  • I’ve been fasting 5:2 since end April. I started out at 100 kg and over time was weighing less on the scales going down to 95kg at one point. However just weighed myself again today (morning after a feast day) and I’m back up to 97.6 kg. Just feeling like what’s the point in all this depravation if it’s not even working! Anyone else had this issue and any tips?

    TishTash..

Just keep going don’t weigh after a feast day your weight will be up!

I have started weighing the morning after each FD, logging my Friday weight.

I have been on many plateaus but the weigh still starts to comes off again….Its easy to overeat on your NFDs, I only eat 1200/1300 calories on my eat days but I am nearly at goal…or maybe my last stone I have not decided yet. It depends how much weigh you have to loose on your eat calories

Count your calories for a few weeks to see you are not eating over your calories

    Good luck

Thanks Symba! How much have you lost now over how much time? I’ll try counting calories on feast days and see how I get on. Also I’m trying alternate fast days from this week (except for weekends) so a kind of 3:4 diet to see if it helps.

    Hi Tish-Tash!

Plateaus happen! just keep on with the plan.

I have lost over 7 stone on 5:2 over a few years (including an enforced break from the plan!) – exact amount lost is unknown as I couldn’t weigh myself accurately in the heavier days….and I still have a few more stone to go.

I have had a few plateaus along my journey – I can assure you that the weight WILL come off if you persevere….Double check your TDEE (amount you eat on non-fast days) and make sure you are keeping to your 500/600 on a fast day.

    Hi Samantha,

I really don’t think anyone is buying into what youre “selling” with regards to weight loss. Why not try 5:2 if youre concerned whether a diet is safe?

I assume the item you referred to was removed, BigBooty?

Ha ha. Yes its been removed. I find those posts quite amusing but then I suspect some people might be seduced by them, so best to remove them. Snake oil sales merchants. the only thing that gets lighter is your wallet.
