Sau11 Dublin Ireland NFD. Ate well today but not sensing any weight loss. Think I’ll have to throw in an extra FD tomorrow. Found it tricky this week and last week was so easy. Ah week. Onwards we go.

@tenoro I can see your healthy glow from here!
@coda I think I would rather swim in the sea than sit amongst ice cubes. Lol! Our local Mace must think I’m either nuts or a real party animal, buying big bags of ice. If I had room in my freezer, I’d just refreeze bag.! Ha! Not even sure if it’s doing any good. I swam in Donegal last September, and it was warmer in the sea!
Day 13 – McMinnville Oregon USA – FD
Liquid Only Pocket List:
@daffodil2010
@basyjames
@Debster251-
@awilson
@jarbia – I will send you and your husband positive thoughts for a benign result! Nerve wracking to say the least!! Happy 28th wedding Anniversary.
@tenoro – Congratulations on breaking the 95 kg ceiling, well done.
@debster251 – Love your ice bath story – yikes! 🛀❄️, maybe you should join @tenoro for a brisk swim in the North Atlantic Sea.
@dykask – Glad you went to the doctor, antibiotics are hard but needed. Is it only the US that lacks good health insurance?
Day 13 – Cumbria UK – FD (should be under 400cals)
Had a lovely evening yesterday with our friends – great company, good food and lots of very nice 🍸🍷but not too much above TDEE…….
Today has been a good FD starting with a 6km walk in the rain, but with the correct waterproofs we all stayed dry – really enjoyed my pot of Earl Grey tea afterwards ☺️Nothing to eat as yet and lots of water drunk and some tea with a dash of skimmed milk!
Just back home now after a very cleansing and relaxing facial so time for a catchup on the posts with a big glass of water before tackling dinner (mixed spicy seafood stew with tomatoes, red peppers and spinach – only 313cals = very yum and healthy!) OH will have rice or pasta with his serving!
@xoxo – hope your furry friend is doing OK
@jessyoursize @bert1802 @aljomisaza @daffodil2010 and @tenoro – a happy dance for you all – enjoy that feeling and remember it 💃
@songbirdme – thank you – I have actually been in maintenance since December last year but had a very bad week last week and did not dare weigh myself!!!! I knew I needed to press my RESET button without any further delay this week and have done it successfully I hope – weigh in tomorrow after today’s FD should confirm – my skinny jeans fitted fine today (it’s my measuring trousers 👖😉)
@bluefootedruby – stay strong and positive – if you don’t count calories already, try counting for a week so you become aware of what you are consuming exactly!!! The other bit of advice is work out your TDEE for your target weight and eat to that level and not your current weight – it means that your weight loss will be a bit faster and you will not need to adapt to a new lower TDEE when you reach your target!
@jarbia – 🤗all my positive thoughts coming to you and your OH and hoping that you hear good news soon – Happy 28th wedding Anniversary for today!
@fatrabbit – hope you feel better soon – take care of yourself
@debster251 – Thank you 👖
@dykask – good to hear you have sought medical review – look after yourself
@maddyg – Happy 33rd Wedding Anniversary 🥂
@tenoro and @debster251 – all sounds way to cold for me but glad to hear it was invigorating for you @tenoro…….
Right that’s me caught up – off to prepare and cook that seafood stew and looking forward to my small share 🍲

Day 13 – ABQ – NFD
Its kinda funny eating after a B2B2B especially with them attempting to be LFDs, I’m not as hungry as I usually am and smaller portions are a must! Yesterday went great staying well under TDEE.
@bluefootedruby & @onedayordayone, I know not seeing a loss right away can be a little discouraging, but staying controlled and under your TDEE on NFDs helps a lot, and sometimes it takes a while for you to show the loss on the scale. Have you looked at your measurements? Or are your clothes feeling a little looser? Those are usually the first things I notice before I see a change on the scale.
@tenoro, way to break that floor!! And what a way to celebrate! Cold Swims are very invigorating, but as a Cali girl used to balmy ocean temps, that is QUITE cold ❄️
@dykask, glad you were able to get some meds. Feel better soon
@jarbia, good new wishes to your and your DH! Fingers crossed
@maddyg, Happy Anniversary
@basyjames, oh no! I hope everyone is safe and that today turns out to be less of a bugger.
@awilson, speaking as an american, our health system sucks. I don’t care what side of the issue you are on, I think everyone can agree it sucks. And you may have opened a can of worms here… lol.
So I’m also trying to plan everything for November since we are almost mid way through Oct (what?? where did the time go?) and since it’s American Thanksgiving there will be a LONG 18 hour drive (with a 20 month old) up for us. There is a lot of planning to do, and to top it all off I joined the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge that takes place every November. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, unedited of course. It’s a crazy undertaking but I am so looking forward to it! I figured since this is such a diverse and international group there might be others here that are doing it as well.
Day 13, 2nd post,
I’ve managed to catch-up on posts, had to chuckle at @bert1802 and the chocolate bell!!! Getting even indeed!!!!
@xoxo, I hope the news from the vet regarding Jasmine is good.
@jarbia, you and your OH are in my thoughts & prayers. Xxxx Stay positive & enjoy your anniversary!!
@coda, Mmmmhhh Thai = the food of the Gods!!!!! Congrats on the Haribo swerve, similarly I legged it down the sweet aisle even though I HEARD the tangy wine gums shouting my name, patted myself on the back then threw a multi-pack of cheese and onion crisps into the trolley…….. DOH!!!!!
@tenoro………. Just a couple of things………………. 300m+ (no)…………..7 degrees Celsius (No, I say No)……………Nth Atlantic (i.e. open water) are you crazy???!!!!)…… I’m happy for you, really, I am; personally I love to float on my back in the Med, no physical exertion required, just suntan lotion!!!!
@califdreamer, you’re still in my thoughts. I really hope all is well with you. Xxxxx
Happy fasting everyone!!!
Day 13 – West Midlands, UK – FD
Weigh in was good – the 2.5lb I ‘gained’ last week vanished and took another 0.5lb with it. so that was good
Even better was hubbies WI – he has been gaining week on week so I have been calorie counting him this week and he was down 7lb – okay there was water weight in there, but that was the type of boost he needed
I think my FD will change into a CD as a glass of whine is calling my name.
anyhoo … until tomorrow …
Norway, Day 13, FD? Second post
Well, I usually fast for 36 hours (evening to morning), but this time it became a 24h fast. I had pizza and something don’t know the English word for for desser (sugary thing with chocolate on it). I just couldn’t resist. But nevertheless , I lost weight today, so I am happy. Next week I will try (key word: try) for a 4:3 with mon-wed-fri being FDs.
Now: weekend! Yay 😁🎉😴🎈🎂😂👍🏼🙈
Day 12/13/14 All NFDs/Melbourne Australia
Still under goal (59 kg) but struggling to dispatch the kgs to reach my happy weight (56kg) and have a buffer zone before the festive season arrives. Measuring pants are a little too snug for my liking.
Too many carbs and too much food are creeping back into my diet. Managed to control both for over two years without effort. Need to get my head into the right place. Still fasting but only managing to undo the damage of NFDs.
Apologies for taking a break. Have only managed to skim posts. Hope my fellow October Soberites are faring well? @pocket winos have you managed to control those extra 🍷🍷? Happy anniversary to those celebrating. @jarbia I’m sorry I’ve missed your post. Thinking of you and your DH. @fatrabbit and @dykask hope you recover soon. @calif my thoughts are with you and all those affected by the fires. We live in another fire zone and have been warned of a potentially catastrophic fire season ahead.
@jessyoursize I’m soooo impressed. I’ve never heard of the November writing challenge. I must google it. I’d love to join but have too many deadlines I need to meet. Sounds like such fun but I can’t afford another distraction Or obsession!
@bert your wisdom is so encouraging even for an old veteran like me. Love your humour and positivity.
Enjoy yor weekend everyone.
Day 14 | Sydney Australia | Undecided
Yesterday was a fasting day. I ate sparingly through the day and had a big bowl of pumpkin curry and konjac noodles in the evening. Still only about 400 calories for the day.
Today I’m not feeling hungry (yet) so I might make today a B2B fasting day. But it’s Saturday and there’s a good chance that I’m going to get derailed.
Day 14 Gold Coast CD
Had a good day yesterday, and so far have not added back the LFD benefits. Today is last day at work for 2 weeks woohoo!!!! We are aiming for a quiet holiday at home with a few day trips out and about. Hubby is planning a couple of days fishing, so that sounds like dinner sorted 🙂 I’m looking forward to some time in the garden and preparing healthy meals for a change, as well as time to catch up with myself. I may even get some spinning done!
Have a great day 14 everyone!
Day 14 – NFD – Brisbane, Australia
Enjoyed a nice meal out with DH last night and made a healthy choice, so feeling pleased with myself. Will try not to undo all my good choices throughout this past week over this weekend.
@jarbia praying for a good result. And Happy Anniversary.
@maddyg Happy 33rd Anniversary. We are celebrating 33 years in a couple of weeks.
@tenoro…are you crazy? If the water is not above 25C I don’t go anywhere near it.
DISCIPLINE, NOT DESIRE, DETERMINES YOUR DESTINATION.
Day 14 Ireland 🇮🇪 NFD
October goal: 140lbs
Current Weight: 143.5lbs 💃
First, a confession. I was so gung-ho yesterday to complete my 2nd liquid only FD of the week (I do 4:3 and at least one LFD a week), but for the first time ever on an FD I was really hungry. I drank litres of water. Still hungry. Green teas. Still hungry. Did Plank Challenge. Still hungry.
Logged in here for inspiration and was helped by the knowledge that @debster251, @basyjames and @awilson were all LFD’ing with me.
BUT….By 19.00 I was ravenous…so when DH came home from work I put together a small omelette with spinach, tomato, and olives…under 400 calories. So an FD but not LFD.
Don’t mind though as this morning I am at a new low with another pound dispatched 💃
@flourbaby 😆😆I quite agree with you with the floating in the Med as opposed to North Atlantic. Swimming in the seas surrounding Ireland is just too extreme for me these days.
Happy weekend everyone.
Day 14 – Japan – NFD
I still have a fever but it is lower and the pain in throat greatly reduced, so the medicine must be working. My wife commented this is the first I went to a doctor for myself in Japan. Normally I just see my doctor in the states when I’m there on business.
@bluefootedruby – I had a 2 year plateau where I was working out like crazy and trying to use calorie restriction to loss weight and it just didn’t work. That was when I was around 92kg to 94kg and just couldn’t break it. I kept trying different things and finally ended cutting almost all added sugar out of my diet and then the fat start melting away. I used to be always hungry but my hunger was a lot less after I cut the foods with added sugar. After that I slowly got into fasting. Anyway, I don’t know if what worked for me would work for you, but I’m sure if you keep trying you’ll figure out what does work. Just don’t give up!
Day 14 Sicily FD Off to a good start with a 100 calorie healthy breakfast (skipping breakfast has never worked for me.) Now I get to have one other 400 calorie meal and I want it to be fish. This weeks weather has been lovely on the Mediterranean so I’m sure the fisherman have been out. In the town of Scoglitti they don’t give you a menu- it’s just whatever is fresh that day prepared the way you want it. I’ll have to skip the bread and wine but it’s not like I’ve been deprived! @dykask Glad you’re getting better!
Day 14, London, UK, NFD but CD,
I’m aiming to stay controlled today, fingers crossed. I never thought I would prefer to be at work, but whether fasting or remaining controlled, it’s far easier at work!!
@cipher1971, congratulations for both you and you OH. Nothing like a weight eradication to give you a boost!!
@mogaman, I’m in awe of your commitment to this WOL whilst on holiday, particularly as you’re surrounded by fabulous Sicilian food!! Don’t be too hard on yourself, just controlled.
@steve toon taxi driver, I wouldn’t stress too much over those 4lbs, you’ll obliterate them soon enough – you have the knowledge to do it!! The nut/ raisin issue is one I’ve managed to deal with, they’re only allowed on NFDs & the portion is only what the packet allows (miniscule!!)……………. 1 bag seems to last about 5 weeks!!!!!
I hope we’re all powering towards our goals, stay strong everyone!!
Day 14 Belfast CD
I have to confess @daffodil, @basyjames and @awilson. I got to about 6pm and was hit by serious cravings for sugar. At around 7pm I caved in but rather than made silly sugar choices, I had some crackers and cheese, so it was a FD. HOWEVER, for scales are up this morning, so I’m going to have a CD today.
Day 14, Gozo Malta, nfd
Mogaman we’ve been to Scoglitti and had the most amazing fish menu where you eat antipasto primi and secondo plates. We also swum there this summer. After Christmas we’re going for a week to Sicily and mean to go overland to Taormina and Messina, God willing.
Nfd for me today. I normally report my weight on Thursday after three fds. Today the scale was up 0.8 kilos from last Thursday. I’m ignoring it and reporting my weight next Thursday.
I’m cooking carrot soup and Moroccan chicken for tomorrow lunch. Then tomorrow I’ll just cook the couscous and heat everything up. The chicken was recommended to be cooked a day before by Mary Berry so that the spices have time to infuse. For dessert I’ll go to my nephew cake shop and buy different kinds of cake. I permit myself to eat cake/dessert on Sundays. I hope to stay within my tdee though I don’t count calories on sundays.
Have a great weekend everyone, together we’re stronger.
Day 14…..Florida…..NFD
Okay, there are no more and I’m not err, my husband hopefully will not buy any more. This time I had to wrestle the darn thing off the shelf. No more chocolate bells in the house. Thankful, last week when the hubby went to the bread store, it’s the only place to get these fine things, they were sold out. He won’t be going for another two weeks, so, I may have a chance here.
Since Sept., I’ve been working on deep cleaning and declutter I gotta my home. I’m happy to report that I only have three rooms and a hall closet to go. These three rooms will be the hardest as one is our spare room with all our holiday stuff as well as all the kids toys they cherish but have grown out of, then of course their rooms. I have to go gingerly as I wade through the mountain of crap, we don’t need!
Nov. 1st is my goal to have it finished!
Okay, well I’m off! To much to do today and lots of nothing I want to do!
I saw a little stiletto of a man, he’s on the loose, he’s on the loose carrying a can of fandango!
Day 14 – Cumbria UK – NFD
Another drizzly day here but not cold – A good FD again yesterday (358cals) Pressing that RESET button on Monday has undone all the naughtiness 😈of last week!!!!! as my weight this morning was back to 53.8kg or 118.6lbs/8st 6lbs – Happy maintenance 💃
Out with OH this morning for coffee and broke my fast at 1100 with a brunch of a semi skimmed flat white and cheese scone and damson chutney at our favourite local cafe 😋
@cipher1971 – 👍for both you and your OH
@tlc2 – great job – Logging on here can give us so much support – Together we are stronger!
@onahealthyhigh – you can do this in time for the festive season – I had a very naughty week last week but firmly pressed my RESET button on Monday and have had a very good week even with one night where a lot of 🍸and🍷were consumed…..This WOL is so forgiving ☺️
@aljomisaza – Love the ending to your posts!
@dykask – good to hear that you are starting to feel better
@steve-toon-taxi-driver – your post this morning resonated with me – snacking is truly 😈
Hope everyone is on track for their October goals and if not there is still over 1/2 of the month left……. It’s never too late to press that RESET button!
“You Are All Capable of Amazing Things”
Day 14 – USA (Illinois) – NFD
Happy that I’m still at maintenance 160# where I have been for nearly a year. It is thanks to all of you who have kept me from backsliding (upsliding?) to my former weight and eating habits. 35 pounds gone makes me happy.
The Metropolitan Opera (NYC) has live streaming operas to area theaters all over the world, and today for the matinee it will be “The Magic Flute” – one of my faves. The previews of it look delightful. I have never seen it with subtitles, so certainly I’ll understand this fanciful story even better. This SongBird will be a happy bird.
BUT, that means popcorn for lunch. And I cannot eat it without butter and flavored salt. Okay…. so I will compensate elsewhere today and expect water weight gain for a day. There are so many things I love about our WOL that work for weight control as well as for loss.
Onward and downward.
Day 14 – USA – NFD
Good FD yesterday, 538 cals. I was at 416 and felt I needed a little protein to be able to sleep better, hence the over 500 cals. Yesterday was also an exciting day with a good ending…OH found 2 puppies walking on the road with no collars…after contacting our shelters, there were no reports of them missing, but today their owners are coming to get them. Happy ending!
Day 14 Lancaster, PA NFD
Day 13 NFD
Day 12 Lancaster, PA FD < 500

Day 10 Liquid Fast Day
Wow, I blinked for a day on our forum and I had a lot to catch up with! I love our busy happy group! 😊
When I first started in March 2017 Liquid Fast Days seemed easier for me. I think I was just more determined and dare I say more desperate to eradicate lbs. 😂 I’m hoping to get my determination and mojo back for Liquid FD’s.✨😊✨
@jarbia I am 🤞crossing my fingers and praying ✨🙏✨ that it’s benign and all will be ok for your OH ✨🙏✨.
@coda {{{{Hugs🤗}}}}} ✨Thanks for being wonderful you!✨
@fatrabbit Good vibes and energy for you to get better {{{{Big Hug}}}} I am so impressed by your excreting and purging of the fat(!) and all your activity including going back to increase your International language skills!!!!✨✨✨🤜🏻🤛🏻✨✨✨
@maayyaa I would have answered you sooner, I just saw your post. I stopped chewing the double mint gum. But added a new sugar free gum. I’m with you with the chewing gum. I read where chewing keeps the enzymes and digestion flowing. Since one of my painful teeth fell out, I’m able to chew gum. 😊 At least for a while. The least amount of sugar is good, if your fasting a piece of gum had very little calories which will burn off fast. Even the insulin won’t be very much. If you are staying active fasting or having a Control day and chewing gum works, I say go for it, until you no longer need or want to. Drinking lots of water will help with flushing and excreting fat.
Once 😊 your in ketosis, after no sugar for 12 hours or so, the stored fat in your body is turned to sugar and metabolized for energy for your body processes. If you don’t use all that fat, it isn’t stored again like extra calories that we’ve eaten, it is excreted through pee, never to be seen again.😊
@debster251 I am in awe, I don’t think I could handle the ice cold water as well as you. {{{{Warm Hugs to you!}}}}} I hope your ligaments and hip bone feel better soon.✨Can you Stretch that leg and area? Would stretching help any?
@tenoro I’m impressed with your endurance with the 7 degree Celsius temperatures! 👏👏 Way to go!✨
@dykask hope you are feeling better soon!✨🤗✨
@basyjames I hope everybody was safe and that your Friday the 13th got better. You are awesome with the FD! I hope it went well.✨
@at Thanks for the quote, very meaningful for me this month.😊 “Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come! Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome”

@jessyoursize the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge that takes place every November? That sounds very interesting. Do you know what your novel is going to be about?
I love this group! Fasting is different and it is dynamic, we are flexible and we are strong!✨✨✨✨🤜🏻🤛🏻✨✨✨ Our Group reminds me of a quote, “Strong lives are motivated by dynamic purposes.”

Day 14, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD
It is so cold. Snowed last night on the mountains around us.
Yesterday’s FD morphed into a NFD around 6pm because I got so cold during volunteering at the preparation for “Strut your Mutt” 🐕 that I caved and checked out the treats for volunteers. I started with peanuts and should have left it at that. But then a granola bar, some candy 🍭(I apologize to my no sweets in October peeps) and a slice of pizza 🍕 found their way mysteriously into my mouth. 😄😄😄
Today it will be so much colder ❄ volunteering at the actual “Strut your Mutt” 🐕 event. Preparing tea 🍵 to take with me.
Have a good Saturday everyone! 😊😊😊
Day 14, UK, NFD
Yesterday being the 2nd day of B2B came to a shuddering halt in a pizza, wine and icecream frenzy😔 I’ve not had anything to eat so far today, but there is another pizza in the fridge and more wine to be drunk. I was 0.2kg up from the October starting point this morning and with a week of all inclusive holiday coming up a week from now, it looks like I’ll be lucky if I manage to stay at the starting point. Never mind losing anything!
Thank you for the prayers and asking about Jasmine. I’m not sure what to make of what the vet said. The good news is that she doesn’t have cancer. The bad news is that I am skeptical of what the vet thinks happened. I will follow the instructions the vet gave and go from there.
I’m sort of struggling. First, I gained a bit of weight Wednesday and Thursday after a good loss—I felt like I was doing well. My hunch is that the scale was up because of something other than what I ate. My allergies seem ok but I noticed the corners of my eyes are a bit red. I do feel just a little wore out. My son is home for the weekend. He surprised me!! So, my eating is quite off but I am thoroughly enjoying spending some quality time with him.
I am going to do a whole food mostly vegan challenge for 21 days to see how I feel. I will start Monday. I’ve picked a few recipes. It’s a whole lot easier keeping my calories low on FD days when I eat whole food and less animal foods. It is so much more satisfying. (a lot more volume and few calories). Recently, I tried it for a week and I think there was improvement in how I felt. I want to try it for longer to get a better idea of how I feel.
@anna6: thank you for the tips on finding recipes. My google search somehow sent me to straightupfood. It is whole food so far the recipes seems simple. My goal is to eat mostly whole food and few animal products. I’m going to do a 21 day challenge (at home only—it’s way too difficult when away from home).
@dykask: I hope you’re feeling better—glad the medicine is starting to work. I appreciate what you’re saying about focusing on long term losses vs. letting the scale derail or disappoint.
@rahul1905: I really struggle with hormones the week before my TOM. I really derail myself. Does anyone else have this experience? I do really well all month and feel in control. Then that week sets me off into a SAD until I restart.
@maddyg: Happy Anniversary!!
@basyjames: OHNO!! I hope you and the patients are all doing ok.
@at a night with your friends sounds fun!! Congrats on you weight loss!
@cipher1971 congrats to you and your hubby for good feedback on the scale!!
@molij: My son surprised me by coming home last night. I haven’t been fasting the way I normally do (having 1 meal). So, I’m struggling too. I hope you are doing better and enjoying the visitors.
@daffodil2010: I read what you did to battle hunger. It seems likely that your body was communicating with you and needed that omelet. IMO you still had a great day. Congrats on the new low!!
@bert1802 EXCELLENT work on decluttering.
@songbirdme: it is inspiring that you’ve been at goal for a year. I’m grateful that you’re still here so, people like me who are trying to figure it out, can learn from you.
@redrockgirl302: it really is hard to so no to all of those goodies when you’re at events. It’s great that you’re doing so much to help pets and make their lives better.
Waving at everyone and hope you’re having a great weekend!!
Day 14 – McMinnville Oregon USA – NFD
Managed my liquid fast yesterday but had a splitting headache all day so fasting felt like a struggle. It’s not like me to have headaches so I’m wondering if it was all that sugar I had the day before???
@songbirdme – I’ve attended several Met Opera live streams and they are wonderful. I feel like I have the best seat in the house. Have fun!!
@bigviking – Don’t beat yourself up, just press the RESET button ❎
second post
Many thanks to everyone for wishing my cold gone. I felt much better today apart from a few coughing fits, but the cough always lingers I find.
It was such a beautiful day! The rabbits all thoroughly enjoyed it, alternating between sunbathing and rummaging through the fallen leaves for the tastiest ones. The last two fluffy rabbits arrived and are making the most of my boarding cages where they are temporarily housed. They were supposed to be one of each sex but are both boys, unfortunately, now I can’t pair them up and so am short a permanent place to keep one of them unless I come up with a different match. Anyway, they need to visit the vet and get a certain little operation done first. Six of them is quite enough! Their other brother who is outside spent a good part of the day flirting with Iris through the fence making Merry very very unMerry and nearly starting a fight. And the sister somehow got out of her run and went walkabout. I am really hoping she slipped out past a volunteer and didn’t manage to scale the fence. We don’t need a family of Houdinis.
Little blind piggy seems to be feeling better and is eating more. Tonight she has a companion as while I was taking advantage of the warm weather to get a group of piggies bathed I found one with a nasty bladder infection so I have kept her inside too. Hopefully they can help each other get better.
Day 14, Norway, NFD
Forgot to post yesterday… i was not happy on the scale yesterday. In spite of a fairly CD week, and successful FDś monday and thursday, i had gained 700grams by friday morning. Oh well….im over it now.
And what are your secrets?! I see a lot of you remembering what someone said….and @-them… i see lots of things i want to comment on, give hugs and prayers to, ask about etc…but by the time I’ve read through all the post, who said what is gone from my memory…how do you guys do this? :):) Im impressed.
First i was going to ask about Jasmine, @oxoxo:) I LOVE animals, and especially dogs. I have 3 at the moment. How is she doing?
@okeydokey – thanks, then i will keep enjoying my sugar free spearmint gum. And i really really have to work on drinking water…havent done it…so …
And regarding people not seeing my weightloss…i really dont like to get attention anyways, so I’m really OK with it…but it would be a sign that it is visible. So again, my colleague who really nags about me not eating mondays and thursdays… i talked to her about bras the other day, and i said i think I’m wearing a size too big, as my breast didn’t fill it out anymore…(lost some cm on my upper body)…and she suggested it was due to my age. Im 38yrs old, and haven’t got any kids…so no….hehe… but i just didn’t reply…letting her think what she wants….
tonight its saturday… “in my old days” i used to consume lots of food, and lots of chocolate, chips, candy…. i still do, but not the same amount, not by far…. and I’m not longer scared of slowing my metabolism by skipping meals where i dont feel like eating.
Thanks to everyone on this forum.
(My OH said that when i reach my weight goal, we could get one more dog (as a prize/motivator):):):) I haven’t told him yet, but for now I’m happy with “just” three…but we would like to have a new foundland-dog in our lives again sometime…:)
Day 13 & 14 SW WA USA – NFDs
Up in BC enjoying family & friends from days gone by. So far making fairly intentional choices. Only one concern – I have a feeling my dad picked up a birthday cake as a surprise for later. I’ve been so good with the no sugar challenge. Not sure what to do.
@at – I Agee with @okeydokey, your quote really resonated with me: “Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go,just remember how far you have come! Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and fears you have overcome.” Thank you!
Day 14–abq–nfd
Trying to post from my phone so there will be plenty of typos.
@jarbia– i hope everything will be okay for your oh and you. And even if it turns out to be a cancer, treatments are so advanced now and docs can share their beat protocols all over the world. My oh is getting MD Anderson treatment here in albuquerque, because the docs have all learned the treatments.
@jessyoursize–i joined nanowrimo a few years ago when i was still in a writing groupd and felt like i had really good momentum but never wemt to any of the write-ins. I just got an email yesterday from the organizers and have been thinking about making this year the. 50,000 word year. I need a creative boost. If they have write ins at the frontier again this year i might go. Maybe ill see you there.
@at– I can’t remember what I was going to say to you but I’m sure it was reallllllly interesting😉
Posting by phone is not my forte. I hope everyone whose weight is up comes down, and whose mood is down comes up.

Day 15 Gold Coast NFD
Yesterday was quite a good CD. I had to stop at the shops after work, and hubby had asked me to buy him M&Ms as a treat! So my first challenge was to get down the lolly aisle without buying anything for myself, which I did.
But I knew I would be looking for snacks when I got home, so I picked up some bits and pieces that I could safely snack on so I didn’t feel deprived or have to battle with the craving. I got some nuts, crunchy sprouts and cauliflower (I love raw cauliflower as a snack). There was enough variety for me to feel satisfied until dinner and I kept them to small amounts.
Day 15 – Japan – NFD 83.9kg
My weight is going up a bit but it might be just form the medication and lack of activity. I’ve competed two days of the five days of medication. I’m feeling better in general, less fever and the throat pain is down to the normal sore throat from coughing. Before it was really bad when anything happened like a cough or a swallow. Clearly not the worst pain possible but it was really getting to me.
My goal is to get healthy and possible have a FD on Friday. I have to play it by ear.
My fasting is typically zero calorie and for 36+ hours. So it is long enough to start losing white blood cells, which is the last thing you need when the body is fighting virus/infections.
