    I’m glad to be joining the group. I’ve been watching my parents and participating on the side lines. I lost 3lbs this past week, my parents are @okeydokey and @fordprefect in the group! 🙂

    Taking this as a FD even although very slightly over 500 calories! Don’t plan to eat for the rest of the day so should be fine.

    I smell pickles. Weird since there isn’t a pickle to be seen anywhere.

    I am struggling, got a lot on with work and upcoming exam, so I expect not to be very controlled, and I’m not going to beat myself up about it. I plan to be back on track with being very controlled after my exam on Thursday… Have a good weekend

    I get lots of holes in my shirts too. There is a rather revealing one over my left breast right now and several others dotted about. There is no mystery about how they got there though. Teeth. Somebuns teeth.

    I smelled mustard earlier. But no mustard was anywhere about. Mystery smells and mystery holes … or not so mysterious holes. Can I blame the rabbits for the smell of mustard? Or was it the clever fruit eating ratty. Thankfully I don’t think he has been anywhere near my shirt. He seems to spend his time hollowing out melons and pineapples. And creating mustard smells perhaps…

    Thank you @allsmiles – so it would appear to be stone kitchen counters as some who have taken to wearing an apron said it has stopped, or the reaction of the metal button on jeans on material or said button rubbing on material while at kitchen work top, or seat belts also rubbing on metal button on jeans, or the cheaper material now used in manufacturing. Thank you @at – I ruled out belts/buckles as I never wear one, the boys are hardly around the kitchen works tops much but the metal button seems a very likely suspect. I thought it was just me and mine but it seems loads of people have the same problem, some went to the expense of changing their washing machine, thinking that was the problem. Not sure if it is the chemical reaction of the metal button on cheaper material – but it is b****y annoying!

    Welcome @booper.dooper – what a family affair. I least you are all on the same page and can support one another or keep an eye on one another lol

    @at Thank-you for your positive input. I’m glad I don’t have to go through the surgeries and then travel for the 2.5 weeks… trying to have fun. I’m glad I get a chance to have fun with my family. Then get the oral surgeries later in June.

    I’ve reached my goal! I am at my high school weight which is amazing. And the fast days aren’t even that difficult now. It took since January 1 – about a pound a week. It is so cool to have old clothes fitting again, feel lighter on my feet, less knee aches, etc. etc.

    I wish you all the best….it’s all about perseverance.

    Lost an earlier post so will be quick – pretty day so need to fill the hummingbird feeders, clean the birdbath, finish planting some annuals, etc.

    Today’s weight 142, below goal weight of 145.

    Made the hubby homemade cinnamon coffee cake for brunch. Ate a piece, it turned out great but I really don’t like this kind of food much anymore but wanted to share the meal with him so I did.

    A couple of hours later I ate an egg salad sandwich and it was yummy – even better than last night!

    Going for fasting most of the day and then being part of a potluck this evening. Hoping to cap things at 800. I’ve done fairly well on FDs this week except last night I consumed too many almonds & chocolates.

    So wanting to join those making progress this month of May.

    @allsmiles – yes, Fridays have a special buzz. Today, as I passed the principal, I said, “You know it’s Friday!” And she responded quite excitedly, “Yes, it is!”, and her eyes sparkled.

    Ahhh cheese – ate a piece of gorgeous gorgonzola yesterday- no guilt whatsoever- but what possessed me to eat 60 grams of salami in a sitting and drink too many glasses of red – In need of pocket wino support or the woosh effect.

    Feeling very grumpy and frustrated. I want these extra unhappy pounds gone. I’m a slow and steady loser. So I’m visualising myself in two months time. Who do I want to see? A grumpy, old lady frustrated with progress or the trim, happy, healthier, vibrant woman I know I can be.

    Today is a new day. Aiming for a controlled weekend and a fun Mother’s Day with my family. I will fast on Monday.

    Reminder to myself. 5:2, pure and simple, is my happy place and I’m still under goal weight. This moment will pass.

FYI, 5/3 was not a FD, sorry to say! @flourbaby, good for you! @jojo58, sorry to hear about your four-legged child….we have a 13 year old Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle) who is diabetic….his birthday is tomorrow….we have to shoot him up with insulin 2x a day…the groomer says his daily walks around the lake is what’s keeping him young.

    I’ve had a real struggle trying to read the posts.
    Like @happymargo I also work as an RN in the operating theatre, I’ve gone back to it after a few years doing other RN work which was all desk based. I’m finding long shifts on my feet exhausting and I’m definitely not unfit. Just taking time to adjust to more physical days on top of the mental energy reacquainting myself with theatres.
    It’s been about a month and I think this week has really landed hard on me, had a bit of an energy crisis and only one FD with totally out of control NFDs craving lollies and chocolate. I’m making today a FD even though it’s Saturday and interferes with family life a bit. I really need two FDs, there will be no weight loss but without today to help mitigate the damage there will certainly be a gain.
    Sorry for my absence, even though none of you would have noticed with all the posts to keep up with, I still feel bad to have skipped out on the forum.

    I have never got holes in my tops, but I don’t wear jeans, make my own slacks with side zip. I would try coating your jeans buttons with a lacquer – Incralac used to be around, or you could try clear nail lacquer, to seal them and prevent any chemical reaction. It could relate to your skin’s natural chemistry reacting with the top and then the button – just like some people have trouble with metal watch bands.

    Day 12 Florida USA FD @abogage Congratulations on your success. I’m losing, but not at the rate of a pound a week. I do a strict 5/2 as outlined in Dr Moseley’s 1st book. I did lose a pound a week in 2013- I don’t know what has changed. I still believe in this WOL and I’m keeping at it. I clocked 509 calories today and swam
    laps for 30 minutes. I don’t have a scale but just ordered a measuring tape and I’m going to track measurements for the first time. I weigh myself at the Y once/month. So I’ll see where I am at the start of June. Good luck to everyone worldwide.

    I don’t know what it has to do with providing us with electricity, but it seems to be a good attitude to take on 5:2 when maybe today hasn’t gone to plan😁

    Scales down this morning, which is a nice surprise as lately they seem to creep gradually up after NFD and then a big drop after a FD. Good gym session yesterday and about on TDEE so though some sweet treats and processed carbs have sneaked in this week I’m still very pleased with progress. I bought a new dress this week from Next clearance, bargain price and only a 12. I don’t remember when I last fitted into a 12. 😀

    Morning all! Scales down again today.. now showing 65.6 Kg following third FD this week. Going to a birthday party in the pub tonight but planning on taking the car so no chance of fluid wine type calories being consumed. ! I really don’t want to sabotage all my efforts this week!

    Busy day today as doing registration and final timings at a medium Fell Race so will out in the field most of the day – unfortunately it looks a bit wet out there today…….waterfproofs to the ready with a smile for the contestants as they register and a bigger one for when they cross that finish line ☺️

    OH taking me out for a Thai meal tonight before I drive down south tomorrow – love a good Thai dinner!

    @lany36 you would be surprised to know even though this is a busy thread people do notice when someone goes awol. Why not try a different method rather than full fast days while you are settling into the new type of work. Keep your water intake up if you can. I don’t request emails but just come on to the forum find where I last got to and read what I can. Don’t stress about not keeping up, just do what you are able to and just keep on keeping on.

    @inrenfrey what a lovely boost to the confidence! Well done.

    @onahealthyhigh don’t stress, think of it as a rhythm, as frustrating as it is, you will find your happy place again. Look carefully at what and why you are eating, writing things/thoughts down can help. If you are still under goal weight, what extra lbs are you referring to? Don’t be too hard on yourself.

    I’m up 1 lb this morning – not sure why after two fasts and a reasonably controlled week. Never mind. I haven’t been doing my usual quite strenuous swimming and Pilates for about a month due to chest infection/sisters visit and now holidays. By the time I get back to the pool it will be well into June. However, I’m walking my 10,000 steps on most days. The goal for the next ten days is to stay at the same.

    Gonna try for a really healthy weekend. Have no plans, been so busy at work and away last week and family visiting so now down time. Going to read, walk, gym, eat healthy and DRINK WATER. Getting to the stage where simple things make me happy 😊

    Need to do something – scale not moving, definitely to do with food choices. Going to look at what I’m eating and timings. Might do the two hour window as someone else suggested this weekend, and @bigviking ADF water Fast next week. Like to mix it up.

    So yesterdays’ FD turned into a NFD, below TDEE, but above 800cals. Not too concerned as it would have been my 4th this week and going off plan by using FDs to outrun my bad choices last weekend isn’t the best way for me.

    The pizza didn’t exactly provide a whoosh, but the scales were down this morning, so I’ll take that. Then again, with an energy expenditure weel in excess of 4,000 kcal yesterday, I was hopeful no damage was done!

    14st 10.2lb / 206.2lb / 93.6kg total, so down 8.1lb / 3.7kg for May (after 6x 0 kcal FDs and 6x NFDs).

    185 lbs NFD yesterday but couldn’t even finish the food I had allowed myself as I was really full, so only about 1100 calories again. I might struggle today as I had to deal with something really stressful last night. I have hardly slept and have a headache. I need not to let it sink me entirely. I need to focus on the positive, and fasting is positive and empowering.

    I must admit, I am looking forward for my visitors to leave so that I can do a fast day. 4 days down 4 to go. I am trying to discreetly stay on track and so far so good, we are eating out a lot and it has been very testing, I have managed to miss breakfast each day by saying I’ve already eaten as they get up later so that is helping.

    Home tomorrow after a quite stunning week in Cornwall – the Roseland Peninsular.
    Such a beautiful place, had wonderful walks and too many lovely treats but have enjoyed it all immensely….have two weeks of fasting now before our Northern Ireland holiday!!

    Hopefully in June I can get back into my “fasting stride” and lose all the extra lbs put on!

    Morning All,
    Well done on weight loss successes. I am fasting again today, busy day planned.

    Just got results of a Well Woman blood test. Cholesterol 7.2. Seriously! Can’t be diet related as I don’t eat saturated fats. Fish, eggs and veg my mainstay, no carbs or sugar either. Lots of water and lots of exercise. Hopefully this reduces my risk of a heart attack. Not keen on going on statins, not sure there is enough evidence to support their use. I will do some research.

    Thanks for the well wishes for my dog, Tilly, she is doing fine post surgery. She is on tablet so no pain hopefully. Eating and enjoying her walks so I assume all is well for the moment. My other dog is getting jealous of her getting more attention though, he is male of course. So he is getting extra treats too.

    Good morning all! Sunny here, but last sunny day for awhile – 2″ rain predicted for Mother’s Day – but looks like tide is turning & Spring may finally hit next week!

    Grocery shopped after a stressful day at work & a container of chocolate ice cream found it’s way into my carriage. After a big salad, I fixed a cup & enjoyed every lick! Hence, a very controlled day today. I know I can do it….water, water, water is my mantra.

    Well, today was weigh in day, I’m only up 1.6lbs since before my jaunt to NY. I’m happy with that. I mean it’s so much better than the 7lbs I saw the day I came home.

    I have to work this morning and although every inch of me wants to stay home, I’m actually thinking it’s not gonna be to bad. After all it’s only 5 hours!

    I ended my FD yesterday in a nice fashion with a clementine while watching old music videos with the hubby. Last nights sound was very up beat one hit wonders. We make a game of it, I won with Right Said Fred and I’m too Sexy!

    I want to wish all the Mothers out there as well as single dads who must take on the mother role a very happy Mothers Day! It’s a day to pamper yourselves, make those rotten kids of ours clean the house, make dinner and bring us gifts!
    Ah…. who am I kidding! Our kids aren’t rotten, they are wonderful gifts sent directly to us, to show us love, kindness, forgiveness and happiness in each breath they take!

    Okay, well I’m off!

    So the last 500gms is a bit tricky, weight keeps fluctuating by a couple of 100gms each week, but I’m not overly worried. I recently started back on a gym program and doing some barre pilates so expect that the weight will go up a bit for a while as I put on lean muscle mass before I lose any more fat weight. At least the clothes are looser and that’s the ultimate end goal in any case.

    MAY we all be strong, resilient, resourceful and aMAYzing.

    Went to a food fair today – in an old train shed FULL of home baked goodies e.g. doughnuts, bread, cupcakes, croissants etc. Will say no more .
    Going out for Mother’s Day lunch tomorrow .
    @okeydokey, thanks for your concern. We finally found a wonderful dentist who opened on the weekend. Last night was another bad night for DH and we thought we would have to go to emergency for some morphine or something as he couldn’t sleep.
    Made it through the night, went to dentist. All morning in the chair for removal of an old crown, remove some decay under crown, root canal treatment, new crown.
    Happy DH, not so happy me – too much time alone with doughnuts!

    A full day today. I’m teaching yoga as part of a “spa day” offered at a local event center. Includes aroma therapy, nutritional/ healthy eating, a healthy lunch, tai chi, meditation… as a teacher we also get to participate in the day, so it should be a good one. Have a good day, everyone!

    Yesterday was very controlled for me, even going out to dinner with our kids who are here in San Diego for brother’s funeral. We had a lovely dinner at a hotel on the beach in Coronado. My duck breast had a delicious sauce, salad, and some bread pudding that I only ate part of. We shared a chocolate cake (one bite each) dessert, so I was glad for that. And one glass of Pinot Noir,

    Hopefully I can read posts when I get home later today, or even at the airport waiting for my plane.
