  • Good morning team. Foxycoxy thanks for the recipes. I’m going to check them out I logout.
Cohahney. Do you have access to uTube? If so check out ” abdominal massage for constipation. It explains when the bowels are anatomically and how to perform the massage. I only started trying it out this morning so it’s too early to say if it helps.
Countrygal. Thanks for the tip re the plate size. I’m going to give it a go. Hubby is 6.1 in the old language and I’m 5.4 but probably eat as much as he does. Not very smart am I!
For those of you with insomnia. I’ve been a sufferer for decades. It started off while doing shift work as a nurse. Then the odd drama in life exacerbated it. I’m afraid that I take a sleeping tablet every night and have no intention of stopping. Sleep depravation can cause major health issues. Another trick I use is to download an audiobook onto my iPod. Preferably someone with a nice speaking voice and something you’ve listensed to before. Set the sleep timer and listen to it. I find it stops my mind racing from one issue to the next.
Cheers and enjoy your day ( or night ). DS.

Good morning all or Afternoon or even Evening or some of us. Down another 200gr today so that’s good. Can’t wait to see 75 it’s sort of like a milestone those 5’s and 0’s – and then a new lower number! Yeah for 5:2. Normal day today but will use MFP for my TDEE which I’m finding so good & easy to use. Simple as! And as much as I don’t like counting calories all the time it does keep me from getting anxious over what I’ve eaten. Hopefully with time I’ll have more of an inner sense of what I’ve eaten and follow my body cues better. It is coming slowly. I used to just eat simply because it was mealtime, and have a snack…whether I was hungry or not. That’s changed quite a lot now. And I don’t have that little voice inside me all of the time saying “Food, food, food!” And if I occasionally do I just think & say No, not hungry.
Have a great day all & use your aussie determination to stick to your plan. suejen
Heading over to the recipe thread now to have a look-see! Byee

Hi all! you are all most welcome re the creation of the recipe thread…..I’ve been checking it out regularly and lots of nice simple healthy recipes on there so far….what a great bunch we are!
Non-fast day today and eating very sensibly today plus heaps of water, am donating plasma later this afternoon, so need to be in tip top shape.

I’ve only ever suffered from constipation once since I started 5:2….I just took some metamucil after my fast dinner (decided not to count cals) and that seemed to work. I do find that after a fast day, that I go less anyway (TMI?) because there is less food in my system. Non-fast days have never been a problem because I am, and have always been a big water drinker.

Have a great day everyone, gotta go and make hubby his lunch now before he heads back to work 🙂

    Hello ADs
Great going for those mid week losses. Well done and congratulations Bali and suejen and others if I have missed someone.
I am scared to step on scales as I feel a lot bloated. Fasting today, usually fasting helps with bloating, but nah nah nah, not this time. hate this TOM, especially all the pains and bloating and weight gain.
I know I have been complaining about this every month, sorry for the whinge but gotta get this feeling out of the system. So apologies……

Foxy great idea to start the recipe thread. I am fasting today and reading all those recipes is making me drool. May be I will not look at that thread until tomorrow.. Ha ha haha

Lotus, you sound like a very good cook. I wish I could be that creative with food too.

FC, where are you, GG has found a perfect pair of thongs for you. Isn’t she generous?? Gotta love her 🙂

Thanks CG for all your motivational tips…..
And Welcome all newcomers… enjoy the 5:2 journey. Its very flexible and forgiving. off to more work now…. Phew………..

Thanks for the compliment FB 🙂
And you poor thing – TOM sucks, I hope you get a lie-down with a hot waterbottle soon. The good thing is, around day 3, all the “weight” just drops off!
Fasting today too for me, plus another fast on Friday (I have a work function that day though, so hopin’ to do my FD tomorrow with all of you lovelies).
Suejen and others- congrats on the weightloss!
May the force be with us all for tomorrow’s fast!

    Hi everyone,

Great idea for the recipe thread. Have read through. Some great recipes..
I am having a fast day today and a strange day. I have a toothache, it will need to be extracted but I went to the dentist and therefore did not have time to eat till I got to work. Had a meeting straight up and ended up feeling quite light headed with the toothache and not eating till 5pm.
Now taken painkillers and had something to eat, a Chia Pudding…yum…feeling a bit better now…

You guys are awesome. there is no-where else I could explain all of this and people would understand how it feels.

Catherine, much sympathy with the toothache. Don’t push yourself with fasting while you are suffering. When is the extraction scheduled for?

Cath, I second that, nothing worse you poor girl. Warm drinks sometimes help, but definitely pain killers….did you make the pudding? If so could you add it to our recipe thread…when your feeling better of course. Is your dental appt close? CG xxx( also a warm face-washer on the side of the toothache, just hold it to the cheek)

I feel for you Cath!. Here are 2 old remedies for toothache: Hot pack rapped in teatowel…. careful not to burn your face!
Grind (MORTAR&PESTLE)2 cloves and mix with a little olive oil. Apply directly to the tooth .OR Crush 1 clove of garlic with some salt , apply directly to tooth.
Do not put any cold on the tooth ,such as ICE CUBE as it can cause more discomfort.
Hope these oldies but goodie remedies work for you. Take care……GO GAL XX

Hi all. I got pretty sick Monday night (stille am in fact) which makes it hard to focus on a computer. But I just wanted to check in to congratulate you guys on qualifying for Eurosong contest this year. Are you excited? I’ll catch up when my fever goes down a bit so I can read a screen properly again. Anyway, super chuffed about Australia entering 😀

Thoughts & wishes to GET WELL SOON!….. Take care of you…..GO GAL XX

    Hi again,

Thank you all so much for the advice. I am booked in for the extraction on the 31st March but trying to get it bought forward. I have a cruise to go on 5th March. I have loads of yummy food waiting for me and do not want to be inhibited by this.
The actual pain is not associated with the top of the tooth, it is coming from the root as I have a crown on that tooth, which makes it easier because hot and cold do not affect it, but I think the hotpack might help the gums, thanks GG.
I have already put the chia pudding recipe on the recipe thread CG. I thought, I have to share this, it was so good…..
FC I hope you feel better soon as well….

Cath hope you can get an earlier app’t & loads of good advice there for you to take. Have to look up that chia recipe too. Thanks.
FC hope you’re better soon too & thanks re Eurovision – yes, quite excited at this house.
Thanks FB for the congrats, doing well so far and loving this journey – UNLIKE any other diet I’ve been on, so don’t consider this a diet as such. That downgrades the concept too much I reckon. It’s a way of life…and when I buy those new size 12 or 14 clothes I should never have to buy larger clothes ever again. Agree???
Had another good non-fasting day today eating about 1450 cals by the time the day is finished. If you haven’t tried My Fitness Pal yet, then get onto it to track your TDEE on your non-fasting days. A huge help and simple as!
Have a good night everyone and enjoy waking up to another fat-busting fast day (for most of us I’m guessing?) that’s also improving our health by leaps and bounds. They get easier and more straight forward and manageable as time goes on.
    suejen

Flemmy sorry to hear your not well, take care, keep warm and rest up…CG xx

Hi all! Not thrilled with weight loss this week (less than one pound) and measuring tape didn’t move either. Was going to have a bit of a moan and then I thought what would all you wonderful AD people say – so I’m looking on the positive side and telling myself that at least it’s going in the right direction. I did two good fast days and stayed under my TDEE ( I think), so the health benefits have to be there at least. Thank you all for helping me adopt this more ‘glass half full’ attitude!
Suejen, do you enter all you eat on MFP? I find it hard because the choices offered don’t really tally with the foods I eat. Must look again at tracking TDEE and see where I’m going wrong.
Flemmy, sorry to hear you not well, hope you on the mend soon.
Best of luck to all for rest of the week!! Xx

Fittoretire, with MFP, if you go into “More” there is a recipe section where you add your own foods and it works your cals out for you also when you enter foods, if your is not there you can add it, and save it…sounds confusing when I read that back…look in the videos on how to use it under Help…see if that solves your problem. Foods which are not listed you can add manually…CG

Hi everyone, havent been here for a bit and boy is there a lot to catch up on.. Up to 60 pages now.. Wow! Goes to show what a great lot of people you all are.
Tried a recipe from the WWeekly 2 day diet book tonight, thai crab fritters and cabbage salad.. Was really yum. The recipe called for Fried Noodle Salad dressing, that was delicious, i could have just had the salad, i can share the recipe if anyone is interested.
The scales hate me, and i hate them, they dont go up, they dont go down..
    I am hanging in though.
Take care ADs.. I better check here more frequently if i dont want to miss all these pages of posts
    Cheers all

Robbie lovely to hear from you, yes please put the full recipe on our new thread for us to share. I’m having the same love hate battle with my scales although more hate than love these days, first 20k’s gone in 6 mths, now I’ve stalled, but hanging in there with heaps of AUSSIE DETERMINATION as you are. We wont let it beat us, I still need to drop at least another 10-15 k but by Xmas this year, hope it will be gone, nice and slowly. I’m up, after tossing and turning for the last 1.5 hrs and still no sleep, grrr! Not even a fast day! Enjoy your evening and stay in touch…CG xx

Ha Robbie I have that down on my plan to make for my FD tomorrow! Good to hear that it’s yum….that will help me hang out all day for it.
CG & R just hang in there cos you KNOW this program works – CG you only have to look back at the 20 kgs you’ve lost & that’s an amazing feat. You must look so different AND feel so different ie much healthier. So hang in there, do the hard yards with your fast days, count your TDEE on the other days & remember the Pantene ad……”It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen!” Countrygal you’re always so hugely encouraging with us. So you just have to give yourself a huge dose of that encouragement now & believe in it totally. And then chuck in some aussie determination & you’ll be right.
    suejen
PS CG hope you’re asleep by now & not still up reading this.

Morning team, thank you suejen, your right of course, if anything I need a good foot up the backside! I don’t think I’m down about it just getting frustrated. Like all of you, I stick with the plan, very rarely go near my TDEE usually so well under it, now doing Water Aerobices for exercise and movement, but getting theses blessed plateaus is just so maddening! I doubt I’d ever give up our 5:2 WOL is so ingrained in me now. I do the odd b2b but not usually planned, just through food choices and being busy around home. I don’t really think mixing it up any further will alter things for me. I just keep telling myself over time, the less you eat the more you lose so it HAS to be working, even if unseen, it’s working. I’m extremely impressed with my loss upto now, just wish it wouls keep moving. My rant last night I think was due to constant lack of sleep which really indicates my body is busy disolving fat and doing as it should, just wish it would do it through the day when I’m up and around, not when I’m trying to sleep! Another fast day is with us today anyway, all so easy and doable, YOU CAN DO IT, eating is usually habit, not hunger, thirst can be blamed too, so either stick with your good old favourites or try something new today for variety. Our losses ARE an individual happening, to lose 20k in six months is a phenominal amount but not all of you will do that, but dose it matter? This isn’t a race, it’s a way of life as you know, self motivation isn’t always easy and as suejen just showed me, we are there for each other especially when “The goin’ gets tough” I have read on other threads where plareaus can last up to months, but again, thing are happening, your shape is changing amongst other things. I know I look slimmer, I know I’m eating smaller size meals, I know my choices are healthy so tell yourself, I’m doing everything right, it has to be better for me. I’m going to the health food shop when down town tomorrow to get some sort of natural remedy to help me sleep. It does alter your way of thinking! Have a wonderful day, feel free to jump on and give me a stern talking too 🙂 but again, I wouldn’t ever consider giving up, I haven’t felt this good in years, and lovin’ the compliments that come at regular intervals. 😆 just gotta keep remembering that!…any typos pls forgive me, put it down to being over tired, although I don’t feel it, I feel I could run “the Landy mile” without probs with energy to spare… 🙂 CG xxxx

    Hi all

Fast day today trying no brekky. Will have homemade tomato and capsicum soup lunch, homemade burger and huge salad for dinner, will add feta cheese to make up,for no egg this morning. I will be at work so challenging. I can do this.

A surprise this morning I was standing in front of mirror before shower, I could see the outline of my ribs on my side. Wow.

Funny how you notice new things.

    Have a great day

Hi team, just as an aside, I’ve done a web crawl on Healthy sleep remedies and the number one recommendation is Magnesium and Calcium as Dogsabie suggested, also….Cherry Juice, must say I’ve never seen it, (or noticed it anyway) might be a health food shop product but will check out Safeway tomorrow, and lastly is a tea made with Valerian, health food shop again I think…., so natural remedies are available. Thought I’d share this as so many of us have the same problem, some worse than others… CG 🙂 xxxxxx

CG, you don’t need a stern talking to – you are doing all that for yourself!! What I will like to give you though, is a big hug and pat in the back – for achieving so much and inspiring so many of us. Rest up, sleeplessness also causes weight gains. So if you cannot sleep at night, see if you can take a nap in the afternoon? And no screen /comp after 10 pm!
Bali – FD today for me too, great that you can see your rib outline! I wish I could unsee my tummy… sigh. getting there but 🙂
When you have a moment, could you post capsicum and tomato soup on the recipe thread? sounds delish

Hi CG, and other sleepless friends. I saw this article title and thought you might like it. I acn’t watch it now as its a video and am at work
    http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/30-minute-naps-good-full-nights-sleep-28889078

CG, I don’t think I eat near my TDEE often either because I just don’t want that much. I wonder sometimes if I might be sabotaging myself and lowering my metabolism or something.
It is hard though when your way of eating has changed, I just don’t want big meals and as I eat low carb most of the time, it can be hard to get up there.
I have been reading all about the ketosis aspect of the low carb eating which means you burn fat when your glycogen stores are depleted which definitely happens on my fast days. Not sure about the other days. Apparently you can get sticks from the chemist to test your urine quite cheaply which I am going to investigate.
I am in no position to explain this to anyone but others may know already what I am talking about.

Hi girls, thanks for the vote of confidence, I often wonder if ” pigouts” are the go. How often do members come back from holidays or BIG weekends only to find they have lost or only gained such a small amount which goes in one fast. Maybe the metabolism needs the foot up the rear end??? Finding a way to reboot metabolism as we age is something still a mystery to science I think. But in time, eating less has to mean weight loss. Uptight, I’m with you, I just can’t eat the amount I used to, I have rare nights when I need a nibble, dry bikkie BUTTER and cheese, and love every morsel but have pretty much trained myself into not eating after dinner. In saying that, with so many peaches on board I made a peach cobbler last night and boy, was it yum, still enough for another three nights cold!….not tonight though…. 🙂 My AUSSIE DETERMINATION is really peeking as I will not let a plateau beat me, but just wish I had something to fight with. I agree too Lotus sleeplessness doesn’t aid weight loss, so that’s another avenue I’m chasing. Oh well, one day at a time, still proud of my achievements and will never give up…this is so doable and easy that’s why I’m so positive with our thread, I’m proof it does work, and I know weight loss is the added bonus, but I NEED THE LOSS To be healthy and help back pain …. CG 🙂 xxxxxx

    Good Morning Ads
All the best to all fasting today. I fasted yesterday and went a bit over and finished at 568 cals. I think not too much of a damage as most fast days I am under 500.
Weighed yesterday evening and weight is same as last week 70.7, no change. i was dreading a gain for more than a kilo due to my normal bloat at this TOM, but I guess, i should be happy that atleast there was no gain.
keep the recipe thread going, i have a bag of chia seeds sitting in pantry and I didn’t know what to do with them. Now I can make a pudding and chia and coconut slice, YUM!!!

Made some savory zucchini muffins with whole wheat flour yesterday, topped it with cream cheese and yum at 130 cals for each muffin.
Will post the recipe on Recipe thread later if someone is interested.

Your doing so well FB, congratulations….your loss has been incredible… 🙂 CG xx

HI fellow ADs and Flemmy. I’m so sorry about your illness. I hope you feel better soon. Countrgal you have lost 20 kilos in 6 months. WOW. What an achievement. Feel free to have a whinge about the plateau. I seem to be there too. It’s a bummer but I feel very bright eyed and bushy tailed so know the 5:2 is working. One of you wrote about ketosis. Yes that is what happens and it’s good for you, except if you are a diabetic.
Countergal, I don’t know if you read my post re insomnia. It’s been a issue for me for many years. Shift work and all that plus life’s ups and downs. I take Nitrazapam every night. Prescription off course. If I don’t get a good nights sleep I feel like death warmed up. Another tip. Do you have an iPod? If so try this. Download an audiobook and listen to this at night using the sleep timer. I find it stops the mind from jumping around from one issue to another.
    Happy dieting all.

    Good morning all!

CG….don’t let the plateau blues get to you. Remember you are exercising with the water aerobic now, so maybe building up some muscle mass? I know how you are feeling….I seem to slow down after each 1 kg loss….talking of pig outs….not to encourage anyone, but I had a HUGE one last weekend….potato chips, bread, wine & champus….the lot…..was back up to 75kg after! Then after Mondays fast back down to 73 where I am today, only thing is I may not lose this week…..fasting today so will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings..

I have been very restless at night too…..hubby takes magnesium so I might try one of his tonight and see if it helps…

Flemmy, I hope you are feeling better soon…..and yes isn’t great that Australia is now part of Europe! haha

FB…..wow you are soooo close to breaking into the 60s! not long now, once that dreaded TOM has gone, you will be there I reckon…..so glad I don’t have that bother anymore….like you, I too suffered heaps of pain….so many days in bed with a hot pack on my tummy, regular days off work, terrible cravings for chocolate and red wine….sorest boob in the world eeeek….I feel for you and any one else who suffers with TOM..

Bali…..well done on spotting your ribs, that really does give you inspiration doesn’t it? When I lie on my back, my hip bones are just starting to stick up a bit….Oh happy days! Good luck with skipping breakfast, you can do it….the longer you can go without eating the better the fasting works..

OK…..off to do some banking and then head home for a morning cuppa! Have a great day everyone 🙂

Morning everyone gee we have so much chat here that if you get on late it’s hard to keep track of it all! CG I reckon trying mixing up your calories might help ie toss in an extra couple of hundred one day or eat right to you TDEE (if you can!). It does help to give the metabolism a bit of a shock sometimes. But I feel that lack of sleep is most likely your main issue. Your body is struggling with that primarily so solve that one & you’ll be back on track. Oh and CG the tea I bought with Valerian in it is a Planet organic herbal tea called “Bedtime” with valerian, elmongrass & hops. And I must admit I have been sleeping well so see if you can find that one. This was from a health/gourmet shop. A lot of supermarkets carry the Planet brand too but maybe not the whole range.

Just got back from a big session of Pilates & now into my FD. Lots of drinking to come and then Thai Crabcakes & salad for dinner.

FB have you posted the Zucchini Muffins. Would like to make as I’ve been wanting muffins. That brought up an interesting realisation. I don’t actually CRAVE foods as such any more really, not like I used to. I guess it goes with the general lower dependence/need/interest in food. It’s like the muffins….that’s just a positive thought/feeling that it would be good to make some & enjoy – not that same urgency or desperateness I used to have, that food never seems to fill anyway!

Have a great FD all of you who are Thursday fasters. suejen

Day 2 of fasting – ive decided to fast on sundays and Thursdays and have found it super easy although I do get tired on my fast days so im making more of an effot to eat more red meat on my non fast days – apart from that the belly IS getting smaller and my dermatitis is clearing up 😀 loving this and so glad to have found something normal and easy to do.

Re Valerium for sleeping aid. When I was a student nurse ( probably before you were all born) we used to use it as a sedative for children.
My FD as well today. It’s going well so far and haven’t been at all hungry – yet! We are having smoked salmon and salads for dinner.
Tomorrow is weigh day. I’m hoping for some joy wiht the scales, or just the measurements will do.

Hi team, I’m so grateful for your suggestions. Dogsabie, I’ve done as you said and downloaded some audio books (which I didn’t know was possible) and with luck the Magnesium should be in the mail tomorrow, either way, I’ll get a bottle from the chemist, awfully dear down here but I need it and a second bottle wont go astray……and suejen, I’ll certainly be looking for that tea, tomorrow when down town, I would have walk straight past it normally, so will go to the health food shop if Safeway don’t have it, so team, after water aerobics tomorrow morning, then shopping, then listening to an audio book, in bed tomorrow night whist sipping my new special tea, I should sleep like a baby! If I don’t post Saturday, I’ll maybe still be catching up on long lost sleep, haha!
Haven’t eaten as yet, 3.20pm, but just having a banana now, just because the green is almost gone and it’s a firm yellow one, prawn cantaloupe salad again tonight to use it up as they don’t last long and I was so impressed with my master piece the other night. This time I’ll mix a few scollops in as well….keep up the good work team, nows the time for a drink if the hunger is niggling you, I’m having a lemon lime mineral water,it does ease the gurgles…and dinner is only a few hours away, YOU CAN DO IT, and then the big weigh in tomorrow!…. 🙂 CG xx

Me again. Ive just been reading the forums/ most popular. – what to do if you are not losing weight. It was started by Michael and is well worth reading.

Hi Dogie, (do you mind the new name? As we seem to shorten every one else’s with pet names or initials, and we didn’t with you YET)I’ve read them all, well nearly, the ADF seems the hard way but may have to resort to that for a month! I’m thinking of starting Monday with either 4:3 or ADF because I’m not over eating on non fast days but do part take in a couple and don’t like the thought of being too stringent, as with the normal diet as the 5:2 got me where I am now. I’m glad you bought it to our attention though as some only read our thread and there is so much extra advise available on this forum. Hope you doing well with your fast today, not long now 🙂 ..CG xx

    Hello everyone

CG I take magnesium every night. It helped with my headaches and my muscle soreness and makes me sleep. Unlike most of you i used to fall asleep then wake at 3am and then watch the clock. Another trick is to count backwards from 300. I think your mind just gets bored and goes to sleep. I get my magnesium at chemist warehouse which we have nearby when on special but you can order online.

So went fine without breakfast had my soup then about 4 headache not sure if no protein. So had a chicken ball leftover and a nectarine to pump me up for circuit training. Seems to have eased, so maybe protein. who knows.

Have made my hamburgers will cook when I get back.

Don’t give in everyone tomorrow is another day.

    Take care.

Ingrid, I’m sorry, I didn’t see your post….WELCOME, wow, a smaller belly too, congratulation, that’s what gives you motivation, and now your part of AUSSIE DETERMINATION we can help with your journey, as the team has with me today. You’ll find as you get used to fasting it does get easier and the tiredness will pass, hoho, check out my last few posts, you will feel really alert!
Lotus, good reading on the nap, I’ve forwarded it to my Son who is a baker and does night shift. Thank you for finding that…..dinner is getting close team, not long now if your struggling, except for our members over in The West, I find I really get past the hunger by now and really need to force myself to have dinner, just don’t like the idea of no nutrition for a whole day and frightened I might get the hungers through the night.
Fancy Valerian being used as a sedative Dogie, that could be the answer too, have you tried it rather than meds?… CG 🙂 xx

All new here and trying to get my head around it all. Don’t have a lot of time as I am usually at work. Just jagged today to be here and check out the forum. Is anyone else in Perth WA? This is just my 2nd fast day. I am told it gets better. I am so hungry. I have fasted many many times b4, but never for a full day like this. Challenges are good – they make us stronger, someone once said. Does anyone have some Aussie food ideas too please? No kippers or haddock for me. YUK!!!

Hey Suejen, recipe posted on recipe thread.
Imi halved the ingredients n still got more than 8 mini muffins. Better as calorie content is lower per miffin, which means 1 small muffin will be way less than 130 cals as per stated in recipe.
And re applesauce, in case someone wants it, available in health section of woolies. Well, i didnt know where to look for applesauce… He he he

Hello Roselyn! Welcome to this thread.
Try the Aussie Determination – Recipe thread, there are some nice Aussie recipes in them – and not a kipper in sight!
and yes, it does get better after a couple of weeks(hunger lessens, and you will find lots of joy in the slow and steady weight loss)

Glad to be of help CG.
I had a back to back fast today (after yesterday) plus one on Monday. I had originally planned Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Friday is not possible (socially, hehe), so shifted it Thursday – today.
Actually, for anyone contemplating 4:3, I find it better for me than 5:2, as then there is not much lag between fasting and feeding days – aka, less chances to binge or eat unwisely! Seems to help with plataeus definitely. This is week two for me on 4:3 after about a month of 5:2, and although last week’s third FD was tough, this week has been a breeze. Mainly because I took CG’s advise and didn’t sweat about making it to the recommended 16 hour gap before eating from last night, 14 hours is about the max I can hold out to.
That TOM for me too this week, so not hoping for a big loss, maintanence should be enough. IF there is a loss on Saturday’s weigh-in, I will be so chuffed.

Hi Lotus, good work, I think from Monday I’ll do a 4:3 for a month, I don’t think just one week will make much difference and if things start moving (fat) again I’ll go back to 5:2. It’s basically just to start the wheels moving again, and your right DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF, like FB, a few cals over will not make or break a fast day! It’s not usual so the odd time is not worth the worry. So no matter what my weigh in is, that’s the plan, Mon, Wed and Friday next week fast…for four weeks! Do I sound positive??
Roslyn, WELCOME to our wonderful thread, yes, the are a few W.A members with us so you are not the only one. If your at work, pack yourself some carrot straws, bit of capsicum or celery for nibbles, even an apple mid arvo but remember to count the cals. Even zero coke helps in the beginning to keep you fuller, or any diet soft drink, just a glass or two in the arvo when it really gets hard for you, and it carries you through till dinner time..YOU DAN DO IT we are here when you need us.. 🙂 CG xx

Hi Roslyn I’m in Perth and there are a few others in various parts of WA. The FD does get better and you benefit from planning the day before so you have stuff on hand. Hard boiled eggs are great to help with the hungries so look for protein that will keep you going and maybe make up so soup and add tinned beans or chickpeas and portion out. You mentioned you work so both these options are doable for work. Others have great suggestions if you read thru. Good luck!

CG managed to get started on MFP and it gave me kj’s not calories. Is that what it does so you have to divide by 4 to get approx. count? Going to the ‘go to Guru’!!!! 🙂

My husband is still on holidays so being dragged out again …. will have to come back and finish reading and checking out recipe thread. Catch up later but probably everyone will have checked out! YY

Yumyum, you get the option as to the weights, just look, might be on your tracker or profile, can’t remember, no one deserves to have this up and running more than you, I’ll check mine tonight or maybe one of the other girls will remember how to change it…keep looking, good luck..CG xx

Yumyum, got it, go into MORE ( bottom of page) MFP..click in profile…you can see preferred measurements at the bottom, just click what you want…yippppy, hope that’s got it for you… 🙂 CG xx

Boy we’re a busy bunch…can’t believe it sometimes! You have to read so far back to get up to speed, or give up like I do sometimes.
Roslyn I’m in Margaret River so not too far away. Welcome to the group. Yes it does get easier. I’m ín Week 3 now and can’t believe how much easier it is now. Plan, plan, plan especially if you work. I find protein is the key for me and yes as Yum Yum says HB eggs are just great.
CG so you’re going to try 4:3. I don’t think I could do it. I really like those couple of days in between. But if I hit a plateau I might have to as well.
FB going to make those muffins tomorrow & I THINK I’ve got a jar of apple sauce in the pantry – hope that’s right. Yummo!
Ingrid welcome to AD & glad that you’re already seeing results – that’s pretty positive.
Well just having my usual hot Vegemite drink which has become a bit of a staple for FD’s – partly for headaches, partly because I really like it & seems to fill me up more than just water. Now looking forward to my crabcakes for dinner. Funny – didn’t know such a thing as a Fried Noodle Salad Dressing existed till now, & it’s in the WW Fast Day book so can’t be as bad in cals as it sounds!
Hope you all had a beaut day & are looking forward to brekky tomorrow. SJ

Suejen, please enlighten me, what is ” hot Vegemite drink” ? Never heard of it.

I have to chuckle! Everyone is talking about doing 4/3 but when I said i was going to try it at least 2 people said the difference is negligible so I didn’t. Let me know if you think it is worth it. Cheers.
