@okeydokey so good, you wrote this, I never could have. Your 5th FD tomorrow? You’re doing so well!

@fatrabbit Down 4 sizes, well done, that’s really great!

Back to page 14 to read all about your 5:2 adventures.

Amazing what you learn – I actually didn’t know there was such an exercise as feldenkrais!

    Day 23 Hampshire FD

Day 23: Gloucestershire, UK: NFD, as ever these days!

    Day 23 oman NFD
It’s been a funny month. My 3rd doing 5:2. Apologies because i haven’t been posting every day nor have i been able to keep up with all your posts.

I’m losing weight but it’s very slow..about 5kg since Jan 1st and most of that was at the start. I’m very interested in doing 800 cals..maybe on 3 days. But I’ll stick to the original 5:2 for now but maybe I’ll try something different in April/ May.

Good luck to everyone wherever you are.

@snowflake56 thank you for asking. Dad got good news the second piece contained no cancer cells. Now they will just keep a close eye on him.

Day 23 FD St Louis USA
tried and tried but was able to cut and paste with other pocket people today. So sorry. Wishing us all a successful fast or maintenance day.

@sirisan I’ll be glad to add you to the Pocketeers 😊 Thanks for trying. 🤔 Just wondering what kind of computer or phone are you using? Just because I can walk you through it. 😊

    Day 24 NZ FD
Haven’t posted for a couple of days just been so busy. Time slips away. I’ll join the pocketeers today please.

@okeydokey I am using an iPhone 6 Plus. I am able to copy a whole section and then have to backspace and delete things out but not just cut-and-paste a section. I had one where I was able to get everything highlighted except for one person on the bottom of the list. When I went back to try to do it again, It wouldn’t copy more than one name.

    3/23 FD USA, WI

Back-to-back fast days going on here – fasted for 38 hours on liquid only before breaking it today at lunch. I thought I might feel sluggish after eating but woah, it’s like a got a shot of energy. If I could have held off eating, I would have, but I also worked out this morning (3 miles on the elliptical), and by noon, I was definitely hungry. Also my first time working out after a long fast like that, and it didn’t feel any different than any other workout. Lunch was sauteed cabbage and onion, some chicken, and some of a bean salad that I made (black beans, tomato, red onion, avocado, mango, cilantro, lime juice, cumin). Sticking to the 500 for a fast day, I’ve got about 200 left for something later. If I even need it – feeling physically good.

Along with the London attack, yesterday a home inspector was shot in the head while sitting in his car in my city. Turns out it was my good friend from high school, her father-in-law. A bit of a heavy heart today.

Weighed myself – 188.8 lbs. Beat my goal for March and I still have 8 days left. Felt very good to enter a number on the elliptical that was in the 180s and not the 190s.

@fatrabbit – congrats on fitting in those pants! YAY!

@pashaw – I hope your OH recovers from his fall, and that your new supplements help you out with the hyperthyroidism. I can’t imagine how stressed you are, but try to remember to not be hard on yourself and take a little time for YOU, even if it’s just lighting a candle that you love, a bubble bath, indulging in a magazine.

    Together we are stronger, indeed.

Wow. I am such a believer that exercise alone does not make me lose weight or inches. In straightening up the desk file area, I found my old weights and measures from when I was at Curves. I have lost nearly 6″ in my hips since the last measure done about 4 years ago! 7″ in my waist! Bust 3″ (and that’s okay…) 🙂 I continued to do Curves until they closed in July 2016 then moved over to a gym with better (harder) weight machines. Not to mention I have lost 33 pounds. I LOVE THIS WOL!!

Thoughts are with London today – puts all my problems into perspective.

So many inspirational people on this forum. I’m getting lots of support from reading all your posts. All week I’ve been trying to keep FDs around 1000 cals as I know I’ve got a big food weekend coming up.. Yesterday I was asked to talk at a team meeting re my new role. I went into the room and it was wall to wall cakes. There were a total of 5 people in the meeting and I counted over 20 muffins and donuts. I declined all offers and felt really good. However later in the afternoon I decided to sabotage all my good intentions and went hunting for cake! I rationalised it by saying no-one would see. Someone posted a few pages back about eating when no ones around makes you think it doesn’t count and that’s definitely my mindset sometimes. When I went to the kitchen there were just a couple of Danishes left and I don’t like those. I was so relieved the choice had been taken away. I’ve been doing 5:2 for 6 months now, losing weight steadily and thought I was pretty cool with things..just goes to show the cravings may never go away.

Today has been a FD, they definitely get easier as time goes on.

Not a great fast today but keeping going.

    2nd post

I can’t believe how well this BSD is going. I didn’t eat anything until 3pm as I was working, but drank lots of black coffee and cinnamon tea. Then I had a bowl of yesterday’s curry and a small piece of fresh coconut that my sister gave me. It was so light tonight that I didn’t even start putting the animals away until 6 so it was 7 before I finished but I was hardly hungry at all and couldn’t face the big salad I had planned so I just had some spinach and beetroot with a bit of ricotta, so certainly under 800. And I had a job finishing that! It is amazing to me that after four days of this I feel it would be easy to continue. I may aim to carry it on until the end of the month. I would really like to get under 200lbs.

So I will be joining the other fasters tomorrow:

@fatrabbit: feeling the same about our 800 cal experiment. 😊😊😊

    Day 24/FD800/ Melbourne Australia

Virtual hugs to all in our global family. Special hugs to the amazing, inspirational members dealing with personal and family health issues. You are amazing and strong. Thank you for sharing.

Day 5 and the final day of my 800 calorie experiment. Will report tomorrow.

    My 5:2 journey
September 2014 – 74.3kg (starting weight BMI over 29 – goal to reboot health.)
    April 2015 – 59kg (goal)
July 2015 – 54.5 ( lowest weight, not quite sustainable)
    March 2016 – 56kg (happy weight)
    January 2017 – 58.7kg (whoops)
    Feb 2017 – 57.2kg (reboot – onwards and downwards)
    March 2017 – 56.6 kg
    Today’s weight 55.6 kg

Stay strong everyone. Keep your eyes on your goal whether it be improving your health or losing those kgs. Intermittent fasting combined with mindful, healthy eating on NFDs works and is sustainable.

Day 23 – SW WA USA – NFD

Keeping on with 16:8 at conference. Having some connectivity issues.

All the best to folks with personal challenges or broader ones. I’m amazed how you continue on.

    Together we are stronger!

Yay @fatrabbit on being down 4 sizes!! That’s amazing!! (If it were me, I’d buy myself some shoes to go with your “trousers”. Sorry, I’m American so we say “pants” but that means something different, I think? Congrats on fitting into whatever they’re called!!!! On an unrelated note, I read some of your posts and I read a book by a woman and In it she talks about god and women and food and her struggles with food and weight loss. If this sounds like something you’d read, lemme know. If not, my apologies.

Winding down a fast day and my mind feels so sharp and focused. Like when I used to take my ADD medicine. Which is why I’m giving everyone my unsolicited advice, lol!!!! Maybe I should go clean or something.

2nd post. Just had a coffee and a cup of tea so far today. Weighed myself and the scales are still at 80.5kg. On the positive side I have lost 2.5kg this month. I’ve just put a loaf of bread in the oven I will all of my willpower not too eat a crusty bit when it comes out. Working this weekend . Hope you all have a peaceful and happy weekend. My son works in Westminster right where the attack happened. My heart goes out to all who have suffered. God bless.

Hey all, it’s me again. Yesterday’s fast went OK – though I only managed about a 20-h liquid fast.
Will be joining the pocketeers tomorrow for another one:
    @snowflake56
    @okeydokey

    3rd post
@sirisan I would’ve gotten back to you sooner but I had to go to the Social Security office to request SS cards for our twin 16 year olds… a long and drawn out process.

I have the iPhone 6S Plus also, so I think it will be the same and pretty straight forward.
Some of this you already know. I’ll just go through the whole process to make sure there’s no miscommunication 😊

When copying from I phone 6 Plus:
✨Hold finger on screen firm enough for the bubble to pop up.
    ✨Then click select
✨With your finger Move the lower gold ball down passed the last person’s name for the Pocketeers ✨
✨Again move the upper gold ball up to the line above the first Pocketeers name. So you see a goldish highlight on all the names.
✨Then push the word copy with your finger.
✨Then start your new post. When you get to the location you would like to insert the names, with the gold curser blinking in the location. ✨Click paste.
✨Then add your name to the end of the list✨ and proceed as usual😊

    Day 24 – USA – FD
I’ll be fasting tomorrow Day – 24! If anybody wants to be added in our Pocket for support during your Fast day on the 24th.
✨ Just copy on the computer, hold down on iPhone screen until you see the option of select and copy. Copy our names below, then paste onto your new post. Then type your name at the end of the list. It could be different depending on what type of computer, phone or iPad you are using. If you have any questions just ask me, tell me what computer system you have. I will be glad to walk you through it.☀️

@lilymartin it’s good to see you back and strong! Have you ever checked back to remind yourself of your starting weight and how much you have lost over a few months? I find it very motivating, especially as Christmas ‘open-slather eating week’ was in there! Mine works out at the expected – about 1lb/week, even though it doesn’t actually happen like that. Good wishes coming to you from Melbourne!

@missymoomoo, @fatrabbit, @gopackgo and others doing well – Hooray! Booyah! Good On You!

    Day 23 & Day 24 : Cheshire, UK : NFD

@at – a big thank you and hug for hosting the March Challenge. It’s surprises me how a person’s energy comes through their posts. Thank you for being so kind and supportive to everyone. It’s strange how uplifting it is to see a comment someone has directed to me and you have mentioned my ‘name’ several times this month and it’s lovely.

I hope to be able to check in during my holiday. I will miss you guys if I don’t.

And I hope to see many of you in the April Challenge.

    Cheerio for now 🙂

    Day 24 – Tokyo, Japan – FD 81.2kg

    Day 23 – Perth AUS – FD
    Day 24 – Perth AUS – NFD

Hi all – I’m way too late for the March Challenge, but is anyone creating an April Challenge?

    Lee in NZ.

    2nd Post –

Well, it *was* a great fast day, lol. I fasted for the 38 hours, worked out, had a light, filling lunch, and an even lighter supper. Took a couple of mini peppers, sliced in half, used a 25-calorie pepperjack spreadable cheese wedge and spread it on them. 1/4 cup cottage cheese and some strawberries rounded it out.

Then I went to see my boyfriend who shoots pool on Thursdays. I walked in and he told me that he ordered me some crab rangoon – one of my favorite foods. I CANNOT resist hot, fresh crab rangoon, and I didn’t! YUM. Only drank water.

Technically, if the new guidelines are 800 calories, I didn’t go over for a fast day. I’m still counting it as one because I was only at around 400 cal before eating those, and I’m done for the day, until tomorrow afternoon.

There’s a thunderstorm here right now, I’m lighting some candles and enjoying the night. There was a time I’d pour a glass of wine right now, *just because* it fits the mood and not because it’s something that I truly want. No wine tonight – tea is in order.

    Hope everyone’s day went well!

    Day 23|Toronto|CD-NFD

Day 23, Oceanside CA, FD Weight 150.7

Weighed in with 1 pound loss and at my GOAL WEIGHT last two mornings. Thrilled to report a total of 8 pounds in the last 14 weeks since DH and I embarked on this journey. He is down 22 pounds. So my loss averages 1 pound every two weeks and his is just a bit more than 1.5 pounds every week.

Today we both took two walks and played 18 holes of golf in between. My step count today with Fitbit including the golf is 19,494 equating to 10.64 miles. For us the Fast 5:2 works with regular daily exercise.

We are eating 600-800 calories on our fast days and the combination is a winner. Nice week coming up with visit with our daughter and son-in-law and two little granddaughters. Our daughter is a Physician Assistant (PA) and she’s the person who recommended Fast 5:2 to us in November. All good in our family.

    Day 24 – Netherlands – NFD

    Day 24 Glasgow NFD

    Day 24 UK NFD 🌈

I had a lovely meal out with friends last night, we shared a starter, I had steak, potatoes and salad for main and coffee for afters. Loved and enjoyed it.

This morning still feeling full and heavy, I do not like this feeling, will just drink warm water and lemon all day, has my stomach finally shrunk? Definitely been having smaller meals lately. I think it was also the richness of the food, I had a steak sauce, butter on the potatoes and dressing on the salad. Those hidden extras.

I think with Fast days you realise u can get by on fewer calories, so on NFDs you start to realise you don’t need as much as u previously thought and eventually naturally cut down. This didn’t happen straight away for me, but with time.

Have a good day all xxx 🌸

    Day 24 / UK / FD

Thursdays are just not great for food. I managed to rein the coffee break treats in (would have had 3, but then some international students dished up a sticky rice with beef treat that I felt slightly obligated to try), but then free left-over food from a conference arrived. And that’s just the killer for a former grad student: free food. Wasn’t great overall but didn’t feel bloated so feeling okay about it. I’m sure I’m still yoyoing around 67 (I might not check today!). I am not reconsidering 5:2 (or rather 4:3), but would really like to see some movement again. Speaking of movement: vibe power and zumba coming up tonight, excited!

    @at Loving the Non-Scales Victories!

@onahealthyhigh Your numbers are so inspiring! I started a little lower but would ultimately like to make it to 55kg (it’s just a number though. If it looks emaciated I will take around 60 too) and have been hovering around 67 for a week now. But it can be done, thank you for reminding me!

Scales were kind this morning, now need to be good over the weekend.

    Day 24, Germany, FD

Good morning to everyone on this beautiful sunny day!

@gopackgo I know now it was thougtless to write about what happened, to us is kind of normal, I didn’t want to upset any of you. What was interesting for us was the connection between my saying: “I could have this as my last supper (the cod-fish-cheeks)” and then having the small stroke. It was a little bit macabre.I never was very interested in food, I always just ate because you have to. I never had a wide range of foods I eat, my DH almost likes anything but had to eat most of unknown things on his own. Since I’m reading the posts on this forum, I’m willing to try out new things to eat, like the cod-fish-cheeks.

Now to everyone who hasn’t tried the Konjac noodles. They don’t have any taste at all, they are I not slimy at all, had a good bite and are very filling. It’s a strange idea that something so filling just has so little calories. So for us they are a good alternative to pasta. It’s about the sauce, not the pasta for us.

Good fasting for our small group and hope all the ones having a NFD can resist all the temptations, they seem to be everywhere when you’re craving.

    Day 24 UK NFD

Weekly weigh in shows 2lbs off. Very happy!

March target 6lbs Total March loss 6lbs, overall loss 34lbs (started Sept 16) 13lbs left to go.

Feels good to have under a stone to lose. Generally losing more than a pound means I maintain the week after but I will be trying to sneak another pound off to exceed my March target.

Thank you for all for the daily support and accountability. It makes a big difference.

Good luck to anyone facing the scales or fasting. Stay strong guys. It is so worth it!

    2. post

@lynzm how is your “drawer of willpower” doing?
