  • Hello fellow Brits,

I hope those of you fasting today did better than I did. I blew it today even though it was a NFD. I was planning on at least eating healthy. All that bl…y “Candy” at work. I ate too many pieces. How come once you start it is too hard to stop? Looking forward to a good dinner of pork chops and vegetables. I am not on call, so I just had a glass of champagne.
My fast is on for tomorrow!!!

Ginette – Nice to hear from you. I agree, new knickers won’t break the bank. I love 30 min work outs. You can do anything for 30 mins. I can now do more intensity by building up my muscles at the gym. Good to have you back.

    Take care all.

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours. x

    Wow Ginette.
It was lovely to see you post this morning a nice start to the day.

You sound like you are on a roll. Lots being achieved and joining the gym, Your trainer will be so pleased with you. You will soon get moving again. I suppose we can only lose so much at a time as we didn’t put it on in weeks. I always think of mine as “Deep seated fat”. Lol You have done brilliantly already. Take care Xx

    Hi everyone.

Nothing wonderful to report on my weigh in still 11st 1 lb just the stone lost. Was hoping to see that neat eleven this morning not to be.

Never mind .. no excuses but finger off the ball a bit this last 2 weeks as Kristy starting work in London is very tiring for me. A long day as again she is in the music industry so late nights. I cant creep of to bed early after a fast.
Last night on my FD day I was up at midnight making marmite on toast and hot milk. ( I didn’t have any) I know its silly but cant sleep till she gets back off that train late at night. 35 but shes still my only baby.

Hope everyone else did well … Bev think you weigh today. Xx

Brit lovelies We are all going the same road at different paces.

You don’t have to be great to start but you do have to start to be great. Xx

    Morning all,

Slg don’t panic, I think Halloween has caught quite a few of us out. ….just try again. Someone once told me sugar is addictive so I think of it like that and try to avoid. However I did also succumb to quite a lot over the weekend!

Hemmy wasn’t it good to see ginette back, however briefly, I love the days quote….

Keep in touch fellow brits, I am halfway through my b2b fast nearly there……

    Audrey

    Hi all

Good to see Ginette. On the up and joined a gym. Great!

Hemmy, know what you mean about being worried about Kristy. I am the same although daughter lives in London in the week. There is a sex attacker in her vicinity! Sounds like you are holding steady there. Meanwhile despite having been so good have lost only 1/2 a pound. I think. I am confused as to where I was last Tuesday and weigh in for end of month Saturday. Anyway am bang on 12 st 10 lbs. Truly wonderful. 9 whole pounds gone!

Audrey well done you getting back on the wagon. You are a mainstay here.

Milena, want to thank you for your uplifting post. To be honest I was depressed over the weekend. It gave me a lift just at the right time.

Everyone else thinking of you all.

    Bev x

    Hi All

Hi Hemmy, Sig, Bev and Audrey

Thanks for the welcome back xx

just a quickie as I’m off to the gym. I certainly think that sugar of any kind is addictive, hence the addiction to carbs.

I have always eaten cakes and chocolate but nowadays more in moderation. I use stevia as a sweetener where I can.

I just hope i really like going to the gym in a couple of weeks time, I need this to tone up so like it or not I’m off soon.

They do sell Werthers sugar free in Sainsburys but don’t eat too many. Also try sugar free Jelly and good old rhubarb with stevia and a little yoghurt as a topping.

    See you all soon.

    Ginette

Ginette, sweet cicily herb in rhubarb does away with need for sugar.

Hi my Dear Brit friends. x

Yes, Audrey lovely to see Ginette back where she belongs.

Glad you are sounding much better today. It must have been nice being looked after by your Ian though. Xx

Bev… see they have arrested a guy in London… hope its going to be safer now for our girls.
Hey congrats on the half a pound not too be sniffed at.. an 8 ounce weight is quite heavy. I have old scales and weights. Yay Yay.

Ginette you sound sooo focused. I think you will like the gym as you are concentrating on toning the skin. Just do your own pace… what is good for you.
The lovely Billy pushed Kristy too much last week and she had to explain she had already done a days work .. okay for him. lol

I must admit I am here for the duration .. Lolol so feel no hurry. Weight watchers gave me a 10st 6lb highest weight which I did… Andrew thought it a good weight for me at 5ft 4ins. Unfortunately I never stayed there. It was too much hassle counting Cals. Love this way of life its for me… at my pace. So glad your around G. Xx

Celtic …where do you get that herb. I am well into them but have never seen sweet cicily herb. hope you and Stu are ok . Xx

All our gang… hope it is a good day for you. Xx

    Hi All

    Lovely to read your posts!

Unsurprisingly no weight loss ( no gain either) after my steak and chips weekend despite the well behaved 5th fast yesterday. Hopefully Thursday will bring a downward change.

Tried a bit of HIT this morning when out with the dog – she looked most surprised when I leapt into action! It felt good – so another go tomorrow!

    Best to all

    Newby

Hemmy we used to grow sweet cicily at the old house , not sure if we have any here but then its a tiny garden in comparison and new build.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicely
it might an idea to have it a pot as it finds a spot it likes it can have a tendancy to ovrr take. Stu grew it Norwich as well, havent added any sugar or honey to rhubarb for 20 years now.

I weighed in this morning and im about the same which is ok, after another month with two periods I was convinced I would have gone up alot.I will do official weigh in on Saturday. I was looking forward to periods petering out out and stopping but it looks like I’m not that lucky. Im staying away from fresh coffee unless its decaffeinated for the moment as hot flushes are back. Those who have the menopause behind them how long does all this nonsense go on for ?I think the first hot flush was about 5 years ago. Time to start using the Lady Care Magnet again I think.

    Hi all

I have finished my b2b and am now safely tucked up in bed. ..

I hope you have all had a good day.

    Milena how are you doing?

Celtic will have to look out for sweet cicily it sounds great….

    Keep in touch everybody

    Audrey

    Hi Celtic

Where do you get that? Ah I just read grow it, I live in a flat so that isn’t possible. But thanks for that I will bear it in mind. Well done on not gaining.

    Hi Hemmy

No I only do what I can, I don’t push too hard, I have even cut some things down. They were easy at first but I have burning knees afterwards so I am adapting as I go. Any exercise is better than none I think. I know this will build up but what’s the rush!!

    Hi Newby

Though of your dog, she will love HIT, probably thinks it’s a good game as well. It’s really good for you if you can do it. No gain is good in itself, it will soon go.

I can’t wait to eat tomorrow as I like Audrey have had two days of fasting, I like a day inbetween but I can’t go to a wake and not eat, I thought it was better to do it this way.

    Hi Celtic

I am one of the lucky ones who didn’t have any side effects, well none that I have noticed anyway. Sorry that must sound really annoying. Have you tried any herbal remedies, maybe someone can suggest something.

    Hi Audrey

I am sure you are also pleased that the two days are over. I didn’t make any rhubarb either!!

    Ginette

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours. x

Looks a damp misty old day here again this morning.

    Hi Celtic
Looked that herb up and it sounds a good sweetener. Not sure if I would like the aniseed flavour though.
Like Ginette Fortunately I didn’t suffer much from the menopause either.
Best keep everything natural as I am sure you are.
I have always found herbal remedies good too. Glad you are staying stable with the weight as that can be a great problem at this time. I did suffer from feeling more tired though. Take care. Xx Just thought … Evening Primrose oil Xx

    Hi Audrey

Hope you see a nice loss this morning. You will be ready for something tasty today I guess. You do keep us on our toes here. Have a good day. Xx

    Hi Ginette

The main thing for me is I do feel so much better with this WOL. Having the fast days seem to put you in control. It seems almost like a weight of the mind. Iykwim. Enjoy your day. Xx

    Hi Newbs

I can just picture your dogs face. Lol While over the fields in long twined grass .. in my big boots I often fall over and Mr Pips looks at me like I am mad. You are doing well .. you will lose again soon .. better to enjoy those meals at the time. A fast will soon put it right again.Xx

I am having a chilled out day today. So tired .. late nights .. early mornings telling . Doing a 800 cal day today a semi… I call it. Able to have breakfast toast and marmalade. Lol

Hope everyone else in the gang is ok .. look in and tell us how you are doing.

    Brit lovelies ….

Sometimes its worth lingering on the journey for a while before reaching the destination. Xx

    Morning all

Hemmy you sound so upbeat. Great! Glad they arrested that guy but my daughter is now in Turin at last after 2 delays. Just hope it works out for her.

I am another pound down this morning which amazed me but I was a bit ‘bunged up’ lol. 12st 9 lbs. Truly miracles do happen.

Ginette hope you enjoy your gym. I used to belong to a ladies only one which was really nice. Lycra was banned! Baggy t shirts were order of the day (and no mirrors) as some of the ladies were there for weight loss. Sadly it closed down a few years ago.

I am posting this quickly in case I get booted off. Will be back later to see how everyone is.

    B x

    Morning All

Hi Celtic – not sure if you have seen ‘ the natural alternative to the menopause’? I found this book really useful and there is tea bread thing made with natural stuff which which surprisingly did seem to help me with the hot flushes. Apparently very few Japanese women have hot flushes and it it thought to be due to their diet!?

Housework today- can’t get used to this early retirement thing – think I need a job!

    Have a good day all.

    Newbsx

Hemmy, the flavour of sweet cicely is very subtle, if you werevto eatnitvrawnor onits own you would pick upthe aniseed tones but in things like rhubarb its not noticeable at all. I recently had to throw out some fresh veg stock ibought and put in the freezer as it was flavoured with star anise and realused I really dont like it !Also put a ban on Stu sprinkling caraway seeds on veg on the rare occasions that he would cook before the stroke.

Years ago when i was totaly gym bunny the council run sports centre had a small women only gym room …only went in there a couple of times as it was intimidating fashion victims who were made up, lycra clad, stick insect “perfect”…very unfriendly bunch. I was much more at home in the mixed gym where tatty t shirt leggings and baseball boots were the norm. What mattered was your intent and enthusiasm. .far more real than the plastic ladies!

    Morning all

I have been on the scales and am proud to announce I have lost the 3lb input on at weekend. ….

Glad you are all doing ok. Sorry need to dash got busy day today got friend coming soon for much needed catch up …..

    Audrey

Re knickers, ive foundd ebay and amazon quite good for M&S rejects. Ive decided when the ones bought a few months ago get too big I will take the sewing machine to them , should be fairly straight forward. I got some ex M&S chino trousersfrom ebay earlier in the year they are about a 20 ish andhave got to the point now where even belted they are way too big. I just hope i can get hold of some more cos I loved the colours (one pair navy one pair khaki/olive) and the softest nicest cotton ever (not brushed, more the a super fine moleskin). Id love to know where to get a similar fabric as Id starrt making my own once i can actually get to the sewing machine. Ive got a pattern on the main pc for long sleeve granddad style t shirts and want to make a stack of thoseas they are hard to buy in the shops these days. Ho hum just the small matter of digging out/unpacking the livingroom first.

Its been really frustrating hereIm raring to go back to the gym but we cant afford it while we are still paying for a storage container for Stuarts stuff 🙁

Hi Bev that makes me laugh when people always say I am upbeat… truth is I am really tired at the moment. Funny Mum gets annoyed with me sometimes says “oh well you always see the good in everything”.lol Like its a crime.

Glad they have arrested the guy if its him.

Hope it works out for your daughter in Turin. Just wish Kristy would settle. don’t think she knows what she wants. Part of her is country lass and all that goes with it.. or London scene. Trying to do both I think lol … very tiring for us both though. Hopefully will start working a couple of days from home soon.

Well done with the loss .. you are doing fab. Keep going slow but sure. Xx

Wow Audrey 3lbs you are a star. Enjoy a lovely catch up with your friend. One of the best pleasures in life. Xx

Celtic I do envy you being able to sew. I started “babydoll pyjamas in my first year at senior school and was still making them in my 2nd. Lol Hopeless.

Those storage units are damn expensive. It almost feels like you are paying out for nothing in return . We also found a lot of our stuff was damp after.Xx

Newbs .. hang in there you will soon start to enjoy retirement. Especially in the winter months when you don’t have to brave the elements.

I try to still have some discipline to my day. Tidying and dog working mornings … 1 project ” clean the car” painting .. maintenance.. baking then reading or relaxing if possible from about 3pm. You will soon get into the swing. Lol Xx

Have a good day everyone. Xx

Hemmy I got thrown out of needlework at school and banned. In my twenties I had to learn to make curtains… it was the only way i could afford them due to the size of the windows.Once I realised that it meant I could do or make what ever I want I started to get interested in sewing. Stu is very good and has made some of his own camping gear. I tend to like really simple clothes so it means easy patterns.

    Hello all

Dear Hemmy, so sorry you are so tired. I am going to have a granny nap shortly. Just an hour. Something I have started yesterday which gave me a bit more energy for after. I get into bed, so a proper rest. Perhaps you could fit one in while Kristy is working these long hours? Billy sounds like quite a slave driver! Keep us posted on that!!

Now Celtic, I believe in make do and mend but taking in knickers never really occurred to me! I had planned to take in some things but knickers was not one of them. lol

Well done Audrey, back on track as I knew you would be.

    Newby, coming along nicely too.

I think we are all wonderful!

Smoked mackerel tonight. Don’t really fancy it so may change my mind.

    B x

    Good evening Brit friends.

Ha-ha Celtic love it. Thrown out of sewing class.. whatever did you do. The mind boggles. Lol
So very clever of Stu to make the camping gear.

I like simple clothes too… easy to wear with no fuss and bother… that’s me. Xx

Bev did you enjoy your nap. I wish I could sleep during the day that would be a great help. Will have to try.

How is the course going is it interesting. Xx

How is everyone else doing today .. Semi fast for me. Xx

    Good morning all,

Hope you are all o.k. I had another good day yesterday but am looking forward to a non fast day today.

Ian is home soon and is off for the next 4 nights so we are eating sausage casserole for tea, yummy!

I have got the central heating man round today to service it ready for winter, I had the leg burner chimney swept the other week so let it snow, I am ready now.

I am off to mums on Sunday for the week, my brother is away on holiday so will be off the grid for a while….

Keep in touch everyone together we are stronger

    Audrey

Just lost my internet connection and my post again! It is making my course almost impossible Hemmy!
Will come back later. Exasperated! Bloody talktalk…..grrr

    Beverley

Not a good start to the day…….hope it’s sorted soon

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours. x

    Hi Audrey and Bev,

Awful day again here .. sick of the rain but it is warm I guess.

Audrey .. sausage casserole sounds lovely on a yucky day. Yes, good to get stuff all serviced ready for the winter . I need to get a chimney sweep in for my log burner too. Xx

Bev.. what a damn nuisance with your connection. We are so reliant on technology now, unfortunately only brilliant when working. Xx

Off food shopping with my Mum. Have a good day everyone. Call in and share your day. Xx

    Brit lovelies…

Life is similar to a bus ride.. the journey can only start when you board the bus.Xx

We are just having second coffee, then we are off Cromer hospital so Stu can have fasting bloods to check for diabetes and cholesterol.I think I mentioned Stu hss been having some horrible side effects from the sodium valpoate having been ramped up so high. Been to GP a couple of times and its gone in one ear and out the other but on Tuesday we saw a young registrar who was brilliant.. he listened and examined and said well the patient is usually right. Wow! So this morning fasting blood tests. Just had a phone call from the big hospital we finally have an appointment to go and see the top Neurologist on 4th December. What a relief.

Yesterday I took stuart to the barbers I could definitely see that my body shape is starting to change. Feeling very PMT ish again already so early this morning have ordered some supplements from Amazon. I didnt realise untill reading this morning that Perimenopause causes depression and mood swings…certainly explains the last few months. Last night in the shower, after a really nice day of feeling ok in my body I could feel self perception starting to shift (I had just had a small piece of dundee cake), luckily I managed to stop the negative thoughts in their teacks and say its not real, just hormones and emotions. So despite hormonally and emotionally on a demented roller coaster I am feeling quite hope full and motivated for todays fast day. Onewards and downwards!

Yesterday we took the huge step of buying some salmon , cod and haddock. Stu hasn’t eaten fish for about fourty years and for me its been a once a year thingover the last 30 years. Stuarts blood pressure has been awful despite all the meds so we have decided to start eating oily fish a couple of times a week to see if that helps. We both feel ethically a bit wobbly about it but I said to Stu id rather have him well than ethically squeaky clean. Going to have a bash at making a fish pie tomorrow. Never cooked with fish before so wish me luck. Got hold of some MSC certified salmon, haddock and cod. Any suggestions on where to get MSC certified mackerel fillets ? Any recipe suggestions greatfully recieve, esp for mackerel , salmon , sardine and trout. Its going to be a tricky journey as Stu really liked white fish (and I don’t) and I really love smoked fish ( or smoked cheese or tofu or anything) and Stu doesnt.

Havent decided what we are having for FD main meal tonight but prob a ratatouille or goulash type stew type thing. Found some quorn chorizo so might us that.

    Celtic

You have a good old moan if you want to, my goodness girl you have been put through the mill lately it’s no wonder you are a bit depressed. …

When I make fish pie I poach my fish in milk then use the milk to make the cheese sauce. …it really is quite easy, loads of recipes on the net…..I do use a little smoked haddock in mine though just for the taste…..

Hope you have a great day

    Audrey

    Hi all, back in action

Celtic, good you are getting some action for Stu. I know only too well the traumas of the NHS but then they are so busy. We have fish about 3 times a week and I keep it simple, baked in foil with a dash of ev olive oil. Fish pie is lovely and I am sure you will enjoy. I take it you are veggie/vegan? We sometimes have chicken but stick to vegetarian and fish nearly all the time. Our diet revolves around cancer busting foods for Neil of course.

Hemmy hope you have a nice day with your mum.

Hi Audrey, thanks too for the sympathy re this internet. Seems the secret is to not use it at peak times.

    Newby hope you are ok?

Wonder what happened to Porky. Perhaps this was not for her?

    B x

Hemmy forgot to say thatthe sewing class thing was mainly because I had an uncanny knack of being able to induce sewing machine to comit suicide. Thankfully that tendancy has passedand we have two really nice machines, when I trwated my self to a new one a couple of years ago , Stu bought my previous one. Of course the new one has remained unused since Stu got ill, and now we finally live under the same roof we have two machines. The snag atm is not only the lounge full of boxes, but the guinea pigs cage is currently on top of my all dancing all singing wow work table. Always used to have to shut the crow in her cageif i was sewing otherwise she would get into the sewing box and unspool all my thread then pull the pkastic reels apart. Until Marley proudly started presenting them to me I didnt realise Gutterman reels are made of three components. Good job mrs Crow now lives outside in her own aviary rather than indoors. The idwa of a corvid doing the unpacing doesn’t bear thinking about.

    Hi All

6th fast day today and off into town to meet my daughter for a cup of Earl grey!

Hemmys advice to keep busy on fast days I think is going to be crucial for me. I thought I was an emotional eater but realise I am also a ”boredom’ eater – maybe I’m just an eater!

In the past 4 weeks, I have lost my 48 year old friend to breast cancer (she had daughters 11,13 and 15 yrs) and one of my work colleagues 12 year old twins lost his life in a freak accident:(

We all go through these dreadful sad times but thankfully I am not eating my way through it all as I would have done previously. I am focussing on being healthy and appreciating every moment of my life.

My brother started 5:2 at 18st last week and has already lost 6lb! I am so pleased, as carrying the extra weight was getting rather limiting for him.

Well, positive wishes to all my fasting buddies – must start the list!

    Viv

    Hi all

Newby, so sorry to hear about your friends. Very sad indeed. Good that you sound like you are coping well.

An executive decision here. Today is not a fast day. Bought a beautiful cauli so cauli cheese and smoked mackerel tonight.

My master plan is to do proper low cal days until weigh in on Tuesday by dividing down the weekly calories. Now if I fall flat on my face you can all say ‘I told you so’. We’ll see. I always was one to buck the trend.

    Wish me luck fellow Brits.

    B x

    Hi Brit Lovelies. x

What an awful wet day…Anyway, it didnt ruin Mum and I enjoying our weekly shop and visit to the bakery café. We shared a bacon and sausage bap also a jam doughnut. Nice cup of milk coffee. Not too bad really if you say it quick. lol

Decided to go back to the start with this WOL. I never really bothered much what I had on non fast days… wine … chocolate …Big Macs … but kept religiously to 500 cals 2 days a week.
Funny but since I have been being very careful on non fast days cut right down on wine .. chocolate out ..Big macs out they don’t really seem that much different to fast days as they did in the beginning.

I am not finding the loss I had at the start. I realise that losing the stone will make a difference in what I will lose… but even so.

Anyway … going to go back to the beginning. Any ideas. Xx

Celtic .. I make fish pie the same as Audrey Also agree with the smoked haddock for flavour.. Sometimes just do a white sauce with chopped parsley.. also you can add some peas.. Grated cheese on top of the potato. I think the fish is a good way for you to go. Hope you and stu enjoy it.

Wow good news you found that lovely young registrar. Lets hope this gets things moving for Stu now. What a relief it must be to get some attention at last . So thrilled for you both. Xx

Lol Bev you do make me chuckle I love you. Lol Well, don’t forget ” He who dares wins.” You wont fall flat on your face and if you do … we will all be here to pick you up. Xx

Newbs .. Oh my dear what can I say. Its so bloody hard to cope with these crappy things life seems to be fond of throwing our way … all in one big pile. So good if you can just focus on the immediate attention things … one day at a time. Easy on yourself. Keeping the eating in control is a big bonus at this time. Also it will make you feel better in yourself. Take care .. we are all here for you. Xx

Yay yay the rest of the Brit gang make it a good day. Xx

Oh Newbs, sorry you are having such a tough time.So sad to hear of children losing their parent so young. Got through another FD. We ended up with mixed spice porridge and diced apple for tea as Stu hadnt done the washing up from day before. The kitchen at the new place is tiny so any amount of washing up always loks huge. Luckily raining here most of the evening so only fireworks until about 6 pm.

Bev we are both veggie, fourty years for Stu and Thirty for me. I was vegan for a while but it got to be too much hassel when i was living in a shared house. We are so lucky to have the NHS, it can just get frustrating sometimes when the system is under so much pressure that its reverted to crisis management only. It is the only one we have and we need to lookafter it.

    Bev

How sad that your nice gym closed, this is in a community centre so I think will carry on, it has been there a few years and is used by different groups, I believe there are sight impaired people who go in a group and other small groups. Ideal for this.

    Audrey

Sausage casserole sounds nice, well done on your loss and enjoy your Mums.

    Hi Celtic

Nice that you can see a change, it takes a while to notice. For others to notice it sometimes takes even longer! Great that you have finally found someone who listens and now have an appointment with Neurologist. This is what I liked about my last doctor, I now have a new one who I haven’t met yet, my doctor told me that the new doctor listens as well, I shall soon find out.

    Newby

What an awful time, these things do seem to come together. I hope you manage to work through this, it is a reminder of how precious life is, how we should tell our friends how much we appreciate them and never take things for granted.

Men seem to lose weight much more quickly than women so this will challenge you to keep on the right track as well. Nothing like a challenge. Good luck to him.

    Hi Bev

Hopefully no one would dream of saying I told you so, try whatever method on NFDs that will help keep life interesting and you need to, we all have our different methods as long as we keep going down things are good.

    Hemmy

Things do tend to slow down a little as time goes on but as long as you are going own this is ok. Change what you eat from time to time to see if that helps, we all seem to get stuck in ruts sometimes with food choices. Fish pie sounds lovely, I also fancy some home made fish cakes. It is nice when you know exactly what is in them.

Well I have eaten rubbish for two days, fast day tomorrow so time to get back to healthy eating. I had a very unexpected gift from a friend yesterday, it is strange how the kindness of others comes when it is least expected. I have know her since I was 15 and also knew her Mum well before she died, I called in to see her mother in law on a Sunday and was a keyhokder for emergencies as I lived closer that her. The gift was a thank you for all the help which she felt I had given, totally unexpected and not really needed as I was happy to help.

    Anybody else fasting?

    Ginette

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.x

Looks to be another mucky wet dog walk day … loads of wet towels and all. Lol Still it is very warm and we can get about and saving on the heating is brilliant.

Wow Celtic lots of changes going on with you and Stu.

I must say that porridge sounded wonderful very tasty. Haven’t had porridge for ages..nice and filling. I remember years ago a friend lost loads of weight on it. She had a bowl in the morning and at night plus loads of fruit.

With having joint stuff to unpack and sort it must be kind of overwhelming with all the heath worries too.
When we renovated property and moved around … places were often a real mess especially if builders were in. I adopted a habit from my American friend.. of taking a room and spending 30 minutes .. setting an alarm .. and just working on a Box or cupboard, draw or corner of a room. It is soo amazing how much can be done in one area alone in that time.

I still do it now. Xx

    Hi Ginette

They say what goes around .. comes around and I bet you well deserved that unexpected gift. Enjoy it I am a great believer in The Universe Provides” although sometimes in damn strange ways. Lol

Fasting with you today … back to my original eggs and toast lol easy..filling and easy to count.

Have a good day Ginette. Xx

Come on Brit lovelies lets hear how you are all doing … in this together.

Today.. the story of our life starts a new page … SOOOO.. Lets all make it a good one. Xx

    Good morning Brit buddies

Good luck Ginette and Hemmy and any others of you who are fasting.

FD for me yesterday and managed to have just the one meal at tea time and also, to watch my daughter eat a great big buttered croissant without any food envy. For me, the feeling of control that a fast day brings is great. So far I am managing to resist temptation – I think that is because I can see this way of life is really going to work for me.

I have lost another lb today so if I can continue at 1lb a week, I will lose my stone by Christmas. Yeah! Just two and a half to go after that!

Hemmy, the 30 minute thing is a great idea. Going to do three rooms before going out to lunch with a friend.

Something a friend said to me recently was ‘ if you deny your feelings, they will own you, but if you own your feelings, you can then decide what you want to do about them!’ Bit deep, but food for thought!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Xx

Hemmy thanks for the 30 minute tip I think we will give that ago. I think its off to Sheringham to pick up yhe live meal worms for Madame Crow then a soggy dog walk on the prom. I will be really glad when fireworks are over. The current dogs are just frightened of fireworks, the previous Border Terrier Teasel her epilehpsy was triggered by fireworks.

Good morning all hope all is well with you and yours. X

Awful weather again. Woken this morning by 2 tiles falling from the roof ..split the guttering. So hassle with Insurance now I expect. So much for a well needed lay in.

Hope everyone is doing well .. keep in touch .. have a lovely week-end.

Brit lovelies .. Its not what we eat its the amount. Xx

Hi all, or nobody at this rate!
I am doing so well with food it is mind blowing! Thursday became an automatic FD. Didn’t even have to think about it. No over stuffing since. Wow! Am I cured?

Hemmy, what’s happening? And Celtic and Newby and Audrey and all.

Neil had bad chest pains Friday in the night. I get in a bit of a panic but soluble aspirin and he was ok. My kids are driving me crazy at the moment, so much going on.

Long to hear from you all. Hugs x

    Hi Beverley,

I am at mums, so am not posting as much this week, sorry.

It has not started out very well, my phone has broken and I am struggling to get hold of tesco mobile to sort it out…..

Hope Neil is better today, have to go now to try yet again to contact customer service, if I hear not registered on network one more time I am going to scream!

Will be in touch later in week, got hospital appointment for mum next 2 days. …

    Audrey

    Hi All,

Audrey – hang in there. I hope the week gets better for you. Mobiles seem to be essential these days.
Beverley – I hope Neil is feeling better today.
Hemmy – I got a walk in and ran errands before the rain came.

Last week I never really recovered from the sugar rush of Halloween. It was also our time change for DST. As a result of hormones, sugar and carb overload, lack of sleep and listlessness, I gained 1.5 lbs. I exercised less than usual, had 2 failed attempt at fast days and woke up between 2 & 4 am everyday and did not get back to sleep. Maybe I should have a joined the Christmas challenge!

Well, that was last week. Tues and either Wed or Friday FD this week. I am going back to lower carb foods mostly from fruits, veg and small portions of beans. I made a pot of chili (I add loads of vegetables) for dinner. I am starting now and not waiting for tomorrow, but first I am going to have an afternoon kip.

    Happy Fast days fellow Brits.
    Keep in touch this week.

Hi Brit busters, hope your weekend has been good.

Hemmy – hope you are watertight again! ( sorry, that sounds a bit personal!)

Hope you get you get your phone fixed Audrey – modern technology can be exasperating:?

Bev – well done with the food – I have found that my appetite on NF days has decreased and I have totally gone off bread as it makes me feel yuk!

Spent the evening looking for my Pilates DVD and yeah – found it! Decided to do Pilates on FD mornings as a distraction.

    Xx

Fast day no 7 tomorrow and still pretty motivated . Re watched Michael Mosley horizon programme to keep me envisioned! It worked!

    Morning all,

My phone saga goes on and on, after speaking to 3 customer service agents they told me to take it into phone shop to try another sym, they did ask me if I had a spare sym, this was after I told them I was at my mums house on holiday, and were amazed when I said I hadn’t packed one!…….

The phone shop is miles away so we are going to the hospital via burnley town centre now so I can pop in to see if a new sym works! I did point out I have insurance. ……

Hope you are all o.k. my week is now out for lunch today, out for lunch tomorrow so will try to fast on Wednesday. ….

Will be in touch tomorrow and hopefully have a phone by then too. …..it’s typical when I need it the most it packs in…….

    Have a great week,

    Audrey

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours. X

    Hi Bev
Hope things have improved for Neil over the week-end.. and he is feeling better.

    Hi Audrey

Hope all goes well at your Mums. Technology what a damn nuisance at times.

Come back soon … miss having you around. Xx

Ps .. Just seen your last post Audrey. Thats a bloody nuisance. As you say just when you need that Phone most. Hope you get it sorted in Town.

    Hi Sig

Yes, its a scramble to get walked between these awful shower ..downpours. Prefer crisp dry days.
Cutting back on sugar seems to be the way to go .. I am not yearning sweet treats as much or wine. Have a good week. Xx

    Hi Newbs

Hopefully think we are dry … times like this a man would come in handy. Lol
    Insurance in touch today.

Glad you are motivated. The DVD will be good too. I am now not sweating this way of life. Just rolling along doing what I can day to day . Will stick with this forever I reckon. It so makes sense… and fits in well . Also lovely not having to talk dieting to family and friends.

It works… nice and easy no panic does it. Xx

Hope everyone else is okay. Ginette.. Milena.. Karen …Celtic…also hope Priscilla and Porky Yorky are still okay. Anyone else I have forgotton.Xx

FD for me … hoping for that pound to see me at 11st tomoz. Yay

    Remember Brit Lovelies …

You cant spell challenge without change. Xx

    Hemmy,

I am not turning email notifications off, so if anybody needs me shout out and when I am back will respond….

Obviously I have no phone so while out got no Internet. ….

I hope you get insurance sorted out quickly and are still dry..

I haven’t abandoned any of you, just need to cut back on posting while at mums…..

    Audrey
