  • Norway, Day 18, FD

Having a busy day at work today, so fasting is going great. Hoping to see a new low on the scale tomorrow, as I started the FD quite low. (I weigh myself almost every morning and evening, mostly for fun).

Don’t have too much to say today, just checking in, being busy bee I still havent got the time to read up on post, so sorry about that. Hope everyone are healthy and safe.

    Day 18 – USA (Illinois) – NFD

Very good FD yesterday at 550 calories. I always include my daily apple that aids in digestion. Off today to Utah to DD and 2 granddaughter’s lovely place. I enjoy visiting there,.

Hope I can read posts later on. Onward and downward.

hello day 18 from Co Down NI NFD

Still not on great form and finding it hard to get motivated this week, so easy to let notions get the better of me. It was a miracle those licquorice gums stayed were they where! Wonder if it is the change in the season hitting home – due to my foot I have not been out much over the last 5 weeks or so. Not getting any work in the garden done therefore not out in the weak sunshine at all. Time to take some vitamins while I ride out this wave.

One of my baby birds is flying the nest – the youngest twin and his girlfriend have decided to give it a go moving their relationship up a level and are going to rent a place not too far away. Excited and just a little teensy bit nervous for them as they flutter. His other half got his visa for NZ approved so all being well will also be fluttering to the other side of the world early next year. Again happy he is stretching his wings and exploring but also have motherly concern. Such is life I suppose.

    Day 18, South Wales, NFD/16:8

Not much time to read all your lovely posts unfortunately, but good luck all on FD today! @mari84 – like the idea that you weigh yourself ‘for fun’!! @coda, hope you feel better soon.

Day 18 Akron OH NFD. My terribly over-indulgent weekend caught up with me, I stepped on the scale and immediately stepped off; I won’t tell you the number that I saw. I have to develop greater discipline on the weekends because I am undoing all my good work during the week. Monday and Tuesday were good FD though, I felt light and airy this morning, too bad my scale did not feel the same way.
Funny thing, I look forward to my Lime-a-rita saturday, usually I have just one super-sized lime-a-rita but last weekend I had two and boy did I feel crappy; sweaty, hot, irritable and not good. Which makes me wonder-hmm. I think I will switch back to red wine; might as well get some health benefit out of my alcohol consumption.
Ok, enough rambling. I have to get to work now. have a great Wednesday everyone.

    Day 18 FD (800 calories)

Day 3 of 21 personal whole plant based challenge

This is just a quick post and dash. I need to get my workout and walk the dog. I’ll try to post more tomorrow. TY to the people who commented on the study and for the info on the blood sugar diet.

I hope you all have a good day!

    Day 18 North Wales FD

@coda well done for staying strong in resisting the sweets. It is exciting a a little bit sad when your children leave home. My eldest daughter went to NZ for 4 years. It is a beautiful country and I was lucky enough to visit her twice. I am also lucky because she came home two years ago bringing with her my adorable granddaughter.

Pondering on this WOE, my slim DH has practiced eating this way naturally since I met him. He would automatically skip meals the day or two after an indulgent feast or holiday. I think all naturally slim people have gravitated to this WOE without having to be told how to do it. I am finally learning how to do it too, it takes practice and perseverance, but it works.

Re:GBBO I steadfastly avoid watching baking shows, looking at baking magazines and even walking though the baking aisle at the grocery store. Why torture Myself? I only have a very small willpower muscle and must support it while it grows bigger and stronger.

Cheers to everyone pushing the RESET button today, YOU CAN DO IT!

Day 18, Rocky Mountains, US, CD

My (formerly broken) foot is acting up but I will go hiking anyway.
But first, I have to take out my dog again. He is gurgling (very loud) like crazy and was in search of a certain type of grass in the early morning. I gave him a probiotic formula concoction but he would not drink it.

    Have a good Wednesday everyone!😊😊😊

Day 18 – McMinnville Oregon USA – LFD
I’m doing a LF today, it’s still early but I was not hungry when I woke up. I’m going to concentrate on drinking more water and coconut water today.
    Onward and downward everyone!!

    Day 18 – ABQ – FD

Woops – looks like I posted twice on accident! Sorry ya’ll!

Today is my first FD in B2B (or maybe another B2B2B). I’ve got lots of water, an apple, some cheese, and miso soup to hold me over today 🙂

I agree with @strawberriesandcream, I love reading research and hearing about others experience and knowledge! So please do keep posting @metatanta & @big_bill!

Thank you so much for your kind words @strawberriesandcream, @debster521, @missybear and anyone else I might have missed. I am very much looking forward to writing a ton next month! I’ll for sure share a link to my story at the beg of dec for those who do want to read how ever far I end up getting!

@missybear, Yes, this year does seem to be a lot worse than previous years. My arm is still a little sore/tender and it’s been 3 days now! And I’m doing workouts and moving it a lot. I hope this isn’t indicative of a really bad flu year. The pediatrician’s office won’t receive the vaccines for my toddler until late next week. It makes me so nervous to wait this long to give it to my little one.

    Day 18 – Reykjavik – NFD

I have been away from the forum for many days. Apologies. Too busy at work. Drowning in meetings, emails, phone-calls and worries. Long work days and overdose of stress.

Have been keeping my FD despite the situation, but I´m eating more rubbish on daily basis than normally. Let’s hope it won´t affect the outcome too much.

Trying to waddle through the mud by remembering the lyrics from a hit song from way past “Don´t worry – be happy”

    Day 18 California NFD

Yesterday’s FD came in at 465 calories and I lost 1.4 kg of the weight I put on over the weekend. I need to eat more mindfully on NFDs! I want to be at my overall goal of 58 by the end of the year and this last month I’ve only been maintaining with all the up and down eating.

@in it to thin it, my OH eats much the 5:2 way naturally as well, at least as far as not eating between meals and eating some very light meals when he isn’t hungry. And he is naturally thin. I wish it was so easy for me!

Good luck to all who are fasting today. Stay strong!

    Second post

    Some very late replies due to my absence from the forum since Friday;
@aljomisaza @flourbaby @jessyoursize @at – I think you have yet to discover the wonderful feeling of cold sea swimming . Above 10 degrees C is no sweat. 5-10 degrees C is a bit cold, takes a while to adjust.
0-4 degrees C is really cold and one can ´t manage for a long period of time in the sea. The lowest I have experienced is -1,7 degrees C and that was a torture (and yes the sea can go below zero). I thought I was going to get a heart attack that day, my heart pumping 1000 bpm or so.

    @awilson thanks for the encouragement

@debster251 – I take it from @coda comments to you that you are familiar with staying in cold water. And yes you literally glow afterwards.

Maybe there is a group here for starting up sea swimming challenge for November? 😉
@coda @debster251 are you with me?

    Day 18, Emden Germany, NFD

Away for a seminar and managed to stay away from all the cookies and chocolate treats they serve at every break! Yay! Planning next fast this week for Friday or Saturday.

@tenoro, that is the perfect tune 🙂

    Have a great N/FD everyone!

    Day 18 FD UK

Today’s FD has been a struggle. Arrived really early for a meeting this morning so went to a coffee shop &succumbed to a croissant. I was so cold leaving the meeting at lunchtime I was fantasising about a toasted sandwich! Managed to just have my apple on the train home then small portion of soup just now. Total for the day is under 700 cals, as long as nothing else passes my lips.
Monday’s FD was a similar struggle apologies to my fellow sugar slayers, I was so hungry mid afternoon that I fell for a chocolate mini roll. Only150 cals but it tasted so good. They came in a pack of 2 so I gave the 2nd one to my OH. I think it’s the weather turning colder that’s doing it -makes me want more sustenance.

I’m getting lots of support from this forum, on the way home today I read yesterday’s posts and determined an apple was all I was going to have. So a big thank you to all my fellow fasters, you’re keeping me (sort of)on the wagon, despite by best intentions of jumping off for a pit stop every now and then.

    Day 18 UK NFD

Michael Moseley on the One Show says we can move to 800 calories on a FD and it won’t make much difference. So on tomorrow’s FD I can have an extra 300 cals? Tempting. But then it will take even longer to lose the weight.
Anyone on here having the 800 cals?

Still struggling with extreme tiredness so am thinking of cutting coffee. I love my coffee.

Most days are CFD so I am not putting on weight at least. Not active enough at the moment.

Still reading everyone’s posts, hanging on by my fingernails.

    Mari

    2nd post FD Day 17

Day 3 of my personal challenge

“Eating cuz you ate”. I used that today. I ended up on a work errand in the city where my Mom and Aunt live. I called them and we got together for lunch. Normally, I don’t eat lunch. It was SO worth it. It was so much fun and a lot of laughs.

After I got home I was tempted to have toast … then a banana … then left over soup …. and I stopped myself reminding myself that I would be “eating cuz I ate”. So, I have my plant based meal on the stove and I am waiting for my husband to get home for dinner. Behavior modification works.

@In it to thin it: I use to skip meals too. Mostly because I was busy. I was always naturally thin. After having kids I started making 3 square meals and snacks because that is what I thought a good Mom did. Luckily, I didn’t force them to eat every meal. If there weren’t hungry … I was ok with that. Both of them are still naturally thin.

@redrockgirl302 I hope your pup is feeling better. Isn’t it amazing how dogs cure themselves with grass.

@bluefootedruby I am using the new 800 calorie recommendation but I am a noob and don’t have anything to compare it too. I can tell that I am losing weight.

Dunno what day it is, US, NFD

I’m on holidays and have been eating, even when I’m not hungry. We went to a wedding on Sunday and I saw some photos of me afterwards. I’ve gone from feeling really good about myself last week, to utterly despondent when faced with the objective reality of how those photos depicted me. Ive tried to tell myself how much worse I’d have looked if I’d not been on 5:2 and lost 6 kg, but I’m struggling.

Next week, back home, it’ll be major reset.

Anyway, enough about me. I’ve nnot been keeping up with news while on hols, so I was shocked to read about Ophelia. Thinking of you all who have been affected.

And congrats to those who have successfully resisted the snack dragons!

    Day 18 NFD
Day 19 FD – Brisbane, Australia

Hello, My name is Kerri and I am a serial snacker. Why is it so hard not to snack? As soon as FD comes around I just want to snack all day. I am managing to stay away from the pantry but it is hard. I just have to keep in mind the future slim me.

@metatauta I have seen that clip many times but it still makes me laugh 😂
@tenoro I will take your word for it ❄️⛄️

DISCIPLINE, NOT DESIRE, DETERMINES YOUR DESTINATION

    Day 19 – Japan – NFD 83.5kg

I’m starting to do better, at least the worst seems to be over. I’m also done with the medication. It is amazing the impact medication can have on weight, as when I finished my weight was up to 84.9kg. Largely this is all fluid retention.

I’m currently planning on starting fasting next Monday. Hopefully by then I’ll be able to resume a more normal routine. I’m still very limited in my exercises since hard breathing brings on a coughing fit. The kind of coughing that even leaves my legs hurting. 🙁

While all of this has been horrible, it is by far the worst sickness I’ve had in the last ten+ years. Sometimes the viruses just win for a while. Getting this sick only once in ten years isn’t that bad. 🙂

    Day 19 Gold Coast FD

I’m really looking forward to a LFD today. I find it so much easier than staying controlled.

Day 19, USA, Missouri Ozarks, FD

Made it through my third fast day in a row. All went well, the whoosh effect today got rid of the weekend weight. Going out with friends tomorrow and Friday but will eat sanely – will have no breakfast, enjoy a nice lunch, have a light dinner.

Didn’t get a chance to read at all today so have to catch up, very busy at work as we were on a filing deadline. But, we made it and now I am off for four days to recover. haha..

    Take care, all.

    Day 19 | Sydney Australia | FD

Having already done 2 fasting days this week (Monday and Tuesday) it would be sensible to make today a NFD.

But after eating way too much high calorie food yesterday I feel like I need another fasting day to get myself back on track.

I’ve learned not to break a 2 day B2B fast with a big lunch of high carb and high sugar food. I will try not to make that same mistake again, at least not to the extent that I did yesterday.

I’m not planning to eat until this evening – I’m currently having a big cup of coffee with a little unsweetened almond milk for lunch.

Day 18 – SW WA USA – NFD

It’s been so busy today I don’t think I posted yet nor am I caught up on your lovely posts. Still more work to do before calling it a day.

    Planning an FD tomorrow.

BTW, I’m delighted that the scale is finally moving downward, I think I’ll make my October goal.

Day 19 country west Australia NFD
been offline with computer problems since last posted – not sure when. Short window of connection so all days since have been over-indulgent NFDs and sadly I am almost back to where I was 12 months ago, having gained 5.5 kgs since my lowest weight in years, earlier in 2017 after a few months of 5:2.
Certainly can’t be accused of following this WOL for the past week when an unexpected week’s break was thrown in to the mix and my DH and I have been travelling since.🥂🍿🍩🍔🎂🍷🍧🍷
Trying to reset but off to wineries, out to dinner and have eaten out almost every meal in the past week. Not something I often do !!

    Day 19/16:8/CD/Melbourne Australia

    Day 19 – UAE – FD
    Day 18 – UAE – NFD

    Day 19, NFD

    Day 19, Gozo Malta, nfd/cd

Yesterday s fd ended 1,000 calories. I didn’t seem to have much control on my fds this week. I won’t attempt to do more this week.

Coda it’s so difficult sometimes being a mother. You like to see your children stretch their wings yet you are concerned for them. My youngest daughter is in South Africa right now doing a scuba diving course as she has already made the exams in London but needs to practice and do courses to obtain this second specialty. I dedicated mass for her safe return this morning as I’m anxious and concerned for her.

I weighed this morning and I’m 0.7 kilos more than last week, I’m 65.4 kilos. It must have been water retention last week as I had diarrhea the week before.

Have a great Thursday everyone, onwards and downwards.

    Day 19 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD 3rd B2B2B

Yesterday’s LFD was no problem, as DH decided to join me in fasting in the evening and did not tempt me with lovely food. However, as he stood there with first, a slice of cheese in hand, and later, having a yoghurt, I figured I better try to get him to understand what this fasting really is. Might look up Michael Moseleys documentary on YouTube this weekend and we can both watch it. Wish me luck with that 😆

Anyhow, true to form, the wonderful liquid Only fast dispatched 2.5 lbs, so most of the weekend and Ophelia weight gain has gone. In order to get beyond last week’s low weight I need to be mindful on today’s final FD of the week.

I will listen to my body. I will try a B2B LFD, but as this is my 3rd day fasting, not sure if I can do it. I have a kiwi and plum packed with my oxo cube for work, but they are only for emergencies. If I am troubled this evening I will eat pure protein – maybe a boiled egg, slice of ham, and early to bed with milky drink and nutmeg.

@mari84 I also hop on the scales a lot to see what way my weight goes ……I love the idea of doing it “just for fun” ☺️
@tenora Your sea swimming challenge in November has me shivering at the very thought 😄 Very brave of you, enjoy, I will wave at you from the fireside 😉

    Day 15 l Ireland 🇮🇪 l NFD
    Day 16 l Ireland 🇮🇪 l NFD
    Day 17 l Ireland 🇮🇪 l NFD
    Day 18 l Ireland 🇮🇪 l NFD

Ophelia certainly messed up the week. Fortunately no loss of water, but electricity, mobile networks and WiFi all cut for varying periods this week. I have great admiration for all the workers out there in the bad weather trying to get these services back to us.

So, it’s Thursday, FD – back to normal schedule.

    Day 19 UK NFD

Yesterday got messed up a bit because I had to wait for someone to collect the rabbits from the vets (one of them was still really lethargic and needed to come inside into a cage by the radiator instead of going back out into the barn, but he had perked up when I got back and went back out later) and then she gave me a left to the station. Because I knew I wasn’t walking I nibbled while I cooked dinner for the others and then felt unwell during the class. I really do much better mentality as well as physically on an empty stomach. There was lots of disruption to the train service, someone on the tracks and then we got turfed off one train and onto another so I was very late back and didn’t dare to drink anymore because of a lack of toilets. So I had a bowl of sprout curry when I got back when I really just should have drunk a big glass of water. The fast day was still under 800 calories, and I usually do lose of that but not this time. I should have done a water fast, I would feel much better now if I had. Although my sickness is still lurking with a headache and a cough and a sore throat. I have discovered though that walking makes me feel better. I fairly flew up that hill last night. It is remarkable how quickly the body gets stronger. My mother despised sport and her attitude rubbed off on me helped along by my asthma which made exertion difficult. I wish I had known how good it feels to just move when I was younger. I used to struggle to keep up with my children, we could have had much more fun as I am now… sorry rambling. Must get up and see how the little fluffsters are doing after their unpleasant day yesterday.

Hello day 19 from Co Down NI FD (I hope)

@redrockgirl302 – my 2 dogs love natural yogurt and if I am using any they are salivating for their share. I have even tried them with some kefir and they seem to like that as well.

@tenoro – sorry that would be a no from me Brrrr❄!

@bluefootedruby – some swop 500 or < up to 800 as and when they feel the need. There are no hard and fast rules. Sometimes you need a little extra.

@penz and @Lilmartin – reset button ready and waiting ❎. Don’t worry its just a big wave – ride it out 🏄.

Sadly those licquorice wine gums are no more 😐 – I did share them rather than eat the whole packet – still no alcohol and now I have had my ‘fix’ I may be wine gum free until the end of the month. I seem to sleep ok, albeit I am so conscience of my toes when I turn, but I seem so tired this weather and everything is such an effort. Less than a week until the pin comes out Yay!

    Day19, London, UK, FD

@basyjames, I’m with you on the indulgent weekend coming back to bite me on the (rather more substantial than last week)………… a*se!!!!! I can’t reveal the number I saw either, it amounted to 10’s of 1000’s of calories, impossible I know, but damned frustrating nonetheless!!!!

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as yesterdays’ FD, 2nd of B2B2B turned into a NFD, having closed the kitchen at 7:30 at 475 cals, I battered down the door at 10pm and inhaled an additional 700 calories of crap!!!! Again, I’m telling myself………………JUST GO TO BED!!!!!

@tenoro, I’m freezing just reading that!!! Thanks for the suggestion, but I will NEVER, EVER “discover the wonderful feeling of cold sea swimming”, now, there’s a contradictory statement if ever I heard one!!!!!! I reckon I could hazard a guess at the response you’ll get from @coda and @debster251, LOL!!!!!

@rainbowsmile, fingernails are fine, as long as you’re still with us!!!!!

    Fingers crossed @annemarilyn!!!

@lilymartin, I reacquired 7lbs during my holiday in July, but life is for living and you know you have the tools to ditch any excess lbs, you’ll just shift your target date to suit. Stick with it and whilst you’re away make 1 or 2 better choices each day to prevent that ‘all or nothing’ mentality that got us where we are now………. Good luck and have a glass (or bottle) for me at the winery…………..Jealous!!!!

Keep the faith people, we’ve got this (most of the time anyway)!!!!

    Day 19 Belfast FD

@coda – I detect a little melancholy in your post. Does that leave you with an empty nest? As mummies, we give our children the tools and confidence to grow up securely, and when they use the wings we’ve given them and they fly off into the sunset it can be hard for those left behind.
@tenoro – I grew up on the south coast of England and swam from April through to the end of October in the English Channel. That was a long time ago! Now I swim in a 22 degree pool. My recent cold water experience is iced baths to take away inflammation in my hip, and after this week, no more! Thanks for the offer but I’ll pass on that one!
I second/third that vote of confidence @metatauta/Big_Bill. Keep that information coming!
@rainbowsmile – think your strategy is good. When you’ve so much on your plate, concentrate on your studies. The first term I think is always the hardest.
@xoxo/bluefootedruby the maths behind this WOL is this: it is generally assumed that it takes a deficit of 3000 cals to reduce weight by 1 pound. If a woman eats on average 2000cals a day, by reducing those cals to 500 on two days, you are cutting 2 x 1500 which equates to 3000 cals and 1 pound. The more calories you eat on your fast days, the slower your weight loss. It’s a personal choice as to how many cals you eat.
@penz – don’t let those dreaded photos get you down. They always make you look older/fatter/grumpier than you want!
@aljomisaza – from one serial snacker to another, you can break the habit. Put the goodies away, tape up the cupboard, or print off big notices for the cupboard to stop you or just don’t buy the food to snack on. I put a photo I didn’t like on the fridge. A salutary reminder!
@dykask – good to see you back and I. Good form.
@lilymartin – sounds like you had a ball! Life’s for living for sure. Now just press that reset button!
@fatrabbit – I share your regret of not having lost weight sooner. I’ve always been very active, but have had stomach problems for 20 years, which have now got considerably better since I lost weight. Enjoy every moment of your new found fitness. You’re an inspiration!

A horrible wet and windy day today. A day to get rid of some of those indoor chores I think!

You only get one body in this life – love it and look after it.

    Day 19 – Nuremberg, Germany – NFD
    Day 18 – Nuremberg, Germany – CD/FD?
    Day 17 – Nuremberg, Germany – NFD
No idea on current weight as I don’t have access to my scales.
This week is an odd one as I’m away on business again, but we are in the throes of project initiation and presenting plans to Executive Management. Days are consisting of all day workshops running from 8.30am – 7pm so I’m not moving much but also not eating much.
Yesterday we all went out for a team dinner, but it was one of those places that serves you 2 teaspoons of shredded cabbage in a small glass with a drizzle of dressing and calls it a starter, and that serves tiny amuse bouche between courses so I didn’t eat very much at all. Difficult to be sure on the calorie count but it was definitely below 800 for the day and probably around 600 I think.
Despite that I can see my feet are puffy (too much sitting around and flights) so I guess I’m still retaining water.
The stress and general manic atmosphere means I’m not sleeping that well, definitely not getting my 7 hours a night which is also affecting my weight.

Next week should be a bit calmer anyway.

    Day 15 Dublin Ireland NFD
    Day 16 Dublin Ireland NFD
    Day 17 Dublin Ireland FD
Well today is day 17 (for me). With hurricane Ophelia we had all 4 kiddies at home for 2 days. Thankfully all safe and sound. Back on the horse again today with a FD. Had almonds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, ground linseed and some berries with coconut milk at 9am. Today is the first day since June that I woke without tinnitus!! I think fingers crossed that I have cured it. Unfortunately it involved giving up coffee and alcohol (bar 1 glass of red a month!) and a wide array of anti-inflammatory supplements, yoga (every second day), meditation and a weekly trip for an Ayurvedic massage of my back neck and head. It totally worked though!! I’m so happy this morning. I went for a run by the river and it was wonderful.Strength to everyone out there who might be struggling. You CAN do it..STAY STRONG

    Day 19, South Wales, FD

Right, renewed determination…October WILL see a weight loss for me, even if it’s only a pound or two. 13 days to go – I can do it!!! I think….

    Day 19…..Florida……FD

Just a quick post this morning, since last night, I took my youngest to dinner and had to stop by a few stores. By the time, we returned home it was to late to water the garden and I was to lazy to do my evening chores. So, this morning before work, I’ve got a lot to catch up with.

Today, come hell or high water, I’m doing a FD. Lately, it seems I’ve been extra tired. I was blaming it on the fact that we flipped the mattress on our bed. This side is much firmer and I hate it, but I had an ahh moment and realized it’s not the mattress but what I have been eating. Clearly, not enough healthy crap. I also have not been drinking my water, so I’ll be getting more of that in too…..

I saw a little stiletto of a man, he’s on the loose, he’s on the loose carrying a can of fandango!

    Day 19 Wales FD

@bluefootedruby – I allow up to 800 calories on FDs. So far my average monthly weight loss is just over 3 pounds, this might be too slow for some but I am happy because it is sustainable for me and I don’t feel the need to eat more on NFDs…..I’m in my 4th month of 5:2 so I am still learning what suits me, and that’s the beauty of this WOE.

Hope my fellow Thursday fasters and pocket Winos are doing well.

    UK Day 4 FD

    Day 19, Belfast, NFD

Yesterday’s FD went well – really busy all day. Made some time for yoga once I got home. And that Asian noodle veggie broth… AGAIN! LOL! Husband had a bowl too, it’s a winner.

Going to try and make some healthier choices for dinners – tonight it’s the Hairy Dieters’ roast peppers stuffed with mushrooms, tomato and feta. Yum.

    Good luck everyone today!x

Update day 19 NFD – head not in it – think I need to wait for the next wagon to come along

@debster251 – there will be still 2 at home even when twin 1 goes to NZ. Son number 1 has been a bit of a boomerang – he has left home a few times but has ended back home again, obviously would prefer to be elsewhere but stuck with us in the meantime. Number 2 says he’s not going anywhere lol. I’m looking for a Manchester United, football mad female to change his mind.

Day 19 – SW WA USA – FD

My computer’s slow this morning. Trying to read posts but taking long to load.

Going for a FD on this rainy fall day. If there’s a pocket list for today, please add me to it.

@big_bill – please share the link here re article on IF.

    Together we are stronger!

    Day 19 – USA – NFD

Great FD yesterday, about 357 cals…had my ACV w/water, 3/4 of a zucchini fried in olive oil cooking spray, garlic salt, onion powder, chopped green onions and a little shredded parm for brunch and for dinner, a bag of fresh spinach fried in olive oil cooking spray with same spices, plus 1 oz, cream cheese…finding more ways to eat healthy without breaking the bank! @bert1802, did you ever check out Tuft and Needle? Their mattresses are wonderful and very inexpensive. @dykask, glad to hear you are getting better! @lilymartin, you have heard it from the veterans of this thread, and I concur! @liathanail, girl, you need a vakay from work! @onedayordayone, I have had tinnitus most of my life, too. @lynned, a pound or two is wonderful and steady, to be admired! @bluefootedruby, you have a great attitude! @belfastsink, do you happen to have the roasted pepper recipe on hand? If not, should I look under “Hairy Dieter’s”? @coda, hang in there – xoxo To all who commented that you might be interested in LCHF, here’s a graphic for you: your body is a refrigerator with a freezer; when you eat high carb and sugar, it immediately creates high insulin levels in the easy-to-reach refrigerator part. That’s what your body burns for energy. However, when you lower your consumption of high carbs and sugar, your body has to go to the normally inaccessible freezer to where your own body fat is, and burns it; hence, you lose body fat and weight and inches. Dr. Jason Fung (YouTube) used this analogy in one of his lectures, which I would highly recommend. Hope it helps someone.

    Day 18 – Cumbria UK – NFD
    Day 19 – Cumbria UK – FD

Had a lovely Day 18 – great yoga class in the morning, very enjoyable afternoon volunteering and then cooked DD and I a very yummy steak dinner – OH had a big bowl of mixed vegetable salad and some mackerel (he does not eat meat)

Enjoyed my aerobic class this morning, back home for a shower then treated myself to a pedicure – bliss!

Drinking plenty of water and tea with a dash of skimmed milk and planning some poached eggs and spinach for dinner with a glass of homemade kefir before bed.

@mia139 and @songbirdme – I’m with you both about not going back to the old weight due to ‘fat’ clothing being all gone!!! Fasting now allows me to enjoy what I want on my NFD and even allows for some overindulgent days without gaining weight and I love the new me too much to go back where I was at the start of this journey!
@xoxo and @bluefootedruby – My understanding is that Dr M’s Blood Sugar Diet has various options
    1) The BSD Fast 800: Fast and effective is 800 Calories a day, low carb Med style eating for up to 8 weeks.
    2) The BSD 5:2: Flexible Intermittent Fasting Diet is 5 days low carb Med-style eating, 2 days 800 calories fasting.
    3) The BSD Low Carb Med-Style: For those who can’t fast is a Low carb Med-style eating.
Eventually when weight is lost and blood sugars much improved you settle into The BSD Way of Life (WOL) which is Low carb Med-style eating which may include intermittent fasting.
@fatrabbit – lovely to read your rabbit stories again and of course the guinea pigs ones too!! and remember that you are no longer such a fatrabbit 😉
@aarjee – be patient this WOL works – great advice already given – are you eating to your TDEE on your NFD? also it would help if you worked out your TDEE for your target weight and not your current one and eat to that maximum – this will result in faster weight loss and no adjustment required when you reach your target weight ☺️
@Strawberriesandcream – great rehab by your OH!
@coda – I think you need one of these 🤗 Just remember we are here for you – pop in and read the posts for inspiration when you are feeling a bit down – I saw this lovely quote and thought it apt for perhaps how you are feeling at this stage of your recovery “Life is tough, my darling, but so are you” Stephanie Bennett Henry
@in-it-to-thin-it – I’m the opposite – I train my “willpower muscle” by watching cookery programmes like GBBO on FD……LOL
@tenoro – I’m with @flourbaby – I will NEVER, EVER “discover the wonderful feeling of cold sea swimming” ……..now if it’s warm tropical seas……..

Well that’s me caught up for now – off to make a cup of tea and see what OH has been up to…….he has been very quiet……..

❤️ “It’s the little things in life” ❤️
