  • HA I ate half of that meringue πŸ™ – no cream or fruit (so it could’ve been worse) – it was delicious. I’ve been in the confessional aka MFP to log my half cup of sugar. Ha, still not too bad re tdee AND I can now jump tall buildings with a single bound. I bet I could jump the Atlantic Ocean and share some with you, Fit! It has been a rather carby day here, too. We’ll be good tomorrow.

SJ we didn’t have the eggplant, instead shared some BBQ with friends. Thank heavens for protein. So maybe the rotolo Tuesday night if the eggplants can be patient πŸ™‚

Barb yes you CAN DO IT. You have Aussie Determination and 5:2 just stick with it and you will do great. Do not make any Pavlova! Probably best not to try Milena’s version of a liquid diet either (or PH’s cleaning tips hahaha).

CG I have a feeling you’d never be satisfied with a leisurely walk – it’s great that you told your trainer about glutes, because the more you work those babies the better you’ll feel and the more agility you’ll have. I’m not a no-pain-no-gain exerciser, but sometimes it’s what works.

Oh thank heavens for 5:2 and sanity tomorrow – good luck to all you Aussies getting it done today, see you in the clean eating zone. xxx
ps: Doggy are the fires better? I saw they were still fighting them – take care xx
pps: Hi Bert sorry to hear the circumstances but thank goodness you and your family can work it out and be OK with it – nice to have a sweet MIL πŸ™‚

Just popped in for a quick look. Some great posts but no time to answer. Water only so far and feeling good. Think I’ll have my Hard Boiled egg soon though and as it is overcast here today and a little cooler will have one of SJ’s vegemite soups . Have not tried one year. Hope everyone is doing well what I their FD. We can do this.πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Hi team, how are you all going, are you in control, are you holding those reins, are you using your AUSSIE DETERMINATION! You should be because you know YOU CAN DO IT we are shoulder to shoulder and YOU ARE NOT ALONE☺️
I haven’t eaten as yet, 5:30pm just fluids, stirfry planned for dinner, but not really hungry. I know when I eat, it wakes that hunger dragon who want more more more! Not so much with appitite, just gurgles whilst it wriggles aroung😈 but it aint gonna win, not today ☺️xxxxxxxxx

Thanks for checking in. So far so good CG. Just half a tomato and a boiled egg. I am looking forward to dinner though. You are right I wasn’t really hungry until I had lunch at 1pm. Very strange, the first FD is was nearly climbing the walls hanging out for the time to go. Barb xx

Barb, you find most of them get easier as time goes on πŸ˜ƒ you may still get the odd one when your hearts not in it, so don’t force it, fast the next day, 5:2 is so flexible and still works πŸ˜€ glad your doing well, it’s 6:15 and I still haven’t eaten, but stirfry all cut up and ready to go. Makes the evening shorter too if I eat late🌷xxxxx

CG. Going well not eating anything till 6.15. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘My hunger pangs would not be satisfied with water around 5pm. Had one HB egg and some cucumber then a cup of vegemite soup. Pleased with that though. Now feeling the hunger and can’t wait till dinner . Feeling very pleased with myself. 😊😊😊😊

Barb. Well done you. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ As CG says they get easier the more you do them. Hope everyone else is also doing well.

PH that’s great, and the problem with eating, we just want more before too long! I think it’s our mouth as much as our tummy😟 You have done exceptionally well as has BarbπŸ˜ƒxxxxxx

That’s what I am hoping for CG it’s 7:50pm and I have chicken breast (77g) and steam veges. Followed by diet jelly. Thanks PH good luck to you too 😘😘😘 B

Barb that’s perfectπŸ˜ƒ well done but don’t expect every fast to be this easy, but it’s good training of what you can doπŸ˜‰πŸ’xxxxxx

Finished the day at 440 so all good on that front. Just watched the Australian of the Year Awards. So many people do such great things. Young and old. Makes your heart happy that there is still so much care and concern happening all over the place. More of the stories of these wonderful people should make up the. Nightly news. There should be a rule that every news program should have a feel good story. That would make everyone have more hope. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜•

Well keen to try out my new bed so nite nite all πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ’€πŸ’€

    Hi All!
Looks like we’re getting the tail end of the blizzard that hit the U.S, but once it crosses the Atlantic it will turn to rain……don’t know if that’s worse. My heart goes out to all those who have been flooded out of their homes and land in the last month or two.
CG, no wonder you’ve lost so much weight….you’ve showered it all away!πŸ˜ƒ I’m sure between your trainer and the massages, your leg will be much improved. It is fatal to mention any aches or pains to trainers or physics…they get perverse pleasure tackling them!
Barb, I think one of the things we all have to learn is how to manage our eating when we’re away from home or out of our routine. It is possible….make healthy choices, watch portion sizes and don’t get derailed by wine etc when eating out at night. At the same time, it is possible to enjoy meals out, treats etc as long as we keep our TDEE in mind…..no one wants to be the spoilsport at the table, saying “I can’t eat that or that etc”. Also, if your fasts just stop you from gaining on a trip away, then that’s a win as far as I’m concerned. So, best foot forward, you can do this! I’m sure you can reach your goal in time for your holiday 😎
Bert, you sure have been busy! How wonderful that you want to take on minding your MIL. I hope all goes as well as possible and that it proves rewarding and enriching for you all xx
Ok, gang……time to tackle some of my projects for today…..cleaning out the car (still full of pine needles after recycling the Christmas trees), cleaning my daughter’s bedroom before she comes home again, ironing and anything else I have the energy for to keep me occupied and away from the kitchen πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ˜‡πŸ˜·

Oops! Didn’t see that we had turned the page!
PH, great job on managing your hunger pangs so well, good job πŸ‘ Yes, it is lovely to have our faith in humanity restored. πŸ˜‡β€οΈβœŠπŸ‘
Jade, good damage limitation with the meringue! Yes, glad to be fasting myself today too……isn’t it funny how our systems have changed and we don’t enjoy feeling full or bloated from so-called ‘normal’ eating. I’m looking forward to feeling cleaned out again. How strange is that?
Barb, great job on your fast day too, you really are in the swing of things now! Keep up the good work πŸ˜€
So, I have my fd meal already cooked since yesterday…….half a baked salmon fillet, loads of veg but no potatoes and carrot sticks front and centre of the fridge (thanks for that tip, SJ!) Going to be a great day, I can feel it in my waters!πŸ˜‰

Bert I did miss saying how wonderful it is of you to take your MIL in to,live with you. She is so lucky to have youπŸ’žπŸ’—πŸ’ž
FIT. Have a great FD, stay strong and busy..YOU CAN DO THIS πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Thanks everyone for the welcome and advice. I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for a while now and also have been using a Fitbit since September. I’ve lost 15kg on my own just reducing my calories and have been averaging 11,500 steps a day. I’ve been doing well. I reckon I’ve been mentally channeling my constant craving thing into obsessive tracking so I get to think about food all the time but in a way that is geared to weight loss. However if constant craving is me then long term I figure just tracking will not solve my issues. My first fast will be Thursday and then Monday. With Australia Day and annual leave this week I did not want to set myself up to fail so I decided to wait till I go back to work. I found a nice recipe for a veg curry and that will work out at 372 calories which I will split between lunch and dinner. I’ll then have my poached egg and toast for brekkie as a good brekkie sustains me till lunchtime at work. I did the calcs on my normal calories and it’s 1850 a day. Currently I eat 1550 and am comfortable at that amount. My question is do I have to eat the full 1850 on non fast days? On fast days I understand I eat 1/3rd which is around 600. I can easily make it 500 but is that ok?
I would like this to be a long term lifestyle but have like 50+ kg to lose and I am currently on prenisone long term which is no help at all. The drugs make weight loss difficult but I struggle on. Hopefully I will only need to be on the steroids for a few more months. Fingers crossed.
    Cheers
    Anne

    Hi AA,
You are indeed doing well….terrific in fact! Yes, I think you should eat close to your TDEE on non fast days but keep to 500 on fds, if you find that easy to do. Brilliant amount of steps each day too, you are well on the road to success! πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ό
PH, doesn’t like you got off to sleep straight away, hope you finally managed a good night’s rest 😴
Well, the driving rain has arrived here but I got the car hoovered out before it arrived, so that was fortunate!
Best of luck to all, whatever your endeavours for the week ahead xx

Hey Fit, sorry to send the storm your way – dodging raindrops is great cardio though πŸ™‚

It is so great to wake up and find all this wonderful fasting chatter, like I’m the tail end of a comet. Good advice CG re the “odd FD when your heart’s not in it.” I need to find the odd weekend when my heart IS in it, but turning the page each Monday is a fresh start. Thank goodness for you all and 5:2 to pull me back to the healthy path when I jump in the weeds.
Good luck Annie!! As you can see already, great tips and help here, and lots lovely chats to boot.
Hey PH who was Australian of the Year? Agreed about the news, sometimes I almost forget there is much kindness in the world.

My veggies and I are ready for the workday, gotta run, my laptop says it’s about to reboot for an update.xxx

Hi Jade, apology accepted…..but I would prefer other forms of cardio, thanks! I found I was very cranky again today on fd but not too cold as it’s milder this week. I finally decided to have a coffee and one biscuit, and hey presto, my mood has improved! I am coming to the conclusion that it’s sugar withdrawal that causes the bad humour. I eat far too many biscuits on non fds although they’re usually weight watchers. I’m doing well so far, apart from the one bikkie, I’ve only had some carrot sticks. It’s almost 4.30pm and I think I’ll be ok now until I have my dinner this evening….hopefully after 7pm. Hope you had a good day too xx

Well done, Fit – sounds like you threaded the needle expertly! One biscuit = fine. Package of biscuits, red alert! I obviously need to carry an emergency straitjacket.

I’m glad the bikkie improved your mood – no sense making FDs a total misery, right? I’m pretty happy so far with my coffee and splash of cream, but now I have an impromptu lunch that may interfere with my saintliness. I will at least try to avoid the sugar!
Sending good strength vibes to replace the rain – we have it still too. Ugh – winter blues. But smooth sailing till bed I hope! I’ll be right behind you. xxx

Thanks Jade, I’m behind you all the way. We don’t deny ourselves, we just take control of the choices and portions and away we go again! Lots of housework done again today…..I’m betting that by the time my OH gets back, he’ll need sunglasses to cope with the sparkling surroundings πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ƒ Hope your weather settles down and stay strong in your sugar avoidance πŸ’ͺ✊😷

    HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!
OH and I are celebrating in the most wonderful of ways.
Our Dr and his family are becoming AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS.He has become a dear friend over the past years and we are very honoured to be invited to witness and celebrate this speacial day with him.
The ceremony will take place at the RSL Club which is a big venue in Forster.
How are all of you spending the day?….are the lamingtons and pavlova made….the barbie cleaned and ready to go, the lamb and sangers wanting to be smothered with tomatoe sauce, salad and bread rolls the wine ,beer in the ice.
Thongs and t shirts at the ready for the backyard cricket matches.
HAVE A FABULOUS DAY TEAM ………GO GAL XXXXX
    HAVE A FABULOUS DAY TEAM

Aussie Aussie oi oi oi πŸ˜ƒ HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY team
GG what a lovely day for you and your Dr and his family, they must feel very proud.
No matter what you do today team, feel the pride, we are Aussies and are unique with so much to be proud of…coooooeee!
Lot’s of conversations over night and great to see. You seem to get so much rain Fit, no wonder Ireland is always green when I see docos of itπŸ˜€ and staying busy on your fast day is the secret to keeping us from obsessing on food, well doneπŸ˜‰
Annie, once you get your head around 5:2 and do your first fast, it will be easier to understand and you will take it in your stride. You don’t need to eat all your TDEE but don’t go over it. Stick with 500 on fast days and maybe under once you get used to it 😊
Jade stay strong, get your head in the right place and your fast will just flowπŸ˜ƒ
PH, I bet your new bed was a dream to sleep on and agree, I too think all news services should end with a happy/positive story, we have a beautiful world, it is not all gloom and doom 😊
My fast went extremely well and my sleep pattern has returned to normal, I’m finding the hot chocolate works as does the decafe coffee, but a sore body and muscles as well as busy days probably make falling into bed of a night just what the doctor ordered.
Enjoy the day team whatever you do, it’s your day, make it countπŸ˜€πŸ’xxxxxxxx

Happy Australia Day all you amazing ladies! Thanks for opening your generous hearts to all us honorary aussies too. I think that sums up your country’s character. πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘β€οΈ
GG, what a terrific way to celebrate your national day and such a thrill for you to be invited. Enjoy all the celebrations πŸ§πŸ°πŸ’ƒπŸ’πŸ”πŸΎπŸ·πŸΈ
CG, delighted to hear you’re back to sleeping better, it makes you feel like you can tackle anything. Yes, we get alot of rain and it can be depressing sometimes but it does make for our famous ‘forty shades of green’ in the countryside.
I’m happy with my fd today so I’ll try not to wreck my hard work on the non fds. Enjoy your special day, ADers…… I can’t toast you today because I’m fasting but I’m raising a glass of water instead!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜˜

Lots of lovely pep talk good to hear all are in good spirits even though the spirits might just be waterπŸ˜•πŸ˜• Happy Australia Day πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Jade our Australian of the year is a man called David Morrison who has a passion for gender equality among other great attributes. He put himself out there in a number of UTube videos on gender equality in the forces. He basically told them to Shape up Or Get out.. He was high up in the Army at the time Very big stance as a gender problems were thought to be coming from those in charge. He will be great in this role and a good person to follow Rosie Batty as he has vowed to continue her work on Domestic Violence. And he will lead the charge to equal pay for women among other things. Wonderful man…

Happy Australia Day all. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ»πŸ»πŸΎπŸΎ

Morning folks Happy Australia Day! PH our Australian of the Year sounds like just what our country needs (and many others of course!. And so totally agree with the good news story in the news too. OH loves to read out the big news stories to me & I’ve had to say to him Look sorry but I don’t really want to hear more news like that.
Fit a glass of water in celebration will do just fine! Stick to that FD & then follow through with good habits on your NFD’s. You’ll notice a difference.
Oi Oi CG good to hear the change to hot choc & decaf coffee is giving you a good night’s sleep. Excellent.
GG you’ve managed to fit in all the quintessential aussie icons into your post! Hope it’s a great day for you and your dr friend.
Jade hope you avoided the sugar and managed to hit the sack a happy lady after a successful FD?
AA you’ve done really well to lose 15kg just on your own – brilliant work and especially your Fitbit and activity. So you’ve already got lots of things sorted which is great! You’ll do fine. So Thursday is your first fast & you’re already prepared for it. Yeah for you!! Your using our 4 P’s – Plan Prepare Persist and Persevere. One of these will always get you there! And good to see that you’re already being flexible around days like Australia Day or anything else that pops up.

Off to enjoy a yhummy breakfast after FD1. Enjoy your day all. Hope you have some lovely aussie weather with sunshine good enough to have a BBQ. Thinking I MIGHT make a pav after all our talk or maybe a lamington roll. Found some mini pavs with a lemon creme fraiche on top that were 172 cals – pretty good, & creme fraiche is just as nice as cream but lower in cals. We’ll see…I don’t want to tempt the hunger dragon inside too much! suejen XXXX
PS maybe just anzacs would be better but then I can eat a lot of biscuits when I get going! Ah choices….choices but hey…at least with 5:2 we GET TO MAKE THE CHOICES πŸ™‚

We have this hill that’s oh so steep
It’s known to haunt me when I sleep
Why’d you climb I hear you say
Tis so on Fridays when I weigh
That numbers are not up but down
For that would be a cause to frown
So every morn that hill I climb
To help achieve a shape sublime!!

Happy Australia Day team. Yesterday my son reminded me that it’s now 35 years since we moved to this great country. Both he and our daughter went to school and Uni here and we now have four Aussie grandchildren. Hubby and I are going to have a quiet day but will be having a beautiful fresh Tasmanian crayfish( lobster ) with our supper tonight. Our family all live in Melbourne but we chose to retire here as it is a very beautiful part of the world. I’d suffered quite a long bout of ill health before we moved here. The friendly people and relaxed lifestyle have restored my health and this has no doubt started my weight gain issues. I’d rather be a few kilos overweight than return to the years of chronic back pain.
AA keep,up the good work. Just think small steps and do one week at a time. Looking at many years ahead and a lot of weight to lose can prove daunting. We prefer not to mention the diet word. It’s just become a WOL & WOE – way of life and way of eating for us. It’s hard when you obsess about food all the time. Try to eat low GI foods so that you don’t get a spike in our Insulin levels which can cause hunger.
My FD went well yesterday but I did get very peckish about 4.30 pm. I must have drunk a few litres of water so that I could last out till supper time. On Thurdsay I’m going to have a brunch instead of brekkie and lunch. In the meantime I plan to enjoy today and moslty just take things easy after braving the supermarket again this morning.
    XX Doggy.

Nice one DoggyπŸ˜ƒ love the poem and so glad your health has returned, you have been here a lot longer than other Aussies so congratulations in staying and loving our beautiful country β˜ΊοΈπŸŒ·πŸ’—xxxxx

Happy Australia Day wonderful Aussies! Hear, hear to what Fit said – your country’s character is reflected in how warmly you welcomed all of us honorary Aussies. Thanks PH for the explanation on Mr. Morrison – so great when someone with power chooses to use it to help others instead of just himself. And GG I hope the ceremony for your doctor friend is lovely. I hope all the rest of you are enjoying the day, the celebrations, the lamingtons (I have had those they’re yummy!), the Pavs, and whatever else the day offers.

I’m celebrating with you all by being strong and using my best Aussie determination not to celebrate with food πŸ™‚ so SJ, I have the hunger dragon chained up in my basement and I pinky-swear not to let him loose. I ended up having a light lunch (soup) with a friend, so dinner had to be super light. I fixed sauteed cabbage, waved a sausage over it, and then gave the sausage to OH with a bun and chips, and apple pie. Yum, cabbage! 470 cals with just a few hours left. Weeee!

Class prep calls, big hugs to all – xxx
–oops Doggy we crossed, love the poem!

    Happy Australia Day!!

    Sounds wonderful.

Just finished Burn’s Night, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties – with a brandy sauce instead of a whiskey sause – terrible.

Exhausted from catching the Haggis, so good I could eat once a year! Actually the veggie version is lovely. Son had Haggis on Toast.

Love the idea of getting the Barbie out in January – some years ours isn’t out at all in the summer, though the weather is so warm at the moment, it feels like summer! Better than Summer actually,

Now I am craving Anzac’s sj….thanks for mentioning them! Mmmmmm….πŸ˜‰xxxx

Make the most of it Milena, ALL our weather is changing, even my garden is having trouble deciding weather it should start shedding leaves for Autumn! ☺️xxxxxx

The daffodils are coming through – I used to go to London and be quite shocked that they were in bloom in early March, usually well into April here, but this year they will be open before the end of January.

Interesting changes, but the Thames froze regularly a couple of centuries ago – and parts even froze in 1963.

I’m hoping that the decrease in garden birds will stop, they seem to be fairing well so far this year.

Hi all. Wonderful to read all the great posts and actually have time to reply. Have had a lovely morning watching everyone planting Australian natives in daughters yard. There must be an overseer for every job!
Then swung by the shops on the way home and got a hot BBQ chook, some potato salad and a nice fresh bread roll for lunch. Yummy…have not had it for ages. And I bought a lovely small custard tart to share for supper tonight. it will be interesting to see the cals I have left for dinner, but did not have breakfast. Just coffee at daughters for morning tea. Think I’ll work it out and then get back to you..πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Hahahaha PH, you will never guess what I made for my OH……..vanilla slices from Lattice biscuits, topped with icing and coconut. They look sooooo yummy. I didn’t even have a lick of the spoon. 😩😩😩 mind you if someone had said go on, just a little taste I think I would have weakened. Just going to relax now and read a good book. Enjoy your day/evening everyone. Barb xxx

That all comes to just 761 cals. Including the custard tart for later. Still have 900 odd remaining. Never going to be able to eat that much. Finding 1600 cals hard to consume and my TDEE is 2000. Oh well. Will give it a shot.

FIT. well done girl with your FD. We can do this!! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Aussie Annie. My hat goes off to you. You will find this way of life sustainable and hopefully you can continue to lose weight at. Reasonable rate. I too lost quite a bit of weight before starting this program (13Kgs) Have lost another 9kgs since starting in September and still have quite a way to go. The best part of this is that you don’t feel deprived of anything as you can have it on non fast days.πŸΎπŸ·πŸ«πŸ§€ As long as you do it in moderation. I treat myself to Peters no added sugar ice cream as a treat with some fruit sometimes. 🍨🍨🍨My target calorie intake for MFP is 1690 so not far below yours. 500 cals is good to aim for on Fast Days and it has worked a treat for me. I understand about the medication as have been on that also. You have joined a great bunch of wonderful people on this forum and I have found them a great support group. Whenwe reach a plateau (and we all do that)everyone is there to give us a boost as most have them have lost a lot of weight and have been there..done that….I am planning to be on this journey for the rest of my life and feel that it is completely sustainable. No more losing weight and then putting it back on for this, little black duck. Stick with us and the sky’s the limit!!!πŸ›©πŸ”πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸ’—πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Jade. How did the improve lunch to..did you take the emergency straight jacket or just go with the flow? πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
GG . I imagine you are having a wonderful day with your very special doctor. EnjoyπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸ‘πŸ‘

Milena ..can’t bear the thought of eating haggis, we used to have a highland Ball in the little town I came from with regular old time dancing and Scottish whirls etc and they used to pipe in the haggis before supper. Could not bring myself to taste it though. Oh it was a wonderful night each yearπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

SJ you must be a great cook. Always whipping up something. Love homemade Anzac biscuits and a nice hot cup of tea. I’m with CG can imagine the taste right now….

Doggy. 35 years wow.. I admire people like yourself so much. Uprooting yourself from family and moving to another country. It must be a daunting prospect but so glad it has turned out good for your family. …and Tassie is such a beautiful place to retire to..not too far from Melbourne really to catch up with family. Love the poem..πŸ’œπŸ’œ

CG. So pleased your sleep has returned to normal. I had a little bit of trouble sleeping on a new mattress but love the firmness of it..makes so much difference to a dicky back..hope you are having a good day. Well better get off my butt and get something achieved. Got a couple of pairs of long baggy pants my daughter has borrowed from a friend for me to take a pattern from..so should get on with it..bye for nowπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

How come a small chicken breast has so much protein in it. I am only allowed 60g and that chicken breast is 52!!!! it always puts my over for the day on my MFP. Barb

Hi Barb, I eat a lot of chicken breast and fish, in fact I’m starting to look for gills and feathers! I do my fast day by counting backwards when working out the daily menu. I decide on my evening meal, which is usually 100g of chicken breast about 114cals, then work from that (salad or veg with it) calculate your evening meal, then see what you have left (to survive on) for the rest of your fast. 60-52 grams is not enough to fill you, protein should be higher to keep you fuller…. πŸ˜πŸ’xxxxx

PH it will probably take a few more nights to ” fall in love” with your new bed πŸ˜‰xxxx

Hi CG, it tells me my chicken breast is 195 calls for 77g . Have I got the wrong chicken?

Barb, mine says 100g=114 pretty much the same as tender loin chicken, it’s always been a pain with the different assessments, long long lists and all different, I go by that calculation, it comes up now each time when I type in chicken, it’s served me well, right or wrong! I have it with steamed veg or salad or stirfry with it πŸ˜‹ I still believe, there is no need to starve ourselves on fast days and if that is pretty much all your eating, your doing wellπŸ˜‰πŸ’xxxxx

I’m having a pork chop tonight, now that has huge calories in it, but fasting yesterday and tomorrow, need the feast famine effect to kick inπŸ˜‰

Barb. Just checked what I use..grilled chicken 4oz which equals 113 grams and that is 100 cals..then I add to that about 100 cals of vegetable or salad for my Dinner..making it 200g all up leaving 300 cals for the rest of the day..I think CG steams her chicken. I do the same as CG and work out my dinner and hard boiled eggs then see what is left..I just typed grilled chicken in the search and that came up does not specify breast.

I often dry fry it or dry bake it in the oven, maybe with a quick squirt of oil spray and a few herbs, lovely either way πŸ˜ƒ but I only type in chicken breast, as long as it”s not the BBQ supermarket one as thats pumped full of oils etc! Hope that all helps Barb…πŸ˜‰xxxxxxx

Thanks for the info girls. Skunds like a good way to organise you calorie count for the day. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Barb

I trust u r all having a great Australia Day. I think we have all done well from the posts I’ve seen. I did not have any pav to say no to but I did refuse a lamination. I did eat an Anzac bikkie as it is unaustralian not to and I had the calories to do it. Our little church had a picnic in the park at Glebe and I discovered that I’m a good bowler at backyard cricket. I’ve never joined in but feeling energetic with all the steps I’ve been doing, this time I stopped spectating and got physical. I took myself the makings of a lovely salmon and salad sandwich and just had water to drink. I had some treats which I made myself for the group but had steamed barramundi for dinner and still have a few hundred calories left. The barramundi fillets from Aldi are very good. I put it in the bamboo steamer with a tablespoon of kan ton Thai green curry meal base to tart it up and that with a sqeeze of lemon made the fish very tasty. Having made my FD veg curry I just did not feel like complicating dinner. FD is now tomorrow as I figured out we have our work Christmas lunch on Thursday (don’t ask – it’s stupid I know). I walked to our Aussie day lunch schlepping my backpack and chair and have hit my daily step target. So today has been good. I feel in control and I feel happy with how my body is changing with the exercise even though my weight has not moved for a week. I know it’s the steroids and I refuse to let that undercut my efforts. I will plug on regardless.
Hope your tomorrows are all good ones

hi all..finished up with 1450 cals so could not make the 1690 Even with 2 wines and 2 white peaches.

Well done on your cricketing prowess Annie. I have a trophy for the best catch at a social cricket day. Was sitting in the outfield in my chair with a drink in my hand and someone hit a six and I had time to put my drink down and take the catch. Did not even think I was playing. Those days were such fun.
    Nite nite all πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

CG. I did notice when I searched Coles BBQ chicken it was almost twice the cals of grilled chicken..wondered why. Thought it. Ist just be the skin.. Now I know. Was yummy though and hard not to eat the skin…

I read somewhere that the supermarket rotisserie chickens have a lot of grease through the meat itself. The basting apparently goes right through making them moist. Interesting isn’t it. Barb xxx
