5:2 Newbie

    My friend suggested the 5:2 diet and after reading about it this seems like something I can really stick to. I’m getting married in late June and feel this diet will help kick start me into living a healthier lifestyle. Plus I need to lose some pounds before the big day!

    Looking for some great recipes for “ON” days and looking for support from others on this diet.

    Welcome and congrats on your engagement! I have never done the 5:2 but am.a big believer in the Fast 5 and am also a newbie to this forum. 🙂

    Hi there, I also started this week.
    Jumped on the scales over Xmas, watching my weight rapidly creep up.
    Would love to lose 10kg!
    Started at 85.3kg, now just after 2nd fast day at 81.5kg.
    Very encouraging for first week, even if it is just water weight and the weekend is coming up…..will expect to go backwards by Monday!
    I don’t mind the fast days, so long as I have a good sized breakky and dinner.
    1 weekbix and cuppa tea for brekky, snack on carrot, pineapple and celery, followed by steam fresh fish and veges or chicken breast slices with salad.
    Anyway it’s early days, it will be more difficult when I am back at work.
    Also, going on holidays to Thailand at end of next week – eating paradise!!!

    Just wanted to see how everyone is doing.

    Almost a week in and I’ve lost 4 lbs! I know it’s water weight but seeing the numbers on the scale go down helps as motivation. I’m also sticking to a low calorie diet on my “off” days.

    How’s everyone else doing?
