    Hi Plainy

Good luck for your weigh in.

    Hi Lynnie

Welcome pull up a chair and make yourself at home. As Jean says. Weigh and measure yourself plan your fast day menus in advance.

I always allow cups of tea, but some don’t and prefer to stick to calorie free drinks. You do need to count if you do allow drinks. I count the milk as I don’t take sugar and allow myself six cups. This fills me up, it is really up to the individual as this obviously cuts the food down to about 400 calories. I have soup (home made vegetable for a late lunch and then that saves 300 for my exeving meal. I used to always have chicken and vegetables but changed over the last 3 months. I am now going to go back to chicken and vegetables. I get the spicy one or bbq one from farm foods and cook it in the microwave. I weigh everything the night before so I just need to cook it the following day.

Many people eat different things and you can eat what you like as long as it is within the allowance. Maybe also have an oxo in hot water as a drink as sometimes people get headaches through lack of salt.

Good luck on your first day. A lot of people here have just started. I am one of the ones who was on this thread at the beginning. Audrey, myself and Milena are still here a year later. We have all lost weight, but just have more to lose.

I have the most out of the three of us. I still have about 4.7 stone to lose but I have already lost that amount and 3.7 of it on 5:2.

Have you got a lot to lose?

    Ginette

    Hi Karen

I missed your post as it went over the page.

    Night.

    Ginette

Audrey, hope they get things sorted soon. When I’ve had really bad spasms (due to the cerebral palsy) I’ve had a mixture of morphine, and gas and air. Weighed myself yesterday and I’ve gone back up to 13 11. We have been sleeping loads which will be making matters worse. Might have gone over 500 on todays FD. Going to attempt to give self a huge kick up backside and get back on track. Stuart had three seizures on Friday.. seems to be the pattern.. nothing for four weeks then 3 in 12 hours. I guess new meds are on the horizon. Hospital on Thursday we will find out if Stuart has to have the prostate biopsy. Hope every one is hanging on in. Atm I’d be happy with a loss of half a pound a week .

    Hi everyone,

My name is Shirley, I am 5foot 2 ins weigh 12st 1lb,and size 16. I would love to lose 3 stone and will be starting that journey today on the fast diet for the very first time. Karen, thanks for the input. Second day fast seems much easier, you just don’t get hungry. Weird.

Audrey, thoughts are with you. I suffer badly from sciatica. Do whatever you need to do to feel better.

Good luck to fasting folk today.
    Victoria x

    Morning Brits,

Up now …tea drunk…hubbys turn tomorrow to make it…..a lovely bright morning here in Selby today but it looks chilly.

Our first FD for three weeks, Xmas gone a few FDs between and now holiday finished. We have to get our mind set to get these pounds rolling..I believe a few pounds up but hopefully not too much for our Friday weigh in.

Hi Shirley…welcome to our growing group…lots of help and information between us…good luck on your first FD.

Celtic…poor Stu he is back in the wars again, hoping he soon feels better and the Docs get his med under control for his seizures, hoping all goes well on Thursday. I think you could do with hug and TLC also, it takes it out of the carers. X

Audrey…take care and get back to us soon you are missed….hoping the pain is under control xx

Good luck to the Fasters today hope it all goes well….and to the Non faster go steady..have a good day everybody.

    Jean x

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

A cloudy start to the day but dry and warm.

A big welcome to Lynnie and Shirley ..you will both soon feel at home in our Brit corner… lots of helpful advice and no lecturing. Lol Lovely to come and share our highs and lows with like minded people.
Most in a sense been there seen it and got the t shirts with all known diets.

This is a very easy going way of life can be tailored to everyone’s daily needs.

Join in the chatter and enjoy while losing the lbs. Xx

Aud hope you get some joy from your Doc and can soon be pain free and enjoying life dear friend. Xx

Plainy you are a STAR. Well done to you. 7lbs and wow wow. That will give you a good boost now … you know you can do it and any blips which are human can soon be kicked to the curb.

Yay I am so proud of you.. that has made my day. Xx

CC Lovely to see you here .. take care of you both. Xx

KT you Ok. If you are reading just be gentle with yourself . Xx

Have a good day friends ,,, lots of fasts today I think.

Back up and at it today …naughty week-end everything thrown in… Wine … crisps … choc sticky toffee pud and all. Lol

Never mind… fresh day new week and back on track now … cold gone.

Hot milk at 2pm … egg and bacon sandwich…satsumas at 6-7pm Lots of hot lemon water and oxo if need be. Ready for it today.

Brit lovelies Where there is no struggle … there is no strength. Xx

Hemmy…you make me laugh with oxo..I used to drink it 40 years ago when I were dieting…it used to make me feel so yucky in between it put me off eating…..but I did like drinking it. Again thoughts I might try again lol.

Glad you had a good weekend with Kirsty, you and Mr Pips it will feel all quiet now she’s gone. Still I joined you with a 2 glasses of Merlot and I had a few handfuls of nuts hubby a beer! A lovely lamb dinner yesterday with yorkshire pudd and trimmings and another wine..it was yummy. No guilt at all πŸ˜‡

I also had a good natter with mine, she is a teacher and her hubby is not a listener, totally uninterested what she does so she passes a lot of her thoughts through me..always has, so I sit and just listen ….she is going for another qualification so going through that as well. With the boys at football it’s nice just to be two of us, hubby in garage messing!

    Xx

    Hi Celtic

What a rough time Stuart is having and you along with him (Jean is so right to think about the carers). I hope the Meds get sorted out as well.

    Hi Shirley

Welcome to our group as Hemmy says we don’t judge and share highs and lows, good food days and bad, it seems to help us and others to know that you can have a really bad day and fall of that wagon and then the next day get right back on and it hasn’t done as much harm as you think.

We all have different amounts to lose and all have diffifferent time scales to get there. I wanted to start quickly and get weight down with just over 3.7 for me that was unheard of. Before it was a stone lost and a stone and a half on all in six months. At least I am still on the way Dow down and this year I shall be happy to lose much more slowly as long as I am losing. One and a half to two stone is my aim. I am thinking about the skin adapting as I have seen those awful pictures in the paper. I lost a stone in a few months before 5:2 so I can feel the benefits on my knees.

I think I read that a lb lost is 4lbs of pressure off of the knees. I did have problems with my knees before. A lot better know.

I shall post a link to another thread I started last year to plot my journey. I shall post it below this, it has advice to new people that I wish I had at the beginning.

Good luck today, remember if you are struggling it is just one day, tomorrow you can eat more. As Plainy says a lot of people here give good practical advice.

Many of us fast on a Monday so you have lots of company. Post here if you are struggling or just want to chat today, someone will answer.

    Hi Plainy

What a brilliant loss! Well done as you say even with a day that didn’t go to plan a tremendous result. It is nice when people start to notice the difference. I think you will notice it in your clothes first. Think that you are the only man on this thread, many others results here are listed by their wives. Maybe otters will be brave enough to join if they know you are here.

Men often lose more that than wives I am not really sure why but even at different slimming clubs I went to it was the same. The only reason I am posting this comment is so the women who are starting are not disappointed with a lower loss. Good luck to you as you still have to put all the hard work in to lose weight.

    Carry on the good work.

    Hi Lynda

Well done on your loss, l am sure that zip will move up, wouldn’t it be ironic if it was too big and you needed a new dress!! How lovely though…… Do you feel as if you have lost weight?

    Hi Audrey

I do hope that you can get something that helps you. Must be so miserable and frustrating for you. Let us know what the doctor says.

    Hi Victoria

I remember my Dad had it, I took advantage of the situation as he had decided to stop smoking, the doctor told him that if he smoked one more his blood pressure was so high he could die. I took his cigarettes and gave them away. He had smoked for a couple of days due to the pain he was in. I did tell him that I did it.

He would have had to cross the road to get to the shop and as he couldn’t even walk I knew it would be a while. He had the odd crafty puff of someone else’s after that but didn’t smoke. I remember him looking for some around the house. He lived another 15 years after that but died from lung cancer in 2005. I like to think that may he had a few more years because he gave up. He was my rock. I still chat to him now he was a talker like I am.

    Hi Hemmy

Yes it’s good that it isn’t raining especially for you and Mr Pips……. and of course all who walk their dogs.

I tried lemon water but found it too sour. There are lots of articles about it helping weight loss.

Good luck for today. I shall be off to Aldi to buy soup mix at 65p it is a bargain, nice too. I notice that the parsnip in it wasn’t peeled so plenty of fibre.

    H Jean

I hope the qualification is her choice and not the people she works for. They can be long and drawn out. Lots of work too. I can remember spending hours doing my Cert Ed.

Wish her luck. It’s nice for her to have someone to talk to.

    Ginette

Hi Shirley and others new to 5:2

The link as promised, please don’t feel obliged to read it. It’s there if you want it.

    https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/my-10-week-weight-loss-week-by-week/page/3/#post-131661

    Ginette

Ginette …a really well done blog…good one for any new people…your weight loss is amazing I know you have more to loose but you will get there….when you read it to yourself as I do mine sometimes, I think it really gives you a boast to motivate yourself on and know you can do it and have done it.

    Jean x

    Hi Ginette

I took my measurements and lost 3 inches so far in the place where I need to get that zip up any more would be a bonus.
Just popped over on your page 10 week loss wow I looked mine up in the first 2 weeks I lost 9lb.
    Lynda x

    Hi Jean

Thanks for that. I remember searching for information on how much would I lose what to do, best way to calculate what calories you can eat in a day, best calorie counter etc. I took so long trying to find this information I thought I would put what I had learnt in one place. Hence the new thread.

I know I will get there eventually. I seem to have reached a bit of a plateau at the moment and need to break that. I heard that it does happen but as long as I lose slowly without feeling deprived that what counts for me.

    Hi Lynda

That is great news. It is so important to measure yourself. I didn’t at first (I couldn’t face it) I now wish I had. It was hard enough to face the scales!!

    Ginette

    Hi Lynda

I have just seen that you and Hemmy went on my 10 week thread last year. I am just doing as you suggested and reading through the posts again. A few people from that thread disappeared completely. Sad that I think we need to stick with it once we are settled as I see it the only alternative is putting on weight again.

    Hi Hemmy

Now I know why you are saying I got you started. I see to be on four or five threads but now only on this one and my10 week one. I was even on the diabetes one and still pop my head in there, even if I haven’t got diabetes!!

    Ginette

    Afternoon fellow Brits πŸ™‚

    Xx

    Hi friends x

Yes, Gine looking at you blog you really have done so absolutely brilliantly.

Lyndia your loss is also awesome. With that determination your zipper will fly up as Gine says maybe loose at that.

What a shame others have stopped along the way … such a shame. Also you just get used to someone then they go. Lol

Must admit at the moment having a job to remember whos who. So I If mix you up don’t worry It will just be Hem being Hem. Lol I will soon get everyone sussed.

Must share this Gem with you. Mum stayed over last night as she wanted to clean the brass. Took Mr Pip…Mum did the brass.

Made her some lunch and had my milky coffee. It was decided she would be going home at 3pm. Well at 1 couldn’t find the front door key anywhere. Last remember having it when I came back from the walk. The key also has the mail box key and remember using it to collect the mail. Well we hunted all outside pulling up grass around the box… checked all down the drive. Mum getting her knickers in a twist worrying where it could be having visions of me going to bed tonight with the key outside. Lol

Anyway,,, low and behold 15mins before going home Mum found it in my peg basket Lol I had come back and taken some washing off the line an must have dropped the keys in the basket with the pegs. Will I ever improve I ask myself. Mum went home a happy bunny. LOl

Hope everyone is coping ok with their FDs Roll on 6pm Sym ,,, just had an Oxo. lol

    Enjoy your holiday Karen. Xx

Plainy .. Lol if you are the only male here you can bet we will all spoil and mother you… thats what us women do best. So all good. Lol Xx

Been to see Dr. Got more diazepam. …… nothing more to say really, he seems to think it will ease off with the tablets.

Hope you fasters are bring good, I am obviously not fasting at the moment. …

Good luck to you all fast or non fast

    Audrey

Oh Aud .. feel so much for you. You don’t deserve this pain.

Just have a good rest and let Ian spoil you. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks hemmy, I do appreciate all your support. ….. just not into fasting at the min too much pain just want/ need to eat….

Dr seems to think a few more days should start to ease it! Let’s hope…..

    Audrey

    Hi All.

Hemmy you sound just like me, I always have a list and leave it behind, I go upstairs for something do other jobs then after about 4 going ups I do what I had gone up for the first time…age is just lovely…another thing I collect everybodies keys usually in my handbag…I had hubbys set in my bag 40 miles away I locked him in and went to the office!! He had to search for the spare set and a odd back door key we have. πŸ˜‚

Karen have a lovely lovely holiday have a wine or two 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 x

I have dusted my fit bit and got it working again…it looks as if I have had a very lazy afternoon 1500 steps….very naughty…..will start tomorrow properly. Lol

We have had a good FD, hubby looking down his nose at his salad…told him he was fat…we are seeing some of his work friends at the end of March so he must try or they will be patting his tummy! πŸ˜€ He’s on track !

    Jean x

    Aud

Of course you mustn’t even give fasting a thought. I imagine it must be hard as you are so dedicated.

Just get you well again… that is the main thing. Healing thoughts and vibes are with you all the time. Xx

    Audrey,

I think our posts crossed… Glad your Doc gave you some tablets which may help…just really rest up and let it take its time to heal…no fasting until you are better lots of hugs at our end xx

    Sym Lol

Yes we sound very alike. When you say about going upstairs then do other jobs… That is exactly my problem. Lolol

I always have so many things on the go at once. I have promised Mum today I will do just one job at a time and stop multi tasking. Lol

Just had my sandwich … so a nice big glass of shloer and sparkling water…

Mr Pips curled up with me on the sofa … wonderful.

    Have a lovely evening xx

    Hi Audrey

I’m glad you have got more painkillers, the most important thing is to get better and fasting will still be there when you are feeling well.

I hope you manage to sleep well with them.

    Hi All

I love all of your stories of forgetfulness. Hemmy I am so pleased that you have your key. Jean I loved the fact that you locked hubby in!!

I just thought I would post this as it is also intelligent people who forget things.

Below are extracts from real life stories.

Forgetful anecdotes in the scatterbrained science of

anecdotes about scientists, mostly famous ones of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, so most of the expected names are here:

    The mathematician Norbert Wiener.

He “was noted for his absence of mind”.
Once he was lost after moving house, and, “accosting a small girl who was approaching in the opposite direction, he inquired whether she might not be able to direct towards Brattle Street. The child giggled: ‘Yes daddy’, she said, ‘I’ll take you home.'”

People who tried to do mathematics in the past risked being killed in war, dying from accidents, wandering off and getting lost, falling off cliffs, and so forth.

    1. Witold Hurewicz was a mathematician noted for work in topology and being distracted.

While on the faculty at MIT he once gave a colloquium lecture at Penn State. Several colleagues from Boston schools decided to attend the talk and they took the train to Pennsylvania for the lecture. Afterward, as usual, they went to dinner had a nice discussion, then all boarded the train and returned to Boston. Hurewicz could not find his car at the train station. So he reported it stolen.
A few days later the police called and said that they had located his car. It was in a parking garage in ………….. Philadelphia (500 km away!!).

    2. Guess who?
Someone called and asked for his address. When the receptionist said that she was unable to give out that information, the caller admitted that he was Einstein and had forgotten where he lived.
(quoted in one Einstein’s biography, confirmed by the university at which Einstein was working at the time)

So there you are. Maybe it is our intelligence that causes it πŸ™‚

I also have these moments……. I just wish I could remember some!!

    Ginette

    Karen

I forgot to say have a lovely holiday. X

Sorry Karen, i forgot too ! have a great holiday. ….

Thanks for all your good wishes, will not be on forum for a few days going to have a bit of a break till I feel better. No one likes a moaning Minnie. ..

Be good to each other and stay in touch together You Are stronger…

    Your friend

    Aud

Gine Thank you for that. Glad to see there is hope for us all yet. Lol.Xx

Aud You are most definitely not a moaning Minnie .. you are one of our loveliest bravest posters.

If you want to come and vent .. we will all be very pleased to see you.

In your words Aud .. together we are stronger. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ginette I like the idea that we are all too clever…that’s a first for me…lol
    X

Where is Milena Xx Hope you are ok… we are missing your fun posts. Xx

you are so not a moaner, Audrey –
    if anyone is its me
I send you lots of good wishes

I am struggling so much not to binge endlessly
when head is like this it is always a time I turn to food
not having stuff in the flat helps but end up bingeing on crackers or anything

have given up the skimmed milk and gone back to semi, in the hope it would make some sort of difference but no
it will probably just make me fatter

well done to all who are doing so well

    fd tomorrow, if I can!

Evening everyone my FD has not been the best gone about 400 kcal over my 600 allowance, I was just ravenous, have not eaten bad things just too much volume, in hindsight probably skimped a bit too much yesterday with the thought of the weigh in today! Then got up went on a 4 mile walk! So by the time my youngest came home and asked for a hot cross with jam and I found myself eating sultanas out of it and eating a spoon full of lovely strawberry jam, I was in a world of trouble! Eat some vegetable soup I made yesterday, eat the chilli (around 380 kcal) that id got out the freezer for my dinner tonight, then pinched 2 chicken sausages out of tomorrow’s dinner in the slow cooker! Then had 35g of all bran with a Mullerlight!

Naughty boy! Not going to beat myself up about it! A 4 mile walk and 1000 ish kcal is pretty good for a 6′ 19st 3 man! Well at least that’s what I’m telling myself! Well done to everyone who has fasted more successfully than me today, and good luck to everyone for tomorrow and the rest of the week!

Apologies I rarely speak to you all individually, I’m not very good with names at the best of times! Plus I’m male and all you lovely women know we can’t multitask x

    Morning All,

Audrey… you are far from a Moaning Minnie, you just need to speak it through and get it off your chest, we are all here for you. Everybody all helped and supported me with my awful tooth for three weeks at Xmas.
Rest up and take care. X

KT….there is all talk now on full fat milk being more better for you, although we are still on semi, it keeps you fuller longer so you don’t eat more….keeping off anything low fat as they put loads of sugar in….eat like your Grandma ate! ……Unprocessed.

Hemmy …are you getting used to the quiet….it looks a lovely day for Mr Pips…wrap up warm.

Plainy….don’t worry we all do it …today is another day because you had a bad day yesterday and you know you did….you will be better today

Ginette… I keep thinking of the sayings ..they are really lovely…….husband just said he’s off to the Dentist in 5 mins…I said I didn’t know …he said OK then I am off to Doctors! …Lol….age!

Karen …safe journey have a good holiday.

Lynda, Victoria, Milena, Celtic, Shirley…. hoping you are all OK and anyone I have missed,

    Have a good day,
    Jean X

    .

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

A lovely start to the day.. sunshine. Thank goodness we never had that predicted snow. lol

Hi KT Sorry you are feeling low .. just baby steps one day at a time. Try to come on and have a chat too. That will be all to the good I would think. Plus we worry about you if we don’t hear from you.

I agree with Sym on this low fat stuff. Since being here have changed to full fat everything.

I heard a Dr on the radio say that you end up wanting /eating more low fat cheese for example as you feel there is something missing. Better to eat a smaller portion of full fat.
Have full fat milk in tea but only need a dash. Take care KT Xx

Plainy … just keep on going .. it all pans out in the end… have faith in yourself you can do it and proved it. ( A bit more exercising … Multi tasking Is the way to go) lolol Have a good mindful day. Xx

Yes, Sym enjoying the peace . will be able to get on with a bit of spring cleaning with just me and Mr Pips to tend. Have a good day… whatever you are doing. Xx

Well dear friends just stepped on the scales and have put on 1 lb this week.

Never mind to be expected … I just thought to myself I wonder what I would have put on if I didn’t do the walking everyday.

Aud hope you are feeling better today Xx And anyone else not feeling well.Xx

Gine hope all is well in your world . Xx

Lynnie and Shirl hope you are doing OK. Xx

Onwards and downwards on the journey we go … achievements .. blips and all.

    Xx

    Hi Sym

Yes, I thought I would have gained a bit… the weekend was naughty but nice. Lol Its that Merlot that starts the damage.

Never mind cold gone and fit .. so back to sensible eating no wine should be ok now .

Glad you had a lovely time with your daughter.. She sounds like a very hard worker. We are so lucky they feel they can confide in us.. sharing they world. Xx

    Hi Audrey

We all deserve to have friends listen and understand, if you can’t moan to your friends then that would be sad. Besides look on it as a kindness, you are giving Ian a break. You moan away! πŸ™‚

    Hi Hemmy

Don’t worry about that 1lb on this week….off next. It is important that we enjoy some good times and I think that probably Kirsty needed that, so you have done a good deed…..

Lovely weather to be out with Mr Pips. That is one lucky dog to get so many walks. There are many that aren’t so lucky.

    Hi Jean

I do a lot of that spring cleaning in my head. It a lovely day for it but I am going to see a friend as I am struggling to edit a website template for my son. We both taught computers for some years and so think alike. I have managed some things but not others, so frustrating…… I don’t suppose there are any WordPress experts out there??

    Hi KT

You have your fair share of problems and trying to get to grips with 5:2 can be complicated at first. This forum is meant to support people and help them. As long as all comments are constructive and not always negative people stay. There have been a few occasions that people have been ‘over zealous’ in their criticisms and also plain nasty. CSome of the posts have been removed and the people with it! You are just struggling to get on track and I applaud you for that. It is so much easier to give up sometimes….

You will get there. Don’t expect anything that is worthwhile to come instantly. The more work we put in and conquer our bad habits, the more satasifaction we get. These bad habits are very often long term and we have spent years practising them. Don’t expect them to change overnight. They will…… eventually. X

    Hi Plainy

Just read the paragraph above. We have all had days like you. You can do another fast day if you like or just consider how much less this is that a normal day. Some people do two fast days and a low calorie day say below 1000 and this sometimes helps especially if they are overindulging a little on other days.

The way you decided to get there is up to you, what you feel you can cope with and what fits in with your lifestyle. You need to enjoy yourself a little as well as it is a long journey you are on like most of us.

The exercise is brilliant, keep it up!!

    Ok All

I shall finish this with something light to lift the blues….

Here are things you’ll only know if you’re really, REALLY forgetful.

    Leaving the house is hard

You have to check everything is unplugged seven times and hover by the front door wondering if the iron is 100 per cent turned off, even though you have DEFINITELY checked.
    Once more round the house?

    2. Going back to the house is hard

You regularly get to the train station and then realise you have nothing you need because you spent so long checking plugs. At least you’re getting fitter from all the sprinting though.

    3. The never-ending search for everything you own

Losing something approximately 25 seconds after putting it down is basically your hobby.

    4. Entering a room, looking completely vacant

What on earth did you come in here for? When did you take off your shoes? When was that window opened? So many questions.

    …….more to come later xx

    Hi Everyone

Lots of support on this thread so thought I would join in πŸ™‚

I’m back on the 5-2 train and determined to stick to it.

It worked great for my wedding, 2 years and 5 months ago…. I have flicked in and out since then but not stuck to it. I’m 16 / 18 pounds heavier than I was at my wedding.

I’m just edging into the overweight range on BMI, I flicker between OK and overweight depending on the number on the scales that day. My aim is 9stone6 (14 /15 pounds to lose) which is just over 2/3 up in the healthy bit of BMI

I would love to eventually creep under 9 stone which would be just a smidge under the middle of healthy BMI.

I have horses and dogs so that’s my exercise, I dont do anything ‘official’ but I am pretty active. Food is always my biggest downfall. I’m a horrendous snacker (savoury over sweet).

I’m currently part way through my first fast day having restarted. Melon, pomegranate seeds and celery have taken me up to 200 kcals. I find breakfast and then evening meal easiest ones to skip but can’t go without something during the day.

look forward to getting to know you all!

    Hi Gine

No 3 and 4 are my middle name. lol Spring cleaning in my head today now too. Beautiful sunshine. Pottering outside.

Having a very mindful day today … just had a lovely cheese omelette .. trying to go easy on those carbs.
It is funny as normally when I sit to lunch ( a sandwich ) other than FD days.

I am tired after having my walk then the food. Today just having the protein feel ready to get going again. Lol

Remember reading about a guy on the Atkins diet saying he had been out for pizza and garlic bread.. after many days of no carbs and nearly fallen asleep in the car on the way home. Makes you think… so wish I didn’t love that crusty bread.

Must go back to Aldi crispbreads .. I have about 4 pkts in the cupboard .. think I overdid it and ate too many.

Gine I do envy your knowledge around computers … I am really not too ofay with technical stuff. Must be really interesting when you understand all the jargon.

Enjoy the time with your friend Xx

Hi and welcome to Brits corner emilymeg.

Yes, its very supportive on this thread .. you are in the right place.

You did so brilliantly with your wedding goal .. it will soon be second nature again for you. Think we all tend to ease of a bit .. when there is a lovely relationship. Nice meals contentment… oh so easy.

Like you my only exercise is walking my 4 year old Springer Spaniel as you will know they need a whole lot of exercise .. very excitable. Lol

Sounds like you are off to a good start today. Try to keep popping on always good support to be had re recipes etc. Xx

    help! really struggling!

had 2 packets of quavers – up to 390 calories – TDEE means I should be eating 430 but for my first few fasts going to allow 500

but now panicking on only 110 calories to last me until bedtime – already thinking of giving up on today and starting again tomorrow

    talk me down!

    Hi Emily…

Welcome to our friendly forum…really quavers shouldn’t be on your FD menu…maybe think through your next FD menu and plan ahead have some protein as it fills you up more and keeps you satisfied. Soup is a good filler and low in calories, also your fruit you had is good.

I think also keep to your 500 calories it won’t make much difference and you have a bit more to play with. I sometimes go over a little bit and it really doesn’t matter. It’s WOL and it has to be doable.

It’s just getting back to what you did before on the 5.2 think back it worked for your wedding.

You will get there the first few weeks are hard but they get better.

    Good luck
    Jean x

    Hemmy..

Walking out today to up my excerise, hoping my toes hold up, hubby in garage playing with his motorbike. My Fitbit working good it makes me move.

Thought I might have a virtual dog, calling him Jack and take him out for walks πŸ˜… Hubby said he’ll buy me a lead and some doggy bags…what do you think?……lol..πŸ˜‚

I might only take him once a day….

    X

I know, bad choice made! I did have some soup as well.

I was super hungry and tuck shop right there….2 packets munched before I barely thought about it…

lots of habits to try and change

    thanks πŸ™‚
