  • Day 12 Lancaster, PA FD
    Day 11 FD <500
    Day 10 Liquid Fast

@erika45 I just ordered progesterone cream. It helps me. Long story short, I had Uterine cancer, the chemo they gave me caused me to go into menopause at 35 years of age. The progesterone cream helps me. Check the ingredients, it might help you also. Usually I go for a more herbal product, but I found the Rosemary that is in most natural products, has caused migraines for me. This one doesn’t have Rosemary and it seems to work well for me. https://m.pipingrock.com/progesterone. I hope you are feeling well soon. 🤗✨🤗
@strawberriesandcream @jarbia @belfastsink. I Hope things get better for all of us. I can relate in a way. I am so not motivated. I’ve been fasting, today added a salad keeping it below 500 cals. I haven’t checked my weight, basically because I don’t feel like I’m eradicating any fat yet.😜 I haven’t been able to break into the 140’s. Still stuck in 150’s lbs. I’m feeling like I have no energy and no motivation. I’m not really hungry just nervous energy, tried chewing gum. Didn’t really help so I stopped.

😀🤗😀 I stopped chewing gum. I’m still going to have a FD below 500 cals. I am that stubborn.😂

    Day 12 – ABQ, USA – NFD

Okay first of all I am in LOVE with B2B2B now! The second and third days are soooo much easier rather than starting from scratch when there is a NFD in between!

The scales gods tricked me a little this morning when I groggily got on it at the crack of dawn (i’m not a morning person, can you tell?) I literally yelped with joy when I saw 153!!! I did a happy dance all across the room, and went to Facetime my BFF with my joyous news, and when I stepped on it again it said 157.9. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I had to hop on and off the scale a few more times before I accepted that the scale tricked me. I am still doing a happy dance though cause about 6 lbs of loss – um yes I will take it! I mean technically this means I’ve only lost 2 lbs this month though since I had the 4 lb spike over the weekend. But still.. 💃 💃 💃 💃

So I also decided on my sweet treat – A doughnut! And OMG it was delicious, but I couldn’t even finish it 😅 it was too sweet and it was making me feel sick after just a few bites 😂 . I guess the lesson here is once you go on an (even unintentional) sugar detox, to just let it be lol!

@fatrabbit, I hope you feel better soon, being sick is the worst.

I’m with @bert1802, BBC shows are so much better than american ones! If it weren’t for Hulu, Netflix, Amazon & YouTube I have no idea what I’d do! I even disconnect cable like 3 years ago since most of the shows on american tv are pretty awful and the ones I do like I can get on one of the above programs.

Guys this has been such a great month for so many of us and we aren’t even half way there yet! Let’s keep up the good work!!

    Day 12, Norway, FD
    second post…just checking in…instead of eating 🙂

@fatrabbit, @at – thanks for sharing your “other benefits” 🙂

@bert1802 – thanks for the story about your 4month long plateau…i need to work on looking for other positive things, not just the scale numbers…tonight I’m gonna do my measuring.

@okeydokey – whats up with chewing gum..should i quit? or not chew on Fd´s?…i chew sugar free several times a day…..i neeeeeed it 🙂

and for everyone feeling like dropping out, please dont. I love the diversity in this group…one week someone “is here”, the next “they are here”….every week someone else is at a different stage…and it shifts…we change each week..if not each day….(badly explained, sounds better in my head, than in a foreign language 🙂

Successful FD, and its almost 8pm…i can do this…

    Day 12, Emden Germany, NFD

    2nd post

I think I’ve probably mentioned this before but in case anyone finds it useful I use this site to keep track of my progress: https://trendweight.com

Looking at my graph my recent plateau is very clear but I can see it coincides with a couple of weeks of hectic work travel and my holiday and that I haven’t been putting weight back on.
    https://trendweight.com/u/48711cb8bd774a/chart/6m.png
I find it quite encouraging to see the overall steady downward trend. I also think it’s interesting to see the scale fluctuations.

@maayyaa – actually very well put. I think this is why these challenges work for so many. While someone is bouyed up they can help someone who is maybe floundering, knowing that if ever they find things difficult someone will be there for them. I know when I found things difficult and I seemed to be going backwards my virtual friends rallied round me. I know I have to be the one that takes charge but knowing you are with me helps. Don’t despair we all go through difficult periods it is the ebb and flow – just ride the wave ❤

@liathanail – it’s also good to notice that even though your weight may have gone up it never went back to when you started so always a downward trend. Well done x

Day 12 Sicily NFD This evening has been hard. I’m ending the day just below my TDEE. But, there are things calling to me in this apt. I’ve got 40 minutes before bed. I’m going to have tea and call it a day. You all give me fortitude!

Day 13 Gold Coast AUS, CD

A good FD yesterday, down another .1 kg. I need to better manage the CD days between FDs, bu getting there. I was thinking about doing B2B today, but don’t think I will as was very low in spirits yesterday.

    Day 12—ABQ—NFD
I got carried away with a catered breakfast at work and forgot I had told myself I would be very circumspect around the food. How very convenient!
Anyway, I’m trying to get through to Friday at 4:30. Work, which is always stressful, has been quite a bit more recently. I think it’s going to be this way for a few more months and then…well, who knows? New administration, new director, new lease on worklife.

jessyoursize—Well????? The suspense is killing me! Cookie, Rebel doughnut or chocolate-covered strawberries?

Aljomisaza—Hooray for baking! Tonight I’m roasting beets for salad and sweet potatoes for pie. Also, this weekend I’m going to make lasagna for OH to eat while I’m out of town, and some pretzels for a friend’s Oktoberfest party.

Erika45—I think we’re in the same boat with menopause and insomnia. I really just want to get it (i.e., menopause) over with. I don’t know if there’s a solution unless you’re willing to take HRT, which I probably will but I know not everybody is into. I currently take valerian and am signed up for a sleep study to see if there are any other issues playing into it besides hormones.

Strawberriesandcream—Had to go back to see what your ‘gizmo’ was. Cool! I hope it gives you the motivation you are seeking. Why is it that abdominal exercises are exponentially more difficult/painful/unpleasant than any other kind of exercises? What is it about those muscles that makes them so stubborn? Anyway, I’m having a backwater kind of moment too. Good luck to you.

Maayyaa—I lost the bulk of my weight by the beginning of August and am only now getting comments. I think people here live in their own bubbles and just don’t pay attention! It’s okay. I feel great.

Bert1802—It’s more than just a fluctuation: it’s climate change, AKA the ‘new normal.’ Hurricanes, heat records, shrinking glaciers, floods, drought and high winds leading to catastrophic fires, and ‘weird weather;’ they are all symptoms of the change that Earth Systems Scientists have been talking about for decades (I remember reading about it in college in the early 90s). I just hope we humans can adapt in time.

lindasue, AT, basyjames, jessyoursize, Penz – Congratulations all! You did it! Onward and downward.

For those that pray please say a prayer for my dog, Jasmine. She is at the vet now and I am not sure what is wrong with her.

My challenge today (besides worry) is going to be exercise. I didn’t get it done this morning and keep trying to remind myself that I have to do it.

I’ve seen a lot of online chatter asking questions like “what is your favorite bbc program” and after seeing so many of you saying how good it is I am going to see if I can find any shows on Netflix.

I see a lot of comments about how good your meals were: I strongly believe everything tastes better when you’re hungry. Previously, I was in a constantly fed state. Now, I love getting hungry and appreciating the meal.

@jessyoursize: congrats on losing 4 pounds!

@anna6: I forgot about the Hairy Bikers. I just found some recipes online. I’m looking forward to exploring them a bit.

@maayyaa: is it possible that people are hesitant to say anything because some people get offended if you ask them if they’ve lost weight. I’d never be offended by that but … some are. Excellent report on your resting heart rate. I might have to check mine—I don’t even know what it is to be honest. You’ve inspired me to keep an eye on it.

@fatrabbit: I hope you’re feeling better. I agree that it would have been great to have known about fasting years ago. It is life changing.

@flourbaby: I am so excited for you! A new low—happy dancing for you!

@coda: that is a good tip on supplements. I think I have LGlutamine in the cupboard.

@bert1802 happy dance for you too!! It’s great that you are sizing down.
@penz: it’s great that you’re looking at yourself and liking what you see!! I lost weight in 2010 and thought I looked the same—not necessarily bad—just couldn’t see the 25 pounds gone. Either I wasn’t self-aware before the weight loss, or after. I’m glad you’re enjoying and feeling good!!

@jessyoursize: awe, that darn scale played a trick on you! I’m glad the weight is coming off for you!! It is great that your taste buds are changing. Sometimes I think mine are and then the next time I eat something sweet and it tastes great. Go figure?

    What is a pocketeer?

Day 12, USA, Missouri Ozarks, NFD

Survived my three days of fasting, broke it today a noon at Wendy’s with chili, fries and a Jr. Frostee/orange soda float.

    Pizza and salad for dinner.

Had a great day out with friends, the weather was stunning. Perfect fall day. I try to soak them up to store them for January !

Normally would be off work tomorrow but agreed to come in midday for a couple of hours to go over Interrogatory questions/answers with a divorce client as that is his only day off. Don’t mind a bit, will go by the garden center and get a few more mums. Everybody loved my Fall display today !

Wishing everybody well, have sent up prayers XOXO that you get a good report from the vet.

And thank you, keetseel for your kind words.

    Day 11 | UK | NFD
    Day 12 | UK | FD

    Day 12 – Japan – NFD 83.8kg
    Day 13 – Japan – NFD(?) 83.1kg

Still sick, been running a fever last two to three days. Probably time to go to a Japanese Doctor. I just don’t like it because they will put me on a much of different medications for a couple of weeks. But sometimes that is what it takes. The is the sickest I’ve been in a decade so I guess I can’t complain too much.

    Day 13 – NFD – Brisbane, Australia

I am down .4kg from last Friday…wooohooo. In previous years, when I have dieted I have always plateaued at 74-75kgs, I am now at 72kgs…this WOL works!

DH is finally on board. He has always grumbled about FD’s, he was hungry, light headed, fuzzy etc etc, yesterday there were no complaints. He is sleeping like a baby after having been a poor sleeper for years. I am looking forward to his next check up to see if his cholesterol is down (he is currently on medication).

I have started the day with Michael Mosely’s Nutty Granola (so delicious) berries, Greek yoghurt and a little light milk, followed by a skinny cappuccino. I will eat a very light lunch and then DH is taking me out to dinner for our date night. I love that I can “splurge” on a dinner out and weekend treats and still lose weight each week.
@bert1802 I am looking forward to my “sitting apparatus” decreasing in size, unfortunately my SA and thighs are the last to decrease 🙁
@dykask Hope your health improves soon. Hang in there!

Keep posting everyone, you encourage me and make me laugh.

DISCIPLINE, NOT DESIRE, DETERMINES YOUR DESTINATION

    Second Post:

@liathanail, ohhh interesting! I just signed up myself! I like seeing that trend downward!!
@keetseel, I choose the Rebel donut! It was delicious, but so sweet after none for 3 days, i only finished half! lol!

Day 12 – McMinnville Oregon USA – NFD
    Day 11 – NFD
I didn’t check in yesterday, no internet at the coast so I’m behind in reading posts. My eating was not controlled while away. Treated myself to fish and chips for dinner which were superb, full on breakfast 🥓 dim sum for lunch, fancy French restaurant for dinner. 🍷 Oh well it was my sisters birthday. 🎂 The night spent at the beach was sleepless due to a thunder and lighting storm like I’ve never experienced. ⚡️ I kept waiting for the roof to fall in. 😱

I’ve been feeling drained and out of it and my sweet tooth raised it’s ugly head today. 🍩🍰 Not usually my thing but I really went off the rails today.
So tomorrow will be a FD and I think I’m going to make it a liquid only. It just seemed easier.

@jarbia – Your experience at the lake was similar to mine at the ocean!! We will now press the RESET button and get back on track. Hang in there!!
    @at – Great encouragement!!
@dykask – Sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly, I think the Dr. visit is probably a good choice.
@lindasue – Congratulations on getting into your “new” smaller shirt.
    @jessyoursize – Good job 4 lbs in 2 days!!

@at – congratulations on making maintenance! Way to go!

    @fatrabbit – hope you’re feeling better soon.

@xoxo – hugs and prayers for your dog Jasmine. BTW, a “pocketeer” is the nickname for the “pocket fasters” whose nick goes back many months when a list of fasters would be put in someone’s pocket for support.

@lindasue -Wendy’s does indeed make very good chile!

Today has been much more controlled than yesterday was for me!

Whew!! My Chicago Cubs baseball team will move on! I am a bundle of relieved nerves! SO proud of myself I didn’t drink through this tense game, or eat. Brushed my teeth early so I wouldn’t snack! (Cubs won the World Series last year, so it’s terrific to keep winning in the ‘post season’ playoffs.)

    Day 13 | Sydney Australia | FD

It’s 4:39 pm and I just had my first “meal” of the day: some miso soup for 25 calories.

I did have a couple of big cups of coffee with unsweetened almond milk earlier. About 16 calories for each of those.

I’ve bought the ingredients and tonight I’m going to try making a low calorie Thai red curry. With pumpkin as the main ingredient. I should be able to keep that under 150 calories (using konjac noodles instead of rice).

    Day 13 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD (liquid only)

Yesterday was a controlled NFD, well under TDEE, rewarded with .5 lb down so now at new lowest weight. Today my Dad goes back to Dublin (he has a full on social life waiting for him this weekend – he is 81 and gets out more than me 😆), while I have a liquid only FD to look forward to.

But I AM looking forward to it. I have decided that when I can I will have a liquid only FD on a Friday as it sets me up for the inevitable weekend wine appreciation splurge 🍷 .
Is there anybody else joining me for the LFD today?

I am looking slimmer. Caught sight of myself in the mirror yesterday and suddenly noticed that my face has got toned and I look slimmer all round 💃

Oh oh oh, yes, my DH has said he will join me on this WOL from next week. Finally I got to him!!!

@jessyoursize I agree that B2B are great. Before I tried I was nervous but it’s easy peasy.

    Day 13 North Wales NFD

    Very successful FD yesterday,

    Day 13 – Woking, UK – NFD
    239.8lbs
Bit of a bounce back up so will try and be a bit more controlled today.

    Day 13 UK – NFD

After my two fast days this week I have lost nothing, zilch, zero, nada. How can this be? Depression looms….

DAY 13 – UK – CD (Controlled day)

My FD went nearly ok yesterday, I just couldn’t resist the Baked Apple after a sensible meal. But I am happy as I feel I am getting back on track….nothing until 5.30 and no snacks or cheats after the fatal Apple (I have a tree load, what else can a girl do!!!)

Big day to-day, Hubby had an Endoscopy last week as he suffers from indigestion….he is fit, eats healthily has never smoked and probably only has two or three glasses of red wine a week. It showed up a “G I S T” a small tumour on the wall of his stomach..we have had no further news on the Biopsy, but he has to go for a Scan to-day to see if it has encroached beyond the inside wall. We know little about it all really, and are being ostriches at the mo….cannot believe that it’s happening….and pray that it’s benign and all will be ok. I am supposed to be going to Cornwall with girlfriends for a week’s walking…if there is bad news I obviously won’t go….but we are thinking positively…(our 28th wedding Anniversary to-day what a present). (It’s my 2nd marriage, and every day I thank God I met him!!!) Please cross your fingers for us.

    Day 13 – 🇬🇧- FD

Determined to get through the first fast day of this week!!!!

I’ve decided b2b’s don’t suit me – I go overboard on NFD days and can’t seem to focus on the FD day.

I guess we just have to figure out what works for us individually- good to hear other people’s experiences. So wish me luck for today 😊

    Day 12, UK, FD
2nd day of B2B. Need to kick start this month’s weight loss before I had off on my all inclusive break…

    Norway, Day 13, FD

Had to move my FD from yeasterday to today, as we had dinner at our neghbour’s last night.

Today is going to be a hard day, I can feel it. I do not like fasting of Fridays. But I will do my very best.

I am so busy with work and kids these days, and with such an active group I actually can’t follow! I try to browse the posts, but I don’t get to read all of them in detail, I am so sorry for that.

I hope everyone are feeling good and not having any bad things happening in their lives <3

    Day 13 UK NFD

Struggled to finish my work yesterday and then collapsed into bed and binge watched TURИ. It says a lot about how bad I felt that I watched something in English. I very rarely do that. I felt like binge comfort eating too but thanks to careful shopping there was nothing available and so contented myself with a stray jar of pesto on wheat free pasta. It contained a shocking amount of calories compared to what I usually eat but I don’t get sick often so it is unlikely to become habit.

    Day 13 Reykjavik NFD

The weekly scale day has arrived, this time after a pretty successful b2b FD.
Dare I say it, dare I write it; the Glass Floor of 95 kg has finally been broken
🙂 My weight this morning was 94.1 kg, down 1.0 kg from last week and -1.4 in last two weeks. Now when this 95 kg barrier has been overcome I can firmly set my sights on my big goal; getting below 90 kg.

I also did body measurements this morning and I’m -2 cm over the tummy and -2 cm over the chest since 1st September (-3.1 kg).

I started doing 5:2 half a year ago as a diet method, first in mid April to mid June (2 months) and now again from 1st Sept. During this time I’ve lost close to 10 kg (9.5 kg to be exact). But as I have experienced 5:2 over this time and re-programmed my system around it, I have come to think of it more and more as a WOL. It’s because 5:2 has such a multiple positive benefits and losing weight, although important, is only one of them.

This weekend is my company’s annual party, so I will probably not stay true to my dry October, but I plan to temper the drinks to a bare minimum. It can be tricky trying to balance socialising and keeping oneself on the right track. But I’m learning it. My tuxedo should at least fit me better now 😉

    Have a nice day everyone

    Day 13 Belfast FD

@metatauta – my both my sons live within a 10 minute drive of Ballybrack. Small world!
Well done to your OH. it must be your good example!
@jarbia, @ Strawberriesandcream and @belfastsink -from someone was stuck on a plateau for several months, this year stay strong and think positive. Despite the scales not going down, I lost inches. If you are maintaining, you are not putting on weight. 😜 your mojo will come back.
@xoxo. The hairy bikers have a ‘Hairy Dieters’ cookbook with calories counted recipes -not rocket science, but quite good. And so sorry to hear about your furry friend. Hope all is well.
@coda – that’s a good motivation. Well done on your superfast. Even two days with a gap in between seems to have reset my metabolism. BTW , your little cutting is now in autumn mode and looks like a dead twig! Maybe it would be best to pass it over in the spring? 😮
@rainbowsmile – being a mature student is tough. It takes a while to get to grips with studying again, especially when you have been through a crazy time like you have. You’ve already done the hardest thing, that is sign up for the course. You are such a strong woman. YOU CAN DO IT!
@bert1802 great post and yes, my ‘sitting apparatus’ is definitely smaller! (Love that phrase!) it was one of the first things to get smaller!
Well done @at on your skinny jeans!
@dykask – glad you’re going to a doctor. Get well soon.
@jarbia – my thoughts and best wishes for your OH.
@daffodil – I’m with you on that liquid fast.
@fatrabbit – get well soon – do I take it from your post that English is not your first language? If so, your English is amazing!

I went to the physio yesterday, because I was getting a ‘clunk’ in my hip when I did some of the Pilates exercises. He suggested that it might be the socket moving around in the hip joint. He also thinks I have inflammation in the joint. As I am allergic to anti inflammatories, he has recommended taking an ice bath for a week and stopping most of my exercise for a week too to see if that helps (no squats but will keep on with the plank) ☹️ So, last night, I went to our local convenience store and bought bags of ‘party ice’ – what a misnomer! – and got into the bath. Well, I can tell you my sitting apparatus was very cold indeed! If it’s not better in a week, it’s off of the doctors for me.
On the Positive side, I started my art course last night and am quite inspired.

    Here’s to liquid fasting Daffodil.

    second post

@debster251 English is my first and only fluent language, which is why I usually don’t watch tv in it. Too easy! That said I am not enough of a glutton for punishment to sit in an icebath. Not even my regard for Russian would bring me to do that. My hips always clunk, they always have. Loose ligaments are a bit of a family thing. Still I hope that helps you. Clearly you are a stronger person than me to put yourself through that!

Sitting apparatus is a great phrase. Mine has greatly reduced which only highlights just how enormous it was. I thought my hips were much bigger than they actually are, and used their supposed size to justify most of said apparatus. My hips are down to 36 inches to my amazement and my ‘tatas’ are in danger of disappearing entirely. How wonderful:) I used to hate how they bounced. What a difference a year makes!

Update – I just got back from a clinic and will be on 5 days of antibiotics. Basically I still have a cold but I have a mild case of bronchitis plus an infection in my lower pharynx which is the back of the throat. When I got to the doctor’s office my temperature was up to an uncomfortable 38.7C. (101.6F).

The amazing thing is I just went as a walk-in and didn’t use insurance. (I have HSA) Anyway it took about an hour and the total cost for seeing the doctor and getting the medicine was 6070 yen. (< $55 US) Almost nothing, co-pays in the USA can be higher than that. The doctor put me on 5 different medications for 5 days which is typical in Japan if you are actually sick. (antibiotic, anti-inflammatory for infection and fever, cough and two medicines to dry me up a bit.

Anyway sorry I’ve been out of it. I’m about 200 posts behind right now.

@fatrabbit. Am hoping my problem is just loose ligaments, We’ll see. Have you been watching Simon Reeves programme on Russia on the BBC? Having done Russian O level at school, I have always had an interest. My brother is married to a Russian girl and spends a considerable amount of time there,

    Day 13 Wales NFD

Woke with terrible headache today after yesterday’s good FD. 2 glasses of water and 3 mugs of earl grey later headache gone – suggests I didn’t drink enough yesterday. I will need to be careful to drink more water on FDs now that the days are cooler its easy to forget.

@xoxo – it’s horrible when our furbabies are sick as they can’t tell us what is wrong. Hope the vet makes her better quickly.

@jarbia – hoping you get good news today for your OH.

@fatrabbit – with 36 inch hips I’d say your more of a skinny hare!

    Happy Friday everyone x

    Day 13, South Wales, NFD/16:8

Right, this weekend has to be controlled. Those scales need to move otherwise this month will be a measly 1lb down….

Day 12 – West Midlands, UK – NFD

A late check in for yesterday.

not a bad NFD – came in at under TDEE despite a buffet lunch at work, and a little sweet popcorn at the cinema, but it was a struggle, having said that overall I have had a successful week, so hoping the scales at weightwatchers are kind tonight – especially after the undeserved 2.5lb gain last week – more importantly hope the scale is kind to the OH, as he has been gaining week on week but this week I have made him track all his food, so hoping for a downward movement, especially as with his MH issues a negative reading sends him into a spiral of emotional eating (and drinking).

Well today is a FD, so I will do my day 13 checkin (with latest weight) later.

    TTFN

    Day 13……Florida……FD

I was doing so well, but a chocolate bell came up to me and slapped be right in the face and to get even I had to eat it. I had to teach it a lesson……

Last day of work for the week….. it feels like it has been such a long week.

So, you’ve got people who are all up in your eating business, telling you that starving yourself isn’t good for you, ya da, ya da, ya da, and you feel as if you don’t have anything to show for it. It takes 4 weeks for you to feel it, 8 weeks to see it and 12 weeks for other to see it, well at least that what they say. I found that people who don’t understand are the ones who run their mouths the most.
It took me forever to open up about my WOE, when I did I try to educate people. Mainly, tell them to watch the Dr.’s documentary.
There is really no cure for the nay sayers, one must rise above the chatter, remember you read the scientific proof, and you’ve reaped the benefits, so you must just push through. Soon, your proof with shine through!

Okay, well I’m off to save the day!

I saw a little stiletto of a man, he’s on the loose, he’s on the loose carrying a can of fandango!

    Day 14, Gozo Malta, nfd

Thanks Penz. I hope to get to target soon and stay there.

XOXO apart of a book with low calorie recipes from the hairy biker, I have several books “without the calories” by Kustine Pattinson. I find them useful and they taste good too or so my family says. A little prayer your vet gives you a god report on your pet.

Today we’re having corn fed chicken with baked potatoes and carrots. I also did some chicken broth with celery, carrots and small pasta shapes.

Have a great Friday everyone, together we’re stronger.

@bluefootedruby – There are many factors involved is scale weight. So without knowing anything about what you are eating and what you are doing people can only guess. Just don’t let it get to you! Personally I measure my progress in years, I’ve only fasted for just over a year, although I’m on a sick break now. 5 years ago my weight was 106kg and now after not fasting for a week it is around 83kg. 18 months ago I was still around 90kg.

It is a journey with lots of little setbacks. Over time the wins add up!

    Day 13, India, NFD
For the first time since I started this diet in June I have had a week without a single FD. I have been suffering from PMS the whole week. I have severe stomach cramps and acidity. So I have been eating 3 meals a day. And next week I will be traveling so will get back to this in November.

    Day 13 😈 FRIDAY 😈 Newcastle 🇬🇧 UK NFD
Still maintaining well but work has got extremely busy. Haven’t had a chance to read many posts lately I feel I must make more of an effort. Hope everyone’s doing well and getting there

    Day 13, US, NFD
    Have a good weekend everyone!

#Jarbia today is our 33 year wedding anniversary. I hope only good news for you and your husband.

I have not fasted this week but have been careful with my food. Still down 2 pounds so far this week to 174 from 186.4 back in August. Still hoping to get out of the 70’s this month.

Hello day 13 from Co Down NI NFD

    @xoxo – how is Jasmine?

@jarbia – oh I can only imagine the pain you are both going through. You try to think positive but that thought ‘but what if’ always comes back, to be pushed away with ‘we will wait and see’ and round it goes – a roller coaster of emotions. I hope it is nothing as serious as you must be imagining. Hugs and prayers.

    @tenoro – well done you!

@debster251 – Ice baths and mad comes to mind Brrrrrrrrrr. Maybe replanting as a twig would be the best time to plant when it is sleeping? I would still like to meet for coffee when I can drive again. Glad you are enjoying your art class.

@dykask – hope you start to feel better soon

    @bluefootedruby – what are your NFD’s like?

Hope everyone has a good weekend – I’m going out for a Thai meal tonight with OH. After the LF’s I fill up so easily so I hope I can do it justice or it may mean a doggie bag coming home with me. When I was in the fruit shop they were offering little haribo bags of sweets with every purchase. I took one and gave it to one of my sons – they didn’t interest me in the slightest? Sweet Free and no alcohol – go me!

    Second post

Feeling extremely refreshed after a 10 min swim (300+ meters) in the 7 degree Celsius North Atlantic Sea during lunch. Afterwards it feels incredible, just like every single cell in my body has just woken up and is on alert. I´m simply bursting with energy!
I fully recommend this for everyone who is physically up to it.

    @coda – thanks. I´m really pleased.

Day 13, Rocky Mountains, US, FD

Yesterday’s FD went well. Today another FD. Also no sweets, no alcohol.

@xoxo: How is your puppy? Hope Jasmine feels better. Sending positive thoughts.💚🐕💜

@jarbia: Hope that your husband will be fine. Sending positive vibes.🌺🌻🌼

This afternoon I will volunteer for “Strut your Mutt” 🐕🐕🐕 organized by Best Friends Animal Society. It is their big fundraiser. I will do pre-registration. The Strut itself is tomorrow and it will be very cold. Volunteering then also. Have to ask for an XL or XXL volunteer t-shirt as we have to have it as the outer layer, yes, I have to put it over my thick winter jacket. 😄😄😄

Have a good Friday everyone! 😊😊😊

    Day 13 – USA – FD

@jarbia, thinking of you and OH at this time…hope you get good news! @tenoro, good for you on your dispatch and BRRRR is all I can say….7 celsius is 44.6 Farenheit, yikes. @xoxo, hope Jasmine has a clean bill of health soon. @dykask, glad you went to the dr. and hope your infection clears up soon…I used to get bronchitis 1x a year when younger. @fatrabbit, good for you – I haven’t seen 36 inch hips since I was a kid! @rahul1905, feel better soon! @maddyg, a very happy anniversary and glad you found your keeper! I, too, am aiming to get out of the 70s. @coda, proud of you for resisting that sweet!

@dykask Thanks for the encouragement. I know it’s a long term thing and I need to keep at it and change the way I eat really. It’s just that losing even a smidgeon is such a boost!

@coda I try to still be careful on NFDs. But I do have to fight the thought that ‘its OK to eat what I want today because I fasted yesterday’. I need to up my willpower!

@tenoro – reminds me of a visit to Donegal March last year and I said to OH that if we are going to Donegal and as the beaches are spectacular we have to have a dip in the Atlantic. We did it but it was literally a dip – in and out as quick as we could, no swimming for 2 mins, never mind 10 – it was heart stoppingly (not sure if that is a word) freezing! However once out, the exhilaration hits you and I tried to talk him into going in again but he wasn’t having it. The tingle of your skin and the ‘alive’ feeling is amazing – ha ha @debster251 is that what sitting in an ice bath is doing for you?
