  • Hi All,

I’ve just started 5:2 and would love to hear some of your success stories to keep me motivated!

I would like to lose around 70lbs in total, but I think having shorter term goals will help me stay on track and stay motivated.

I’d like to lose a stone by August 1st. What I’d like to know is, how much did you all lose in your first month on 5:2 and did this trend continue?

    Thanks!

    Hi ILike and welcome:

Over time, most lose about a pound a week on 5:2. You may lose more initially as you lose some water weight, but that rate of loss will not continue.

    Good Luck!

Get ready to drink patience, lol. I have been at 1 lb a week, no matter how I spice it up. Good news is that I am losing, not gaining. Try different approaches, finding the right schedule and fast plan for you will be key.
Here is a nice inspiring story.

There was a thread I lost of people posting their stories, I can’t find it right now. But there are other forum categories to find support & motivation.

You may lose more than 1 pound per week initially. I lost 44 pounds and it took 52 weeks. So about 0.7 pounds per week for me. I think you are less likely to rebound if you lose it slowly. You didn’t gain all that excess in one month so you have to be realistic at how fast you can lose it. Slow and steady wins the weight loss race.
