult as we both love checking out tea rooms and cake selections šŸ˜‰
Weather is still good here in Scotland but storms are forecast for later on. The garden could certainly do with some rain now.
That’s it from me for now. Hope you all have a good day.

    Good morning all. Xx

Well what some weather last night… it bucketed it down here. Good thing is all water tubs brimming. ..

Not sure about my bean seeds though and Tomatoe plants. Also left the lid of compost bin will have to up the paper stuff to try and dry it up a bit… need the sun now.

Well done Mino on losing the 3lbs this month .. that is brilliant. It must be hard as I expect on your visits to folk you are offered lots of tea and cake. Xx

Hedgehogs .. Go for it … get that golden lab.. ohhh I just adore that new puppy smell .. could eat them.

Last night Kristy came in new Kong toy for Mr Pips… he went wild when he saw her… within 20mins she was in the chair dressing gown on and him licking her face… Lolol… B–g–r me and everything else. Lol

I cant imagine not having a dog now. .. Also gets me out for a couple of hours everyday walking rain .. snow etc he doesn’t care.. plus I can tell it does me good not only physically but mentally… over those fields I have sworn about stuff and peeps .. words I didn’t think I knew. Lolol All good. Xx

Kay Hi. Xx.. you will soon get back in the swing… I reckon its just keep doing what we do … holidays and stuff happen and we have to enjoy… hopefully it all evens out . Hope Ellie is good. Xx

Weety enjoy your retreat week-end. Xx

Psue So very sorry hear your sad news this morning… it is heartbreaking losing our little friends. Thinking of you. xx

Brads .. have a good day whatever you are doing. Hope your car turns out ok. xx

Caz .. A 2lbs loss in 2 weeks is a very good achievement.. think they say we should average a pound a week… you are on track. xx

Sym… well done for staying stable… its funny how on TWOL you can stay to the very oz on a daily basis.

Well weighed this morning and shock horror have put on 2lbs overnight… feel slug like this morning too. Cant be doing with late nights now … but did sleep well funny enough.

Kristy working from home a bit this morning after walking… I have 3 days off lol….

Tomorrow we are going to Stratford Upon Avon to hit the charity shops… she has lots of events coming up workwise so needs lots of evening style stuff .. I love doing that. She has put on quite a bit of weight so will not be easy… a shame.

OH not coming as too busy with work… awful,,, I know but I have her to myself and we can be easy. . lol. Still not sure about this one by what I hear but we have to keep quiet. lolol.

Enjoy your day with daughter.. ohh can just taste that sandwich… yummy I bet. Xx

Have a good day every one xx … Brit Lovelies…

Life is a game, play it; Life is a challenge, Meet it; Life is an opportunity, Capture it…
If you obey all the rules, youā€™ll miss all the fun…

Bad news on the car front, the scratch is to deep Carl said I will need to get the door done which won’t be cheap, he can’t do it himself so recommend someone. Don’t know what to do about it, just had my crusty cobs from Sainsbury’s so felon full šŸ˜

    Afternoon All…
I have had a lovely 4 hours with daughter, Steve busy outside, I like just the two of us she is so busy, I donā€™t get it often..talking about her new job in September but she is already doing some of the work…a bit hard as she is working for her new boss but still working with the old one who is retiring, she wants to make it a happy last seven weeks for her…

Pulled pork was yummy it all went down well, just with stuffin and apple sauce…vanilla slice to finish…we or I have decided to eat out tonight itā€™s so lovely here..but thunder storms are on the way…we got the grass cut between us…

    Tatu..

    Hemmy..
Weight moves up and down as you know…no worries it will be off tomorrow…enjoy Stratford hope you find some party dresses…good saying….šŸ˜€..hope your plants are OK….

    Have a good weekend …

    Jean x

    Hi all

Well the storms have finally hit up here… Just as school was getting out so we got lovely and wet!

Hemmy and Jean… Glad you’ve had some good girl time with your respective girls. Hemmy – I was just thinking of hitting the charity shop myself so I might try and get I over the weekend.

Mind you, need to do a thorough clean and tidy here tomorrow… That’s what comes of going off gallivanting lastr weekend! The boy will certainly earn his pocket money tomorrow!

Thanks for the cookbook tip, tatu… I’ll look out for that.

I was at a talk at school last night about single use plastics and the scandal of everything in our oceans. I’d already thought of trying the high Street butcher and relying less on tesco, so tomorrow I will head out with my own supply of plastic tubs and take my business to them. Can’t get rid of all the packaging but I’m going to try and halve it if I can. And of course the more I actually cook rather than buy my favourite pre-cooked, high salt/sugar etc stuff th healthier I’ll be (alright, healthy is maybe never going to happen while there’s chocolate in the world, but you never know!)

Right, time to transform and get my superhero outfit on… Official presence required at the BB tonight.

    Have good weekends, everyone.

    Mx

    Minols…
I am totally with you on plastic…itā€™s destroying everywhere…itā€™s like a washing machine miles and miles wide in some oceans….itā€™s in shampoos and toothpaste…Superdrug and Lidl do plastic free toothpaste my hygienist was telling me…

I am trying to cut back but is so difficult …you canā€™t get away from it…any ideas I would appreciate….

I feel like buying things then take it out of plastic and leave at the tills…especially fruit and veg…

Have a good night at BB..

    Jean x

    Evening all!
Caz- well done on the loss, you’re not going to lose quickly on this WOL, but steadily. I didn’t lose any doing 5:2, so I did alternate days to shift the weight. Also a good idea to write down what you eat on non-FDs & work out your TDEE if you haven’t already. I think the trouble is with those liquid diets is that maybe your metabolism adjusts to those calories, & if you went back to eating again it could go back on… I’m doing keto as well as fasting, it’s supposed to heal insulin resistance but not lower your BMR, we shall see!
Pseudo- sad news, sorry about your guinea pig, not nice to lose furry friends whatever their size. You’ll have to give the one whose left extra hugglesā€¦ Hope it doesn’t spoil your day tomorrow.
Jean- glad you had a nice day with your daughter, must be hard winding down one job & getting stuck in already with the new one.
Hemmy- enjoy the shopping tomorrow! Hope your daughter’s OH grows on you…
Minols- have a good BB evening! Is your son pleased to have you there, or is he old enough to be embarrassed?!
Dave- shame about the scratch, that’ll be expensive to repair. Could you get primer & touch up paint & do it yourself, or is it too bad for that?
Tatu- the retreat sounds great! Do you get to do some classes in between cooking?
Kay & Lynne- hope you’ve both had a good day, any fasting done?
Had a busy day- shopping, some new clothes bought, my wardrobe is so full! Smart trousers, which I wore out this afternoon to meet up with my friend who’s on a flying visit back from Ireland. Her baby has grown so much in 2 months! Met in a tea shop, no cake eaten!
Ate tonight, cooked French bread for the ‘boys’, & didn’t have any! Stuffed full now! (lettuce doing well in the garden, we all had salad) More cooking tomorrow- my Dad’s birthday on Sunday, sis is doing the BBQ, I’m making desserts. Chocolate & salted caramel cheesecake & mini pavlovas… Will do a keto cheesecake for me!

Well I didn’t fast today in the end. Had a bad nights sleep with nightmares etc and this morning felt tired and out of sorts. Havent had too bad a day though. Early night tonight as I have neckache and up early in the morning.

I did watch the crash diet programme and even logged in to the BBC website to check it out, not that I could see myself doing it! Anyway it’s only suitable if you have more than 2 stone to lose. It’s actually 800 cals a day so like the MM beach diet but maybe for people who can’t be strict with meals and calories.
I’m hoping I can get back into fasting again as I do believe it can be good for your health too.
I now am back to needing to lose a stone so I’m clearly not approaching this WOL properly as maintenance definitely hasn’t happened!
But there again no other diet has had successful maintenance either! So best stick to this one!

Hammy it’s great to have your quotes back!!
Pseu, so sad about the furry one and more so for the one left šŸ˜¢
Jean, sounds like you’ve had a nice day. Did you go out this evening?
Dave, you’ve been doing fluid only!! Well done! I only do 1 a week, if I do them, as sometimes I think they are counterproductive as I end up eating more the day after! Hope you can sort the car scratch out. Cars are a pain sometimes. Neil needs to find someone to have a look at his and it’s going to cost.
Minols, well done with reaching the end of the month with a loss.
Tatu, the retreat sounds fun, what kind of food will you be cooking?
Hedgehog, a busy day by the sounds of it but productive. Still going well on the keto it seems.
Caz, well done on the loss. Any loss is a step in the right direction.
Lynne, how are you and the girls?
Sorry if I’ve forgotten anyone, I’m on my phone and don’t want to keep scrolling back just in case I lose this post!

Have avoided the storms here just had a bit of rain. Hopefully it will start being sunny again from tomorrow. I need to get some gardening done.

    Kay x
