    Day 19- South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

Well, my attempt to be a weekend warrior hasn’t been successful so far. I didn’t walk too far outside, as it was too hot. But I did clock up 11,000 steps after I went into one of my cleaning frenzies when I got home

@lilymartin – well done to you! 👏 🎯 and it’s always good to have company on the Sunday pocket list

@stitchincarol – enjoy my FD?! Never! 😅 I’ll enjoy playing cards later though. I love the grand piano bookshelf!

@northgeorgia – Uruguay, I knew it! 😅 A tiny country. I’ve been to Montevideo, where nearly half of the country’s population lives. On Sky New’s weather map, the temperature of Buenos Aires always appears right over where Uruguay would be. It must be so irritating for any Uruguayans watching.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

I see on the news today the Global Commission on Clinical Obesity has released new guidelines that move away from using BMI as a weight/health measurement to using WHR and other measures of belly fat, although it didn’t state what the other measures were. It has also split the definition of obesity into two categories:
Pre Clinical Obesity – where the patient is healthy but is carrying excess weight so treatment is monitoring and risk reduction measures.
Clinical Obesity- where organ function is reduced due to excess weight so treatments would be surgery, medications etc.
Sounds like a good change to me, certainly a lot clearer in the definition.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Hello everyone,

Congratulations Neil, surviving with that very woken dragon. And no energy. Cheers for a reset.

Hello to Thin, and the kingfishers,
Best wishes for your fast day.

Haha the tennis is the Australian Open. I had it on a bit last night but I was concentrating more on my book.

I listened to this podcast yesterday and liked the praise they gave 5:2 https://www.abc.net.au/triplej/programs/dr-karl-podcast/sciencetriplej-20241128/104658698

I will check out your French Glucose Goddess.

I went for a short walk last night at sunset, it was a beautiful temperature and lots of street trees in scarlet bloom, and flying foxes overhead with the first stars.

    Best wishes all.

    Couscous…
How frightening and your poor neighbours how things can change in a minute. Definitely a good malt would help and you can be excused fasting…
    Tomorrow is another day..

    Hemmy…
Poor Westley you will miss him.. it’s that dreaded time.
My floor and waste sink are disintegrating so no choice on the floor… and the shower unit has to be replaced and it’s behind the tiles… all seemed a good idea at the time… hoping he’s a kind and understanding fitter.

    Night all

Good FD800 yesterday so following up with another today because the rest of the week is pretty hectic.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Hi all, some interesting posts that I do enjoy reading, giving me a good idea of you all. Taking this rather intense journey has made me think about changing my approach to make it less of a challenge. I think I have shown how some slight changes can impact on my approach to fasting as my post about meeting up with a friend in a local pub showed. However there are also some incidents totally unexpected that can also lead to a Fast Day going off the rails. Last night, 17th having had a good Fast day, around 10.00pm my wife and I heard 3 loud bangs outside our home. (We live on a modern private housing estate where the houses are really close together. My next door neighbour being only a metre away from our home.) She looked outside and to her horror next doors garage was on fire. So intense that it blew the closed garage door clean off. I had to move our car off the drive to safety and the Fire Brigade arrived to put the fire out. Needless to say the garage interior was utterly destroyed and the experience was unnerving to say the least. Our good neighbours on the opposite side insisted on us both going in to their house to ensure our safety. So good to have such caring neighbours. So, an hour later, when the fire was out and we returned to our home safe and sound but with me a little unsteady on my feet. Due of course to being offered and accepting several glasses of excellent single malts. I have to say a perfect reason to break my perfect Fast that day. But, as they say, “Tomorrow is another Day”. Stay safe out there.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening All..
Chilly day again and a mucky walk.. well wrapped so I was fine everyone was saying how cold it was.. I was fine.
I had a few hours with my daughter and SIL, he’s not well again since William went back to Perth, he is feeling down again, not eating at all. Hope he picks up for the holiday.
I have had two munching days so must think more tomorrow..

    Dave ..
The roof was expensive, I think mine will be more than the 5k, the plumber needs at least 2k for fitting. Good you have booked a cottage something to look forward too.

    Hedgehog..
I must admit all these passwords are a nightmare.. not only for your mum. Hope your son soon feels better.. I am sniffing a lot and nose blowing maybe from my jab…

    Couscous..
Brilliant news on 11 lbs off.. a really good start. Hard for your friend if they don’t understand T2..

    Hemmy..
What a good bargain on your bag. My daughter picks up a few bags in Texas, it’s one charity shop what does the designer bags. She picked up a leather travel computer bag/ briefcase for hubby when he travels, just about unused $300 she paid $70…its cleaning down the bathroom tomorrow, radiator, glass shower screen, see how shiny I can get them 😂 I am keeping the run of units and toilet. They are like new…they will do!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Well I’ve booked an holiday in Haworth Yorkshire dales. Heard lots about it when I was at work so now I’ll be able to have a good look myself. Going the day before our 50th wedding anniversary so will celebrate it there. Just pleased to be going away, never missed a year without some kind of holiday. How are you all doing?

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Congratulations Neil. Lucky that you didn’t fall off your bike with hunger on the final ride home. I’ve never tried anything like that, I’ve always assumed I couldn’t and left it at that. Or maybe it’s more that I just do the minimum needed to get by. (Says the 6:1 woman).

Anzac, congrats on the 1.5kg off. Welcome back Quakka. Oh yes, Lindsay’s op shop find. (I seem to have missed or forgotten some details above until Cinque pointed it all out.)

Hello back Cinque! I’m sorry that you need to be in top form to post here – but pleased that you managed it. I don’t even know what tennis you’re talking about – the weather here makes it feel like tennis would be far from anyone’s mind.

Lindsay, I saw another episode of the French Glucose Goddess. Here name is Jessie Inchauspé. I really like the way she presents the science. I’m hoping OH will take note of some of her hacks. As someone who hasn’t gained an ounce since high school, it’s sometimes hard to convince him that his diet could be healthier.

    CalifD, are you OK?

FD for me tomorrow when it will be 8 days since my last fast due to doing last week’s a day early. The kingfisher pair are cited several times daily which gives me the same sense of elation experienced when I used to see dolphins on my walks in Perth.

Oh, I almost forgot. One of the winter moorers here is a 5:2 graduate. She lost 3.5 stone which I shall now quickly convert to kgs so it means something to all of us here – that’s 22! I knew it was a lot.

    Day 18 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. Well, I thought my post went through, but anyway, I was 236 yesterday, up about half a pound today.

Yes, the answer is Uruguay 🙂

I’m going to need it after this very stressful grant renewal process over the next two months. I’ll probably fast tomorrow.

  • Joyous January

    Day 18 – Rural Nebraska, USA – OMAD – 156.6

House hunting yesterday was a total bust; we could have fit into each of them–except not our dining room table, my piano, and the “grand piano bookshelf” DS33 made for me when he was took high school shop. All of which are deal breakers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (here, a picture from fall: https://imgur.com/gallery/HWyvLZs)

So, now we have to increase how much we’re willing to pay and how many square feet we need; hopefully the next round of looking gives more success.

As for food, I was RAVENOUS by the time we got to the restaurant, which proves to me how much I nibble on NFD days, which tells me how much I need to tame my behavior. I’ve shot up so far from my post-WFD weight partly simply from re-feeding, but also because I enjoyed beer at the restaurant instead of wine, and it was a choice I made; the extra weight will drop off, perhaps even today if I can figure out something for dinner that’s less carb-heavy.

@brightonbelle and @jaifaim, too funny about labeling yesterday the 18th; I didn’t even notice!

@jaifaim How fun to have visiting family this weekend (or longer?); where are they from?

@brightonbelle Yeah, no walks for me either: while we actually have blue skies and bright sunshine, the temp is only 12/-11 and it’ll be even colder tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. DH and I walked the walking path of one of the houses yesterday before our agent showed up, but even though it was 50/10, the wind was so bad it felt below freezing. So outside walking is going to have to wait! As for being up 2lbs after your two weeks of f800, I love your RESOLVE to just keep going; you KNOW you’ve done the right thing, and scales simply don’t always reflect that, and even more frequently don’t reflect it as rapidly as we want–but they WILL reflect your excellent behavior soon. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend off even while, I’m sure, you choose “reasonable” over “abandon.”

@funshipfreddie How great to have rediscovered a lovely restaurant! Enjoy your FD tomorrow! 😉

It’s a busy day today, but all fun stuff that I’m looking forward to. Have a grand one, everyone!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Just dug the crockpot out, beef and veg in it. Will be glad when the roof is all done and the scaffolding gone. Cold today only 2°C. Took Chloe out and a white van let me cross the road in front of him, he stopped and opened the window and was smiling at Chloe’s hat. He said I thought I was seeing things a dog in a bobby hat 😆😂.Day 7 of no bread, it’s been difficult but will get there now.

    Day 18 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

What a gorgeous day it was yesterday, perfect weather. I had lunch at ‘Indulge’, about 3 km away. Hadn’t been there for about 18 months, though I can’t think why. There’s a great view of the entire bay, & we saw a couple of dolphins playing in the distance 🐬 It’s going to be a scorcher today

@brightonbelle – you never told us the results of your 14 day FD800. But, maybe you don’t want to? Was it worth it, do you think? I’m sure I’d disappear if I did it 😳 Oh, & now I just saw your post saying you’re baffled, but you’re going to start again on Monday 💪

@jaifaim – re the mosaic number – that’s true! But, I’ll be the one who ends up putting it on the wall. And either Judy or one of her spies will most likely snap me breaking the ‘rules’ 🙄

    @stitchincarol – I hope you found what you’re looking for 🏡

Have a good weekend everyone 🌤🌈

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

There’s a tiny movement on the scales in the right direction. So my plan is to eat breakfast and lunch but nothing apart from some fruit in the evening in the coming week and to skip breakfast at the weekend. Let’s see what impact that has….

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Afternoon all

Well the final day was the hardest. I finally started getting really hungry around midday. I had no energy riding home either. I stuck to 2 black coffees, 2 cups of miso soup, and 1.5L water, then in the evening I was feeling pretty bad so I had a teaspoon of tahini just to get a few calories. The last meal I had was dinner on Tuesday night at around 7pm, and I had breakfast at 7am this morning, so the total fast was around 84 hours when I had around 300 calories total, mainly from the miso.

I’ve done my re-set, now to try to keep the sugars and heavy starches out of the diet. I broke my fast with a flat white and Greek yoghurt with mixed berries and walnuts. I’m feeling a lot better after getting some calories on board.

We went to the farmers market this morning and there was a lot of stone fruit, so I grabbed some cherries, apricots and nectarines. Lunch was some beef scotch fillet with broccoli and capsicum. Dinner tonight will be chicken thighs and vegetables. If I can try to eat clean like that for a week then hopefully I can shake the sugar cravings.

    Have a good one all

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Hello everyone,
I have been doing lots of lovely grandma things, and a sister thing, and also got a bit crook, and apparently I am so decrepit now that I need to be in top form to manage to write. Hopefully I am in top form today. Don’t feel so yet, but the coffee is still kicking in.

Quacka, so lovely to read your post! How was that first fast day of the year? I am so glad you had a wonderful NZ holiday, and woot for the next one.

Anzac, that impressive 1.5kg loss was such a lovely start to your ‘back on the horse’ ing. All good wishes that it is still going easily.
And best wishes with that job hunting too.

It must be so nice planning that next step of getting up to FNQ, and may your dad enjoy some lovely Queensland winters with you.

Hello Neil, All power to you starting the year with a good fast. I thought that not feeling hunger would be a good sign (so long as you remember to nourish yourself a bit). Not ‘waking the dragon’ keeps the dragon asleep. But your fast must be done now, I hope you are feeling good.

I haven’t managed to watch any tennis, and haven’t been hooked in by anything in the sports reports so far. I bet I start to get interested just as it finishes, and then the next championships will be somewhere that means all the matches are played in the middle of our night.

Gday, best wishes. Sympathy for the state of your mum’s home. So often business decisions mean overworked, poorly paid staff and nothing but minimum standards all round.
And more sympathy for badly behaved family members, goodness I thought mine were bad.

Yay for a good weight loss.

And yay for yours too Lindsay!

And wow, what a gorgeous op shop experience. The whole set does sound beautiful. Not to mention the noodle bowl. It is so special to own such beautiful things.

Good luck with the proper fast days.

    Hello Thin!

Sending out good wishes to everyone

    ciao

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Good evening F B Brit friends. Xxxx

Its been a nice day.. lots of sunshine and blue sky. Good day out..
I found a lovely Radley tan leather bag like new. .lots of nice detail..usually retail at £70.. but got it for £10.

When we left for home at 5pm we called at a really old established Banbury Fish n chip shop .. we had only had a coffee .. Oh they were delicious really enjoyed them plenty of salt and vinegar lol plus a glass of wine.

Not weighing now till Monday morning. I will be back in full 5 2 mode lol. Bread will be replaced with Crispbreads again.

Nana .. hope you have had a good day.

Dave.. Ohh that’s a bad blow re your roof price…. Building work is so expensive now. I think lack of people in the trades is the problem they can name their own prices. Well done on no bread..

H H …You did well with your weight on your break.. Start again on Monday.. I hope your son soon shifts the bug. Banking not straight forward these days hard for Mum.

C C .. Sometimes time is the essence and maybe at times our bodies need the extra calories Even though it messes with our healthy eating plans .

Sym.. Dont forget with the plumber .. its what you want.. if you think bits are ok I would insist on leaving them.. Its all money to them .

.Enjoy your evening .. “The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does.” Xxxx

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Hello all. Yesterday, Thursday 16th was 14 days in with a loss of 11 lb. Sadly went out on the evening to meet a friend.. in the pub…as you do. 2 cans alcohol free Guinness but returning home a bottle of Chardonnay and a cheese sarnie….bugger, (oops sorry). Today a reasonably good day, first and only meal at 6.00pm, bacon, scrambled eggs x2 and mushrooms. Followed I am afraid by a small bowl of Vanilla ice cream with mixed nuts. Not too bad a day I suppose. A good friend tells me he is also pre T2 but he does not really understand how serious it will be if he does contract T2. I really did have a job on my hands to get him to understand how serious his position is. Hopefully his wife will speak sense to him and get him on a diet. The weekend will see me relaxing the diet somewhat. Stay safe and well out there.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening!
Dave- that’s rotten, the roof costing so much 😭 Well done keeping off the bread with all that stress & the early starts..
Jean- big decisions for your bathroom, not easy…Glad your arm is okay after the injection. I looked up the old pub/ holiday cottage online, it’s not got any character or old features, not very appealing!
Hemmy- you’ll soon get those 5lbs off, you’re very disciplined! Did you find anything good in the charity shops? I found a really nice jumper when we were away.
Nana, Kay, Couscous, hope you’re all doing okay?
I did put on 2lbs on our break, so strict keto now! My stomach is too iffy to try proper fasting so will just hope it comes off by being careful.
Did shopping today, youngest has a lurgy so won’t see him, saw mum & hopefully have sorted her bank card & reset security questions, it was funny trying to do that as Mum kept getting all the backup questions wrong, we got there eventually! At least we could laugh about it, better than crying 😂
Hope you all have a good weekend!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

They have been great but very expensive £15500. Had to have new beams chimney pointed me lead obviously all new tiles. So definitely no holiday this year. Not easy to save up when retired.I doing go out very much these days, apart from bowling.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening All..
A lovely walk and then had coffee at Christine’s as she had a joiner in the house working.

Popped to the bathroom shop to asks a few questions and collected more books… everything is so expensive. I can see it costing more as Dave’s has. I am hoping to reuse some of the cupboard units. See what the plumber thinks. My tiles are very good so may get away with some of that.

I have stayed the same this week.. I have lost half a pound but I don’t count half pounds…

    Hemmy..
Hoping your weight soon moves, it’s always hard to restart again. Hope you had a good walk…

    Dave..
The roofers have been very good and about finished, wish the plumber would move just a bit quicker. Hope you enjoy your meal tonight.

    Have a good weekend everyone..

    Day 17 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 153.8

Another successful WF yesterday, but overslept this morning then had to head out the door for a dental appointment, so here it is coming on two o’clock before I’m posting anything. I’ve had only a totally reasonable sandwich so far today, and then we leave to go view houses, so I’ll end the day with no snacking–a minor miracle, LOL.

@penz Been there, done that, and you’re absolutely right that there’s no point in weighing when you’re full of coffee!

@funshipfreddie Oh, how silly of her to be so picky; no matter what you do, it will be gorgeous! And bummer on the higher weight, but I’m sure you’ll dispatch it quickly, and certainly by Monday morning.

@jaifaim I’m glad that in a week when you had such a nasty gluten headache, you finally dropped some pounds; you certainly deserve it!

@brightonbelle Wait. You did f800 for two weeks, had one day off, and you’re up two pounds?? That makes zero sense. Reminds me of @basyjames several years ago when she was doing everything right, including strenuous exercise (so, not sitting on the sofa doing nothing), and couldn’t drop her final 4 pounds. Then, two weeks (or something?) later, they were gone one morning. I imagine you were down two pounds, and then the day off was so shocking to your body that you were up four pounds? That has certainly happened to me! Be strong, my friend! 💪

Okay, time to head out. We’re looking at four different houses, thirty minutes each, from three o’clock to five o’clock, and then going out to eat somewhere to talk them all over. Wish us luck!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

    Isn’t it just?

I have had breakfast and lunch with nothing in the evening for 4 days out of 5 this week. Birthday evening did involve drinks and nibbles which was lovely although, there is still about a third of a Christmas cake to eat. But it is delicious.

My plan tomorrow is to see if the scales have shifted and take measurements, and skip breakfast.

But I am finding it tough with the cold, grey days.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Roof almost done at the front don’t know about the back. Pointing to be done on the chimney so they said should all be done by Monday. They have been very good and hard working. My son is cooking tonight noodles and teriyaki beef so hopefully it will be good.

    154.6 ⬇️

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m not sure how but I’m hoping this is the week that cracked the month for me.

I changed things up a little this week and the headache certainly didn’t help as I find when I come out of that debilitating state, all I want is carbs… but… I didn’t capitulate.

So what I did differently re the past three days… is… the first day of my headache I had a meal out with friends at lunchtime and I ate a lot of good food – not the lowest calorie meal but no sugar etc.. the last two days have been a good CD and a FD but both with a good meal at lunch, some fruit and a boiled egg at night. And I’m back in range ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s the weekend with lots on which is a bit strange for me in January but there is … so I will go mindfully into warrior mode. 🏹

@penz happy Friday even though you don’t have to work…😄

Oh @excelsior12309 your young relative has a fantastic adventure ahead of her!! Christchurch is so beautiful and perfect for outdoorsy people- as it all of NZ – it is exactly 20 years since I was there and it left a huge wonderful mark on me 🇳🇿 I vowed to go back and ski in NZ but it hasn’t happened yet.. it will happen though 🤩

@stitchincarol yes! I’m in a worldwide GF FB group and the things I’ve learned are truly amazing.. well done you on the trousers!! You know I love a clothes gauge over a scales gauge. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

@ccco enjoy the use of your kitchen now.. it all sounds very exciting!! I should start some work here but always seem to have other things to do.. 🤔

@merryapple hope you enjoyed your ride! Well done on getting back out on the bike and to such a beautiful place 💕💕 I don’t know who Martha is either but she sounds great 😂😂

@funshipfreddie well dont to you! I got wordle in 3 today.. back to it for 2025. Oooh a picky commission… that can be tricky… alrhough you will just make it and Judge Judy can’t blame you if it ends up on a wall 😂

Hi to everyone else out there!!! Hope you are all doing ok. 💕

Good morning everyone a dry day so far, waiting for the roofers to arrive. They left the tiles outside the front window in what Denise calls the garden , we used to have a few privates, now it’s concrete with a wall. I was worried they would have disappeared in the night. Around here if it’s not fastened down it goes. Costing a lot more than original quote. Need new beams so it’s almost wiped us out. Will have to try and save but not easy on a pension. Were not destitute but much worst off than a week ago.Day 6 without bread today. It’s been very difficult but hanging on.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Good morning everyone. xxxx

A grey chilly day here after all the lovely sunshine.. I expect it is January though and to be expected.

Must start property on Monday will bin anything left. .. buy no treats spend the money on really nice fruit and veg.

Will check in later as out charity shopping at noon with Chris and need to get out over the fields with Pip first.

I hope the scales are good for you this morning.. Together… We Can and We Will Xxxx

I had a very easy FD, but up half a kilo from Monday’s weight. Just a number, @penz, but some numbers are preferable to others! I WILL be on my best behaviour before my next FD on Sunday 🏹

    @jaifaim, @excelsior12309 – thank you! 🦎

@stitchincarol – not sure what’s next, maybe the picture of the cat sitting on a roof at night. The neighbour who asked me to make her house numbers is being very picky. I showed her a bunch of pictures yesterday to give her an idea of her options, but she said she wants to think about it. And then I found out she’s actually a tenant, not the owner. So ideally she needs permission from the owner of the cottage. I don’t want any more drama from Judge Judy! 😳

FYI – Wordle fans – I got it in two today! 🤓

@matpi That’s a really nice summary of the flexible options in this WOL, LJoyce!

    Day 17, NFD, Aus

Checking in and wishing everyone a great weekend.

Today was going to be my weigh in day but I forgot and have taken onboard a gallon of coffee already. Don’t want that to inflate the figures!! Next week. I know 5:2 is doing me good and I feel that my flabby tummy is already slightly reduced. For me the scales are just a number (how I feel is more important), but it does help with motivation watching that number come down!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

They did very well today took all the slates off and put up new batons and felt and a few tiles. Said it might be all done on saturday.5th day off no bread, really hard today. I think Monday I will eat a loaf😈😈😈. Costing a fortune to have the roof done so no cruise this year in fact no holiday at all 😭.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening!
Back home, had to pick Xena up a bit early as she’d been sick, she’s fine now! Didn’t get to see much of North Walsham, but we found what used to be the pub, it’s now a holiday cottage…
Hope the roofers get done okay Dave & it doesn’t rain!
Hope the jab’s okay tomorrow Jean 🤗

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Morning

Day 2 in the books, again I had 2 black coffees, 2 cups of miso soup, and 1.5L water. I did have a few scraps of grated cheese when I was making the pizzas for the rest of the family Last 2 days have been around 80 calories each. I’m kind of concerned that I haven’t really had any signs of hunger for the last 2 days that I haven’t been eating. I’ve had a bit of light headedness and fatigue, but no real hunger pangs. A visit to Dr Google says that a lack of appetite can be caused gastrointestinal issues, depression, or reduced metabolism caused by prolonged calorie restriction. None of those sound appealing to me.

    USA. Day FD

Good day, everyone! My workers are still here and will be here through next week. I do, however, have my kitchen back. Not having the ability to eat all day yesterday really was a benefit to me, Penz, and you are right. It is funny but it did wonders for my fasting. In fact, today I don’t even feel hungry, so I haven’t even thought of anything but seem to be not very hungry. Being busy has always been helpful in keeping me from food. I don’t even think about it.

Day 16 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

@merryapple It’s so good to have you back! Please clarify the Martha comment, would you? And I fully understand the frustration of how easy it is to regain the weight, as I’ve been there, done that, three times now. I’m absolutely determined I won’t this time, and I’m sure you’re just as determined! Say, is your brace off? How’s the healing going?

@molij Having a spotless and shining house is the best result of burnt calories, isn’t it? Enjoy it and we’re eager to hear what the estate agent says after seeing your house!

@jaifaim PAPER STRAWS?? And skin care and hair care?? Good grief. I’ll share that with my son. Glad you’re feeling so much better now!

@funshipfreddie Awww, LOVE the gecko! What’s next?

@penz Too funny that you’re still excited about Fridays…It’ll be interesting to see how long into retirement (if ever?) it takes DH and me to get over landmark days, LOL. Although, since I’ll still be teaching piano lessons, perhaps I won’t call myself retired just yet.

    @northgeorgia Uruguay?

@excelsior12309 A listless FD, eh? I’m sussing out what that exactly means, and I’m guessing it was with zero enthusiasm, but not much temptation, and it succeeded?

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments on the sweater. If you look closely, you’ll see the sleeves are simply not as long as he’d like. That was a huge challenge, to figure out what length to make them, and I even had him try it on when the first sleeve was nearly done, and I thought I’d nailed it, but obviously not. For now, he’s just going to wear it, but in a few months, I’ll cut off both ribbings, and make both sleeves longer, then knit the ribbing again. 🎵 “This is the sweater that never ends, it just goes on and on and on…” 🎵🎶 Oh well, at least I can be done with it for now, and I get to work on the t-shirt quilt again on Saturday; photos of that will come…

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 16-No. VA USA-FD800
Beginning another rather listless fast day. Weight is stable, but I would like to lose 3 # before the end of joyous January, and we all know how to do that!
Good to see you back, @merryapple! I hope your hand is continuing to strengthen. Sounds like your holidays have been super busy. My step-granddaughter is going to be doing a semester at Christchurch University starting in February. She is a very outdoorsy person; perhaps she will run into you on a hike somewhere!! She is, of course, extremely excited. Her mom is accompanying her on the flight over, and is a bit anxious about the 21 hour flight. If only it were in first class!
@stitchincarol, your sweater creation is lovely. Well-worth all your efforts.
@northgeorgia, I shall guess Uruguay. Tomorrow, I shall guess Paraguay. That is it for guesses!
@funshipfreddie, your artistic talent is blooming!
So good to see all the posts. I am having to run off to work now!

    Day 16 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Mom’s rejected homemade soup with rice and peas I’m sure is upping the carb/calorie scale, but I’m going to continue with it until it’s gone, and it should be by the weekend. Still, down by about a pound and a half again, so all is well.

OK, time for a second clue — the country is so unpopular in terms of tourism, it usually is an appendix in the guidebooks for other countries. When I tell people where I’m going, they get a confused look on their faces, nod their heads slowly, remember it is a country and exists, but I know some of them couldn’t find it on a map.

    Day 16, FD, Aus

Lots of lovely chatty posts to read through.

It’s now after 8pm so I can call this FD done and dusted! Done my 10 000 steps and started some new volunteer work poisoning weeds in our adjacent nature reserve. I will be sore tomorrow!!

Yep, I well know that extra cold feeling on FDs, @stithincarol, I do not like them! And yay for your loose trousers!

Hang in there, @merryapple, you know what works. Get back on that wagon!

I had to laugh @ccco. Apart from the joy of getting lovely new bathrooms, another benefit of renovations is not having a kitchen to ruin a FD!

Glad you’re over your headache @jaifaim.

Ooh! Very handsome sweater! (And husband to go with it.) Congratulations on finishing @stitchincarol.

Even though I’m not working, I still get excited at the thought it’s Friday tomorrow!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Good morning everyone, the roofer as just turned up. Day 5 of no bread, think I’ll manage to do the week.No bread also means no butter so plenty of calories saved. I’ll get weighed in February. Feel stiff this morning didn’t help that Chloe was on my bed and lay across it instead of by my side.

  • BMI 21.5, will this work??

    Hi Louis,

It sounds like you’re already leading a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and mindful eating habits. With a BMI of 21.5, you’re within the healthy weight range, so the weight loss might be slower compared to someone starting from a higher BMI. The Fast Diet can still help you shed a few pounds, but it’s essential to focus on realistic goals and sustainable habits.

You might also consider exploring support systems and tools to track your progress, much like how services such as hmo management london provide tailored solutions to help manage and streamline processes. Applying a methodical approach to your health journey could make all the difference.

Remember to be kind to yourself during this process, and good luck on your first fast!

    Second post

@stitchincarol also lovely to put a face to your DH! He models it well and @funshipfreddie I love your gecko. I have a lovely mosaic gecko on my wall but he’s not as bright as yours – he’s gorgeous!
Such a talented and joyous crew! ⭐️⭐️
