Evening everyone!
It was a great day yesterday. Did not overeat, and did manage to have a few things here and there. Woke up this morning a little puffy, as the food was very salty and I did have a lot more starchy food than I usually do.
Brads27 – Good to know the Denise’s leg is getting better. Agree about the banks we had quite a few in our area but it’s all online banking now. I have so many pin numbers and logins, which ‘I’m a little fed up with, as I have to remember so many different ones, not to mention email addresses. I know what’s it’s like to over eat. Maybe prepare meals for a few days to get you back on track.🙂
Hemmy – I read about the fire and the loss of lives. Very sad situation.
Will done on abstaining from the wine and for reaching the point where it’s no longer a thought.
Jean – You must be so excited about going on holiday. It may be hot enough here by then for it to be as hot as abroad.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Grrrr, lost a post, that hasn’t happened for a long time. OH’s phone (and our signal) went dead just as I hit ‘submit’. Briefly then:
Turn, congratulations on the continuing weight loss and yes to the V-E Day celebrations as we’re in Braunston, a small village and mecca for narrowboats. Right up my alley. A community cafe run by elder volunteers surprised everyone on the day by not giving a bill to anyone who ordered food and drink! We missed that one sadly.
Passed a boater with a cocker spaniel and five x five week old puppies on board yesterday. He hopes to re-home them for £800 each.
Cinque, glad the sun is poking through the tree. Yes, we’re heading south at a snail’s pace towards Oxford. Very relaxing, there are fluffy moorhen chicks, goslings, cygnets and ducklings. I’ve seen a calf and a lamb moments after birth. And watched the cow eat its afterbirth which was a bit gross.
It doesn’t feel like Sunday but I know it is because I’m fasting, almost completed now.
Hi @funshipfreddie, thanks for the reply. That’s good to hear. It’s funny but I don’t miss food or get hungry after eating my bowl of oatmeal in the morning. I felt different emotionally when I started fasting after my fast day, hard to put into words but it was definitely a positive, not negative change. Now, not so much of a difference. Maybe one gets used to it, and the benefits are more subtle. I’m curious, do you find fasting has primarily physiological, or physical benefits or is there a mental and/or emotional component to it as well?
Yes must start cutting down. Door painted again but still different look right. It’s had a coat of Duplux protective paint and two coats of Ronseal so I don’t think it will rot any time soon. Will try a third coat of Ronseal and if that’s dosent work I’ll buy normal paint.
Afternoon All..
Cool day here…
I have been writing lots of birthday cards for the year and doing money envelopes then wrapping in Xmas paper… already for Katie to take home to Texas… still it’s a big lump of my Xmas presents!
Less than three weeks to holidays… hoping everyone gets there without delays. There will be 9 coming from Texas and me… 5 will depart back to Texas after the first week..
Dave..
Like you have been on an eating spree for a couple of days, I do think it makes you more hungry the more you eat. Snack today back fasting tomorrow.
Enjoy your pie tonight..

Day 18 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 240 lbs. Tomorrow will be a FD; today is a potluck meal with one branch of the family. @funshipfreddie I think Michael Mosley was constantly researching what was effective, and it’s exciting to find some forgotten article, interview, or piece of work that he wrote. I think it’s a testament to his legacy.
I’m up over last week, but I only had one FD. This week should be much closer to normal (after today) until vacation starts up on Saturday.
Day 18 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
@lilymartin – it was tricky today?! I got it in five, still too close for comfort 😅
@merryapple – 68.4?! 🎯 💪
@northgeorgia – thanks for sharing that article. I’m sure the splash of full cream milk in my tea/coffee on FDs helps me to get through the worst. It’s still hard to believe Michael Mosley is no longer with us though.
Happy S🌞nday!
Pocket List – Day 18 🥛
@funshipfreddie
Good morning everyone, the sun is out again. Will it be another 1976 summer? Definitely the best April I can remember. Going mad with food, got to reel it in. Think I need to plan my meals that will help. Taking my pressure washer too mate’s house so he can have a try with it. He’s got a karcher pressure washer but likes the idea of a portable one. He asked me to send him a link so I said I would bring it round so he could see it in action.Much cooler without hair, just shaved it all off, didn’t take long to do🤣. What are you all up to today? Homemade pie for tea Denise said she was not paying over £20 for a piece of beef.
@bartoninbklyn – there’s no problem there at all! Whatever gets you through your fast day. I personally like to eat only in the evenings on my fast days. If I eat earlier then I feel hungry for the rest of the day. I also find more protein-rich foods such as eggs are more satisfying. There are many different ways to fast, & you just need to find what works for you. Welcome to 5:2!
Day 18 country west Australia 83.9 kgs
Pride goeth before a fall! Just got this morning’s Wordle on the last attempt !!😰
@funshipfreddie, the you for your resolve – much needed! But It was a bit easier than I thought with yesterday’s FD. 🥵🥵well….
It was only an FD800 but with DH away and a beautiful sunny day spent in the garden I was not within cooee of the kitchen so easier than days when I am in the office doing office work and the siren song of the kitchen, fridge and pantry beguile me….
We have got into the habit of having a larger meal for lunch and a much smaller dinner consisting of a few nuts ( walnuts, almonds about 5-6 ), sauerkraut, hummus, 1/4 avocado, a small tomato , 2-3 piece of pineapple or strawberries in season, a very small ( and yes it really is small 😲😲) piece of cheese , 3 or 4 olives. Occasionally on cold nights we have a1/2 slice of toasted homemade wholemeal/rye/sourdough bread.
I feel much better going to bed on this smaller meal where everything is portioned in teaspoon/tablespoon amounts rather than a full plate.
Have a good Sunday. Off to church for me!!
Good morning everyone,
It is a chilly Melbourne morning but the sun is shining through the tree out the window.
Thinking of you relaxing in the sun Quacka! And woot for that last unexpected nearly fast day.
Good advice Thin, isn’t it easy to think of a holiday as a time to feast every day… not recommended as a general rule.
Have you started heading south yet?
Neil, wow, the scales were friendly and just!
I hope the tests find something useful. I wish there weren’t so many chronic difficult things that are not understood.
Turn, lovely to see your post and to have a good catch up read!
What a gorgeous place to be staying, and hello to the cocker spaniel too.
Hooray to be in the mood for sorting things out! I hope that feeling stays strong and makes it a super satisfying job.
Yay to be in the 70’s. It sounds like a good sustainable eating plan.
I’m having my morning coffee as I write, thinking of you! It is a nice world just here and now.
Ooh yum that lamb saag and cauliflower rice.
Sending good wishes to everyone
Day 18 NZ NFD 68.4kg🔻
Quick check in as I’m going out for an Arabian breakfast with Iraqi friends.
I was talking with a friend for hours on the phone last night and went past dinner time… Her father 93 has taken to his bed with jaundice but refuses hospital level treatment because that’s where people die… His GP is away, she’s here, father is in Hawkes Bay. She’s flying down today.
I’m having a boiled egg now to have some protein…
@northgeorgia Great to find a new approach to help you!! Milk products do stimulate acid production in your stomach, which you noticed when you drank it in the evening and lay horizontally.
Have a good day!!
Onward and downward!!
The front door still needs at least one more coat maybe two. The cup finale is not going well from my point of view but I suppose it would be nice for Palace to win their first ever trophy. My son as gone to Stoke this afternoon, just sent me a picture of a statue of Lemmy.Chilli for tea tonight late tea because of the cup final.
Hemmy..
It’s a lovely part of the season I bet your garden is lovely, I could imagine how it is with an old cottage.
My steak was so yummy, I had caramelised onions, new potatoes and salad.. unfortunately some more of my red wine which I opened yesterday..it’s a while since I had wine, thinking the holiday mode is starting to drop in.
It is so sad on the deaths, I wonder how it happened and started.
Enjoy your garlic prawn stir fry..
X
Day 17 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 239 lbs. I have rediscovered milk — I mean whole full-fat milk! Now, I know my body, and I know I absolutely can’t drink it in the evenings as I must have some sort of lactose intolerance within a few hours of bedtime, but never in the day (go figure). However, I have found that a tall glass of whole milk suppresses my appetite within 15 minutes. It really is incredible! I suspect having low-calorie, protein-rich meal with milk on NFDs will over time reduce my caloric intake to below TDEE. I’m going to experiment with this over the next month. https://www.getthegloss.com/health/the-5-2-diet/michael-mosley-why-full-fat-milk-is-better-for-weight-loss/
I do have a family reunion event tomorrow with a full potluck lineup, so my next FD will be Monday.
Good afternoon everyone.. I hope the sun is shining with you. Xxx
Its a lovely day again after yesterdays cloud. It was a good Temp though for the garden.
Its really beautiful out there at the moment soo much blossom this year. .. I have two massive ..orange blossoms and they are smelling wonderful.. just by my bench i sit to read..
Its so sad in the area as there has been a bad fire at the Heritage Centre in Bicester 2 Firefighters died. And one other .. Xx
Scales were good this week ..the pound I put on last weekend has gone..
4 months 1week.. today no wine. and not missing it one bit… how very strange .lol
Nana… Well done on your pound loss. Its been a busy week for you.
A S .. Well done on your 2lbs loss . That s brilliant ..Keep up the good work this next week.
Dave.. So pleased to hear Denise is feeling some improvement in her leg it would be lovely for you both to have the holiday.
H H .. Enjoy your BBQ today .. hopefully lovely sunshine for you. Well done to your son for passing his exam especially not feeling A 1 .
Sym.. Your meal of rib eye sounds wonderful. .Garlic prawns and stir fry for me.. same tomorrow .Easy food.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone.
Take time for the little things that bring you joy today. Xxxx
Morning All…
Across the fields walk back tracking a bit… harvest is nicely growing, the blackberry bushes are getting flowers on..house-martins have decided to come back, a couple of weeks late…a cloudy start but it’s improving now.
Dave..
Well done on getting the front door painted, it’s always good once you start. I am still thinking of doing my kitchen sealant, my painting clothes are in my bedroom now,
Glad Denise is improving a bit it’s a long job.
Hoping the roof gets sorted.
Hedgehog..
Glad your sons improved enough to get his assessment passed, hope he soon feels better.
Bluebells seem to be a bit late now..?
AutumnSky..
Well done on the 2lbs off…7 lbs is great gives you motivation.. I like the sound of your garden 😂
Enjoy your day out and celebrations (and food).
Nana..
Well done on you 1lb off..Auntie is doing very well it’s not nice on your own.
Hemmy..
What are you up to today? I bought myself some ribeye and new potatoes for tonight.
Have a good weekend whatever you are doing..

Day 17 UK NFD
I used to be extremely keen on doing wordle daily , I still enjoy but not as regularly but admire your 365+ @lilymartin
I’m not a yachty @merry🍎but Naples port area is massive , a bit daunting to see 5 massive cruise ships docked on the Saturday but a 5 min walk round to the smaller yacht area provided a fabulous backdrop for a very memorable lunch🦐 and the pizza is truly delicious
Slowly getting back to better habits – very impressed with weekend fasters I’ll be on the list Monday
Pocket list Day 17 🫒
Denise is still hobbling around but her left leg is showing signs of improvement. She as to have another test on her right leg in July, the week before our holidays. It’s a dull day here very cloudy and 10°C, Going to the bank for Denise, there are no banks near by anymore so got to drive to the nearest one. They’re used to be four or five banks within walking distance.Pubs are going the same way. Was lots of them now only about 5 close by.I was hungry last night so caved in and had toast so not a good day calorie wise.
Day 17 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
@lilymartin – Sending you RESOLVE for your Saturday FD! 💪 A +365 day Wordle streak?! I cannot compete; I think my highest is around 90 days. Although, I do currently have a 659 day Duolingo (Spanish) streak 😇 I take screenshots of my Wordle result too sometimes 😅 I haven’t tried Quordle, I don’t want to risk getting hooked on any more games! 🤯
@merryapple – I really am busy with the coasters! I was working on them til 9 last night. Which isn’t easy with a cat on your lap. I’m off to the Mosaic store just now for more supplies.
@stitchincarol – enjoy your family get-together & the restaurant. Those prices though?! 😲
Gotta run, have a great weekend everyone! 🌤 🌈
Pocket List -Day 17 🫒
@lilymartin
Morning all,
I have been up for a while trying to catch up on work before I’m out and about today.
I decided to jump on here early so as not to miss my daily catch up with everyone.😊
Will be out shopping and then a trip to a family friend for another birthday celebration (I never realised the extent of the ‘celebrations’ I have attended and ended up gorging myself on the food or picked here and there).
Brads27 – Absolutely, slow and steady wins the race. Thank you!
Congratulations for winning at bowls! I believe pressure washers are quite versatile. The gardener arriving next week said that’s what he will be using to get the weeds out of the cracks. How is Denise doing?
Nanafixit – Congratulations on losing a 1lb! Always nice to have something to look forward to like a holiday. Are you taking any books with you?
Jean – Well done for getting to the quarter finals!
If I don’t get a chance to jump on later, I do hope you all have a good day.😀
Day 17 country west Australia FD 84.2 kgs
I don’t usually do a weekend FD but looking at Cruella this morning has jolted me back to reality.
Too many chocolates since Monday and I made Golden Syrup Dumplings for DH as he was a bit cold going round and round on the tractor. I was not going to have any but my ‘Won’t power’ went AWOL and Cruella just smiled….
@northgeorgia, it is good to hear you are working out where your problems might lie. I HATE doing MyFitnessPal but am sticking with it for a few weeks until I get my portion sizes and calories under control.🙄🙄
@stitchincarol, I am not surprised you have lost weight with all that shifting and exercise! It is interesting that some people do seem to be able to stay alive until a certain event and then die at a time which suits them – not VAD – but just naturally. 🤔 Anyway, good luck with all your ‘lasts’ over the week. 🙏
@merryapple, the book ‘Orbital’ sounds interesting. I have always thought that time is not linear but warps vertically and horizontally and varies. Lots of my friends think I am a bit odd about this !😵💫😁
I am in a bookclub and we are doing ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’. I stayed up until 1 am this morning trying to get it finished. Finding it more intriguing than I thought I would.
What is a crawdad??
And I am sorry to hear about your friend’s brother, hoping you are all going OK. MVAs can be so shocking.
@anicecupoftea, sounds like a perfect weekend, and well done on the FDs.😇
@brightonbelle, I am on a similar journey to you and I didn’t go to Naples !!
But my NFDs this week have not been sensible 😞
Doing a FD today with @funshipfreddie‘s ” this FD is non-negotiable” ringing in my ears.😁
@funshipfreddie, I too have been doing Wordle for a few years. It keeps wiping my score and setting to zero. A boast here – I am up to a run of 365 + in a row solved.
I always show my DH just so he can see I am being truthful. When he isn’t here I screenshot it and send to him!!
I got yesterday’s in only 3 attempts so was pretty pleased but took 5 attempts this morning as wasn’t sure of the first letter….🤔🤔
Have you tried ‘Quordle” – 4 at the same time , or ‘Octordle’ – 8 at the same time? I did them for a while but it was taking too much time. I only spend 5-10 minutes first thing in the morning to do Wordle, Connections and Tiles then it’s off to start the day.
@at, sorry to hear bout your sciatica but glad you can walk. Sending positive thoughts. The good thing is that a good diet with lots of fruit and vegetables is anti-inflammatory and good for healing. 🥦
@iona 72, glad you are enjoying salads and impressed at your resolve. I find ‘Pub Grub’ to be really tempting and usually very reasonably priced. 🫢
@ccco, well done on the lower numbers and the looser clothing 💐
@bert1802 very well done on the FD and perseverance 😇💐
Sending wishes to @jaifiaim,@Penz, @flourbaby and hoping you are all going well. Apologies but I can’t remember if they are away…
@daffodil2010, It seems like many of us are in “Club Tortwa”, coined by ?? some years ago!
Slow and steady WILL get us over the line.
Have a very good one, everyone.😊
Hi, I’m new to fasting. I have done 5:2 for about 2-3 weeks and was keeping my calorie intake on the 2 fasting days to about 600. I’d really like to limit my intake to a bowl of oatmeal and blueberries in the morning, then not eat again for the day. I tried that earlier this week and I liked the way it made me feel, especially the next day. Any problem with doing it that way, and not eating again later in the day? Thanks for any advice and feedback.
You’re doing so well AS, Don’t be in a rush, it’s much better to lose slowly that way it stays off.I won at bowls today and the portable pressure washer is great, cleaned the car and it looks just as good as when I have it done at the car wash.My mate is asking about it, he’s fed up of getting the karcher out do I said I’ll take it round to his house on Sunday so he can try it himself.
Day 17 NZ NFD 69.6kg🔺🌋🦮
Quick check in before meeting Paisley the Scottie for a slow walk…
I went to the Writers and Readers Festival y’day afternoon to hear British author, Samantha Harvey talk about her book, Orbital which won last year’s Booker Prize. She said Orbital has no plot so it’s not about story telling, but is a series of meditations by astronauts living in a space station looking back at earth. She was fascinated by what happens to the concept of time and gravity in space; observing night and day on earth from a distance; the shifts in perspectives when confined in a small container looking out at the vastness. I bought her book to read!!! It was a pleasure and so interesting to hear her speak!!
She went swimming over on Waiheke Island with her partner and was joined by a pod of 4 dolphins who stayed and played with them for half an hour, much to their delight!!
@northgoergia Great to hear you’re getting control back. Keep up the good work 💪
@brightonbelle The NZ America’s Cup team have just announced they are hosting their defence in… NAPLES… despite everyone wanting it here. Did you have Pizza??!! Was it good?!!
@stitchincarol Have a lovely anniversary dinner😋 I’m glad for the old boy who made it to heaven just in time for your DH to do his send off🙏
@anicecupoftea Enjoy your weekend! I can’t help picturing you with your feet up in your garden with a nice cup of tea!!🤣
@at I like the sound of that retail therapy!!
@funshipfreddie I’ll look those games up!! Don’t forget to add making coasters to your busy schedule
@jaifaim Are you still on holiday???
Have a great weekend!!
Onward and downward!!
Hello all!!!!!
A great day today. Left work late, but feeling good. Was 2lbs down this morning, so now 28lbs to go. I was a little peeved as it wasn’t the 3lbs I wanted, but then I realised I’ve lost almost a bag of flour, so I did pretty well.😁
It’s so nice to read that many of you have family members who are in education as teachers.😍
We have not touched our garden in months, and the weeds are as tall as me. We booked a gardener for next weekend to clear the entire garden for about £400. However, I believe he will be crying for more once he gets started. If you have watched ‘Creep Show’ by George A. Romero, the one with the man who opens a meteorite and all the gunk comes out and turns his farm into a marsh, that’s what our home looks like. It’s really bad. 😱
Right now my family are indulging in stir friend noodles and chicken, with prawn crackers. I am having tuna salad. I want to keep the momentum going and not undo all my hard work. I am a total of 9lbs down.
I will aim is for another 2lbs loss next week Friday.
Thank you all for your encouragement this week. It has really helped me stay on track.
Evening!
Jean- well done with the boules & good luck for the next round!
Dave- how was your bowling? Hope the washer is good for your car, should make it easier!
Nana- well done losing the pound…& the walking, good hubby was able to with his bad back! Doesn’t encourage people to use the bus! Your Auntie is doing so well…
Hemmy- awful fire your way, so sad 2 firemen lost their lives…
Son said he’s feeling a bit better, he managed to go in today & passed his assessment, just 3 weeks to go. It’s been chilly here again apart from first thing when Xena & I had a lovely new walk, more bluebells! Blood test done, hair cut & coloured, cleaning done…Eldest, his gf, & Mum are coming for a BBQ tomorrow.
AS-hope you’ve had a good day & enjoy your weekend off!
Jean not done it yet, got back from bowling and took Chloe out, had to post a letter to the bank about them roofers. Then I made my tea. So will have a cuppa then try it out. Front door needs doing again and maybe even a third coat. It should last forever having deluxe and Ronseal protective paints.
Afternoon All..
I won two games out of three at Petanque so I took the match, now to quarter finals.
Just looked at my watch and spilt half a cup of tea over me, I forgot I was holding it..I was reading my phone 😂
Nana..
Well done on moving the pound. That was a good walk to the hospital..hope he soon improves.
Enjoy your evening and your Chinese meal.
Dave..
Did you get your car washed, how was the new pressure washer?
Have a good weekend everyone..
Jean x
Day 16…..UK…..FD
Looking fwd to the weekend and starting out today with my FD Friday…. This has become quite routine now so it’s a “no brainer” – only concession is a few cups of white tea, other than that it’s black coffee and water only. The amount of milk I have is under 800 for sure.
@at was that 3 FDs in a row? – that’s good going if so, not ever done more than 48hrs.
not much planned for the weekend, maybe catch up on some sleep and gardening, work has been mental lately.
Have a good one all – Fast well and feel good…
Day 16 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 151.4
I’m down 2/10 of a pound over Wednesday’s post-WFD weight, so I’m slowly making progress. My WF was indeed successful yesterday, but it took lots and lots of repetitions of “Today’s WF is non-negotiable!” to remember not to give in, LOL. And, yes, @funshipfreddie, being busy is very different from being stressed. To add to all that’s going on, a member who was determined that DH would be around to do his funeral, died at 5pm on Wednesday. He was 96, so it’s not unreasonable for him to have reached the end of his life, but he set out to die in early April, and everyone is shaking their heads that he simply willed himself to die, and succeeded. So insteaded of Sunday being Dh’s–and my, for that matter–last day of service, we have a funeral to do next week.
DD and her family are driving from Indianapolis tomorrow to be here for Sunday’s service and catered dinner. They’ll stay in a hotel down in Lincoln just to make it simpler for everyone, and after we’re done here on Sunday, we’ll drive down to the new house and have a lovely family dinner there. This morning will be spent in the new house getting it as tidy as possible and piddly things done. So I definitely won’t post on Sunday, and may head down there tomorrow to accomplish things and may not post. But I’ll be back next week. Oh, and tonight, DH and go out to a lovely restaurant to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary; I’m looking forward to the relaxing and excellent food! https://www.semofremont.com/
Have a grand one, everyone!
Day 16 – USA/GA – ZBC/NFD
Weigh-in: 239 lbs. Yes, that’s right, I’m actually down over yesterday’s weigh-in! I think three factors to consider:
1. It was pretty obvious to me that most of yesterday’s morning gain was due to water retention since it was up very high for the amount I ate.
2. I did not act like a pig yesterday and was fortunate that each event was a buffet! So I ate lightly at both, including stuffing myself with salad with a little vinaigrette dressing at the pizza buffet (only one slice, thank you).
3. Let’s be honest — the food you eat today will take more than 24 hours to manifest as body fat, and that’s why it’s important to not go wild on NFDs. It will eventually catch up, as it has with me over the past couple of years.
I have a family reunion event Sunday, so Monday should be my next FD. Still, I’m trying to chill out the NFDs so the FDs seem less of a major deal.
Beautiful day yet again here. Bowls at 1pm, will see if I can win today for a change. Playing at home so I know the green. It will be faster than normal so I better be careful.Chloe is asleep on the sofa with the sun shining on her😂. I’ve got a portable pressure washer, just charged the battery so I’ll wash the car when I get back from bowling.
Day 16 UK NFD
So 1/2 way through May and I’m still at my start weight , seeing as I had 5 days in Naples I’m taking that as a positive, but definitely want some movement in the latter half of the month
Lovely day here so off out shortly Have a great Friday – sorry Fri- yay 🍸all
Morning everyone, and it’s a chilly one here.
Managed to lose the pound that I’d gained last week so pleased with that considering I’d had an extra lunch out this week. Maybe upping my daily calorie allowance by 100 has helped. Geraldine has been on quite a few outings this week also. OH had a physiotherapist appointment on Tuesday at a hospital in Cambridge which wasn’t at Addenbrookes but another entirely different part of Cambridge and as parking there is limited we decided to use the guided bus into Cambridge City Centre and catch a connecting bus to this hospital, as they say the best laid plans etc because it turned out that the bus was unable to go there because of a power problem found on the road to the hospital and UK power network had closed the road completely so we walked to the hopital there and back a Total of almost four miles in all. What was really annoying was that there was a hole on one side of the road surrounded by barriers and not a workman in site.
Hedgehogs hope you’re son is feeling a little better and that your husbands eye problem is sorted out quickly. It’s amazing how the condition of your eye health reveals things, one of my friends eye test revealed that she had high cholesterol. Yes I’m starting to get in the holiday mode even though we don’t go until Monday.
Dave getting a few games of bowls in, well done on losing a pound. As I’ve said before we hate decorating, so we’ll done for getting on with yours.
Hemmy glad you enjoyed the visit with Kristy.
Autumn Sky, my OH’s cousin was a primary school teacher for most of his working life but ended being a supply teacher because he was fed up with all of the paperwork and form filling that started needing to be done. Also my eldest grandsons girlfriend is a primary school teacher and she does work long hours.Enjoy your well deserved time away.
Jean not long until your holiday, time goes so quickly these days. Hope the Petangue goes well.
We went to Ely as usual yesterday and before doing our bit of shopping and visiting my Auntie we pop into a pub for a drink ,coffee for me and a pint of lager for OH, when we went in yesterday there were a couple celebrating their dogs birthday and they’d hung bunting up around with Happy Paw Birthday on it, the birthday dog had a birthday hat on and also a bandana saying it’s my Paw Birthday on it ,there were also about six of his doggy friends there also ,the noise was horrendous so we went somewhere else, don’t get me wrong we love dogs but a party in a pub for it’s birthday.
Auntie was 92 last Saturday and is still as bright as a button.
Usual meet up with friends this evening and Chinese takeaway is planned.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
Nana xxx
Day 16 – UK – NFD
Had a good drive down to Suffolk yesterday – did 3 stops walking around for 15mins and arrived with no sciatica pain…….so a good start!
I also managed to mostly stick to my planned OMAD apart from a banana and a flat white with semi skimmed milk during my 2nd stop during the drive down, probably went a bit over my TDEE due to my share of a bottle of rose I shared with my friend over a delicious home cooked dinner that evening 🤣
Tonight I am taking her out for a meal at our favourite French restaurant – she thinks it’s only the two of us but I have arranged for another friend to join us as a surprise!!! Will try to stick to OMAD once more but no hope of it being controlled……
NIce weather but surprisingly not as warm as up North!!! Planning on hitting the shops a bit later for some retail therapy…..
Keep enjoying life ❤️
Day 16 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71.5 kg
@stitchincarol – I hope your WFD turned out to be a non-negotiable success! Although, I find when I’ve got a lot going on, especially on a FD, then the last thing I think about is eating. I understand that being busy & being stressed out aren’t necessarily the same thing though. There’s being pleasantly busy & then being frantic. And poor sleep can also lead to poor eating habits
@merryapple – I haven’t tried @penz‘ Waffle game yet. I’ve got 7 ‘Words with Friends’ games in permanent motion; & then having to feed my greedy cat 14 times a day – who has the time?! 😅 BTW, what happened to @penz? I don’t think she’s posted yet this month.. 🤔
Another lovely, sunny day here, going up to 27 C later. I’m off to Grassy Roof again for brunch.
Motivated May – Part 2 💪 🎯 Happy Fri-yay! 🍹

Morning All…
Seems a better day we had the North wind blowing it was very chilly yesterday ..

Day 26 NFD NZ 69.4kg🔺🌋
I leapt out of bed and was at the base of Mt Eden in 10 mins this morning… no tea, no breakfast, no brushed hair… and had a Mexican burrito afterwards…😋I was starving!!
The movie was OK only. All up it was a pretty lightweight account of someone of significance in early 20th century design history who lived in Paris at a time of great intellectual ferment across all the creative disciplines…

@funshipfreddie I missed a Wordle for the first time 4eva the other day too… Have you tried @penz waffle game?? It’s a time waster…🤣
Onward and downward everyone!!
Evening! Page has turned so sorry if I forget someone!
Dave- nice to get your front door sorted, how much more indoors to do? Did Denise get some bandages? Well done with the 1lb off!
Jean- wow, you have been busy, where do you find the energy?! You’ll be needing the holiday…
Hemmy- do you have much watering to do , it’s been so dry…are you growing any veggies or will your neighbours give you some?
AS- what made you give up teaching? SEND teachers are so needed…in Suffolk where I am the SEND provision is so poor, all the HomeStart families I’ve worked with have had a terrible time getting the children school places & even then it’s not good 😢 Hope that your weigh-in is good tomorrow!
Nana- how’s your week been, have you been getting into holiday mode?
We were out yesterday & then youngest son came for dinner in the evening, had fasted up until then. Today was really chilly, we had eye tests & then were going out for lunch at the riverside pub but not nice enough. Poor hubby had something shown up on his eye scan so has to go back next week, & we both need new glasses. Made him a steak & kidney pudding, comfort food! I fasted again. Had to whizz over to youngest’s this evening, he said he was feeling really ill & asked if I’d come & cook his dinner…not like him at all, was worried he was delirious, it was weird…he has tonsillitis!
Weighing in tomorrow too…🤞
Fudge yyyuuukkk.Caramel😋😋😋😋😋😋😋. If I buy a tub of sweets I pick out all the fudge and give it to Denise she loves it. Good luck with the weigh-in tomorrow I have every faith in you. Painted the door it’s Ronseal so it will need 2 or 3 coats😬. It will take a while to do all the decorating, got to do almost every room. Wrote out a letter to the bank about the roofers will post it tomorrow. It’s been a lovely day again, I’ll be getting a good sun tan with all this bowling.I played a lady called Meg today she best me 21-17 they had 5 ladies on their team, very unusual but they were all good players. We won the match by 5 points in the end.
Evening all!
Home a little late but feeling good.
Looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed for a good result.
Jean – Hope your fasting went well today. Fabulous cleaning spree today.
Brads27 – Take that back! Fudge is awesome.😁 When do you think you will be finished with all your decorating? September holiday will be great, as all the summer holiday travellers will be home.
Hemmy – Thanks for the support! At work today it was Diary Box, Family circle biscuits, and some fruit. I don’t eat chocolate so that was okay, the fruit I didn’t fancy, but I enjoyed my lunch which was Gosh falafel, rice, corn and cucumber. I had a small bowl of leftover rice with tuna when I arrived home. Feeling tired so no work this evening.
Half term approaching fairly quickly. Want to go away for a few days to Wales. Hopefully we can go for about 3/4 nights.
Have a great one!
Day 15 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD
I slept poorly, so then I slept late, so then I had to hurry to get to Bible class on time, but I’m finding my motivation for following through on this WFD is very low indeed, so I’m posting in the middle of the day in hopes I’ll get back on track mentally.
I’m finding that I lose my motivation when I’m too busy thinking about other things, and that’s certainly true these days! 🫨😂😂😂 Getting quotes from movers about the piano, realizing how many cupboards need sorting before they can be packed, trying to find a patio dining table that’s actually in stock—these things distract me from fasting, and make me so aggravated I want to comfort eat, LOL!
But I’m taking deep breaths and working on making like a duck and letting it all wash off me!
And I WILL do my water fast today because I finally remembered the key phrase: This WF is non-negotiable. There we go; I should be good now. Thanks, @funshipfreddie, for such a perfect phrase!
Have a grand one, everyone!
The green was a lot slower than yesterday but still fast. I played a lady called Meg she was very good, generally wins most of her games. She beats me 21-17 so I did well. The team won the match 155-150 so a good win. Don’t think you will ever get the butter beans Hemmy😋😂.I might paint the door after tea. I’ll see if I can win tomorrow, getting closer😂.
Good afternoon F B Brits .. hope all is well in your world. Xxxx
It s a change in tbe weather here today .. still warm but very overcast no sunshine at all so far

Day 15 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 240 lbs. I forget how at these multicultural picnics how everyone wants you to try their food, so I know I ate a lot more than I should have. I’m thinking a lot of it was water gain, though. Another minefield day ahead, but I will stay positive and focused.
Day 15 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
@merryapple – I’m not a legend anymore – I just blew my 52 day Wordle streak. That’s what I get for bragging 😢
@stitchincarol – a 3 year low – woohoo!! 🥳 You should move house more often! 😅
@at – simple carbs usually equate to UPFs too, so another reason to avoid them. Enjoy your trip! 🚗
@brightonbelle – I always feel ‘meh’ at the start of a FD. But it kind of wears off as the day progresses & I see success ahead. Can’t see the emoji you typed next to ‘Day 15’ – just a little white square – so I’ve added an avo.
Why were we so skinny in the ’60’s?…

I got blue Jean, might paint the door this evening after bowls.I hope the green we play on today is a lot slower than yesterday’s.It was a nightmare yesterday you had to get over the crown which was like mt Everest then it just rolled down the hill and straight off the green if you bowled it to hard. Just seen a post by my daughter, she’s lost 4.5 stone. Not seen much of her lately.Hemmy any butter beans yet🤣. I’ve not had any for months, but still have some in the cupboard.I will see how Denise gets on with her legs and maybe look at an holiday in September to Lanzarote, all depends how she is and if she will go.
