  • Morning fellow losers πŸ˜† (in the nicest possible way of course, lol)

Well it’s 2:30am and I’m up again having a drink of water etc. So much going on in my head I suppose but will be back to bed soon but thought I’d “check in” here and catch up as I wasn’t able to yesterday (work hectic, puppy people came over to see babies etc).

WOW baking AND on a FD!!! I wouldn’t be able to resist. Had quiche for dinner last night (have some frozen, in portions, ready for days like yesterday).

The day of my headache I forgot to mention that I was wearing a pair of 3/4 pants which last summer I could not even do up and I was fitting into them quite nicely (with a “bit of room to spare” around the hips and waist when I took them off to get ready for bed I thought I’d just see what size they were (thinking probably size 18) well blow me down they were a 16 … yes 16!!!! So that means that I’m slowly getting down into the more regular sizes available in shops and hopefully it won’t be too long before I can get into some of my really nice size 14’s that I’ve hung onto all these years (they are really nice quality and I refused to get rid of them so hopefully I’ll get some more wear out of them soon) … I aim to be in them before the end of summer and maybe even have them not firm on me by then too Smiley

FD for me today, hope everyone else is losing nicely too πŸ˜€ …

    Amazon,
I am sure you have counted those calories though.

Just finished my fast day stir fry, I was starving when I got in from gym followed by bowls. All this exercise does make me hungry though.

I am in a clearing out mood, papers, cupboards and drawers, no cooking for me this week.

    Jojo xx

Yes, jojo, I’ve counted the calories Smiley

I’m in a cleaning/tidying mood too which is rare for me so I’m making the most of it as I usually avoid household chores as much as possible.
I sorted and tidied all my paperwork just before my holiday as it was such a mess I couldn’t find something I needed.

I’m having home made quiche and salad for my dinner. It is an individual one made as I had some pastry left over from mince pie making. I’ll be under my TDEE despite all the cake!

AO, that’s good news. It is great to be able to wear something that had become too small. Well done:)

As for baking on a FD, I knew I would be eating it today so it wasn’t difficult.

It is cold and windy out there this evening.

Morning All Bay that fast day play book looks very doable indeed I too got the day done with black coffee green tea i refill a 600ml bottle of water maybe 3-or 4 and whilst there is sadly no domestic goddess or fairy’s to come into the kitchen at our house of the “raising suns” 😯 who knew πŸ˜† a simple packet of spring vegetable soup thank you Mr continental rounded out the day nicely AO i am hearing hot chocolate playing in the background “everyones a winner baby” and you are bringing sexy back!!
Nama what control out and about lovin life lamb greek salad thats so cosmopolitan and delicious spoilt for choice are we not..keep on keeping on..
I have a road trip to Ararat today for work ok you pack of losers its nice to be important but its important to be nice aah feed day come at me πŸ˜‰
    Peace RT

” its nice to be important but its important to be nice”

    RT Smiley

Hi Jojo I am going to join you on your 40lb in 20 weeks from January. I did a foundation degree last year and when I had my graduation photos back I looked like a penguin filled with hot air! I am doing my top up year this year and so will be graduating again in the summer. When I started this five weeks ago my goal was to lose 2 stone by my graduation but having lost 11.5 lb already I have decided that I will be 3 stone lighter by next graduation instead. Joining you on your 40lb mission will give me the incentive to achieve my goal. I can then photoshop my to grad pics to show the before and after

Hi RT and The Pack of Losers πŸ™‚

I want to be able to do those animated smileys, so will go back to Amazon’s post.

Thanks to this WOL and yesterday’s strict fast, I am back within my normal range. πŸ˜†

    Cheers, Bay

Good luck Superman. I’m sure that you and Jojo will succeed.
I’m hoping that I’ll have less than 28lbs to lose by the end of the year, but it depends how much I weigh in two weeks time and if I can avoid gaining anything over Christmas. I am determined to enjoy Christmas eating and not dread it, but I’ve crossed many things off the shopping list this year. I expect we’ll all be very motivated come January 1st.

Hi Bay. It’s amazing the difference that a single FD can make isn’t it πŸ™‚

Superman-264, great news, let’s do it!

It will help me to have someone to compete with. What ever use will you be doing?

I think I will need to do 4:3 to achieve 2 lb per week as I have been been on this programme for a year now. Really need to get tough. Can you manage it on 5:2?

I am currently working out a month diet plan using my Spiralizer. Menu is counted so that will make life easier.

Good Luck enjoy Christmas cost the next 20 weeks will be really hard work but worth it for that great graduation photo.

We are all right here behind you Jojo and Supermam.
Look forward to some inspiring ideas and great results. You CAN do it girls! !! β˜†β˜…β˜†β˜… P

Jojo as I have HEAPS more to lose I’ll join you on your quest in the new year as I really DO need to lose even more than 40lb (or 18kg approx) which will help me get to where I want to be hopefully by next summer for us here in Oz. I’m not fussing over the Christmas/New Year week but will be careful not to over indulge too much (I think SOME drinkies will be in order, particularly NYE as we’re out to a very social party with karaoke, fun and laughs)

I wonder what size I’ll end up being if I’ve gone down almost 2 dress sizes since starting (I refused to buy size 20’s so squeezed … and I mean squeezed … into looser size 18’s … which now fall off me btw Smiley )

Love the stars PVE … hoping everyone’s having a loser of a day πŸ˜€ chat more later πŸ˜†

Jojo, Supermam and AO, as Purple says, we’ll all be here supporting you.

We should keep track of how much everyone on this thread is losing.

I shall be there with you for at least 14 weeks as I’m hoping to continue to lose 2lbs per week but am not sure if it will be ADF, 4:3 or even 3:4 with B2B fasts. I’ll probably mix it up to fit in with whatever I’m doing socially.

Checking in while I have a friends mobile.

my quick question fur all of you.

how many calories of exercise do you aim for per week?

I ask in the same spirt of practicing the doable fasting.

    what is your doable exercise?

Mine is to aim for 2,000 calories of exercise per week.

Count me in for as long as it takes! Not sure re my goal yet, but want to shed at least another 10 kgs, so that at least 14weeks at my rate of 3/4 kg week. And I expect it to slow in the home straight.

    Hi Samm,

I am doing 1 hour ten mins at the gym aerobic equipment early am 6 days per week from Jan – 500-600 cals then my usual sports and new classes. I don’t really count yoga, swimming, group or dog walking or bowls as not fast pace. I count badminton, ballroom dance and probably these new weights and stretch classes, as pace quite knackering. Just realised I have never counted my kettle bell swing either, no idea what that uses, think I will need to look it up, sure I knew once.

As you know I am physically active for at least 4 – 6 hours per day so daily gym should up the pace and make the difference, I seriously can’t do anymore. Diet will be amazing from my new Spiralizer recipe book, simple food, small portion sizes and very healthy.

Food calories will be 500 for three days, 1000 for 3 days and 1500 on Sunday. I know this will be way below my TDEE but you know what I think of that! Bloody waste of space for me, simply not realistic. These days 1200 cals plus 2 fast days just keeps me at a maintenance level – sad but true. All being recorded on fitness pal.

Tried a new tea today, sweet rhubarb, it’s lovely.

If this doesn’t take 2 lb off per week I will throw my 20 lb kettle bell off a cliff.

Great to have so many of you with me for the challenge. I am sure it will help.

Non fast day tomorrow but keeping it under 1000 in preparation. Trying to get used to less. Save 1000 per week up to Christmas plus extra calorie burn at the gym every morning. Determined to start new year in the 12’s ( stones not size).

We will publish BMI and body fat level day one plus take measurements so we can record overall inches lost each month. My waist is down 7 inches since January and 10 inches since last October. I aim to lose at least another 7 inches. Then my job will be done, I will have given myself a real chance of being a normal size and weight at 10 stone. Still top of my weight range but I can live with that, I don’t want to look too scrawny. I really think the exercise is essential for toning. I have very elastic skin but I am not sure how it will look when I get down to a size 12. I have a feeling long sleeve tops and angel arms will be compulsory.

My TDEE is 2221( laugh out loud) if I ate that on non fast days I would put on 1 lb a day at least.

    Samm and Jojo,
I don’t program in any exercise. Never have. I am naturally someone who doesn’t sit still for long. I use public transport, stairs instead of lifts, always walk up escalators, park as far as possible from my destination, always run for trains and traffic lights and I walk or run quickly whenever I can. I do a lot of consciously going quickly up and down the levels in our 3 story house and a lot of fairly energetic gardening most days. I do long walks in winter and fun swimming in summer (not laps).
I tried yoga, a gym membership and then a pt years ago, but hated being told what to do.
According to my Fitbit I easily do 10000 steps on a normal day and easily burn the calories I consume. πŸ˜‰ P

    He he he

Throw kettle ball down the cliff. Then climb down and back up again.

I dont count my walking either jojo.
Lately if been doing alot more kettle ball in 10 minute sessions. And try to make it routine to do some calorie burning exercise befire after every meal., but nit to the point of exhaustion.
Just enough to be doable and add too my exersise bank

    Morning everyone.

I don’t count exercise calories. It is essential for me to do it now that I’m not working, but I’m trying to look at it as a way of improving fitness and flexibility, and toning up, so I’m not going to think about calories expended, just keep on keeping on as SAMM would say.

I have no idea what my body fat level is either, and I’m not sure that I want to know Smiley

I’ve worked out my TDEE for when I reach my goal weight and I’ve decided that I’m going to try to keep under it on non fast days from 1st January, so that the weight will continue to come off at the same rate, and so that once I’m there, I won’t have to make too many adjustments.

FD today. I’m off for a haircut and then meeting a friend for a walk.
    Have a good day/evening everyone.

Another midnight, well 3 am feast, albeit, 2 fried eggs. I find if I am having trouble sleeping this solves the problem. Of course I then oversleep in the morning. No pain this time just restless so read my book for an hour. Obviously this option will not be available in January, just have to power through.

I need to get moving now, busy day ahead. Keeping busy really helps.

I think I am going to buy a Fitbit today, may make life easier.

    Speak tonight.

PVE – sounds good, I am also very active, it’s the only way long term.

Amazon – glad to hear your TDEE works for you but it includes your exercise element already anyway. I undervalue my exercise level in it deliberately because otherwise it would be ridiculously high.

    Good morning/evening all

Life is still hectic here at the moment with social events, Christmas preparations, organising the wedding flowers I have been asked to do on the 27th, and doing Christmas flower arrangements for two local churches. Also, I have 8 coming for a festive supper on Sunday and have been busy sorting out the menu, with a shopping list as long as my arm. In between, I’ve been visiting my mother who lives 10 miles away and doing shopping for her, as her arthritis plays up horribly in this wet weather.

Have you had any more snow Weemam? The weather sounds pretty bleak up there at the moment.

OM I hope you get a better night’s sleep tonight. The pups must look gorgeous at this age, but no doubt a handful now they are a bit older. Have you got homes for them all?

Jojo – I will jump on the bandwagon with you and the others who have committed themselves to the New Year Challenge. Like Amazon, I am intending to enjoy what is probably the first Christmas in a long time where I will feel neither deprived nor wracked with guilt. I am religiously fasting twice a week but enjoying the bits in between. Not overdoing it though. I find that when I can actually CHOOSE to eat anything I want, I usually don’t. On previous diets, where I was watching virtually every mouthful every day, I would end up eating anything and everything. It’s interesting how this WOE has that psychological effect.

I’m happy to stay at my current weight until the New Year, but will then start with a vengeance to get rid of this last stone or so.

Hello to everyone – sorry I haven’t time to write any more – off to take dogs for a wet and windy walk before the marathon shopping expedition. Fasting today – I don’t have lunch on these days – which is just as well – I need the extra time!

    Have a good one all

    Smiffy x

    Hi Smiffy.

Every Christmas I eat far too much and feel sick and guilty for most of it, then depressed when I step on the scales afterwards. You are so right about the psychological and IMO physical effect this WOE has on mind set and attitude to food, and to taste, as in what we choose to eat, and appetite.

I’ve chosen the things I like to eat most of all, and crossed off the list all the “I always have it at Christmas” items. So there will still be a cheeseboard with some grapes, but no biscuits or butter. There will be clotted cream and rum sauce, but no ice cream. There will be stuffing but half the usual amount. No bread sauce. The vegetables will be steamed and served without butter, and the spuds and parsnips roasted in one spoonful of fat. Slices of Christmas pudding and cake will be small and only one piece per day. I am making mini mince pies for myself, which are frozen raw to avoid impulse visits to the tin just because I’m in the kitchen!
No sweets, chocolates or nuts apart from my favourite maple brazils, and no cocktails containing gallons of juice, sugar or cream apart from one Singapore Sling on Christmas Day.
No fry ups for breakfast either, but there will be scrambled egg and smoked salmon and the occasional slice of life threatening bacon!
I always buy lots of fruit, and there will be much less this year, and no bananas.

I know that there will be one or two slip ups, but if it isn’t in the house I can’t eat it.

Hi everyone, looking forward to ramping things up in the new year. I’ve put my request in for a fitbit flex for Christmas.

Smiffy as of half an hour ago all puppies have new families to join at the end of this month. They really are very lovely and full of character. I only put an advert on the dog site last Thursday as at the time we still had 2 puppies available. While writing the advert I had a call from someone looking for a pup and they came out on the weekend and put a deposit on a pup. I’ve had 2 other people come to see them. One wanted to think about it and see another litter and now the 2nd people put a deposit on the last pup.

I might have to bite the bullet and get a new laptop soon as mine is 14 years old and slowly giving up the ghost … keeps crashing and can’t cope as runs out of memory.

Talk more soon … oh yes had a good FD today. Onwards and downwards πŸ™‚ β™‘ β™₯ β˜… β˜†

    Hello all,

Lovely to hear everyone’s news, you all sound pretty busy, which I guess is to be expected at this time of year. Smiffy you seem to have a lot of extra work with your floral commitments, though I guess it’s the nature of the work!

I have just had a good fast day, they seem to get easier with practice. But I must admit I felt hungry this evening as we just downloaded and watched the movie “Trip to Italy” with Steve Coogan…. All they seemed to do was to eat divine Italian food! I found it very funny though, most of their impersonations were brilliant. And the scenery is amazing.

Had the best experience shopping for T Shirts today. Last 10 yrs have always been an XXL or at best XL but I was feeling great so tried on a L today, but yes you guessed it, still too big so had to buy a Medium! Whoops, accidentally bought three new tops today! Trying to be strong and not buy much till all the weight off, but I don’t like the refugee look. My son suggested I invest in some rope to tie around my middle, but I thought that might make me look like an escapee from a nativity play!

Looking forward to my breakky muesli, got some fresh raspberries today as well. They smell as good as any French perfume!

Hope your trip to Ararat was successful RT? My Dad grew up out of Stawell and I love that part of Victoria. My uncle even won the Stawell Gift, twice! We always had family camping trips to the Grampians as kids. I remember spotlighting at night for rabbits then my entrepreneurial brother would sell them to the Chinese shop in Stawell the next day! This was in the 60’s! As SAMM would say, now I am rambling!

Hiya everyone . Sorry not been posting but reading all the posts every morning . Dad not been well as you all know . He seems fine now but really slowed down a lot . I know he is almost 97 and everyone keeps saying he has had a good innings but he is my Dad and I just can’t get him out of my mind . I am down another 2 pounds and now on the stone . 4 pounds to go to where I was 6 years ago and 10 pounds to where I haven’t been foe over 20 years .
I still dontt have my decorations up as my back is still a bit sore . That is my RA . I can say though that it has been so much better since I started this WOL .I was planing to decorate the house this afternoon but by the time I had changed the bedclothes and got the bed remade my back was a wee bit sore again sooo tomorrow all the corners done ( again downstairs and the glitter goes up :).

I have a vibration plate but haven’t used it for a while as I am not sure if it will help or hinder my back .
We are going to Ross on Christmas day and taking dad again . I am goint to roast butternut squash for myself in place of potatoes . I will have meat and veg but not a lot . I will be having my Ice cream but not a full carton as I would have in the past . I always get a small box of malteesers from Ross because I love them and I will be eating that too . I have not gone off this WOL since the day I started so I reckon one day in a year is OK . I don’t drink so that is not a problem .

We were going to take dad out today but it has been snowing hard on and off all day . I look onto the Ochil Hills from the back bedroom and it looks amazing but I don’t like driving in it if I don’t have to . It is not lying here for long and that is good .
I just love this WOL and I am so happy that I have met all of you lovely people to take my hand on this amazing journey

    Wee xx

Hi Wee. My mother & sister live in Dunfermline and I was through to see them in October. One of our favourite places to go for the day is Tilicoutry for the shopping and of course the incredibly beautiful Ochil Hills.

I bet they look amazing with the snow on them.

I hope your back eases to let you get your decorations up. I’m planning to do mine with my wains on Sunday πŸ™‚

    Welcome PeeyWally,
Good to have a new face on the thread. How long have you been doing 5:2 and how is it going? What are your tips for success. That’s three Scot’s now, more the merrier.
The Brits and Aussies plus kiwi’s will all benefit from learning some more Scottish language. My wains have grown up and I flew the nest so I have to do my own decorations. Keeping it low key this year just a small tree and one window has lights. Bit of tinsel on the hearth and window sill, job done( no risk to my back either Weemam). Get well soon pal.

I have just received the Mitchell Beazley ITSU , healthy Asian cookery, all under 300 cals and 30 mins preparation time. That’s my sort of cooking. Seem 2015 will be about cooking for me. Two recipe books to work through now, I will report on my experiences. Just off to have some of my spicy parsnip soup.

Quiet night in tonight, maybe a DVD, life is good.

Amazon, the Christmas goodies you have given up this year sound great, you must have had some good times girl. My Christmases are quite low key on the food and drink front but board games and card games feature along with such silliness as Twister and even ping pong. Have even been known to do a bit of dancing.

Omg, there is not one recipe in this cookbook I would not eat! However I will need to increase my shopping list with Asian spices and ingredients necessary to cook these dishes. Not too sure these things are available locally. Umami, wakame, tamari, tahini, udon noodles, Shiloh, scichimi, maki, Kombu, miring, matcha and sake but I guess I will find out.

Thanks for the welcome jojo. Good to find some fellow scots. I’ll do my best to use a bit of dialect πŸ™‚ I’ve been doing 5:2 since mid-October. It’s going great. I don’t tend to weigh myself but can tell I’ve lost weight consistently together with feeling much fitter as obviously there’s less of me to carry around.
I tend to work quite long hours and only really cook at weekends when I have my kids.

I tend to just do the lazy method of a small breakfast of 200 cal or under, then a supermarket diet meal of about 350 cals in the evening. Surprisingly I’ve had some really tasty meals though.

Not nearly as good as the lovely recipes I’m sure you cook, but at least it keeps me on target. I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with the Mitchell Beazley book because 30 minute prep time sounds do-able for me.

    Afternoon all.

Jojo, there will be somewhere that sells Asian staples on line that will deliver if you can’t find what you want. You are going to have such fun trying all those new recipes out.

I met a friend and we went for a walk in Holland Park which is a beautiful place. It is cold today but the sun has been shining. We then walked along Kensington High Street, where I didn’t have to try very hard to persuade my friend to try on and buy the bright blue coat she has been coveting for the past few weeks. We then moved onto East which is one of our favourite cloths shops, and the top I’ve been looking at for a while is now in the sale for Β£39 rather than Β£59. I bought it, and don’t faint…………………it’s a size 12 albeit a bit on the generous side Smiley

By the time I got home I was really hungry and thirsty. I had a huge glass of water, put the kettle on for some tea and remembered I had bought Bovril. I had forgotten how good it is, and it has filled me up nicely.

Jojo, I need to give up buying too much food, and Christmas cannot be an exception or I’ll just pile on a few pounds and delay reaching my goal.
It would seem that we’ve all got the bit between our teeth and to hit 2015 running.

Hi Wee, I hope your back gets better soon. Mine is much improved and I’m really pleased. Seeing the osteopath is not cheap but it has been worth every penny.

Good morning fellow losers and g’day to Peely πŸ˜€

0.8kg down again this week which is pretty well spot on 2 lb. Over the Chrissy period I’m just trying to NOT put ON and happy to keep the same or a tad lower (if I can). It’s starting well and truly tonight – street party for our small town (main street closed from 4pm until 10pm) we meet a group of people for dinner in the main restaurant – we have an outside table so we can watch/see everything while we eat, drink and be merry Smiley

Wee I understand what you mean re your Dad, you’re so lucky to still have yours so enjoy him and cherish him πŸ˜€ . I also hope your back improves each day.

    Chat more later πŸ˜€

AO, have a great evening πŸ˜›

    Hi Fast Trackers
β€˜The time has come the walrus said to talk of many things of shoes and ships and sealing wax of cabbages and kings’
Before I was quite possibly the only human being on the planet who had never heard of the 5-2 Diet or who knew someone on it or had read an article in a newspaper regarding it or had any idea at all of the who what when where how or why of the diet. Until it was a feature on the Australian TV program Sunday Night on the 17/9/2014 and I took up this WOE/WOL 5 days later on the 22/09/2014. And what a significant wonderful and life changing experience it has been for me so far.
I would watch the Documentary with Michael Mosely Eat Fast & Live Longer and listen to his interview with Dr Mecola at least weekly I will seek counselling for this at a later stage I’m sure πŸ˜‰ I am fascinated with this way of life I must admit…. I have the 5-2 Diet Book and now The Every Other Day Diet book by Dr Krista Vardy and her 20 minute interview with Dr Mercola I watch that regularly also her work formed a small segment in the Horizon program.
    Week 12 – 1.3kg = 79.6 kg
A 16kg ish loss and I have today now just snuck into the healthy weight range BMI of 24.6 😎 at an average loss of 1.33kg a week following in the main with a few exceptions of one 4 day fast at the start and a B2B x2 in a week the 4-3 Alternate Day Fasting is my weapon of choice to defeat the fat & with a loss expectation of 1 lb or 453g per fast day x 3 is 1.35kg that is an amazingly for me at least accurate forecast of fat loss.
    1st goal 80kg check
    2nd goal 75kg
    3rd goal 70kg
Have a Great Weekend You Losers πŸ˜† Peace RT

Hiya peely wally . we got to Sterling mills a lot . only 15-20 mins from Dads place . funny thing is I just said to my son yesterday he was lookin gi peely wally . used a lot here πŸ™‚ . Och well id better git own :p xx

Looks like we are all getting there for Christmas. Got all the corners and skirtings and hoovering done all downstairs . I feel much better now for doing that. OH and I make a great team when doing housework πŸ™‚

    Wee xx

Hi Wee. Would you lend OH to me, I could do with a hand with the housework πŸ˜‰

OK but not for long . Has taken me 53 years to get him perfect lol πŸ™‚ xx

You are a kind and generous woman XX

    G’day FTs
You beat me to it Amazon πŸ˜‰ I would love someone else to do my skirting boards. I usually work on the principle that they are covered up with furniture.
Love the sound of that food list A. Mmmm..
RT, what a shame you don’t watch SBS, then you would have found out about 5:2 18 months earlier. They played Eat Fast and Live Longer back in April 13. πŸ™ ABC’s Catalyst has some great health research too. Our public broadcasters are the ones at the cutting edge!
Finally started my cards yesterday. Haircut today….that means an instant drop in weight πŸ˜†
    Happy days all. P

I had my hair cut today, but I don’t think it’ll make much difference πŸ˜†

I always lose about .5 kg getting my hair cut. Maybe it is the dirt when they wash it πŸ˜‰

Would it not be brilliant if we could go into a shop and order a size 12 body ,curly hair, wrinkle free . and apron taken away OHH!! and batwings ( empty hot water bottles) πŸ˜› . all done in a day and of course pain free lol xx

    Wee xx

You don’t need to Wee…you already have a beautiful body. And it was homemade, not shopbought!! πŸ˜‰ P

True pal and 2 beautiful people inside and out to thank for it πŸ™‚ xx

Jojo, I hope you realise what you have created with this thread! All this love and hilarity flying around cyberspace!! Welcome Peely Wally, hope you have a good sense of humour, it seems to be one of the main qualifications for this thread, you obviously are mastering the other one (weight loss).

Am probably 5 years behind with this, but “What if it had been 3 Wise Women instead of Men?” They would have cleaned the stable and brought a casserole.

RT your results are spectacular, congratulations. And Amazon, size 12? What a great feeling …. Definitely nothing tastes as good as being thin feels! I second OA Wee. Cherish your Dad! (I know that you do)

Hoping all good with you SAMM! Thinking of you. I reckon you are right, Jojo would just climb down the cliff to retrieve the kettle ball! And probably run back up again? After she had caught 3 fish for her lunch!

Good morning losers all: Jojo, Amazon, Smiffy, Wee, Ply, SAMM, Kiwiwiwi and my Aussie mates Purple, Bay, Nama, AO, RT and Emel. Apologies if I forgot someone – no offence intended. Been keeping up with the posts but no time to write more than a quick hello up to now.

Well done everyone on losses and welcome PeelyWally – what does it mean? This colonial at least is mystified.

Good idea for 2015 challenge and to calculate TDEE based on predicted weight. On that basis my FD intake should be 375C which is usually what I manage. It’s the other days I need to deal with.

Wee, as AO says, you’re so lucky to have your cherished Dad still around. Hope your back is feeling better soon.

Purple – how often do you have your hair cut? πŸ™‚ The only time I lost 0.5kg like that was when I had my hip length hair cut to a Mia Farrow (remember her?) style. The hairdresser offered to buy it as it was fair, fine and straight. Still fine and straight, not fair any more πŸ˜‰

Emel, I asked JJ, the tech on this site, to send you my email. Sorry I didn’t think of it before but remembered when Purple mentioned it.

Keep up the good work all and thank you once again for all the positivity and encouragement this thread provides.

    Hi Nicky
Too mean to pay hairdressers very often and just very thick hair:( I lost several kilos when I had long hair cut short.
I’ve always calculated our TDEEs on the end game. It never made sense to keep eating at the old size and expect to change habits. The smaller portions become the norm very quickly.
I also calculated our end goal weights by looking at healthy weight charts for height and aiming for the middle of healthy. Where we both have now been for 8 months. P

Nicky …peelywally means pale looking as in not looking well . I use it a lot .

Thanks guys I do appreciate my Dad I give him lots of kisses and cudles an tell him I love him . he is a very loved old man and the nice thing is he knows it even with Alzheimers πŸ™‚

    Wee xx

Purple, so smart and organised! Absolutely spot on always.

Oh to have such thick luxurious hair – why do we always want to look like what we’re not?

PS to earlier post: Lizzie, apologies for not mentioning you. Could picture you but name wouldn’t come. Of course thought of it later after I had stopped trying!

Cleaning up spare room this morning for my brother who’s staying on Monday night. Then Christmas shortbread for office gifts and mince pies which I will freeze raw as suggested on this thread – excellent idea for the weak-willed like me.

46th wedding anniversary on Sunday – we’re walking down for leisurely brunch to cafΓ© in the village about 1km away. Grand-daughter’s dancing concert in the afternoon so should be lovely day.

    Happy Friday all.

Not organised at all, N. The place looks like a bomb hit it!
Psst…I think poor Happy gets left off lists too πŸ™‚
Have a wonderful wedding anniversary on Sunday, both of you β™‘β™₯ P

P, if RT had found 5:2 18 months ago he wouldn’t be now spreading peace and love on this thread. Are you saying you’d rather he wasn’t here…? πŸ™‚
