  • hi
I am getting very confused – do I go by cals or kcal on food packaging,im finding it very difficult finding food with CAL amount.

    Hi Natsann,

It’s very simple you use the calories which is on every food label. It will tell you the amount the cals are for. It may say the whole package, 100g, or a portion size, i.e 30g. You add up the cals according to how much of it you eat.

Use an app like My fitness Pal for iPhone. You can scan food in with it then select how much you used.

    Good luck.

    Jaye 🙂

thanks for the reply JayeGirl, I have lifeted a few items this morning just to prepare myself for Monday but again they all read kcal – for example I had a alpen bar for brekkie @ 123kcal – so is this correct? sorry for seeming silly.

cal and kcal are interchangeable and mean the same 🙂

o perfect thanku – looking forward to Monday now, that seems a bit easier. thanks for ur help x
