  • Hey everyone

I’m not sure I’m getting this forum thing so bare with me if I’m in the wrong place! On my first fast day, wanted to start yesterday but was full of cold etc so put it off till today. So far so good I think. I had 40g porridge with water and 2 tsp Splenda for breakfast followed by a tangerine. That was at 7.15 this morning. I’m planning on having a miso soup ( 44cal) around 4 and then at 6 a roast veg salad with Parmesan ( in 5:2 book ) this would leave me with enough for a activia yog (76 cal) as pudding. How does this sound? If I’m going wrong please don’t be afraid to let me know, I want to do this right! K 🙂

    hi Kate76!

sounds like you have your fast on a great start lol!! I am fasting too today, cant wait for dinner time at 6 🙂

the day is nearly done! 🙂

Great! Thanks! I’m finding this all a bit weird haha! I hope it works! I’ve been busy at work all day so been no problem fasting but now I’m home and the kids are back in a bit I’m sure I’ll need to pull out my supply of willpower! Just out of interest, if you don’t mind sharing….what do you eat on a fast day?? K 🙂

Scrap the miso….was nearly sick at the smell of it. Opting for a green tea and 1 baby bel light 🙂

Oh noooooooo… That sounds like some seriously dodgy miso! 😉 Well done for deciding on alternative quickly! (Though personally green tea makes me feel a smidgen icky… but then I’m probably just really weird.)

@charlie76 green tea with lemon is lovely but I can’t stomach plain green tea! Do you know if I should be counting calories for green tea? Surely it doesn’t contain any!! :/

@kate76 Green tea with lemon eh? Now that’s interesting… may give that a whirl (it’s the plain green tea that makes me wrinkle my nose). Am sure there are no calories in green tea. Can’t be… PS Am guessing looking at your user name that you too were born in the bestest year ever 😉

    hi Kate76!

sorry I hadn’t seen your post sooner 🙁 of course I don’t you asking lol!
well this morning was just coffee, lunch time I had a warburton thin with a slice of ham and light laughing cow square, a low cal soup, a green tea in the afternoon and later around 6 ish i’ll have a Morrisson’s low cal meal…that’s it!!

pretty boring but I try and keep it simple, other days I eat vegs, with chicken or ham.. I try not to eat too many carbs on fast days, though its hard!!

get that willpower in full power lol, you can do it!! the day is almost over 🙂 xx

@charlie76….You got it… I was too Born in the year of the heat wave! Thanks angie090465, I’d swap my vomit soup…oops I mean miso soup for a warburtons any day! Sounds like a good idea I may try and have a light lunch and skip breakfast next time and see how it goes. How’s your weight loss? 🙂

    Hi Kate76!

Hope your day has gone ok, my weight loss has stalled since december, back in july last year i was 9’13 and now 9.5 so it has been very slow grrr but am ok with it as long as i dont gain 🙂

    Keep going!!

I suggest adding pretty intensive exercise to lose weight. I am from the US and we have a craze called Cross Training. I do some pretty intensive exercises in a short amount of time that exercises almost every muscle in my body over a couple of weeks. It took me nearly a month start losing weight after starting the exercise, but now I seem to be on the downward slide.

    Hi:

Your experience of not immediately losing weight when you both started a diet and started exercising is typical.

Exercise is the single most important thing you can do to improve your health, even over weight loss. But exercise, especially ‘new’ exercise, damages muscles (they get sore). The body repairs those damaged muscles by retaining water to help the repair. So as you exercise you actually add weight, which covers up the relatively slow weight loss from the diet.

Exercise itself has little to do with weight loss, however.
