  • Hi all,
My back is playing up again,I am crippled with muscle spasms and can’t move without pain… I have seen the Dr they want me to go into hospital for some tests…..so I am due to be admitted tonight….

Don’t know when I will be in touch, not taking tablet with Me….

    Have a good weekend

    Audrey

welcome Oddlass. Yorkshire hey ! Me too but moved from Pudsey over 30 years ago but people still say – where is that underlying accent from. Ha. You have done amazing ! 5 st +. Well done you. How do you feel now apart from looking a different person. I have just started the 5:2 and its weigh day in the morning. Week 2. Hoping for a loss ! I have also tried to reduce hidden sugar and boy is that the eye opener.
I’m interested in trying the fake Merlot – scholar and sparkling water.
Does anyone feel guilty eating on a FD ? I think once you fast from breakfast to tea you can go without tea too.

Dee- I feel great thanks, I had mobility trouble and breathlessness, and the difference now is amazing!! I count cals on FD and as long as I stay within the 500 I don’t feel guilty, I look forward to it!

Audry! Sorry about your back! I hope it feels easier soon, is it an ongoing problem for you?

Hemmy- Shopping with Mother’s is a work out all on it’s own!!

Darlin- I weigh every day, First thing before getting dressed or eating. but just take notice on what I have lost over each month.

Celtic- Sounds like a lot of stress in your corner! The GPS trackers are a great idea I am sure you will find them a great help…… you can set them to re-find your car in a supermarket car park too. LOL.

FD tomorrow for me. And getting a bit more pre-painting cleaning done before I have to start work.
I would love to get it all done before I am off work in a week or so. maybe then I would get some good walking time in.

    Hi Aud

Oh my goodness couldn’t believe this post. I do hope they can sort your back out… make you pain free.

Best wishes Aud healing vibes …lots of them heading your way my friend.

Come back ASP. Thinking of you. Xx

    Hi Dee

Welcome to the fake Merlot club. Lol When you consider 100ml of wine is 90 cals and Shloer 49… But only use a drop in the sparking water. Just colouring really. Also the main thing is … wine is awful for me. Gives me terrible munchies. I have consumed most of the food … sweet … then savoury ..that has increased my weight over the years is down to wine. lol

Hope you have a good FD tomoz. Ps I couldn’t do without my tea on an FD Lol Xx

Hi OD You are so right about Mums… and mine is 89 !!! lol

You must feel fabulous after all the loss. Walking is brilliant. I do an hour and a half most days with a young Springer Spaniel. Not only good for muscles and the body in general but also good for the mind.

Often my decisions are made … or talks with myself are done over the fields. You realise seeing all the beauty that nature provides .. we are just a small dot in the scheme of things.

Hope you are enjoying the thread. Xx

    Hi Hemmy

Your poor friend, yes a sad time of year for people who have lost someone special. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day makes me sad.

You sound well exercised and ready to face the world. Enjoy your Mum as time spent together is very precious.

Poor Audrey and things were going so well. We will all be thinking of you. Get well soon. Xx

    Hi Dee

No I don’t feel guilty eating on fast day as long as it is within allowance, I enjoy every last mouthful!!

Good luck for your weigh in.

    Hi Odlass

You sound busy, painting and it isn’t even spring yet. Hopefully not far away and today was certainly like spring. Yes fast day for me as well.

    See you all tomorrow

    Ginette

    HI AUDREY
GET WELL SOON LOVELY LADY YOU KEEP US ALL GOING ON HERE WITH YOUR PEP TALKS.
    SPEEDY RECOVERY XX
Fast day for me today good vibes to all us on the 5:2 road.

    Lynda xx

Well! Where do I start! 3 spot on days! Got up yesterday a eating day went on a 4 mile work, then we went to my sons bday meal! Had a lovely chargrilled steak burger and chips then 3 scoops of the creamiest vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cookie!, it must have triggered something because all the way home I was thinking what can I eat, got in I eat a 200g bar of cadburys fruit and nut (over 1000 kcal) in literally 5 minutes I could not get it in quick enough! Then about 15 biscuits! Then my fiancΓ© best friend came round cooked some delicious home made Indian food and you guessed it I got stuck into that!

There my new friends is exactly what I’m capable of!, it’s a fast day today which will probably be tough due to the carbs I eat yesterday! But I will do it! And probably be ok for the rest of the week. But these are my problems and I know it sounds awful but that was not a out of the ordinary day, I never tire of sweet stuff.

Said I was goin to bare my soul so there you go! Speak again later when hopefully I’m back on track, have a great day, and good luck whichever day you are on today!

And finally get well soon Aud you been a big help to me in my first week, thoughts and prayers are with you xxx

Hem – Mine is 88 and I agree with Ginnete about the time with them being precious, but ‘trying the patience of Angels’ just don’t cover it at times. Ha. love her to bits though! I think and talk things over a lot when walking too, but, as I have no dog, people must assume (quite rightly) that I am a bit Odd!

Lynda- I hope yo are having a good fast day? I will be doing my eating at lunchtime today, with a light snack about 6pm.

Plainy- Great that you are so honest! Denial is the worst way to get past this stuff! You are fasting today and think you will be fine rest of the week? GREAT! See what happens now. If you lose over the week, It may suit yo to have a weekly blow out to get it out of your system mentally, then ….. get it out of your system physically over the rest of the week. You keep working on it and find what works for you, The perfect way for you is out there ….and not in a book …. you will find it yourself!! Good luck on your Fasting day, let’s see how you are feeling NEXT Friday!

Aud- if you are home now, I hope the pain is feeling better now XX

    Morning All,

Oh Audrey you poor thing hoping you are soon feeling better and the hospital can sort things for you…backs and muscle spasms are so painful…lots of hugs xxx

Hemmy…Your Mum gives you a great workout…maybe another day may help when fasting. Lol ..yes I agree they are very special..I lost mine over 35 years since…still miss her but I have some wonderful memories.

Oddlass and Dee.. I am Yorkshire lass too….not far from Selby.

Celtic..hope the tracker helps..it’s a bit worry when people are unwell and go missing. Hope Stu’s OK and it didn’t upset him too much. All the recipes you are passing over they sound great.

Plainy….why not bare your soul, that’s why we are here to help, get it off your chest draw a line today is another day..good luck you are doing great.

Lynda…enjoy you Granddaughters birthday party and your lovely few days in Hotel have a wonderful time.

I am getting ready for our first FD on Monday in a while…. feeling positive…πŸ˜€

Have a good day fasters…a good day to NF

    Jean x

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

    Hopefully another lovely day today.

Fast day here … so will be waiting till 2pm for my cup of milk coffee. Change today from my bacon and egg sandwich. Chicken breast baked in foil with lemon juice and herbs… 3 small potatoes and some broccoli. Trying healthy clean choice today to see how it goes. Must now conquer my liking for crusty bread. lol

Sending good wishes to our dear Aud… hoping for a swift recovery… although I realise the back is an ongoing problem for her. Oh we need you here Aud… thinking about you. Xx

Hi Gine Yes, exercise is not a problem .. its been the eating and drinking. Lol

The walking I do I should be size 8 lolol Hope you a doing ok .. life does certainly dish out its ups and downs frequently so it seems… to some more than others.

Anyway … a bit naughty on my part for feeling happy today as my Kristy phoned last night and is coming home for the week-end. Sounds a bit down … very noisy there… not sleeping. Honestly what can you say … this is a very quiet village … she is in central London. Lol Do they ever get sensible I ask my self. Anyway will be glad to see her although she only went on Monday. Lol

Have a good FD today… take care. Xx

Plainy do not beat yourself up please. There for the grace of god goes us lot with you.

We are not perfect we are human. The best thing about this way of life is we can just .. start afresh the next day.

You have been so good so maybe not too much damage… its surprising sometimes we eat more the system just adjusts and moves it on.

I am finding these blips are less and less now. Time being the essence and you get to the stage where doing the fasts for awhile .. you will feel so bloated after over indulging it will be too uncomfortable … not worth it. Also most importantly the stomach defiantly shrinks. I cant believe a year ago I could have eaten 3 jam doughnuts straight off. Yuk. Lolol

Just carry on from today … Good luck Plainy we are all here for you. Xx

Brit lovelies and anyone else looking in. IN OUR AUDS WORDS TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER Xx

So often we become so obsessed on the finish line .. we forget to enjoy the journey. Xx

Sending love to Audrey. Get well soon !

Just celebrating with you guys today. I just hit 20lbs down mark since Jan 1st. Super happy. 2 more and I’ll be the 179’s which spurs me on no end! Thank you for all your support.

Goog luck to all fasting today x

    Victoria

Hemmy…..I think we crossed…have lovely weekend with Kirsty..it’s always lovely to have them home putting you on cloud nine.

Have a good FD before the storm of eating when you have visitor! πŸ˜…

I am having a visit from my daughter tomorrow, all boys going to Arsenal to watch Hull City so I have her to myself…A bit selfish but nice.

    Have a good FD
    Jean x

Victoria…really well done 20 lbs from January the 1st…you put me to shame and hubby….I hope to catch you up πŸ˜€

    Jean X

Well done Vet that is brilliant news. Have a good day what ever you are doing… you deserve it Thanks for sharing that encouraging news. Xx

Hi Sym … Yes we are so lucky they want to come home. We must be doing our job ok. Lol

Have a good day today and enjoy tomorrow. Think it may be real Merlot here tomorrow evening . Lol Better do a good FD today. Xx

Down 1.5 lbs. that’s 5 in 2 weeks for me. Feel so less bloated and positive about FD’s bring on next week ! Next FD is Monday for me. Have a great weekend all whatever you get up to. I’m having lunch with old playground friends from children at school days. Up early for the drive to Leeds but worth it x

Dee Well done you.!.5lbs and 5 in 2 weeks . What a lovely feeling to carry into the week-end. Enjoy your lunch… and safe journey. Xx

    Morning all,

Sending this off my phone, not got much signal though so hope it sends.

I am going for an x ray shortly on my back, they don’t know why it is in spasm, they have put me on some pretty strong tranquilisers so a bit spaced out now. … got a bone specialist coming to see me later I think….

Thanks for good wishes will be in touch when I can. ..not going mums now, and had to cancel zoe coming today….

    Audrey

Dee.. Well done on your 5 lbs, it soon makes a different, clothes fitting etc…..it makes you more positive πŸ˜€ Enjoy lunch with your friends go safely. X

Audrey… Take it slowly they will sort you out…our thoughts are with you… love and hugs. X

Hemmy …it might be a Merlot weekend for us before FD…..daughter thinks the Shloer may be too sweet for me? It’s nice when they keep coming back you’re right we must be doing something right..have a good one yourself X

    Jean

    H Audrey

As you see all our thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery are with you. I hope they get to the root of the problem and then can treat it well. Such a shame you are having to cancel the weekend but it’s more important for you to get back to health.

    Thinking of you xx

    Hi Lynda

Yes a few of us on fast day, sun shining again this morning it was over 21 inside yesterday.

    Hi Plainy

I think we have all had a bow out at some stage. Hemmy is right your stomach does shrink and your food choices change. I have cut down drastically on bread and potatoes, I don’t have biscuits in the house, I never could, if I have chocolate it would be a much smaller amount so I can’t go too mad. I like you love the sweet things, the cravings did lessen after a year but if I start indulging in sweet things normally over Christmas and last tear Easter it takes me a while to get back on track.

The cravings for these things will lessen In time. I have to have some sweetness in my life so apart from the occasional piece of cake, never get a big one I make rhubarb sweetened with stevia as it doesn’t give that sugar rush that even some other sweeteners cause. A sugar rush can give you an insulin spike and cravings. I also make sugar free jelly and have this on a fast day with a couple if spoons of yogurt on top. I mean to make my own but I have never got around to it.

On your non fast days lessen the amount of sugary foods you have, if you have coke drink the one with stevia and if you have sugar in tea or coffee change this as well if you can. Allow yourself treats if you like but look at two different things and pick up the one that you will enjoy with less sugar.

This forum will really help and we don’t judge as a lot of us have done similar things in the past. Have a good fast day today. I do three a week to counteract my overindulgence on some eating days. I wouldn’t reccomended this until someone has been on 5:2 a few weeks though.

    Hi Hemmy

Lovely day here are well. You can look forward to the weekend and seeing Kirsty. How nice that she wants to come home to be with you. Sad that she finds it noisy though. Hopefully she will adapt. I lived in London for 5 years but where I lived it was in a small road and quiet.

Not so give news about the car though. It will cost more than it is worth to fix. It is still drivable now and so I shall take a while to think what I need to do. I am not really in the financial position to get another one although it may come to that. Anyone got a car going spare?

    Hi Oddlass

I think most of our relatives can try our patience at times, my mum didn’t very often, she lived in France so quite a long way to see her regularly. I did get over there about 4 times a year though and she lived with me for 5 years before she died as she became ill and needed looking after. Apart from the problem of her illness she was lovely to have around. Her illness (Parkinson’s without the tremors) took a while to diagnose and then was problematic. But the pleasure of having her here was what I remember.

    Hi Jean

I hope you have got over your jet lag. Have you weighed yet, if not I would leave it until Monday and start thinking about it then.

    Hi Dee

Well done on your loss, it seems if everything is falling into place with 5:2 for you. It does take a couple of weeks to settle.

    Hi Victoria

Well done you!! Such a lot of weight lost in a short time, you must be really pleased.

    Ginette

    Hi plainy

Argh! Don’t cave in on your first week….I don’t buy things that could sabotage my 5:2 plan if you need to buy cos of kids get the fiancΓ©e to hide them away from you and fill your fruit bowl with fruit and grab that instead.
Hope you fast day is a good one.

    Lynda

    Hi Ginette,

Yes the jet lag is coming around a bit, we were in bed at 9.30 and awake about 6.30 this morning. Sometimes it can take a week but I think it’s better than other times.

I have jumped on the scales hubby has put a pound on I thought he was kidding me….me I was about 7 lbs up….nearly died….now dropped back to 3 lb up. I will weigh in after my first fast week which will be Friday. If I log it now it will really upset me so I would rather wait and feel positive after the fast week.

Still hubbys looking at going to our lovely fish and chip restaurant tonight. We have had such crappy food this last week and too much alcohol …I think we will go……enjoy…..draw the line…then feel positive for a new start.

I hope you are going well, you have not said much about yourself. You do such long blogs all very interesting.

    Take Care
    Jean x

    Hi Jean

Not too bad thanks BP is coming down a bit and stress not to bad at the moment although I try to keep away from things and people that trigger it.

No I agree you are right to weigh at the end of the week. Have your fish and chips and enjoy them. Remember tge weight on may just be food in transit for now. It must be really annoying for you and pleasing for him that he has only gained a pound.

    Hi Plainy

I have been looking at calories in sweet treats for you.

This seems to be a good idea you could add it to fruit……or just have it on its own.

Each scoop of Wall’s soft scoop vanilla ice cream contains approximately 40 calories – so you could eat more than six before you reach 250 calories.Carte D’or’s vanilla ice cream has a similar about of calories in it.
You could have almost three scoops of Ben and Jerry’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream – with each scoop containing approximately 100 calories. And could almost eat a whole Magnum ice cream – one contains 260 calories.

……..I don’t know about almost eating a whole magnum, why would you stop and throw the last bit away!!

    Ginette

Ginette really appreciate that thanks, it 13-00 just had water so far today, my mind is not in a good place, can get past letting myself down yesterday! I’m a total glutton when it comes to chocolate enough is never enough I can eat it all day every day, and it will kill me! I literally have to eat none that is clear because once I start I’m uncontrollable. Hopefully a day of fasting can re focus me!

Thank you so much everyone for all your help and support, your success stories and moments of failure are equally important as is shows we are all human.

Gine … whoop thank you for that news about icecream. Really love it so now it will be top of the treat list.

For some unknown reason I imagined it to be no go food.

    Hey love you Gine. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Painy

Yes how true is that. Moments of failure are just as important so that people find out how to overcome them. This is just one day that got out of hand. Today is another day and beating yourself up isn’t good either, try and move on and just keep those things out of the house!!

Doughnuts can also be surprisingly low, although a pack of six not low. I shall get of the treat subject now as you might find this hard on a fast day.

    Hemmy

Only happy to please you. If you team this up with sugar free jelly or even have it in a cone as they can’t be that high it will be a real treat. Xx

    Ginette

    Hemmy

Check this link for carte d’or calories.

    https://www.nutracheck.co.uk/CaloriesIn/Brand/Carte+d'Or

    Hi All

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-132597/Ice-cream-keeps-slim.html

Walls Cornish is only 80 calories for two scoops. A cone is about 20 calories.

Soleros are quite good as well.

    Ok enough about ice cream!!

    Ginette

Audrey. Hope the back spasm mends soon. Trapped nerves ?? I had a spinal fusion 2003 as I couldn’t bare the pain. Had 3 young children and couldn’t even watch a football or netball match. My thoughts are with you.
Plainly! What are we to do with you. You need a voice in your head saying – no you don’t need this you are not hungry and if you don’t have it it is one less day on the 5:2 and it can drop to 6:1 . I think if you need chocolate by a small baby piece – snap in half and eat slowly !!! Throw the other half away and poor washing up liquid on it straight away so no torments from the bin. Truthfully your brain doesn’t know if you’ve eaten 1gram or 100 grass. We are here to help .

    Morning All,

This miserable damp morning and very windy.

Up and running this morning cooking a ham, cheese and tomato quiche before my daughter arrives. Having it with cold slaw and salad ..a bit healthy lol

Went out last night and had our lovely haddock and chips at our lovley restaurant …really good as always….counting down to FD Monday….

    Ginette…what’s this about donuts…..one of my favourites….no calories πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. πŸ˜‡

Our thoughts are with you Audrey, hoping you are feeling a lot better this morning and are at home. Backs are a long process keep up with the tablets and rest up…… I was laid up for three months with sciatica it was worse than being in childbirth when the spasm came.

Have a good weekend ….all for now

    Jean X

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

A bit of a damp start to the morning … hopefully there will be some sunshine later.

Had a good FD yesterday … enjoyed the change of menu. Lol A bit of a moment late afternoon but had an oxo and drank lots of warm water with lemon.

I am not expecting a good week-end cal wise. If I can maintain this week that will be ok with me. You have to enjoy moments with family when you can.

Dee.. you did make me chuckle about putting the washing up liquid on the chocolate.

Of course you are right but I then had visions of us all standing there with bars of Cadburys in one hand and fairy Liquid in the other. Lolol

Have a good day Dee you are an inspiration to us all . Xx

    Hi Gine

Will be on the lookout now for marked down Carte d`or icecream. Often it is half price.. can get stocked up. Anyway .. that will be the new treat. .. just love vanilla myself not keen on flavours.

Hope you are ok … how are things going … are you sleeping any better. Some one recently told me a banana is good just before bed. Might be worth trying.

Have a good week-end whatever you are doing G. Xx

Hope this morning finds our Aud not in pain and being well looked after. Thoughts .. healing Vibes … Love to you Aud. Xx

Have a lovely time with your daughter Sym… will raise a glass to you tonight. Xx

Have a good week-end every one …especially all our new friends. xx

Just a thought Brit lovelies… STRESSED spelt backwards is DESSERTS Xx

I’ll have a bit of that…. Hemmy πŸ˜‡ Not stressed but lots of desserts…..

    Xx

Hemmy…….I forgot to say have a good weekend with Kirsty….hope she’s home safe and sound……I have a box of wine in the loft I think I will ask hubby to get it down and opened.

    X

    Hi Dee

As much as I know the sensible thing to do there is no way I would spoil chocolate like that.

    Hi Jean

    Yes the same weather here.

    Tesco Jam 225
    Tesco cream 260
    Waitrose Jam 256
    Asda Jam 252
    Morrisons 232
    Sainsburys 220
Lidl 251 (you can buy individually) watch out for calorie count on my fitness pal as this comes up at 130. I checked on Lidl’s own site and the count given was 251)

Just for you x. I thought that these weren’t bad especially telcos cream ones as you only have to buy two at a time.

    Hi Hemmy

Well done on your fast day. I seem to be up and down between a few pounds at the moment, it is a mystery to me why this week but that is even having three fast days a week!!

Even walls Cornish isn’t that high, that was really a surprise!! 2 scoops 80 calories. Now should I have a yoghurt or some ice cream??? I’m afraid there is no contest here…….. Do check out carte d’or though as different flavours are different calories.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    Hi Audrey

I know if you get a chance you will be reading this. Get well soon, I do hope they get to tge bottom of this quickly. Not much fun being in hospital. As you see by previous comments out thoughts are with you.

    Hi KT

You have been a bit quiet recently, of you have backtracked don’t worry as you can soon move forward again. Just keep reading the forums when you can.

    Hi Plainy

Have a good weekend. I hope all is back on track.

Have a good weekend all I shall check back in later.

    Ginette

Full zero fast today. Good luck to everyone else fasting. You can do it! X

Reposted this from another thread as too knackered to write, but hoping everyone is OK – healing thoughts and hugs to Audrey and anyone else in needxx

    Hi everyone
Just clocking in to say I’m still here! πŸ™‚

Life has been awful _ unexpected death of a close friends son has hit really hard and knocked the stuffing out of me.
Still trying to stick to the WOE and am down another 1lb so going in the right direction there I think.

I’ve been reading the posts and cheering you all on, so best foot forward everyone. Remember: No matter how bad life is it won’t be any better for being overweight and unhealthy (Think I’ll have that made as a wall hanging!) LOL

    Hi Coffee,

Well done on another pound off at such a difficult time…keep your chin up. Our thoughts are with you

    Jean x

Hi coffee, sympathy and my thoughts are with you at what sounds a awful time! I managed to get back on track with a 585 kcal fast day yesterday, had one meal about 17-00 last night, had a raging headache but got through it! This morning I made the hairy bikers lamb tagine, it was absolutely delicious had some for lunch even if it was a little expensive to buy the lamb! But have frozen two portions for a later date they came out at 445 kcal per portion! Feel absolutely warn out did not sleep very well at all last night, but have got to take my son to his swimming lesson in a hour, doing another HB recipe tonight when I return think it’s called chicken and chorizo bake or something!
Hope you are all well and are having a good weekend

    Morning Brits,

Hope everyone is well this rainy drizzley morning for us it supposed to get better later.

We had a good day with the daughter yesterday a few more eats than we should but never mind. I had a glass of Merlot last night but only one!…..a beer for hubby.

I am sure your day went well Hemmy with Kirsty and a few naughties at your end…maybe….but that’s life isn’t it. We are on our own a lot so it doesn’t spoil much ….take it as it is…..

Audrey…hoping things are improving…not heard from you so maybe still in hospital…take care xx

Plainy……you are doing a lot of lovely recipes… I like to cook on a FD…nice to be able to do them with non of the family knowing!

Vet…Full fasting day with nothing that’s hard going….

Coffee….hope everybody is coming to terms with the tragedy…takes time it’s a slow process…take it steady… hugs to you all..

Ginette….glad your stress is under control and you BP is better…take careXx

Karen ….have a few drinks on the Ski slopes for us all…..enjoy you holiday..

KT, Milena, Dee, Lynda, and anyone else I may have missed all have a good day…all a bit quiet lately πŸ˜€

    Jean x

morning, and thank you for your thoughts

depression is bad at the moment so it is very hard to do anything
have been trying to go out for some walks, but just feel so so very tired, sometimes can hardly drag myself back home

don’t know if it is the depression or the diet or what, as the getting tired seems to have precipitated the mh

don’t understand, as lot lighter and generally eat better so where is the ‘loads more energy’ people talk about?

lost just over a pound again this week, which is ok I guess, since my life is pretty inactive

    sorry for being so silent
Audrey you are a dear person, hoping the pain you are in begins to subside or be controlled better

    good wishes to all xx

    KT,
Lost another pound that’s really great, it’s a long slow process but remember all this weight didn’t go on over night. When I get going I am a pound a week girl but the weeks pass quickly and so do the pounds as they fall off. You should be really proud of yourself.

Mh takes over your life but think of the positives and the nice times. I don’t think it’s the diet making you tired it’s where you are with yourself at the moment. Try and come back and take control of your life, you are in control of your FD’s the pounds are falling off …prove it …which is a lovely start, remember you can’t change the past but you are in control of your future. Make it good.

I remember when my Mum died I was in a dark hole for 2 years, at one time l started loosing a pound every day ( I wish now) but it got quite frightening at the time it got to over 3 stone off and I had no control at stopping it. I just woke up one morning and knew I had to take control of my life again and I started to improve and started to eat and live again.

I hope my thoughts help…most of us have been in these dark places at times and understand how hard it is to get out but it will happen and you will feel much better.

One day at a time…keep in touch

    Morning all

I am home, got discharged late last night, no change in the back still in spasm, got tranquilisers which seem to keep it at bay but make me sleepy and lethargic.

I have put 5 lbs on whilst I have been bed ridden…… Ian has taken this week off to look after me as I am in quite a lot of pain…, will be in touch again later in week, thanks for all your kind comments.

    Audrey

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

Very cloudy this morning but also very warm.

Aud ..Sorry to hear you are still in pain. Of course you will be so very tired with all the pain killers catch twenty two.

I am not at all knowledgeable about back pain .. is it a case then of just rest and medication with a spasm… was so hoping they would be able to sort you out to be pain free..
My thoughts and prayers are with you Aud. Xx

Hi KT glad you are doing so well losing another lb that is brilliant. Like Sym I don’t think its the diet making you so very tired.

I remember going through the same kind of feelings. Just literally having to drag my self around not knowing how I would keep going. Just so very tired mentally and physically.

The awful feeling was it felt like I was on my own completely .. of course I wasn’t but at the time it felt like life was going on without me… I was alone in that space and no one could reach me. Like you though.. I managed to keep going and got back on track.

Try to keep looking in … only post if you feel like it . We will know you .
are with us… and us with you. Take care KT… you are part of us now. Xx

Hope everyone else is Ok … a busy day here collecting Mum for lunch and Mr Pips must be walked… Hopefully Kristy will do that . Lol

5-2 not being into practise much this week-end… But Hey Brit lovelies…

    Tomorrow is another day. Xx

    Hi everyone.
Just love this forum. There’s comfort, support, strategies, celebration and laughs. Well done all for making it what it is!

    Any how, have a question..

Has anyone experienced back to back fasting? Is 2 days straight. How did you find it?

I’m on my second straight zero cal fast. I would be very interested in hearing others experiences.

    Victoria xxx

Audrey…..nice to have you back with us. Just rest up for now and look after yourself. Keeping the tablets going to take the edge of the pain. Pop in when you can and feel like bothering. The 5 lb will come off easy when you are feeling better…lots of TLC. Xx

Victoria……..maybe try and see how you go, for me b to b on 500 calories was hard and didn’t show any difference, we also have done 3 FDs Monday, Wednesday and Friday and for the hard work didn’t do any difference from two days. We haven’t tried Zero days. Everybody is different and I suppose we wanted the easy slower option….give a it go a few times it may move things quicker for you. It’s just playing around to suit.

    Hi Coffee

What an awful time you have had. I’ve had this happen and the shock is awful when it eventually sinks in. I really feel for you.

Yes what you say is so true and it often stress that makes us turn to food. You are doing well if you don’t.

    Hi Plainy

Yes I do love that chicken and chorizo bake, it is also so easy to prepare. Another of their one pot wonders.

    Hi Jean

Yes life is about letting our hair down at times. If we can’t enjoy a few treats now and again then we will get fed up with this way of life. But that is the beauty of it we can do this and enjoy ourselves.

    Hi KT

Yes this energy doesn’t seem to come immediately. Hopefully things are improving and if you are reading the thread and occasionally commenting this will help you. A pound is a good loss I’d you lose a pound a week I three months you will lose nearly a stone in a year in a year you will lose about four stone. Even if you only lose about half of this which is 1/2 a pound a week that is still 2 stone in a year.

Keep strong. Things will improve after you have a climbed a hill the way down will be much easier. (Here I am sounding like Hemmy) πŸ™‚

    Hi again Jean

Yes good advice, I had someone die suddenly in unexpected circumstances, I still haven’t come to terms with it but I went through a period of not being able to eat. I then started eating like a stressed person does and that is when I called a halt to it. I decided end that the best thing to do was take control. The only area I could control is my weight. I was made redundant a few weeks before this happened so this didn’t help.

Things got better mainly through being on this forum and putting my concentration into other things.

    Hi Audrey

How lovely to see you back. So sorry it is still there at the moment but home is a good place to be. I know how frustrating it can be to put weigh on when you have tried so hard to get it off. Stay strong and if you can just try to maintain and get better. I hope this improves soon. Xx

    Hi Hemmy

Yes I know how hard it is to feel that things are going to get better and to be in that unreachable place.

Enjoy your day with Kirsty and worry about 5:2 when she goes back to work. I used to live in London and often came home to my Dad and Pam at the weekends. Send her my love xx

    Hi Victoria

I did it once, by mistake really…..I had a really busy day and then thought I had better eat something as I hadn’t had anything all day. So I made sure it was under 400 calories (the other I have in milk for 6 cups of tea) and turned it into a fast day. I have never planned to do it though.

I hope your fast day goes well I have never had a day without tea and a little something. My tea keeps me going. We are all big tea drinkers and although once in a blue moon I have had a fruit tea I would rather have normal builders tea.

Are you still reading the thread?

    Ginette

Hi everyone hope you having a good weekend? Well I’ve made it to the final day of my first week been pretty good I think only fell off the wagon on Thursday, been pretty much how I planned , did have some popcorn at the cinema last night but it was within my TDEE so hopefully ok, got my 10,000 steps in today which I’m pleased with as well.

I will weigh in the morning and let you know how it goes have a clear run now up till march 5th where I should not be too tempted, so hopefully can make some headway.

Enjoy the last offerings of the weekend everyone, and all those fasting like me tomorrow enjoy the food whilst you can.

Hi all, I am starting the 5:2 diet tomorrow. Any hints and tips would be great…Thanks.x

    Hi Lynnie,

Welcome to our little corner. Weigh, measure yourself and plan what you are going to eat. A bit hard the first couple of weeks but it does get easier, your tummy shrinks and you start having smaller portions, then the weight start moving …good luck.

Lots of us do a Monday FD. Lots of encouragement on here and we are a happy band. Keep in touch we have our ups and downs but we will all get there in the end.

    Jean x

Thanks for the welcome Jean. I look forward to becoming part of the group. xx
