Have watched the other video Mosley had out.
The Truth About Exercise? 1 hr video.
I alo like another dr’s video
Dr David Perlmutter
There it explained. How going gluten free, but also adding DHA to diet is beneficial.
From those video my understanding and my effort is to semi fast on DHA foods, then on feed days exercise.
Hello Fasters and Losers
“I’m Walking In The Air” this morning! 2 lbs down – the pesky one which has been on and off for the past couple of weeks plus another. It brings me to exactly half way through my current stone and a total loss of 36lbs.
OH has stayed the same, which is no great surprise in view of his penchant for cheese, mince pies and beer at the moment! Well, he says, it IS Christmas…..!
Amazon, you sound exactly like me when it comes to Christmas food shopping – lots of “traditional” favourites which I never thought Christmas would be the same without are now off my list, but still keeping a few of my very favourite things, mostly savoury things like olives, posh crisps and lovely pates. I haven’t made a Christmas cake for years and years, and can take or leave mince pies, but I do love a nice stollen, particularly the real German ones from Lidl. Very cheap, and not dry like some of the others.
AO – glad the little ones have all got homes now. Your local party sounds great. We have the same sort of thing here in our little village, and ours is tonight. 24 of us – though we won’t be sitting outside!! The “local ” pub where we hold it is 3 miles away, and we hire a mini bus which is great fun – like going on a school trip! I’ve borrowed mother’s LBD again – I really must get one of my own!
Weemam – glad your Dad is better. What a fantastic age! Your OH is a gem, though I can’t complain as mine is also a domestic god. He always does the vacuuming and a fair bit of cooking. He even volunteered to come to help with the shopping yesterday – usually he stays well clear of any supermarket!
Jojo – you sound sorted for Christmas Hun. Like the sound of the new cookbook. I thought I was well versed in Asian cookery, but those spices are a foreign language to me! Hope the dogs are ok now.
Lizzie – how is Charlie? Hope all ok.
Very little time again today – have to take OH to hospital for a nerve block injection in this foot (ouch) – he has been suffering for about 18 months so hopefully it will do the trick. No dancing for him tonight, unfortunately. Then an afternoon of cooking in preparation for Sunday before getting ready for tonight – and then another day gone!
Have a good one all – RT, Samm, Nicky, Purple, Hsppy, emel, newcomer Peelywally (that’s a new one on me – you learn something every day on this thread), Nama, Ply and Hermaj if you’re both reading this, and anyone else I haven’t mentioned.
Have a good one – whatever.

HI everyone, yey the last day of students at school. I have another week of work but it is under control. Today is my birthday so fast day went out the window. Shall start again on Monday. I am so over sweet things!! What a change. Thanks NickyF love to hear from you.
A year ago I was really ill and had to have time off from work- ten weeks. How amazing is life. I feel so much better now. Cannot quite believe the change.
off to dinner with my boys, one of whom is moving out this Tuesday!! I am sure he will come back!!! emel
Morning, evening all.
Jojo, use a cardboard box reinforced with strong tape and covered in Christmas wrapping paper. Once packed, cover with cellophane and finish with a bow or a piece of tinsel.
Smiffy, well done, you must be so pleased to have finally got rid of that pesky lb, and one more to ensure it stays gone!
RT, keep on doing well and posting your wonderfully positive and witty posts that lift the spirits and make me smile π
Out for lunch with the girls today and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m driving so the damage will be limited π

Amazon, try to time the Grampians in Spring …. The wildflowers are all out. And did your friend approve of the lower sugar mince pies?
RT you are so up beat, I will have what you’re having! And re the athletic bloodlines…. No way, couldn’t run to save myself. All I ever won at school athletics carnivals was the high jump, cos I have really long legs! But interestingly enough, that same uncle sired four sons who ALL played for the Mighty Pies at once in the 1950’s, when Collingwood was at its peak. Suffice to say you are all lucky it’s not the football season, I am very one eyed! (And I do have all my teeth still!) glad you enjoyed Ararat and they didn’t manage to lock you up in the Psych ward!
Purple do you get noisy Cicadas too? They drive us mad on hot summer days in Jamieson, sometimes it feels like the whole town is vibrating with them!
Happy Birthday Emel, hope you have had a lovely night out with your boys. And be brave when your son moves out, he will be back, with a new appreciation of his Mum.
Happy Anniversary for Sunday Nicky, hope you have a lovely lunch. You got married very close to Xmas all those years ago.
I felt ancient today. Tried to buy a new iPad cover for my ancient (3yr old) tablet and was almost laughed out of the Apple store. Then the ‘children’ serving in JB Hifi AND Dick Smith Electronics also were agog that I could possibly own such an antique. Told them in no uncertain terms I would go back to my cave!
Hope everyone’s weekend is fun. X
Nama, the mincemeat is excellent. As it is less sweet, the flavour of the orange and lemon rind and all the fruits and spices are more noticeable. I’m very pleased with it π
I had a lovely lunch with the girls, lots of laughs too. The restaurant provided crackers so we all wore our paper hats!
The food was excellent, I was a little concerned as this is the second time we have been to this place and last time the fish and chips was not good. The fish had too much batter and was overcooked and the chips raw in the middle. All the other dishes were good so we decided to give it a second chance, and I’m pleased that we did and look forward to returning and trying something else on their extensive menu.
The roads are really busy, and I’m glad that I’m not driving anywhere this evening.
Hello to all my fellow losers π hoping you’re all having a wonderful day/night. Happy Birthday Emel hope you have/had a great day. Also Happy Anniversary (46) to Nicky and OH (my OH and I celebrated 41 years last Monday).
Off for a bit of a drive this morning then back home, via work to pick up goats milk that a lovely person is bringing in for me today – it does get paid for btw π – very fresh each time, but now I’m getting it for another friend who’s got puppies (we give to the babies and mums) so as it’s just about on my way home from my drive I’ll get it today for them.
RT love those quotes and smooth songs you choose for each of us as we all progress.

Hey y’all!
Went to health foods store again. Some thing interesting somethings not!
Found a probiotic orange peelings dark chocolate bar. That’s a bullseye for me.
Found a great set of ankle weights from the donations thrift store. Works great for making me struggle at jumping rope. Went there to find another mini trampoline as my last one is damaged.
To tell you the truth I miss the fasting at this point while on planned break. I’ve gained back 4lbs. I don’t let the scale discourage me though , because I know as long as I keep on keepin on I will reach goal. I sort take on the survivalist attitude. I need to be actively doing something no matter how big or small to constantly improve my situation. So even though I’m on planned break. I’m still very active, not binging, trying new things now rather than risk failing on a fast day.
I still keep the evening tea routine at 7pm. The probiotic chocolate makes tea time a treat time.
Got out to the boat yard yesterday afterwork. Managed to get all my summer clothes stowed, and all of my spring project supplies like ducks in a row. Il keep the boat in the city resivior till my daughter goes to high school in three years.
Surprising to me that I’m NOT looking forward to the Christmas and new years feasts as much as the thanksgiving feast. I suppose I had been on the 4:3 for about 6 weeks at that point. So now I’m just looking forward to spending time with the friends and family that i like.
I believe I’ll change my planned break patter to 4 planed breaks per year. Spring 2 weeks. Summer 2 weeks fall 2 weeks and the holidays from thanksgiving to new years. So as look at the calendars to plan this it’s about 10 weeks of fasting by 2 weeks of break. I have a lot of confidence in it . I’ll be aiming at for 4,800 of calorie restriction and 2,000 calories of exercise every week. I will still be happy with ten pounds in ten weeks though I’m aiming for 20. So I have a lot of confidence as long as I keep on keepin on my goal will become a reality. Only 41lbs more to go. So planning to be at 100lbs fat loss goal near this time a year from now.
Best wishes to all of you, and your families.
I went for a lovely walk in Kew Gardens and bought some Christmas gifts while I was out.
I’ve been in the kitchen for a while assembling and freezing raw mince pies, and 4 tiny sausage rolls just for me. I then put a toasted nut topping on a cake, and made marzipan and put it on the other two cakes, which will be iced either tomorrow or Monday.
I’m now preparing my FD dinner of chicken tagine with steamed carrots and sprouts, and after smelling sugar for most of the afternoon, I’m really hungry!
It is very cold this evening and I’m hoping that once I’ve eaten I’ll be warm.
Cut other half hair the swept the kitchen and bathroom floors and steam cleaned them . Washed mats and made soup .
So much for a lazy day lol .
I just can’t get a heat into me . OH says its because I have lost so much weight and I am skinny . I wish lol but love that he said it π
Fasting today and had jelly and lettuce and cold ham . Didn’t help to heat me up π
Shortened another pair of trousers and now going to watch some TV with OH .
have a great day/evening everyone π

Morning everyone this side and evening everyone up top.
Well my little drive (1 hr 25 min each way) took longer to complete than expected. I expected to be up to 1 hour in the shop as I’d done my research, knew what I wanted just wanted to check a couple of things on one item then put through on interest free (yes checked this store had it through the credit company and that I could get it done in store as was not allowed to do over the phone) blow me down when I get to the check out part they knew nothing about the company I use … they were trying to get an answer from the company but as I was also meeting my sister for coffee we said we’d let them get the info they needed and we’d be back in 1/2 hour which they were happy with. Came back and told NO can’t do it there, they don’t have, the company doesn’t have them. I asked if they used the store name or the group they’re in, store name, I said you need to say you’re part of the group, so they rang again and YES they were partners with the company!! Person said they’d have to put the sale through online only the store didn’t have any details how to, and this sort of thing went on and on. In the end the owner took me into the office, we rang separately, I spoke to the company and voila! we could just get this done over the phone and presto it’s done. This little contretemps took an additional TWO hours!!! But now the store know they can use this company too, they will get the relevant information early next week and possibly start to use them too. They were very helpful really just the person (in WA) who arranged the partnering didn’t let them or any other franchisee’s know about it (they checked with another store in SA while I was having coffee … oh yes and a piece of citrus tart).
So for the rest of yesterday I was running behind. Was due to be home around 12 noon, got home just after 2:20pm and due to the stress/upset I was totally drained and after letting the girls out I fell asleep for 40 mins.
While driving home I got a message from the girl at work, the company had run out of milk and so people decided to go rummaging, found the goats milk (thinking it was normal milk) and had some to their drinks. Did the girl go off at them so she let me know that and that I could come past her home around 4:30pm (she lives just down the road about 3km from me). Apparently if I’d got back when originally due there would have been no issue. Nevermind we sorted it all.
Had a 40th birthday party to go to last night, NO DRAMA’s there thank goodness, but instead a lovely evening out. I had had a semi-FD yesterday to allow for this (citrus tart), only had a little chicken & salad at the part but DID have two alcoholic can drinks, one jelly shot and one liquid shot which normally I don’t have but felt after the day I’d had that I would have them after all. Got home and to bed around 12:30 and up at 5:30!! I will go back to bed shortly for another hour or two.
Hi Wee X
I feel the cold much more now that I’ve lost weight and I’m finding it difficult on FDs now that we are in winter. I’m putting on an extra layer of clothes in order to keep warm, because once I am cold it is difficult to get warm without strenuous exercise, a hot bath or food.
It’s a good problem to have π
I know I’m late but I just wanted to let you guys know that I am joining you!! π Let’s lose that weight together!
I want to lose weight because I kinda … overindulged myself lately, and so I really need to change that. I want to be honest.. I have fallen in love. And I know one should always lose weight for oneself – and I really want to lose that weight for ME!! – but now I really want to do it because I want to look and FEEL the best I can. It’s really about confidence for me. When you are content with yourself, you feel good, you don’t compare yourself to others as much and you just LIKE yourself, I do believe that you are happier. And other peopel will notice to – I don’t mean just the weight loss, but I am taalking about the CONFIDENCE all of this gives you. Let’s hope 5:2 works !!
Hello all
Just a quick hello after a busy day – spent the morning doing church flowers and this afternoon cooking for supper party tomorrow – venison sausages in red wine, turkey and chestnut casserole and dauphinois potatoes. I’ve still got puds to make but they can be done tomorrow morning. Feeling very tired now after a late night last night, but we had a lovely time. I must have danced off every extra calorie I consumed!
Aussie – what a very frustrating time you have had! Jojo – be careful – you will end up eating nothing at all at this rate!
Wee – what a lovely compliment from OH. Like you and Amazon, I’m really feeling the cold tonight even though we have a lovely fire going. It’s very frost outside and I’ve treated myself to a whisky mac – well I had to warm up somehow!
Have a good one all
Smiffy x
Smiffy is it too late for an invite, your menu sounds delicious! And how long will Ginger wine keep? Mustn’t waste it….. And Amazon, you sound like you are being very productive in the kitchen! I made and froze an orange and almond meal cake yesterday.,Sons partner and her twin’s birthday on 23rd, plus my brothers on 25th, so plan to also sing Happy Birthday after our Christmas Dinner to surprise them!
Welcome Amy, Smiffy is so right, lots of support on this thread. And 5:2 definitely works! If it doesn’t you need to tweak something. Just give it a while to adjust to the fasting, it gets easier and easier.
Warm Sunday in Melbourne, 30 plus today and a nasty North wind. I need to get out and water the new plants before it gets too hot. AO I hope you are back in bed asleep catching up on yesterday!
I agree with Smiffy Jojo, be careful! Christmas will soon be over and all these tempting meals will be gone. Maybe it’s enough just to maintain at this time of the year. I think it’s a miracle you have lost anything these past few months with travels to Spain, Ireland and even York. It certainly shows your determination and persistence.
Great to hear from you SAMM, another one will amazing determination! Not surprised you are still focused, even on your break!
Got the tree up and decorated yesterday, now it feels Christmassy!
The garden is calling me!
Hi Fast trackers
Welcome to you, Amy. This WOL makes me love living!
I am down in the last week about 0.5 kg. Not spectacular, but adequate and I have all but given up carbs and ketosis is obvious to my OH!
I love the idea of a whiskey Mac too, but without the whiskey. I love ginger wine! ginger tea, ginger biscuits etc. In France ginger is an aphrodisiac and when I first arrived in France, my suggestion of ginger tea was met by fits of laughter.
But I am having no sugar before Christmas day, so most ginger things are not possible.
I love your animation, OA
It’s fine for once in Wellington city. My OH is taking me to the Santa parade this afternoon.
xx TW

I have never been a gym type of person I donβt and honestly never have had a desire to the βchesty bond guyβ the aussies here will know immediately the image π my mission is to get RT Rouge Trader π³ (still lol at that classic) into LT Lean and Toned and after reading SAMMs cut and paste of the study of 33.000 runners and 16.000 walkers and yes SAMM I have watched the the truth about exercise interesting stuff isnβt it?? I am a walker thanks mate thatβs me now with 10.000 steps + a day the goal I have a pedometer app on the iphone the perfect set up and my average has been 14.000 + 1hr 5m to go around the creek walk here in the morning at sparrows f**t and 1h 6m in the afternoon after work and weekends advised calorie burn 3500 a week..I was running on a mini trampoline with 1kg hand weights 1hr morning and night watching the news however I have reviewed this for a winter or in climate weather option and get out in the fresh air and βthese boots are made for walking βHow Many Calories Does 10,000 Steps Burn?
When you walk Ten thousand steps a day” has become a heavily promoted fitness mantra — with good reason. The American Council on Exercise estimates that the average person can burn up to 3,500 calories per week by walking 10,000 steps every day.
When you burn 3,500 more calories than you consume, you lose a pound of body fat. But eating calorie-rich, low-nutrient foods can pack the calories right back on, undoing all your hard work. Focus on eating a reduced-calorie, nutrient-rich diet to keep your body fuelled for more walking and weight loss without replacing all the calories you just burned off
Peace RT
Hi Fast trackers
Merry Christmas one and all. Decorations are up and presents are wrapped. I won’t be posting much until the New Year. π
We’ve begun on the many celebratory EOY brunches, lunches and dinners. In between, I am fasting three times this week, and eating only two meals a day on nonfast days. Better for me to preempt the extra special food and drink. π this way I can maintain within range.
In Winter the only way I could warm up was to have bowls of vegetable soup with chili and ginger. Fasting makes you colder, and the heat of ginger and chili help to counteract this. π³
Cheers, Bay π
Morning/evening all.
Jojo, maybe those stir fries are working after all! Well done.
I’ve not weighed since before my holiday and have no intention of doing so until a couple of days before Christmas. I’ve done 5 FDs since then, and now I’m doing ADF, so there’ll be 5 more before Christmas Eve. I’m going to allow myself 3 days off and then back to fasting.
I’m trying again to do 10,000 steps per day plus whatever other exercise I do, but life keeps getting in the way. I’ll get there eventually.
Have a great day/evening everyone.
Hi Jojo ive been following your posts every week since i joined..great support and interesting reading especially on fast days..I dont think i would have stuck with 5;2 as well without support..I was on atkins forum too..i find this forum full of cheers and happiness and goals being reached!!! which is very encouraging. Im only getting comments now about my weight loss after 6 weeks..i did the dramatic weight loss a few times(Atkins) and i always looked unwell & felt unwell. This is a different approach completely..very dooo-able!! Well done to all!!
Pleased that bigmarie is on this thread.
my plans today are just for stability ball.
lifted at the gym yesterday and will be loading trucks all week. So no fasting .but losding trucks can require alot of energy. So ill be on 500 calorie restriction everyday this week but mostly muscle foods. Before clock in, first break and lunch.
What im noticing recently, but more so since I went on planned break and started with heavy lifting is my appetite is less hmmmmm. Ignorable.
Also noticing the scale go in the wrong direction. However keepin on with the muscle strengthening emboldens me much more than than the discouraging scale, because I know I will remain strong enough to keep my 2,000 calories of exercise in my personalized 2lb a week formula. So basically my goal of 2014 had been met to become strong enough to exercise Regulaly.
To my surprise this year I read articles that mention the benefits of exercise on longevity. Those insights changed the way I look at exercise. Its not just for weight loss. It actually helps the brain function optimally. so after researching the articles both on benifits of fasting and exercise. Taking 8months of 2014 to figure it out and practice it routinely. Some simple rules to keep things simple and doable.
3 health and healing food fasting days
4 muscle food and exercise days.
I feel as if I can keep it simple then it wont dominate my life.it will simply be my doable Way Of Eating.
Ok putting on stabilty ball video . Enjoy you day!
