  • Morning all,

    Yeah welcome home ginette!

I survived my liquid only day, will be doing another next week it will probably be on Wednesday. For those of you who don’t know my hubby works 4 on 4 off nights so I do more of a 6 2 or 5 3 pattern to fit in with his work. His 2nd night off will be next wed so will be fasting then! All are welcome to join me if it fits in with you, just let me know.

I have had a quick sneak at scales and they haven’t moved much! I am thinking of another fast day today with a stew for tea never done a B2B so wish me luck. I may be on later for support if I get hungry…..

Ginette I went on my wii yesterday I am now in China, it doesn’t get any easier with leaving it for a few weeks!

Keep in touch everyone, good luck to all my felow fasters.

    Audrey

    Hi all
Survived my first FD. What a revelation! Thanks for the hints and tips which I am still absorbing!
Think I will make FD liquid days as once I start eating I am done for hence I have never liked breakfast and am not hungry really at all too early so tend to have brunch. I have a Nutribullet and find it sooo fast. My mishap yesterday was due to a rogue chunk of home grown cucumber which was bitter as I didn’t peel it.
I really am excited by this and think you are all so lovely.
Celtic good luck today and I so hope it all goes well.
    Beverley

    Beverley

Glad you made it through your 1st fast day, I am so happy you came back, I can remember you joining us earlier in the year, you have the same name as my old school friend!

If you get stuck or struggle with anything just shout out there is usually someone about to help a fellow brit in distress!

Join me if you like on wed next week I am doing liquid only then.think hemmy may be doing it too for her 1st time so you won’t be alone. …

I too am 1 of those people who once they start eating just can’t stop…..

    Audrey

    Hi Ginette

I’ve tried cauliflower couscous – I like it. I make my own (just pulse raw cauliflower florets in a food processor until small crumbs). I usually microwave it and also add in something to flavour it. Chopped fresh mint and lemon zest is my favourite.

I like it with something spicy on top like a bit of veg curry or a tagine, but really I like spicy food so much I’d want it on top of anything….

Good morning friends hope all is well with you. x

Yipppeee Ginette is back. So lovely to see that this morning. We have sooo missed all your encouragement and inspiration. Glad SM is getting on well . I am sure your time with her helped her along. Tim eis the most very precious thing we can give anyone.

Your personal achievement is absolutely fab.. we will hopefully follow your lead to rid those fat bugs.X

Celtic Hope all goes well at the hospital today. Hopefully some news that will make life better for you both. Keep us posted.x

Such a shame I will miss the Wed Liquid F as I will be in Brighton overnight with my lovely neighbour. Only my second night away from home in 3 years.
Kristy off 2 days so will be able to enjoy the break knowing Mr Pips is well looked after. Will join the next liquid one.

Everyone sounds as if they are on the right track Fast day today for me. Anyone else.

Dental check up at 2pm .. so will eat something at 1pm just tea this morning and lemon water.

Take care all, hope you have a lovely day whatever you are doing .. Catch up later.

We can do this Brit lovelies altogether we are awesome. Xx

Ginette, thanks for the recipes, most grateful and Priscilla that cauli cous cous one sounds good.
Have made my list and am off to the supermarket. I tend to do the same dishes so it will be nice to have a change!
    Beverley

    Hi All

Nice to be back, thank you for all of your comments. I have noticed a lot of people talking about what they should and shouldn’t eat on fast days.

I have tried slimming world twice, both times I made the same mistake. I am a lover or pasta, rice, baked potatoes etc. the first time they had red and green days, I had 95% red days, the second time they had another option called extra easy, this was meant to be easy but again I found myself drawn to the original green days. I went with someone who did red days, I remember that she had 3 egg sandwiches for lunch! These were made with Danish bread and so relatively low in carbs, she had meat and veg in the evening she made curry sauce using stagg, come to think of it I have some in the cupboard as I think it must be time to get it out now!!

She lost many lbs within the first few weeks and in fact had soon got to her stone loss. I though three egg sandwiches excessive. Now we know that eggs aren’t bad for us, then the first time I did this we didn’t.

Me I lost a couple of lbs and then would gain and lose the same lb. does this sound familiar?

I know that when I started 5:2 I ate more veg and meat and I didn’t find myself wanting food, now I mix it up and when I have more carbs it starts me wondering what to have next.

Next week and maybe the end of this one where possible, I shall go back to what I did in the beginning and see if that makes the weight change faster.

Here are some links about carbs.

    http://authoritynutrition.com/how-many-carbs-per-day-to-lose-weight/

    Hi Audrey

Good luck on your fast day, are you doing one today? I am on one as well. Not liquid though. I will get back to the Wii though.

    Hi Priscilla

Thank you for that, I haven’t got a food processor, I have a real lack of space in the kitchen so I have never had one. I am with you for liking spicy food. I like farm foods spicy chicken I had this almost every fast day for about 6 months. I also like the barbecue one but dislike the Chinese one so much that I gave it away to someone who loved it. It tasted as if it was coated in liquorice. It was aniseed, now I love aniseed balls but not the flavour on chicken. They are also really good value and I can just take them out the night before and pop then in the microwave as I am cooking the vegetables.

    Hi Hemmy

No garlic for lunch then! Have a lovely time in Brighton that is only an hour away from me. I hope the weather improves, it is meant to rain today which it is but be much nicer tomorrow. It is only the south which have this band of rain though.

Are you going to anywhere nice when in Brighton?

Well done Beverly for surviving. Eat now when you feel you are hungry not out of habit. I always miss breakfast choosing instead to have a very late lunch or just maybe dinner. I love porridge but sometimes I have that in the evening as contrary to what is said it triggers my hunger.

The fast days will get easier.

Hope that many of you are having better weather than here.

    Ginette

wise words Ginette. It has been so easy to comfort eat. I am not hungry right now and have only had some cottage cheese and smoked salmon.

I am a carb freak when stressed. Another problem I have is keeping OH’s weight UP! He needs lots of calories as he is a fidget and needs to eat regularly. He is 9 stone although now 5 feet 10 in ish (he has shrunk to 5 feet 8 due to his spine). I make him the highest cal meals I can without too much fat. Not easy!! Of course I tuck in too. I can make a creamy pasta based dish enough for a family of 4 and he will eat 3/4 of it. Incredible. I have been nursing him through cancer for the last 3 1/2 years. He is doing so well and I am a physical wreck!!

Well here I am. Picking up the pieces (happily)and ready to get back to normal.
we have an oncologist appointment Friday morning following bloods and scan last month. Fingers crossed.
Audrey, you are so brave doing a b2b! Hang on in there. I may join you in the future.

Size 12 again (in my dreams) Beverley x

ps Ginette, it is chucking it down here and we are about a mile from Brighton.

Well its nearly tea time and I haven’t had any food yet.

I am not too bad yet drinking lots of water the hunger seems to be coming in waves.

The question is now to eat or not to eat? I am hungry but worried that if I start eating I won’t be able to stop!

    Anybody got any advice?

    Audrey

    Hi all

Go for a walk Audrey! Do something physical to take your mind off hunger. When you come back have a lovely hot drink (calorie free) and it will be almost dinner time. You can work through it!! Just imagine those tummy grumbles using up unwanted body fat 🙂

Beverley..well done on completing your FD! You need to take care of yourself while taking care of OH so nourish your body with good food choices.

Ginette..good to hear SM improving and great to have your regular contributions again 🙂

Celtic..thinking of you and Stu today xx

Hemmy..hope dentist appt went well. Brighton breakette sounds fab 🙂

Priscilla..hope all going well for you this week.

We now have wonderful sun after torrential rain this am and thunder at lunch!

FD for me today. Have swopped from usual Thurs as out to dinner tomorrow eve (a Quidsin deal)

Have a good day all 🙂

    Karen
    Xx

Hi all I have had my stew and some fruit plus a lovely hot chocolate drink. i am feeling very full! It came in at just under 500 kcals!

Thanks for you help and support

Hope everyone has had a good day.

    Audrey

Last post is spam my security won’t let me open the link says it’s dangerous. ..I have reported it…

Hi Brit friends hope all is well with you. x

Lots of lovely posts all very helpful indeed. ( so glad Gs back with her links.) lol Thank you. x

Audrey glad you managed to hold out for the evening meal. It is a lot you have achieved in the last 2 days. Not sure I have the will power for 2 on the trot as knowing I can eat my fancy the next day keeps me on track. Well done you.x

Well today has gone well. Not an exciting menu I must confess but it has satisfied me and I feel happy this evening.lol

This morning existed on water with chunks of lemon and cups of tea.
First food at 1pm .. 1 slice of seeded toast and 1oz of cheddar cheese 1 peach.

    Lots of water.

5pm Cup of tea and nectarine.

7pm 2 egg omelette with red pepper and onion.

Think there will be just leeway for a cup of Aldi chocolate sachet 40 cals at 10pm.

Yay another 500 day bites the dust, Been peeing for England so hopefully all good.

    Whos fasting today ?. .. I think Ginette .. Karen … Milena.
    Anyone else.

Hope everyone else is doing okay and looking forward to hearing about your day.

Together… we Brit lovelies are Fab -u- lous. Xx

We have a small respite from the rain at the moment.

I hope the rain didn’t spoil your day Beverley.

I have just had a lovely meal of 3 heck sausages cooked with tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and herbs and 2 eggs.

I have enough for a Belgian chocolate popcorn flavour hot chocolate later.

Glad everybody’s fast day is going well.

    Ginette

Good morning friends hope all is well with you. x

Looks to be a pretty day so far..blue sky already. Hopefully a good day for shopping.

I am going to be very mindful today with my choices of food. Usually after a FD they can be a bit erratic.

At least for the moment fish n chips seems to be off the menu as too greasy now. Isn’t that strange how that happens… I have read on the other threads how peoples tastes change on this way of life.

Have a good day all whatever you are doing.

We are Brits and together lovelies we can do this. Xx

    Good morning all
Well 2 days in and feeling so upbeat! Sleeping like a log and another fast day today. Amazingly do not feel hungry but then did eat a massive amount of salad yesterday.
Ginette, don’t mind the rain but my beloved had taken the gutter down to change it on the front porch/loo and it got flooded! LOL A small blip in the great scheme of things.
You and Hemmy are doing so well and Audrey too. What an inspiration!
I am all fired up for today. May start Zumba again on Monday to burn some cals.
    Hugs to all.
    Beverley

    Morning fellow brits,

I am awake and glad to say I survived my first B2B!

I have been on the scales and have only lost 1 lb but as I had a VERY BAD weekend food wise with Ian, I am not surprised.I weigh in officially tomorrow but couldn’t wait hehe!

I am not particularly hungry today so will have soup for lunch and perhaps stew for tea?

Hemmy watch what you eat today you don’t want to do like me and undo your good work!

Beverley enjoy your fast and let us know if you struggle. when are you weighing in?

Keep on losing keep in touch, together we are stronger

Good luck to everyone fasting today

    Audrey

    Morning all,

FD here. I’m still in bed, watching TV and drinking Twinings lemon and ginger tea. It’s what I usually drink on FD’s. I’m terrible for forgetting my cups of tea and this one tastes good even if it goes cold.

I think I’m going to put my summer clothes away today 🙁 I don’t have enough wardrobe space to keep them out and need to put them in vacuum bags.

Husband is away for a few days so I’m missing my FD buddy. The cat is missing him more than me – she adores him and barely tolerates me!

Glad you are feeling so good Beverley – sounds like you are off to a flying start.

Just a quickie before heading out. x

Beverley you sound so bright and positive.. your post made me feel like dancing. Lol Keep up the good vibes. x

Audrey you are a wonder woman … with your btb days and liquids plus all that cleaning ,, size 8 here we come I reckon. x

Priscilla Good luck with your FD. That lemon tea sounds good.. maybe a change from water. Had a builder once who drank it as it was still good cold. Have a good day. x

Take care all.x Together lovelies we are dynamite. x

    Morning Hemmy

I have taken to sharing fish and chips when we have them with my SM. I get her a pensioners portion and it works out really well as you can choose what size you want the fish but you don’t pay for the chips. This means that they only put a scoop full of chips in, this is plenty for two.

We may have them once every few weeks, before I would eat what I could one night and warm the chips up to have in a sandwich the next day, what bad habits!! I just hat waste…..

It has clouded over here and it seems as if summer has almost gone 🙁

Hi Beverley, I am glad you are sleeping well, sorry to hear about the porch though, driving rain is the worst for getting into buildings. Yes get into exercise while the urge is there.

Well done Audrey, a pound is good and maybe the start of more to come. Last week midweek I had lost three but on Saturday when I weigh there it was back again, so not counted!! Our weight fluctuates every week by a few pounds up and down, it is interesting to see but annoying that it doesn’t show up on weigh day!! The popcorn hot chocolate was a bit sweet. I have a few more to go yet as they were half priced. I usually go for mint or some of the other flavours. I bought it in Tesco if anybody is interested. I only shop there once in a while.

    Hi Priscilla

Yes I forget mine as well, I just pop it in the microwave and it tastes just the same. I don’t like waste. My son told me once when I had to throw some chicken away that that bird had given up its life for nothing!! I have never done it again, so true. It’s like use by dates, they always give a few days leeway but people will throw things away. If a tomato has gone by its best before date you can tell if it is still good just by looking. I am wary over meat products though. Youghurts can go way over and still be good.

Sorry your fast day buddy is away, maybe you can try some recipes out while he is away, this is low calorie ones of course.

Anyone having fast day? I was hoping to go low carbs for a while, I ordered my shopping two weeks ago and there is no chance of this. I obviously ordered it on a hungry day.

Have a good day all, I have a friend coming later I haven’t seen for a couple of months so will be catching up with news before going to see Pam (SM).

    Ginette

Fast day for us. Going to trying liquid only until the quorn courgette mushroom and what ever else is in the fridge stew at tea time. Yesterday at the hospital was mixed…CT scan revealed no changes, which is good. Consultant isnt sure whats going on as cant MRI as Stu has loads of metal artifacts in his brain. Waiting for doppler ultrasound on carotid (apparently last years does show some furring). Also waiting to see the epilepsy neuro consultant. Because theres so much damage to Stuarts right hemisphere theres no point in doing an EEG. I think we were both hoping for something a bit more proactive. But at least they bought the appointment forward a month.

    Hi Ginette

Yes, sharing is a good idea … will suggest that to Kristy as she usually fetches them. Mine you not sure what she would think to it because she does love her food. lol At 5ft 8ins she can get away with being a 14 and looking a 12 with her long legs. lol
Like you I absolutely hate waste. Some times I say maybe that veg etc is on its last legs .. she will just throw and say its run away.lol

I have just bought the sesame seed crispbreads from Aldi you had mentioned. 32 cals and they look quite chunky .. 69p will try them tonight.
As I like simple quick food on my FD days thought I could have 3 plus 1oz cheese .. pickled onions for lunch and that wouldn’t be too bad. Found the best pickles after homemade are Garner from Sainsbury’s.. real old fashioned taste.Xx

Felt good today made an extra effort with myself feeling excited. Mum said I looked very slim lolol Mothers…. bless her and had a nice compliment from the young waitress about some long earrings I dug out that were yonks old.

Celtic. Sorry you didn’t get all the answers you both wanted yesterday but at least things are going on by the sound of it, hopefully they will be able to get all results in and work to the good for Stu. Trouble is with hospital there always seems to be endless waiting from different departments to tie things up together.

Hope your FD is going well and you enjoy your stew. Xx

Enjoy your evening Brit lovelies … Together we stand and we are not going to fall. Xx

    Hi Celtic

Glad the CT scan was good, it is such a long wait fir hospital appointments, at least they have brought it forward.

    Hi Hemmy

Shared curry tonight with Pam, my friend had to delay until next week so I thought I’d have a quick catch up.

To be honest I think I prefer ryvita, but a change is as good as a rest. I shall probably trawl through all the brands, I do like the crunch of a crisp bread though.

    Off to order curry now.

Have a good evening all, I will check in later.

    Ginette

    Hi Hemmy

snacking on a quarter of a ‘foodie market’ spelt and muesli crispbreads from aldi, so tasty, but very hard, certainly a trial for teeth.

    Hi Celtic

    hope things go well.

Hubby was at the hospital today – none of us anywhere near the doctor for years and all of us at hospital lately. Went to see plastic surgeon re lump on his head, now waiting for op, son is back in on Monday – I think for a full cast – hubby at the docs for a steriod injection in a couple of weeks, and I’m making an appointment tomorrow as my urine is amiss and the coccyx I broke giving birth 20 years ago has suddenly become incredibly painful and lumpy. Never rains eh? But all fairly insignificant.

Spoke to college re Robert hurting his hand in a lesson (playing footie but it was a sports and fitness course) and suddenly everyone is quite rude and nasty. And there was me wanting suggestions of courses he might do while he is healing. Almost makes you want to call an accident claim lawyer!!!

Today’s fast is going downhill – one latte and one bowl of soup – so far, so good – but then hubby brought a cup of tea and a digestive – and he went out and left them next to me!!! Only ate three (only?) but I’m over my calories AGAIN. Put them away and decided to eat a bit of crispbread – now drinking pints of water to put the monster back to sleep.

My goodness all this hospital stuff.

CelticCrow hope husband is sorted out soon, glad ct scan was ok, and you have not got long to wait for appointment.

Milena, good grief what’s happened at your house, all this sickness you must be fed up of it by now. I hope everyone is better soon! Sorry to hear your fast day has gone badly but at least you are still under your tdee. Sometimes I think the world conspires against us all. Keep on drinking the water it will soon be time for bed! There is always tomorrow to fast again!

Beverley, how is your fast day going?

Hemmy, still cheerleading what an upbeat person you are always positive! Glad your mum noticed your weight loss x

    Ginette enjoy your curry,

    Keep in touch

    Audrey

Talking of hospitals. Tomorrow is a big day for us. Neil has the oncologist in the morning and we will find out if he is still in remission. We had to wait 8 weeks from the blood test and scan for this appointment to find out, Nail biting stuff. I don’t know how I would cope if it has spread. He has 2 big ops, chemotherapy and radiotherapy over 3 1/2 years. I ended up with pneumonia through exhaustion looking after him 24/7.

FD going ok as have a nasty little cold and Neil also, but have made him spaghetti bolognaise, licked the spoon, and for a minute thought why not. LOL
I resisted!! Tomorrow is another day!!!

Hugs to all and have a good evening.
    Beverley x

Hope its good news tomorrow Beverly. Got through Fd today with liads of water, tea a stick of celery and some quorn, mushroom courgette celery carrot , fresh tomato and butterbean stew. Enough to put in the freezer for four more portions. Take care all.

    Hi Beverley

fingers crossed, certainly puts my little trifles into perspective. I do hope its good news.

Hi Audrey, aye, I think I’m coming in at about 750 cals, and I’ll try again tomorrow. Comes to something when 750 cals is seen as a lot, can’t believe it really, just goes to show how little we need when we cut out junk. I’m going to have a go at soup every week, its a life saver, I’ve been buying shop pea and ham, veg, etc, in the plastic tubs, but they are nearly always quite high in calories for the amount of food. And of course the ubiquitous Heinz tomato soup – though it now tastes awful, far too sweet. We now have half a free range chicken going spare each week, now that there are no cats to feed, makes cracking stock!

Well done Celtic. Hope it shows in the inches! and well done Beverley for resisting.

Am I correct that we all have equivalent to a small but well nourished child to shed, think mine was halfway through senior school!

For me – tomorrow is another day!!!

    Beverley,
Hope it’s good news tomorrow let us know pls.

Milena I have found the drawback to B2B I can’t stop eating today, have eaten lots and lots and now feel quite ill, oh where did my good intentions of this morning go! Ah well tomorrow is another day!

CelticCrow sounds like you have had a good day today well done.

I am off to the van tomorrow afternoon, let’s hope it’s sunny in Wales!

    Audrey

Good evening friends. Hope all is well with you and yours.Xx

Oh my Goodness what a lot of worry you lovely people are having to cope with.

Celtic, Beverley and Milena sending healing thoughts to you and yours. Xx

Ginette hope you enjoyed that curry a nice treat after a fast day.Xx

Audrey have a lovely time at your caravan. .. I was thinking today, we are all doing so brilliantly maybe it would be good to give ourselves a little rest once in a while. Xx

Karen hope you had a lovely meal with your friend today. Xx

Priscilla Hope you and your cat are not missing hubby too much Xx

Leeanna How are things going with you. Xx

On a different subject did anyone see Doctor Foster last night.. what a fab new series.

Think it going to be a 750 cal day tomorrow half my allowance. ( A Semi ) just to shake it up a bit … next fast Monday.

Good night Brit lovelies… when times get tough… together we will get going. Xx

    Hi All

As Hemmy says so many people with hospital appointments. It is so good to have your health. Although I have small problems I think I am one of the lucky ones.

I have recorded Dr Foster but I haven’t had time to watch it yet.

Curry was a nice change. Back to fast day again tomorrow. Is anyone else fasting?

Celtic I hope you have a good loss.

Audrey enjoy your caravan, it is meant to be a nice weekend during the day but a bit chilly at night time.

Weather tomorrow is a bit hit and miss. I am home again so a nice relaxing day I hope.

    Ginette

    Morning all,

Have weighed in and not lost anything, not really suprised because I was overeating when ian was off.

I am back to the caravan until Monday evening, so will have to behave myself there!

Doing a fast during the day today but got fish cake and actifry chips when we get to Wales so hoping to keep the calories low. …

    Have a great weekend everyone

    Audrey

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours. Xx

Audrey have a lovely relaxing away time in Wales. So very pretty there.

Don’t worry too much about this weeks weight.
I know easier said than done when you have pulled out all the stops so to speak… but you are doing brilliantly. Xx

Beverley hope all goes well for hubby today. Thinking about you. Xx

Hi Ginette Glad that curry was tasty just nice before a FD.

I don’t watch much TV.. love reading and of course computer but Dr Foster is looking to be good. Missed first one caught up on iPlayer.

About 5 2 I have to confess as yet I have not read or seen anything about Michael.. not sure of his other name. Lots keep quoting him on the other threads.

Does he say to do 5 3.. 5 4 BtB etc Just a thought as I laughed at Mum yesterday saying she was old fashioned because when I said I would try something to speed it up her remark was ” I wouldn’t mess it around …its says 5 2 so that’s what you should do … or it may not work.” Lol I did laugh but later it did get me thinking. What are your thoughts Ginette.

Hope you have a good FD day. Xx

Well guys from today this cottage is a alcohol free Zone for a month. Lolol

Kristy has got herself through the gym a personal trainer. He is gorgeous apparently and doesn’t come cheap. Lol So not sure if we are cutting down for health or to pay for him. Anyway, it really suits me and so pleased she is taking this option now. I may get some tips as he is all about eating the right food..

Have a great day Brit lovelies … united altogether.. we will all be there when the flag drops. Xx

    Morning all

FD over and off to Edinburgh today for hairdresser and a bit of lunch with my newly-married daughter. Hoping to stay off the cake. I’ve been craving carrot cake with creamcheese icing, so will run past any bakeries and coffee shops today!

    Morning all
Feeling lousy with this cold and not hungry yet. What a plus! Yesterday FD went well plus it helped that I took a long hard look in the full length mirror that I usually avoid like the plague. LOL NOT nice. A strange shape too! I am so determined with this I have surprised myself and feel much better too for not being overloaded with food. Long may it last.

My mantra is, stay strong, think positive and persevere.

Hemmy, thanks for the vibes. Well received and all others kind words. Really needed as Neil should be back with news from the hospital within a couple of hours. Then celebrations hopefully. Good job it’s not a FD!!!!!!

    Audrey, have a lovely weekend.

    Beverley

Hi Priscilla just crossed posts with you. x

Have a lovely day today …hairdo and lunch perfection. Treat yourself to a small slice of carrot cake or share with your daughter. We are all into sharing on this thread now. Lol Fish n chips .. curry … carrot cake you name it we can do it. Lol

    Enjoy your day. Xx

Priscilla keep on running hehe made me smile, have a lovely day with your daughter.

Hemmy, his name is Michael mosley if you google him it will lead you to the diet. …worth trying to see the horizon programme if you can find it …it’s very interesting. I think perhaps kirsty may end up more interested in the trainer than the training hehe lol x

Beverley I hope it’s good news from hospital, let us know please and try to stay strong….

I am still chocolate free, 12 days to go….

    Keep in touch everyone

    Audrey

    HI Beverley x

Well done on your FD.. re your cold have you tried taking Berocca. After a never ending cold and chest virus I had a couple of years ago .. started taking it … recommended by a Pilot friend who swore by it. I have to say my family and I take it religiously and never had a cold since. Even took in a list of tablets to the pharmacist for a neighbour with heart probs and it was okayed. Boots have 3 for 2 permanently.

Take care hope all goes well today Xx

    Hi Audrey Xx

Thanks for that will try to catch up on Michael Mosley.

Do so wish daughter would find a nice man. Lol 36 this Xmas not a grandchild in sight. Thinks men are all a lot of hassle. This rate she will never leave home comforts.

Getting dressed now.. not looking at any more posts. Lolol

Have a lovely time Audrey xx

The recipes in the free book are tomato soup 44 calories and mushroom stroganoff 70 calories amongst others.

I was thinking of trying a version of mushroom strogonoff tonight with heck sausages and some cauliflower rice. I need to use ingredients I have indoors. It is tipping down here and I am not setting foot outside that door!!

Good evening Friends .. hope all is well with you and yours. X

What a beautiful day makes you so happy and blessed.

Blackberries … sloes all ready for the picking. This year is just running away from us. I always pick and freeze lots of blackberries.. just gently poached in a little honey makes a lovely compote for natural yogurt.

Of course I also make sloe gin ( well of course I would). lol Wonderful.. just like a liquor nothing resembling gin when completed. . Wonderful tot on a cold day at Xmas.

Well how is everyone doing. Ginette that meal sounded lovely… Sorry to hear it is raining with you. x

Feast day for me today but went very gently . This week I haven’t had the munchies at all… but eating well.

Tonight was our first time of going wine free for 1 month. Kristy very inspired at the moment by her young Adonis trainer. Lol He is very into looking after the body with good food… and of course wine free.

Hope everyone had a lovely day … .All together We can do this.
    Don’t forget Brit lovelies.

What we do today will improve all our tomorrows. Xx

    Hi All

My version of mushroom strogonoff didn’t work. I shall try as per the recipe next time and see how this is. I had the cauliflower rice tonight…..not sure about this I cooked it as suggested on the packet and it tasted gritty, I ate it though….well what do you expect on a fast day!! I wasn’t going to leave it. Heck sausages were nice as always and it was really filling for a few calories. I finished off with melon with a nice cup of hot chocolate now. I am putting a couple of spoons og benefibre in this as I don’t get enough fibre, especially on fast days.

Finished on 394 so a really low day.

Hemmy I am pleased that the munchies have subsided. I’ve just got my smoked paprika to make hairy bikers chicken bake. So I am planning this for next week.

Well done on no wine. You will appreciate it all the more when you have it.

Hi I hope no one minds me joining you?

My name is Monica and I live in Yorkshire. Today is my first fast day, I’m new to the site and new to 5:2 as a whole so I’m just finding my way at present. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid 3 weeks ago and started on levothyroxine – life is pretty miserable at the moment but I’m assured it will get better and I’ll feel “normal” again soon!

I used to be a nice slim 10st and size 8-10, I used to run and do Zumba 4 times a week. Now I do nothing because I don’t have the energy and I’ve got 2st 6lbs to lose. My bmi is almost 31. My plan for today is as follows:

B: porridge (lighterlife low cal porridge bought from superdrug) with raspberries and blueberries.
L: weightwatchers chicken soup with 6 melba toast
    D: 2 morrisons stuffed mushrooms

    Total = 515kcal

Lots of green tea and water through the day and might try do my 30 day shred dvd if i can find some energy (I go on holiday to turkey in 29 days time so I’d like to at least tone up and not be as wobbly for then!)

Does this sound ok for a fast day? I bought some of the lighterlife fast products in case im out and about and need something quick but dont really want to base my whole fast day around them. Its all put into my fitness pal but because im under the minimum of 1000 cals it wont let me “complete” my diary.

Sorry for the ramble, look forward to chatting with you all,
    Monica

    Hi Monica

welcome, Im from Yorkshire, but I have a Geordie accent snd live just outside Edinburgh!! Still a tyke though!

A few of us here can really sympathise, because we were once size 10s. It seems a long road back, but I got to a size 20 – though didn’t admit that to many, in fact never ever told anyone my weight until I came on here eight months ago. But Im still here and 40 lbs lighter, looking to lose nearly the same again. So if there is hope here for me, there is hope for us all!!

Might I suggest, instead of looking at the bigger picture, look to lose the first 7 lbs. You might lose a fair bit in the first couple of weeks, many do – took me three weeks to get started.

Keep a tally of your calories on my fitness pal, I just ignore anything it says, knowing what you have eaten is the main thing. Have you calculated your TDEE, the calculator is on the site, some of us use a slighty lower target weight, say a stone less than we are, leaves a bit of leeway.

Whilst exercise will tone up your wobbly bits, and help in a myriad of ways healthwise, it doesnt help much with weightloss, so dont worrry about it. Once you get into 5:2 you WILL become less hungry, though you might want to chew your arm off occasionally, and you may have much more energy.

Good luck, you’ve come to the right place!!!!

Good morning friends hope all is well with you. X

Hi Ginette sounds like you ended up with a brilliant FD yesterday. Well done you. Good job you had the sausages in they do sound tasty. Enjoy your day. Xx
