  • Day 23 – 🇬🇧- NFD

So after 3 weeks of fun filled holiday I’m back for the final week of this challenge. Unfortunately I have managed to gain half a stone in that time – but on the up side I’m still just under 11 stone by half a pound.

Very much looking forward to getting back to fasting after all the over indulgence – first fast will be tomorrow. I’m sure it will be hard – to keep on track I’ll have to catch up on the all the posts! Looking forward to eradicating that gain!

    day 24 Queensland Australia FD
Enjoyed an afternoon tea at work yesterday but didn’t go overboard and stuck to savoury rather than sweet. Prefer savoury food anyway…though gotta say the cream cupcakes with strawberries almost tempted me! FD today and looking forward to it! Have lost 1.6 kg so far which isn’t a huge loss but is the right direction which is what I’m looking for. AND the absolute bonus is that I FEEL so much better, energetic, clear minded, not bloated, sleeping well, etc…It’s just a great WOL.
Pocket winos very pleased with myself for having Monday-Thursdays (and some Sundays) alcohol free!! (but I do look forward to Friday nights :))
@okeydokey I hope you get your dental problem sorted soon…toothaches are just AWFUL.
@sirisan…thinking of you and your family.
    Happy Thursday everyone

    2nd Post
@sirisan So sorry about your Brother’s bout with cancer. I’m Sending you virtual warm hugs 🤗🤗🤗. Wishing your brother physical healing and stability. The Best Wishes of ✨Good Health to you, your Brother and your family.✨

    Norway, DAY 23, NFD

Thank you everyone, I love this forum! 😁

@maayyaa and @annemarilyn , let’s do this Tigray her, pound by pound 🙂

Good night! FD tomorrow and actually looking forward to it

    Day 23 Vancouver Island
    NFD

@sirisan Thinking of you and your family.

    Day 23 Canada NFD

It’s a hot summer day- perfect for eating light.
    FD tomorrow!!

    Day 24 AUS NFD

I really struggle mentally in the evening on the second day of a fast, so last night I occupied myself with planning out this whole breakfast for today, which I made, and now I’m so uncomfortably full because I usually break my fast around noon. Oh well, it was really nice and healthy, and next time I’ll know to eat later or not as much. I think my mind needs to catch up with how much less food my stomach needs to be full…

@debster251 I marinated the brussel sprouts in soy sauce, olive oil, freshly squeezed orange and a bit of honey, then caramelized them in the pan. I want to try miso next time, I think it would be really nice.

@keetseel I also found that it was really good to package everything separately. I’ve been able to have a couple of meals from the leftovers and don’t have to guess at calories, it’s been really great.

@sirisan praying for you and your brother during this time. Words aren’t enough.

@okeydokey you’re in my thoughts and prayers xx

@at Thanks for the link! I’m definitely going to look into making some kefir! I feel nervous…

    Day 24 Melbourne Australia FD
Feeling ok about Fast days now, its almost a relief to not have to think about food. Off to the doctors again…. he’s called me back for results. He swabbed me for flu so that would make sense as last week I felt like a bus had run over me. Feeling bit better now so hopefully that will continue!
Egg salad planned for dinner with a yoghurt and pear this morning. Lots of cups of nice Earl Grey tea in between.
Good luck and be strong everyone

Please count me in the August challenge. Since last year my weight has spiraled up – add a stressful house move and new job, I feel unhealthy and bloated all the time. Need to lose around 11 kilos. So just thought, it’s about time I did something about it! Have my landmark birthday next year and want to feel and look fabulous for both! I am new to this, so any support will be much appreciated

    Day 24 – Tokyo, Japan – NFD 81.3kg

My weight is up but my fat is lower, I can even clearly see just looking in the mirror, I did it some damage. 🙂 I’ve also been eating a lot of fiber so my system is likely heavy from that. Frankly I’m very impressed with how fast my weight changes. However this weight is different than it was two weeks ago.

    @okeydokey – Health effects of fasting …
    1) Just fasting for around day probably really helps the liver function better and
improves hormone levels. Sounds small but it is a huge impact.
    2) Fasting around 3 days causes a lot of clean up of old cells, maybe we should do
    that once in awhile
    3) Fasting a week … probably overkill but I haven’t notice damage from it. I think
it helped with some healing. Maybe it is all in my head. I don’t think I would
do it more than once a year though.
    4) Long fasts … I not ready for that …

I’m pretty sure that a week didn’t have negative impact on my lean body mass, but I also stayed active. Some people just rest, read or do inactive things for a week. I’m not ready for that yet and my body seems to do better with some exercise. Besides I have to keep earning money to provide education and food to my family.

Now I know my body is okay at even under 75kg so I have new goals in mind. I have enough fat to lose that I can get to a “healthy” or at least normal BMI.

@sirisan prayers from me for your brother and for you — may there be miracles.

    Still Day 23 –

I just realized that I’ve almost completed 3 FDs B2B. Monday was one with food & and Tuesday I got inspired by @okeydokey and others to go for a liquid one. Today I thought I’d see and now I’ve only got a couple of hours left until bedtime. Looks like under 100 cal. for each liquid day. Going for an 800 or less tomorrow as I had to a Start-up day at school.

@sirisan – adding my prayers for your brother & sending (((hugs)))

Hi all – back again after totally falling by the wayside in July…..didn’t make the probably unrealistic target I set myself, and with lots of summer festivities and holidays, and now thru’ the summer hols am looking after my grandchildren of 7 and 4….Full of excuses that one hears time and time again I have put on almost all of the weight lost earlier in the year. (nearly 8 of 11 lbs lost!!!!). So a complete failure. The most frustrating thing of all is that I was really sold on the fd way of life, and just couldn’t ever imagine not doing it. But here I am, fat and feeling unhealthy and tired and addicted to bread again which I had done happily without for at least 4 months. So I would love to be welcomed back into the fold for the September challenge….I have to prepare myself over the next week to “get into the groove” again…and by then the children will be back at school and it will be easier to get into a proper routine. It was good to read the month’s posts to see that a core of stalwarts have remained and are doing so well.
It’s a sleepless night for me (so it’s not only fd’s that keep you awake!). The worry of being out of control again is weighing on my mind. Roll on September.

    Ehm….from last post: “Tigray her” = together…
Hahaha, I have no idea what my phone just did… stupid auto correct…

    Norway, Day 24, FD.

Looking forward to fasting today, have a great day everyone!

    Day 23 NFD 🌈
    Day 24 NFD 🌈

Thought I would get straight back to it but August seems to be my celebration month. Whoops, maybe tomorrow will be an FD. I say this with optimism and hope! 😂😂😂

    Have a good day all.

    Day 24 – Kristiansand, Norway – NFD

Good morning, its 7:45 on a rainy Thursday morning, and I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. I feel sad and “don’t care” at the same time, weird  I have a Polar scale, only measuring weight. I know from before that sometimes it plays jokes on me, like taking away 2 kg (4.4lbs)….and then if you check it twice, they are back on. So wise from previous joking I always step on the scale 2-3 times. Today when I first stepped on it said 88.7kg (195.5lbs)and I was SOOOO happy, for a nano second, until I realized it had to play a trick on my, so I stepped on again. Same numbers…I started to believe, yet not… so I went to let the dogs out, and the run back to check the third time…  90.3 (199lbs) Very stupid of me to be “sad” about “only” 90.3kg (199lbs) when that is 4,1kg (9lbs)down on 3,5 weeks…but I really LOVED 88,7 (199lbs). I’m at 199lbs now and maybe I should just be happy I didn’t gain anything since last weekend. Good thing I weighed in today, I was planning on not weighing in until the end of August, but now I have one more week to do it all. FD Monday, yesterday and tomorrow and then hopefully two more FD’s next week before the final weigh in next Thursday. I guess I got a good flying start the first two weeks, and maintained it the next 1,5week 
My FD yesterday ended up around 350kcal, so a good one. I don’t struggle too much with my FD’s, except for the headaches. I try to drink lots of water, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Any tips?

I’m admiring @dykask for your long fast, would be really fun to try, but I guess it’s too soon for me to jump into that. Need to get my headaches under control first.
Did I misunderstand something, or are we saying that weighing in after a day of exercise may add to the weight? Due to holding on to water?
And did you @dykask go up 5kg on your 7 day fast? How and why? Do you know?
Very often when I read through all the posts I think “oh I’m going to ask about that”, “comment on that” and so on, but then when I sit there and write my own post I forget 

Welcome @way2fit, I’m a newbie too, been here since July 31st. I’m the kind who keeps this new WOE/WOL a secret until I can show some results, so in the beginning I struggled to find a way to keep it a secret especially for a certain someone in my office, but now nobody notices. Nobody has commented on me losing 4kg either  hahaha…well, another 6kg and they have to see it. Due to this secrecy, I really enjoy having this forum to read and write to.
About @happymargo’s saying: “Will this get me closer to my goal”: Actually I asked myself that on Tuesday, a NFD, and the answer was YES  when I had a small chocolate in my hand…because letting me have that little piece of chocolate right there and then, made me not eat a whole 200grams-bar 

    Day 24 UK NFD

So managed the two liquid only FD and the scales showing 60.6 Kg today. That’s 2.1 Kg gone ( almost 5 lb) for the month so far! I’m sooo hungry though… will need to keep a rein on things today! Decided to set a final target of 59 Kg (130lb ) , just so I’m not in the 60s and will also give me some leeway.

Good luck all fellow fasters today. Have a good one!

Day 24 Newcastle UK 🇬🇧 FD.
3lb over goal hopefully a fast and mindful eating will pull it down to where it should be.
Good luck everyone keep at it.

    Day 24 Ireland FD

Yesterday turned into an impromptu NFD as we went out to dinner. Delighted to see I had lost a quarter pound on the scales this morning, I was expecting fully to be up.

Today has to be a FD and I am ready for it. It’s the first of a B2B….I might try liquids only tomorrow …but it seems scary to me too and not sure if I can do it.

@bert1802. Thanks for your encouragement. I have been on this WOE for about 30 days now so it’s relatively new. I guess with my DH I was annoyed that he was not being more discreet with the tasty foods….we both successfully lost 50 lbs each when we did the Dukan Diet together and we provided support for each other. He is not doing the 5:2 now

    2nd post

After almost two months into this WOE I’m really struggling with feeling hungry and wanting to eat all the time, even though my stomach is full, and a few weeks ago I was fine. Has anybody been through this? Is it weird? Does it pass? Please help!

    Day 24 – Woking, UK – NFD
    243.5lbs
And the gym weight comes back off. Good fast day yesterday so aiming for controlled days today and tomorrow so I don’t undo all the progress between now and my next fast day on Monday.
@maayyaa – it’s fairly common for weight to go up after intensive exercise, especially if that exercise is weightlifting/resistance training. The reason is that when you stress the muscles it creates lots of microscopic tears which need to be healed to build the muscle. As this is basically an inflammation response, the muscles hold more water whilst they heal. It can also happen with cardio training if it’s sufficiently different to what you are used to. Personally I prefer weightlifting as my main exercise and can usually guarantee a 1.5-2lb gain the day after lifting as I’m working on increasing my weights at the moment.

    Day 24, UK, NFD
The 0 kcal B2B2B went well and I am now down to 82kg; 1.5kg down for the month. And 24.5kg down since March 20th. Still 5kg to go to get to the target, but with some concerted effort it might happen in September 😀

After a successful FD to 5pm (100 cals) OS came to take us to belated dinner for OH’s birthday, so mindful choices made, but probably not a FD. Hey ho!

Yesterday’s plank challenge update: 60 secs full plank, 30 secs side plank on each side, 30 secs elbow plank, 15 sec each side left/right leg raised.

    That’s a result @bigviking!
@laurealice thank you for that link. It’s lovely to get a ‘flavour’ of where our posters live on this international forum.
@dykask – I followed your fast with interest and was a little surprised – did I get it right – that you put on 5 Kg? I don’t understand, but I know you will have analysed each number. However, the health benefits of a fast like this must far outweigh the weight aspect. I take my hat off to you.
@sirisan – thinking of you. Xo
@liathanail/@califdreamer I’m impressed how you put your weight on the spreadsheet. Maybe doing that would give me the kick up the backside I need!
@keetseel, I think you’re right. As we get older, being too thin can be very ageing. I’ve already lost too much from my face, and would stop now if it wasn’t for this spare tyre!
    @jessyoursize – I admire your resolve!
TLC2 I’m sure your holiday was worth it!
Thanks for the sprouts tip @losing_it.
@way2fit welcome to the end of the August challenge, which hopefully will morph into the September challenge. Your name is on the spread sheet to use if you wish.

Please start your post with the day of the month – today is Day 24, your location which helps us to keep in touch with our international posters and whether it is a fast day or non Fast day. Good luck with your journey. You’re in a great place for advice and motivation.
Welcome back @jarbia and NO, you are not a failure! Life happens. That word isn’t allowed here! Why not start now with a couple of fasts before the start of the new month, just to get you back in the swing?
@maayyaa – if I were you, I’d stick to weighing once! You’re a winner, whatever they read!
We’re on the final leg of this month’s challenge. Let’s make every day count!

Remember: Slow progress is better than no progress!

Day 24 UK NFD Feels good to have got 2 FDs under my belt this week, feel much more in control and generally feel good. @jarbia be kind to yourself, ease yourself back in gently and you’ll be back in the swing of things , and remember you are still in a better position than before you started 😃

@coda Hope all good with you and no confessions 💪

    Day 23 North Wales FD

@mari84 Congratulations, dropping below the 90kg mark will give you a tremendous boost.

@missybear Wine I thought was my weakness, I changed to gin and slimline tonic. I am not missing the wine, but I am now finding gin is my weakness 😂😂😂😂 I need to spend some time at my daughters, as I find I do not drink there.

@penz I do not really mind what I weigh, I just want to be able to fit into more of the clothes in my wardrobe, lose the belly fat and feel good about myself. I have nearly completed 2.5 months of the fast diet and all of these things are happening. I find that really motivating.

@sirisan Thinking of you, your brother and your family as you go through these difficult times.

@tlc2 I bet you lose that half a stone really quickly once you get back on track.

@jarbia Welcome back to the fold. The support you get here is fabulous and you will soon be back on track. I struggle to sleep well. I think it’s my age 😩

@maayyaa Only one person has commented on the stone I have lost. I was disappointed but I think it may be because some people don’t like commenting on your weight 😂

@losing_it I have had the occasional day where I have felt I want to eat and eat. I have found increasing my fluid intake makes the feeling pass, especially if I drink sparkling water.

@bigviking Wow you are so close to target. Well done.

    Hoping for a successful FD

Together we are stronger 💪💪💪💪💪💪 Onwards and Downwards.

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.

    Day 24, Wales, FD

Hi everyone, have a happy and healthy Thursday.

Day 24, London, UK, FD (3rd of B2B2B)

Final day of my B2B2B, feeling good about it, after a hectic (sad) start to August I’m finally back on track and LOVING it, I think fasting settles my mind, probably because there’s one less thing taking up my limited brain space!!!!! I never realised, before this WOL, just how much time I spent thinking about, talking about, and of course, consuming FOOD!!!!

@sirisan…..hugs and positive thoughts to you and yours.

@okeydokey, you know you have to bite the bullet (in your case, suck the bullet!!!!) and squeeze @fordprefect hand for all you’re worth (don’t worry, he’s got another one!!), we’ve got you, and you’ve GOT THIS!!!!

@tlc2, good going, it only took me 2 weeks (who invented holidays anyway??) to reacquire 7lbs!!! Thankfully 4 FDS took care of that holiday baggage!!!

To everyone having a bit of a wobble, this has been my go-to quote for ‘Those’ times………………. as @at quoted in June…….

“If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now”

So true and very apt, stay strong everyone!!!!

    Day 24, Gozo Malta, nfd

Losing_it try eating raw vegetables such as tomatoes or cooked vegetables which are not high in calories and eat as much as you want. But there are days you ll just feel hungry and want to eat and eat. It will pass but knowing you can eat something and drink water or tea as much as you want helps.
You’ll get there and you can do it, I know from experience

Onwards and downwards, have a great Thursday everyone

    Day 24….. Florida…..FD

Yesterday was a NFD, and I noticed I didn’t get my regular amount of water in. I really need to tame my NFD’s. I’ve switched my FD up doing 2days in a row at 800 calories then a NFD followed by 2 more 800 calorie days. All in an attempt to wrangle my NFD into more manageable and controlled eat days.

@maayyaa…. If I may be a bit bold here….. You my friend, got to stop playing with those scales. First besides being lying, thieving manipulators, scales cannot give you a true indication that this WOE works. I fear you may be setting yourself up here, by putting so much stock into what they say. Use other devices such as a measuring tape, your clothes and how you feel as your end all be all.
True story here….. I was stuck on plateau mountain at 140lbs for 4 long months. During those months, I had some major milestones….. I still lost a pant size, and my measurements still kept going down. It’s been a month since I’ve been off the plateau bouncing around like a tennis ball 2lbs up, 2lbs down….138lbs, then 136lbs right back up to 138. I started Aug at 137…. but in this month so far…. I’m down another pant size…. so happy about that but angrier that a hornets nest that again for the third time in 8 months I’ve got to go by new under ware/panties/ undergarments again cuz they are too big again…..
okay….. really not to upset about the underware thing but I got some really cute ones last time…..
so, please my friend be kind to yourself, forgive me for being so bold, and let other areas be your guide.

It looks like we have a couple newbies as well…. let me welcome you to this wild ride. Do your best and stay connected….Each and everyone of us will offer you support out of love and commitment not only to each other but also for this WOL.

Well, I’m off to face the day…….

I was addicted to the hokey pokey then I turned myself around

    Day 24 – London – NFD
Terrible day at work yesterday, can’t face a fast day today.

    2nd post…
@saffy420 (and anyone else with a rhubarb glut) – in case you still have some rhubarb left after your amazing-sounding rhubarb and custard tart… this is a recipe from the café where I chef. It’s not low calorie per se, but you can cut the bars quite small and the oats mean they are still very satisfying.

    Fruit crisp bars

    350g coconut oil
    350g + a handful oats
350g flour (plain or gluten free)
    350g + 1 tbsp light brown sugar
    ½ tsp spice (cinnamon/ginger/mixed spice)
2 or 3 stems rhubarb (or other fruit in season)
METHOD: Melt coconut oil. Mix oats, flour, sugar, spice. Add coconut oil. Press into a lined tray. Chop enough rhubarb into 2cm chunks to scatter over the top of the mix. Sprinkle over another handful of oats and a spoonful of sugar. Bake at 180C for 20-30 mins until golden, cool then chill overnight to set hard. Slice into bars.

Sweet rhubarb compote (add a little sugar and vanilla to sweeten – vanilla adds mellow sweetness for fewer calories), also good with strawberries while in season) is another staple on the menu. We serve it with our own granola and thick yoghurt from the local dairy, or warm banana bread.

And a savoury one – sharp rhubarb compote (simply cook down the rhubarb in a splash of water) with grilled mackerel or pulled lamb. Serve with wilted greens or bitter salad leaves. That’s probably the most FD friendly one too, full of flavour and low in calories.

I have a glut of plums and apples from friends’ gardens at the moment… I’ve made a thoroughly indulgent salted chocolate brownie with whisky caramel apples for the weekend (I’ll have 14 hungry campers to share it with), and planning a plum and ginger cake for the freezer. Any suggestions much appreciated!

    Day 24, US, FD

Some great quotes in recent posts. MoliJ “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.” Love it! And FlourBaby, ““If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now” is exactly what I need to remind myself.

    Day 24 – USA (Illinois) – FD

Maintenance and people noticing our bodily changes: YES! It seems more people will comment at the gym because they know you’re there to get a better/healthier body. But after losing about 30 pounds, more people did comment at other times or places. And they always put it as a question e.g. “how much weight have you lost?” or “you’ve really lost weight, haven’t you?” So much of mine was in my hips/bum that when I turned around, they noticed!

The discussion of weight gain after exercise is one we have had at various times here. The scale isn’t your friend then.

@maayyaa — my gain after my exercise class is about 1 to 1.5 pounds. I can count on it.

@liathanail — gave a great explanation as to why that happens.

    Onward and downward!

    Day 24 Melbourne, Australia FD
Flour Baby, Ijust love that quote you said inspires you to keep going:
“If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now” Because that’s me. To a tee.
I should get a t-shirt or fridge magnet made to remind me. This is a long process but a process that has so many health benefits, not the least of which is weight loss.
im hoping for an improvement in my bronchiectasis (there’s one for you to look up!😀) my asthma and my overall poor immune system. I have to continue and believe these things will improve!!
Thanks everyone for all the words of support and encouragement for us all, it’s a great place this forum

Day 24 Akron OH first of three B2B2B FD. I am swamped at work. Can’t wait for this week to be over.

    Day 24 – USA – NFD

A good fast day yesterday, 474 cals., but really struggled with hunger. August was a month where I went back to eating sugar a few times, and my body really let me know it was a no-no. Feeling bloated and size 14s are tight again…must get back to better choices. Glad birthdays are only once a year, lol!

    Day 24 USA FD

Day 24, Rocky Mountains, US, FD

Another plan for a FD today and tomorrow. Yesterday’s FD never happened. Lack of sleep is not helping, I feel hungry all the time lately @losing_it. You are not alone. It will pass but it is a bit of a struggle right now.

Have a good Thursday everyone! 😊😊😊

    Day 24 – UK – FD

@jarbia – welcome back, this is a great caring community
@debster251 – well done on your plank challenge, I still can’t do 30 seconds simple plank, but I am enjoying pilates and yoga so starting to tone up and strengthen my none existent muscles.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

Day 24 FD (800 cal) St. Louis USA

Thank you to everyone who commented and said wishes and healing for my brother and my family. It means so much to feel loved and touched. I will get caught up with posts hopefully by this weekend.

All my best to all of you and may the fast be with you.

    France – FD

Such a beautiful day here, hope you all have blue skies in your various necks of the woods.

@Losing-it / @redrockgirl302 I went through a very hungry phase after about 6 weeks of following this WOL. Maybe tiredness, I don’t know. I found that a hard-boiled egg and an apple for lunch helped.

@at A kefir question please. I love all things home-made and make my sourdough bread/yoghurt/tofu/all cleaning materials, etc but during hols I tried my hand at milk kefir for the first time. I usually buy it from my health shop and love it. I used fresh milk from the farm in my village and boiled then left to cool. It ‘set’ within 24 hours and tasted fine. However it really upset my tum and I felt quite bad for a few days. A friend said you should leave it in the fridge for 48 hours before drinking it, do you know if this is true? It’s actually put me off trying again, which is disappointing. Thanks!

Day 24 – SW WA USA – FD

@mari 84 – thanks for clarifying, I was going to try to look it up

I got confused, Monday was an eclipse party so no FD then. But 2 liquid b2b for Tuesday & Wednesday. Scale moving downwards. Off to school. Hopefully keeping to an 800 FD at least.

I found a pretty cool tool to keep track of your weight loss. It’s called Body Visualizer. It was developed as a means for online retailers to custom fit clothing for their customers. Just plug in your height and weight measurements and you will see a representation of your body. The algorithm is done with actual human measurements in terms of real humans being measured via a computer scan. To say this is accurate is an understatement. I plan on using this tool to map my progress. See it here: http://bodyvisualizer.com

    Day 24, South Wales, FD
Sorry for not posting very often, but very inspiring to read all your stories in order to stay on-track!

    Day 24, UK, CD

    Day 24, Emden Germany, NFD

@at that sounds positive, she’s so lucky to have you!

@maayyaa don’t weigh yourselve so much, scales don’t tell you everything. When I started this WOL, I weighed once every day after getting out of bed, ofcourse went to the bathroom first, the scales did go up and down, often without any sense. I’m on mainenance now and seldom weigh myself (scales are at another floor in the house, have to go downstairs now), I look in the mirror and have one dress I want to fit in, it’s much better than scales. Don’t be disappointed when people don’t comment on your weight loss, it takes a while before someone notices it but then the positiv comments will come. People don’t tend to notice eachother much, we just think they do. Try to be more relaxed, you’re doing so well, it’s not a race.

@maddyg that’s really cool, did I look like that weighing 20 kg more? Yes I did, not good, don’t want to look like that ever again.

    2nd Post

@annemarilyn you said this morning that you were inspired by @okeydokey and others to try a liquid only FD on Tuesday and that got me thinking. I was scared to try the liquid only but figured today would be my best day to give it a shot. Busy in work, DH working until 10 tonight so no dinner temptation….so I trotted off to work with an emergency supply of a hard boiled egg (just in case I broke 😄).

Home from work now and determined to see this through. I did have a cup of beef oxo at lunch time. It’s only 8 cals and the hot beefy drink is a lifesaver 👍

So excited to see this FD liquid only day through and tomorrow is my 2nd day…..though not sure if I will do another liquid only FD B2B.

    Love the inspiration here..

    Day 24 – Cumbria UK – NFD

A lovely start to the day with an aerobic class at 9am followed by a coffee with OH…..

I have to admit dear Pocket Winos that I have strayed badly for the past 3 weeks – too much socialising and a holiday meant way too much 🥂and 🍷but some very nice times has been had 😉 surprisingly despite this but by still doing my 2 x FD each week I have managed to stay below my target weight – what is there not to love about this WOL??????

@sirisan – my thoughts remain with you and your family “Live each day with wings of faith and roots of hope” 🤗
@mari84 – Agreed – this is a great forum full of support and humour and great advice – great job dropping below the 90kg mark!
@losing_it – I’m not a great fan of brussel sprouts but your recipe sounds tempting – Good luck with the Kefir – so easy to do – tastes good and is great for your health too
@melf123 – stay with this WOL and keep joining the monthly challenges for motivation – great support provided and it certainly worked for me
@way2fit – WELCOME stay with us on the monthly challenges and it will change your life – you can do this for you
    @annemarilyn – you are on a roll 3 B2B FDs 😇
@jarbia – nice to hear from you again – thought we had lost you for a bit – never a “failure” that word is not recognised on here remember……..your cyber family is always here to hold on to you tight – YOU CAN DO THIS – In the words of Christopher Robin “You are braver than you believe and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”
@lynzm – Join me on a FD tomorrow Day 25 and we will hold on tight to each other ……
@maayyaa – I would advice eating to the TDEE of your target weight and not your current weight on your NFD and 500cal on your NFD – try to drink around 2L of water daily and you should see a steady weight loss. Note – it is amazing how many green/red/coloured vegetables you can eat for your calories! Re weighing yourself – great advice from @bert1802 – try weighing once a week after your 2nd FD and stick to that for a month – so more positive and empowering I have found!
@flourbaby – this has been my go to reminder in this wOL “If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now” – glad it resonated with you too.
@tea-girl20 and @saffy420 – lots of coconut oil and sugar in that Fruit Crisp recipe!!! but the rhubarb with mackerel is a healthy and great meal for me – For two of us I make a chutney using 50gms caster sugar; 2cm/¾in piece root ginger, peeled and finely chopped; 1 shallot, finely chopped; 3 or 4 sticks rhubarb, chopped; 5 tbsp cider vinegar; 1 orange, juice only and serve with grilled mackerel fillets and roasted beetroot and mixed leaves
OR a rhubarb crumble using oats and nuts as a crumble topping
@laurealice – to make kefir you need to invest in some kefir grains – you do not need to boil the milk – you simply add milk to the grains and let them do their magic – this link might be useful to you

    @snowflake56 – thank you
@daffodil2010 – you are so right – this forum is wonderful for inspiring us – TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER

Off to prepare dinner for OH and myself for tonight – such a lovely recipe – thought I would share it
    2 dressed crabs
    200g (8oz) beetroot, thinly sliced
    125g (5oz) grapefruit, segments
    60g (2 ½ oz) radish, thinly sliced
    70g (3oz) pea shoots
    70g (3oz) fennel
10g (1/2 oz) dill, finely chopped

    For the dressing:
    60ml (3floz) coldpressed rapeseed Oil
    20ml (1floz) white wine vinegar
For the citrus mayonnaise: If you feel the need for it
    50ml (2floz) mayonnaise
    ½ lemon, zest and juice
5g (1/4 oz) dill, finely chopped

Thinly slice the beetroot and leave aside to add later
Add the grapefruit, radish, fennel and chopped dill to a bowl. Mix well with your fingers and leave in the fridge for 30 mins
For the dressing, place the oil and vinegar in a bowl and whisk well using a fork or small balloon whisk. Alternatively, place the oil and vinegar in a jar, put the lid on tightly and shake it
For the citrus mayonnaise, place the mayonnaise, lemon zest and juice and dill in a small bowl and mix together
When ready to serve, add the chopped pea shoots and the beetroot to the bowl, pour in your dressing and gently toss the salad together, making sure everything has a good coating of the dressing
Place the salad on your serving plates with your dressed crab
Serve with mayonnaise on the side; pour a glass of cold white wine (Pocket winos!!!) and enjoy

There is no elevator to success! We have to take the stairs and every now and then we have to pause at a landing in between each set of stairs!

Second post, a pretty good CD.

I do only weigh in once a week, this morning it was a week and 2 days actually….and i dont really feel much better or tighter, and my clothes dont fit remarkably better,,,probably due to my wide clothes :)…i will try my tight black jeans tomorrow. Regarding measurements, i dont think I’m doing that right…I lay down in bed and tighten the measure around hips, waist(bellybutton-hight)…

Regarding the TDEE, i am almost always below my target weight TDEE…if I’ve found a trustworthy TDEE calculator, 160cm hight, and 60kg weigh, gives me just above 1600kcal. I usually end up at 1200-1400 when i have controlled days. During this month most of my days have either been CD or FD, with a couple of exceptions, like this past weekend. Today is a NFD and i had an ice-cream (267kcal), OMG, not good in my stomach, lets just say it came out pretty rapidly.

I will be happy and content with my 4.1kg down since August 1st, and hopefully i will soon both see it on my body and notice on my clothes.

    Doing my 3rd FD tomorrow.
