  • Another weigh in a small loss. Still no movement on the waist or total fat which is in the high figures. All stored around the middle. It did not help that we have had the most miserable week weather wise to cold to do much at all even inside. All I managed to do was clean out my wardrobe and bundle up all my old clothes. These will be gone tomorrow. It was quite liberating to toss them out mentally its like a fresh new start. If someone had told me when I restarted last August that I would lose the weight I would have laughed and I did not think it was possible 75kg wasa mental barrier that I could not get over. Fell through that one week dipping 2kgs to 74kg. From that time it just fell off. Since Jan 2015 total loss has been 34kgs. It is still hard to comprehend but I wake up everyday thankful for this. Everything just seems to have fallen into place for this to happen.

GL what a wonderful flag waver you are for the 5:2 way of life. Congratulations for staying with it and being proof that staying with 5:2 really gives results ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘xxxx

    Hi fit..Jade..

Well done fit! 600 down. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—. It must be so upsetting to see your sister deteriorating so, wonder what reasons the doctor will give!! Hope all goes well at the wedding tomorrow. I’m sure you will all be great.๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป โ›ช๏ธโ›ช๏ธ. ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽค

Jade..what an amazing woman you are. It is a wonder you have a weight issue at all. You are so active and fit!! Jill of all trades๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.. Great to have a night with D. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

I have had a great 24 hours. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜My little Joel has grown so much and is a real little man that can carry out a very sensible conversation…he had so much fun discovering all the treasure OH has picked up off the side of the road for his this time. 3 bikes to choose from with one being just perfect after OH swapped seats from one of the others. Scooter a hit. Ride on front end loader, fire trucks, dump trucks etc all passed muster. As did the T-ball set and etc. so we detoured to town to get a helment on the way over to daughters place for lunch. ..still have not shown him the skateboard and the board to ride in the surf. I’m sure there will be more discoveries tomorrow…all at no cost to us..just time doing what OH loves best.

My wonderful son has been tidying up already and getting ready for the biggest garage sale ever. A major de cluttering. They have all crashed now after being up since 4am..I am about to watch the news and crash also. Bye for now ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Wow, GL! That is absolutely amazing….true Aussie determination in action! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ† You must feel totally transformed and so much healthier. It’s hard to see the new you at times, we all have a vision in our heads of how we used to be. So it’s good to take stock every so often and you should give yourself a big pat on the back (probably lots easier to do that now too!๐Ÿ˜‰) on a job well done. Have you reached your goal weight or are you continuing on? Chucking out old clothes is a fantastically satisfying thing to do and you can look forward to replacing them in smaller sizes….win/win! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ž
CG, I keep thinking of that scene from Gone with the Wind, when Scarlett is being laced into her corset hanging onto the bedpost! ๐Ÿ˜‚ You’ll definitely have to keep the smelling salts handy in case you swoon, especially watching that Outlander guy! ๐Ÿ˜‹โ˜บ๏ธ
Jade, I hope you’re able to switch off from school now. Are all your admin duties done now for the summer? I know you’ll have classes to prepare for the next year, but you should be able to do that in your own time. It sounds like your d is making very positive steps towards putting the past behind her and getting on with life, thanks in no small part to her fantastic mum! Have a lovely weekend. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿซโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿท๐Ÿค๐Ÿ•
I’m off for a last minute choir practice this morning before the wedding this afternoon…..eeek! Good job the bride doesn’t know we’re more nervous than she is! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

PH, we crossed! Aw, Joel sounds such a little sweetie! He will be in 7th heaven with all the new toys to try out. Lots to keep him active and happy. How brilliant to have your son to help with decluttering the big stuff too! Sleep well and enjoy all the love and laughter ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘

Fit that’s exactly how I feel, but not her size! Small feeds are the go for me and I got Leah to loosen it a bit this arvo, I was really fighting to breath especially when sitting. There are two corsets, one fully body the other a straight binding wrapped tightly around my middle and that’s the one giving me grief. I really feel good today and hope to sleep right through tonight. Best of luck for the wedding, I’m sure it will be professional and perfect for the brideโ˜บ๏ธ Think positive and use your AD๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’—xxxx
PH what a lovely day for you and your litte grandie. Your o/h certainly knows how to entertain little boys and sounds like he loves doing it. Rest up for another big day my friend ๐Ÿ’•โ˜บ๏ธ
I’m watching Nemo, desperate or what? Only free TV in my room but enjoying it none the less. Have a great evening team xxxx

Oh CG, I thought of you the other day when wearing a certain undergarment that was tight and super-structured, it was very hard to breathe! But obviously yours is helping you heal the right way, so as you suffer on I send hugs and sympathy. I’ll bet Leah understands quite well also – so nice that you are with family. Who is looking after your larger 4-legged friends?๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ or maybe you packed Lexie and Danny in too? I loved Nemo๐Ÿ ! A great way to pass the time.

Good luck Fit, how funny that you might be as nervous as the bride! I’ll bet you will be fabulous – and those who aren’t sure of their parts should sing a bit more softly๐Ÿค – but maybe you’ve already made it to the cake and punch part of the wedding by now and can just relax and celebrate with the happy couple๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿท๐ŸŽ‚

PH what wonderful treasures! Are you saying OH just found them on his way to pick them up? Good thing they are having a garage sale to make space for the new toys! Makes me wish I were a kid again, and specifically your grandson! But how fun to watch it all be enjoyed so. All of it sounds fantastic, so happy for you๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

GL, kudos to you, that’s a life changing achievement, well done! To reclaim your health is everything especially as we get older. You’re an inspiration.๐Ÿ’ช

PH you’re too nice, I’m more stubborn than amazing๐Ÿ˜‰ but since my day job involves only mental work, I enjoy the physical aspect of odd jobs – often with the help of YouTube, God love the folks who bother to explain how to do basic home repairs.๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ”ฉ๐Ÿค— OH was afraid I’d blow the house up when I replaced the thermocouple in the furnace, but it was a simple matter of replacing one wire. Granted, picking the right wire was rather crucial! Felt like the bomb squad.๐Ÿ’ฃBut did I mention I was stubborn?๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Didn’t quite get a FD done this week, but did rediscover my self-control. Feeling pretty normal again after a brief experiment with low-carb, which is just not for me. Back to basics now. I have my yearly eval meeting with the Dean Monday, so might as well be good and hungry then. I have a big surprise for her, but shhhh no spilling the beans just yet.

And now time for Saturday chores, gotta trim a gigantic barberry and haul the sticky branches to the yard recycling plus visit a friend at a nearby farmers market before noon. Great stuff on a sunny summer day – later OH and I are going to look at a new house further out in the country with a pool๐ŸŠ- he is quite taken with the online photos. Oh goodness too much happening at once. Enjoy the weekend dear ones!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ˜xxx

Phew! Back from church and all went well music wise and we got lots of compliments afterwards. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm erupted just as the ceremony was coming to a close with lightning crackling through the speakers and the thunder rumbling and growling all around. No one could leave the church for about half an hour as the rain was absolutely torrential! We don’t get invited to the wedding party, Jade, so it’s back home with a cup of green tea and an apple!
CG, enjoy the rest with the perfect excuse to watch whatever you want. Lots of those animated films are beautifully done and well worth watching. Relax and keep breathing!
Jade, you definitely are wonder woman to me, looks like you can turn your hand to anything! Glad to hear you’re getting back on top of things and finding the best way for you to follow this wol. ๐Ÿ‘ I bet the Dean will get a bit of a land when you spring your news on her! ๐Ÿ˜‰ OMG, you’re thinking of moving house and it’s your OH’s idea??!! If you get a pool, can we come visit? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’š

Yay so pleased it went well, Fit! So are you a professional singer?? Even so it seems only fitting they’d offer you cake๐ŸŽ‚ – though with your steely determination of late, I guess it’s just as well you hightailed it out of there.

I’m hoping we are still going to take a look at Camp Aussie Determination, US edition – I would be beyond delighted if you visited. That goes for the rest of you motley crew as well! But it’s so blistering hot today, we may have to try the pool out before buying. Assuming we even get in the car – OH is not moving very fast. I had to lie down after the yard work, and I’m absolutely not going for my typical Saturday jog. Luckily it is also too hot to eat! Go me! Not daring to get on the scales until I get a bit more distance between me and Shipwreck Cove, but at least I sort of feel in control.

I hear footsteps on the stairs, perhaps a drive past my dream house is in the offing๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ˜xxx

Hi there Jade! I’m in a small church choir so sometimes we are asked to sing at weddings. The reception, including cake and drinks, usually takes place in a hotel or country house nowhere near the church. Often the family give us a small gift each or a contribution which we use to fund a night out. Definitely not a professional singer, but after a few peach schnapps in the corner of the pub anything could happen……just warning you! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ณ
Camp Aussie Determination sounds like a brilliant idea! Pool and spa, anyone?! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜„

Good morning-evening team ๐Ÿ˜Š Bloody cold here this morning. The boy’s woke me trying to snuggle in for warmth, pushing me further and further to the edge of the bed. Fortunately they don’t step on me or my tummy, just lean into my back. So up earlish, nice hot coffee, heater on and leaving Glenn have a Sunday morning sleep in. Not having a wife, and I think having two of the three girls in his life pushing his buttons yesterday with house work and maintenance requests quite exhaustd him. Now he has fitted a new shower, a new ceiling fan, fixed the sliding door etc all because his Mum and Sister got at him ๐Ÿ˜‰ Friday his “other” girl in his life, Tegan, phoned him asking for a lift to school, she had a morning exam, psycology, and he is always happy to oblige๐Ÿ˜‰ Glenn is a typical Aussie male in “that’ll do….it’s alright” but we girls push for perfection๐Ÿ˜ฑ and know he is capable, he just doesn’t “see” things that need doingโ˜บ๏ธ But we love him, he is all heart and a gentle giant.
Fit I’m so pleased for you that the singing went well at the wedding โ˜บ๏ธ It’s wonderful how things seem to always come together on the day๐Ÿ‘ And what a true 5:2 trooper, green tea and an apple? I’m proud of you my dear friend.
Jade, a possible new home? Golly, your o/h IS a surprise. Still waters do run deep, woohoo if it comes off for you. I, like you, learn a lot off You Tube on how to do things at home, it does save money, but certain things just need my handy man, and the expense!
Time for another coffee, I’m doing a lot of colouring in and quite enjoying it. They are all patterns in this book and it’s keeping my hands busy and brain working.
Life is what you make it team, so be positive, smile and be happy, your innerself will shine ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’—xxxx

Mornin’ CG! Those boys of yours aren’t half spoiled! Glenn is doing a super job looking after you so well and doing all those chores on the ‘to do’ list! Isn’t it wonderful that he has such a great relationship with Tegan, very heart warming. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž I’m glad you’re finding something interesting and therapeutic to do while you’re recuperating.
The weather has broken here with heavy, thundery showers and rain forecast for the next few days. It still quite humid as well and hard to get to sleep at night. We don’t have air con or even a fan because we would rarely need either but we might have to reconsider that.
Take care and enjoy the colouring. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•

Hey Fit, yes humidity is awful, our last few summers were unbareable with it. Thunder storms do add some excitement though ๐Ÿ˜Š And can be very pretty, although scarey too. I did find a wet face washer on my neck – forehead or chest a help with sleeping in the sticky weather. Glenn loves Leah’s kids and they do him. He is wonderful to them and very generous with gifts and his time๐Ÿ’•โ˜บ๏ธ Stay cool if possible sweet one xxxxx

I’m not afraid of thunder and lightening and I love to watch a good storm. But you’re right about them being scary. A man and his two children were struck by lightning just a few days ago and are still critical in hospital. Very scary stuff indeed!

Oh heavens Fit! It seems to be getting more dangerouse lately. We had a few struck this year too, in fact one bolt went through a roof into someones home. I love them too and sit on the front deck and watch the show, but once I feel the prickle on the back of my neck, know there is far too much electricity in the air so go inside๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Morning (here) team! Gosh Glenn is truly a handyman, CG! I could watch YouTube forever and not be able to do that kind of plumbing and electrical work – what a wonderful young man. And how sweet to pitch in for Tegan also, the knight in shining armorโœจโ™ฅ๏ธ Glad you are finding ways to keep busy that don’t involve climbing ladders or carrying heavy parcels.๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘

Fit, do you have any video/audio of your little choir? I’d love to hear, though if forced I suppose I could come to Ireland for a performance๐Ÿค”๐ŸŽค Does the group sing in pubs๐Ÿ˜‰?

Camp AD-US didn’t get a drive-by yesterday, because OH had a wee too many drops of Jamison the night before๐ŸŒŠ and was creeping down the steps only to tell me how unready he was to socialize again last night. He went of course, but drank only seltzer so maybe today we’ll take a look. Oh Fit, he asked if I’d booked the place in Howth, so hooray for renewed interest in travel. I haven’t yet, still shell-shocked by the cost of canceling the last trip, plus it almost seems a jinx to plan things. But I figure either it or something suitable will be available later on, perhaps Augustish, once life calms down more – both OH and D are still rather tender and unpredictable – maybe I’ll just go solo!!

I’m sitting now by my little garden, it’s so beautiful and still pleasant in the shade. I’m staying on the patio away from the snakes! Our heat and humidity are ferocious in the summer, so I love these mornings. It’s pleasant too in the evenings but the mosquitos will carry you off. No news is good news from D this weekend, i try not to hover (try try try). I do mental hovering lol.

And a lot of jabbering. That’s the way I am with coffee in the mornings, just having a cyber chat. Hope you all have a lovely day! Gearing up for my fast tomorrow๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’•xxxx

Morning Jade! I’ve just come in from sitting out on my patio too, (no snakes anywhere thanks to St. Patrick, of course!๐Ÿ˜‰), was reading under the parasol and the fragrance from my mock orange was just heavenly. Now, I’m back indoors looking at torrential rain hopping off the ground thanks to a sudden cloudburst!
No video/audio of our choir, we’re just a tiny choir in a tiny church. Buy us enough booze and we might sing in a pub, but I don’t think our hymns would go down too well with the clientele! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‡
That sounds good that your OH is taking an interest in things like new houses and travels. Can’t wait to hear how the plans progress. Have you heard of Johnny Fox’s Pub? It’s in the foothills of the Dublin mountains and it’s famous for food and traditional Irish music and dance. Check it out at http://www.jfp.ie and you can whet OH’s appetite! โ˜˜๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ’š

I think you need to organize an album for that group, Fit, and become world famous! Ha, I’ll bet pub goers would love you, a little religion couldn’t hurt. Don’t get me started on what it’s done here, though whether that could be called “religion” is debatable.๐Ÿค A Nov trip out of the craziness of politics is looking better and better. Johnny Fox’s looks like a whole barrel of fun – thanks for the link! Have you been?

Looks like a camp drive-by is today’s agenda – OH is busy online doing google earth now, checking out the environs. Gradually talking himself down a bit, but hey miracles could happen.โœจ๐Ÿ‘ Speaking of, I might actually pull off an early FD here, so far just coffee and not feeling hungry. Why not๐Ÿ’ช – I’ll report in later on how all that goes!๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Žxxx

Yes, I’ve been to Johnny Fox’s but a long time ago. The seafood was fab and it’s still famous for that as well as steaks. We brought some American relations (distant) and they loved it. One of my sisters goes there a lot with her hubby and they love it. My niece, who’s home from Oz, is thinking of bringing her Oz visitors next week, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
As you’ll know we’re very familiar here with what has been done in the name of religion….let’s not go there!
Best of luck with your fd, or not, enjoy your Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’š I’ve finished below my TDEE and will fast tomorrow. Feeling good and determined to lose another kg before my god daughter’s wedding ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Wow, what secret potion are you drinking, one of Gyps’s? Or maybe you’re like me, nothing like a true deadline to manufacture some discipline. But go you! Below tdee is amazing and on the eve of a FD๐Ÿ’ช well done. That’s when I usually convince myself I should stock up for the impending famine! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Ha, the things I do to make life harder than it needs to be, right? And yes, on a sober note, religious differences can result in such tragedy. Even being raised Catholic in Southern Baptist territory opened my eyes to the absurdity of religious hatred, when my paternal gma told my mom it was a shame we’d all be going to hell. Oh mercy, there I go off topic again.๐Ÿ˜œ
Cheers and happy non-eating, thank heavens OH is polishing off the pie!๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคxx

Ha Jade, it’s months of eating well above my TDEE that saw me struggling so much with this wol. I’m an expert too on making things more difficult than they need to be….are you sure we weren’t separated at birth? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ Usually, I did fine on my fds but completely stuffed up my nfds. Now I’ve finally copped on that it was mostly down to my constant snacking, so I’m beating that habit, I hope! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™ Yes, there’s nothing like a deadline, with vanity attached!, to concentrate the mind! I’m hoping to wear the same dress that I wore to my nephew’s wedding last October but without the jacket and with different accessories. It’s the other side of the family anyway, so no one will have seen the dress before. However, I was a kg lighter then and thought it a little snug at the time, so I definitely need to lose a little in the next two weeks! I was raised Catholic like most of Ireland but my faith has been well shaken by the last few years and I can’t really say what I believe any more. ๐Ÿค”My love of music and singing and the fact that my dad used to run the church choir keep me hanging on, but only just!
I’ve been reading about the awful atrocity in Orlando, where is it going to end? Guns and religion….a deadly combination.
Enjoy the week ahead and the research for Camp Aussie Determination! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ˜ƒ

OH just updated me on the number of people killed in Orlando, over twice what I’d first heard. It’s insane here, just ****ing insane. Empty rhetoric continues.

But on lighter topics, go you, I know you can do it! Having a deadline AND a dress waiting, well what could be better? Maybe we should all order one of those corsets CG has, nothing like mashing one’s midsection to dampen the appetite. I’m soldiering on in my FD with my diet black raspberry and a splash of cream. If I close my eyes and think really hard, it turns into a sherbet float. OH is ranting online to someone about guns instead of driving me to my dream house, but we might still go. I’m starting to think even a 15-minute trip is a struggle around here, wtf. Maybe I need to show him a good display of Aussie determination?๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ‘Š ha ha – xxx

Go you Jade, I bet you’ll smash that fd! ๐Ÿ’ช A corset and a gag might just do the trick for future days when the demons of temptation are lurking! ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘Š Best of luck with OH, you’re full of enough Aussie determination for the both of you! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

Morning Fit and Jade, lovin’ the conversation for my morning reading. I don’t recomment this damned corset, oh how I’d love to “let it all out” and it is keeping me so straight, great for my spine but I feel like I have a broom stuck up the proverbial!๐Ÿ˜ณ
I totally agree about religion. It is the cause of so many wars and heartache. Something meant to be gentle and loving being so misconscrewed!(sp?)
Glenn dished up a bowl of Kabana, pickled onions and tasty cheese bits as a snack yesterday arvo, yum, so didn’t bother with lunch, it was enough for me, then snags with fried onions and coleslaw for dinner, golly I enjoyed it….BUT all the onions have worked their magic! Take it from me, if you need an easy clean out, hit the onions๐Ÿ˜ฑ Guaranteed, no straining๐Ÿค”
I’m starting my day with black coffee, and as he will be mowing today, decided on hamburgers on the “barbie” of course with onions๐Ÿ˜‰ for lunch, with a fried egg…..all on a crusty bread roll โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’•(I’ll have lettuce on the roll for a touch of healthy๐Ÿ˜I love the smell of all that cooking outside and BBQ’s are rare for me these days so really looking forward to it. I’m hoping to have a cal’ consious dinner and start watching my TDEE again. But, being spoilt as in, “how about an icrcream Mum” makes it difficult๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’—
Fit I’m sure one kilo will not make any difference to your outfit, but it’s funny how it does mentallyโ˜บ๏ธ You look beautiful in every photo we see of you girl, so hold that head high, you will look smashing๐Ÿ˜Š
Jade you sound to be on such a roller coaster with wondering what your o/h will want next. You seem so ready to go with any whim he has. I do hope it all works out for you. The shootings are just so tragic. As you know guns are banned here, but killings still happen, idiots king hitting innocent people just out enjoying an evening with friends, there will always be a way to corrupt the peace and our beautiful lives.
Have a lovely day team, publiic holiday (for the Queen, can you believe?) today, but everyday is a holiday when retired. My thought for the day. Be yourself, not what others want, you are unique, don’t try to fit in, learn to stand out…and shine โ˜บ๏ธโค๏ธxxxx

Mornin’ CG! Looks like you, Jade and I are the three musketeers at the moment with the rest of the gang MIA or occupied with visitors. Glenn is sure treating you like royalty…….as you deserve of course! Never mind the queen, you’re the real queen of this thread and 5:2! ๐Ÿ‘‘ You’re making my mouth water reading about all that yummy food! ๐Ÿ˜‹
The dress is quite fitted so every kg shows, especially if it’s in the tummy area……maybe you could send me your corset! But thanks for the kind words and I’m going to really enjoy the day. My god daughter is a gorgeous girl and I can’t wait to share in her special day.
Keep going from strength to strength in your recovery, dear pal and let yourself be spoiled because what’s seldom is wonderful! ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•

Oh you precious girl Fit, you say all the right things and do make me feel special๐Ÿ˜Š Before my op, I was wearing little elastic panties over my normal undies, and they act like a soft corset, just enough to hold the tummy in a bit, maybe that’s what you need๐Ÿ˜‰ Cuddles xxxx

Hi there CG! So glad to see you feeling so chipper, it’s so nice to be pampered but even better to feel well enough to enjoy it! And you do seem to be loved across the globe – not many can say that๐Ÿ˜ Truly not jealous of the corset, though. And lol…the onions๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜†
Hey Fit, how about spanx? I wore a slinky dress to a wedding last year and borrowed a pair from D. Yes, a tad tight – I was relieved they didn’t explode while on, as they’d likely have flung me right out the door๐Ÿ˜‚. But they sure did the trick on the odd lumps and bumps. Pretty comfy too, not like a girdle (or corset).

I’m afraid we struck out on the dream house. It’s a bit too large and remote. In the meantime, we could host quite a party where we are – 4 extra queen beds. No pool, but if you feed him peanuts our Aussie will give you quite a bath. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜œ

Time to put this FD to bed – hoping it gives me that great sense of accomplishment tomorrow morning, just in time for my meeting with the big boss๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ถ xxxx

Hi all. Just popping in for a minute to have a read about what you are all doing, great catch up but too tired to comment back to everyone in detail. CG. Sounds like recovery going well..and glens looking after you like a queen! Fit you always look gorgeous, and Jade sounds like the house didn’t pan out.. Pleanty of time!!

I am having just the most wonderful, time .๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜..up at 5am most mornings as the Canadians have not yet got their body clock in order . We have taken 3 full 7×5 trailer loads to the dump that are not worth putting in the “mother of all garage sales”. Only tackled one shed so far so am sure many more to come.. son just can’t help hi,self and is down sorting before 7am and someone has to me with him to,validate wing out..so mother bear is down with him, still in my nice fleece gown over my PJ,s sitting is a very comfortable chair supervising. Have knitted Joel a great colourful striped cap, out of wool he picked so far and a pair of rubbed leggings for Ruth. What will I knit tomorrow.? Oh yes DIL wants a nice woolen cap too and have some nice pure merino and silk wool I can do it in. Joel is having a ball with everything he finds and is helping us how things out. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿ€And keeping lots of things to play with also. My medication is making me so hungry this time so could not even think of a fast day so far. Especially with the lovely lunches we have been preparing. Oh well. Most of it very healthy. Off to the pool first thing tomorrow and then home to continue the clean out. D has been over most of the time also and is coming back for another throw out session at lunchtime tomorrow. lucky OH is the one that decided we had to move ..he has been surprisingly silent about keeping anything but can see the look on his face and the deep breaths!๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ค! Priceless..kids can get away with murder!! ..nite nite all. Sweet dreams”,๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Oh you pegged it PH, kids can get us to do the most unlikely things! Sounds like great progress being made at your house – hurrah! Wow, 3 trailer loads and just getting started๐Ÿ˜‡…. It will make everything so much easier when you move. Not jealous of whoever has to run the mother of all garage sales๐Ÿ˜œ. And look at you knitting them all beautiful caps and things…sorry to hear about the meds and appetite, but kudos on keeping the focus healthy. That’s been my biggest improvement since discovering 5:2, that good whole foods are the way to go even when nothing else is going right. I think I should just hand you several awards for all you’re doing!!๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ† So glad you’re having such fun with your visitors๐Ÿ’•โ™ฅ๏ธ

I’m bound for my annual eval meeting this morning, oh goody. Then perhaps getting to put together D’s new desk if it arrives early enough. It would be great therapy after the meeting. I got thru my FD yesterday, a few peanuts before bed may have put me slightly over. If I can manage a few more, I’ll dare to step on the scale again.๐Ÿ™ˆ Getting critiqued by the dean is enough insult for one day! See you all down the road a bit!๐Ÿ›ฃ๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿทxxx

    Hi all!
It’s nearly 4pm on my fd and I’m going well so far on just coffee and water. I decided I’d better do some housework while our house painter was here so I wouldn’t look like such a lazy cow lying on the couch nursing my laptop….hence the late post! I decided to clean out the bathroom cabinet in our en suite…..omg, I swear there were some lotions and potions, mostly unused! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, that were older than my two girls!! And as for sun creams, I have no way of knowing if they’re still usable or not because all they put on the bottle is how long it will last once opened! I’ve thrown them all out except for one which I know brought home from France last summer.
PH, you’re doing amazing things and certainly making the most of having your family around you. I’m loving the fact that you can get all that clearing out done and your OH daren’t say anything! Priceless and very clever move on your part! And in the middle of all that, you’re knitting away making special creations for everyone….fantastic! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž
Jade, you must live in a mansion…..are you thinking of downsizing? Well done on getting through your fd ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ How did things go with the dean? I hope she appreciates all your hard work and the extras you have done with dedication and commitment to your students. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’š Yes, I think Spanx may be the way to go, (probably a bit like you were suggesting, CG), although I might have to bring bolt cutters to get me out of it at the end of the day because I intend to enjoy all the food and drink on offer! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

Good morning team, so much activity in everyones life, and here am I laying back like Lady Muck being waited on and doing nothing constructive except colour in some intricate patterns in my colouring in book๐Ÿ˜ณ Today is my first check up with the surgeon and removal of stitches. Glenn starts back at work tonight and leaves at 6:20pm tonight and home 3:30am so I’m pretty much asleep when he is gone. He sleeps through the day but the boys and I are quiet and as known from his childhood, it would take a bomb to wake him. He always says don’t try to be quiet as he will never hear us, but it’s courtesy I think being as quiet as possible and besides, there aint a lot of noise in colouring in๐Ÿ˜Š Funny, I’m becoming quite addicted to it. I don’t need anymore crocheting at home, both my kids have blankets I’ve done for them, so this is keeping my mind active enough as well as my hands.
Time for a hot wash, and Glenn just up, so he will wash my hair over the laundry trough before we head off. TODAY I can have a shower after the check up๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh and it will be a long one.
Our thoughts are for the families and victims in Orlando, such unnecessary cruelty and sadness.
” there are two ways to be happier….improve your reality or lower your expectations”โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’—

Hi team, just a check in to let you know my surgeon was thrilled at my recovery, she said one more visit next Thursday then I can go back to my little farm. Then come back four weeks later for a final check. So one very happy little camper hereโ˜บ๏ธXxx

Good luck with the doc CG, hope not too painful – and enjoy that lovely long shower๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿšฟ๐Ÿšฟ๐Ÿ”† it will feel like heaven๐Ÿ˜‡

Orlando is all anyone can talk about here, so awful…and of course the debate continues on why any citizen would need automatic rifles. OH tonight said it’s a shame we can’t do as Australia did. Not sure if any number of deaths would convince the rigid hearts in our congress.๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ’”

Fit hope you made it thru the FD? I survived the dean! And the chainsawing (after a storm) and several other ordeals. Off to bed then, today was a long one….๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ˜ด hug your loved ones – here’s a hug from me {{{๐Ÿ’•}}} xx

    Hi all!
CG, that’s brilliant news! I’m so thrilled and happy for you. I bet that shower was absolute bliss…..mmmm, ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ƒ It must be a great relief to hear how well you’re healing, (obviously due to Glenn’s nursing!), and that you’ll be able to get back to your little patch of paradise with your gorgeous Danny and Lexie. Keep up the good work recuperating, the colouring sounds like a very calming and destressing way to keep you from doing silly things like building a barn or whatever! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Jade, it’s good to hear you survived the encounter with the dean….did she survive your news? Chainsawing? You’re like an Amazon, is there anything you can’t tackle? ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ I did well on my fd and the scales looked good this morning but I won’t be counting on that too much because it’s straight after fasting and Friday is my official weekly weigh in. The sis who lives near me and I are going to meet with our sister’s psychiatrist today to hear what he has to say about her deterioration and to tell him a few home truths about how she (and we) have been treated by staff.
I don’t know what can be done about the gun culture in the US. It’s hard to see how things can be changed when history and tradition are so ingrained. Also, big money is involved, so that dictates a lot. There are quite strict gun laws here but gun and knife crime are becoming more and more common. I don’t have any answers but I do think young children need to be shown and taught that violence doesn’t solve anything. I also think screen violence has a huge influence. Ok, off my soapbox now! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ––

Morning, Fit! Well done on the fasting๐Ÿ’ช Your new snack-free lifestyle should reward you handsomely Friday.๐Ÿ† You must be feeling slimmer! Wishing you the best with the meeting about your sis – is the doc on staff at her hospital? Hoping there are some real solutions….

Hey with a pint of beer (or two๐Ÿ˜‰) we’ll need an extra large soapbox when we get together. Facts and statistics are so easily twisted here to support guns for everyone, because it’s not guns that kill, it’s people. I mean wtf who thinks that makes sense. Eek, right, climbing down off the box now. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

Oh, chainsaws are easy and so handy! I bought a small electric one a few years back, tired of being helpless to clear the yard of random branches that were too large to haul off. Ha, even D said “mom call a tree service!” Well sure, I would, but they charge money for something I can do in half an hour and heaven knows when they’d show up. This thing was about 30 feet long and covering the sidewalk.

Ok so FD Sunday, yesterday was very restrained overall, dare I get on the scales? No. Let’s see if I can behave for a whole week first! That sounds so pathetic for someone who’s lived several thousand weeks, but lol don’t wanna peak too soon. CG great news about how well you’re healing! Do keep it up and as Fit said don’t go building a barn or mucking the stalls just yet! I know you will love returning home to your slice of paradise. Continued good vibes for your healing๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”† Love to all you Aussies โ™ฅ๏ธxxx

Hi there Jade! It sounds like you’re getting back on track too, so we’ll hop on the scales at the end of the week and blame each other if things go wrong ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ The meeting with the doc (he’s the psych at the hospital) didn’t shed any real light on my sis, except that he said he has her on a very potent cocktail of meds to try and improve her mood etc but she is very resistant to them. He is advising her to attend a day centre for Alzheimer’s and dementia sufferers but she doesn’t want to do that. She will be having a fairly comprehensive MRI scan next Monday to see if there is an identifiable cause for her physical complaints. If not, then it’s all about managing her mental state. If the carers can do that, great….if not, she’ll have to go into a nursing home. At least, we’ll know we’ve tried everything.
Stay strong, my dear pal and we’ll keep on slaying the dragons and show those scales who’s boss! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Morning Fit and Jade. I totally agree with you Jade, why pay others if it’s doable ourselves. We really are capable of a lot when forced into situations๐Ÿ˜‰ 20 years ago I would never believe I could do some of the things I do these days. The old addage of “his” jobs and “her” jobs is long gone๐Ÿ˜Š Good for you, I know the chainsaw you are talking about, I keep thinking I should get one but have an internal fear of them. I do have a small battery one which does branches up 1.5-2″ and find it wonderful for pruning and I often wonder, if something did happen to me, on the farm, how long would it be before I was found? So try safety first, but admit, my AD and bloody mindedness does get in the way at times๐Ÿ˜ณ
Fit at least they sound to be doing something constructive for your sister. Did you complain about the staff? It’s all a wait and see isn’t it? Just try to enjoy your freedom whilst it lasts๐Ÿ˜Š By the way, how is the house sale going, any nibbles yet? And I KNOW how beautiful you will be looking….1k down or not! โค๏ธ
Another freezing morning, but a beautiful day coming up. Rain then expected the next 4-5 days, but that usually means warmer frost free days so I’m sitting patiently, being productive with coloured pencils ๐Ÿ˜ letting my body heal and trying not to be too stir crazy๐Ÿ˜œ Cuddles to you both ๐Ÿ’—โ˜บ๏ธxxx

Mornin’ CG. I do all the painting and decorating in my house but both OH and I are useless at diy. The few times we tried, we ended up either breaking something or making such a botch of it that we had someone to fix our mess! My OH only has to look at a machine or a tool to break it! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Yes I did complain about the staff but it was just glossed over with a very perfunctory apology. Still, we made our point and the nurse or whoever she was, will probably get her knuckles rapped!
I think you’re mixing me up with Jade….I’m not selling my house, just getting it painted because it badly needs it! Thanks for the lovely compliment…I’m going to hope for the best but not stress over it. After all, everyone will be looking at the bride!
It’s great to hear you’re so content to relax and let Mother Nature work her magic and healing powers on you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ž

Morning CG๐Ÿ”†oh you’re in that devilish middle ground, far enough along in the recuperation stage to be a bit impatient to get on with the show and be completely back to normal. Stick with the routine, dear girlโ™ฅ๏ธ It’s hard, I know – after foot surgery I crawled down the steps and to the kitchen for coffee because I didn’t want to wake OH. He discovered me midway, of course, because it was taking a bloody hour, and then lectured me for another good hour lol. Later had to haul me to the hospital for dehydration because I too could not handle the pain meds. We girls are peas in a pod re sitting still, no wonder we all landed on this thread together.๐Ÿ˜

Dear Fit, you know you have tried everything, whatever may be the next step for your sister. I’ve heard that explanation before from doctors treating my mom, they experiment because everyone is so different in the way they react. I’m just so sorry there isn’t an easier solution but will keep fingers crossed they can help her. In the meantime, I’m glad you’re looking after your own health – let’s just kick ass this whole week and see what happens!
Now to finish putting together this infernal desk for D, it’s a POS and not nearly worth the money spent. Fortunately there was a damaged piece, so they’ll pick it up no charge if we don’t want to keep it. Now there’s a bit of good luck๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘. Ta for now – xx
ps – we crossed, Fit – I did wonder what house you were selling! Glad you’re staying put ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ˜‰oooooh aaaaah!! Just had the longest first shower since last Monday mmmmmmm
My corset is in the wash so just have the binder on, oh the relief โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š They said make it quick, don’t worry about hair, just a quick body wash mmmmmm, couldn’t have been listening๐Ÿ˜ But I have my shower stool here, and shower chair for when I get out, Glenn still sound asleep after getting in at 3:30am, so couldn’t wait any longer and it was magic ๐Ÿ˜Š The simple things we take for granted, like our morning shower, is the biggest thing we miss.
Fit I meant your parents home, that you are selling. Is it on the market yet?
I’m going for a short drive soon, just up to Aldi, very close here, I forgot how convenient suburban shopping was, everything is so close, too damned close, I’m spending every day. I have a hankering for a tuna mornay for dinner, so just a few things to grab that a bachelor doesn’t have in the pantry/fridge๐Ÿ˜Š Plus, wanting to feel my independance again….but I’m being unusually good, so don’t worry๐Ÿ˜Š
Okay, hair and make up now, starting to look and feel human again. ๐Ÿ’—โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฑXxxx

Golly CG you make that shower sound so good I want to go take one myself! Glad it was such a delight, you’re right the basic things are really the ones we miss the most. Makes you almost feel sorry for rich people, huh? Well, almost!๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜œ
Good night from the crazy US — big (gentle) hugs๐Ÿ’• and don’t forget to fetch the corset from the laundry๐Ÿ˜‚ xxxx

    Hi there CG and Jade!
Thanks for the kind words Jade. It’s taken quite a while, in fact all our lives, to realise there is only so much we can do for our sister, especially as she is so unwilling to help herself. So, we’ve our plan now for where we’ll go from here which will involve stepping back and handing as much as can over to the carers.
Ha, I had to laugh as I was trying to decipher what kind of desk is a POS desk?!! Duh!! It eventually dawned on me…..he, he ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚ To be fair, I hadn’t had my coffee before I read it!
CG, you must feel so much more comfortable now. I suppose it will be hard to face the corset again but you know you’ll heal more effectively and quicker with it on. Sorry for the crossed wires about the house….yes, we are looking at the prospect of selling my parents’ house, which my sister owns. It’s rented out at the moment but the tenants are leaving in August. We’ve no definite plans yet because we weren’t sure how things would be with my sister on leaving hospital. I’m sure you’re feeling more ‘normal’ now but please don’t overdo things…..rein in that AD energy for a little while longer! Gentle hugs to you ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’š
Big shout out to all the gang, home or abroad. Keep in touch when you can! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’•

Morning Fit – not much up over here, it’s another scorcher of a day, but here I sit wearing my usual 2-dog blanket๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ”ฅ The dogs woke early for the call of nature, so I had a second lie-in downstairs so as not to wake OH with the return of the thundering herd. Very pleasant lazy morning๐Ÿ˜Š I shouldn’t call it a day off, as I have about 100 practice exams to grade for our graduates prepping for the bar exam. But OK I’ll call it that, because plans for the day have little to do with grading.

I’ve enlisted OH into my handyman crew to do some more work at D’s. First stop IKEA to see about a new desk. Lol Fit, glad you figured out the acronym. I couldn’t believe this thing, over $400 and made of cardboard. I wonder if it could even bear the weight of a computer. However, D did like the look of it, so it might yet stay. But I’m a rabid comparison shopper, much to OH’s chagrin ๐Ÿ˜ซ He said last night he wanted to go, though, even to IKEA – I did notice he had a wee nip of Jameson in his glass, so we’ll see how he feels this morning โ˜บ๏ธ

Speaking of the simple pleasures with CG makes me appreciate what a gift it is to feel such joy in small things. Thinking about your sis, Fit, and how her mental condition just won’t allow that – or if it does, that she feels the need to exercise what control she has to reject it and command attention. Definitely beyond your ability to change – hugs and peace to you as that gets sorted. xx

Wow it’s Wednesday and I’ve been good all week so far. Better go find my horse for another good ride๐Ÿ‡ Giddy up y’all๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Love to all the travelers and quiet ones, too -jadexxxxx

Hi team, it’s 2:16am and I’m wide awake. Woke for the call of nature, now having tea and toast!๐Ÿ˜ฑ Oh well, system totally out of kilter at the moment, Glenn due home in just over an hour, so might wait up for him๐Ÿ˜‰. Jade some of Ikeas stuff can look cardboardish ๐Ÿ˜‰ Or like toys, I agree, but if D is happy, and she is refinding her independance, who are we to judge? She sounds to be coping well with her broken heart, no doubt with your help.๐Ÿ’•
Fit yep, trying to rein in the energy, but I’m feeling good, no time for self pity, and getting restless. I’m doing little things here to stop me going dippy, so I guess it is fortunate I’m not home where there is always something to do๐Ÿ˜Š For all I’ve read on this op, I was still expecting to be in bed, and I’m not one to look for sympathy so this will be a looooong week for me๐Ÿ˜Š But I am being good, I promise๐Ÿ˜Š
Enjoy your day Fit and Jade, make it count๐Ÿ’• Cuddles xxxx

    Hi again ladies!
I’ve had a lovely day out with my older d, whose birthday is today. My sis and sis in law who live beside me came along too. We went to a fashion outlet, did some window shopping and had really tasty lunch with coffee and cake for dessert! Yum!
Hope you all survived the trip to IKEA, Jade! I think they should run survival courses before allowing anyone through the doors! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Thank you for the hugs and thoughtful words. Well done on riding that 5:2 bronco! Yeehaw!
CG, I hope you managed to get back to sleep or at least, to resting and relaxing. I know it’s not in your nature to lie around doing very little, but for now, that’s what the doctor has ordered. So, back to colouring or finding some new eye candy to watch on Netflix! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi all. Well, I did have that comfortable trip as far as LA and it was good. The next 5 hours to NY were not so comfortable but I was so tired I kind of dozed sitting straight up anyway.

After a shower, my swollen ankles and my bloated body and I went to dinner with my son, and his partner seems like a lovely girl. For the next 3 nights I woke up at 3.30 and could not get back to sleep for hours! Met a friend whose first comment was “you look tired”. He is a male, no female would tell you that!

So now in Quebec City after a crazy day yesterday. Flight from NY was “too heavy”. They took off half the passengers and all the luggage! We were in the half that “vounteered” to go. They were so desperate that they threw money at us. My husband and I each were paid $1300 to move. So that is about $3000 Aus. all up.

Thank goodness it was so much because our luggage never arrived and it is now a day later! Mind you, the people on the original plane also have no luggage. Can I tell you that my husband was transferred on the phone literally 10 times just now before he was put on to the right person! And cut of twice as well.

There is a cocktail party followed by a dinner tonight. I have told him that I am only going if I have luggage. I am not going with my NY walking shoes and no makeup let alone toothbrush, moisturiser and deodorant! Anyway, we believe it will arrive in Quebec in about half an hour. Let’s see how long it will take to get to our hotel!

I do have a mini toothbrush that I scored from our Qantas upgrade. We are sharing that!

Anyway, the room we have is fabulous with magnificent views. I will be happy to hide here for a while. My poor husband is already in full conference mode and working.

I have read everybody else’s news. Forgive me for not replying individually. I am about to go shower and wash my hair with that fabulous hotel shampoo….
    Cheers all!

OMG, Up! That is quite some tale! Talk about highs and lows! If your luggage doesn’t arrive, how about spending some of that 3,000 on a new outfit etc……after all, you have the perfect excuse and you wouldn’t want to let your OH down by appearing underdressed and dishevelled! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ I hope everything else goes smoothly and that you get to enjoy some of the sights and experiences along the way. It’s wonderful to hear from you and very exciting to imagine your jet set life! Have a brilliant time! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’•

    Hi all.
Lying in bed before the start of what yet again will be another very busy day. Having sooo much fun cleaning out all,of the things from the house that we no longer use. I think my son and DIL could go into business doing this. They are so focused! I can now find everything in my kitchen cupboards based on the premise that if I have not used it in a year then it goes. Did not know I had so many things duplicated!!have all sorts of things now to add to the garage sale and so much space! Even extra bench top space.. oH is still surviving so far. Today is the studio. Goodness knows what will happen. Off to the farmers markets this morning then into it.!

Fit. So good you have finally exhausted all options for your sister and that hopefully your family are all ready to understand that you need to let go if things don’t work out at home with the carers. You have done way above and beyond in the care of her so far and your parents would,be so proud of you sending ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•. Sounds like you are having a very successful time with 5,2 also.

Jade. What a whirlwind. And an accomplished handywoman!! ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ”ฉ๐Ÿ› . Mrs. fixit!!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š. Just love the energy!.

CG. Great you are doing so well! Keep up,the self control!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

I hear little feet coming ..now a little knock on the door so stopping to get my cuddles!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

Thank you so much for your lovely words of understanding and support. I’m so glad to hear that the clearing out is still in full flow and that your OH is handling it all ok. It must be the nicest wake up call ever to hear that little tap on the door….enjoy every precious minute with that gorgeous little boy! ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•

Gosh, it’s spookily quiet here ๐Ÿ˜จ I’m fasting today, OH has gone off to meet a friend for the day, even the painter decided not to come today because the weather is too unpredictable. So I’m feeling very lonely and thinking far too much about food as my tummy rumbles get louder and louder…..eeek! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
