G’day everyone. So much news to catch up on again. Neil, I’m so sorry to hear about your health problems, but glad you have good doctors who were able to diagnose the problem and that there are are medications that are helping. It must be hard to cut back on your busy workout schedule but walking that distance to work sounds like a good workout to me. I hope everything gets back to normal soon.
I’m back on the 5:2 fast again, actually for the past week I’ve lost 1 kg already and hope to see some more on the scales in the morning since today was a fast day. I’m going to do Mondays and Thursdays again, like Idid originally.
The pressure in my eye that was operated on went back to normal a couple weeks ago but I have to continue to use two different eyedrops twice per day for the foreseeable future.
Anzac, I’m sorry that the new job isn’t going as you hoped. Maybe something will come up up at the old place.
I have to get some sleep but just wanted to stop in and say hi to everyone, Cinque, LJ, thin, Quacka, Turnabout, G’day ,Lindsay and everyone else I’ve missed.
Good Morning everyone
Tuesday FD for me today after a long weekend. It was cold and windy and the weather made me feel quite miserable lol. I hate winter!
Thanks for the beautiful photos Neil. I look forward to visiting the South island next time we are in NZ. I was so stoked with the North island so I can only imagine how much I will love the South island. Glad to hear you getting out and about
Hi Cinque, glad you have your dressing gown and heater on! We usually get our fire going about 4pm but over the weekend we had it going much earlier in the day. I did manage to get out and sit in the sun on the front verandah while enjoying a cup of tea. It was out of the wind so was really quite warm. I wanted to go for a walk but was feeling pretty lazy and it was so windy too which makes me even less enthusiastic.
Thin, it’s so good that fasting works for you (and me) and I’m happy to hear you are back on 6:1. I went back to the gym on Friday and then again today. I hit the weights on Friday and then suffered all weekend because I haven’t lifted for months now and my muscles were protesting. I did weights again today so I’m guessing I will be suffering tomorrow also ha ha.
What is a towpath bbq?
Well I better go and start the day. Have a great one everyone.
Day 9 NE England NFD
Weight steady, can’t complain. No snacking is a revelation, never imagined it would be so easy.
No haircut pics here either, also hate photos of myself!
Busy few weeks ahead with the toddlers, keep me on my toes.

Day 8 – Nebraska, USA – NFD
It’s been a whirlwind few days having DD, DSIL, and three dear granddaughters here
Huh. Day 9 That was as far as I got yesterday, LOL. They arrived Thursday evening and leftt Saturday morning, so it was a short visit, but was sure fun!
The church council has asked us to step up the pace, so we spent six hours packing today, and plan to do the same tomorrow and are hopeful everything will be out then. We do have lots of stuff, @funshipfreddie, but the real issue is that we were only moving a little bit at a time–only as much as we could get put away that evening. Today we had help, and had my Venza filled to the brim, DH’s Nissan pickup filled to the brim, and an Expedition and a big pick-up filled to capacity, so there’ll be no putting it all away today. In fact, I’m so tired, I plan to do nothing tonight, so I’m rested enough tomorrow to do it all again.
The good news is that even with eating too much while family was here, I was still 153.0 this morning, so all this moving is burning off the calories.
Have a grand one, everyone!
Day 10 NZ NFD 69.2kg🔻
I went on two walks y’day – a Fast one up the 🌋cone then later a street dog walk with Paisley https://i.imgur.com/Ocutmb9.jpeg
I had beautiful fresh fish for dinner accompanied by roast cauliflower.
It is freezing here and so misty I can’t even see Eden Park 5mins away or Mount Wellington out the window.
This morning I’m helping take a friend’s Std Poodle to the physio after cruciate ligament surgery. There are definitely advantages having a pickable upable dog like a wee Westie under 10kg🤣. This Bonnie lass, Ms P is just under 15kg…
Hope everyone is having a fun in the sun!!
Just Do It!! ✅
It’s Denise’s good leg, but it’s an improvement, we don’t seem to be getting anywhere with the roof. It’s dragging on. Fed up with it all now. The nurse asked Denise what music she likes do she said 60s Motown, the nurse likes that as well so she played her Motown to relax her 😁 very good of her.
H H
Have a lovely time away ,, tell hubby to get his skates on and get out early in the morning. lol. xx
Evening!
Jean- sounds like you’re having a nice time & a good temperature for you if not the others! I hope Katie doesn’t get frazzled organising everyone?!
Dave- good Denise’s legs is improving, was that the worst one? Did she get everything sorted at her bank? They all seem to be incompetent with getting Mum’s LPA sorted!
Hemmy- how about a jacket potato with prawns or cheese & beans? Or poach some salmon & have it cold with salad & some crusty bread? The new potatoes should be good now, before keto I used to make a salmon, potato & watercress salad, would you like that?
AS- was your smoked mackerel good? I do enjoy that with salad or made into a pate with cream cheese & lemon…
I am fasting today but it’s hard going as we’re away for a few days tomorrow! Did some shopping & dropped Tiffin off for son, have done some packing & saw Mum … Planned to drop Xena off with the dog sitter early tomorrow, then if we can whizz off we can hopefully get across to the island before high tide, if not we’ll have to wait a couple of hours…hubby is not very good at getting out early though!!
Hemmy I had poached eggs bacon, sausage and baked beans.😋😋😋😋😋. Very busy this week bowling every day. Yet again I got their best player.I was fed up of getting them and losing so for a change I won 21-12.Bowling every day this week so will get plenty of steps in. I don’t really pay much attention to steps but if I’ve done a lot I may mention it. Going to do the shopping tonight for a change.Denises left leg is almost dry so improving. She uses her walking stick all the time now so I’ve got to keep in her good books or she will clonk me with it.
AfternoonAll…
A lovely day, we seem to have a lot of cloud although keeps the hot temperature at bay.. suiting me but not the others. Getting a lovely colour steady as we go…
The boys have been deep sea fishing for the afternoon, 4 hours.. back at 6pm..
Dave..
Hoping the legs improving… we have cloud but no rain..
Hemmy..
Yes it’s lovely being with everyone, it’s getting them altogether is the problem…once organised all ok… we leave and then they follow..
Showers shortly…

Good afternoon everyone.. happy Monday. Xxxx
Its a dry brighter day. and no rain.. .Left home at 11am walking with Pip .. came back and mowed lawns.. never sat to lunch till 3pm..
A Sky.. Is there still lots of cake left lol… .lovely you have your very own family baker.
Dave.. Is it a busy sporting week for you
H H .. Oh your poor BIL.. its so very hard when these dogs have their balls etc.. they are so very quick and and easily bite not meaning to hurt the owner. I hope it soon heals.
Sym.. It sounds all go with the young people I bet you are loving it. lol So much better than being with oldies
.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon everyone. What’s on your menu .. I need inspiration lol.
You didn’t gain all your weight in one day; you won’t lose it in one day. Be patient with yourself. Xxxx
USA. Day 9 FD
This morning, I found I was up two pounds. I know it’s my fault. I succumbed to ice cream!! The plan was to measure the amount but that never really works for me with ice cream. I hate to have to relegate ice cream to the “no buy” list. That’s where I put all the foods that I lose control over! 🤨
Anyway, another day and back on the pocket list.

Day 9 – USA/GA – NFD – 237 lbs.
@funshipfreddie It was in my mom’s freezer. She also insisted on my FD I take some homemade spaghetti and meatballs and a couple slices of pizza my brother had bought. I ate literally one bite of spaghetti and half a meatball as it smelled so good, probably upping my FD500 to FD800, and those carbs causing havoc so late at night. I did not eat anything else, but graciously “saved it for later.” I’ll return a good portion of both to her refrigerator in a few days. I think it’s more about her not having space, with feeding her grandkids.
I have three lunch meetings at work this week, so I’ve got to calorie restrict on these NFDs. I never eat the huge slab of cake, for example, provided in the board meeting lunch that is coming up on Tuesday. I might avoid the potato chips this time, too. I remember they had those healthy salads a couple of times… it would be great if they catered those again 🙂
Anyway, some good news is that I hit 237 this morning. In the past two months, I have hit 236 twice and 237 four times. My goal for the month is 235, which I last hit in March. But I believe I can get to 234.
Sounds like you’re have a great time Jean. Just dropped Denise off at clinic will pick her up shortly then off to her bank . Took Chloe out in between. The sun is trying to come out so hopefully the rain will stay away.
Morning All..
Looks like cloudy mornings are the normal.. although the sun gets up a bit later here…about 6am is dawn breaking…9pm dark.
Everyone sleeping and the boys plans have changed.. no golf… I think wine, beer and late nights are taking there toll… Johnny doesn’t really drink his friend does more.
I think I had three small wines so not over the top, and whiskey coffee yesterday …none in the day.
Sorry I can’t keep up with posts too many to comment on but I am reading them all…

Evening!
AS- the cake sounds lovely, you’ve done well just to have a tiny bit! Nice your daughter does the baking. Good hubby’s in the same ‘trade’, you can support each other…shame he’s had to work though…
Jean- the meal sounded good, glad you’re having a lovely time!
Dave- doesn’t sound like you’ll have much time for decorating next week! Nice to have the kitchen sorted…
Hemmy- very nice presents but not good if you’re avoiding too much sugar! No roasts here in the summer on a Sunday, doesn’t seem right if it’s warm! Tonight we had smoked basa in a creamy lemon sauce with lots of veggies, made some for Mum as well…
Took Xena to a heath this morning, but had to keep her on a lead most of the walk, the wildlife trust have goats grazing, I didn’t know so will avoid there for a while. After Church I made the Crunchie Tiffin for son to take to his on-call station to celebrate finishing his course. Did his washing & ironing so I can drop it off before we go away on Tuesday.
Poor BIL had to go to A&E yesterday, their dog Paddy bit him, John tried to get something off him, naughty boy! He’s a bit like Xena & guards things, he’ll drop it for a treat but John forgot to do that…
The Monday and Wednesday team the 2 biggest losers are dropped for the next match, so I lose away from home so that means I don’t play on my home green then the next time I play will be away again. I lost last week against a good player butt did her 16points so I will be playing at home for a change. Our 2nd best player lost so her will be dropped, it’s so we all get a game. It’s fair because of we were ranked I would need number 9 on Monday and 10 on Wednesday so would never play. I have a better record on Thursday and Friday.
Brads27 – I did have a little sneaky bit. Not a whole slice just a corner.😉
Still under calories, so will probably have some of the mixed veggies with mackerel. We haven’t had mackerel in a while, so we decided the smoked peppered mackerel. Sometimes, it can be a little too rich for me.
You have played some really skilful players lately, so hopefully this week you will have a more favourable opponent. Fingers crossed that you come out on top tomorrow. 🤞

Day 8 – USA/GA – FD – 239 lbs.
Don’t forget the importance of exercise! Something that gets you taking in oxygen more than usual. I’m not talking the negligible amount lost through “calorie burning” sold in the media; I’m talking about the scientific research that fat converts to water and carbon dioxide. To increase CO2 output, you have to increase the body’s need to use O2. This morning, for example, I was at 240.0 lbs. I got dressed and went out to pick up small limbs and sticks from last night storm (aside: the people in the north of the county and in the counties south of us suffered 80 mph winds that knocked down trees, damaged property, and killed one person driving in their car when a tree fell on them). It took about 30 – 45 minutes, a lot of walking up and down hills, dragging armloads back and forth, etc. When I came back in to rest, I weighed myself and was already down half a pound. So, it’s a good reminder that exercise plays a role in weight loss, just very different from the marketed perception.
Yes, I am making a difference, not hoping 🙂 I did “mess up” a bit yesterday with less defined meals and more snacking, but I forbade myself from falling down the pit of surrender. For example, I allowed myself a mini ice cream bar after a meal, but did not give in to the urge later in the day to grab a box of crackers or a bag of potato chips. I am sticking to the picky, occasional eater profile for the long haul. It would be great to see no more 240s by the time July gets here. Then I’ll start working on getting into the 220s.

AS it’s only one day have a good time today and start again tomorrow. As for the bowling we have the fixtures for all season in each league. The captain of both teams write a number against our names from 1-8 then they just pick each others so it the luck of the draw Evo you play, I’ve not been very lucky so far, I can guarantee I will play a very good player on Friday they win the league every year and Thier green is so difficult to play on. Think the best score I have got is about 6. One corner of you bowl travels a little too fast it goes off and you bowl it up hill so you have to get over the hill or it rolls back😱.
Hemmy – It’s calling my name, but I’m resisting – just. 😅
Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx
It s a much better day today after all the rain of late. ..So pleased no extra garden duty today. lol

Hello everyone!
He seems to be having a very good birthday so far. We usually sing happy birthday in the morning and have cake for breakfast. Not today. Today we all ate breakfast and then had a slither each. So, it worked out better for us all. Still lots of cake left.
Hedgehogs – My wonderful daughter has been making all our birthday cakes for years. Today she made a light two layered strawberry and cream sponge cake. 10/10 every time. 🍰🍰🍰 Hubby has work to do (he’s a teacher), so he is planning his lessons. We are planning to watch ‘Sinners’ later in the evening. A nice horror to snuggle up to.
Jean – It seems that you are having a wonderful time! What have you got planned today?
Brads27 – Do you get a list of who you will be playing before the game? Or do you only know who you are playing when you arrive? Who decides who you are playing against?
Day 8 NE England IF 17:7
I was tempted to eat breakfast today but went out walking instead and survived until lunchtime! Weather quite showery here too but we managed to stay dry… just!

I fancied some porridge so nipped up to Sainsbury’s but gone off the idea now 🤪 I will have it tomorrow. Yes the boxes are needed for the living room items. Just cleaned the pasting table read for use in the living room. It’s quiet heavy. Not a wooden one that’s rickety. This one is rock solid. Just used the new kettle and tea caddy 😁. Bowling every day this week all league games.Monday got to go to Denise’s bank after I’ve taken her to her her legs bandaged.Tuesday drop her off at Spanish lessons, do will have to go shopping Tuesday evening.

A very busy day helping run the cafe – what a great group of volunteers 🤗
Must have done around 50 bacon rolls – served a lot of tea/coffee and multiple bowls of soup and nearly sold out of cakes …..must have been the rainy weather that brought folks in so🤞we raised a good sum of money for the running of the parish centre
Tired out when I got home – had a lovely hot shower to wash the smell of bacon off me and enjoyed a big glass of wine with an easy dinner and then slept like a log……
@funshipfreddie – not superwoman at all…….just seem to lose my appetite when I’m cooking a lot of food……
Wanted to do a quick log in here before heading out with a friend for a gentle flattish walk to stretch the legs but the weather is not enticing wet with dark clouds but the weather forecast is for an improvement on the rain front at least

Good morning from a fasty Thrupp, near Oxford. The sun is shining after a day of downpours but we couldn’t recall the last time it had rained. Yes thanks LJ, we did have some good, sunny spring weather, even a few towpath BBQs.
Anzac, that all sounds so stressful for you with work. I hope you get the job back with your old company.
Quacka, I enjoyed reading about all the marine life you met on your holiday. What a horrid ending to your trip.
Cinque, I hope you get many more good nights’ sleeps. I seem to go in spurts.
Neil, thanks for sharing your photos.
Chicken Korma for dinner, a tiny portion. I’m back on 6:1 and managing to stay below my trigger weight. I’m grateful that it works so well for me that I need look no further but hats off to those of you that are constantly aiming to improve.
Morning All..
Woke up to a lovely cuckoo singing.
Weather is very hot, very nice atmosphere around our area. It’s very busy but feels nice and friendly.
We had a wonderful day yesterday, it was cloudy so took the edge off the heat.
Katie had booked a flamenco show singing and dancing trio, they were fantastic suberb meal and a few bottles of recommended wine 🍷
I had baby pork ribs delicious and cleared my plate, unusual for me.. no room for pudding!
Taxi to new beach at 8 ish …others to follow we have a group chat and 360 which tell you where everyone is. The boys I think will golf again.
Hemmy ..
Great news on your knees much better.. and you can hand over the garden back..
Dave..
Start filling the boxes! Is it lounge things ?
AutumnSky..
Enjoy hubby’s birthday..it’s just one day..

No sightseeing..
Lazy and walking…we did about 2 hours walking yesterday to beach and out on the evening..
We missed our village festival it’s on while away.. yours sounded good.
Shall get up and sorted..

Sky enjoy you husband’s birthday it’s fine to have a day off, that’s the whole beauty of the fast diet. I’m fighting for space on the sofa, Chloe’s so long. I hope you’re enjoying your holidays Nana and Jean. HH your always so busy
Evening!
Hemmy- nice you had a fairly easy week with the watering, the grass is growing like mad, how long does your lawn take to do?
Jean- have a lovely day, hope everyone’s not too tired, will you be doing much sightseeing or lazing by the pool?
Dave- sending you a hug, it’s rotten for Denise & you at the moment 🤗 Hope you get the boxes sorted out…
Nana- hope the weather isn’t too bad, have a lovely time!
AS- hope hubby has a good birthday tomorrow, & enjoy the cake! Home made or shop bought, are you a baker? Will you have a meal out?
Keeping my fast up until dinner tonight, keto pizza … It’s been showery here, our village show today so that’s a shame. Youngest popped round & we had a wander together, resisted the ice creams, cakes etc, the cake stall had some amazing looking bakes! Youngest had been out with his cohort, was in bed at 1am was oncall & then had a fire at 4am, so he was quite tired! A house fire but luckily empty, they didn’t know that though so had to search….
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend xx
Hello everyone!
Hedgehogs – I tend to get up early to do my training and then get in a little work. It’s the best time. I only need to focus on myself. 😁
Jean – What a palaver on the way there!😄 Glad you arrived safely. Hopefully, I can get a stone down by end of September (fingers and toes crossed).
Brads27 – It must be hard on both of you. I know you will absolutely get back on track!
Hubby’s birthday tomorrow, so have to watch myself. I will ‘save’ my calories for a slice of cake – that will probably be the whole 1,300 calories then.😖
Day 7 – USA/GA – NFD – 238 lbs.
Down a bit from yesterday morning, and my average weight is similar to how it was before vacation. I know I have days ahead with meals as part of a function; I just have to remember to be a picky eater and balance out anything unusual with my other meals to be below TDEE. In fact, I’m going to look up my goal weight TDEE as a reminder of where my calories should be for maintenance when I eventually get there. I’m hoping to make a real difference this summer 🙂
Good afternoon the sun as finally come out after the rain. A busy weeks bowling ahead we have arranged match on Tuesday so will be bowling every day mon-fri. Just got my orders from Denise to sort out some boxes to make space so better get moving.
Good morning everyone. Xxxx
Its a dry start but rain forecast again today. gardens looking so green and lush and I will be happy to hand over garden duties back to my friends today. . I have been soo lucky with the rain.. it all looks wonderful for them. .
I am trying not to get to excited but so absolutely thrilled my knee pain has gone.. I had it for a good while I wont be swapping and changing any vitamins I take now.. as i usually do lol
Nana .. enjoy you time away this week.
A S .. Is it a relaxing.. reading weekend for you or have you some work to do.
Dave.. Oh you poor things.. this roof is being so very stressful for Denise and yourself. .. I hope you get some joy soon.
H H .. It must be depressing at times re your Home Start families.. thank goodness though for people like yourself.
I do think the lower weight you get its gets easier to keep the weight down.
Sym.. Glad you all arrived safely .. time to chill out and enjoy.
Have a lovely day everyone. .. “Saturday is a time to enjoy the small blessings of life. Xxxx
Good morning everyone, dry so far today. Enjoy your holiday Jean and you too Nana. Not been up long and I could hear music, when I walked into the kitchen my echo show was playing Gold radio😁 good job it wasn’t on very loud. I must get back on track, all this thing about the roof and then Denise not being well as led to comfort eating, do I must stop it. I’ll get weighed in a month, that should give me time to get back to normal.
Day 7 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
@iona72 – I had a haircut too yesterday. I can’t say I feel like a new man, but I can now take off my beanie in public without scaring people 😅
@at – wow – that was a busy day?! And you did all that baking & still managed a FD?! You’re super-human!🥇
Sometimes I really hate technology. I just spent half an hour trying to log into my chrome book, because it was asking for my Google password, & then said my password was wrong – which it wasn’t 🤯 Anyway, I’m aiming to be a weekend warrior, with a good CD today & a FD tomorrow 🏹 I’m finding the ‘no snacking’ much easier than I imagined. It really is just a habit, & the solution is to be just a little more mindful when those thoughts pop into your head. It’s seldom genuine hunger when we go peering into the cupboards or the fridge.
Have a great weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

Morning All..
Everyone still asleep… it all went to plan. Katie was one hour late, we were about 20 mins.
Everything seems ok in the apartment but not really looked properly yet.. they said two bathrooms but only one and a cloakroom.. so a bit tight.. not so much this week but the boys will come across next week. (They have their own apartment this week as a friend is with them)
Funny on the plane, I was sat in the middle seat.. lady on the window seat thought the guy was my son, the guy thought the lady belonged to me.. the staff was looking at me to help the lady as they thought I belonged to her. She was getting all mixed up, she was about 80 plus, credit cards declined, searching for others, I helped her off with the cardigan etc
Hedgehog..
You seem to do a lot with the Home Start families..it’s voluntary I think. It sounds very interesting.
Dave..
Hope the rain stops for you.. and the roof gets sorted..

No speedway tonight should have been last night but rained off. I won at bowls today, I I changed my bowls for heavier ones and that worked. Will stick with these and see how I get on. Been raining on and off today just back from last walk with Chloe and it just started as we got home. Denise is really depressed with all that’s going on with the roof and her health. Can’t say I’m much better, Wish they’re was a fast forward button so it’s all fixed.

Left home at 0830 to go help DD with her dog walking business (her DH has to use her car for work whilst his is waiting a repair job at the garage….
After a light lunch with her, I headed back home – luckily I remembered to pick up an order of bread rolls that we need for a cafe I’m helping to run at our Parish Centre tomorrow as a fund raiser – we sell a lot of bacon rolls to the local Park Runners and people who come to the Craft fair that is happening there tomorrow – then I baked a rhubarb and custard traybake, lemon and blueberry loaf, banana and chocolate loaf and a chocolate brownie…….also made a large batch of carrot and coriander soup for lunchtime sales tomorrow……another volunteer is doing another soup so we can offer a choice….
Tomorrow will be another early start to set up the cafe then I hope cooking lots of bacon/eggs for the rolls we anticipate selling – we open the cafe at 0930 for the park runners and keep it going until around 1700hrs when the craft fair closes too…..selling homemade cakes made by our wonderful volunteer ladies and also soup at lunch time
Just had a lovely hot shower and feeling a tad tired now and can’t face food after all that baking so that is a good thing as it will help me stick to my planned FD

Hope everyone is having a good start to our Just Do It! ✔ June Challenge
Evening!
AS- really well done with your weight loss, hope you can keep on track now…My son used to work in the nearest Subway, when he left there were alot of staff changes, I won’t eat there now! I looked at the time you posted & goodness, that was an early start!
Jean- have a brilliant holiday, hope everyone’s journey goes according to plan!
Nana- have a lovely time too, forecast is improving, give the Wee Retreat a wave from me, & the Beeston Bump!
Dave- that’s maddening with your roof, not like you got it done on the cheap 🤬
And poor Denise not being able to get her prescription, it’s not going right for you at the moment…is it speedway tonight?
Hemmy- hope you’ve had a good day…
Fasted today to make up for indulging yesterday, it’s certainly easier these days, today has been fine. Jobs done this morning & then another HomeStart course- it was about criminal exploitation, I think I’m pretty aware with eldest having been in the police but some of the stories were shocking …we do work more with younger children but some families have older ones too, one of my families has an older daughter who was cuckood, another family had a son involved in county lines, so we do need training. A bit depressing, sometimes I miss wine!!
On a more cheerful note, our village show is tomorrow, hope the weather is better!
Hi Iona,
Apologies. I have been ill with a virus before half term and then went to stay with my sister for a few days.
I am back to going to the gym twice a week and Pilates once. I hurt my back gardening and am on a mission to get a stronger back.
I am rather frustrated that I am having 2 meals a day and just something light in the evening, without shrinking. But hopefully I will see some changes to the body from the gym.
Another 4 weeks to the end of term for us. Quite a commitment for you Iona.
Hemmy..
Thank you Hemmy, Nail varnish is off my fingers.. mosquito spray takes it all off like paint stripper.. shall try again when home.
Charlie was whining when we got to the kennels so fussy nearly knocked me over getting out the car.. so all is good there.
Fly out at 5.15 so just waiting…
The others flight was delayed but they are on their way 2 hours ahead of me.
X
