  • Day 29 Ohio, US —- NFD

    Pretty quiet day.

@missybear Itโ€™s been quite rainy here, so my walks have had also to be timed well to get them in. In fact, the rain schedule now sets my walking schedule which now sets the schedule for the rest of the day! One thing that amazes me is that when Iโ€™m out walking, Iโ€™m still the only person wearing a mask. I wonder if people are really that much into denial? Or is evolution at work here?

    Day 30 – Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช – NFD

My first proper FD of April and I end April as I started so that has to be a good sign. It’s been difficult to get into the WOL with all the outside influences….not least the daily lunch delivery in work which we really look forward to, but means I am eating more at lunch than I would normally on an FD.

I know I could cancel the lunch order for me…..but I don’t want to!! However, I will steer clear of the salad bowls in future as they have carbs and I will stick to the delicious wraps.

And I realise now it’s ME that has to be firm on the Dry till Friday rule….if DH wants to have a beer after work or a glass of wine with dinner…there is no rule that says I have to join him ๐Ÿ˜€

We await word if restrictions will be eased after this May Bank Holiday weekend but all the rumblings are that its still too early.

I can see complacency setting in. One of my stepdaughters wanted to “pop” by to us tomorrow although we live an hour away, it’s not a necessary journey, there will be Garda checkpoints, and she in a UK registered car will stand out……..plus DH has high BP so is a risk group….DH was fine but I had to go all evil Stepmother and say no. That was stressful for me. I don’t like having to be this way but I have to as DH won’t.

Anybody else struggling with the restrictions and others wanting to get a way around them!

Have a great end of Month b

    Day 30 Melb Aust CD

Tried to finish with a FD, but no, just not interested. Will weigh tomorrow, expect to be less than at the beginning of April, but not by a lot. Will have to be much more diligent in May. See you all there!

Day 30 – Lake district UK – FD

    Good morning everyone

First off thanks to suki2 for steering us along this month, it’s been a very odd one that’s for sure! My weekly weigh in day is tomorrow, but this month sees me with a 3 lb loss so far, which all fell off in one week, a strict FD today might help for tomorrow.

@daffodil2010 – I’m with you to be honest (as much as we’d like to get away and see ‘the kids’) managing with my walks and the garden, the car has only done 30 miles since restrictions started! The supermarket where we went to on the one occasion is over 20 miles for a round trip, another trip to pharmacy for meds and thats been it. We have had drinks and a catch-up with neighbours, us in our garden and they in theirs, own tables, own drinks and nibbles … a 3 ft high wall and 3 or 4 metres apart!

Ending the month quietly positive as our family are all well, which is very much the main thing. I wish I could say the same for some of our friends, a couple of which have lost the battle with C19.
One of the many reasons I like the monthly challenge group is every month feels like a fresh start. The group is very supportive and each month we can look back over the month and turn a page and move to the next monthly challenge afresh, well it works for me!

Thank you my friends, see you all on the next challenge.

    Take care all,

@suki2 thank you for hosting what has been a strange and difficult month for many of us ๐Ÿ’

    Day 30 โ€“ South Africa ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ โ€“ NFD

A kilo down for April! I’ll take it, after this crazy, rollercoaster month. BMI is 22.5. I would still like to have shifted another kilo; maybe next month.

From tomorrow our restrictions are being eased, in theory. For me nothing will change. An estimated 1.5 million people will return to work. But alcohol & tobacco sales are still prohibited, along with unnecessary travel or between provinces. Exercise outside the home is permitted, but only between 6am – 9am?! The most strenuous activity for me at that time, assuming I’m awake, is to put the kettle on. And a curfew is being introduced for everyone not working, from 8pm – 5am. We’re permitted to buy ‘winter clothes’, but not to try anything on. You can buy takeaway food, but it must be delivered, no pick-ups. Wow? These politicians are power-crazy ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ There’s a lot of uncertainty, eg for people who were scheduled to move house. Some schools are opening, depending on the province. Roll on Level 3! I shouldn’t complain; there are so many people here who literally don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

@suki2 – thank you for hosting April! Until next month…๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ

    Day 30 FD London UK

Just adding myself to the pocket list. Lockdown has been a really good way for me to establish fast days, which have been all too easy to skip in the busyness of life before C19. DH has now got the established pattern and is happy to sort his own meals out on Mondays and Thursdays. Iโ€™m hoping I can keep it up when things are more normal.
@daffodil2010, I have a couple of friends who wanted to meet up right from the beginning, and one in particular mentions it every time we speak. I now say Iโ€™ve got a cough,( which is true, but itโ€™s a cold) so better not meet. My step sister, who lives nearby, is also pretty cavalier and has berated me for being too cautious. I must admit, a red mist fell when that happened, but itโ€™s not worth having that conversation. Thereโ€™s enough opportunity for conflict with step siblings without adding to it.

Day 30, London, UK, NFD (CD)

Aiming to be controlled today in order to start May on a roll!!

Tomorrow’s weigh in should be ……………… interesting!! I’ve been down 4lbs at one point, no doubt tomorrow the evil scales will show a 4lb gain, just for a laugh!!! If it does, it will be ALL muscle since I’ve never exercised as much as I have this month in my ENTIRE life!!!!

@funshipfreddie, watch you don’t throw your back out lifting that kettle!!๐Ÿ˜€

I’ll post my April results tomorrow, then it’s onward & downwards to the May challenge!!!

    Day 30 UK NFD

Thanks for guiding us this month @suki2

Iโ€™m finishing where I started which is annoying as I had a good start was 3lb down then got a little cavalier and put it back ( and more) but I move into May determined See you all next month ๐Ÿ‘‹

    Day 30 – UK – FD

Early Broga class at 0700 with OH via Zoom – great wake me up! Went out early to do the weekly shop for myself and an elderly lady who is self isolating for medical reasons – stopped for a chat (well over social distancing recommendations) with her when I delivered her shopping – she is so missing company!

Home and shopping put away and relaxing for a bit before I go to help with the hot meal lunch service at my local parish centre. We worked out that 2 of us in the kitchen portioning the food keeps us social distancing apart and we put the containers through a hatch which goes to another room where they are bagged ready for collection by another voluteer – so safe for us all. One of our local schools is cooking food and delivering it there 5 days a week for us to portion out and deliver to those in the community who need it most – what a great community!

Big change in the weather over the past couple of days, colder and some rain but mustn’t complain – we did have nearly 6 weeks of dry and sunny weather.

@daffodil2010 – great job in completing a proper FD for the month – it’s a great way to end!
@funshipfreddie – a kg dispatched ๐Ÿ‘ No alcohol ๐Ÿ˜ฑ you had it tough……..we can buy it from the supermarkets or get it delivered here
@suki2 – thank you for hosting this difficult challenge month of April ๐Ÿ’

    Day 30 – Ireland – CD
Hello all, controlled day for me today and will weigh tomorrow morning and move into May ๐Ÿ‘. I have been very good MOST of this month but itโ€™s not reflecting greatly on the weight…. will measure tomorrow too.
Thank you Suki2 for looking after us this month ๐Ÿ‘ I hope that it meant a good month for you ๐Ÿ‘
Iโ€™m with you all in resisting other peopleโ€™s suggestions to call around etc… my family are being so careful around me and generous with their time but some friends seem to have no idea just what cocooning/ self isolating really means.. I can associate with the feeling of red mist descending ๐Ÿ˜ก and honestly I feel itโ€™s more about them wanting company than them providing a distraction for me… (maybe Iโ€™m just cynical but how hard is it to play by the rules????)

    USA Day 30 FD

Trying again for a FD. Just quickly checking in!

Day 30 Oxfordshire, UK – FD
Here we are at the end of the month. Not sure where April has gone. Despite being on lockdown I feel Iโ€™ve been as busy as ever, perhaps in different ways.
Itโ€™s good to hear how people are adjusting to this new way of life. Eating at different times, different exercise patterns.
DH & I have notice a lot more family groups and couples out walking past our front door. I do hope this is one of the habits people take with them beyond lockdown.
Late check in today as I felt quite lethargic this morning. However, after a refreshing dog walk I feel much more on top of things. Fasting going ok so Iโ€™ll have my final weigh in tomorrow.
@erikka67 โ€“ glad you are losing. Youโ€™ll probably find youโ€™ll have a shape shift at some point too. Happy birthday to the twins.
@ihatelettuce โ€“ I agree each month is like a fresh start. Like you I remain thankful for my and my family and friendโ€™s health.
@funshipfreddie โ€“ your easing of restrictions sounds a little confusing. I very rarely see outside the house before 10am so Iโ€™d be stuck indoors still.
@emmataylor โ€“ its very hard when folk donโ€™t want to abide by the restrictions. But as always you must do what is right for you and your family.
@jaifaim โ€“ Iโ€™ve enjoyed hosting. Iโ€™m not sure yet what the scales will say and I think I let things slip mid-month. But I didnโ€™t give up which is the main thing. Tomorrow will tell.
    joining the pocket list today.

    Day 30 UK FD

Finishing the month with my regular Thurs FD, a 3rd FD this week. Yesterday was a solid CD tho much later night than I’m used to right now. Must find a way to wind down on Wednesdays after online zoom groups.

This morning I was up a couple of lbs but not worrying too much. Feeling my mojo bubbling up after jumping off the waggon in early April and putting on 10lbs! Back tomorrow to post month end results. Hoping I’ll be roughly back to where I started April & ready to spring into May

I had virtual tea with a friend who brought a Whole Cake! I speedily fetched my stewed rhubarb and apple with a blob of ff Greek yogurt so I could munch along with her. Having had my pudding I’m now off to assemble the main course – a week into my fortnightly box and still lots of lovely veg to choose from

@suki2 thank you v much for hosting us this month ๐Ÿ™‚

@suki2 – Thank you for being such a wonderful host this month! On to MAY!

Hi Everyone, It is Friday the first of May here in Australia. It’s a very wet day 9degC so no walk this morning. I joined 5:2 in 2018 and was happy to achieve my goal(any movement in my weight was going to make me happy but achieved a lot of movement)however I have slowly been increasing my carbs intake and with the arrival of covid 19 have got into the chocolate, biscuits etc etc in a big way. I am less fit , have put the weight back on, putting pressure onto my osteo arthritic joints and need inspiration and encouragement! So here I am, wanting to join the May challenge. I don’t get all the abbreviations or know quite how to enter in on this??? I’ll work it out as I go. Cheers
    Happy May!

    Final post

So Itโ€™s been a mixed month food wise with Easter pushing me back up 4 lbs but since then Iโ€™ve been really diligent and my increased exercise has been consistent throughout the month, so a little bummed that I have only lost 1lb since the beginning of April.
    Ah itโ€™s still a loss…. Iโ€™ll take it ๐Ÿ˜Š
On to May…where I hope I see delayed results maybe?
@suki2 โ€“ Thanks for being a great host this month!

@aussiejill, you’ll need to move now onto the May challenge. This one has now finished. See you over there!

    Final post.
Weight same as a month ago so still maintaining ๐Ÿ˜Š. See you all over in May.

    Day 30+1 – UK – NFD

So happy to say that I remain in maintenance land despite many ups and downs over the past few months and ended the challenge at 55.8kg ๐Ÿ’ƒ Great way to start the May one ๐Ÿ˜‡

@suki2 – Thanks for being a great host ๐Ÿ’ See you all in May!

Final weigh in for April 500g lost which is ok since I did stray middle of the month.
Its been a good time for me to be host as I have had something to focus on other than the news. Thanks for being there, see you in May

    Final Post,

Thank you for hosting us this month @suki2, you’ve been fab during a trying & stressful time for us all!!

    Final post

Weighing in at +1lb – considering I was +10lb at one point I’ll take it like a shot! Heading in the right direction ๐Ÿ™‚
