  • Morning All …
    A hot one!

No fasting as going out to lunch..

Charlie’s dog food has got lost in transit hope it soon gets delivered..I am ok for a week.

    Hedgehog..
It’s a worry and a good idea to go to the bank and sort POA out, just to have in place.
Nice to have the garden sorted.

    Dave..
Enjoy the bowls more you than me…

    Steve..
Well done on the fast day even the orange lolly 😂

Hemmy and Nana .. what you up to?

Looks like a very late walk this evening Charlie won’t like that…

    Jean x

    Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx

Its a beautiful May 1st .. always a sad one though as its the anniversary of losing my Andrew. . 13 years today … it still seems like yesterday.

Earlier walk then went to The vets and collected Pips Flea and worm tabs for 3 months. £61..
Lots of my friends buy on line Flea and worm tabs. What does everyone here do.

Earlier lunch .. well Breakfast really as just had an all milk coffee this morning.
Ranch chicken breast .. mash and broccoli this evening.

3 months 2 weeks 2 days no wine.

    The page has turned..

Sym.. Lovely day for going to lunch … I think its my favourite social time now.. a nice lunch and chat. .
Hopefully Charlies food turn s up. .. Was it from Amazon.. I had a delay once kept having notifications it was arriving it did after a few days.

Enjoy your day everyone ” Contentment is not the achieving of what you want but the realization of what you already have.”.. Xxxx

    Afternoon All…
Beautiful hot day sat under my brolly in the shade.. Charlie will have a late walk.. still he’s asleep in hot sun now.. stupid boy.
We had a lovely lunch out, looking across the fields sat under a brolly, so peaceful. A couple of Guinness and a toasty, more than enough.

    Hemmy..
I stopped Charlie’s flea and worm tablets off the vet’s last year. I believe they were giving him seizures, although he still has them.. I believe they were started off with the tablets.
I give him natural drops weekly on his body and worming drops two days a month on his food.
There is a lot on line about how dangerous the medication is.. but each to your own.
I also rub coconut oil in his coat twice weekly… I must start that again, as it will be tick time.
I stopped his insurance too.. he now has his own bank account standing at £2600 at this moment in time.

His food has turned up today.

Have a lovely time in the sun with pip..

    Xx

    Hemmy..
It’s a long time since Andrew passed happy and sad memories… hugs to you.. it never gets easier.
    Xx

I’ve stopped taking Chloe to the vets all together.I buy online now. My first dog was 19 when she passed away and never once went to the vets for anything. What worming do you do Jean sound good to me. It was boiling at bowls one more game left this week. I’ll miss Monday’s game will be at speedway and it’s a funeral on Wednesday so only Thursday and Friday next week.

    Evening!
Hemmy- a big hug for you, sad day 🤗 Sounds reasonable for Pip’s flea treatment, I’m sure we pay more than that. Xena’s on Symparica, it’s a tablet so not great for them but it’s the only one we’ve found which stops the ticks, they’re a real problem around here with all the deer…
Dave- a hug for you & Denise, tough times 🤗 Try & keep strong with the food, you’ve done so well…
Jean- a nice view for your lunch, not a fan of Guinness, yuk! A nice cold cider maybe … Is that the last meal out for a bit? Not long until your holiday!
Autumn sky- you do well resisting the biscuits! Sounds like you’re quite rural, I’d love to be out in the country more, we live in a rural area but on an estate…
Got the bank done for Mum, they were really helpful, that’s one account done out of 3! Had a coffee out with sis, fasting again today.Did some more in the garden this afternoon, it’s been another lovely day…We might go out tomorrow if it’s still nice.

    Dave..
It’s called All Natural Pets on line, both bottles for about £15, used for year still a lot left..
I grate carrot and give bunnies ears to help clear their systems clear of worms.
I also rub coconut oil on his coat, remembering under his arm pits, in his ears to prevent fleas and ticks.
    It’s called layering..

Lots of people around me don’t give anything at all.
    Worth looking…

    Hedgehog..
Last meal out for a couple of weeks.. Christine is going on holiday so no coffee mornings.
I love Guinness I must try the zero… good you have one of the bank account sorted.

    Jean x

    Hello all!

Brads27 – Resist the biscuits!😄 Where are you going on holiday?

hedgehog – Herts is a great place to live. I remember when we first moved there we went for a drive around the local area and saw a stand with a cardboard label with several bowls of eggs. ‘Help yourself’ the label read. It was then that we realised we weren’t in London anymore.

Started my fast at 19:00 last night and broke it at the earlier time of 12:30 today. Actually felt hungry when I arrived home at 17:45, so it was in the bread bin looking for the end slice (my go to comfort slice). Had chicken, rice and veggies for supper this evening with yoghurt.

Feeling a little excited as I ordered a few books to read for this long weekend. Love the smell of new books.

    Have a great evening.

Going to Yorkshire, should have been a cruise and a week in Majorca but got a new roof so no money for the cruise, will probably go next year now.

    Yorkshire is a lovely place.
I can relate to using money saved for a roof. We have been recently quoted between £12,000 and £15,000 to ‘replace’ our roof. We have opted to patch the roof for now for £3,000. Have not been a holiday for few years, often doing a few days here and there.

Good morning everyone, the sun is out but it’s much cooler today. Going bowling again but shopping at Sainsbury’s first. Mince and tatties for tea tonight, got a fair bit of colour these last two days even legs are starting to go brown, normally like bottles of milk😁. And you can see where my watch goes. Denise is like a mummy with her legs bound from knee to toe.I think Yorkshire is my favourite county even though I’m from Lancashire. But when it’s cricket then I definitely like Lancashire best 🤣😁. If the weather in Britain was like it’s been the last week then I would not even think about going abroad on holiday. And if Denise is going to be bad then we may not go again. She’s been looking at cruise’s for next year, will have to see how she is. One of them is to Monaco, Barcelona and the french Rivera, have been to three french Rivera but not Monaco and Barcelona. So that’s the one we will probably do if we can and a week’s stay in Majorca.

Good afternoon everyone.. another beautiful day. Xxxx

I am making the most of it as its going to be all change in the next few days… seasonal I expect.

Scales were kind this morning I had lost a lb so my lowest weight now.

Thanks everyone for pet advice.. I have decided to stay with the vets for tabs.. as they know Pip. and he gets a yearly examination .. Heart etc Also stay with Direct Line Pet Insurance £95 per month .. speaking to other dog owners ..one recently had to claim £5000 for vets bills Operation and after treatment ..a big chunk in one go. Hopefully all our fur babies will carry on being healthy.

Salmon and salad this evening .. Icecream and some of my neighbour tasty rhubarb with some honey in the micro.

A S.. Are you weighing weekly or no set time. It sounds like a good week for you .. I love reading.. a mixture really .. I am just on my 7th M.C Beaton.. Agatha Raison book.. I love them .. a lady detective with a potty mouth lolol.

Nana. Weekend… a time for Geraldine?

Dave.. Hopefully you and Denise will get your cruise really try to go … Monaco is absolutely beautiful. its just like a fairy tale ..white toy town it takes your breath away.. The most wonderful villas there as lots of the famous have homes there. I was enthralled when we went..

H H.. You have had a busy week.. so good you got Mums stuff underway at the bank. Did you go out somewhere nice today.

Sym.. So glad the food turned up.. xx Yesterday wasn’t too bad.. I said to Pam .. after 13yrs I just have to let it go being sad on anniversary’s of this and that. I think I was sent a sign by ole Mum on this mornings walk lol .. I was so busy thinking about the past that I completely forgot I had parked at a different gate while walking the bridle path . So after a long walk I had to back track about half a mile I heard Mum say “Concentrate Carol ” lolol

Enjoy your afternoon everyone.. The weekend is for no daily routine and doing what you fancy. Xxxx

    Evening everyone!

One of my books arrived today. Got a few things to do before I settle down and crack it open.

Brads27- Charlie Parker series by John Connolly (I’m on book 19) and Orphan X series by Greg Hurwitz (I’m on book 9) are my favourites at the moment. Two completely different genres but I do enjoy them.

hemmy – I may weigh myself tomorrow. I try not to weigh myself too often and focus on how the clothes fit and how I feel. Probably once a week, if that.

Fasted until 13:30 today. Was not too hungry with the hot weather. I am drinking at least a few litres from the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to bed. Work was good today. Only a few tasks left on the ‘to-do-list’ before I left.

Got to enjoy the wins when you can.

    Have a great evening.

    Evening!
Hemmy- oops, a longer walk than you planned missing the car! I don’t expect Pips minded! Good idea to keep the insurance for him, we had a £3,000 vets bill with Josie & that was back around 10 years ago! Really well done with another pound off!
Dave- hope that Denise’s legs do improve, it sounds really miserable…BIL’s dad has it, & foot infections which won’t clear up because of diabetes, he’s in too much pain to go out at all…is Denise okay to go to her Spanish lessons still?
Jean- well done doing a FD today, usually your day off, I’m sure you’ll get back to losing soon for your holiday!
    Nana- are you out tonight?
Autumn sky- enjoy your books, not ever read anything by those authors…I love reading but only if I have time to get stuck in! Hopefully your clothes will be looser soon!
I lost nearly 2lbs this week, worth the hard work! Just had one meal today. We went out to do a river walk not that far away, a friend had mentioned walking there & I’d not heard of it! It was a beautiful day, & a lovely walk…Now I’ve sussed it out I might take Xena although it’s further than I usually take her in the car. Sis is seeing Mum tomorrow, so will be nice to do something with hubby…

    Morning All..
Weather temperature dropping a bit today..

Nothing really planned maybe odd bits at the shops…over my birthday eating another pound up.. that’s 5lbs to loose from goal..

Still a bit of gloss painting to do and filling in the lounge maybe Sunday it’s much cooler.

    Dave ..
Sorry to hear Denise isn’t improving .. it’s hard to get away if she can’t walk.
Would she use a wheelchair to help her get out? Steve did at times

    Hemmy..
I sometimes have those sort of walks.. thinking and going passed my normal route.. I think just relaxing and taking in the surroundings it does you good.
I am looking forward to all the fruit coming through, I would like getting some in the future for the freezer for crumbles.. I love rhubarb..

    Steve..
I live in Yorkshire near Goole/Selby in a small village, lovely walks. I love this area I was from Hull.
My hubby passed 4 years ago and I am now just feeling more myself. So hard on your own and doing things, going places.
I keep busy reading, doing craft things for my daughters school fete, faffing in general.

    Hedgehog..
Well done on 2lbs off.. the new walk around the water sounds good, Xena will love it. She might get more used to going in the car..

    Nana..
What are you up to this weekend?

    Have a good weekend.
    Jean x

Good morning everyone a lot cooler today. Not decided what to have for tea, and trying to avoid anything before then. Eating to much just lately don’t know if I’m comfort eating because I’m worried about Denise. Got to pull my socks up. No bowling until Thursday next week, both teams have cancelled the game on Wednesday to attend a funeral of one of our bowlers. I’m very jealous of you lot, you all seem to live close to a river, I love walking down rivers and especially canals.Denise will be going to the Spanish lessons maybe in a couple of weeks she’s at the doctor’s this coming Tuesday.I am not sure about her being in a wheelchair, would have to hire one, Wouldn’t trust her in an electric scooter. She would run me over😄.

    Morning All..
Chilly morning possibly coat back on.

Later painting is on my list, 4 door frames, radiator and a loft hatch, a good hour should do it.

Trying very hard to get back on board fasting, I have been doing it in an iffy way. Holidays are looming in 5 weeks. No biscuits or chocolates in the house, it was getting back in a habit again.

    Dave..
I managed my river walk yesterday, as I got to the first gate, the cows were all fast asleep..so walked a mile to the next gate and got on the riverbank.. I must admit I was watching behind me. They all stay together so I least I knew where they were.
    Thinking where to go today..

Have a lovely Bank Holiday everyone..

    Jean x

    Morning all,

Brads27 – I don’t know too much about Denise but I know she is a close loved one and has not been very well. Understand comfort eating at worrying times.

hedgehog – well done for losing nearly 2lbs this week.

hemmy – great news that you are at your lowest weight.

Jean – congratulations from being close to your goal weight with 5lbs to go. Have just finished painting two bedrooms over the last two weeks, including the ceiling. Waiting on the garden to be finished later in may.

From my last weigh in, a while ago, I was 35lbs away from my target weight. However, I do have a few pairs of trousers that I would love to get back into as a goal.

Not a good day yesterday. Had a birthday celebration for a family member and was very good at the beginning. However, I managed to significantly overeat while there. I then continued to eat when I got home. I was going to weigh myself this morning, but decided not to. I know what the psychological effect can do to me if I’m suddenly 5lbs up from the last weigh in because I ate a lot of carbohydrates, and I suspect, a very high amount of salt.

Today I am fasting until 16:00. Slightly later, as I ate until just after 11pm last night, and I am still feeling very full this morning.

Hope you have a restful day.

Good morning everyone,AS Denise is my wife of almost 50 years, we was going to go on a cruise to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary but had to get a new roof so can’t afford it now. She as had a knee replacement and as been waiting for over 2 years to have the other knee done. Now she as lymphoedema in her legs so I think that might stop her from getting her other knee done. So a week in Haworth is our holiday this year. We normally go to Lanzarote or Cyprus. Will try and go on a cruise next year, it all depends how Denise is, she’s struggling to walk very far at the moment and it makes me feel so helpless.Roast beef tonight,I made the batter for the Yorkshire pudding yesterday so that’s will be good. Chloe my greyhound likes Yorkshire pudding and as the same as us on Sundays including all the veg. Will try not to eat any under 5pm tonight. The sun is out again so will have to find some more shorts.

Wow, Brads27! Nearly 50 years is absolutely incredible. You are still celebrating together this year, and have somewhere to look forward to going with each other, which is still wonderful. Sorry to read her lymphoedema may impact her knee surgery, and is influencing her well-being at the moment. I would imagine she is in a lot of pain. I have no doubt that your actions demonstrate your commitment to making her feel as comfortable as possible each day.🙂

We are heading out to the park at around 12:30 today. I have already started getting the picnic lunch ready: chicken and pasta, hard boiled eggs, salad, crisps, grapes, apple juice and lots of water. I will not eat until around 4pm, so will go for a walk while they eat. If there’s an ice cream van then the family usually get something.

    Afternoon All…
Finished my painting… 2 hours.. more than I expected I didn’t count properly..6 door frames radiator and loft hatch…
Then laid on the floor I have missed a bit of wall under the radiator… so that’s another days job as everything is wet paint!

Charlie is sulking as he likes me to sit with him, now I have got a cuppa tea asleep!

Fasting again today.. prawn salad for me..

    Steve..
Enjoy your picnic it’s cold here, I got caught in a shower when walking Charlie, I ended up with a poop bag on my head (empty of course)! Very damp when I got back home. Once all the celebrations stop the weight will move.
I went on a cruise in February and struggling to get back on track and all my family birthdays..
I had 33lbs to loose when I started.. I usually stay around goal..

    Dave..
Roast beef sounds tasty.. hard making it for one.
Hoping you both get on your cruise next year..

    Jean x

    Happy Sunday everyone. Xxxx

It s a bit of a change in the weather today .. quite a chilly wind.

I am loving the pretty walk at the moment soo much blossom. I will miss it.
    when over.
Its a quiet weekend in the village lots taking advantage of the extra day.

Poor Kristy has lost her buyer ..the chain has collapsed so back on the market and hoping they don’t lose the place they want in Dorset.
Hopefully she will still be able to come on Thursday for weekend..

I am enjoying a lazy weekend… a bit of gardening and reading. .. Prawn stir fry this evening and tomorrow. Tasty and easy.

A S … Your picnic sounds lovely hopefully the weather stays good for you.

Dave.. That cruise will be something to look forward to next year. Hoping Denise soon feels better.

H H.. Well done on the loss that was a good amount and you deserve it. Did you go somewhere nice yesterday.

Sym… You have done so well with the painting… You will soon get back to losing.. just focus on your holiday now.

Nana .. hope all is well with you.

Enjoy the afternoon everyone. “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” Xxxx

I love picnics, went on one last year and really enjoyed it. Not done it for ages. We used to have them regularly at my dad’s allotment when I was a kid. Just put my roast potatoes on fine in duck fat😱. But they are tasty.I did then at Christmas and ended up getting the job for life. And the Yorkshire pudding too. Not been a bad day here, better turn my spuds.

    Evening!
Jean- well done cracking on with the decorating! How do you keep Charlie (& his hairs!) away? We need to do some of the paintwork but a pain with Xena, we did put her in doggy daycare when we did the lounge but I don’t think she really enjoys it…
Hemmy- oh no, poor Kristy, such a stressful business moving house. Hope they find a new buyer soon.
Dave- maybe you could get Denise out for a picnic again, somewhere she doesn’t have to walk far, could you drive to the reservoir you used to take Heidi to? It might cheer her up to get out?
AS- hope you enjoyed your picnic, hope you resisted the ice cream van! Shame about the birthday party, things like that are really hard…Have you got children at home?
Nana- hope you’ve had a good weekend!
We went out yesterday for a bit, it turned chilly though so not warm enough to sit on the beach. Picked up son’s washing, & got my veggie plants in. A lazy day today, we’ve been looking at holiday places but hubby keeps finding something wrong with everywhere I’ve found! Just had one meal yesterday, a bit more today, back to fasting tomorrow.

    Hedgehog..
My paint is quick drying, I like it, it keeps white too. It’s 5 years since I last did it and not much change in colour..Charlie just lays and sulks he doesn’t like me busy!
Nice to get away again, you find some lovely gems, hope you find something which you both like…

    AutumnSky…..
I must apologise to you, l have just realised I have mixed you up with Steve another new person. So I keep calling you Steve… so sorry…

    Night from me..

    Jean x

    Morning all,

I left a comment his morning at around 7am, but it doesn’t seem to have been submitted?

I think other threads are experiencing the same thing.

Not sure if this will go through either!

    Hi A S

I can see this last comment 8.28am but not a 7am one. X

    Thanks Hemmy,

Not sure if the lost post it will randomly pop up, but I am re-posting it, just in case.

    Jean – Not a problem!😀

hemmy – Had a great time. I didn’t buy the ice-cream in the end as it was too expensive. It was nearly £15 for four ice-cream cones with blue syrup and an ice-lolly. Ended up going to Tesco express and buying what they needed for about about £5. I didn’t buy any for myself, but I did eat the 4 eggs left over from the picnic when I got home.

Unfortunately, after weighing myself this morning I gained 3lbs. I do know that I am overeating as I am doing between 8-10k steps each day, which is an improvement from 900-1,000, I have greatly reduced the sugar, and I am doing between 30 minutes and 1 hour of exercise a day.

I will persevere and look at how much I am eating. I have never calorie counted before, and really don’t want to now, but I know this is my biggest most challenging issue right now.

    Morning All…
A lovely walk but a bit chilly..

Going to Jacqui’s for a couple of hours and lunch just a catch up before school starts, a busy last term before finish for summer.

I am making a big effort, mind set, 5 lbs to loose..in 5 weeks.. holidays ..
I fasted Friday and Sunday, next one Tuesday and Thursday…
No chocolate or biscuits in the house…no alcohol too.
Working well with being out today..

    Hemmy..
Sorry to hear Kirsty has lost her buyer such a stressful time. Nice she can come Thursday and talk it out it will do her good. Enjoy the garden.

    Autumn..
It’s getting into the mind set.. after a couple of months it does get easier..it’s a good idea to calorie count at the beginning it really helps..’MyFitnessPal’ app is really good.. the basic non pay is good enough.. it gives you an idea on size of what you are eating.. good luck keep positive..

Well I better get changed and move..

    Jean x

AS I think calorie counting is a must at least to start of with. You will get to know what calories are in your food that way then maybe stop counting after you have got used to it. I wouldn’t have lost any weight without counting them.I use an app and book it all down. Then when you go back to it you can see where your going wrong. It’s cool today and I’m going out to the speedway so definitely a woolly hat on. Better take Chloe out now then get ready to go. See you all later have a good bank holiday.

Thank you Jean and Brads27 for the advice.

I will start counting today as I haven’t eaten yet. I will see if I can download a free app that will help me.😊

Downloaded ‘Nutcracheck’ and have uploaded all my details and calories per day.
Added the meal that I am having for lunch which is broccoli, lentils, hummus and homemade dumplings, with a banana. Seems easy enough. 😃

I had that for 12 months the paid version, changed to My Net Diary now. I always get the paid version generally better but I did use myfitnesspal for a few years the free version.I can scan a meal now and it uses AI to work out the calories and nutrients. Not sure it’s 100% though. Speedway was close Aces beat Sheffield in a last heat decider. They ride against each other again tonight in Sheffield but will be an easy win for Sheffield. My dog used to run at the same place😁

    Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx

Ohh its such a change in temp especially over the fields this morning.

I need my brass cleaning its my dreaded job I detest it but it so suits this old cottage, lol. Maybe just do a bit a day through the week.

Later lunch again .. cheese and onion toastie .. then the rest of the prawn stirfry this evening.
Its a very quiet weekend here but I have to say I am enjoying it lol. Just easy food,, a bit of gardening .. readng ..

A S .. Yes I think its a good idea to count cals to start then you soon get to know how to work on how many you need to lose.
I always say there is a trigger that makes us want to eat non stop .. mine is wine… it makes me crave sweet things. My friend is the same but craves savoury things.
Another friend is crisps once started she cant stop. Find your trigger. lol

Dave.. It sounds like a busy day of sport for you.. It feels like Sunday.

H H I hope you find a lovely holiday place soon.

Sym.. You can lose that 5lb no prob. Just go back to how you started.

Enjoy the afternoon everyone. “The mind is everything; what you think you become.”Xxxx

HH where Denise does her Spanish lessons is right on the reservoir. The room what she does it is about 5 yards from the reservoir.I opened my phone yesterday and a video of the resavoir cane up with Heidi walking about😭😭😭. Speedway was closed,a last heat decider. But the Aces won.Two days to my weigh-in, not at all confident this time. Denise is looking at cruise’s for next year so I better get saving up.

    Evening!
Dave- hope you can get to go on a cruise, good that the speedway went your way…
Jean- nice you’re seeing lots of Jacqui, grandson home soon! I’m sure you’ll get the weight shifted, good you’ve got rid of temptations! What make is the gloss you use?
Hemmy- did you get the brass done? Every time you mention it I feel really guilty, my door handles need doing but I hate doing it!
AS- hopefully the app will help you, otherwise I was going to suggest just writing down what you eat, even if you don’t add up the calories, sometimes seeing it written down can make you stop & realise how it mounts up- or maybe that’s just me 😂 Did you enjoy your extra day off work?
    Nana- hope you’ve had a good weekend…
Did lots of cleaning today as my friend’s coming tomorrow, made brownies for her to take home, & a quiche for hubby’s dinner. Took Mum to see bluebells at a nature reserve, it was a bit of a longer walk than I remembered, so she struggled a bit, but they were lovely…Fasting today again.

    Morning All…
    A dull start…

I am fasting today my third of the week..Friday, Sunday and today… trying really hard this week.

Playing boules later, the playing list isn’t out yet..I might start it off…

The painting which I thought I had missed was a shadow.. so three rooms are now finished, I am pleased very bright.. just the blind to be fitted on Friday in the cloakroom.

    Hemmy..
Brass cleaning seems to come around quick.. is it a monthly job? Cheese toasty is nice and easy, good to please yourself. I was going to get a small piece of pork out the freezer.. I forgot!.. to eat cold.

    AutumnSky..
Good luck on the calorie counting ..it will help.

    Dave..
Hope you get your cruise booked, might save if you book early.

    Hedgehog..
Yes excited on William coming home.. this Friday.. Jacqui is excited..he leaves Japan Thursday. He’s been away nearly three years..
My paint is dulux, quick drying one coat, satinwood, mid sheen.. it’s green writing on tin. It’s easy to apply.

    Nana..
    What are you up too?

    Jean x

Good morning everyone there soon is out but it’s very cold. Taking Denise to the clinic to have her bandages changed, then off to Ashton to her bank. After that on to Sainsbury’s shopping so quiet a busy morning. It went cold last night had to put the heating on. I’ll have a cuppa then take Chloe out. See you later.

How do I get soon for sun🫣 predictive text 👀. Nowhere to park at clinic so I had to come home after dropping Denise off, do may as well have another cuppa. Jean where are the cows today hope you can get past them.AS even you book all your calories in on the app no cheating you have to book everything even sauce if you put any on. Best to scan each item.I weigh the sauce and butter once then you know how many calories are in HH lots of bluebells out now and even buttercups which I think is a very good sign, will be a hot summer 🌞🤞🤞.

Morning everyone, a sunny one here but there’s a cold breeze.
Hope everyone had a nice Bank Holiday weekend. Ours was quiet but we did have a widowed friend over for lunch yesterday which was nice. We’ve got two sets of friends that we first met in 1970 ,the Friday night meet up friends and the other couple was our widowed friend, who sadly lost her husband to motor neurone disease eight years ago, a horrible illness to watch our friend go through.
Autumn Sky, hope calorie counting works for you. I find writing down my meals everyday helps ,it’s surprising how they soon add up. I went way over my allowance yesterday but I wanted to enjoy my lunch with my friend, will have to cut down today which will be hard.
Dave I hope Denise is starting to improve a little, a cruise would be something nice for her to look forward to.
Jean you’ve been busy with the decorating, we’ve decided that we’re going to get someone in when we next decorate. Army grandson said he’d do it for us anytime but his leaves when he gets them should be spent with his girlfriend. Not long until you’re Grandson returns from Australia, bet you and your daughter can’t wait.
Hedgehogs you’ve been your busy self as usual. Thank you for asking about OH’s back problems, sadly it’s not any better and no sign of an mri scan appointment being received at the moment despite his Dr chasing it up.our daughter continues to enjoy her relocation to Yorkshire.
Hemmy ,hope the brass cleaning has been completed. I always think back to my paternal grandmother who loved her brasses and being made to help clean them when i stayed with her sometimes during the school holidays. Hope Kristy can find a new buyer quickly so she can keep the one in Devon. Enjoy your time with her this week.
My total loss for April was one pound but at least it wasn’t a gain.
Hope this post comes out alright and that everyone has a nice day.
    Nana xxx

I used to love getting the Brasso out and polishing.I bought a slice of corned beef pie, never had it before but it looked nice. I am starting again losing weight on Thursday. Funeral tomorrow so I might be having a pint or two, one they other hand I may just come straight home from the funeral, over got a lift there and back so will see if anyone is going for a drink at the wake.

    Evening!
Dave- hope the funeral goes as well as they do…how did Denise get on with the bandaging, rotten for her.
Nana- that was so nice of your grandson to offer to help! But he definitely needs his leave. Nice you’ve kept friends for all that time! Well done losing your pound!
Jean- will have a look for the paint, thanks! Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since your grandson went to Australia, it seems so quick, has he enjoyed visiting Japan? It looks a fascinating country.
Hemmy- what have you been up to today?
AS- hope you’ve done okay today…
My teeny tiny friend came today, I was feeling quite good with the weight I’d lost & had found a pair of jeans the other day I’d hardly worn I can get into now…but next to Sarah I feel like an elephant 😂 Made brownies as usual when she visits but I resisted. Still not found anywhere for a break we can agree on, maybe one possibility…Got to see if the dog sitter can have Xena though.
FD again today, been really cold!

    Hello everyone!

Thank you all for your support and advice about counting calories (Brads27, I will try not to cheat😉). It’s great to know that everyone more or less said it did help, even for a short period of time, even just writing it down.

I have been surprised about the calories in some items compared to others. I always thought that Tesco organic hummus would be high in calories, but it’s much lower than I expected.

I have enjoyed organising all the information with my details. I can pay for the app at just over £6 a month. For now, I’m feeling my way around. Had an egg (x 2) salad for lunch today with olives and fruit (apple and tangerine) in the later part of the day. I was surprised that it wasn’t as high as I thought it was at just over 350 calories. I do exercise every day, as well as the steps (11k so far today) and never really factored it in when counting the calories.

Supper was spaghetti Bolognese with turkey mince and I made a concerted effort to watch my portion size. Medium sized bowl and not my usual serving bowl size. Lots of water in between. I had a handful brazil nuts which are quite high in calories but still within calories.

Looking forward to weighing myself this Saturday.

    Have a great evening, everyone!

    Morning All…

You are starting to get into your tight stuff again, a really well done …

    AutumnSky..
Glad you are getting around the calorie counting..
I don’t count now, as you seem to have the usual food to you and get used to the counted calories .. strangely I did yesterday ..
I would count your exercise as a Brucey bonus and don’t include.
Good luck to your weigh in.. my weigh in day is Friday morning.. I have had a shake up this week..I have not been moving much a pound up and a pound down for months not very focussed.

    Hemmy..
Hoping Kirsty is still coming on Thursday..

    Have a good day everyone..

    Good morning everyone. xxxx

The suns out and it look looks to be a lovely day.

Kristy coming tomorrow .. so a nice long weekend I need a big shop today.

No wine for 3 months 3 weeks 1 day , I really am amazed how I don’t miss it or even think about it .. it was always my thoughts when I got Pips dinner in the evening.
These different things we get hooked on which triggers the ” wanting” must be some form of drug.

A S Hoping for a Good result for you with your Saturday weigh.. you have done so very well this week.

Nana .. Well done on losing your pound in April..

Dave.. I hope all goes well today .. its always so very sad saying goodbye.

Sym.. I bet you are all excited waiting for your grandson to come home. It so good for them to travel the world though.. I think it was the making of Kristy.. shows then another side of life and people

Enjoy your day everyone.. back next Tuesday Xxxx

Good morning everyone, yes I agree with Jean I never knock off calories gained by doing exercise. HH they told Denise her right leg is really bad and she as to have the bandages changed three times a week from now on. She describes her leg as something out of an horror film. Said they’d no skin left after they take the bandage off. It’s true what they say when you get older all your friends from years ago seem to disappear.I don’t see many of them now but have new friends who I see regularly. Good you had a cow free walk Jean. Not sure what will happen after the funeral service, they have made arrangements to go to a golf club after the service. I would like to go but it depends if anyone is going, I’m getting a lift to the crematorium but I don’t think he will be going to the golf club after because he’s driving. If I can get a lift off someone who is going then I will go, if not I’ll come home. Better get weighed now then take Chloe out. Not confident about losing weight this time, but I have lost weight every other time in the last year apart from when I gained a stone and a half in a week at Benidorm 😱.

As expected I gained,3lbs over the last 5 weeks but Easter was in that period and I stopped a few Easter eggs from going out of date. So I may start doing fasts again, not done any while I was on the MoreLife course. Will take a bit of getting used to though.

    Hemmy..
Your garden always sounds lovely… have you ever counted your pots? Well done on not having wine, once the habits broken it’s much better.. I am trying breaking my chocolate and biscuit habit.. I was so good for a long time once it starts it’s got you. Have a great weekend..

    Dave..
Denise’s leg sounds so bad I feel for her… it must be red raw. It will be a long time to repair.
Thinking of you on your funeral day…

    Jean x

    Afternoon…
Fasting til dinner tonight, getting used to the long fasts! Dave, you might be joining me next week then?!
Hemmy- I don’t have room for many flowers or shrubs so I have lots of pots too, I’ll take Mum to get the summer bedding plants soon & do some summer pots up, still have lots of winter pansies in full bloom…
Jean- hope you can lose a bit with an extra FD …
Popped to Mum’s this morning with a dinner for her, she’s leaving little bits of meals to keep for another day & sis had to throw some stuff out, it’s been in her fridge for days! Mentioned again about sorting her savings account out, she let me take her building society book & was quite happy about that, we’re doing the paperwork for her POA for that tomorrow…pleased she was fine with it!
Have a good afternoon all, cleaning to do now….

Good afternoon everyone, back from funeral. It was a nice ceremony then I went back to the golf club. Had 4 points of Guinness and a couple of pints of bitter. I would have stayed much longer but nobody else was staying so I came home. Chilli for tea. Might go mad today then start properly tomorrow.
