  • wicken, I’m very impressed by your granddaughter and her sporting achievements. Where does she get her talent from? Could it be through her mum’s side of the family? Your daughter sounds an impressive lady, too.

Love the Persian poem. Different cultures often have a different perspective which it can be useful at least to consider.

I can remember when pub food was a choice between ready salted or cheese and onion. Cheap booze in supermarkets and the smoking ban has forced pubs to be more competitive and the fact that so many of them produce good food is a blessing IMO. I like getting dressed up, going out to a nice restaurant, being fussed over and eating a great meal, but I also like the more casual affair that is pub dining, and it is a shame when it turns out to be a disappointment. Having said that, even the best restaurants can churn out poor food, or give bad service.

    Hi Kiwiwiwi
Thanks for the congrats. I only boasted to show solidarity with hermaj but I am extremely happy to have passed my grading exam and to have it over with. I didn’t fast the week before the test and travelled home on what would’ve been the first fast afterwards so ended up with a fortnight off. Luckily, no permanent damage done and I’m back on the wagon as from last Friday.

Karate is statistically a very safe sport. Rugby and horse riding are far more dangerous. Our one overriding principle is never to make the first move in a fight (outside the dojo anyway) and our training makes us confident (we don’t look like victims) and we are strong enough to sprint fast out of trouble. We sign a declaration promising never to use karate except in self defence or to defend family and friends so you are safe if we meet in a dark alley! I was 44 when I took up karate. Look up KUGB for your nearest club!

Oh I forgot you aren’t in the UK. Sorry Kiwiwiwi πŸ™‚

    Hi Lizzy,

I’ve never done any martial arts, but have thought about it off and on over the years. I thought I might be getting too old (45!), but apparently not! As a matter of interest, what made you choose karate?

Well I think it’s encouraging to hear about success , wether it’s fat loss or some other achievement .
Especially for emotional eaters. It’s good to find new ways to deal with emotion other than picking up a spoon. If that means sharing on forum . That has to considered positive rather than negative. I’ll just say my first year on 5:2 was not on a 5:2 forum , but I drove my Facebook friends nuts with all the little info posts. And sometime my thoughts unreferenced have been called out. I’m glad . I believe there are 6 posters on this thread past and present with 40+ lbs lost And have more to go. That’s amazing .

Finally got to lifting sets .
Relaxing in movie chair my homer eater watching zombies that are not dieting at all. Eating my chicken legs and growling at my daughter I can sound like something straight out of hell . She keeps yelling DADDY! STOP IT!
Plan to get on the stability ball soon. Trying for a 1,000 calorie exercise day. Then go to work. Will be a double, do it will be about 40 miles of walking .
Was hoping this would happen as I’ve been on a carb fast, now poised to burn fat as my glycol reserves should be low.

    Hi Happy

I enrolled my younger son (then 7 years old) in a youth association class because I was concerned he was getting some low level bullying at school. I then enrolled my older son because it looked like good fun. My daughter refused to be enrolled! πŸ™‚ Weeks of ferrying the lads back and forth followed, with me watching them training for the last few minutes of the class and becoming more and more fascinated by what they were doing. I so wanted to join in but told myself I didn’t have time (this was an excuse to avoid something new!) I told many people how much I’d like to join a class and the day came when I had to make good on it. I was teaching in our local infant school (yes, I too am a former school teacher) and my boys’ karate instructor started a class straight after school right there in the school hall. I was morally obliged to join the 5 and 6 year olds in the line up! The rest is history πŸ™‚ I’ve trained for 18 years and never tired of learning karate. I moved on to a club class outside school so wasn’t a cuckoo in the nest for too long! Not having time to do the things you want to do is a serious mistake. Make time while you can!!!

    Hi Happy,

I enjoyed your wee boast. Re martial arts. For what it’s worth, Tai Chi and Qi Gong are also martial arts, rather less vigorous to be sure but also requiring strength, control and grace, with versions such as ‘sword’ and ‘fan’. Him Indoors is in the process of qualifying as a Tai Chi/Qi Gong instructor, so I get to hear a lot about it. He just needs his practical demonstration approved and he’s right there.

For some reason I just don’t get this kind of movement. My lovely acupuncturist, now also a good mate, consolled me with the fact there are people who are more attuned to their mind than their body, so not to grieve.

Have a look on youtube for demos of various kinds of martial arts, which should give you some idea.

Wow, great posts from you all while I’ve been sleeping πŸ˜€

Hermaj as Jojo says just don’t read the other thread. You’re part of the “family” in here and we love and accept you for who you are πŸ™‚ . We all may “brag” a bit from time to time, but that is what we’re here for to help each other celebrate our losses and commiserate any gains and to help keep us on track for our own results too.

Wicken great re your granddaughter and daughter πŸ™‚

Hi Lizzy, Happy, Smiffy, Amazon, Ply, Bay, SAMM, RT, Wee, Jojo, PVE (yes, where IS purple hiding?), Kiwiwiwi and anyone not mentioned by name. Hoping you all have an awesome 5:2 day this Monday morning πŸ™‚

I managed to keep to 1200 cals yesterday (well 12 over) so today will be a semi-fast day (up to about 800 cals)

jojo and Aussie Oma (loved the Vegemite song btw),

Thank you both for your reassurances.

Rest assured I never went near the offending thread. I read it in full on my email, i.e. the reminder you get with the full text. I immediately reported it. Then checked Recent Posts to track down the writer. Job done.

New week, new beginning. Mine’s already begun as I work on a job due for delivery tomorrow before noon. I’ve had enough already and the brain is turning to mush. I’m off to join Monsieur and catch up on the Sunday papers.

Have a great week, lovely ladies. πŸ™‚

Glad to hear you’re moving on Hermaj πŸ™‚ enjoy the Sunday papers πŸ™‚ … me, I’m off to work in a minute (early start today) have fun everyone πŸ˜†

    Night night everyone πŸ™‚

    Wee xx

Have a really good night’s kip, wee. You’ve earned it. πŸ™‚

Thanks herm . have a good night/day too . I will make this 2 stone by Tuesday if it flippin kills me lol . πŸ™‚

    Wee xx

Hi Jojo, I am a newby to the 5:2 program. I too want to lose a significant amount of weight. I am 72. Have been obese for many years. In three weeks I have reduced by 1.7kg. A good beginning for me. I probably would have lost more had I not eaten what I fancied on the non-fast days. So will eat what I fancy of healthy foods I like this next week. Eating 2000 cals per day is far too much for me so between 1200-1500 is better and I am not hungry. My motto is “Eat less, move more”. Hopeful Kath

    Hello Hopeful Kath and welcome.

Eat less and exercise more is a perfect slogan on this thread.

Great to have you on board. I am 59 and have lost over 50 lbs, feeling great. This thread is full of successful fasters who share their tips.

    Enjoy

    Love jojo xx

It’s very wet and very windy here on the bleak South Coast of Kent. May have a workout clearing up leaves tomorrow.

Good morning fast trackers from South Australia, where it’s 9am.

Welcome Hopeful Kath, I suspect our northern hemisphere mates are in bed by now. You have done well so far and congratulations on choosing this way of living (WOL). This a great supportive thread and you will learn much from the collective wisdom here. ‘Eat less, move more’ is a great mantra. So simple and with the IF WOL, so easy to achieve.

To all my mates on this thread, thank you for the warm welcome to this refugee from ‘awful August’. I think that being frank includes celebrating successes and acknowledging ‘could have done better’ moments. I suspect ‘boasting’ is part of one of Jim Hacker’s irregular verbs (for those of you too young, it’s one of many memorable comments which entered the language from that brilliant BBC comedy ‘Yes Minister/Prime Minister’.

First of my usual b2b days. So far so good with only small water porridge and black tea to start the day with OH then off to work. Busy day ahead so don’t expect any problems as FDs now just part of the routine after nearly a year. Looking forward to yoga at lunch time and carrot spirals ‘pasta’ in tomato, onion, capsicum and mushroom sauce with a sprinkle of grated parmesan for dinner.

    Happy Monday all.

    hi Nicky

Greetings from wet Canberra where the weather is helping the garden and the street trees. We will plunge to 14 C max from tomorrow. Crazy when last week was all 27 C and sunny. Am on my first fast day of the week also. Following on from Samm’s comments, I am having a green tea to speed up my metabolism.

Will now get cracking on vacuuming and washing the new tile floors. All good energy and moving much more πŸ˜†

Thanks to Amazon for the explanation about animated emoticons. Have to learn some more before I become boring. πŸ™‚

I enjoy reading everyone’s boasts, on weight, on health and on martial arts achievements. Well done, Lizzy. πŸ™‚

    Cheers, Bay

    Hi Bay.

Yes cold and windy here too, max 17 forecast. By the end of the week it’s supposed to be 30! We’ve had a little rain, probably less than 1mm so still need to water. This time of year is when I have most deaths of outdoor pot plants because the hot/cold/wet/windy cycle catches me off guard.

Happy fasting and cleaning. Your house will thank you!

    cheers, Nicky.

    Hi fast trackers
Sitting with the roof down in the Bot Gardens waiting to pick up my visitors. It is almost too hot even in the shade, but the views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House are wonderful. Can’t believe how noisy all the helicopters are though. Gee cities are noisy places!
Fasting today, so only a bottle of water and a book to keep me company.
You are right about losing plants Nicky. It has been deceptively dry here. I’ve lost a few tree ferns in my garden. πŸ™ Cheers all. P

I view my my attempt to lose fat to taking a journey around the world. Sometimes, on foot, on a bike, swimming across a river, into a car, or bus to an airplane. Where for whatever reason I’m the pilot.

I take a deep breath, I make sure know my location before I take off. Once in the air I ever vigilant of determining how off course I am to the destination. I keep making those course corrections.

5:2 has been the longest journey of weightloss I’ve been able to enjoy all along the way.

Here are some inspiration quotes. Well I hope they are inspiring ?

    Hi again all.

RT – I have a hand-held cylindrical cutter into which the carrot/ zucchini/whatever is inserted and then rotated and the shreds of veg come out through the cutting holes. There is a mechanical device called a spiralizer which I have seen on Amazon for about $35.00 and I believe General Trader kitchen shop also has something similar. Being a minimalist by nature, this one appealed for its simplicity, low price, ease of cleaning and small size.

SAMM thanks for all the uplifting quotes – lots to chew on there.

Purple, sorry about plant losses, always a grief.

    Hi Samm

Have had two cups of green tea so far today. Is it the case that if one cup of green tea is good, that four cups are four times as good? Or is there an optimum? I am substituting for my normal water. Having the same effect, but also sweating after the tea.

Thanks for the affirmations and other sayings. Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

Purple, I am sorry about the tree ferns. I love them. A day for grieving. B πŸ™

Hi Kiwi , And also possess a delightful sense of humour πŸ™‚ Bay

    Hi Nicky and Purple,

Oooh! I forgot that real fasting causes me to be cold. πŸ˜† Doesn’t help that our temps have almost halved in 24 hours. I have to remember that I am voluntarily doing this to trial Samm’s suggestion re green tea. Only one day. Only one day. I can do it. πŸ™‚

Hehe! How easily we forget when we are in maintenance mode. I looked back through my notes and I really haven’t done a proper fast since Maui in mid August. I’ve been coasting along at my goal weight of 60 kg on two semi fast days a week. πŸ™‚

Now I gotta get serious for my health ‘s sake. Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

The green is a triple benefit of
    1hydration
2 caffeine in small amout to keep the metabolism running full even when sleeping where as regular tea or coffee would have too much caffeine and interfere with rem sleep
3 green tea has properties that help to realease enzymez that help fat cells realease glycol.

also by eating sometbing very soon after waking up.

extending a higher rate of metabolism into sleep hours and waking up the metabolism sooner.

Ok I figured an new tweak to my personal ADF

I have basically two weeks ADF
    THEN
two weeks ADCR Alternate Day Calorie Restriction
my tweak is to use a combination of CR and exercise to equal 600 calories.

so im doing this today. So much exercise today im already kick started. πŸ™‚

    so my bmr is 2000
My exercise estimate is 1,000 calories for the day
    my intake is 1,100 food

So that leaves me with 600 calories same as a semifast day.

It feels like a last piece of my diet puzzle

A lot of people see weight loss as very complicated thing to achieve when in fact it’s not. It just takes a little dedication to exercise and strict diet to lose weight fast as what is expected. The great combination of a workout routine and a healthy diet will help you lose fat. The thought of reducing the food while maintaining a hardcore workout will definitely lead you to your success in weight loss. By doing this ideal combination, you will get fit, lose weight fast and make the production of fats effete. It is the simplest and easiest way to lose weight without any surgeries and maintenance of pills. Oftentimes hectic schedules hinder a person to exercise that’s why a lot of professionals or working people easily gain weight. Maneuvering your physique helps you sweat out the toxins and by product of the physique’s system. In this way as well, the fuel that was converted from the accumulated fats of the body will be utilized hence averting the possibility of fat build up. Doing this with proper diet will let you shed some pounds off.

Among all diets that are touted as the best one with the most efficacies, diet with low carbohydrates intake remains to be the most popular. As what its name conveys, it is a diet that controls the intake of carbohydrates substituting it with protein and other nourishment instead. It still has an intake of carbs though but it is reduced compared to other nutrients that are indicated in the diet. The consumption of rice, bread, and pasta is lessened and the intake of fruits, vegetable and other food that is rich in proteins is raised. Though carbs triggers the production of fats, prohibiting the intake of it is blatantly risky and unhealthy for carbs are the food of the brain. Absence of carbs may cause severe complications especially in the mental health.

Morning all from a dull, wet and grey London.

I slept in until nearly 9am this morning.
The weather has scuppered my exercise plan for the day so a rethink is in order.
SAMM’s conversation with Bay has reminded me that I bought some green tea a while back. Time to get it out of the cupboard and start drinking it!

    Have a good day/evening everyone.

    Good morning fast trackers,

Another miserable day and a splitting headache to boot. I have to admit it is self induced, not enough water and far too much time spent on my ipad. So today I am only sending one message as I am having an ipad free day from now. I spent last night tracking Irish relatives, they went all over the world, America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and each family seem to have produced a minimum of five children. I added about 600 to my family tree, hence the headache.

I have a busy ‘sporting’ day on Mondays anyway right through to 10 pm, bowls, yoga, badminton. Missing ballroom fitness today in favour of my dental appt. painful, not the treatment but the bill.

No further loss on the scales today but maintaining the huge chunk I lost last week. I guess it will take a few days for the body to adjust. Fasting today, wed and Friday and continuing with low carb and minimum sugar. I have run out of milk so will be on green tea today too.

Congratulations all for your sustained efforts and success. Hope the other pound went for your anniversary Weemam. I am a Granny Groupee, you are so motivating to us all, cheerful and humourous.

Wish me luck, indoor bowls today, only my second game, I was rubbish last week.

So much to catch up on πŸ™‚

Great success for many of you, well done!

Welcome to those who are new to this thread πŸ˜€

As mentioned by Nicky our temp has halved overnight but expecting to jump again by the end of the week. It’s a nasty wet cold.

PVE the helicopters near the opera house would have been because of Mylie Cyrus (or however it’s spelt) appearing there on Sunrise this morning. All I’ll say is “no comment” re this person (in case you’re not sure, no I am NOT a fan)

It’s been a busy day for me. I finally found a pedometer which had a live battery and used it today … currently at 9,715 steps for today. This is only since getting dressed this morning after my shower and then straight to work. Will see if the numbers continue around this for a week. If it does then I’ll need to up the ante to ensure I’m doing at least 10,000 steps per day.

Had an early start at work this morning and a slightly late finish so at least I know I’ll be able to leave a little earlier on Friday πŸ˜€ which suits me just fine πŸ™‚ as I have to keep to a set number of hours worked each week at least for now.

SAMM yet more insightful sayings and information … love reading them all πŸ˜€

Bay, Smiffy, Jojo, Wee, Wicken, Amazon, RT (hope it wasn’t too cold over the border, lol), Hermaj, Hopeful, mksam and everyone else in the thread I hope that today brings you all the losses you desire (things like: another pound minimum for Weeman πŸ˜€ ready for tomorrow).

It’s not late here just yet, only 8:45pm, but today I’m very tired as it’s been a long working day and there’re still things I need to get done before I can get to bed, so I’m signing off for tonight … Cheers, AO xxx πŸ˜€

    Hi jojo,

Could I ask you for a bit of technical advice? After recent incidents you and others advised me not to go anywhere near a certain thread. You are abolutely right and I intend to follow your advice.

However, there are several of ‘our sort of people’ on there, some of whom even posted kind and supportive messages over the weekend. Can you, or any other experienced poster, recommend a way to contact these ‘good guys’. without becoming embroiled? I’d like at least to thank them.

Hope your headache clears up soon, your day goes well and the indoor bowls skills develop in the right direction. I imagine you need a slightly different technique for the indoor game. Is that correct?

I see you are drinking green tea. Do you like roebos – redbush – tea, as enjoyed by the Lady of Traditional Build at the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency? Do you or any other posters – are you there, SAMM? ;)- know whether it has specific benefits, apart from being cafeine-free and a rather nice colour?

Hi everyone, well I blew it tonight which is an absolute pain. SO what do people do to stay on course. I was fine for the first three days but today lost the plot and it was a fast day!!! I will stay on track tomorrow but I have to have a better plan…

Hi emel, the joy of this WOE is that if your fast day turns into a feed day you can just start again the next day. Can you fit in a fast tomorrow?
IMO planning is important. I keep a food and exercise diary, and I think ahead about what I’m going to eat and fit my fast days around any social events that will include eating. All diets rely on two things, eating less calories than are used and self control. There is no getting away from it, you have to try really hard not to give in, but if you fail, don’t beat yourself up, just try harder the next day. We are all so used to shoving food into our mouths at the merest hint of hunger, and it takes a while to learn to accept that it is OK to feel hungry, and that the feeling will pass. Some of us will go for a walk, someone else will eat a couple of carrot sticks or have a hot bath, or a hot drink. The other enemy is boredom. I try to keep as busy as possible on fast days from the minute I get out of bed until dinner time. The days I struggle are the days when I don’t have enough to do. I don’t allow my friends or loved ones to persuade me to eat either. I’ve actually suggested to a couple of people that if I didn’t know them better I would think they were trying to sabotage my diet!
Be patient and kind to yourself and keep trying, you’ll get there.

    Hermaj
I am one of the ladies on the LOACA thread. I did not support or criticize, as I hadn’t really understood what was going on. We were very fond of BooBoo, without judging you at all. I know you asked JoJo this question and I hope you don’t mind my answering too.
You did an analysis of yourself which was too critical probably. But at least you asked the question: Am I anyway responsible for awful August? I don’t have any opinion.
It is good to be on the LOACA thread as there are new people coming on all the time and every newbie needs encouragement. Maybe that is the role of those who are left.
It is not very encouraging to start this WOL, decide to post a comment, which just falls into cyberspace. Some LOACA have come onto ths thread and some have just disappeared. Who knows what is going on in their lives. The first days as we all know are not easy, let’s support the newbies in whatever thread they are.
There is also one person on that thread that I have got very fond of, so I stay to chat with her.
Only you know whether you can continue on that thread.
Does that in any way, answer your reflection.
Hope you are having a good day. I have been overdoing the fasting and breaking my fast with a glass of hot mulled wine is pleasant.
    Cheers
    KiwiWiwi

Emel1962, just put the bad night behind you and get back on track. Add an extra fast day, or semi-fast day this week. For the future, get those temptations out of the house! Hop on this forum for inspiration when you are feeling weak. When it seems nothing else will work, go to bed early.
Monday holiday here today, so no work for me! Three-day weekends are the only times when I actually get to relax for a day. Spent time cooking, knitting, reading the papers, and watching football (American) with hubby yesterday. Today will finish the scarves I am making for my two nieces’ birthdays next week, and organize food and clothes for this week.
    Have a great day, everyone!
P.s. Hermaj, my advice is to just stop talking about it, good, bad, or indifferent.

    Hi Kiwi
Love the sound of he mulled wine. πŸ˜†
Today I have done my first full fast in 8 weeks and had forgotten how cold I get before I eat any food. Trying green tea through the day, and coffee first thing as Samm advised. After I had scrambled eggs with grand kids at 6 pm I finally warmed up.
    Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

Hiya all from a chilly but quite pleasant morning in bonnie Scotland .

2 days BTB and the flippin scales are stuck on that pound off the 2 stone . I had still lost 1 pound in the week BUT I so much wanted the 2 stone for tomorrow BUT I only had under 300 calories the last 2 days and I KNOW it will shift .

I got into a pair of 14 trousers this morning so I know the inches are coming off . 6 years ago I was a 22/24 .

My poor hubby is a bit under the weather but he never complains . We got the flu jab last week and we have never been up nor down with it BUT it seems he has had a wee reaction to it this time . He had a triple bypass about 7 years ago and now has an abdominal Aorta aneurysm . He hasn’t got a cold as such but he has an irritating cough (as he says) and I worry about that . I have gone shopping and bought honey and fresh lemons and blackcurrant and paracetamol so I will take care of him .

I just hope he is feeling a bit better for tomorrow 53 years πŸ™‚ 56 since we met .

It was so funny as I was chatting with our eldest granddaughter (she is 25 ) and she was asking how many years would it be ,I said 53 and she said Wow!! even longer than my Dad has been her . I said ” I would flippin hope so lol :).

Well I am off now to do a quick run round with the dyson and a wee dust .

Ross bought me some gorgeous flowers when we were out shopping ,They look lovely .

I am feeling quite emotional lol . Can you feel the love? πŸ™‚ .

have a great day and be good .

    Wee xx

I’m having problems keeping warm on fast days now that it is getting colder. I do my workout first thing and that keeps me warm for a while but once I get cold nothing helps except food which is no surprise really.
I only eat in the evenings on FDs and am holding out for as long as possible, but I’m going to have to start having breakfast and a smaller dinner. A nice bowl of porage should do the trick!

I’ve just filled two bags with clothes that are too big. I caught sight of myself in the mirror this morning and realised that I could get another person in my nightdress without taking it off πŸ˜† I looked through my trunk of “things that will fit me one day” and found a new pair of pyjamas and a nightdress. Their day has arrived πŸ™‚

    Mulled wine, mmmmmmm!

Good one Amazon isn’t it such a brilliant feeling when things are falling off you πŸ™‚

Our lovely daughter in law is always telling me off ( in a nice way) for wearing things that are far too big when I am at home . I like to be smart when I go out and clean and tidy in the house but I was brought up to change when we came home .

I AM wearing trousers that are too big today but have a smaller size (that fit now:) set out upstairs to pop on before they came over tonight .

OK!! I am going to boast a bit ( just because I can πŸ™‚ )..I am looking for compliments with the smaller size on .

The house is all nice and tidy as I am a wee bit of a neat freak lol . I am ready for anyone to call . The family are all busy and work hard but they never forget anniversary or Birthdays . if we really need them they are here in a flash .

Have a great day all of you and Amazon enjoy the new nightwear .

    Wee xx

    Hi all

I hope you saw my post yesterday morning ‘boasting’ shamelessly about the little black dress?!

Hermaj, Jojo, and kiwi, I I hope you read it too, especially my comments about Hermaj.

Today started out as a fast day, and as we were travelling to Wales it seemed a good opportunity not to eat, but it was so damned cold when we got here that it was toast and Marmite ((with butter!) and tea with milk, so that’s all out of the window. Ah well, tomorrow is another day.

Off to take the dogs to the beach – with thermal vest on! Hope everyone is having a good day. Stick at it emel!

    Smiffy x

    Hi Smiffy.
I never used to get cold, I guess all that blubber acted as insulation.
Now there is less of me I’m feeling it more, so I’ve given in, put the flip flops away and unearthed the sheepskin slippers. I’ve not resorted to thermal underwear yet, but it is a possibility when it gets really cold!

    Ooh Smiffy,

I’m so, so sorry. πŸ™ I did see your post and was planning to reply, but I got caught up in the day job (freelance sometimes means working at weekends) and by the time I’d done, midnight was approaching and I was turning into a pumpkin.

I was very touched by your account of the ‘les Γ©vΓ¨nements’ which also made it clear what a pig’s ear the whole business was.

On a happier note, I loved reading your LBD story. I bet you looked a million dollars. And your mum is no slouch wanting to hang on to it. So it looks like you’ll have to buy your own, chum. πŸ˜‰ Which size I wonder? A small one to grow into or a larger one to grow out of? A dilemma that faces us all.

I’m sure I’ve asked this before, but whereabouts in Wales is your place? We’ll be heading westwards this coming weekend as we visit our rellies in the Forest of Dean. The weekend may well involve a cross-border excursion, unless it’s chucking it down like it is in London right now.

I thoroughly approve of toast and Marmite – with real butter – as a means of warding off the cold. Enjoy your stay and keep warm. xx

I have NEVER had a little Black Dress LBD … But watch this space lol . I bet you felt and looked amazing .

    Wee xx

Amazon, Smiffy, and anyone else thinking about thermals.

Re thermal undies, M&S have some lovely stuff, stylish enough to wear as outerwear when some of the natural insulation – polite word for fat of which I still have a bit too much – has disappeared as the tops are quite clingy. I love the whole range apart from the tights which for some reason I found horribly itchy, probably me rather than the tights.
