This week I’m up almost another kilogram. I’m up around 2.5 kilos over the last 4 weeks since I started on my meds.
Good evening everyone been fairly warm today 25°C but warming up by weekend. We have a cup match tomorrow and have to give them points start. But they are a league below us.I just checked and the bloke I played yesterday is the second highest in all the league, played 9 won 9. Out of the 6 games I’ve played 3 of them are in the top of the averages in the entire league and the other three are all their teams number 1 so extremely unlucky with the way the draw as gone. I had beef in black bean sauce with rice for my tea, very nice. I’ll have it again.
Hello everyone!
Left early as it was simply too hot.
Hemmy – They are supposed to be very reliable and hubby is definitely seeing them everywhere now that he has an inkling for them.
Nanafixit – Thank you! Fingers crossed for another 1lb loss this week. Glad you had a great break away. And only 2lbs gained is such a good result.
Brads27 – Glad for the two wins! It’s so very hot at the moment. So, I can’t imagine decorating in this heat. But, a little break I’m sure is okay as you have been working very hard on you home.
Jean – Glad to read you’re still having a good time (minus the ex). It’s certainly heating up here. I think the forecast is that it may reach between 38-40 degree Celsius.
Have a great evening all!
Anzac, well done. Not worth the stress to have a job that makes you miserable. I was so fortunate in my career in that I loved going to work every single day. Have a superb holiday. Yay for positive thinking and good health.
Cinque, happy, happy belated 68th! So, I am one year your senior. How did we get this old? Isn’t it weird to have such clear memories that are 50 years old?! I am SO happy to have you back doing 5:2. Let us have all the details. You are a pro.
Neil, great news. So pleased you feel good. Thanks for the info on the farming restrictions. When I was a young backpacker, I stayed for some months on a dairy farm in NZ and learned a lot from that lovely kiwi farmer, Ron. Years later, OH and I returned to visit him when he was a retired man in Manganui. Happy memories.
I’m back to a very happy weight on 6:1. The weather is perfect (English heatwave). A little too much gin though.
Afternoon All…
Sat having a pot of Yorkshire tea and carrot cake.. delicious.
Katie has got to see her dad.
Been to our favourite beach very hot and blue skies, we have got back to apartment and it’s been cloudy all day.
Looking forward to getting home to cool weather, although it looks very hot too.
The boys are golfing each morning and booked their fishing boat for Thursday, Charlotte gets sea sickness so it looks like we won’t be going. It costs a lot of money so possibly for the best.
I can understand why it’s a poplar place it suits most people so large blending into different places. I do prefer smaller and quieter. We have had a good time but awkward with my ex here.
Hemmy..
I must get looking around the charity shops Katie has picked up a lot of holiday clothes although I think the shops in USA are a lot better and cheaper. You seem to do well.
Nana..
Glad you had a lovely time and managed the walking. We have walked miles here. Serious 5.2 when back.
Dave..
Shame on the decorating but time out is good too. Ups and down on bowling you can only do your best.
Enjoy the weather everyone..

Day 17 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
Very late checking in today. I couldn’t even make the bed this morning before I left, because Boo Boo was still fast asleep under the duvet 🙄
Anyway, I think I’m on track for a good week. I clocked up +11,300 steps yesterday. I finished eating well before 8 pm last night, & only had lunch after 1 pm today. Then when I was going around the supermarket on my way home, I had a 20 minute debate with myself as I tried to justify getting a small packet of wine gums to munch in the car. But, I resisted, & had a tiny sugar-free mint instead. Hence I still feel worthy of putting myself on the NSL 😇
@merryapple – Piper, much better! 😅
@stitchincarol – you usually give 12 lessons on a Tuesday?! Is that 12 x 30 mins/1 hour? Seems like a lot. I’d have thought you’d be looking forward to some downtime now anyway after the last few weeks you’ve had. Have you thought about organising/storing your music digitally? Wishing you a hassle-free WFD

Day 17 – Lincoln, Nebraska, USA – WFD
Lovely dinner last night, and ate quite reasonably–took smallish portions, and then didn’t finish the food on my plate. I didn’t, of course, neglect to have some Scotcheroos as they are irresistable, LOL. Sadly, I have nowhere to send them, the way I used to send them to church with DH. Perhaps I’ll take them along to piano students! 😂 I’m a bit apprehensive about water fasting today both because it’s the first in a month, and also because summer activities are rearing their heads and instead of twelve lessons today, I have only four, so the built-in distraction of lessons is horribly minimal. The only answer is RESOLVE and Just Do It!, right? After all, it’s only food, and this WF is non-negotiable.
There. All of our various phrases packed into one; I’ll repeat that as my mantra today. 💪👍
@merryapple I’ve been watching “Under the Vines” & “Brokenwood” & “My Life is Murder” over the past months, so had a real sense of what your driving route looked like–beautiful. And the town of Whangamomana, declaring themselves a republic and with a goat as mayor? Sounds like another delightful series, LOL! One thing I’ll say about the shows, however: I must have on CC because I only understand about 25% of the conversation if I can’t simultaneously read it! Probably I’d be fine if it were all in person, but in the context of a TV show, not so much. 🫨😂
And that’s all who have posted?? Comical that I promised today I’d start chatting with everyone who’s posting…and there’s only one post!
Well, I’ll still end with my usual words: Have a grand one, everyone!

Day 17 NSL
@stitchincarol
Happy Birthday for yesterday Cinque! I hope you had a lovely day
I have resigned (yikes much narkiness) and the relief is palpable. Mr A and I take off for beautiful Magnetic Island on Friday and the current forecast is sunny and 27 every day. It’s freezing in Sydney so that will be lovely
More news soon 🙂
Good morning everyone the sun is out again. As expected lost at bowls but we did get 2 winners unfortunately I wasn’t one of them. But did better than Friday. The green had just been cut so it was lightning fast, the type of green I hate. I was starving last night so crumbled and had toast, my downfall. Must do better today. The decorating as come to a standstill think the club football world cup is the cause. City play tomorrow evening. No speedway this week and wouldn’t you know the weather was perfect, you watch it will rain next Monday.
Morning everyone, I had a lovely holiday with only one bad day of constant rain the rest of the week was lovely and sunny so as the tides were in our favour we had a few picnics on the beach, there was a cool breeze but we managed to sit in a sheltered spot. Lots of people also doing the same as us. I was also pleased to be able to tackle walking up across and down the Beeston Bump which is 208 feet above sea level doesn’t sound very high but is very steep without the aid of my walking poles and also to the coastguard lookout which is also accessed by a steep climb.
Braved the scales the next after getting home and had gained two pounds which wasn’t to much of a shock considering the extra food and alcohol consumption whilst away.
A lovely surprise on Sunday as our daughter came down for the day to see us as her friend was driving down to visit her family and said would you like to come. Lovely to see her back to her old self and she really enjoys living in West Yorkshire and I’m happy for her.
Back to 18:6 1400 calories as from yesterday as upping them by 100 a day seems to have got the weight moving again.
Jean hope you’re still enjoying your holiday.
Hedgehogs sounds as though you had a nice break also.
Hemmy it’s been warm here every day since we got home so hubby wants to have a bbq this afternoon not sure what he’s going to cook yet though.
AS well done on your steady weight loss and good luck sorting out a car.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Day 17 NZ Auckland NFD 69.6kg🔻
Pinky Pie is now Piper. I’m amused by your reactions to PP!! The breeders colour code their puppies so they can tell them apart knowing that they are going to be renamed by the new owners!! She is the sweetest wee character- full of beans like any good Westie!!
Yes @funshipfreddie!! I had a great time!! The owner of the boutique ‘otel invited us to a fabulous evening of 1920s Burlesque. I did manage a fast walk along the Tasman Sea coastal boulevard, attended a lecture at the provincial art gallery, wined and dined and generally had fun!!
@bert1803 I’m pleased you have found a way to enjoy walking!! It will get easier as you get into it. Also not paying out gym fees makes you feel very virtuous!!
I started out walking around flat streets, then added a hilly street when I wasn’t puffing enough and now do a fast walk up the closest volcanic cone, Mangawhau aka Mount Eden. We have lots of cones across the city so I go up a different one every so often. After feeling fitter, I bought a new Nike walking outfit to keep up my enthusiasm!! However, I do need to get back to doing squats and core strength ex’s as well as arm strength exs. I stopped when I broke my finger and haven’t pushed the restart button yet… Hope this commentary helps!! @at does loads of walking. She might have some tips!!
@jaifaim Personally I like to think of you dancing around with the hose!!!
@lilymartin Loving the sheep drenching exercise routine!!
Just do it✅
Afternoon all
Well the weather over the past few days has been the winter that I know and love. Frosty cold morning, followed by cool day, but calm, clear blue skies. I got out for a walk with my Dad on Saturday, Sunday I went for a ride around the harbour. I felt good so I tried a hill climb afterwards. It went really well, so I took my bike to work for the first time in a month yesterday. It went really well. The climb home was the easiest it’s been in ages.
Cinque, the itchiness seems to have eased, but I still have issues sleeping. Well I don’t have issues sleeping, I get to sleep just fine, but I keep waking up every 3 hours or so. I haven’t really attempted a fast day for a while. Now that my exercise seems to be back to normal, I might try fitting in a fast day here and there to see how I go.
Quacka, I take a multivitamin which includes some magnesium, but I can try upping the dose with some magnesium capsules to see if that helps.
Thin, fences need to be no closer than 3 metres to waterways. We’ve had a lot or problems with falling water quality and toxic algal bloom in recent years caused mainly by farming runoff, both animal waste and nitrate fertilizers.
Well weigh-in tomorrow, I haven’t eaten as much this week, so hopefully I can see some movement on the scale.
Have a good one everyone
Hello everyone,
I am feeling the cold, even though some pretty sun is making its way through the trees at the moment. A change from grey grey sky.
Some tricky days led me to comfort eating, which led me to a fast day a few days ago, that did go well, but I think I need another one. Infact I think I need 5:2 back in my life.
I really don’t need to 5:2 when I am eating my four small meals a day, but I haven’t kept to them lately. A bit nervous, it feels like it is harder now I am older (everything is harder ). Talking of which, it was my birthday yesterday, I’m 68.
Well, catch up time!
Thin, a beautiful photo of the lovely cows. (I’m guessing the problem in NZ is that they can erode the banks and wreck ecosystems of indigenous plants, they are issues here too).
So lovely to hear about the bird life on the canal, and the chicken korma, yum yum.
Best wishes for a spurt of good nights of sleep.
Quacka woot with the weights and the therabands! Are your muscles starting to get used to them and are they making you feel good? Cheers for getting through in spite of feeling starving.
Cali, so good to hear from you, and that you and I are restarting 5:2 almost together! I can imagine it will be harder for you too (than last time) since caring for Mr Cali is such a huge job. I hope we can give you all the encouragement and support you need. I am going to do Mondays and Thursdays one week, and Mondays and Wednesday or Friday the other week as I don’t think I can fast and mind my crackerjack granddaughter at the same time, which is what I do every second Thursday.
A big hooray that you got through the recovery from that detached retina. I have daily drops for glaucoma and also drops for dry eyes, I hate putting them in, even though I am so grateful for what they do for me. So sympathy for you having to do it too.
Neil, I am so keen to hear from you, hoping that the change in medication has helped those nasty side effects. Are you able to do fast days or is it impossible? Sending good wishes.
Gday, it sounds like things are going excellently. Yay.
Well I am off to do just three things… But also some shopping and hopefully some cooking to stock the fridge and freezer and make food easy for the week ahead.
Best wishes to everyone. See you on my 5:2 fast on Thursday!
Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx
Another beautiful day .. it looks to be lovely weather all week.
Just arrived back from Leamington Spa .. lunch and charity shopping. Enjoyed fish and chips on a pavement table watching the world go by lol. Very enjoyable.
Chris and I found some good buys.. so we were happy..
It was an early walk so P and I are just going in the garden for a play.
A Sky … I have an old 4×4 black Kia Sportage it is 18yrs old from new. It was my Andrews. I am clinging on to it because its soo very reliable and of course sentimental value… and ideal dog car. ..lolol
Nana .. Are you back home now how was your week away.
Dave … I love toad in the hole..I used to put sausages onions and mushrooms in mine.
H H.. Are you fasting today.. What lovely treats are you baking this week for your family. How is Mum.
Sym… It sounds a good time is being had by all… you will miss them ..but Charlie will be soo thrilled to see you and you him.
Enjoy this beautiful evening everyone. .. but don’t forget. ” A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips. Xxxx
Day 16 – Lincoln, Nebraska, USA – NFD, one more time – 155.8
I’m back! We’re off in twenty minutes to go buy a used lateral file ($200 instead of $900 for new) to bring home, then we’ll go get all my organ music on Wednesday, and then we’ll be well and truly moved. At that point, we’ll finish our bedroom (clothes, bathroom supplies that I’m struggling to “fit” into this house’s storage, shoes…) and the guest bedroom (since we walk by it everytime we go in and out of our bedroom, and need that view to make us happy) and then we’ll tackle the garage…and eventually, we’ll again be able to park our cars in there, LOL!
That 153 of two weeks ago wasn’t seen again, but I’ve been staying at 155-something, so haven’t been troubled by Cruella; there are only so many things I can focus on in any given day, you know? My eating hasn’t been awful at all, but the wine as well as beer as well as cocktails have been abundant most days…and, there too, I’ve just shrugged, figuring moving is stressful enough and the satisfaction of a chilled white wine at the end of the day is reasonable. 🤷🏻♀️
As of tomorrow, however, I’ll be back to responsible behavior with a WF as I return to teaching.
And tomorrow I’ll also start replying to all of your various comments. I’ve missed the chatter, although I’ve read enough in snatched moments to know nothing dramatic has happened.
Tonight is our Father’s Day meal as both sons worked yesterday; we’re having steak, potato salad (that I’m making, not purchased) and an asparagus/fresh pea side dish. I could manage to stick to 800 calories with that, except that DH also requested Scotcheroos (Rice Crispie treats with peanut butter added, and melted chocolate and peanut butter chips on top)…Those will be the calories that undo me, but I’m shrugging and starting in on reasonable tomorrow.
Have a grand one, everyone!
Afternoon All..
A lazy start a wonderful full English breakfast finished with a pot of Yorkshire Tea and a shared carrot cake.. will be back there just a cross the road from apartments..
Around the pool not our thing really… Cole (18) just getting up 1pm 😳it seems to be his sort of holiday doing nothing!!!😂.. waiting for Zack to come back from golf then going to the gym together..
Debating if we can manage a sea fishing day on Thursday….8 hours will we be fed up?? ( we won’t be fishing)
Thought could they do 4 hours and drop us off and they could continue..I don’t think Johnny is having that…
Beautiful brand new boat… thinking…
Very cloudy today but lovely for me. .. very warm.
Dave..
I am missing Charlie it will be licking all over my face… I don’t really do that but he will be so fussy.. I give way for once.
I love coconut.. get Denise to make some buns.

It’s National Vegemite day today – who knew !! They seem to have a ‘day’ for everything !! I am having more hot drinks with Vegemite to drown the hunger dragons on FDs.
@iona72, my DH is currently watching the US Open golf . Scott ( Aussie) was going equal first but I think he has just got in a bunker and bogeyed the hole 😔
@bert1802, walking or exercising in the morning can be a very good strategy. One and done!
I find if I leave it til later in the day then I run out of ‘day’! By 4pm I have all the excuses in the world to not exercise/walk and ‘plan’ to do it tomorrow…..🤔
@merryapple, you certainly have some wonderful trips. ‘Pinky Pie ?? A dog psychologist might be needed for poor PP!!
Speaking of morning walks, the sun has just come up, 7.10 am, and I am of to get my walk in , walking behind a mob of sheep to bring them up to the yards ,a good way to exercise, for drenching ( taking their medicine ) – a good way for my DH to exercises!!
Wrangling 1500 young sheep who would rather be frolicking in the paddock than having medicine squirted in their mouths. It doesn’t hurt them at all, it is just that they can be reluctant – think trying to give an active 3 year old some medicine !!😲 1500 times !!

Evening All.
All well here…we are down to 6 now in one apartment the others have flown home. So it’s very quiet.
With it being father’s days everyone meeting my ex or Jacqui’s dad..so I am home alone. I am glad really, it’s made me realise I won’t go on holiday on my own. It doesn’t feel very nice, I would rather be with my boy.
Talking of teens they are very challenging, every time I go to the loo I tidy the bathroom and bring down wet towels!! It will be a different carry on when we get home I like my bathroom spotless!!
Hemmy..
Afternoon tea at the orangery sounds really lovely, Pam will be chuffed I am sure. Your garden sounds lovely.
AutumnSky..
Washer and car sounds expensive…
Dave..
Toad in the hole and coconut buns.. a few calories…enjoy your trip out to bowling..
Hedgehog..
You are still looking for a car.. I won’t like buying big purchases I like having second opinions. Nice to have a bbq…
Jean x
Evening!
AS- our boys laugh at us wanting to look at car locally, they either go miles to look or get cars delivered , a different world! Expensive time for you with car & washing machine both packing up… don’t envy you the grumpy teens! Been there…
Jean- hope your holiday is still going well?
Dave- enjoy your pie & coconut buns, is Denise feeling better if she’s cooking, she’s had a spell of not being able to hasn’t she? Hopefully her legs will improve more before your break…What will you do for weight loss now?
Hemmy- what have you been up to today, have you been busy in the garden? Hope your jacket potato & prawns was good…
Nana- have you had a good weekend?
Yesterday was busy, did some tidying & cleaning, & made a pud for today which took ages- a chocolate caramel tart. The pastry case was quite iffy but it tasted really good…the boys came for a BBQ today, in good spirits, I relaxed the keto, & have eaten more than I have been, so tomorrow will be a FD!
Good afternoon everyone, Denise is making a pie so looking forward to that, she bought some coconut as well so hoping she makes some coconut buns 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋. All calorie free🤥🤥🤥. It will be another 8-0 defeat tomorrow just wish I could get into double figures. But it’s no big deal. Still over 5 weeks to our holiday so hope Denise is fit.
Day 15 – USA/GA – FD – 241 lbs.
OK, I behaved horribly yesterday. I feasted and feasted. It was completely psychological, knowing I have to fast and drink that awful prep liquid tonight. No, I don’t feel happy that I did it, but here we are. Three pounds heavier over last Sunday morning. With all the stresses going on in life, I just need to remember that I need not punish my body with bad eating to deal with it. I’ll quickly set myself on the proper pathway this week.

Washing machine has decided to stop mid cycle. However, it has been making a lot of noise when spinning for a while. So there were indicators before it broke down. We have a scheduled appointment for 24th of June. So, to the launderette we will go which usually costs about £15 everytime.
Brads27 – Fingers crossed for your team tomorrow. It must be nice to get together at the end of the season and simply enjoy the company of fellow players.
Hemmy – Hubby found a Kia he likes and we decided not to view it, as it was a 2 hour journey away. Unfortunately, you get more bang for your buck the further out you go. As we like that type of vehicle, we will be looking slightly closer to home, no more than an hour away.
Hope you all are enjoying the morning wherever you are!

Neil, I was interested to read what you wrote – at what distance from the rivers and streams must the cows be fenced off? That seems another huge burden to place on farmers; building and maintaining fencing – and providing water. Here, that might be suggested from a farm biosecurity aspect if there were issues with high parasite burdens, for example but, from a public health perspective, cows would be the least of the health concerns considering the canals were designed and built specifically to transport commercial boats pulled by livestock.
Humans pose a greater threat especially those boaters that we call ‘constant moorers’ that don’t look after our canals (they’re officially ‘constant cruisers’ required to move every 14 days like us). We know that they don’t take their waste to designated facilities because they never move their boats off the mooring. Not to mention the pesky duck and swan feeders chucking whole loaves of sliced bread into the canal.
I’d like to fence off the illegal migrant tent camps that are increasing in size and number at alarming rates in the wooded areas adjacent to our canals. Three drunken Eastern European men thought it would be OK to take a whiz in the canal in broad daylight right in front of our boat (not to mention a gaggle of young children on half-term break) right in the centre of a town. I can only imagine what they do with their other waste products. Since it’s costing the tax payer an eye-watering £1 billion per month to house these illegals in hotels, it’s hard to reconcile.
Quacka, that’s cool that you did a whole workout using theraband. Yes, great for the boat as they roll up small. I hope you and OH have fully recovered from your flight ordeal and you have some good FDs this week.
GDSA, great to be feeling fit, healthy and strong.
FD for me. Hairy Bikers’ leftover chicken korma from last Sunday. We’re in for some sunny days in the high twenties. It doesn’t get dark until 10pm.

Been super busy lately, which has meant all out of sync with meal times – which I have realised doesn’t work too well for me.
Also had issues with water supply to the house and a blocked drain, just to keep us on our toes.
Hoping for a better week coming up and more routine.

Day 14…… Florida……..NFD
My last couple days have been a bit busier than usual and I had to make some changes.
The changes are not major but more like small adjustments to make life a bit easier for me. I was really struggling to get my walk in daily. Pretty much, I hated it and nothing I did helped. I spent majority of the time pushing myself and telling myself I could do it…. etc., then I’d finish and complain to the hubby.
Last week, I came home and he said he did some research and said why don’t you try walking in the morning before your day starts……. Well, I really had nothing to lose, so I started walking in the morning…… The conclusion, morning walks are so much better.
First, I don’t have to push myself or tell myself, I can do it. I cut 2 min of my mile time plus, I’m not hating it but I’m not quite liking yet. Progress!
@funshipfreddie…..I have a tracker that tracks steps/miles, heart rate, difficulty….. etc.
I also do listen to music/podcast etc. I started walking not only for my health but my mental health especially. I’ve made some changes and it seems to be getting better.
Conclusion, in my own mind. Is I was thinking this was what it had to be set in stone so to speak but I’m coming to the realization that it’s fluid and I can adjust it to my specific needs and wants. The same way this life style works…. It’s not set in stone, it’s fluid and allows each one of us to adjust it to our own individual wants and needs.
Today is an NFD for me…..I feel good today
Have a great day
USA. Day 14. FD
Good day, everyone! I broke down and weighed myself and Yay! I am down 2 lbs. The trick for me is to make sure I am not losing and gaining the same two pounds over and over again.
Hope every is having a great weekend!
Day 14 – USA/GA – NFD – 239 lbs.
Meh. No real change over last Saturday, but overall is a 2 lb. drop over last week — I just have to stay mindful and I think OMAD, especially on most NFDs at work, will be helpful.
The score on Monday would have been slightly better because our best player is actually captain of the team that beat us but in their A team which is slightly better than the team that beat us. But he’s in a competition in the Isle of Man .So I imagine it will be pretty similar.I have beaten 3 of their players away from their green, but on it I never get many, never got to double figures. They are a great bunch of lads(all in there 70/80s)😁 but not bigheaded. They all say hello as soon as they see us. I have been trying the AI on the weight loss app on phone but didn’t think it was working so I got weighed today and have gained 2.4lbs. So turned the AI off. Will have to rethink the strategy.SKY I did make toad in the hole, very nice it was but probably to many calories, difficult to say how many so won’t do it again. The speedway was good last night our two Aces riders finished first and third and it’s another GP tonight at our track, that have taken over the one that should have been at Cardiff for some reason so not complaining. I’ve been to three gp’s at Cardiff I reckon that’s where I got my tinnitus from, the speakers were way too loud. Looks like you having a great time Jean and Nana and HH you have had a good holiday, still waiting for mine. We have a bowling day out in a fortnight at the Rose and Bowl,18 of us going, not a many as last time 9 men and women, do we will have some nibbles then play bowls and the odd pint then have a three course carvery at night.
Day 14 – Ireland – NFD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽♀️ 🌾
156.3lbs
Morning all and lovely to see you all too. I’m going to aim to keep my daily posting habit.
Well done on the DASH diet @ccco!
Enjoy your road trip @merryapple and I agree with @funshipfreddie – how awfully cruel it is to name a dog with a name like Pinky Pie!!! Poor little pet 🐶
@funshipfreddie I’m listening to a great dance 🕺 playlist here as I do housework – the only way for me! And it’s too wet there today to hike, cycle or garden. Are you still line dancing?
🕺🧽 🧹 🧼🕺
Happy Saturday everyone!

Day 14 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
@merryapple – I hope you enjoyed your road trip. ‘Pinky Pie’ – that’s just plain cruel 😅 And I wouldn’t mind swapping our current mayor for that goat. Nice number! Looks like you’re at your June goal already 🎯
@ccco – sounds like a plan! Although, if you don’t feel just a bit deprived on a FD, then maybe you’re doing something wrong. Check how long you’re going without eating, & see if you can improve on that. And if you know you’re eating out of boredom, well there are lots of things that can relieve boredom! Listening to great music works for me. I think I’m going to leave myself off the NSL on fast days too. It kind of goes without saying really; if I’m on a fast day, then I’m not going to be snacking.
Top Tip from Dr Jason Fung – “after fasting, pretend it never happened. Eat normally, as if you had never fasted”.
Have a good weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

NSL – Day 14 🚫🍿
@funshipfreddie
Brads27 – That was a harsh result. But you called it. What do you think the score will be on Monday?
Morning all!
Raining this morning and much cooler.
Brads27 – How did your meal go yesterday? Did you make Toad in the hole in the end? Thank you for your positivity. It will be slow and I suspect some ups and downs.😊
Hedgehogs – Thank you! I can see that my physique is actually changing, it may not show on the scales, but I can see it in my clothes and how they hang on my frame. My kids are teenagers. The grumpy, choose their time to be happy, why can’t I do… teenagers.😁
Hemmy – Thank you for the kind words! This weekend I am finishing up with some work and then looking at a car with hubby. We have a small budget and just need a run around for him to get to school and back. The one he drives needs too much work done before the MOT comes around.
Have a great one today!
Day 14 NZ NFD New Plymouth ???
We’re on a Thelma and Louise road trip to pick up a Westie puppy💝 called Pinky Pie. Sadly not for me but my friend, Anna, who wants to change her name!! I’m also doing a wee bit of art gallery business. There are serious road closures/repairs going on so what used to be a 4 hr coastal trip took us 7hrs. The new route takes us inland on the Forgotten Highway through wild high sided gorges to a 3 building (pub, post office, gas station) settlement called Whangamomana in the middle of nowhere. They have declared themselves a republic and elected a goat as the mayor!!!
Thank you @funshipfreddie!!! I was zipping around getting packed… I wonder about my ability to to record numbers or is is my phone doing my thinking for me🤔
Hey @jaifaim Great to see you check in!!
Yeah @lilymartin!! Great to see you getting results!! I dropped my BMR in the 80s by doing one of those awful liquid powder diets into starvation mode, like you must have if you were eating off a side plate!! Thank goodness we have better knowledge of things like insulin now… and youtube clips by people like Dr Fung.
Gotta go to meet ms pinky pie!!
Hello everyone!
Jean- sounds like you’re having a lovely holiday, nice to meet up with your cousin…how much longer are you there?
Dave- your bowls sounds very mixed, hard when you play a really good team but good if you all have a laugh…
Hemmy- the afternoon tea sounds lovely, nice to get dressed up sometimes! Sounds like you’re enjoying your garden, it’s been good weather for the plants with lots of sun but rain too…good you still have an NHS dentist, ours are all private now & I pay monthly.
AS- well done with the pound off, that’s good & consistent! How old are your son & daughter? (but you don’t have to say if you want to keep things private)
Nana- hope you had a lovely break & a safe journey home…
We had a lovely break, a bit wet when we got to the island so had a damp walk round a nature reserve & beach, but dried up & has been very hot. The place was lovely, right beside the river so great views, beautiful sunsets…Hubby wanted to eat out so couldn’t stick to keto, had salads though & too full for desserts, we did have chocolate though! Fasting today to try & undo some damage, picked Xena up, poor dog was so hot in the car because she gets herself so excited but she survived!
Have a good weekend 🥰
Hemmy I am going to make Toad in the hole, not done it before. It’s dray and sunny so the Speedway GP should be ok tonight at least. It’s the Canadian GP this week in F1.Struggling to get anyone round to look at the roof so don’t know what to do next. Lost at bowls as expected team lost 8-0.
USA Day 13. FD
Good morning, everyone (for those of us who are still in a morning). Good day to everyone else.
Phew, I have been way too busy lately. I am about to go out for my walk before the heat becomes too intense.
I would join the NSL but I really can’t. One of the ways I have been trying to cut calories is to make my main meal one that I can eat a piece of at different time of day. This really cuts the calories, even the food I eat this way looks quite odd! LOL This morning I have a glass of orange juice and one corn on the cob. Later, I might eat some soap. The meat or fish would come at lunch time. Dessert might be my mid-afternoon snack. If the calories permit, then late afternoon I might eat one item more. I am still on the DASH diet, which is going well. This is me trying to think out of the box. Now, I just need to see where this takes me. By carefully measuring everything, my food choices can be anything I want. Hopefully, this was help me to not feel deprived. So far, I am never hungy. My biggest problem is the evening where I will either stress eat or eat out of boredom. I am usually too tired to do much at that hour, so I am working on a way to control this. 👍🏻
@lilymartin, it looks like you have a grasp on your situation. I wish you lots of luck.
@jaifaim, I agree with you about how a change of mind can change from day to day. Sometimes to me it also seems like minute to minute. Good luck!
@funshipfreddie, you are so right. Everyone is different, which is why we just need to see what works for us.
It’s already hot but out for my walk I go. 🤗
Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx
Its a beautiful day.. Earlier walk while cooler .. then gave old Pip a lovely cool showering and Fox poo shampoo. He hadn’t rolled but I used it anyway. lol So a very cool clean boy now .lol
Its Hunters. chicken this evening with a small jacket potato and some green beans. I will cook two then have the other one .tomorrow with Salad cold
I am soo thrilled with my garden this year it s a blaze of colour all blending together I keep going looking at it lol. Will sit out and read later. .We have some wood pigeons cooing their little hearts out. Bliss .lol
A Sky.. Very well done on your loss this week .. In my opinion its best to lose gradually as very large losses tend to go straight back on. .. Gold star for you. .
Do you have any plans for the weekend or just chilling out?
Dave.. Lots going on with sporting stuff for you… Not sure if its F! this weekend will have to check.
Any news re the roof. What for tea at yours?
I hope all the away peeps are having a wonderful day.

Day 13 – USA/GA – NFD – 238 lbs.
Next FD will be Sunday. It’s actually prep day for a procedure, but I think even so, I’ll keep it under 800 for the day.
