    Day 11 North Wales FD

After saying I was going to eat mindfully over the weekend I did the complete opposite. I am so cross with myself that I am going to try and do an extra fast day this week if I can.

@jaifaim it’s been incredibly glum in North Wales too. I am longing to see some sunshine. I am also longing to get out on my bike. Unfortunately it will be a few weeks yet.

@ccco look after yourself and give yourself time to heal.

@funshipfreddie looking forward to seeing your mosaics. I will have to try and work out how you share photos so you can see some of the things I am sewing. You are acing these fast days, well done 👏

@merryapple I feel for you having to stay in plaster for another 6 weeks. I broke my arm riding a horse. Even though the break was clean I ended up in plaster for 6 months. The bone wouldn’t knit together and I ended up having a bone graft from my hip to help it heal. Unfortunately I wasn’t given any physio after or during and I still can’t rotate my lower arm properly.

@missybear sorry your viewing didn’t go well. It’s a stressful time buying and selling houses. I realised yesterday that I have moved home 10 times. You would think I would be a seasoned pro but it always stresses the hell out of me and when I am stressed I eat and drink alcohol more. I was catching up with the October posts over the weekend and saw that I like you moved to Wales from the West Midlands. We moved 20 years ago. My husband grew up on Anglesey and he wanted to return. Hope your husband gets his operation in December. The waiting lists here are another source of stress. I like your idea of adding wine to the spread sheet. I could do with a shock to show restraint so I might join you in doing that too.

    @michelinme welcome back

@flourbaby I adore sour dough too.

Have a good day everyone ❤️

    Day 11, London, UK, FD800

No WW for me this weekend, you see there was this loaf of sourdough bread ………. enough said!!!😋🤭

Good to see @stitchincarol promising to return to the fold!!!👏🏽👏🏽

@funshipfreddie, love that little angel! Are you planning to open a shop ………… or just mosaic the entire house??? I look forward to Judge Judy’s reaction if you start on the outside first!!!🤣🤣🤣

@merryapple, the consequences of a random raised paving slab!!! A lengthy rehab period, but hopefully you’ll be back to normal with no lasting effects afterwards!💪🏼💪🏼

Thankfully I swerved the ‘red-med’ this weekend and the sourdough has been banished to the freezer……….. I really want to have a full week of proper FD800’s. I MUST focus on 1 day at a time starting TODAY!!!!

    Keep the faith folks!!

Good morning everyone. I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Xxxx

It looks like the sun is appearing today at last .. it will be very welcome.. the constant grey days are tiring.

Its been a naughty eating weekend.. lots of crusty seeded bloomer loaf and doughnuts and wine.

I was up 2lbs this morning from Fri weigh. Its quite alarming how very quick it amounts up .

Its funny as it always seems a struggle with carb overeating just before Christmas.

Well in the famous words that have been said on here over many years .. A line drawn under .. It s a new day and week. Is anyone going to join me in push from now till Christmas.. Xx

I really want to be my best weight by beginning of December to find a lovely outfit for going out for lunch this year. ( Charity shops ) lol I just fancy something different a bit more flamboyant for me.. .. lol

How has everyone else’s weekend been.. did you stay on track or drift off like me lolol.

Have a lovely day everyone. It’s Never Too Late to Live a Healthier Life.. Xxxx

    Day 11 – Ireland – FD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾
    159.3

Bobbing back up over the weekend..
Not to worry… I know why – that’s the key – far too much deliciousness in the form of baked goods and dinner out …although it seems to affect me far more in the past few months…
Will not stay for long 💪
@merryapple I’m so sorry to hear that – it must be so frustrating… but no better woman to know how important the rehab and physio are… 💕
Ha ha…🏹 on my chariot 🚴‍♀️ It started out as such a miserable wet and muddy day but the company of friends and good cake and coffee makes the early call well worth it. And the sun came out mid morning.
@ccco sending hugs your way… I can’t pretend to understand but we are here for you to share your emotions as you heal.. as @funshipfreddie says it’s so important not to keep them bottled up and we are blessed to have @merryapple with us who can offer such reassurance. 💕💕
@funshipfreddie well done you!!!! 🎄🎄Must be great to have a FD a done and dusted by Monday ⭐️. Fabulous creativity there! It’s amazing that you are still relativity new to the craft. 👏

Bravo @iona72 on the DTF 👏 Celebrate the wins 👍

    Day 11 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.7 kg

Easiest FD ever! And I really wasn’t tempted by the ice cream & strawberries my neighbours scoffed during the card game 😳 These people really think I’m nuts! 🤣 I was way too sedentary though, so I’ll be cranking up my steps this week to make amends🚶

@merryapple – so sorry you have to endure another six weeks being one-handed?! But at least you should be good to go just in time for the silly season! 🎄 🤞

@ccco – sending you a hug. It makes sense that your psychological recovery will take longer than the physical. I’ve read that it’s typical for people to feel sad or vulnerable after surgery, so be kind to yourself. Don’t keep your feelings bottled up or try to battle through it alone 🤗

@iona72 – aka weekend wanderer 😅 kudos to you for swerving the🍷yesterday! DTF would’ve definitely meant a drink or 4 for me on a Sunday evening 🥴️

@penz – my latest masterpieces 😜 Though I say so myself, they look much better than in the photos, more colourful & sparklier. The owl isn’t finished yet though…

    Day 11 NZ FD ?

Raced off for an X-ray and clinic appointment this morning.
Bad news – I have to stay in a splint for another 6 weeks (just completed 7 weeks), still on v limited physio exercises, now have a different splint at night to stop contractures and have to do exercises to stop muscle loss in my whole arm. I have the trifecta… a “serious compound, displaced, comminuted fracture”. CRAP!! 2.5cm of bone # and my life goes on hold👀😬
@ccco From my experience what you say about your craniotomy is completely normal, if this helps.
I researched and wrote up an MA following up Critical Care patients 6 months after discharge. The thing I learned from them is that your body has to heal first before you can find the psychological energy to deal with the consequences of these life changing medical events. We cared for neuro, trauma, transplant, big surgery and respiratory failure patients at our Level 1 city hospital.
@funshipfreddie I can tell now your place is going to be the go to Christmas decor place. Add in a few lights and your place is got sparkle🥳
@stitchincarol Looking forward to your next post😘
@iona72 Focus on the next FD!! They’re much easier after eating )too) well😅And remember it’s the weekly cals that count not so much the daily ones. That’s what I’m hoping anyway!!
    @jaifaim No waste🥝 You’re a weekend road warrior 🚴‍♀️💪😁
    Good numbers @northgeorgia!!!
@missybear Red medicine is perfect with venison!! See it even rhymes!!! I’m on the G&Ts because the weather was warm but now it’s turned again to cold, wet and windy..,
My brother has just arrived back with his Swedish Valhund, Koda. Every time Koda shakes his fur goes flying… Time to go and see what’s up!!

    Day 11, FD, Aus

Hello all – just checking in.

Pics please of your latest mosaic pieces @funshipdreddie!

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Morning all,

I’ve been pretty busy recently. I bought a truck-load of blue gum rounds, and I’ve spent the last week after work, and all last weekend picking it up from the guy’s farm, unloading it at home, splitting it and stacking it. I’ve been eating quite a bit, because I’ve been feeling absolutely knackered by the end of the day. I’m feeling very sore, but I should have enough firewood split and stacked to last us the next two years. I’m not expecting too much on the scales, because I’ve been beefing up after a week of processing the wood.

Thin, we really like jalfrezi. I haven’t cooked it before, but we have a local Indian restaurant that does take-away, and their meals are really good value. $15-$18 is enough for both my wife and I to have a decent dinner, with some leftovers. When we get Jalfrezi we normally get the lamb one though.

Cinque, I live up in a semi-rural area of our city so we have numerous birds around our place. Apart from the plain old introduced ones, we have Kereru (native wood pigeon), Piwakawaka (fantail), Bellbird, Tui (parson bird), pukeko (swamp hen), a small colony of rosellas, even the occasional Morepork.

Anzac, sorry to hear about Maxx, Although thank goodness it’s sorted now and he’s on the mend.

Gday, I was thinking of something completely different when you said “the Diplomat”. I got it mixed up in my head with Sacha Baron Cohen’s movie “The Dictator” and I was wondering why you were recommending something so crap.

Cali, my commiserations for the election result (I assume that was what you were talking about for the stressful days)

Ljoyce, Christchurch isn’t really a small city (well by New Zealand’s standards anyway), it’s our third biggest centre behind Auckland and Wellington. I found Christchurch is a great place to visit, but I wouldn’t like to live there. I hate the traffic there. I’m quite happy with Dunedin, we’re a green city, and within 3 hours drive from the holiday areas like Catlins, Queenstown, Wanaka, Te Anau, Central Otago, McKenzie Country, etc.

Well I’ll likely have a fast day tomorrow now that I’ve finished all the heavy physical work, and I might even manage to get back to riding my bike, since I have neglected that while I was doing the firewood. Have a good one everyone.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

I like mushrooms if I have egg and bacon with them otherwise I give them a wide berth. I can do the meat in my ninja it takes an hour because it’s also a pressure cooker. I’ll have a beef stew and chicken stew when it gets colder. Might make a pie not made pastry for a long time. Can’t do fish I only like it from the chippy.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Hello everyone,
    Last week was very busy.
This week is filling up too, but I will get a post in first.

My doctor confirmed the (fading) peptic ulcers and that they are probably because aspirin has been my preferred pain killer. No problems until I got into my 60’s. (If the results come back H. Pylori that will change). Very relieved that if I keep on managing the ongoing, but subsiding, symptoms they should fade away and never come back. No idea why the symptoms are all around throat mucous and coughing, but I guess that is preferable to the pain so many ulcer sufferers have.

And it means that I didn’t have reflux after all! My brain is still trying to adjust.

How lovely it is to read of Thin sitting watching the British birds and Gday enjoying the Australian ones. Looking forward to list of N.Z. birds from around Turn’s new home, and South African birds from Suzy’s home. (Mostly rock doves and noisy miners around here, as always).

Today I am having a zoom call with my sisters and then heading off to pick up Ms 10 granddaughter and take her swimming. Hoping I won’t be too exhausted to post again tomorrow.

    Speak soon
    Cheers all

    Evening!
Busy couple of days, yesterday caught up with cleaning, had a doctor’s appointment as I have a lesion on my arm, saw mum in the afternoon & youngest popped round to talk about his practical fire service assessment …today had son & gf over for breakfast after his scan, then baked Mum’s cake- trying a new recipe for a brownie cake, but it’ll be too tall for a cake tub so will frost it tomorrow! Mum is driving us a bit potty atm, moaning about so many things, her ears, hearing aids, her storage heaters, trivial things, & it’s a difficult week as it’s the anniversary of dad passing so she’ll be upset about that … She keeps saying how awful her birthday is, but has enjoyed it the last few years as sis & I make a big effort to make it special for her 😢 I know she has dementia but it’s upsetting when we’ve gone to so much trouble…We’re taking her out for lunch tomorrow.

    USA. Day 10. FD

I went a little overboard yesterday but today I have a very small appetite. I think I will be able to stay on track!

Thank you FUNSHIPFREDDIE, MissyBear, and jaifaim for your support. I think I am still stressing out over my craniotomy this past summer. I didn’t get to actually think about it until a while after I returned home from the hospital. My skull still hurts a little and I still need to have all my hair grow out. I am constantly reminded what a major situation I went through. I think with time that I will stop thinking about it and the stress will go away. It’s mostly comes in the evening after I finish the day and try to relax for the evening. 😕

I am a little confused about why Stitchincarol doesn’t post right now. I read the posts but didn’t see the exact cause. I hope she comes back. She seems to be such a dear!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

    Day 10 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 234 lbs. Tomorrow will be a FD. I was going to make today one, too, but I really want to make some soup for this week and it would be a shame not to sample it when done 🙂 I had a big meal out for lunch yesterday, but other than something small the other times of day, that was it. Result is I didn’t gain any weight, and was even down an ounce or two. I might have three FDs this week.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Afternoon All…
A better drier day no mist…long walk then watched remembrance parade.

I decided to defrost my freezer and sort it out. I am transferring my meat to the inside freezer odds and ends to eat up. Both freezers are quite empty Hemmy will be pleased with me 😂 as we both go on a mission to empty them.
Thinking on the farmers I think they will go on a go slow or strike action.. I back them completely. If they do start the shelves will empty in about 4 days, so I am preparing for it. I shall start stocking up again. Meat, veg and dairy!!

    Dave..
I shall start my dinner batch cooking, more soup as I like it. I need to sort my outside freezer out, it doesn’t need a defrost so the easier one to do. See what I have in that one.
Batch dinners do make life easier, you should buy some skirt beef, cook with onions and mushrooms if you eat them, I cook on 160 degrees for 30 mins and drop it down to 130 degrees for about 21/2 to 3 hours, at the end put some bisto in to thicken and season..
You can have it on its own, shepards pie or make a pie crust..very tasty. (I buy 1kg)

    Day 10 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

Nearly 2 pm already?! I’m finding this mosaicking business very addictive. I decided this morning I’d work on something – just for an hour or so – & half the day has disappeared. Still, that’s nearly half of my FD out of the way. In the last few days I’ve finished a snowman, an angel & a Christmas tree, & now I’m working on an owl.

@merryapple – your brother just turned up 4 days earlier than scheduled?! Was that supposed to be a surprise or was it crossed wires? I don’t think I would’ve been thrilled 😟 You ARE a WW! 💪😅

@missybear – I understand your struggle with the 🍷 I couldn’t even manage 2 AF days before I quit. I’d even have one or two on FDs but would just eat less to allow for the calories. And I can’t even claim to have had any little stresses 🤦‍♂️

I’m supposed to be playing cards just now, so that’ll take care of another chunk of my FD. I don’t think I’ll be clocking up many steps today though 🤔

    Happy S🌞nday everyone 🌤

    Pocket List – Day 10 🥑

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Sunday FD comes around quickly when there are two FDs a week! The chicken jalfrezi was so delicious that, although we had it for both FDs last week, I’ve made some more today. It’s a small portion but very filing when eaten slowly and it’s so flavourful and aromatic. I’m giving the waterside restaurant a run for its money.

Anzac, poor Maxx. What a worry for you. Have a super time on your trip! Enjoy the mile high shower. You mention seeing two shows in London. We’re going to London to see Lion King in a couple of weeks. DD arranged it all. We’re going for the day. The train fare costs the same as the show. I’m with you on the weather. It has been so depressing not to see the sun for days on end. We continue going out for crisp, autumnal walks along the towpath – I have to force myself out of the warm boat but it always feels good once we’re out there.

CalifD, sorry that you haven’t been able to fast and that you feel stressed. We haven’t decided on any winter getaways yet. I need some inspiration after this year’s Cuba/Mexico disappointments. We’ve so far been concentrating on medical things, vaccinations, dental check-ups and so on. I may have mentioned that we have a 16 day pet sit in Lincolnshire arranged for the three of us over Christmas.

GDSA, sitting on the front verandah listening to cockatoos in the gum trees sounds very Aussie. A bottle of rum, please. No, that’s plum trees. A clothesline out the back and an old rocking chair.

Turn, hurry back, I’m looking forward to reading more on the tiny home.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Hi friends

I don’t know how it happened, but just one more week before our big trip. We packed today to make sure we had everything we needed and it is so good to have that done

G’day, I love cooking days and yours sounds epic! 200 items must be an amazing feeling of accomplishment. We cook for my Dad plus try to have healthy options in the freezer when we are too busy / tired to cook so we don’t end up taking the home delivery route. I hope you enjoyed phantom at the movies, one of my favourite stage shows. We are seeing two shows in London – Michael Jackson (which co-incidentally started advertising here one day after we booked) and Moulin Rouge. Those noodles sounded really really awful; I cook a nice pad thai but substitute bean sprouts for the noodles and it is amazing

I am so sorry about the stress Cali, my left knee is complaining loudly as I need to lose a lot more before it stops. I’ve been doing some good long walks in anticipation of long days of wandering on our trip but my knee is really not happy

Thin I never stop being fascintated by your way of life. I could not tolerate the weather as I go into a mental cave unless the sun is shining but I love reading all about it

LJ I am utterly lactose intolerant but I can eat Haloumi and love it in a salad. Great pick for a FD

We had a terrible scare with our boy Maxx. He had a bit of a bad tummy so went to the vet who was not concerned, gave him a shot and advised bland food. That night he went downhill so fast our heads were spinning. We ended up at the vet hospital early the next morning where he collapsed and was rushed to emergency. The vet was kind but honest about how sick he was. It was hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and I think we nearly lost him. He is all better now, and even stole a shoe yesterday for the first time in over 10 days. I wake up every morning and thank God that it happened when it did and not two weeks later, else our trip would have been off. We don’t have anyone who could take him

So sorry to hear about the peptic ulcers Cinque, but woo hoo to the 54 kilos (so tiny!)

Yay for the 2 kilos Neil!

hi Turn, so lovely to hear from you

    Take care everyone

    Day 10, NFD, Aus

Yum, @missybear! I suppose it’s too late to invite myself over for your venison casserole dinner? I chuckled at your ‘red medicine’ phrase. I too am a frequent self-doser and need to cut back. DTF seems too high a mountain for me to climb but I’ll get there.

    Still WW’ing @merryapple?

Sad not to see @stitchincarol back.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Hello all, Sunday morning here and I’ve just come home from the weekly Dog Club meet up, sitting on the front verandah with a coffee and a pesky cat jumping all over me so apologies for any typos. The cockies are squawking so loud, the gum trees are full of them. We had a few light showers of rain yesterday which was lovely and expecting the same tomorrow.

For those who have Netflix I highly recommend The Diplomat – I’m feeling bleary eyed this morning because I sat up until midnight binging the first series. Didn’t quite get to the end, 2 more episodes to go then onto series 2. I don’t normally watch much on Netflix, we have it as Miss GDay watches it, I like Britbox – I love British tv, always have from my childhood.

Not much happening in the weight loss department, it’s been difficult with quite a few meal outings over the last few weeks and more to come in the coming weeks. Why is it so difficult to get a meal that isn’t deep fried and loaded with bad carbs and sugars, it’s damn near impossible. A few days I go I had to go out of town with a group of people from an organisation I volunteer with for a regional meeting. The meeting finished at 1pm so they decided to grab something to eat before driving home. They insisted on paying for my meal as they were all paid staff so had expense accounts to charge their meals to. We were at a small food court where the choice was a shop that sold pies, hot, chips, toasted sandwiches etc. A Subway store, a bakery and a Chinese shop. I ordered a vegie stir fry and asked for minimal noodles as I thought it was the lesser of all evils. I was horrified when my meal arrived and it was a huge plate of 99.9 hoikenen noodles, 3 slithers of carrot ( no thicker than a piece of string) and 2 leaves of bok – that was the entire vegie content. If I’d been on my own and paid myself I would have taken it back and complained but I didn’t want to embarrass the others I was with.

I made some tasty Anzac type biscuits from Clare Baileys treat book last week. No sugars or processed flours, made with almond flour and they were a bit too scrumptious because I couldn’t stop eating them. Last weekend was pasty making weekend, we made a huge amount, over 200 for the freezer, it took up all Saturday and Sunday to make the pastry, chop all the veg, put together and bake. Huge amount of work but worth it. In the last month Ive been cooking to restock the freezers – a variety of soups, stew, rice, spaghetti bolognaise, pizza bases, chicken curry, chilli mince – meals for Miss GDay when I’m fasting or when I don’t feel like cooking for us both.

Must dash and get Miss GDay out of bed, were off to the cinema today to see a broadcast of Phantom of the Opera from the Royal Albert Hall.

    Day 10 NZ NFD 70kg👀

It’s a blip!! My brother turned up on Friday night not next Tuesday…??? I wasn’t home so scrambled back to house quite unprepared for two extras in the household… An extra bottle of milk smoothed things over along with eating out y’day. We went to a lovely wee Italian place last night with Alex’s two cousins. I had gnocchi swimming in a creamy truffle sauce😋 Not the low cal choice but hey!! I will be preparing tonight’s evening meal chez nous.
Still try to be a Weekend Warrior with no in betweens!!
We’re off soon for a Westie and Scottie club walk at our largest city park followed by a sausage sizzle 🥴

    I am a WW! I am a WW! I am a WW! I am a WW!

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Housing prices here are way up too, but they didn’t increase as quickly in the area where we live. That said, we could never afford to move back to the Bay Area where we lived prior because the prices there are just outrageous even for a house that’s not as nice as this one. But we have way more wild fire risk here and much higher fire insurance, something that’s changed in the last 6 or 7 years with climate change.

I haven’t done any formal fasting days in the past couple of weeks but there were a couple of days where I ate almost nothing due to stress. You can probably guess which days those were. But somehow I managed to stay in the mid 66’s. I had been in the 65’s for a while. My right knee can certainly feel the difference. Very unsettling times. I wish I could feel more positive.

We went from a hot summer and early autumn to winter temperatures, at least overnight, almost a month ago. Our daylight saving time ended last week and it seems like a bigger adjustment this year in spite of the fact we’re always at home. Our area seems similar to the Adelaide Hills. I wouldn’t mind a smaller, flatter lot these days. LJ, I think you made the perfect choice when you moved to you present house. Thin, it sounds like you found a very nice place to dock your boat for the winter. I haven’t had a chance to catch up on all the previous posts. Have you decided where to travel this winter?

Turn, good to see you again! I hope you’ll post some pictures of your tiny house when it’s built. I have watched a couple home decorating shows featuring them over the past couple years. Fascinating how they manage to fit everything into such a small space.

Cinque, sorry to hear about the peptic ulcers, but at least now you have a better idea how to treat the eating discomfort. They have made a lot of progress in treatments.

Hi to everyone, Gday, Neil, Quacka, Anzac and all the other silent ones. I will try to be here more often.

Still no change so I will have to make some changes instead. Switching some lunches and evening meals to salmon, tomatoes and cole slaw, which I love. The aim is to reduce the carbs which I am already having at work. Hopefully this will make a difference.

    How is everyone doing?

    Day 9 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Cooking venison casserole with lentils and lots of root vegetables for this evening, it will be served with a couple of glasses of Malbec. I am a little concerned that I’m over using the red medicine to cope with life’s stresses and 5:2 is becoming 5 days of wine and 2 days of abstinence 😳 so I have decided that for the rest of the month I will use the wine emoji on the spreadsheet every day I have a drink….…the plan being that the truth in picture form will shock me into restraint…..or will at least add some colour to our spreadsheet 😂

@funshipfreddie on the bbc website yesterday I read that there have been a few deaths linked to weight loss injections. Scary when the UK government are proposing to offer the treatment to obese unemployed people to help them become better able to enter the work place (and off state benefits).

Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable weekend 🤗

    Day 9 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 235 lbs. Up a few ounces today, but down about a pound overall from last week.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Denise said I have selective hearing, especially when she wants something doing.I have to go for my lung check-up this afternoon.Didnt ask for it so will see what happens, it’s supposed to take an hour. I like chicken so will look into some chicken dishes.A few stews done in the pressure cooker, only takes an hour in that, probably less but I give it an hour.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Morning All..
A bad nights sleep awake from 2.45 I did eventually go over again.. possibly just too tired.
A wet start but not raining.

Must move soon I should be up 😂

A planned power cut on Monday morning so I have bought a single camping stove all built and ready to go. I shall go out and look for a cheap kettle and a pan. The ones I have are a bit heavy. We have a local family chain of shops, the shop, if you want anything they will have it.. cheap too.

    Hedgehog..
You know me and my oats, I do like anything made with them, hopefully I will make some.
I like my hair, it will be hair wash day tomorrow. Mine is thin I have to use products to make it easy and straight!
Your chocolate cake sounds lovely hope mum enjoys it and has a nice birthday.
It’s better hubby can hear you than not, still he might think different! 😂🤣
Steve had selective hearing as Charlie does! Maybe a man thing!

    Day 9 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

    Happy weekend all!
I had a good CD yesterday with a meal out with friends and a concert. I feel my brain has slightly shifted back to focus setting. 🙂 it’s such a relief – was really flailing there for a while.. Damned holidays!! 😛

Hi @michelinme- it’s great to have you back 💕

@penz I have tried them! 🥝 And love them and am eating them skin and all… they aren’t furry at all. I have never joined a book club but my sisters are in one which is mostly a social catch up after a little bit of initial book chat.. they have great nights and sore heads after 😂😂 I know some can be quite serious but I suppose it depends on the group..

@funshipfreddie sounds like a lovely catch up spot… ☕️. Im off to my little local cafe now ♥️☕️♥️ best way to start the weekend. Best of luck with your Sunday FD — I’ll join you as a weekend warrior 🏹. Not FDing but keeping focus. Cycling both days so will need fuel.
Yes we go to the polls on November 29. 🗳️ The worst thing is that every lamppost in the country will be covered in posters from early this morning 🙄

@ccco evenings have been my challenge in the past two months… the days have gone super well but getting home and not keeping active enough and having the wrong foods here really threw me… last week I got back to walking or keeping busy in the evening and it’s helped to get me back on track. The weather has also helped 🙏

    Ok off to battle 🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹

    Day 9 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

    @michelinme – welcome back, & to No-Nonsense November! 🤗

@missybear – so sorry the potential sale didn’t pan out. Just one buyer, that’s all it takes! A friend of mine has just sold her mum’s house (she’s gone into a care home) in Southampton. It sold two days after going on the market – for £2000 more than the asking price.

@flourbaby – I hope the uncertainty & stress at your workplace is resolved soon!

    @brightonbelle – bon voyage again! ✈️ 🇮🇹🍕

@jaifaim – the retired couple I was chatting to at the coffee shop aren’t strangers, but I only know them from there. They’re regulars like me, & they started chatting to me just after I moved to Port Elizabeth a couple of years ago. It sounds like it’s election time for Ireland now 🗳 🇮🇪

@molij – I’m envious that you’ve bought all your pressies already. Apart from making ornaments I haven’t given it a thought. But I’m not leaving it til the last minute this year, like I usually do.

@penz – I don’t think I’d enjoy a book club like that either! 😅 And I never even thought about wine at those occasions, so maybe it’s just as well I haven’t been to one.

@ccco – I hope your FD worked out yesterday? You don’t say what got you stressed out though? Have you tried breathing exercises, like alternate nostril breathing? It usually works for me. As for late-night snacking, if you’re not hungry then it’s just a bad habit you need to break. Try having your evening meal later if you are feeling hungry though. Or have a hot drink instead. Keep your hands busy if you’re watching TV, by doing a crossword, or play a game on a gadget. If you’re still scoffing your grand-kids treats, then maybe stash them somewhere it’ll be a hassle to get to them. Or only buy them on the day you see the grandchildren.

@iona72 – I’m resolving to have a no-nonsense weekend – to be a Weekend Warrior, as @merryapple puts it – with another Sunday FD tomorrow. It’s a great way to kick off a new week, getting the first FD out of the way 💪

    Day 9, NFD, Aus

Have you tried the gold kiwi fruit @jaifaim? I find them a nice change from the original green fleshed ones. Hope you get your 5:2 mojo back soon.

I went to a book club once. I was surprised how serious my fellow book clubbers were and how they really analysed the book in depth. I had always thought a book club was just an excuse for a get together over wine and was horribly ill prepared. I didn’t go back!

You have a lot going on @missybear – remember to take care of you.

Good luck on the work front @flourbaby. Nothing so stressful as uncertainty.

Well I better get back to the garden. Still lots of work to do and the weather is quickly warming up where it will be uncomfortable to work in.

    Day 8 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 2nd post

@ccco sending you virtual hugs and strength to resist temptation in your witching hour……and if emotions insist you must have something, try to make it a little something and absolutely savour it 🤗

    USA. Day 8 FD

Welcome back, michelinme. I remember you from quite awhile ago. Welcome back! that 40 lbs. you had lost is admirable. I am right here for you. I am a bit into some emotional eating right now, myself and it has been a trial and tribulation! Evenings are my witching hour and I am in it right now, trying to must up all my strength to stop! I wish you the best on your journey! 🙂

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening!
Jean- oaty biscuits sound good, will you make them tomorrow? Hope you can get your hair looking good when you do it yourself 😃 I’ve had the same style for quite a while, long hair doesn’t suit me, mine’s too fine! Nice to have a catch up with your friend 🤗
Hemmy- well done with your weight! Your stew sounds good, dad used to put soup in to thicken a chicken stew, I was vegetarian by then though so never tried it, looked much more appealing than Mum’s horrible watery version 😂 He loved cooking once he retired …your friend sounds very interesting!
Dave- try cooking any of the meals you have ready meals of, they’ll be healthier? I’ve been doing Chinese style chicken for hubby, with either lemon, pineapple or orange sauce, really easy, he loves it.
Nana- hope you’ve had a nice takeaway tonight…
My weight was the same this week, very pleased after our break. Rang my HomeStart family today, have finished making Mum’s chocolate bouquet, pleased with how it turned out. Went to the hospital this afternoon for hubby’s hearing test, he needs one hearing aid, made him feel old!
Have a good weekend everyone 🥰

    Day 8 UK CD

Helloooo! Short intro – F60 London. In September I landed back on the waggon for the second time round (2017-18 lost 40lbs, maintained for a few years then covid – long covid – health issues + emotional eating, put it back on.) I came back here my heaviest ever, lost 11lbs to end October then went on retreat … where they ate nothing but bread!

so… I came back from my lovely retreat on Sunday evening but have been Full On Hectic since then – and not stopped yet. I puffed up hugely with the monks/nuns bread diet – at least one meal/day was bread&cheese, and the other meal was carb heavy. Plus I ate chocolate. So I came back puffy as all heck and had to hit the ground running… Since then… This week I have crawled back down to 84.5kg/186lb, tho strangely my fat suit has shrunk slightly while I’ve been away. I’m still here and motivated by my FD800 x 12 weeks friend who is now 15kg down!!! And woohoo – my wheels are finally sorted 🙂

I missed you – and looking forward to catching up with posts. This is not a great month for fasting because i’m all over the country for part of the next 3 weeks – from York to Bristol to somewhere I don’t remember – but I’ll be catching up with posts and posting and fasting as often as I can. Hanging onto you and the waggon for dear life!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Evening All..
Coffee and tea cake with my friend or should I say 2 coffees nice catch up..

    Dave..
    I didn’t get them made maybe tomorrow…

    Hemmy..
1 lb away is good, I am staying the same but 4 lbs up. I need to get it off for end of year weigh in.. I don’t feel on the ball at the moment fast days are good it’s the inbetweeners !

    USA. Day 8. FD

    Pocket List Day 8

    @at FD800
    @flourbaby FD800
    @ccco

Yesterday, I got so stressed out that I ruined my fast last night! Put myself right back on the pocket list and will try again! Back when I was younger, I could always go for a run when I was stressed but I have gotten too old! :(. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet found a substitute for it. An evening glass of wine doesn’t help!

Merryapple, thank you for asking about my plants. They are really showing distress, especially my grass. I thought of watering them but my spickets are shut down for the winter! 🙁

@iona72, I am glad your husband’s surgery went well. The sun can do so much damage!

@penz, I know what you mean. If I eat a certain amount of food one day, especially if it is too much food, I don’t feel so hungry the next day. That seems to happen when I go on a WF, too. It diminishes my appetite.

@missybear, one of my best friends just had an ablation and it went very well. I think she is a little bored sitting at home resting for two weeks. I am sure his ablation will go well. I haven’t personally sold or bought a house in quite a few years but I have been watching my daughter go through all this. Much has changed over the years. My daughter must have thought she would never find a house because it took a few years. She finally found one but a few bids went in above what she and her husband offered, so she thought she wouldn’t have it either. Nevertheless, she was really lucky. The owner like them so much that they picked my daughter’s bid. How wonderful but she is still trying to sell her townhouse! They just lowered their price. This all is so confusing to me!

@flourbaby, who could understand how the weather works anymore. It seems to be feast or famine. If you could, we would love a little rain sent our way! 🙂

    Take care, everyone!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Good afternoon everyone xxxx

Another grey day. But it doesnt feel so damp as of late. At least a dry walk but it ssoo dark.

I am just one pound over my target weight now.. obviously I have been doing something right this week. lol I reckon a bit of a naughty day tomorrow is called for lolol….

This evening its crock pot chicken breast and veg .. it turned out soo tasty adding the chicken soup can .. it made a lovely tasty thick sauce.

Dave…I think once you get into cooking its very enjoyable. I used to loved it. .baking cakes and pastry .. but lost my interest when just catering for me.
I have just come back from my neighbours.. she is always cooking or baking absolutely loves it. .. she is a writer and artist and says cooking is an art.. putting flavours and colour together ..

H H .. Your away time sounded lovely and peaceful nice to have got a break before the Christmas rush.
Your sons have got a wonderful Mum.

Sym..Did you have a nice coffee and chat .. Your hair change sounds lovely..I bet you will soon get the hang of the new style. Nice to change it up a bit its easy to get stuck in the same old look.

I have had my shoulder length hair up in a twist with combs for about 2o yrs lolol ..I keep thinking I should go for a short cut.

    Nana.. is it Geraldine today.

Take care all. Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. Xxxx.

    Day 8 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾
    159.3lbs

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well on this rather glum Friday…. Dying to see some sun here BUT it has been dry for nearly two weeks now so that’s good. @ccco it’s warmer than usual here too but I’d wager it’s much colder than where you are!
Thank you @merryapple – I have faith 😆 but no whoosh just as yet… but I’m here and with you in the pursuit of whooshness.
By the way, I am eating lots of kiwis right now! Whole! It’s your fault but I love it… guess what kiwis help with as well as fibre and vitamin c, sleep! It’s early days but I’m definitely reporting better sleep after a week of Kiwi in the evening. You may think I’m crazy gang, but look it up… 🥝🥝🥝
@stitchincarol I really hope we see you here today and please know that we would miss you so so much if you decide to leave our lovely group 💕 please don’t 🙏
@missybear – all the very very best today 🏡. I’ve never had a house up for sale and hope I never do 😂😂.
@iona72 I’m glad to hear your DH is recovering ❤️‍🩹… we can do this and get the scale to work with us 💪
@at I hope your book club went really well! I’m back on track with reading which I’m thrilled about… the holiday was a great reset for that.
On the subject of sparkling water… one thing I noticed in the USA is that it is very difficult to find sparkling water in the shops… it was a mystery to me… does anyone know why it’s not that popular in America?
@brightonbelle ooohh enjoy!!!!! Bring back some sun ☀️!!
@flourbaby sorry to hear about the work pressure but glad to see it doesn’t affect your lovely sense of humour 😂♥️😂

    @funshipfreddie well done on a great FD… 🎉
I think you may be a better chatter than you give yourself credit for… as you had a lovely long chat with strangers yesterday but I hear you when it comes to groups… my work involves a lot of working with large groups but in my personal life I much prefer catch-ups of 4 people max… I tend to sit and listen if I’m in bigger groups…

@penz well done to you too on the OMAD – nothing feels easy for me right now but looking forward to getting back to that zone.
@molij – bravo to you too! Everyone is inspiring me!!

Just finished making my turmeric and ginger shots, next up is homemade GF granola and that’s me set for weekend breakfasts. Normally ZBC on weekdays. 👍👍

    Day 8 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Yesterdays FD was good and its gone 2pm and I haven’t had brunch yet because I can’t decide what I want to eat. Getting hungry but surprisingly not ravenous.

As suspected the people who viewed our house aren’t a serious prospect, I think they are just researching the market before deciding whether to put their house up for sale. We’re considering taking ours off the market until next spring. DH is on waiting lists for a couple of medical procedures and as he should be getting towards the top of the list for a cardiac ablation in December it would be good to get that sorted without the added stress of a home sale/purchase. After the upset of losing a sale during the summer I would like a break from thinking about it and the work of maintaining the house in show home tidiness!

I still can’t decide what to have for brunch so I’m obviously not proper hungry. I have however decided to have a Friday night 🍷with dinner this evening 😉

Whatever you’re doing today, enjoy 🤗

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

I’m on my way round Jean, love coconut and oaty biscuits. Going to Sainsbury’s soon so I’ll look out for frozen chillies,if I have to buy fresh I’ll wait until Tuesday. The sun is out today but it’s gone a little cooler. Hemmy they were showing crockpots and slow cookers on this morning TV show, also soup makers🤮🤮🤮. I’ll look at doing more meals from scratch, not sure what to do though.
