  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Afternoon all

Quacka, one of my wife’s friends is originally from the Maldives. I see they filmed one of the Star Wars movies there. I hope you have good weather and a good time.

I’ve been feeling really exhausted the last couple of days, and my wife has been complaining that she’s getting cold/flu symptoms and feeling exhausted as well. I hope we’re not coming down with something.

Weigh-in tomorrow so I’ll check in then

    Day 29 NZ NFD 69.3kg 🏃🏼‍♀️

I have been using my old cookbook collection to hunt out and make simple recipes like Skirlie – toasted steel cut oats, onions, herbs and anything green, an auld Scottish recipe not dissimilar to a risotto, and Finnish sourdough rye bread. They are ‘heavy’ meals which attract a lot of water but keep you full for a very long time. My weight went up a kg to 71.1 to then down to 69.3 in a couple of days!! I have also been eating a big fresh salad before cooking a protein, like fish or venison etc. This is stopping me grazing while cooking!!
Interesting article, @funshipfreddie about walking. I knew that food calories have a 1,000 noughts knocked off to make the numbers more manageable (like the peso in Peru!). If I use an easy equation from the article… 1 mile walking = 100 cals used up, 1.6km = 100 cals, so on Saturday I burned about 300 cals on a 5kg walk. Not to be sniffed at in conjunction with FDs (no matter how marginal my 500 cals are!!)
Gambling!! You’re on the road to 🔥 and Boo Boo will want your guts for garters!!😾
I’m very impressed you have read a book in Spanish and understood it!!
@lilymartin Great post!! I’m picturing your farm safe and your pile of recipe books!! When you find a recipe you haven’t used in a while it’s like meeting an old friend!! I definitely relate to your DH’s remark about procrastibaking!!!🤣
@brightonbelle Hang in there!! Keep going with your good habits and your weight will🔻
@excelsior12309 Now I understand why your new cats are outside garage cats!! That’s crazy!! Soya bean derived electrical insulation!! I guess the old rubber insulation perishes too… Your orchids sound gorgeous!! And congrats on bringing your fasting glucose down. It will be even better when you get to ground zero!!
@ccco I loved hearing about your grandchildren helping you with your vegetable patch!! Yes, take a break and refocus with renewed energy!!
@stitchincarol Your new house sounds like it has everything you wanted. How fabulous!! I don’t envy the sort out!! And congrats on being on the downward slope!!
@northgeorgia I don’t think losing is ever easy if you have a disposition to put on weight. But is being consistent your problem? A wee while ago you were cooking your own food. That’s probably a good place to start when you refocus for the new month. And perhaps allow yourself a day or two only per week of that great Southern cooking until you get your weekly routine going?? One thing for sure is your energy intake is exceeding your energy output so you need to limit the calorie dense foods in order to reverse the trend… If you have done this once, you can do it again!! Remember, we have all been there!!!
@iona72 Good you’re checking in!! The new month is when we refocus!!
Yeah!! @daffodil2010 Go you!! You’re onto it!!
@at I see from the sheet you’re ending the month with a flurry!!💪
@molij, @jaifaim, @penz, @anicecupoftea and @icystorm A shout out to all of you for the month of May restart!!

    Evening!
Lots of posts, I only missed one day!
Hemmy- well done getting your bench done, enjoy your shopping day… thinking about me with my baking & the scones, you made me laugh as those & pastry are the only things I can’t bake!
Jean- those proms sound so excessive! Expensive enough to hire the outfits let alone meals & nights away! Hope your FDs have gone okay…
Dave- good job you do the bowling for exercise as Chloe doesn’t like walking! Unlucky with the bowling, how do they decide who plays who?
Nana- I’m sure you’ll soon have the holiday pounds gone…nice to have the bike to get out on. How’s hubby’s back, is it still bad?
Autumn sky- well done getting into the 16:8! A husky would give you plenty of exercise 😂 We have a small but nutty lab, she loves her long walks!
Been beautiful here, got lots done in the garden, runner beans planted out, potatoes all topped up, they’re growing well, watering done. Fasting today & tomorrow…Hemmy-, I’ll stick with the longer fast until I get to my goal! Hopefully soon 🤞

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

Hi Annette, good to hear you enjoyed Italy, I would love to go back again.
I was doing ok in April – until Easter and then with one thing and another I’ve put a few pounds back on. If I could lose another 5 pounds I would be at goal, delighted and would probably drop another dress size. It sounds so easy……..
There is an active community in the “Astro April” thread, perhaps that might be something you fancy participating in?

Well I think the heat today certainly helped. It was very hot and I think this might just be a sign of a hot summer.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Just do 800 on fast days, And don’t go mad on non fast days. If you like water your half way there,I can’t stand water. Can have it on holiday in a hot country.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Afternoon everyone!

It was a productive day today. Managed to get a few wins in for the day. Fasted from 19:00 yesterday evening to 14:00 today, slightly later as my meeting ran over. Had a homemade chicken wrap, apple and tangerine, all washed down with lots of water. This evening will be chicken stir fry with rice noodles and more veggies.

HI Brads27 – I am currently doing the 16:8 for now, as I need to get my eating under control. So far, I have not over eaten since I have been doing the 16:8, but in a few weeks, I will move to the 5:2, and hopefully, I will be able to reduce the calories down very low on the 2 days of fasting.

    Fingers crossed!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

I checked Jean and I ended up playing their best player again, lost 21-9. On a losing run at the moment. We play the top team on Wednesday who have been slaughtering everyone so not looking good🤪. Can only try my best. Sausage egg and bacon for tea.

    Day 28

    Have a grand one, everyone!

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Afternoon everyone, back after a lovely week away on the Norfolk Coast. Weighed myself Saturday morning and I’d gained two pounds.
A lovely day here and OH and I are sitting in the garden, only thing spoiling it is some neighbours a few doors down have got workmen in having outside work done which involves drilling up concrete which does tend to spoil the enjoyment slightly. Hopefully it won’t be a week long job as the weather forecast for this week is good.
Geraldine will be getting a few outings this week.
Haven’t caught up with all the posts from last week but see that we have a new person on here and wanted to say hello to AutumnSky.Were a friendly albeit small bunch on here, and it’s nice to be able to come on here and not be judged if you have gained weight. I had good success with 5:2 back in 2017 losing two and a half stones however,
i stopped being as careful as i should have and sadly regained almost all of it. This time around i am doing the 18:6 method allowing myself 1300 calories daily which works for me but the weight loss is much slower usually a half a pound a week. Geraldine is my power assisted tricycle by the way. OH and I enjoy cycling along the guided busway very near to where we live ,however, due to balance issues I had to give up a traditional bicycle but at least we’re both still able to carry on now.
Enjoy the test of your day everyone.

    Afternoon All..
Beautiful weather here.. must cut the grass later.
Second fast day, 600 ish calories yesterday…

Walked in the park this morning Charlie really gets excited to go..lots of sniffs to keep him busy.

Took my hairdryer to get exchanged it was giving up I have only had it 7 months.. they were very nice about it.

    Steve….
Looks as if you are doing well, water too…it’s getting your mind set, I think if you can do a month or two it gets so much easier.. I really miss it on holiday when I don’t fast.
I used to have a Fitbit but Charlie has one now. Mine broke I think I have had 5… I was regularly doing between 18,000 and 23,000 steps , so really there was no point, I walk the same each day.
Strange when I first got one I struggled to get to 5,000, I thought it was impossible and how do people get to 10,000.

    Dave..
Who will you play today hoping you get an easy player. We are doing a knock out in the club again, I have put my name down but I don’t like it. I did manage to get to the semi’s last year, I don’t like everyone watching..

    Day 28 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 242 lbs. It hasn’t been a good April for me either. I have to figure out why NFDs on Fridays and Saturdays don’t seem to affect me much, but Sundays do. What am I doing on Sundays that is ruining my week?

I’m just curious — are there other people were 5:2 worked great the first few years, and then it just stopped? Not blaming the method; I’m just wondering what happens where on the front end, the concept is not to worry about calorie counting on NFDs or even types of foods, but then we need to be concerned about TDEE as we lose weight, which is basically calorie counting. I’m 10 lbs heavier over this time last year. I could do that without 5:2, so I’m obviously going wrong somewhere.

It’s a public holiday again here today, as yesterday’s Freedom Day fell on a Sunday. And apparently I’m going to a braai. Two consecutive days of socialising?! The horror 😱 But I couldn’t come up with an excuse quickly enough to wriggle out of it, so, phooey 🥴 It’s a lovely, sunny day again, & it’s

  • Very Low calorie Soups

Honestly, if you’re looking for very-low-calorie soups that still feel hearty and traditional, you should definitely check out some ideas from Scottish Recipes https://scottish-recipes.com/ They have loads of authentic soups that naturally lean lighter, like Cullen Skink (if you go easy on the cream!) or a simple Cock-a-Leekie Soup — which is just chicken, leeks, and prunes, super filling but not heavy at all.

You can easily tweak most of the recipes to cut down calories even more, like using lean chicken breast, skipping butter, and loading up on extra veg. Plus, Scottish soups are amazing at making simple, wholesome ingredients taste properly comforting without needing tons of fat or fancy stuff. Highly recommend giving it a browse if you’re wanting to stay on track but still eat something that feels homemade and satisfying. 🍲

Anyone else got a favourite low-calorie Scottish soup?

  • My weight loss tracker : 800 kcal 4:3 or 5:2 depend on mood

The 4:3 plan with 800 kcal fasting days sounds really smart, especially since you’ve got a “Plan B” like 5:2 for weeks that feel tougher. That kind of flexibility will really help you stay consistent without burning out.

  • Very Low blood pressure

Hey, I totally get where you’re coming from — that sounds really tough. 😟 I’ve had a similar experience when my blood pressure dipped too low, especially during strict dieting phases. Nighttime can be tricky because you’re lying flat, and if your blood sugar or blood pressure drops too much, it can absolutely trigger dizziness and palpitations.

Eating a little later can definitely help stabilize things overnight. A light, balanced snack about 30–60 minutes before bed could make a big difference. Something like a small piece of whole grain toast with peanut butter, a handful of nuts, or even some Greek yogurt can help keep your blood sugar and pressure from crashing without overloading your system.

Also, staying hydrated is huge for blood pressure — sometimes just a little dehydration can make nighttime symptoms much worse. Maybe try a small glass of water before bed if it feels okay for you.

Of course, everyone’s body is different, so it’s definitely worth checking in with your doctor if it keeps happening. You deserve to feel safe and rested at night. Sending you lots of good vibes — hope it gets easier for you soon! 💛

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Good Morning everyone

It’s Monday FD for me today and I’m happy to be doing it! For the first time ever I managed to stay stable with my weight after a week (and a bit) of holidays and not fasting. So today I actually feel like I’m fasting to move forward instead of the usual which is to undo the bad week(end) previously.

A quick post this morning as I have lots of work to catch up on. Thin, our holiday is in 3 weeks time and we are going to the Maldives with a 2 night stopover in Singapore. I’m very excited and looking forward to it.

Have a great day everyone xx

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Morning all

What a difference a bit of sunny weather makes. After the dismal Easter weekend, the weather for the whole ANZAC weekend was sunny and ranged from 18 to 20 degrees. I got out for a big ride on Friday, went for a walk and a cuppa with my dad, son and brother on Saturday, then got some gardening and another ride done yesterday. I’m feeling a lot happier than I was.

Thin, being away from pub food temptation is always good. After all our talk about takeaways, I actually got fish and chips on Thursday night because we had to rush to do our groceries after I finished work (shops being shut on Friday for ANZAC day). It was ridiculously expensive at $41 for 4 of us, and very unsatisfying.

ANzac, I’m glad to hear the job is going well, and I hope you both have a great time on your trip to Magnetic Island

Ljoyce, we have the opposite problem with our cat. She was a big cat and healthy at 6 kilos. But recently she has been dropping quite a bit of weight.

Hi Cinque, things were better this week, hopefully that shows on the scales in a couple of days. I hope things are going well with you.

    Have a great one everyone.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Your doing well, Just be very careful what you eat on non fast days. Weather is looking good for tomorrow so don’t work too hard. Watched the football so ready for the cup final. City didn’t sell all their tickets but they didn’t have a clue why on there telly. The main reason was that if it went to extra time they wouldn’t have a train to get home.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

I think having a target, even one like this, is great for me. It helps me to move. You are doing super with your bowling and walks, something like this will help to keep me consistent with movement.😀

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

We had a lovely time in Italy and I have the scales and tape measure to prove it. I decided to evict a few plants from their pots into the garden borders and then could barely walk for a week. Long story short, I have joined a gym to get a stronger back and hopefully prevent me from becoming a frail old lady. I am having 2 meals a day and something light in the evening.

Hopefully I will have some positive news to report in the coming weeks. My plan is to be slimmer by July.

    How is everyone getting on?

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

10k is just a figure pulled out of the air, dosent mean anything.A really brisk 3k is of much more value. They told us this at MoreLife. The speed Chloe walks I would have to do 50000 steps to be any good😁.I do plenty of steps bowling then add on walks with Chloe and I do a few steps each day. They show up on my watch but I don’t really pay attention.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

That is a great amount of movement each day, Brads27!
I think I might go back to aiming for between 10k and 15k steps a day.
Used to do that almost every day, but since I changed jobs, I am sitting around for the majority of the day.

You should see her she’s roaching or that’s what they call it on Facebook. It’s where they are on their back with their legs in the air.Nana calls it tart mode😀. Been out with her twice today so will take her again about 9pm. She’s lay half in the living room and half in the kitchen. So you have to stride over her to get in the kitchen 😁. It’s been a beautiful day today I enjoy walking with Chloe when she walks by my side but half the time I have to drag her around.I suppose she was trained to walk behind when they were on the track.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Afternoon one and all!

Fasted until 12:30 today and broke it with a large bowl of mixed veggies with marinated tofu pieces (from Sainsbury’s) sweet corn and avocado. Have already had about 2L of water today so feeling okay. Will have cod and potatoes this evening with the family. Started work at around 06:30 this morning, and have not moved since then. Will do a workout this afternoon to get my body moving.

Brads27 – Your Chloe is living her best life!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

    Hemmy..
I am reading Val Wood a local lady.. all around Hull and East Yorkshire..1880 ish.. this one starts in Hull then goes across America and gold rush and the start of the towns.. travels and then back to Hull. Hard finding them, I have read about a dozen at the moment..

Lazy day for me, veggies got Charlie to cook, changed the bed and washing out..

These proms are so expensive.. his tuxedo was £400 to hire, Katie bought her flowers, a restaurant meal (the boys usually pay for.)
They have now hired two houses on the beach they have taken over. Girls in one, the boys in the other, for two nights.. with chaperones!! Two buses to take them and back.
They peal money out as if it’s worth nothing…

Enjoy your garden day… and your garden centre tomorrow and lunch..

    Dave..
Our players at boules are getting on.. Don 92 and Dorothy 83, few around 70.. it definitely must keep us fit..
I shall be playing Tuesday..enjoy your chicken meal..

Good morning everyone, Autumn I have had three dogs since I got married,a collie,a German shepherd and now a greyhound. All lovely dogs, the German shepherd was special but Chloe my greyhound is the most loving dog I’ve ever had, very loyal and greyhounds need very little exercise they are all couch potatoes. She could easily sleep 23 hours a day. She as just jumped up on the sofa next to me. I’ll take her out now to get us both moving. I’ll be playing bowls 4 days this week all league games. So I only have one meal on these days. It must be good exercise because three of them are 82 years old another 4 are mid to late 70s, on the Wednesday team I’m the youngest. And second youngest on Monday.Roast chicken for tea tonight so Chloe will be around the kitchen once it’s cooking. She as Sunday dinner with us every week all the vegetables as well. Then sleeps it off😁.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

The sun is up and sky is blue already .. the garden is calling. lol

Earlier walk then get my clothes sorted for tomorrows lunch and shop. I will want to be in the garden though lolol not trailing around shops.

Today no cooking as such I have my other Tesco pasta. Eating lots of fruit now which is good as I am lacking in vegetable eating. Maybe make up a veggie soup this week. I am not finding much taste in salad or veg at the moment but loving fruit and nuts.

13 weeks 5 days no Alc

A S … Some times its best to keep your dieting to yourself .. In the past i have found it so much pressure telling others and feeling guilty whatever I ate. lol Just go at your own pace and doing what’s best for you.
This is just a way of life for me now and I have managed to keep a stable weight for a long time .

Dave.. I think that is the answer to just stay at your current weight for a while then go again for another loss. Mixing it up a bit keeps it interesting with food.
How is Denise is she pain free now.

H H .. Hope you are enjoying the weekend. 3 hrs is a long walk best not to over do it if you are not sure. It s a good Idea to keep the good photos around it give s you a goal to achieve.

Sym .. Americans really know how todo those proms… lovely to keep pics. What book are you reading.. I have just received another 2 Agatha Raisin books from my neighbour. enjoy your day in the sunshine..

Happy relaxing Sunday everyone.. “Sundays are for sipping coffee, reading a great book, and enjoying the moment.” Xxxx

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

LJ, what a relief not to have that pressure on the Chocolate Holiday. Perhaps, you’ll be able to make the absence of exchanging eggs a new tradition – it’s a perfect opportunity. I bet everyone would be secretly relieved.

Re: eating disorders/control, I understand your point about this providing a child with a level of control over parents (interesting how you and your sister dealt with it in different ways). I was talking more of decades of adulthood disorder – you’re in control of your own destiny by then – it really goes to show how ingrained those childhood memories and behaviours become and how strongly they shape us.

FD for me again. I’ve done 5:2 for three weeks now. I’m in a pattern of nudging the trigger weight, then back down to the comfort zone. I think I’ll fare better now that we’re back in the countryside, fewer pubs and no grocery stores.

Hoping you and your feline friend have a good week on restricted calories.

    USA. Day 26. NFD

I have been so incredibly busy the last few days. I am usually fairly busy this time of year, as a lot of my Winter programs have closing luncheons, etc. and my Spring/Summer programs begin with opening day lunches. I also decided to learn MahJongg, so I just started those classes this week. I also decided that in addition to my regular gardening, my grandchildren and I would grow vegetables together. They have begun to grow, so next week, we will plant them in the ground. They are 3 and 6 years old and they love this. When we harvest our crops LOL, I think they will even love more. Anyway, all of the sudden my life is about food but I am trying to be careful.

Stitchincarol, it sounds like you and your husband are already enjoying your new house and how nice that you can even walk to a restaurant from your home. I have to drive to most places. It all sounds so special.

Lilymartin, I am not terribly fond of mice either, so I had a handyman put a trap on the outside vent where I knew they were coming in every Fall. Now, no more mice! Yay! However, there is another creature I like even less! Bats! One evening I sat down to watch TV while I was zooming with my sister and this thing came flying right at me. I closed all the doors to every room in the hope that it would be trapped in one of them. My intention was to open those doors after several days and the bat would be dead. Turns out it wasn’t in one of those rooms and came out after me again. I got my neighbor to help me catch it with a squash racket! We ended that bat. I like nature but not inside my house!!

Anyway, I probably won’t be fasting until Monday. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.🤗

    Hi Brads27,

I don’t have any pets at the moment. We are thinking about a Jack Russell or larger dog like a Husky. However, I know the Husky will need someone to match their energy and I am not sure if a Husky will be the right fit.

Currently fasting until lunch time tomorrow. It was a good day, good filling food. Felt full for most of the day. Family watching the fight with friends, so lots of food around our home. Have to stay well away from the kitchen, which has all manner of things.

I like to however eat 1100 NOT 800 calories a day. I want to consume 9% protein, 44% fat, and 47% carbohydrates. Can this be done on 1100 eating 2 or 2 1/2 meals a day and still get results in fat lose? I am female and in my 60’s and 5’3″ and over weight. Thank you please advise me. TY

Hemmy I had chilli and chips but also had a sandwich for lunch so I’m well over my limit to lose weight. But still ok not to put anything on.My mate who lives in Edale derby me a mobile phone. It’s a big thing 3/4 of an inch thick and only needs charging every 3 or 4 days. The camera is 108 mega pixel so very good. It’s got an underwater camera and a camera mode that will take pictures in complete darkness without a flash.I will try the night light tonight and see how it looks. Took Chloe out 3 times already today so one more to go tonight. Roast chicken tomorrow so Chloe will be roaming around the kitchen.

    Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx

It s a mild but dull day here where is the sunshine. lol.

I am having a lazy weekend.. Yesterday I got the bench repainted… so its looking smart again.. hopefully another year of life lol.. Ohh I do soo hate getting new things I love old comfortable and tested like old friends lol

I have a Tesco ready meal this evening so no cooking I will just add a bit of fresh broccoli .. I eat loads of it.. my favourite veg and its good for you.

A bit naughty I know and my friend Mary Ann would tell me off as I picked a massive bunch of cowslips this morning over the fields.. They look so very vibrant in my window on this dull ole day.

Welcome to our corner A S… It really helps chatting and getting ideas and tips with like minded people who understand and share the ups and downs along the way. Its really helps to check in daily.

Nana .. How is your weekend.

Dave.. What are you cooking up in your kitchen today.

H H .. Did you see the bluebells with Mum… Are you taking it easy this weekend after your brilliant loss this week.
I am reading a book about a lady that goes to Greece and opens a tea shop and makes all different types of scones.. savoury and sweet .. I thought of you lol.

Sym..Probably a good idea to just enjoy this week of celebrations and start again next week .

Enjoy your afternoon everyone. Its Pips garden time now and pulling up a few weeds for me. .

The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy. It’s all that matters really.

Day 26 – Rural Nebraska, USA – CD

Yesterday was totally fun. Fun, and joyous, and hard work…and did I say fun?? We grabbed stuff to move that we’ll never miss over the next month (my floor-length and winter dresses, some plastic bins from our storage closet in the basement, random bags from my sewing room floor of projects needing to be finished, etc.) and got my car and DH’s little truck loaded up, then drove down and signed our names something like 40 times ⁉️ then took the keys and drove to the house, opened the garage and drove in. That was perhaps the highlight for me, LOL, as we’ve never had an attached garage in our 36 years of marriage. We carried everything in…and down. Most of what we took went to the basement, and our basement has standard 9′ ceilings rather than the 7′ of most basements, which means an extra two feet of stairs to go up and down. DH and I were laughing about a built-in stair machine for in the winter months! Then we worked in the yard, me weeding and DH mowing, and the boys stopped by, and the plumber came to fix the toilet (a 30-minute job was all), and then we walked three short blocks to the “downtown” area and had supper at a restaurant we love. Fun, fun, fun, and we just want to move completely and immediately, LOL! We’ll pack a bit over the coming four weeks and take stuff down once or twice a week, but the big effort won’t happen until the final retirement date, Mark’s last Sunday, May 18.

Reading all your comments about why we’re so overweight, and why we eat stuff we shouldn’t, etc., etc…When we got home last night, I was very sleepy and tired (had only slept about 3 hours the night before from the excitement and then worked hard all day), but was craving “something.” DH sat beside me with the bag of already-shelled and salt- and pepper-seasoned pistachios, and it was all over. I ate WAY too many of those babies. And I ate them because I kept craving more. This morning, it occurred to me that, perhaps, if I’d remembered the perfectly balanced combo of sugar/salt the makers put in, perhaps I could have broken the lure of the cravings. And there I think is half the problem: we aren’t raised to THINK about what we’re eating, but are instead asked what we WANT. So feelings rather than thoughts. Thus today has to be so very controlled so that I don’t undo the good work of this last week, and also so that I can undo the bloated belly I now have so my dress for tomorrow’s recital by my students looks okay on me. And also so that I can drop five pounds by May 18, so I can wear a particular dress that day that I always think of as a “frock.” 🥰🥰🥰 It’s a summer dress for sure (so I’m hoping the weather cooperates that day!) and needs me to be just a bit thinner to fit comfortably.

So there are my goals. Oh, and as I think about sorting through my own cookbooks, I’m thinking of you, @lilymartin, and your challenges with books and sufficient space. (and good luck with catching the mouse!) It is so very difficult to get rid of loved cookbooks, isn’t it? I’m certain I haven’t cooked out of perhaps as many as 80% of mine, but I’ve read many of them, I love the look of them, and some of them that I really don’t want for cooking, I keep because it was so sweet of the person who gave it to me. So, I struggle right along with you, LOL!

Okay, I’m off to clean out a cupboard of candles, china, and piano music in roughly equal parts…I love candles!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

second post , re cat/mouse saga, we used to have a cat but we also have lots of little birds and unfortunately cats being cats on a farm don’t just eat mice …. so no cat but now mice.
Also lots of cats become feral and go bush and breed and feral cats are a very real problem and danger to our little native animals.
I just re-read my previous epic and apologise for all the mistakes. It does pay to proofread.

Lots of us have dogs on here, do you have any pets Autumn? Just about to take mine out again if I can wake her up. You would think greyhounds are very active dogs but they are three laziest of all dogs. She probably thinks I did all that running so now I’m retired and just want to sleep.I am only having one meal each day on most days. When I eat it makes me hungry.I told them this at MoreLife and they said they’re was a medical reason for that. Forgot what it was, leptin something or other I think.

    Thank you hedgehogs!
Agree about the feeling hungrier on fasting days when doing 5:2.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Hello Autumnsky, & glad you found us! I joined here for the support & also for some accountability, it helps me if I say I’m doing a FD publicly to stick to it! It’s good that you’re getting into 16:8 & that’s helped! I’ve always found eating small meals on FDs made me hungrier, so I’d just have one meal in the evening…Lots of water will help, sometimes I have a little bit of salt on my palm to eat, & that can make a difference for me …summer’s coming, I’ve got a photo on my fridge to remind myself how I’d like to look! We chat about all sorts on here, not just the fasting…feel free to join in!
I wanted to do an organised walk today but it was 3 hours so would’ve been too much for my feet, a bit gutted. So had my usual walk with Xena, the bluebells are out in the woods & very pretty! Seeing Mum later, I’ll try & get her out to see them another day….
    Have a good weekend everyone!

My TDEE is over 2500 so it’s easy for me too stay well under, but I found that if I had my full TDEE allowance I always put on weight. I have not done any fasting for the last year. I was referred by my doctor to a weight loss program run by MoreLife.I attended the meetings for the last year and lost 2.5 stone there. Now I’ll look at my weight next month and decide if I stick to what I’ve been doing the last year or go back to the 5-2.
