hope you haven’t felt too lonely, been at work all day too, so never have a chance to look at the forums. Thank goodness it’s the weekend – am dead beat!!
Have had a small set back this week, gaining a pound this morning! I think it’s ok though, was fasting yesterday, things had gone well but was unexpectedly treated to dinner in a pub! So bang went my speedy roast beef salad coming in at a mere 238 calories and in went braised steak, in mushroom and onion gravy, with mash potatoes and veg!! Not the worst thing to have but somewhat more calorific than my salad was going to be!!
Poor you with your PMS Kilda, mind you I’m popping to the Doctor’s in the holidays to find out if I’m in the peri-menopause or the main event!!! My skin is constantly spotty at the mo and has been for months, thought it was rosacea but think it may be a menopausal symptom!!! Was happy not knowing but the costant flushed spotty complexion is getting me down!!
Mothers day on Sunday in Britain so treating my Mum to Afternoon Tea – looking forward to it.

Kilda, i sympathise with you, am feeling similar grrr, never mind it’ll soon be over 🙂 cheesecake is asboulutely divine, if i say so myself.. Never tried with milk choc chips, so next time i may try white choc chips lol!! Wish i could email some to you all 🙂 i promise if there is ever a meet up i’ll bring one!!

Arghhh Hilly never mind about your small set back, nothing a fast wont rectify 🙂 as for the lb gain, happens to me too, so many things can cause it, a lot of the time is due to water retention due to salty foods so drink lots of water and you’ll see it disappear, i weighed myself one morning and found i had put on 2 lbs overnight!! I drank water all day, weighed myself in the evening and bingo, gone!!!!
Have a lovely Mother’s day , i no longer have my mum 🙁 but she is always in my heart…

Phew went for afternoon tea today, so rather caked up – was very enjoyable but so tired now and ready for my fasting day tomorrow. Hope I manage to lose the pound I gained and 1 more to finally reach my 1 stone!

Am back from the most amazing holiday and struggling to get through all my emails. Am not going to fast today as its my first day back but will give it a go tomorrow. Still as it was such an active holiday I managed to lose 3 more pounds so feeling pretty good.

Jenki2 how was your holiday? Must have been amazing! Thats brilliant u lost weight out there. When i went to Nepal 2 years ago for 2 weeks I lost alot of weight, but I was really active the whole time so think that helped alot.
Paris was amazing! Now I am back to work boohooo!! Been eating and drinking for the past 4 days so looking forward to fasting today.
Happy belated Mothers day to all with kids. Angie thats sooo sweet your son did that for you, aw bless him.

LD glad you are back on the “fasting wagon” I am fasting today as well and on Wednesday.
Delighted to say my Passport finally arrived last Friday – whew what a relieve I was getting very worried. I had another non scales victory at the weekend. I was trying on clothes for my trip and I have a lovely skirt which has never fitted me but now it does (just)!! Yeah it should be loose by the time I go on holiday in June!

Hi JFitzy thats brilliant well done! I hope that happens for me also. I am going to tenerife in 4 weeks time so would be nice to loose a few pounds by then.
Normally I am a size 12, however went shopping on the weekend and was so disheartened as size 12 skinny jeggings didnt fit so I had to buy a size 14, however they were called super skinny so I am going to have it down as they are made for super skinny people and not let it bother me!
I have fruit for lunch today and seabass and veg for dinner.

Ha ha LD I feel chubby after the weekend even though I didn’t eat that much.!! I am off to Dubai on Friday lunchtime and I will be back on Wednesday lunchtime so not too long a trip. My next weigh in is this Friday but I honestly don’t think I have lost any weight in the past 4 weeks but I am still losing inches so honestly I don’t mind what the scales says.

Can you help, I’ve read the book and joined the web but am still a bit confused . My TDEE is 1449 ( I’m 4ft 11″ and weigh 146 pounds and want to lose 2st) does that mean I can only have less the 400 cals on fast days. Also how much weight in what length of time has everyone lost oh and can I have ready meals

Sticking with 5:2 but I have been eating too many Pop Chips and having some chocolate which I honestly normally don’t have. I am back on my strict regime starting today as I have been feeling the affects of too much salt. I am going to to running twice this week as well to give my metabolism a boost! Mind you I was good last week during the week even though my Mum was here and I did manage to do 2 days fasting. I honestly think that because we now eat less during the week when the weekend comes we feel as if we are overeating (even though we are not)and which was probably the normal way we ate all the time before we all started 5:2!! 🙂

I am new to this 5:2 so I will answer as best as I can. I believe you should eat 500 calories on fast days and on non fast days you can eat 1449 calories but not more than this. However if you have less calories on your non fast days you should loose more weight. Also exercising will help also.
ready meals are fine as long as they are below 500 calories. For example on a fast day I would have a small amount of Alpen for breakfast and tea, I will then have some fruit for lunch, eg a banana and apple. I will also drink lots of water and have black coffee and dinner I have grilled fish or chicken with lots of veg. Hope this helps 🙂

It really was a fantastic holiday and am trying to slowly get back into working but so far failing! ooohh well.
LD – will join you in your 1 May weigh and avoid the scales until then. Am determined to get back into fasting and to keeping up the exercise as got really quite fit on holiday!

I agree with Shelly and stick to the 500 cals on fast days, but if you go lower that’s fine too so don’t worry too much!
a lot of people skip breakfast and lunch and go for an evening meal with the 500 cals, I usually don’t have breakfast but will have some calories for lunch and the rest in the evening, as Shelly said, unlimited amount of herbal teas, black coffee and water of which you don’t have to count the calories.

good morning ladies! It’s been so quiet in here lately, then I open the boards this morning and what a flurry of posts! And everyone is planning (or just back from) trips to all sorts of exciting places. I’m going to Hawaii in late July for my wedding – let’s see what weight I can be down to by then.

Hello everyone lovely to see everyone’s posts & seems like u all have had a good weekend.
I had a fantastic weekend went to a theme park on Saturday which was ace, the downfall ate so much choc & Pizza Hut. Haven’t been Pizza Hut for a very long time so I over indulged.
Then yesterday was Mother’s Day so again enjoyed choc. I think staying away from choc for a month back fired & on the weekend I prob ate so much that I made up for not eating it for a month. Oooopps
Anyway back to fasting today. I may consider 4:3 this week a I have a friends wedding in 2 weeks times & would like to look a little slim.

Hi Jayjay it does sound like you had a fab weekend!! I could do with some pizza right now, feeling hungry now but I am sticking to my fruit and water. I am sure you will lose the weight for 2 weeks for your friends wedding 🙂

I have sweets staring me in the face right now brought in from colleagues as one went to Columbia last week and the other went somewhere else so they have brought back goodies. My friend also asked me if i wanted to go Macds with her at lunch time and I have resisted everything!… will go Macds tomorrow lol! x

Thank you, I am determined not to cave in, it is hard when people bring in tasty lunch or when you see someone eating yummi junk food when you are hungry it doesnt help. I am getting married in 6 months so I have to be good, hence the reason why I am doing 5:2.
But the thing I love is you can always eat that cookie or that burger tomorrow so that keeps me going lol

Tried another recipe from the book today – Three Tagine – was very yummy but I failed to notice the not inconsiderable cooking time of an hour and half once you’d put all the ingredients in – so probably two hours in total. Worth the wait though 🙂
