  • Just found this Sym

A couple of spoonful’s may be nice on frozen fruit Xx

    Natural yoghurt

This is yoghurt at its simplest and least adulterated – made by fermenting pasteurised milk to produce it’s characteristic texture and acidic taste.

The fat content can vary depending on the type of milk used, but low-fat natural yoghurt has only around 2 per cent fat. Natural yoghurt has the richest calcium content of the lot – one pot contains more than a third of the Recommended Daily Allowance.

Hi. Sounds to me like your struggling with keeping on track. Im a woman of a certain age and its really hard now. Had problems with my weight since my thirties. I decided Iv’e had enough and am doing the 5:2 for my own self esteem. You only started in January and it took me a similar time to settle down and concentrate on the fast days without worrying about the rest of the week. Iv’e had bad days giving in to the cravings but now I just start again the following day. It does get easier and Iv’e got the will power of a jelly fish. Iv’e now lost 2st 4lbs 5 months. Still have more to lose but feel better and more confident about carrying on. Iv’e never felt this way about any other diet Iv’e tried, and there has been many. So don’t feel bad about yourself, your feeling what most of us do. Keeptrying

    Hi Jean

I am so pleased your birthday went well. Enjoy your meal tomorrow. I really hope you have lost, like me you haven’t really had a nice loss for ages.

I’m weighing on Tuesday after my first fast day of the week. So Hemmy and I are on the same day. I would say frozen fruit will be fine, I know it hasn’t got all the roughage of fresh as the freezing does affect it. I sometimes have tinned Apple from asda with a little frozen fruit. I like this as I can warm it through. I have rhubarb that is also really low in calories. I add stevia to sweeten and have with half a youghurt.

I really hope you have a nice surprise when you weigh tomorrow.

Hi Hemmy isn’t that annoying. I do hate it when it dies that. If I have written a really long post I often copy it before I post. The worse thing is to go and find a link in the middle of it as it often disappears then. This is why I tend to add links in a separate post unless I have got one before I start writing.

This is a link to an article about youghurts and the healthiest. I think that Lidl’s are are good as well and very cheap. I remember looking at them before and checking Sugar content.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3117597/Sheep-milk-boost-bones-soya-beat-menopause-yogurt-healthiest-answer-surprise-you.html

Pam is having fish and chips on Saturday. I’ll let you know what the fish is like because I hate mushy fish.

Sun lasted until about two here. Then it became a bit chilly at the end of the afternoon. Rain is forcast for tomorrow.

I still gave plenty of aches and pains. I am feeling tired again but I don’t sleep any better. At least that would be a bonus. I am going to have a lazy day tomorrow as I notice my blood pressure is high today. I’m feeling quite overheated. I did have my fruit about 11.30 baked potato about 5 and cheese omlette and salad about 8 with a little chicken. No bread. I did have a youghurt though as I thought a little sugar would lessen the aches and pains. Going to bed in a minute with painkillers. I haven’t taken those for ages before last night. A paracetamol as well as overheated and feel a bit fittish. All this getting healthy is taking its toll πŸ™‚

Going back to youghurts I know that skyr is one of the lowest and very think. I haven’t tried the natural one and I don’t like the honey one so I always buy strawberry.

    Hi Coffee

I’m sure these aches and pains will soon go it is a process that will I hope make me have more energy. I hope feel a bit better today. Pace yourself. I am going to tomorrow a pretty lazy day planned, I shall do something but not too much.

Lots of articles likened it to cocaine addiction and trying to give it up. I wouldn’t say it is that bad (not that I have ever taken cocaine and would not) I also still have the natural sugar in fruit and a little in the youghurt I have. I have never really drunk fizzy drinks apart from on a rare occasion. I don’t have fruit juice is sugar in any hot drinks. I remember Jennifer Elliston on sugar free farm and some of the others and how bad they seemed. They got through it thought.

My third fast day or 800 day is tomorrow. I haven’t decided what it is yet. Probably over 5 but under 8.

    Hi Lynda

Well done it’s nice to have you on board. It’s so much better when a few of us are doing it together. It’s a shame we don’t live near one another as we could all meet up at the end of it with a slap up Neal and dessert!!

Audrey I hope all is well with you. I can see that there are posts over the page so I will read these and there may be one from you.

    Ginette

    Hi Hemmy

Came over the page and I see that you have found a link about youghurt.

    Jean

In the article that I linked it said that certain youghurts had so much sugar they were the same as ice cream. I know what I would have in this case.

Now Hemmy, stop teasing Sym with nice thoughts of food ……

    Caspersmum

Nice to see you here. Well done on your brilliant loss. I lost really well in my first year and they I reached a long plateau. I am now doing a stricter version of 5:2 fast beach diet. This is only for 6 weeks and will hopefully kickstart loss I myself and Jean.

There are 5 of us doing this and Audrey on the sidelines cutting out some treats.

Do you have a lot more to lose? I still have about 4 stone.

    See you all tomorrow

    Morning All,

A bright sunny day here but I bet it’s cold.

Off to the hairdressers this morning I need a good cut.

Well the scales…we have both 1 pound off…the scales for me was hovering with 2 pounds off I was off and on but to be realistic it showed more one so that’s what I have logged.

How can hubby be in holiday mode, 3 pints of beer, full fish and chips and he owned up this morning to a few chocolate biscuit bars (penguin) I have been really good 2 X 500 days, 1 X 800 all three were under…4 days under 1200. I had two small whiskeys!

The good thing I have my 1 stone off. I am very much a one pound off a week girl, so I am not expecting big losses. If the FBD just gets me off my plateau that will be good.

I am now chasing my next stone then I will decide if I need to go lower.

    Ginette..
Hoping you are feeling better and not so tired..its maybe the tablets you are on. I really hate yogurt it brings me out in big red bumps, maybe I am allergic to it.

    Hemmy..
Just finishing my weekly fruit, I have enjoyed it..I have a lovely fruit shop which sells fruit about to eat not like the supermarkets which you have to wait to ripen. A bit like a market but a bit better. Still the prices are good and this last batch has lasted the week I think I threw 2 plums out. Will be off there later…

    Coffee, Lynda..
Hope you are both doing OK

    Audrey..
Don’t work too hard ….have some lazy days

I hope all your weigh in days goes well and get nearer the 2 lb mark than me…

For me try harder next week…but I don’t think I can…but I am having today off for my birthday treat but mindful. Staying close to 1200 calories.

    Have a good day..speak later

    Jean x

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

A cloudy start so far here. I am just having a quiet day a bit of cleaning as it is usually a late night when Kristy arrives.

Gine .. I had forgotten about ice cream a scoop with the frozen fruits would be nicer than yogurt.

Hope you feel better soon.. it shouldn’t take too long. I suppose our bodies are craving the constant sugar rush its had in the past.

These days I am really trying to listen to my body. If its tired I try to have a rest .. feet up day. I know this can be difficult when its only us to get things done.

Ideally I try not to have two consecutive days out.. a quiet break to potter inbetween. As I am sure with you it doesn’t work.

My friend … we are the same age… She is on the go all the time .. recently she seems to be ill all the time. The body can only cope with so much I guess.

In the garden I am terrible … Andrew used to say when I went out ” now don’t get lost out there” and then say about 4pm .. come on in your going over the top. Lolol We must listen to our bodies.

Welcome to our corner Caspersmum.. well done on your loss and may it continue. xx

Sym hope its a good result for you both. xx

Aud .. enjoy your time away with Ian Xx

Coffee hope your day will be a good one for you. Xx

Lynda .. Good luck with the FBD. Xx

    KT. Xxxx

Karen.. CC… WM… and all have a good day whatever you are doing. Xx

    Brit lovelies..

Let your mistakes be your motivation, not your excuses. Decide right now that negative experiences from your past won’t predict your future. xx

Aww well done Sym and hubby. Another lb bites the dust and congrats on your milestone. Xx

Cheers to the next one. Have a relaxing time at the hairdressers and enjoy a lovely well deserved Birthday lunch . XXXXXXXXXXXX

    Hi Ginette K
Unfortunately I also have another 4 stone to lose. In the past the idea of dieting long term was daunting but Iv’e found the 5:2 easier and more doable. Iv’e been a comfort eater through many difficult years but I’m trying really hard to resist the compulsion to eat when I’m down. Its lots better so upward and onward.

    Hi Jean

Well done on your pound loss. I have heard that it is always more difficult to lose that last stone. Maybe next week will be better. I got my hair cut and permed as well. My hair won’t do anything without a light perm. It alsways feels so much better when it has been cut as well.

Maybe now hubby us back home next week he will get back to it. I am on the same tablets now that I have been for a long time and I was able to sort out things for about 6 hours with a cup of tea as I went. Now I am lucky if I last three. The only thing I have done is cut out food that isn’t good for me.

I used to be allergic to bananas as a child I came out in an itchy rash that kept me awake and drove me made. I had white patches all over me from calamine lotion. I tried them every few years, one time when I tried them no reaction, I am fine with them now. The rash wasn’t nice when I had it.

No pains today although they usually come on in the evening. Sitting in a chair and if I feel like a sleep I shall have one today. Overcast here. I need to put a map up on wall with flags in to see where you all are based as I keep forgetting.

    Hi Hemmy

Nice that Kristy is arriving later and then you can relax and enjoy her company. Yes I am taking things slowly when I can but I also want to get something done during days at home. It is, as you say about listening to your body and not going too mad. I am sure it will soon pass and next week I hope will be a better week that this week and also a lighter one. It’s my own fault for eating rubbish for such a long tome on NFDs. Even wholemeal or granary bread of course has some sugar in.

I have never tried frozen yoghurt. I tried freezing my own not successful. Maybe I will try with a different variety and see how this goes, when I have a bit of room in the freezer. The first one was icy.

I do understand that you can get lost in doing something you enjoy and not realise time passing.

    Hi Caspersmum

It will be nice to gave company for the 4 stone journey. Be wary of a plateau if it happens though, mine went on as I turned it into a break at watching food on NFDs and put on weight. I must say though I enjoyed that time and I did do three fast days a week. So no I can’t eat whatever I want on Non fast days. I put on about 10lbs over three months (including Christmas)

I did lose a bit but have gone up to post Chrustmas weight now. Hence the need for FBD. Once I have lost the weight I put on I only want to lose about another stone and a go half to two stone this year.

I hope you manage not to put on as this is really annoying. I must say though when I weighed just over 20 stone I didn’t feel overweight. When I had lost 4 3/4 stone and put back on 10lbs I really do feel overweight now. Strange isn’t it, I suppose our brains adapt to our new selves.

I really wish you luck with your weight loss.

Have a good day all, Jean have a lovely birthday meal, enjoy every mouthful and Hemmy gave a lovely evening with Kristy. KT and Cetic I hope you are well. Lynda wishing you a good start to FBD and Coffee hope you are doing well. All those who haven’t posted I hope your doing well and not fallen off of the wagon.

Audrey I hope things are good where you are and no wellies needed, it is always nice to have a break and a change of scenery.

    Ginette

Aldi are now launching their special buys online. Good as when I get there they are often sold out.

Here is the link if anybody is interested.

    https://www.aldi.co.uk/specialbuys/all-specialbuys/c/specialbuyscategories/?q=%3Apopular&page=21

I forgot to say free delivery as it is their launch offer.

    Ginette

    Hi All,

We went out for lunch instead of tonight, up to their usual lovely standard. Really enjoyed it. A slice of bread and butter first in ages.

We bought my fruit for the week. Thought we would save two journeys as they are both nearby.

    Ginette….
Strange …we both feel tired today so having a lazy afternoon, maybe a bit of reading for us.
I feel better for my hair cut, I like mine straight as it’s easier for me to manage. You must feel good yourself after your cut and perm.
I like rhubarb again handy to have in the freezer in portions. Although hubby would expect the crumble and custard !!

    Hemmy…
You must look forward to Kirsty coming at the weekend, nice company for you and Mr Pips.
Your apples in the freezer sounds good for breakfast, are they bakers? As the season arrives fill the freezer with portions to last through the winter.

    Celtic…
Hope you and Stu are keeping OK

    Casper….
Welcome to our friendly corner..congratulations on your loss so far.

    Karen…
Hope you are OK and maintaining

    KT…
Keep positive you will get there..then come back again…xx

    Coffee..
All going well on the FBD get a good weigh in. Lots weighing in Monday.

Something light for tea I have about 300 calories left

    Jean x

    Good afternoon friends
Bright and sunny here, but still feels rather chilly!
Had a good day yesterday, under 800cals so that’s my 3 done for this week.
I’ve decided to take the sensible option and get weighed on Tuesday after Mondays FD – if I weigh on Monday after a ‘normal’ weekend I might faint with shock :0
I’m another one who has about 4 stone left to lose. Not setting any targets as to when I’ll get there, after all this is a Way of Life so we’re going to be doing this forever, but hopefully getting healthier along the way. I certainly need to feel healthier than I do at the moment! LOL
Thanks for the link Ginette. We have a new Aldi, just opened last week, about a mile from my house. Some great bargains to be had there.
Glad you enjoyed your lunch Jean, and well done on your 1lb loss. I had to laugh when your OH lost the same as you after everything he had eaten that you had done without, it seems so unfair doesn’t it, but fellas bodies work differently to ours and they lose weight faster. They also find it easier to give up things like cigs! Grrrh! I reckon it’s because their brains only concentrate on 1 thing at a time, while our brains multitask. LOL
Thinking about you KT and sending (((hugs)))
Haven’t time at the moment to name everyone but glad we are all in it together and sending you all positive vibes. xx

    Christine

    Hi Dear Friends. xx

Thank you for the links Gine. .. love the Aldi offers .. 39p or 59p they usually have on the end rail are brilliant.

It is nice Kristy coming home each week-end but one on my own would be welcome. I know that sounds awful but I had hoped she would make some friends at work and enjoy one of the wonderful cities in the world.. That is what she wanted.

She never seems settled. Yo yo situation. Fast exciting job good money… then wants to be working in an animal charity/trust … not worried about the money. Lolol Gets bored easily and of course no worries of mortgage or family to contain her. May be good or not I don’t know… life is so short I guess she is doing what she wants and not harming anyone else.

Sym So glad that lunch came up to expectations. Been reading up on sugar withdrawal and it does make you tired and can have flu like symptom’s also.

But Yay Yay we can do this. Only 5 weeks to go after the week-end. Looking forward to my sourdough pizza and salad tonight,… the most carbs this week. Bet a couple of Merlots too. Lol Xx

Coffee so well done .. we can do this together. Hopefully a good day for all on Tuesday. Xx

Aud .. hope you are relaxing this week-end. Xx

Clarkey .. and MM hope things are good with you. Xx

J Mum Lovely to have you here. Do you have any tips for us after your wonderful loss. xx

    Thanks Ginette.
Its nice to share advice and experiences from another person with lots of weight to lose. I’m quite embarrassed admitting how much I have to lose.
We had a week away on an all inclusive hotel in Italy. The food wasn’t the problem as I’m gluten free so it was mostly meat, fish and veg. Problem was the alcohol. Don’t drink at home but had several cocktails and came back 6lb heavier. I wasn’t happy but didn’t abandon my diet as before. I just carried on and have shifted the weight in 10 days. Phew. Back on track now.

    to caspersmum
    thank you for your kindness

I also have another 4 stone to lose – and indeed more as the days go by as I am putting it back on

I am in a mh crisis at the moment and my head is in chaos so I just cannot get a hold on the eating

added to that my mouth/throat are so dry all the time that eating is causing endless problems

if I manage to eat some stew this evening it will be the first ‘proper’ decent meal for a week

Hi All you 4 stone to lose people as there are a few of us their is no need to feel embassment as you are amongst friends. I also never told anybody my weigh or how much I had to lose until I came on here.

    Hi Jean

I hope you had a lovely relaxing afternoon. I have had a really lazy day, asleep a lot, I must have needed it. now watching TV, just had fruit and youghurt. I didn’t have any today I had soup instead.

The bread seems to be working well. I weighed it today and it came in at under 100 calories, a nice think chunky slice that I can just fit into the toaster. As I was having two 800gm slices last week I have halved the bread consumption. I haven’t had it every day either.

    Hi Coffee

That is the reason I weigh on Tuesday :). Hopefully nice surprise for all of us fast beachers.

on offer in Aldi, oranges, large flat mushrooms, onions and green beans this week. I had an Aldis Orange in the week lovely and juicy.

    Hi Hemmy

Have you thought about an overnight in London to see a show? It might be a change.

    Enjoy your pizza and merlot.

    Hi CMum

It is lovely to have a short break and you lost your weight quickly so it sounds as if you have got the knack of enjoying yourself and then getting back to routine well.

I hope I didn’t embarrass you asking how much you had left to lose. As I said here we don’t judge only encourage.

    Hi KT

A proper meal will do you good, I love stew. I hope your throat improves soon.

    Ginette

Hi Gine .. I know I am silly but I would only leave Mr Pips with Kristy. He is my baby. Lolol I do overnight groupon deals with my friend Pam.

Thing Is Kristy phoned at 6pm just before leaving… they have done 4 events this week and she is very tired and cant wait to get home to her bed . Lol.

Hopefully it will work out for her one day. Trouble is I think what she expects of a man I don’t think there is one out there that could cope with it. Lolol

C Mum … Don’t be worried about us lot here. We are all shapes and sizes I am sure. Whether a stone or 10 stone to lose we are all sisters here. All routing for each other to crack the weight for once and for all.

As its a way of life hopefully we will all be long term friends here now. Xx

KT .. The stew will do you good xx Glad you are sticking with us dear friend. Xx

    To Keeptrying.
Sorry to hear things are not going well for you. I know that feeling and I’ve experienced it for years. It seemed the harder I tried to shed the weight the bigger I got and the more miserable, its a vicious circle. Its taken me along time to get to this point in my life and it was all about getting my head straight. Did some research into the 5:2 diet and decided it was my best and most practical option. As with all diets, we start them with so much hope but the reality is different. Getting your head straight is important and so is being realistic about our goals. I now just want to improve my health and well being instead of seeing myself as a size 12. We both can do it.
As for the dry mouth, it sounds awful. I’ve not experienced anything like that. I hope it can be resolved.

    Hi Hemmy

My son is like that with his dog. I quite understand. Obne day she will find someone who suits her.

I came in at 735 calories today, a real treat for me after many 500 calorie Friday’s.

    Hi CMum

I think most of us have all done what you described before finding 5:2. What I like about this is that it doesn’t feel like a diet.

    Ginette

Well done G. That was a good day on the cals

..Hope you have an easy day again tomorrow…be kind to you. As Mum says it will all still be there for another day. Lol

I enjoyed the pizza… after hardly any carbs this week it was nice… but funnily enough not as good as anticipated. Lol. Sods law. Having a couple of glasses of wine but it will be an early night to bed I reckon.

No walking for 2 days . YAY. Xx

First of all I’m asking for some help:) I may be going senile but I can’t for the life of me find the TDEE calculator on MY FITNESS PAL. I’ve been on it before so I know it’s there —help!

Well done Ginette! It’s amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it. I wonder if we’ll still be as good at the end of 6 weeks??? LOL

Glad you enjoyed your pizza Hemmy, my mouth was watering just thinking about it! Given that you didn’t enjoy it as much as you anticipated maybe it’s true that our tastes will eventually change and we won’t be so tempted by the ‘naughty foods’. Hope so anyway.

Hope you’re having a good time Audrey and that the weather is holding out for you.

Cmum, you’ve come to the right place here. We’re all in the same boat and paddling in the same direction…. all done with love, laughter and a gentle kick up the bum when needed. LOL

KT so glad you’re still popping in, it’s great to hear from you. I realise it must be really difficult but just try to keep your head above water, and know we’re all rooting for you.

Seems to be a lot missing at the moment. Hope everyone’s OK. Xx

    Hi Hemmy

I am glad you enjoyed your pizza. It’s nice to have something you look forward to but don’t have often.

    Hi Coffee

If you are on the MFP app look at the bottom where it says more. If you oress this it will open up a list of options, select Goal. Then put in your hoped for loss. Mine is 0.5 lbs a week it used to be one. Put in your weight and the weight you would like to be eventually. Then when you go into food diary you will see it works out what you can have on a daily basis. Of course it doesn’t allow for the fact you are fasting twice a week. So even bu putting 0.5lbs a week I should lose a pound a week or a bit more if I fast three days. My daily calorie allowance is 1700, yours may be different depending on how quickly you want to lose, I think a pound a week is just over 1500 a day.

    I hope this helps.

    Ginette

    Morning all

Having a lovely time here on Anglesey. … Sun is shining its another lovely day…

The diet has gone out if the window though…. met up with 2 friends yesterday and ended up with do nuts and cream….ah well I thought fast day tomorrow but NO just as we were leaving them some more good friends rang to say they are calling in today so lunch out… no fast day again and I know I have put weight on already.

However I suppose its good to have friends and they are more important than calorie counting. ..

    Sunday lunch is on too…

Glad you all are doing ok…. so many posts to catch up on and very bad WiFi. … apologies for not answering individuals. .

Have a great weekend. I am home Monday. . Tuesday fast for me friends permitting hahaha

    Audrey

    Hi everyone

Well started FBD Thursday 800cal day and a FD Friday, weighed this morning as it says too and lost 3lb……is this the way to do it 3xFD And 4x 800cal days?

Audrey enjoy your friends that’s what important…..together we can get you back on track. X

Hubby away for 6 weeks so no treats in the house much easier to stick to this plan.

    Lynda x

    Morning All,

A lovely bright day here in East Yorkshire. My birds (Housemartins) have arrived back from Africa this morning a week early, do they know tonight it’s going to be minus! Summer has arrived just about!

I definitely had a day off yesterday no merlot but shared some birthday chocolates with hubby..all gone now..they were nice! First box since Xmas.

Fruit eaten this morning…really helps the calories..and all focused for next week.

We are out in the garden again today just finishing laying some more turf, some rain expected for us this evening so it would be good if we can get it down, possibly do it in an hour. Maybe a car wash?

    Lynda…
I do Monday and Thursday FD…Wednesday is my 800 day so it leads into Thursday FD…all my other days are 1200 calories or under…..I have Friday as ‘off’ day for a glass of wine or treat 1200/1300 ish..I went over a bit yesterday because of birthday but it’s not the norm.

Last week I was hitting more like 1000 calories on NFDs because of my breakfast fruit, giving more calories at other times which I didn’t eat.

Did hubby plan to be away to help you on your FBD? Good lad. πŸ˜„

    Coffee..
Hope Ginettes sorted your MFP out…I am glad someone can help us..

    KT…
Keep popping in..we are all here for you X

    Audrey…
Glad the weathers holding out…these caravanning holidays can be a pain on a WOL ..it’s just no good if you can’t have food and wine…the others don’t know what we have to put up with! πŸ˜„
Just restart when you are back and enjoy….life’s too short…WOL is another day..

    Hemmy..
No walking? does Kirsty walk Mr Pips for you giving you a rest lol..glad you enjoyed the pizza sort of..it’s funny when it doesn’t hit the spot…all in the mind. Shame wine and chocs don’t give us the same feeling..chocs a bit…wine never πŸ˜„

    Ginette..
Well done on your calories…hope you all have some good weigh in days on Monday or Tuesday.

Hubby just saying to me we are 6 pints over on milk…that’s the fruit I am eating instead of cereals. Weekly shop again for us was Β£21…..Β£8 of it was fruit! Pantry and freezer still full….did we really eat all that food???

    Cmum…
Good to have you onboard we all have different weights to loose but we all together.

    I must get moving…..speak later…..have a good weekend friends.

    Jean X

    Hi Audrey

I am so pleased you are having a good time, don’t worry about the calories on your break too much as you have shown how you can lose them afterwards. Friends are certainly more important than counting calories on certain occasions, obviously not on a regular basis.

Enjoy the rest of your time there and don’t worry about us, we will be here when you get back, nice to have you pop in if you have a good wifi signal.

    Hi Lynda

Good on you!! Some of that weight may be food in transit so there may be more to lose. I agree much easier doing it when you don’t have other people to consider.

I hope it goes well for you and you lose that holiday weight and a bit more.

    Hi Jean

I have just had an orange and will have a kiwi that is sitting besides me…once I get my second cup of tea and a spoon. Eating fruit for breakfast actually adds calories as I don’t normally eat breakfast so all meals shift up, lunch later and dinner a out the same as I eat this quite late anyway. But no snacks in between.

I am pleased to say that no real pains yesterday so I didn’t need to take painkillers going to bed but still a lack of energy, I am hoping this will resolve next week. Yesterday I slept a lot during the day as I was so tired, in a way it seemed a waste of a day I did about 15 mins sorting, washed up and made some soup. So not a lot.

I am also suffering from food in transit. I am having porridge for lunch as a treat hopefully I won’t need to take laxatives. I always find thus when I cut my food down although I have only cut the rubbish out.

I am off to Aldis to get some oranges as they are on offer I may even get three packs as they are so delicious and juicy. 61 calories MFP tells me and the kiwi is 39 peeled, who eats the peel of a kiwi!! I shall also get fish and chips from Aldi.

I think maybe you will need less milk next week. You can’t even use it up in a rice pudding. Maybe some coffees that are milky or half and half where you have calories to spare. I might even have one of these myself. Tempted myself there πŸ™‚

    Hemmy

I hope you are enjoying your day, have a nice rest and enjoy Kristy’s company.

    Hi to everyone else.

    Ginette

    Wow lots of Brits!
I’m from Eastbourne right down in the South East. Anyone near me? This is my first week and it’s going great so far. I’ve done two 500 cal days which I found really easy and I’ve stuck to slimming world type days in between (lots of protein, fruit, veggies low carbs etc..)
    I feel better already 😊

    Hi Lisa, well come.

I’m in the Northwest, near Manchester. Been doing 5:2 a few months now and lost 30 lbs so far. I’m afraid I’m not as disciplined as you on non fast days. Still have a way to go yet, will keep plodding on.

    Lynda…
Great loss 3 lbs I missed it earlier well done. Looks like I am a 1 lb a week girl, I don’t really loose any more but I am going down!

    Lisa..
Welcome..glad you had a first good week. I live near Hull on the East coast
( 40 miles away) in a small village.

I had a surprise call from my daughter I met her half way for a coffee for an hour which turned into three, a lovely chatty afternoon. All jobs now waiting for tomorrow πŸ˜„ Special times.

    Ginette..
I am glad the pain is better than yesterday and you are feeling a bit better. It gets you down if it goes on and on.

We have just had a lamb curry for dinner with rice and naan, with two glasses of merlot my calories are 1262 for the day so that’s my lot. It was lovely and quick to make.

    Cmum..
My better half is from Leigh, we often go over to see his family.

    Hemmy..
Hope your weekend is going well and Kirsty is looking after you..enjoy…

    Audrey…
Have you managed to get any jobs done between the visitors…lol…have a lovely time..

    Jean x

    Hi Lisa

Nice to see a new face. I am in the South, well done on your two fast days, it sounds as if this way of life will suit you. The health benefits are really good as well.

    Hi Jean

Legs ache a bit again and I haven’t really done anything to make them. At least I didn’t need a sleep today.

I had porridge for lunch and it triggered off hunger. Strange as fruit doesn’t do this. I had fruit earlier.

Well I got the fish from Aldi. I got both tries both in batter but the normal one and the chunky one to see which I preferred. There was the same amount of grams in each pack and the same number of fish pieces. The difference ends there. The chunky were more expensive but they were delicious, white and flaky fish as you would expect. The normal ones were OK in size but quite grey and tasted awful.

I shall be writing a review on the site telling people to buy the chunky. The chunky oven chips were delicious. Maris piper, I put them on for 5 minutes less than the recommended time they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, best oven chips I have tasted.

    Ok review over.

    See you tomorrow.

    Ginette

    Morning All,

    A lovely bright cold morning.

We have had two good days food wise, a bit of wine but still staying in my 1200/1300 calories. Back on board now for FBD..a lighter day today.

A few inside jobs today after my afternoon out yesterday πŸ˜„ I need to alter a shade awning for the caravan (wishful thinking) putting more loops around the edges…that’s on the to do list!

    Ginette..
The fish sounded lovely and the chips…what was the fish any idea? Aldi things are good…even the cat likes her food from there, it’s cheap, it’s a nightmare if they run out as they sometimes do…she won’t eat it from anywhere else.

    Hope everybody’s OK……it’s a bit quiet on here…everybody busy..

    Jean x

    Hi Jean

It was called northern catch I think, just chunky cod they also do haddock. I shall try this next time. They also have very good reviews for yellow fin. The fish was a little small but to chunks make a nice filling portion.

    Very quiet here today.

I’ll be back later as I am off to Pams.

    Ginette…

Have a lovely meal at Pams, hope she’s fine.

I managed to get my shade awning sorted ready for our next venture in the caravan..so that’s a good job done.

I shall look at the fish next time I am at Aldi just for a change. I would prefer the haddock

Already for our FD tomorrow, belt pulled in for the week ahead.

Good luck to who’s weighing in tomorrow…some good results wanted πŸ˜„

    Jean X

    Hi Jean

I didn’t have roast today but chicken AND porkchop and chips. Why Pam decided to cook two meats who knows…. Also she cooked a fruit sponge pudding that my son refused to eat, I felt I had to have a little, I really didn’t want to and I found this really frustrating.

I have two full trays of meat given to me left overs from a barbecue. Why now!! The meat is home made burgers so should be sort of healthy, sausages once in a while treat and steak, I shall give a tray away and beg a bit of food in her freezer for me. I shall take a couple of portions home for next week.

They have chilli on them which I like but my son does not.

Hope you get off to a good start.

Let me know what you think of the fish xx

    Ginette…

Chicken and pork chop?? Chips…strange, but I bet you enjoyed it…

Still it’s nice being cooked for you…sponge pudd sounds good. Beef burgers should be OK homemade better than bought.

It’s good you are local to her for company it must be awful to have nobody to visit.

    X

    Hi Jean

Yes a strange combination and chips were some that I bought to go with the fish but there wasn’t room in her freezer.

That’s what I thought about the burgers.

My son is often here so she is ok for company. We play cards together after watching TV.

    HI Everyone

Ginette I did reply to your post on Friday night but for some reason it’s not showing – has this happened to anyone else?

I’m using the computer to try and find the TDEE on myfitnesspal not an app and still can’t find the flaming thing… must be a ghost in my machine! LOL

My husband, son and grandson state that Aldis ‘Breaded Haddock’ in the chill section is the best fish they’ve ever had, I can’t vouch for it myself cos I’m a vegi. πŸ™‚

Had a really bad weekend, went to friends on Saturday and had a piece of coffee and walnut cake… guess it’s true about wanting more sugar after having one lot cos all I’ve done since is scoff sweet things πŸ™ Starting again tomorrow and hoping I haven’t sabotaged myself too much.

I’m off to bed now so speak tomorrow x

    Coffee,

    MFP…..more…….goals……calorie and macronutrientgoals.

I think you can change your calories there.

    Xx

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

Its really turned cold here today .. such a shame.

Oooh pleased with the carb cutting and fruit till lunchtime.Scales look good and FD today.

Soo strange as Sat morning decided to just out of habit sit with Kristy and have toast and marmalade. Well surprise … before lunch felt really hungry which I don’t at all having fruit till 1pm. Wait 30mins at least for lunch.

That really proved a point to me. A good week-end with only 2 glasses of Merlot Fri evening with some pizza.. which again failed to hit the spot as it once would.

Apparently on reading up on it … fruit cleanses the body and of course the water element is good for the skin.

Yay .. feel good getting at long last back to how I felt years ago.. just listening to what my body wants and not just eating stuff for the sake of it or because its there.

Everyone else sounds to be doing well too.

Welcome Lisa .. this is a lovely thread everyone so helpful. Good luck.

    Anyone else fasting today. xx

Brit lovelies …Life’s short. Get out there. You can do it. Everyone can do it. Everyone. Xx

    Morning All,

What a chilly morning here and I thought summers was on its way.

    FD for us today.

I have had my bowl of mixed fruit this morning and half a pink grapefruit. This evening we have decided on egg, grilled bacon with tomatoes. Maybe hubby can have a slice of bread depending on his calories. A bit cold for a salad.

A house cleaning day for us, which has been put off for a couple of days…keeping us busy and out of mischief!!

    Hemmy…
I know you are busy with Kirsty on a weekend..I am worried we haven’t heard from you….is everything OK? Hope you had a good weekend…

    Coffee…
I will try the Aldi haddock…..your families reviews and Ginette’s…it’s easy to pass things over. Hope you sort MFP out…
