  • Ever tried the 10 minute rule?

I think Michael Moseley mentions it in his studies of 5:2

First give yourself permission to eat….as you are in control of the food you eat…then wait 10 minutes before eating it……I find that my mind has gone onto some other food/distraction and I reapply the 10 minute rule…I can do this all day!….I just had a thought…maybe this shows I can be easily distracted LOL

Oh and dont forget to laugh..your in control remember!!

    CG Love the bike scenario!

Thanks CG, am sure it is fluid .. So hot yesterday , I just wanted to drink everything cold water , mint tea infusion…its upper abdo & waist just like BALI.

SWANY- I would suggest the same as CG. Have protein only to keep you full eg eggs. On a cruise they have a walking group & gym so use whats at hand for exercise, not to forget you will by doing walking on shore. Have a fab time .5:2 will always be there to come back to….. GO GAL

Good morning everyone…..beautiful blue skies this morning! Took Chester for walk, then did some gardening in my vegie patch……find I don’t want to eat breakfast until much later now, thanks to fasting. Went and saw The Water Diviner yesterday arvo…..very powerful, but Oh so sad! Then we went out for dinner which was a bit of a trial as one person there was very opinionated and talks heaps of politics…..I had two glasses of wine but was wishing I had a whole bottle! On way home called into bottle shop for wine…..resisted a BIG BAG of chips….my weakness…..got home and only had one glass of the wine….just did it out of frustration because I felt so stressed from the dinner!!

TODAY IS ANOTHER DAY! That’s the best thing about 5:2….you can just get back on with it….fasting tomorrow, then son gets here Tuesday so not sure when I’ll do another one….have a great day everyone 🙂

Oh CG….I LOVE CHEESE…..my sis and I did a cheese making course for our birthdays last year…..and I can make camembert, cream cheese and mascapone….talk about temptation…..especially when recipe makes 8 camemberts!!

Happy New Year to all AD’s
Thank you for the very warm welcome 🙂

    I have survived two successful FD’s .
I am fasting Monday, and Thursday with recording on Saturday.
While I am not here every day I do enjoy catching up on all the posts when I come on. I find them very helpful and I am encouraged by you all.

Thanks Fella’s for letting me know I was not the only male on here, not that it really worried me I was just curious. 🙂

    Hi all.
I’ll be catching up on page 30 tomorrow, a bit too tired to do it now.

vegiemumma, I always need at least 20 minutes to get over cravings/hunger pangs, but I agree, making yourself wait does help tremendously. That’s a very good tip. I also realised that when I choose to have a snack, I tend to pick out way more than
I need to feel satisfied. So eating my snacks slowly also makes me feel my saturation better and help me eat less treats. I allotted myself an apple, an orange, a tiny bit of leftover eggy custard from baking on New Year’s and 2 pieces of biscotti (I’d been very good throughout the day). By the time I got to the biscotti I realised I really didn’t crave it at all so I didn’t eat it. But when I’m picking things to eat I always go crazy in collecting stuff because my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I’m like a squirrel that way. Only I just eat it instead of hiding it for Winter 🙂

Wow, Foxy, you make cheese? I’m endlessly impressed by that. Maybe I should tak my mum on a mother-daughter date for her birthday, she loves cheese more than she loves me 😉

Foxy what is the difference between brie and camembert, I always buy one of each and other than the label, wouldn’t know the difference.
I bet Tuesday wont come quick enough for you, enjoy the precious time you have together with your Son , if it’s 2 years since he last saw you, he may not recognise his Skinny Mumma!… All The best CG xxx

Hi everyone, have been following some of the posts and decided to jump in, so to speak. I started 5:2 three weeks ago with Monday and Wednesday my “fast” days. I have a big job ahead of me to get to a reasonable weight so it will a very long road. Anyway, these first weeks have been positive, my husband is supportive and I have made progress. Tomorrow is Monday and I am looking forward to it. Bring it on!!!
I am also home again and use the pool every day which is a very relaxing way to get in some serious exercise. Thank you for any ideas you can offer. Mimsnewworld

Hi Mimsnewworld and welcome. We at AUSSIE DETERMINATION will support you all the way, we are all on the journey for the long haul and enjoy our fasting, sharing advice and ideas and getting things off our chest when things don’t go as planned. If you have any questions please ask as one or more of our team will try to assist….good luck on your quest…..CG

Hi to all the newcomers. This is a great place full of supportive people.

Pleasant day. Family brunch down in Daylesford (YUM!). A few hours work (not the fun bit) and just finished a brisk 4km walk around the lovely Castlemaine Botanical Gardens.

A few ciders this evening and a relaxed dinner later and tomorrow……. back into the 5:2 swing of things!

Yorkiegirl65, why are there hot cross buns in the shops already? It’s months to go yet, those so and so shops! We just get over one lot of eating hazard and they set up another for us!

Swany, I’m also going on a cruise 13 days at the end of January. It’s one of the reasons I started this WOL. I’m so encouraged that you’re going to fast while cruising. It’s made me think I can too, especially shore days. Just watch our AUSSIE DETERMINATION.

GG, I was so upset a couple of weeks ago when it seemed I had put on 1.5kg in 2 days but it went again during the next few days. I hope my 2 cents worth backs up what CG said.

CG, LOL at you chanting and riding your bike, good on you, whatever works hey.

Swany, this might sound strange, but I had a headache problem when I started and I found that increasing my salt intake just slightly on FDs took care of that problem. Give it a try. It might help you too. And about fasting on Holiday. I use the travel days for proper fasts (who wants to eat aeroplane food or road restaurant food anyway?) and on the Holiday, I pick random days where I go extreme low cal without actually fasting. For instance, I don’t deprive myself of Spanish café con leche when I’m there but I always leave the biscuits (and sugar!). Plus I stick to soup all day. It might not be 500 kcal exactly but I feel cleansed and I even managed to lose weight this year on my Holiday. Don’t stress but pick a few healthy/low cal days and do a proper fast on your journey there and back. Makes the ‘useless’ travel time feel functional. Plus you already feel accomplished when you arrive at your destination. 2 birds, 1 stone. Sorry for the novel 🙂

Lol@ CG, I’m delighted about the mental image you’ve given me of you chanting on your bike. That does sound like fun! Also, 650 kcal sounds more like a proper fast than a minifast to me. Well done!

GG, I agree with CG, it’s probably water. I wouldn’t wory about it. Plus heat always makes me bloat and retain even more water. But maybe my body isn’t as accostumed to heat as yours lol.

    I know it’s not Weigh Day but I reached a new low today so I thought I’d brag. SW:85.5 PW:63.5 CW:63.3 CL:200g TL:22.2kg

Anyway, tomorrow my regular routine starts again (no more fiddling with FDs) so I can participate in the regular WeighDays again. Yay!

    Keep it going, everone!xXx

ETA: edited because my Dutch autocorrect is playing tricks on me again.

Hi all, I’m back from a few days ‘up at the farm’ near New Norcia, Western Australia. I should head up there more often on my own. Dad has lived on his own there for about five years (since mum passed). There is NO food let alone bad food!! Ha ha.

I’ve been reading all the posts and was going to write heaps of things, but With no pen and paper to write it down as I thouht it, it’s all gone!

Things I remember, Andrew: I too put back on what I lost before Christmas. On fast days, I find if I start eating at two or three pm, I don’t stop, so I am going to put off eating as long as I can and then have my meal for the day so I fill up on that. Must drink water.

Pilates starts for me again tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Take care all. X Reldz

Wow, for the first time in weeks (or months, even?) I went on the general board (recent comments) and it’s a whole new batch of people there as well. I love all the fresh New Year’s meat coming in. I like the idea of so many people starting the journey we’ve been on a while and (hopefully) being able to help them. It’s nice. I hope that in a year from now they’ll all feel about this WOL/forum the way I feel about it now. So grateful to have found it. It makes me realise again that I ahve no idea where me and my health would be right now had I not watched that documentary back in 2013. I felt so hopeless and stuck and I besides a healthier and happier body, I have a whole new outlook on life and myself. I hope the new people (on this thread and on the board in general) will find the same peace with this WOL I found.

Just thought I’d throw that out there. For no real reason.

Good morning team, happy fast day, good luck to those of you starting back to work uuh! A bit of a sleep in so starting a bit later today, just about to “get on my bike” in my jammies before starting my day. Will be on the ride on for a few hours today, so could be quite saddle weary by days end. 🙁 To all of you starting back on fasting, it can be a bit daunting, remember YOU CAN DO IT, keep the fluids going, if the tummy gurgles start happening, just tell your self, the body is eating up all that fat so feel good about it and welcome it! Try to last as long as possible before eating, often having food early starts the hunger. Your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will stick by you 😆 just persevere you will be so proud when you get into bed tonight. I’m off to ride, then jump in the shower now so have a great day team, stay safe to all near the fires, how awful, we are in for a stinkin summer with fires this year 🙁 Have a great day team ….CG xx

I feel the same flemishcurves over our Christmas break I felt confident wore bathers wore shorts. Wore my wetsuit with a lot of room in it.

I have noticed that my outlook on life has increased.

My overindulgent food over the two weeks away, made me feel sick and when I came home low. I did this to myself.

Started back on board this week, filled my body full of fruits and salad yesterday. Feel better today already. Back to Monday thursday fasts and back at gym today.

Hope everyone is well, enjoy your fasts

The holidays can really work tricks on our newly learned habits. It’s easy to get caught up in old habits when Christmas rolls around. It’s just once a year and you’re back so quickly, you’ll soon feel fresh and light again, Bali. I too wore shorts/skirts for the first time without leggings underneath this Summer holiday and it was so nice. We’re all getting back in the habit this week, regaining control of our lives, I’m actually quite excited about it.

Luckily 5:2 is a very forgiving WOL and the second you start again, you can feel the benefits of living more healthily. I’m just trying to remember that last year around this time (February) I put on a bunch of weight back on and felt terrible, but since have relost all that and then some. We’re all on a downward trend and a year from now, we can look back and see the holidays were just a tiny bump in the progress we’ve made.

    Good Morning ADs
Back at work today and so glad that I am back to fasting.
CG love your way of motivating yourself to ride that bike. I was laughing really hard when I read your post. Keep it up!!!
Bali and FC, I am so so so desperate to be able to wear shorts and even dresses without stockings. Shorts are a big no no for me as I carry a lot of weight on my legs. But even when I wear dresses above knees, I have to wear stockings. My legs (just above the knees) start to look like cellulite pillars. Hate that look. I can imagine the joy of wearing shorts on holidays as that is really something that I’d love to do some day too.

Good news is that hubby started fasting today as well. He was very confident that its easy for him to fast until I told him that no fruit/ or very little fruit at lunch time as he is used to having a banana, 2 apples and one or two peaches for lunch. Ha ha ha ha ha
Gave him some herbal tea bags to get through the day. And my tip (not so healthy) a coke zero at lunch time to keep those hunger pangs away. Really works for me.

Foxy, I think I got carried away with setting targets….LOL….. I think I will aim for 71.5 until end of December as it will then be 2.8 kgs in Jan (Right now, I am hovering between 74 and 74.3 kgs)

GG, we all have complained about weight gain during the silly season and pretty much most of us have lost it too. Its just water weight. Deep inside we know it but reassurance is always good and I promise that it will go away before you know it.You are a Champ at B2B and you will get rid of this excess water in no time.

All those fasting today, happy fasting!!!! I am really glad to be back in routine and hope everyone else feels the same. As CG says, drink up lots of fluids, it really helps…

Morning Determinators! Here we go on our 1st first real fast for 2015! We are ready , we have planned,we have prepared, and with our AUSSIE DETERMINATION we will succeed!

BALI- its wonderful when your wetsuit has room… and shows off your waist… I felt like a sleek mermaid in mine when diving last week.Even was game enough to wear a short top (just above my short band) to which hubby approved of! Tanned torso with due thanks to MODEL CO INSTANT TAN.

CG- my vision of you chanting on your bike made me LOL as I was on my reformer doing pilates this morning.

FB- has hubby going? Be strong and supportive to him…. he will appreciate yourencouragement … it want be easy for him to give up the treats.

FLEMISH- I think we needed the hols to test us. Temptation was there , we had a taste or two… three. We did make some good food choices … but Honey, when it comes to those rum balls and crunchy pork crackle… well that’s another story.
We are now, all of us starting off fresh…….WE ARE AUSSIE DETERMINATION & WE CAN DO IT…… Happy fast day…..GO GAL

Good morning AUSSIE DETERMINATORS, The anniversary I attended went well yesterday. It wasn’t a fast day anyway but I knew with the set menu that I had less control. I had some grapes for breakfast, the anniversary meal for lunch and nothing else. This morning I am the same weight as before. Yay! I was thinking I may have gained again. I will remember this and do the same anytime I’m going to eat out, that is eat virtually nothing else all day.

Fasting today. Good to read that everyone else is doing well. All the best.

Hi all – I am a newbie. Hubby and I had a serious talk about health during our trip down to Melbourne (we are in our early 60’s) and have both decided to join the Fast Diet plan. First day today so ‘bring it on’. BTW, my tea of choice is licorice which has a slightly sweet taste – hope it is acceptable.

    Good Morning everyone,
I have had a lot of posts to catch up on. So much has been happening and I love that you all share so openly and honestly.
I must apologise for my lack of regularity in posting. I only get to catch up every few days depending on my work routine. It is constantly different. I like it when I am at work as I can leave you guys open in a little secret window and escape from what ever I may be doing.
I have had a good holiday season but really glad to have my routine back, be it somewhat out of the ordinary.
I am having a fast day today and hubby has decided to come along for the ride. It is our anniversary in March so we booked a cruise. Seems to be a bit of a theme. I have a goal of 75kg. I am 91.7 right now. I do not want to reach my gaol in 12 weeks, but would like to be well on the way by then. I would like to be down to a minimum of 85kg. There it is, out there in the universe. I think that is very doable and I am not setting myself up for failure.
Hope you all have a fantastic day. A bit cooler here in old Sydney town than yesterday…. 🙂

    Hi KrisAnne,
I have box of licorice tea in my cupboard that I had forgotten about, so I had a look to see if there was a nutritional panel. There is not, but I am sure it would be OK. I may give it a go myself as I have not tried it yet….

    Good morning everyone,
Have a very good method of losing weight, fast day or not! Had a gastro bug yesterday pm and it is still happening! Anyway, only the good die young so I will definitely be here for a long time.
Had annual bloods done this morning, fasting of course, so I am interested in seeing the results later this week. My health is my major concern but losing the weight is also a good thing.
I find that vege soups are a great filler. I have a soup maker/blender which is fabulous and, because there isn’t fat in the verges, I can eat it cold and really enjoy it. I also drink Coconut water which is supposed to be a super food.
Have a sunshine day one and all.

Hi there! I’ve just been reading this thread for the last hour and find it really encouraging, so I’ve decided to join in! These last few months have been bad weight-wise and around Christmas I discovered that I don’t fit in to my jeans anymore (booo…) Time to take action.
Just started the 5:2 diet this week so I am a complete newbie and today is my first fast day ever. KrisAnne, we are in the same boat! Thought it was quite tough late morning but now it’s actually ok. I need to find some nice flavoured teas to keep me going though… At least it’s nice and sunny in Melbourne!

Hello there. I am also fairly new, started 5:2 two weeks before Christmas and it has been worthwhile. I have a long road ahead but I think this is a very safe and positive way for me. A day is only 24 hours and is attainable.
On my fast days I do use cold vege soups, home made, and they are very filling. Then I think of tomorrow and it is all possible.
    Keep at it.
    Sunshine and blur skies???

    Welcome newbies
And very good advise already Mimsnewworld.
Allyatsea, you are right. This thread is full of supportive people and there are couple of us doing this for over 3 months now.
Honestly, you are already a step ahead when you decided to start this WOL straight after you realized that jeans do not fit. I got to start this after going up couple of sizes. I just kept on changing the jeans rather than changing the way I eat.
For your first fast day, try delaying eating as long as you can, when you get hungry, a boiled egg with some lettuce or green salads may be a good option too.
For Teas, if you like cold teas, try some of Lipton’s fruit teas. Right now I am sipping on Lipton forest fruit tea. 1 tea bag in 500 mls of water and I refill water sometimes as well. really tasty.
If you are interested in Green teas, then you may like to try Lipton’s Green gunpowder tea. Doesnt taste like green tea at all. To me that’s the best green tea that I have ever had. And Tea 2 has some great teas as well but obviously little more dearer than regular teas from super markets.
And yes, Green gunpowder is not available at woolies, only available at Coles. (I am assuming that you are in Aus, so mentioned abt our supermarkets 🙂 )

Hi team and welcome welcome to all our newbies. This WOE is addictive, the WOL just so healthy and doable. You will find it becomes second nature for you before too long, you become so conscious about food choices, your appetite will start to shrink, start using a smaller plate for your meals and you find you don’t need any more, old habits and training do start to leave you, you will enjoy the healthier eating, you will question yourself, “Do I really want that” before you eat treats, and apart from the added bonus of weight loss, you will feel so much healthier. You may get the odd headache, drink more water, you may be a bit sleepless but that will pass, your body is actively working on the fats in your cells. Get up and make a warm drink but you will sleep. It’s all a case of readjustment and doesn’t take long at all, if you get the chills, just have a hot tea, although should’t be a problem this time of year. You will find you have more questions the longer you are with us and the team will come to your rescue with answers and advice so please ask. It’s wonderful to see so many back on deck with our way of life at AUSSIE DETERMINATION you all know from past experience YOU CAN DO IT, it’s just a matter of getting back to the ol’ routine 😆 so happy fasting team, don’t give up newbies, it does work, very well in fact, so just stick with it, plateaus are a way of life but pass so don’t get too disheartened… Take care, and enjoy ….CG xxxx 😀

    Hi everyone
I too am a newbie who has looked at this forum over the last couple of weeks but waited until after my holidays before posting. I have done the ‘Dukan’ diet and got to below my goal weight but couldn’t do the maintenance and then put on a few kilos again. I’m sick to death of ‘protein only’ days and think this would suit me much better. I’ve done a couple of fast days an don’t find them too difficult at all
Looking forward to sharing this WOL with you all 🙂

Welcome to Mimsnewworld and krisnna and allyatsea

    Great support everyone!

FAST DAY today….not a problem drinking fluids here in Perth today it is 11.00am and already 31C outside. We are heading for 41C.

So the plan is to cool down and catch up on some movie time while treating myself to a mango later on after dinner. If I get hungry I have boiled eggs and fresh salad ready to go . At the moment I am full of Roobois tea and water..

Have a easy FAST DAY to anyone who is fasting today…WE CAN DO THIS!!!

    Just missed your post judyf…welcome.

This is very DOABLE way of life…we all want to be be able to enjoy life and 5:2 is definitely the way!

Hi all, just back from a drive up to Mt Tamborine and a little bushwalking. My daughter was with me and she is fasting too. We went to a cheese factory(!!!!) and I tasted slivers of about 4 cheeses and bought some. My daughter was staunch. I will reduce the rest of my day to 400 calories to make up for it as I have no idea what the count is.
We went to a cafe and ogled the treats as we moved along but when it was our turn, my daughter said “2 coke zero’s, thanks” and crisis was averted once more.
Arrived home and my husband has backed off from the fast for today however I will continue. Cheeses won’t be opened for a while so that should be OK. I will save them for entertaining.( Note to self. Don’t send out any invitations for ages!)
    Cheers!

That-a-girl uptight, your show of will power will reward you, did you feel your AUSSIE DETERMINATION working??? …. Take care CG xxx

Hello! I have been reading your posts for the last few days and have started the New Year off with a resolution to lose weight. Ordinarily I really don’t like the idea of resolutions however I am always wanting to lose weight and never doing it so maybe saying it out loud in the form of a resolution will help! I am going to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in June and simply will not get up that hill with the amount of weight I am carrying at the moment so I am hoping to lose 10 – 15 kgs by June. Currently 94.2 kgs and I fasted yesterday.
I’ve been getting lots of tips from you all re: diets for Fast Days so thank you all already for the help! I look forward to sharing the journey with you all 🙂

Hello everyone and happy fasting day to those that are fasting! Welcome to our new members, this is the place to be if you want support and friendship as well as feeling healthier and lighter 🙂

Quite warm here in Albany, but not as bad as Perth vegiemama! Yikes…..

Have had some great news today, my sister is giving the 5:2 a go and is fasting today. I’m really happy as we can support each other on fast days 🙂

Fasting today, having a bit of trouble, but I think, I KNOW it’s all in my mind….I CAN DO IT with AUSSIE DETERMINATION!

CG…..loved your bike story hehe…..keep it up…..GG a nicely tanned torso….oh the memories!

Good luck tomorrow Foxy, will be thinking of you, bet you don’t sleep tonight with excitement. 😆 …….CG xx

A BIG AUSSIE DETERMINATION WELCOME TO OUR NEW TEAM MEMBERS!!!!

Our founder CG will guide you as well as the other
    fabulous guys & gals.
FOXY one more sleep and your son will be with you …..Have a wonderful time with himxxxxx

I cannot wait for my dinner tonight! I am sooooo hungrey… Today fast was easy than yesterday …. yes…. I did a B2B . A few small teaspoons of yogurt did send the hunger pangs away.

    Enjoy your night……. GO GAL

Thanks CG & GG….yes I am really looking forward to his arrival…..he has requested two favourite things…..my roast chicken and a pavlova….makes me feel special to make them for him again 🙂

In answer to an earlier question CG….re the cheese…..there is no difference really, from what our instructor said, apart from the region where they are made and brie is traditionally made in a large wheel from which wedges are cut….of course you can have double & triple cream brie (my personal fav’s)….just a little tip when selecting your soft cheeses…..the riper they are, the better they taste, so look for ones close to their best before dates…and best enjoyed at room temp 😀

FC…..your mum would love a cheese making course if she loves cheese….the camemberts & bries are surprisingly easy to make and you can make around 6 – 8 for the price of a good one!

Welcome to all the newbies. I was one only 5 weeks ago. You’ll do very well with the support from everyone on this forum. I’ve found it very encouraging.

Today (a fast day) I went to the movies with my daughter. I had celery sticks, cucumber slices and 4 strawberries while she had popcorn, chocolate and lemonade. I think I got the better end of the deal health-wise and money-wise!

HERE!HERE!GG1 you received the best all round…… You had 1 on 1 time with your daughter enjoying a movie. Lucky you… Mine is away and I miss her so!……GO GAL

Well done GG1! That’s Aussie Determination for you! I went movies with hubby on Saturday and we saw The Water Diviner…..what did you go and watch?

I’m also going to see The Hobbit when my son gets here…..he has waited to watch it with me 🙂

LOL …. Sorry GG1. I do not have children (sadly), I miss my Mum (she is away os) and having such lovely times with her.

ARE you OK CG?… I have no secrets,I tell you all!……GO GALXXXXXX

Yes after your private email, my heart is beating normally again 😆 .. Xxxxx

NOW I’m really rolling on the floor!…… Your bike riding and chanting are supposed to make your heart jump outa your chest. XXXX….. GO GAL

    Hi,
At the tail end of the fast day. Hubby did well for his first fast day but has gone to bed with a headache.
This is my first one for the year and had no problem. I find it easy if I keep busy but a problem if I have idle time.
    Take care everybody…..:-)

    Hello ladies and gents,
Newbie here – first day of fasting! I have a wedding dress to fit into in 6 1/2 weeks (eeep!!!) and just need to trim about 3 cms off the waist. From everything I have read, this seems to be the healthiest way to do it!
Today I have learned – be prepared! Properly! Little wedges of cream cheese are NOT as low calorie as I thought! So I hit up the supermarket tonight – celery and carrot for the next fast day, which will be Thursday.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone notice a cm drop in the first weeks? Make a gal happy and say yes 🙂

    Cheers
    Shela

FB, I never thought last January that I would spend my Summer Holiday without packing an extra pair of leggings with every outfit. It was a distant dream at that point and I managed it against all expectations. I top am a classic pear. I always wear 2 or 3 sizes bigger on the bum/thighs than on the top. Chafing alone was a huge problem, but regardless I’ve bever before felt comfortable enough in my body to go bare-legged in Summer.

Lol GG, bringing up those rum balls again. I WILL make some ons of these days, my bourgundian curiosity is killing me 🙂

Foxy, I hope you have a marvelous time, I’m excited for you. And I’m seriously considering checking out those cheese-making classes here. All this cheese talk is giving me cravings on my FD.

GG1, strawberries at the cinema sound devine. It’s splendid idea, though it might be hard sneaking those in surreptitiously as outsider snacks aren’t usually allowed at Belgian theatres.

Welcome, newbies! Hope you find the support you are looking for over here.

Shela, I didn’t start measuring myself until 4 or so months in so I can’t really Day but I started dropping weight instantly and I started fitting into my clothes better instantly as well so I’m pretty sure I died lose inches right away. That said, for some people it takes a while for the body to show physical changes. They of ten do feel a whole lot healthier off the bat, so there’s that. I think you’ll have to wait and see how your body reacts.

Keep it doing, everyone! It’s 2.20pm here and I’m fighting a slight hunger pang. Nothing major, I’ll be over it in 20 minuten or so :). I love being able to control my hunger cues now.

Good morning team. Before Xmas my official weigh in was 83.0 I blossomed out to 86.0 over the two festive week of Xmas, stringent cal control over the weekend then fasted yesterday, sneek peek this morning and down to 82.5k so back on track. Oh how we love our AUSSIE DETERMINATION and our woe, wol…. My plateau has broken as 83 seemed to last for weeks, but as we all keep saying STICK WITH IT, it does work! I know it’s not weighin day but like most of us, I weighin each morning to keep track, hay, maybe my bike riding is helping?
Our thoughts are with all the people caught up in the fires in SA we are getting this heat Australia wide, awful fire season and only just the beginning. Our summers are so much hotter and dryer than in the past. WA is copping it too. Country Vic is still quite green but with most of them the haying is being done, shortens the grass allowing it to burn off in the sun so paddocks are getting the yellow white colour and starting to dry out. Please take care out there be alert where ever you are.
Normal eating today, so enjoy the things forbidden yesterday, just be mindful of food choices, keep the fluids going, they do flush your system, enjoy a wine or two if you wish, but everything in moderation including chocolate bikkies! As much as 5:2 is our wol I find careful choices and being concious of cals from Mon- Fri is extremely helpful, then let your hair down a bit over your weekends. We do only fast (generally) two days a week, but your awareness of choices on other days does go a long way in stableising your intake. Your all doing so well, our new members will find it getting so much easier with each fast in fact you egin to look forward to them. Don’t forget if the scales don’t drop, check you measurements because the are usually cm’s smaller!
Have a great day team, stay cooool! 😛 …CG xxx

Forgot to say, start setting yourself some doable goals, I do it in 5k increments but no real time limit as that can be deflating but when each mini goal is reached it almost as good as winning lotto! Be good to yourself, don’t sweat the small stuff, it’s a waste of energy, good luck team, your health will reward you… CG 🙂 xxx

Wow, CG, you went under that pesky 83? That’s brilliant! Sometimes, all you need to do to break through that plateau is add a few good holiday binges (apparently O_o). I think we were all scared of gaining loads of weight over the holidays (and the scales told us to be scared, too). But it seems the majority here just struggled with sugar- and salt-induced waterweight. How excited you must’ve felt to get rid of that 3 at the end, especially after getting back up to 86, we all know how annoying that is. Congrats, girl, you’re doing so splendidly!

This is the best program ever.

Went up 3.5kg over Christmas New Year period. disappointed, but fixable. I think the alcohol was my biggest undoing. My waist measurement went up by 6cm

Today after a fruit and veg filled Sunday and Fast Monday and back to gym 1.6 kg gone. In two days
    The bloat disappearing.

So I can fix this in a couple of weeks. Yeh

Such an inspiration to stay on track. Normally about now I would have lost the plot and thought I had blown this and continued on my Christmas eating.

Glad to see everyone else is fixing there indulgent Christmas.

I am pushing now to go under the 100 by mid March.

CG well done under 83kg you are an inspiration.
