  • After loosing 6kg on 5:2, about 7 yrs ago, things started to catch up with me. I went on to 3:4 and have ended up on 4:3 for about 4 yrs. I exercise alot, weight training and cardio and 4:3 only serves as maintenance. I alternate between loosing and gaining about 500g/week and my tanita scale tells me I loose more muscle than fat most weeks. If I halt, I put on weight immediately.

I am 52, would like to shed 3-4kg fat, and am worried as an injury means much less exercise for 3-6months.

I have occasionally combined 4:3 with low carb to great effect but I find this very hard.

My pattern is 2 fast days, 1 day off, 2 fast days, 2 days off.

Please advise, as I’m worried i may not be able to break the cycle and get better results

Have you tried alternating between 4:3 and low carb every few weeks? That could be a great way to switch things up while you’re unable to exercise as much.
