End of Week 2

  • I LOVE this eating plan and can’t believe how easily I’m getting through my fast days! Years of brainwashing about eating healthy snacks in-between meals or having 6 small meals and snacks rather than 3 bigger meals so your blood sugar will stay on an even keel…. now that all feels like hogwash!

    After 4 fasting days, I find I’m better off eating NOTHING all day as eating anything just seems to make me want more. I have a large tea with 1tsp of sugar when I get to work and then nothing but water. After work I have plenty of household chores to keep me busy longer, plus cooking a family meal. Other than the tea, I’m fasting for about 22 hours.

    Based on weigh-ins on a scale at work (which I know may be somewhat inaccurate due to different clothes, shoes, time of day, etc) I have dropped 8 pounds. I have been a little bit careful on my feast days, but am not counting calories or cutting out desserts, just watching portion sizes more carefully. I really think I can stick to this eating plan!

    all I can say is well done and keep going, but maybe try and eat the 500 calories on fast days, as it is the whole point of this way of eating, though whatever works for you lol 🙂

    Thanks Angie. I guess I wasn’t clear, I DO eat my 500 calories, I just save them all for evening. Today for example, I’ve had just tea during the work day, came home and shoveled snow for quite awhile, and now I’ll go prepare dinner. I count my sugar (in tea) calories from the day and stick to my 500 total. I also managed to buy a small kitchen scale to weigh portion sizes. Evenings, after eating my allotted calories, I really have to stop myself from snacking, that’s the toughest time for me. But I’m okay with telling myself I can snack tomorrow.

    Seems like I’m settling into a couple of pounds lost each week and I’m good with that. Just hope I don’t hit a plateau too soon. Into my 4th week, I’m still loving this diet!

    fasting today and I am just wishing the day away grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    I know what you mean about the evenings though, so I keep around 30 or 40 calories for a low cal hot chocolate and I drink it ever so slowly lol!!
