    Day 8 NE England NFD

Must do better today, the scale is moving in the wrong direction. Salad lined up for lunch so a step in the right direction. Not done so many steps whilst DH is recovering – but will be back to normal soon hopefully.
Stay strong over the weekend everyone!!

Ok, I really need to do some work now!!!!

    Day 8 North Wales NFD

Not too bad a fast day yesterday. Going to try and eat mindfully over the weekend.

@ccco glad you had a good fast day. Hope you have some rain soon.

@funshipfreddie. I have to confess I have nearly bought all of my C presents. I like to spread the cost out.

@stitchincarol hope you come back soon.

@flourbaby hope your work settles down and becomes less stressful

@at I have always wanted to join a book club. Unfortunately there are none by me. What book have you been reading?

@merryapple have a lovely time with your brother and nephew.

@missybear hope your house viewing goes well. We are putting our house up for sale at the end of January. We are having to wait until then because I can’t do any lifting until after Christmas and I want to do a bit of decluttering before we advertise it. I am dreading the whole process but it must be done.

@brightonbelle hope your trip to Sicily is brilliant.

Have a good day everyone and a lovely weekend.

    Day 8, London, UK, FD800

MIA yesterday, work is stressful as, despite saying things would stay the same, there are going to be some changes at work and being self employed, they may affect me!!😲😲

As I say @stitchincarol, each to their own, no judgement just opinions❤❤, You love a WFD I detest them with a passion (mainly because the following NFD becomes an EFS day!!🤭)…………………… I would be upset if you left us I look forward to your lengthy chatty posts & it would be another thing I blamed DT for😁 so there; you CAN’T leave now!!!🤣🤣

@missybear, it’s a shame they’re not in a secure buying position, perhaps they have a secret stash of cash waiting for the perfect house……… yours!!!🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

@ccco, they reported on the news this morning that we’ve had a total of 18hrs of sunshine in the last 11 days!!!! I’ll swap weather with you if I could!!!

@merryapple, does that mean 3 meals for you too just to be sociable?? Make sure you stick a huge salad in the middle of the table, you won’t do too much damage that way ……….. I hope!!!🙏🏼

@funshipfreddie, I heard a comedian on telly saying he was disgusted with the huge amount of Xmas things on the shelves, there’s just not enough space left for the Easter stuff!!!🤣🤣

Ok, better get to work before they sack me!!😲………….. Not funny!

    Day 8 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.8 kg

Back on track after an effortless FD, & half a kilo down from Monday’s weigh-in. I got started on making a couple of mosaic Xmas ornaments & before I knew it, it was 8 pm & I hadn’t given food a thought.

@jaifaim – I love what you said; so much division in the world right now, we don’t need to add to it on this forum ☮️

@missybear – 🤞🤞 for the viewing today! 🏡 I remember the torment of having to keep my apartment ‘on-show ready’ after I put it up for sale. Luckily it sold very quickly. The ‘C’ word 😅 It seems to start earlier every year?! I’m expecting to see Easter eggs in the shops any day now 🐣

@molij – I hope you had a successful FD, despite feeling hungry. There are lots of ways to deal with unwelcome hunger. I think the best ones are just changing how we think about it. E.g. tell yourself that the hunger is just proof that the fat is melting away. Also, that it’s just temporary. Whether you eat or not, the hunger will subside in a few minutes, so don’t dwell on it. And of course, whatever you want to eat, you can – tomorrow! I agree, fireworks shouldn’t be sold to the public. In SA you need a license to sell them, but anyone over 16 can buy them. Madness 🤯

@merryapple – you typed 86.9 on your heading?! I’m relieved to see on the spreadsheet it’s actually 68.9, & I’m sure you’ll exceed your goal this month 🎯
Maybe you can make your 3 meals very small meals next week? I finished up chatting to a couple at my regular coffee shop for over an hour yesterday. They had food but I just had coffee & it didn’t bother me at all. But then last week at my friends’ place I didn’t even attempt a CD on Thursday.

@at – I hope your Book Club didn’t get in the way of a successful FD. I’ve never attended a book club, no idea how they work. I don’t think I’d enjoy it though, as I’m not a naturally chatty person. Especially in front of a group of people 😳

@northgeorgia – less than 3 weeks til Thanksgiving, but plenty of time to push that 236 way down before then 🎯💪

    Happy Fri-yay y’all! 🍹

    Day 8, NFD, Aus

I did a successful OMAD yesterday. Funny how I be can really hungry the night off a FD or OMAD but then wake up the next day not being hungry, and settling back into my normal ZBC routine.

Good luck with the open day @missybear. It only takes the one super interested buyer so here’s hoping they fall in love with your place.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Day 8 NZ NFD 86.9kg

@iona72 Glad to hear your DH has got through his surgery. My plastic surgeon said well over half his practice now is sun damage… I’ve had two melanomas excised… Melanomas can pop up anywhere whereas basal and squamous cell develop on the sunburnt site.
@penz Glad you had a great weekend and your FD / OMAD was so easy😄. On days like this it can be a relief to rebalance!!
@northgeorgia It sounds like you’re getting things together this month 💪
@stitchincarol We admire and value your input into our wee group and certainly want you here. I’m happy that you are feeling joyous about the election results.
I am saddened though to read your post about feeling angered by those of us who are of a different political persuasion and posted about it. We should all be able to express ourselves and celebrate our differences with tolerance. That’s how we learn from each other 🤔😊
@jaifaim Keep going!! A WOOSH will be heading your way!!
You brought to mind the example of an egg. In NZ losing an international rugby match sends the country into morose despair and has a much greater effect on the national psyche than any election!!
@missybear Keeping your house SO tidy must be a nightmare!!! I always manage to get through December but it’s after Xmas with leftovers everywhere that I get into trouble 😅
@at Remember!! Two hands on the book tonight!!!!
@ccco Hope your new garden plants are coping OK. Do you have to water them?
@molij I’m sure those hungry FDs are the losing weight days!! Sending 💪!!
@funshipfreddie How did your FD go?? It’s amazing how easy it is to take the brakes off on weekends away…
I’ve got a kg to drop now for this month. My brother and one nephew are coming up from Wellington to give me a hand😅next week. However that means 3 meals every day😬

    Hedgehog..
Grandson has enough points to stay but can pickup another 10 points with the test , I have no idea why he says it looks better on the form.. nice to have a good chat.
Glad your trip away went well you find some special places. You will be looking forward to your Dutch friends coming over.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Evening! Back from our break, I forgot to post yesterday…
Jean- good that you don’t have to wait too long to get the first eye done! Fingers crossed for your grandson with his test, he obviously loves it there!
Dave- well done with the chilli, better than a ready meal…
Hemmy- I’m glad you’re so close to Kristy, nice if you can spend time at Christmas with her other mum…
Nana- knuckling down til Christmas now?!
I used to make liver & sausage casserole for hubby, his Mum’s recipe, hope your iron levels are good enough to give blood!
We had a nice couple of days away, stayed in a lovely cottage & were lazy apart from walking Xena. Stuck to keto again. Youngest son rang while we were there for a chat, he had a difficult job for the fire service & then had to go straight off afterwards for his day job, we popped to see him again today so he could get it off his chest…
Have got quite a few jobs done since we came back, a busy few days coming up next week, Mum’s birthday & the anniversary of when Dad died, our Dutch friends are coming to visit as well…

    USA. Day 7 FD

Today’s FD is going well. Thank goodness because yesterday’s didn’t go as well! I hope everyone is having a good day. The weather here is very warm for this time of year but I am enjoying it. I only wish we would have some rain. We haven’t had any in 30 days!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Chilli was nice, might have some of it on a baked potato next time. Hot enough left over for 3 or 4 more meals. Will put it in freezer bags, flatten it then it will fit better in the freezer.Quiet pleased with the chilli considering it’s my first attempt.I can remember years ago I would have been about 8 years old and it was Christmas time. My mother was ill so I made lots of different tarts, made the pastry and filled them all, under supervision. They all came out well my dad loved them😀. Do I have always liked doing things in the kitchen. I’ll try and do more meals from scratch now while I have the bug😄😄

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Good afternoon everyone Xxxx.

Its another damp very dark day here .. will need to go in the garden earlier today..

I have got the crock pot on with some chicken breasts .. bacon and lots of veg and lots of herbs .. I have covered them with a can of chicken soup .. never done it before ..
    it is smelling lovely.

I set off the alarms.. when frying the bacon.. poor Pip hates them wanted to go outside. bless him. So windows had to be opened so much for my saving heat lolol

Dave… hope your chilli is a good one..I am always reading a book but with self help ones like Atomic Habits just do a couple of chapters and let it sink in.

Sym… Lovely to speak to your Grandson.. and a nice new hair do .. a good boost to a grey Thursday. I will be good to get your eyes done
    .
Yes Kristy is my stepdaughter she is 45 .. I ” adopted ” her since she was 5yrs old
she lived with her Dad . .. its only later years her Mum has become more involved. Kristy says she has 2 Mums lol. It all works well she lives a few miles away. . we are two entirely different characters.

Hope everyone is having a good day. We are going into the garden to play now..

What ever you decide to do today, make sure it makes you happy. Xxxx

Hair cut and blow… all booked up to Xmas next year.. she is very hard to get an appointment. She has very few odd cancellations.

    Dave..
I wouldn’t know what to do without him, he is good company although he’s asleep most of the time 😂… the Xmas things starting on 1st November on TV no wonder no one want to know by Xmas.
I shall buy a few bits but nothing like I usually do.
It’s good going for checkup appointments hope it goes ok it will be interesting what they do.
My countdown on my two weeks has started, it will soon be here.

Fireworks were still going off last night good job Chloe ok with them. Jean I expect it will be a few weeks before they do the other eye. Can’t remember how long my dad’s took. I go for a lung check up on Saturday afternoon in Tesco carpark.I was reading about it and they give you a catscan and you blow into something as well.I used to smoke 40 a day so it will be interesting what they find.

    Day 7 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 FD

We’ve got people coming to view our house tomorrow morning so I’m busy tidying and cleaning today. We don’t think the viewers are a good prospect as they don’t have their property on the market so they possibly haven’t even made a definite decision about moving home. I may have mentioned this before, I hate having the house on the market 😬🤣 but at least it’s keeping me busy today so I’m guaranteed a successful FD🤞

I see I’m not alone in being naughty in November so far 😳 we need to turn it around into the planned no nonsense month. I’m concerned if I don’t shift a few pounds this month even more will stick to the gain next month during…..is it too early to use the C word?🎄

    Day 7 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Hi all, hoping you are all ok.
Yesterday was an emotional day for many and I do believe people should be able to express their emotions even if they have different beliefs. Some of us were in shock and others happy… that’s life… we share our emotions and move on… 💕
I agree that this forum is not the place for political discussion but it is a safe space to share our emotions and the impact those emotions have on our day and I think that’s important.
I hope everyone has a nice day and that we all stay together.. we disagree on many things on a daily basis but let’s not let that get between us… 💕

    second post.

I only logged in to say my NFD morphed into a OMAD which I’m happy about.

Funnily enough, no one gives me odd looks #funshipfreddie, probably because just about everyone else but me standing in a queue is peering down at their mobile phones!

Don’t leave us @stitchincarol! I agree, politics is one of those topics we should steer safely clear of in this forum. However, in this particular case, the US has an enormous impact on global affairs which is why it has been of so much interest to so many of us and thus became a topic of conversation. I always feel that, at least on these pages, we all treat each other with respect and support, knowing that everyone’s views are shaped by their own experience, values and knowledge, regardless of whether those views align with our own. So of COURSE you’re still welcome, and I am absolutely positive that no one’s comments about the outcome of the election were intended as a personal attack on you. And I am so very sorry that you have been hurt by that. I do hope to see your bubbly self back on Day 8!!

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

LJ, yes I understand what you’re saying. Most people do live in their primary investment which gives them no return until they realise the capital gain. From that perspective, we are fortunate that the proceeds from our house were invested in something that’s more or less kept pace with house prices and gives us a good income. Nevertheless, what’s happened/ing with the housing market is unnerving.

    Day 7 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

I clocked up 10,700 steps yesterday 😇 but struggling to get back into the LCHF despite my mini-break of only 4 days. Today will be a good FD 💪

@iona72 – ‘Naughty November’ indeed 😂 Yes, let’s get back to it – today!

@molij – it is fascinating, the whole US election process. How a candidate can potentially win the popular vote yet still lose the election

@excelsior12309 – I hope you’ve cheered up by now. Those ‘four more years’ will fly by.

@penz – welcome back. I’m trying to imagine you standing in a queue on one leg! 🤣 Don’t you get some odd reactions? 🤸

@ccco – there you are! 😅 Welcome to ‘No-Nonsense November’.

    @merryapple – 69.2 & a FD today! 🎯

@stitchincarol – no, don’t leave?!! I was shocked to read your post. You’re absolutely right – this forum is not the place for political discussions. But it was only natural for people to express their views on such a momentous day. And I think they were expressed with sincerity & respect. What a dull world it would be if we were all the same? I think this guy Scott Jennings summed up the mood of most of the nation on CNN, in front of a group of nonplussed presenters, “..they’re not garbage, they’re not Nazis, they’re just regular working people who get up & go to work every day & are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they’ve just been told to shut up…” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMfLIAEttrM

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Correction to previous post: I’ve been to NZ a few times and I loved the south island – I hate humidity and prefer a cooler climate, so the north island is not for me as a place to live.

Thin, it’s not that I’m unhappy about an increase in housing value. It’s just that it doesn’t really help me. If I sell this home I’m buying something else in the same market. If I eventually go to a nursing home, the bond that you pay is based on median house prices for the area of that nursing home, so my house sale will only just cover that. If Adelaide housing prices hadn’t increased so much my options would be much the same, but those trying to buy their first home would be having an easier time of it.

  • No-Nonsense November

Good grief, people. Get a grip. More than half the voters wanted Donald Trump, so that can’t be hideous, terrifying, shocking, or confusing–and this, in fact, a joyful day for me.

I’ll be back when you’ve gotten over it. Or, let me know if I’m not welcome any more, because I’m sure feeling like a freak given how you’re all reacting.

And if it’s not clear, my reaction is far feeling hurt and insulted than anger.

Which is why politics should NEVER be a topic of conversation on this forum.

    Day 6 North Wales NFD

Today was going to be a Fast Day but I have decided to make it a NFD. Very sad and a bit worried about the result of the election. I have found it fascinating following it over the last few months but do not understand the result.

@funshipfreddie. I read about the problems in Scotland when I woke up. Personally I think it’s time that they stopped selling them to the public. I am however in favour of organised firework displays.

@stitchincarol I am trying to increase my steps. I was doing 10,000 plus a day but I am unable to do so at the moment. Trying to increase the distance I walk a little bit more each day.

@excelsior12309 @flourbaby and @northgeorgia joining you in feeling down, baffled and fearful. That’s why today is not a FD for me.

Day 6 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD
    🚶🏻‍♀️‍➡️- 5

I’m struggling to figure out how to track my 15 walks/week, LOL, so I think I’ll just have a second line with the current number. When I walked up to vote yesterday morning–giving me my second walk of the day–there were over THIRTY people in line! I’ve never, ever had more than a couple of people in front of me in the past, so that was rather stunning. So DH and I went back around 7 last night–giving me my fourth walk for the day–when there were only five people in front of us. The one thing I haven’t yet heard is a comparison of how many voted this election compared to past elections, but the casual conversations I had throughout the day said everyone was finding lots of people waiting to vote.

@funshipfreddie Well, even with all the walking I did yestserday, I still only got to 7700 steps, so no apologies are needed to me! If it’s any comfort, I knew that the Cherry Liquer Chocolates were not alcohol–it’s a very misleading name!

@jaifaim I too have inching-up numbers, so let’s grab hands and be full of RESOLVE together, shall we?

I couldn’t stay awake last night to watch the returns, and was asleep on the sofa by 9:30, and went right back to sleep, so even though I’m up early, I feel good for a solid night’s sleep…that always makes a day better, doesn’t it?

Okay, I’m off to see what I can accomplish. Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 6, London, UK, FD800

Managing to stick to my FD800’s within about 100cals ……I say ‘within’ but I really mean +100!!🤣🤣

Baffled by the US election result, as @northgeorgia said, I understand economic factors play a huge part, but I don’t think anybody has a magic wand, the entire world is hurting in their pockets. I’m quite fearful of what’s to come ……………. and I don’t even live there!!😱

Anyhow, it’s a quick one from me as I’m flat out at work as usual!!!

Keep the faith folks, we can do this!!!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

I tried a shirt on and they are still big, but I don’t mind lose fitting clothes, much better than tight ones. Will try the other ones on when I get home from MoreLife, just got here sat in the car park typing this.

    Day 6 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 234 lbs. My FD was somewhat successful. Instead of soup, my mom made some buttery tortellini. Errrrgggg…. So it was likely a FD800 if anything. But down two pounds, so I consider it a success. Like @excelsior12309, I am not happy with the results of the election, but I understand — many times people vote based on the lightness of their purse. I’ll be encouraged to get back on track with my fasting in any case 🙂

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Good morning everyone, I’ve lost 7lbs so very happy with that. I can hold my head up when I get weighed again at the meeting today. One of the women texted me last night, I said to Denise I bet I get a text today off her😁, she always asks if I’m going. So hopefully I will keep going in the right direction. I’ll try one of my new shirts on today, not opened them yet. Hope they fit out I’ll have to grow into them.

    Day 6-No. VA USA-FD
Well, I am not pleased with our election results and I am somewhat ashamed of my countrymen and women. Perhaps I will do a fast day.
    Definitely feeling “down”!

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Wednesday FD for me. I’m back for a bit of 5:2 hoping to drop a kilo so I can get my pants and my thermals on a bit more comfortably. Leftovers from Sunday.

Neil, I knew that extra weight would be off in no time. How did you manage with the Diwali festival treats? Did you offend anyone? Sorry if you’ve said already. I know what you mean about reconciling the daylight hours between the seasons. I love the long daylight hours of summer but that winter trade-off can be depressing. What a lovely trip to Nelson you have planned.

LJ, thanks for that detailed information – very helpful. I am getting a clear picture of what it would be like to live in the Adelaide Hills. It sounds similar to what they call the Perth hills – risk of bushfires, larger blocks to manage, less populous, less access to city goings-on, useless public transport. But traditionally, the ageing population lives in the Perth hills so, over the years, they’ve seen good medical facilities, hospitals and supermarkets being built. I do now remember why you wanted to move and how methodical you were about reaching your goals so that you could travel. You don’t seem very excited that your property has nearly doubled in price in six years!

GDSA, I read a report about Australian capital city house prices that cited Adelaide properties as having increased by 14% over the last 12 months versus Perth 67%. Lies and statistics then! We’re not so much looking for the cheapest median price as a less frenetic market. The boat increasingly seems a good option for indecisives like us.

The USA’s electoral college voting system exists to prevent less populous states from being overrun by more populous states such as California. I like the fact in the USA and UK, everyone votes before anything is reported. It’s frustrating to Western Australians to wake up on election day to be told your vote doesn’t count because the result has already been decided by eastern states voters. And, I can’t see how compulsory voting is considered democratic. What I do like about Aus & UK election processes is that’s all over in six weeks. Who needs a presidential race that lasts two years? And I wonder why an incumbent should be allowed to campaign at all? (i.e. we’ve just endured your four years of failure to do whatever it is that you’re promising to do now). And are people really that stupid that a movie celebrity could influence their vote? I guess the answer is yes.

Way off-topic! Back to food then, we’re waiting for a grocery delivery. We were handed a coupon in-store too good to pass up. So I ordered some bulky and heavy things. We have an address here but it’s so cool that you can just provide a bridge number and a postcode for a delivery to your remote countryside canal side mooring.

    Day 6 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

The rain has finally stopped, the sun is trying to come out & it might even reach 20 C today 🌤

Non-stop election news here. I just heard Trump has won the swing states of North Carolina & Georgia, but there’s still a long way to go 🗳 And some news about ‘Bonfire Night carnage’ as trouble flared across the UK with yobs clashing with the police. I’m sure that didn’t happen when I was a kid. I’m starting to sound like my dad 😅

@flourbaby – I didn’t even consider cherry liqueurs containing alcohol, duh?! It does mention alcohol in the ingredients, but it must be a negligible amount, because they’re displayed with all the other chocolates in the store & so presumably can be sold to children..? 🤔

    @northgeorgia – I hope your Tuesday FD was a success 💪

@missybear – I’m sure a no-nonsense November & plenty of RESOLVE will shift your unwanted holiday baggage 🎯

@stitchincarol – I’m embarrassed to admit I only managed 4400 steps yesterday?! I need to get a grip. I WILL hit 10,000 today AND tomorrow to make amends🏃

@molij – I don’t think my cat would appreciate loud fireworks either. I’m not a fan. They’re only really a problem here on New Years Eve. But most Wednesdays are an ordeal for Boo Boo when our garden service comes round with their hideously loud strimmers & leaf blowers 🙀

    Happy Hump Day! 🐫

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Good afternoon everyone.

Yesterday’s FD went well which ended with a salad + grilled haloumi, yum. I’m following it with a careful day today. I’ve made a huge batch of bolognese (85% veg) and I plan to add beans and chilli to a little of it tonight and turn it into shakshuka, with the addition of a couple of poached eggs.

Neil, I agree about the sugar and starchy carbs. I cope small amounts, but if I overindulge my appetite becomes uncontrollable.
My issue with the potatoes is where to store them – I don’t even have a garden shed, let alone a root cellar.

GDSA, It’s both amazing and horrifying how much Adelaide property prices have increased in the last 2 years. Normally we get left behind in the wake of eastern state price rises, but not this time. I bought my house 6 1/2 years ago for 585k and it’s now worth about 1m. That’s just ridiculous. It makes it so challenging for anyone to buy their first house.
I agree that the US electoral system has many pitfalls – I’m very glad we have the Electoral Commission to run things here. I’m listening to the PBS coverage of the US election as I type, it sounds as close as predicted. I just hope that, whatever the outcome, it’s not violent this time.

Thin, Where you settle depends so much on the pace of life and the climate that you prefer. Adelaide is hot (maybe slightly less than Perth) and traditionally a dry heat with low rainfall, although there has been an unusual level of humidity in recent years. It has the advantage of having the services of a capital city, but with a modest population, which makes it easier to get around and with no high density housing. I no longer live in the Adelaide hills, I moved down to the suburbs 6 years ago, I’m near Brighton beach now. I chose this area as it’s really close to services and multiple forms of public transport. As long as you consider bushfire risk when choosing a property, the hills is a lovely place to live. It’s green and lush, quiet, cooler on summer evenings and you have koalas in the garden (I did). I was at Stirling which was a 20 minute drive to the CBD (outside of peak times) but it felt like a village not a suburb. While you are fit and able to drive it’s fine. It’s not convenient if you can no longer drive because there’s limited public transport options and there are no local taxis except for Mount Barker. Most of the house blocks are large compared to suburban blocks (1/4-1/2 acre, depending on the part of the hills), so you have to be able to manage a large garden often on a slope. It became too difficult for me and I knew it would get worse as I got older. I chose something I could safely age into.
I’ve been to NZ a few times and I loved the south island – I hate humidity and prefer a cooler climate, so the south island is not for me. If it wasn’t for the earthquakes I’d happily settle in Christchurch, it’s one of very few places I’ve been that felt like home (Lucerne and Launceston are the other cities that felt like that). What they have in common is that they are very small cities with a lot of parks and gardens in the CBD – Adelaide is like that, which is probably why they felt homely to me.

I’m keep getting disrupted from my typing by the cat. She’s still grumbling, presumably about me cutting back on her lunch time treats. She keeps walking across the table to me and head butting me! At least I’m not having to deal with claws or teeth.

Time I made a pot of tea. Take care all.

    Day 5 second post

There was talk of soup recently, and I’ve been meaning to post this recipe; it’s one of our favorites and is super fast.

    Quick Chicken and Corn Chowder
    1 cup loose-pack frozen crinkle-cut carrots (I use all of a 12oz/340gr bag)
1/2 cup chopped onion (I put in more)
    2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (I use GF for DS33’s sake)
1.5 cups milk (I use skim)
    16.5 oz can cream-style corn
    14.5 oz can chicken broth
12.5 oz can chunk-style chicken, not drained
    2oz jar diced pimiento, drained
    1/4 tsp pepper

In a large saucepan, cook and stir carrots and onion in butter until tender, about 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle flour over mixture, blend it together, then slowly stir in milk. Stir in corn, broth, chicken, pimiento, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 3 minutes.

    Makes 4 servings
    353 calories
    14 g fat
    46 cholesterol
    35 carb
    24 protein
But keep in mind these number are based on an exact adherence to the recipe.

We truly adore this soup, and it’s done in about 35 minutes flat; I hope someone here learns to love it as we do!
