  • Aargh, bloody phone!! Not sure what happened there… Any way , think I’m going OK on 5:2. Dietician said to drink lots of water and do 1 hr of exercise the day before weigh day. No documented research but her and get colleagues have noticed more weight comes off.! I’m gonna give it a go on my 4th fast day tomorrow!!!

Hi Wobblybitz,my dietitian wasn’t in favour of 5:2 so I am determined to prove that it works. She wanted me to eat low fat foods and give up what I enjoy, eg the odd biscuit or piece of chocolate. I know I can have those treats on my non fast days and that helps me to get through my fds. This is the way to go!!! 🙂

Jade – so glad to hear that the lecture went well; yes, it is one of the advantages of age that we become more comfortable with ourselves, acknowledging that we’re not perfect and that we don’t have to be! The sky won’t fall just because we don’t have all the answers.
WB – yes, you are doing more than ok!! Saw an interesting piece of research by Dr. Mosley last week showing that women lose more weight if they exercise after eating while men lose more if they exercise before eating….weird or what?
Noots – good to hear you’re doing so well too, keep up the good work!

Hi all. Interesting Fit what Dr. Mosley says about exercise and eating. I have Ostioarthrits so can’t manage any strenuous exercise. Also no heated pool available for swimming or water aerobics. I am able to walk though and most days have an hours walk before breakfast. I don’t like walking when it’s hot.
Barb what a pity about your iPad. I recently treated myself to a new one with maximum memory as I don’t like having to delete audiobooks etc to make more space. I gave my old one ( still in perfect condition ! To my grand daughter. I too would be lost without one.
Fit thanks for suggestions re Lewis. Both hubby and I are feeling quite stressed as he is a past master at manipulating things to suit him self. Last night we had another drama as he did not like the risotto I’d made for supper. I won’t elaborate but he would not eat it and I had to restrain myself from blowing my top.
Jade I too have a heavy foot when driving. I’m careful around towns and places where there are kids and animals but on our country roads like to put the foot down. I’ve not had a speeding ticket yet but watch this space!
I’ve boiled up a few eggs for my FD tomorrow. I also have enough protein and salads to make meals from. It’s not here too today but thankfully not as hot as in Victoria where you are CG and I see Melbourne is going for 41. That’s just awful. Hopefully there will not be anymore fires.
    Enjoy the day all.
    XX the dog.

You’re welcome Dawg – try not to let his behaviour get you stressed out. I know that’s easier said than done but be kind to yourself. Would it work to offer Lewis a choice of meal in advance, maybe three choices, and then agree which one he will eat and at what time? It’s great to be able to get out walking; it is a good all round exercise. There is more information on the website of Dr.Mosley’s latest programme ‘Trust me, I’m a doctor’ about exercises you can do at home for strength and flexibility. I’ve been trying to do some each day since I saw the programme; I can feel them using my muscles so I hope I will improve a little at least.

Hi Folks well my 3 FD plan for this week got put aside as we have to go to our nearest town for an app’t & we always buy lunch & a coffee. So I’m back to the usual Mon & Thurs. I could have stuck to my guns but not in a good headspace today so not challenging myself with that one. AS CG says 5:2 has to fit into our life not the other way around.
Gee Doggie you’re going through some stressful times with Lewis aren’t you. Do hope you have a straight forward day today & that things go more smoothly. If not I’d just be doing whatever you can to get through the rest of the time. Just sometimes it’s not worth pushing the point (whatever that is) when you’re the one who’ll be left carrying the drama.
Noots & WB I don’t think there’s many dietitians or nutritionists out there who support the 5:2 or ever will. It just gets classed in with the DIET category & so automatically gets the thumbs down. But it’s such a wrong attitude. Now I would agree with them that if we do 5:2 by fasting 2 days & then stuffing our faces on 5 days you’ve learnt nothing nor have you made any lasting changes to your eating habits & that’s their point with all diets. BUT …….if we make this a WOL & change our eating habits on 7 days that’s different. So that’s why the eating healthy foods, portion control & not feasting on feed days is vital too.
PH would love it if you could being me a pattern & explain how you made it to the reunion. Love to make one for each of my GD’s.
Wow CG so little sleep…don’t think I’ve ever had that bad a night. Have all the darn nana naps you like today, especially with that heat!! You still exude enthusiasm though for all of us.
Fit I can just see you hiding behind the door to your OH’s room….just waiting to dash in & grab the computer once he’s finished! Poor thing…you’re lost without your won aren’t you!

Well that’s about it from me. Will be leaving soon. Have a good day all. sj XXXX

Oh Dog that is such a frustrating thing – no doubt for everyone. God give you strength to get through it without blowing your top, wouldn’t do any good of course but so hard just to take it. One day at a time, and I hope smoother sailing to come.
Looking over the posts I have mental images of Aussies sprinting for the loo (I was in that group yesterday!) and SJ’s image of Fit crouching by OH’s room ready to nab the computer. Topped off by Bert’s brilliant description of Zumba – I had no idea, belly dancing, hip hop, lol no wonder it’s good exercise. Ha what a group. You all sure do brighten my day.
I really would like to get my ipad fixed – loved using it. So silly of me to poke a flyswatter through the screen, but hoping OH will get another for my birthday in a few months. Hope yours is better soon Barb.
Great job on the FDs all. Isn’t it great to be so flexible when plans come up. Each day on 5:2 is a clean slate, and SJ I agree. Regardless of conventional wisdom, this works in so many ways that it’s rather silly of them to discount it just because it’s different. It’s all about appetite control so I don’t get their problem with it – no one is dying from starvation.
Oh and Genie I have to make those banana pancakes! I saw that you posted them, such a simple recipe. Love bananas and eggs, so glad they finally discovered eggs won’t kill us.
Time to grit my teeth and watch some US politics – see you all on the flip side of the moon! xx

CG I’m sorry that you had such a bad night. Sleep deprivation really is the pits. Being a long time insomniac I have a few tips. I have an App on my iPad called “Sleep well” it’s a relaxation cum sleep inducing exercise that I play at night when I go to bed. You must use ear buds for it to work well. I quite often use it after lunch too just to help me destress. I also have an old iPod that has lots of audiobooks on it. One can set the timer for it to stop. I use it all the time. I find that if I listen to something like that, my mind is not going hither and thither and keeping me awake. I never listen to the radio at night as its too stimulating, especially Tony Delroy and his interesting topics. The Audiobooks I listen to I’ve heard a dozen times before so I’m not really concentrating on the story. It’s just a sort of white noise.
Thanks Fit and others re tips for Lewis. At the moment he’s with our lovely neighbour who has a super shed where he does his woodwork. He’s very patient and allows Lewis to make something. He really enjoys that.
We are having Tacos for supper. He enjoys adding various goodies to his meals so I thought that would go down well. Mind you if I allowed him to put tomato sauce on his risotto last night he probably would have loved it.!
    😄💤👹🍏🍒🍇🌭🍷🎻🎼
After adding the violin I remembered our granddaughter plays the violin. She brought it out and played us a tune while they were here and Pepper went ballistic. I think the pitch must hurt their ears. He barked and barked until she stopped and took it away.

    Hi all,
Doggy. I too feel for you. I’m guessing Fits suggestion that he gets a choice of what he wants to eat may work. I’m guessing it is very hard to go with the flow, but it is only for a while. Keep the strength there my friend.💕💕💕

Jade ..well done on the lecture..must admit to having a few speeding fines myself since I moved from the country to an area with more police. I had only had one speeding fine in the first 40 years of driving and that was just after we bought a better car than we were used too and could not believe if increased speed so quickly. Since moving near Coffs Harbour I have had 3 in 2 years. 💸💸💸💰💰. Going 70 & 72 in a 60..when I thought it was 80 ….bloody roadworks. Then the last one was a blatant grab at money..I was travelling to work about 6.30 and there was a 40k roadworks zone…now everyone knows the road workers don’t start until at least 7.30 so decided that they had forgotten to cover the signs up and cruised through at around 55 keeping my eye out. No one in site anywhere on the back road I was on, no workers, even no other cars…then just by majic a police car pulled out of a laneway. 🚓🚓🚓Obviously did not have his quota for the week#€¥#£¥€# . Use my cruise control everywhere now……and the kids are having a field day rubbishing their mum. Haha. 🙀🙀🙀😹😹

Well on my second Fast Day and after the hour in the pool..he did endurance exercises this morning with no slow time …..and I was pooped at the end. Came home and had a rest and woke up two hours later. Think it is the fact that I only had one normal day eating this week. However will keep going and rest lot today..no exercise tomorrow, just using the brain for Bridge. Have just had my two eggs and going well so far. Need to drink a lot of water today I think
I’m with you on the pancakes..plan to try them on the weekend.

SueJen. There is always next time for the 3FD week. Never miss an opportunity I say.. Enjoy!! Will
bring a pattern and instructions for you re the caps..thought you might like to make them for grandies…

Feeling for everyone having iPad and computer problems. 😨😨😨

Feeling for you in the heat CG. Hope you are in the house with the air-con running with the boys. I have mine going today as it is hot here also..nothing like you are experiencing though..💕💕

Have a great rest of the day and if anyone else is doing a FD …hang In there…you can do it. 🤗🤗🤗👏👏

Hi team, as expected, absolutely flaked as soon as I got home from the pool and a bit of shopping. Leah and Tegan are due tomorrow and Teegz is a vegatarian, and Leah is starting to follow a psorisis diet???? So between the two of them.mmmmmm…..they want to go for a picnic Friday to Wilsons Prom, Tidal River which is beautiful, but of course, no chicken broken into pieces, buttered roll etc….so thinking of making an asparagus quiche, no crust (flour…for Leah) also nice cold…..lentil /veggie burgers, (as finger food) and sweet corn risotto….(may be for Sat night) …… What a brain ache! At least 5:2 doesn’t cause this type of headache……so they arrive tomorrow Thursday and go Sunday morning, so the quiche and burgers, either of which we’ll have with salad tomorrow, can be eaten cold (as left overs) plus I have pawpaw ,mangoes, water melon, nectarines and grapes 😃 to take with us.
I put a chicken (for the boys) onto boil when I got home, and woke to a house full of smoke 😟, yep, boiled it dry!! Had to open the house up to let the smoke/steam out ( which lets the heat back in..)….oh golly, all because of not getting my beauty sleep! It’s 47 on my front deck, usually a bit hotter than out in the paddocks of course, and ready for an iced coffee. My planned fast went by the way side, I stupidly bought honey roasted cashews and opened them to put in a container, well after, 4-5 hand fulls, realised I was supposed to be fasting, bugger! Had’t had anything else, no breakfast as usual, so possibly they will work as roughage? The rest of the day will be light as in meals, salad for dinner, bit of fish or chicken, no lunch, not hungry thanks to the nuts I guess, so it will be a semi, besides, the planned meals for the next couple of days are 5:2 friendly too as in portion control with salads ☺️…….feel like I’m rambling……..better make a coffee and wake up, the day HAS to get better, thanks Doggy for the suggestion, you have mentioned that in the past, but tonight, a proper sleeping tablet, they gave me when first home from hospital, to get my sleeping pattern back to normal! Hang in there with Lewis, count the days down, remember, anything for peace ☺️ even finger foods are a good stand by with kids, cocktail franks? Party pies etc? Deep breath, walk away, via the fridge….fill up, big slurp….back to it ☺️ you can manage it ……😌
“Good friends are like the stars
    You don’t always see them
But you know they are there”💞
    Chat later team…💝xxxxxx

    PH, great hats! Very clever.

Doggie, I do feel for you. And no doubt Lewis is struggling with all the changes in routine. That is one of the hardest things for ASD people, they get very anxious when things are unpredictable and take comfort in their routines. I would be trying to keep as many things as possible the same as usual, like food. That stuff with the game is classic, your husband didn’t do it the same way so he lost the plot.

Does he have an activity that calms him? I have forgotten how old he is either in chronological age or developmentally.

The social stuff is just as important as the academics if not more so. He has to get used to changes in routine so it is good to challenge this but too many changes at once will just be stressing him. Good luck!

CG. Wow. 47 degrees..that is extreme… We just went outside to see if we could do some chores , too hot. But not nearly as hot as you are having, What a day you are having otherwise. Nothing worse than the burnt smell after you have boiled something dry stays In the house for ages…you are not attempting to make all of those dishes this afternoon are you? Perhaps an early nite is in order with trusty sleeping tablet so you wake bright and bubbly in the morning and do the cooking then?? It will be just wonderful to have your D & GD visiting, you must be so looking forward to it and a picnic sounds wonderful.
As you always say to us..don’t stress the small stuff..hang in there. 💕💕💕. Your fast day can wait. Make this a maintenance week . You don’t get your family coming to visit often so enjoy it to the fullest . You have not really had a holiday..just Christmas Day and even that contained a drama. .I’d say you are in need of a little relaxation…Have a couple of relaxing drinks… 🍹🍹 and chill out with the boys..the heat must be so draining you need to keep up those fluids.

Well lots of beaches closed, fear of lightening strikes! Can you believe 8 cases today of children being left in cars, IN THIS HEAT, beggars belief!
PH, all cleaned up, even wiped the fridge out before loading all the fresh fruit and veg, no, not cooking till the morning 😃 fresh start and a blissful sleep should do the trick 😉dishwasher just unpacked, and with this change pending, with horrific winds, no watering out there tonight, so yes, cold drink next to me and bum in chair relaxing 😊
Very excited about my girls coming, your right, I love having them, we are in constant harmony, I just love it…..so do the boys, they never know who to run to first 😋
Still haven’t eaten, might have a bit of fruit out of the fridge later, so still don’t know if I should class today as a fast or not. The scales will tell me in the morning 😏 so for a hot day, I’m quite organised, even fed everyone in the paddock……enjoy the evening team, better batten down all the hatches before this dangerous change hits ….💝 xxxx

Hi CG, thanks for checking up on me. Glad your grandkids are spending time with you,I’m sure you’ll rise to the challenge of their finniky eating habits. Feel for you with the heat low headed across your way. It is predicted to hit the East coast up our way in a few days time. I won’t be leaving the aircon. You’ll be in the windy change by then. Stay safe.

Fit, GG, Purple (speedie Gonzales!), SJ, Dawg, UP, Jade, Noots ‘n’ wobbly! and all I’ve missed. Hope all is well with you. Taking a mo to boil my eggs for tomorrow. Fasting has been going well so far. Am so engrossed in what I’m doing I forget to eat anyway. Keep the faith. love to all xxGyps

Nice to hear from you Gyps.. Love. Speedy..🚨🚨

    Hi All!
SJ – just brushing up my ninja moves for a sneak grab and run with the OH’s computer while he’s off visiting his mum!! You’re so right to put yourself first and treat yourself kindly. Mon and Thurs fasts are your routine and routine is often comforting; so go with that and enjoy lunch out – it’s still possible to do that without going over board. Hope you’re feeling better soon xx
Jade – just saw some of Obama’s last address to the nation; how sad to think that his presidency is coming to an end – he will be a hard act to follow!
Dawg – that’s good that Lewis has something to occupy him and that you have such an understanding neighbour. Take the chance to have a breather yourself. It’s a wonderful thing that you are giving Lewis’ parents a break too; I’m sure they are very grateful.
PH – well done on getting through the pool exercises and hope you enjoy the bridge….you are keeping the balance right; looking after both your body and brain….brilliant! Looking forward to getting back to my french and ballroom dance classes today…also food for body and brain!
Gyps – so good to hear from you and that you are busy and content! Hope the weather is kinder to you than it has been. Hope the little leprechaun in doing well too xxxx
CG- that is serious heat; I’ve never heard of having to close beaches for fear of lightning! Hope it doesn’t ruin your plans with D and GD. Poor you, burning the chicken……just shows how exhausted you were. Hope the sleeping tablet does the trick and gets you back on track again. My weather is the opposite end of the scale….we are having the lowest temps for ages; just barely above freezing during the day and below at night…..brrrrrr! All those dishes you are planning sound so yummy and healthy; you will be keeping in tune with this wol no problem.
Happy fasting to all for the second time this week and let’s all hope for a good weigh-in at the end of the week. 🙂

Sue…… I was reading an article the other day about 5:2. I can’t remember the title, I’ll try to find it so you all can read it; the article bashed 5:2. It talked about starvation mode, binging and more, you know the normal why diets are bad for you crap. I scrolled to the bottom and began to read the comments; the comments told by real people on the 5:2 wol. They began to bash the writer and telling her how wrong she is. Tell her all of the benefits gain when doing 5:2, better portion control, reduced snacking and more. That’s the funny thing about this wol, if you don’t try it, you can never understand or feel the real benefits. It’s just one of those never judge a book by its cover…..

So, I cheated a little this morning and jumped on the scale. Only because I feel lighter and I wanted to know if was just me hoping and having an over active imagination or something that is a real thing. Can you really feel lighter? I’ve never physically picked myself up, so the feeling is actually weird. I’ve never felt this way before. So, it did show a loss…. So, my conclusion…… Feeling light is an actual feeling!

I’m looking forward to another great day, it is a non FD for me but trying to make smart choices and have another successful day of getting all my water in……

    Have a great day ladies!

Evening/morning all. Loved reading all your posts. just logged onto my laptop, such a slog after my little iPad.

I hope I will get it back by the weekend if not sooner. They were non committal re how long they would take. I did all the preliminary work for them, it should take a trained person with the right hardware no more than an hour. Still I suppose they have to spread it out a bit for the $$. I have Apple Care so will not be footing the bill myself.
I have been hungry all day and yesterday afternoon and night. drinking water etc. without my MFP I am just guessing what my intake is but hopefully it is on track.
Talking about grandchildren, I am running mine around during the school holidays whilst their mum is at work and this afternoon I felt like clocking my youngest (who is 13 in April) what a smarty pants. I love her dearly but really I could have crowned her. Refused to put on sunscreen 35 here today then refused to take water in a bag when she went to footy training. Small things but what happened to obeying your elders. I won with the sunscreen but lost with the water. I would never have refused my parents, still wouldn’t. it just bugs me!!!!
Finished my rant. having your D & GD coming to stay sounds wonderful. I would love my youngest to come visit with her daughter. I miss them terribly. Hopefully I will see them over the next month or so. I “may” even look a little slimmer by then too.
I’m trying to remember everyone’s comments, I will be going to watch aqua zumba and then make up my mind. If the class is full of 20 year olds I will give it a miss. Felt pretty good about the water aerobics and think I will continue. I have bad knees and find it hard to walk so I am very envious of you out walking regardless of the weather. I love the cold, it sometimes snows here in the winter and I love it. I cant cope with the heat.
Thank you to all who have mentioned me in their writings, I appreciate you caring enough to comment.
FD tomorrow, boiled eggs, soup, tea, coffee and plenty of water. Good luck everyone and thank you for reading my rant. See this is what happens when you have to wait all day to log onto your computer. Oh BTW I have finished my spring clean. Even cleaned the tops of the kitchen cupboards OH vacuumed and washed the floors 🙂

That’s great Bert, positive thinking always wins out. My doctor suggested I try this 5:2 diet, she said she hadn’t heard a bad word about it from those who gave it a good go.

Bert – starvation mode is a myth especially in terms of the type of fasting on 5:2 but it’s a commonly used scare tactic by those who don’t understand this wol. Stick to your guns and the feelings you have – it is possible to feel lighter…enjoy the feeling! 🙂
Barb – best of luck getting your ipad back asap. I don’t have grandkids myself but I know how trying and contrary youngsters can be. However, I think you won the better battle – sunscreen is so important and I’m sure she regretted not having water herself and will not do that again in a hurry! Also any trainer or coach should be advising the kids to drink water and to take water breaks during the footy session – so maybe she got a telling off there. Keep fighting the good fight!

PH – aka “speedy” – ah, the vacant construction zone racket, isn’t that a bugger though. And indeed, don’t stress the small stuff, just lower the bar when the day calls for it. Maintaining is a terrific goal. So SJ, congrats to you – aside from the flexibility of 5:2 being awesome, it’s important to recognize when plans need to change to fit with our lives. Sometimes I don’t quite get that right (to say the least).
CG wow, a psoriasis diet? And 47 degrees??? I wonder if that chicken didn’t just burn itself. But enjoy having your girls there, I know how precious that time is.
Doggie great to hear Lewis is off in the wood shop w/ your neighbor. Interesting point Up made, about routine, makes a lot of sense. So hard to anticipate what is in another’s mind, esp with ASD. Prayers sent for patience – hope the tacos were a hit.
Fit – enjoy the ballroom dancing today weee! Wear your ninja gown 🙂 And re starvation mode, Simcoe (I think?) explained so well that it doesn’t kick in until 5% body fat, i.e., close to death. Such an excuse though, to bash 5:2.
Bert – indeed, don’t judge a book by its cover (or before you read it!). I feel MUCH lighter, too, whew bread is a total sponge isn’t it?? I almost fainted when the scale went up 4 lbs Monday, but now it’s back down. An interesting mind game – when it was up 4 I thought well better pull out the fat pants, but NO my clothes still fit. Another reason not to let the scale control how I feel. But yay, glad your “feeling light” was confirmed!
Barb, brilliant to have Apple Care. I had my iPad repaired by someone else, and it wasn’t the best job. Rant away re teenagers, what bugs me is when they reject what we say, then turn around and beg for the help they wouldn’t have needed!
Gyps glad you are well – your life sounds busy, hope it’s exciting (in a good way). Sorry if I missed anyone – big hugs – must get back to work – xxx

Morning all, I’ve done it..broken the 98.1 I have been on since 16h December. Weighed in today after two fast days this week and scales showed 97.6 so a .5kg loss.🎉🎉👏👏🤗🤗☹️🎉🎉..Can’t believe that result after the weekend I had with the tennis and BBQDay. I have set myself a mini goal of getting to 95 for the WTF reunion and know if I do not get there in the next month I will not do it….so have decided to press on with the 3FD week and fast again on Friday to be sure, to be sure I have broken the plateau..and weigh myself again on Saturday….that is of course if plans stay the way they are for Friday. You never know what might happen.

Fit. The picture of you, in my mind , brushing up your ninja moves made me laugh out loud..so good😂😂😂
And yes it is good to get back to things we enjoy..so good luck with the French and dancing classes today. You have been practicing dancing with your sister so that should be ok. 💃💃💃Have you been practicing French?

Bertt. My doctor is very impressed with my progress since starting 5.2 he is monitoring my very closely once a month and has now decided to tell my story to other patients who can’t lose weight, depending on their condition of course.not good for diabetics. He has also done the research on the benefits of fasting also so has a very open mind. Lovely man. People still tell me that it is not good to skip breakfast. However my reply to them is that I have never felt better in my life and feel confident, for the first time in my constant dieting life , that once the weight comes off this time it will stay off ….due to the changes in eating habits that have now become second nature.
Great you are experiencing the “feeling lighter” feeling..it is real and well done with you loss. 👏👏🎉🎉🤗🤗You really are doing well with this program. Keep up the great work. 💖💖💖

Barb. Your doctor sounds great. open to new ideas..she is a woman though so no surprises there…well done finishing your spring cleaning..what a gal👏👏.
I too have apple care and would. It be without it. I call them for all sorts of advice as well as problems. My kids convinced me to change to Macs after using PC’s all my working life. So lots of questions for apple care.
Know the feeling about kids saying no to parents.would never have been game to do it in our day.. Would have thought about it and decided it would be easier to just take the bottle of water and still be let go where I was going. Refuse and you would have stayed home…..However would not have even considered saying no to grandma..and would have done what she said no matter what. Change of parenting styles I guess but frustrating sometimes to us oldies so rant all you want. 💜💜💜 pleased you like aquarobics..very gentle on the body whilst still being good exercise.

Jade..love your posts..hope you are having a good nights sleep.

Better get going or I will be late for Bridge. Then meeting D and her friends for lunch..💖💜🌯☕️🌮☕️♠️♣️♥️♦️

Just peeked in for a break at work, and well worth it! CONGRATS PH on blasting through the plateau!!!! The best my computer can do for emojis is 🙂 🙂 :)!!!! But what a wonderful feeling – like we can move mountains – lol bit by bit, day by day. XXXX

Bert, if it is the one on the ABC website, it has been up 3 times but is now closed for comments. If it is, you will see that I am one of the commentors and that I updated my own comment.!

    http://www.abc.net.au/health/features/stories/2015/04/07/4211764.htm

Good morning/evening team…..oh I slept so well and the weather change is wonderful, it’s rained over night and the humidity has gone and the air feels fresh😄
So many fabulous posts, PH I’m so pleased for you, scales should never control our lives, but what a thrill when they move in a downward direction, our whole outlook alters and we just can’t wipe that smile of our faces, as if hiding a secret, congratulations.
Doctors are not Gods, although some think they are. Unless something has been proved by so many and has been documented and published and it’s all non English vocabulary that us normal people don’t understand, they just don’t seem satisfied. The proof of so many who have lost so much weight and the health improvements are ignored! Bottom line….go with what suits you ☺️ We are not starving ourselves, 500cals on fast days is not actual fasting, fasting really means eating nothing for extended periods, we all eat well, we are all conscious of the healthy foods, and we all feel great, again, go with what works for you. No one is getting wealthy by this way of life either, we have no outlay, woohoo….and it works 😀
Barb you are holding your own so well done, and with kids these day, respect for their elders is a thing of the past. As stated, I would no sooner disobey my parents than fly. Especially my Dad. Even our school teachers were shown respect and obeyed. Now I was at secondary school on the early 60’s, The Beatles era when the world was changing, teenagers were controlling fashion and music, but respect for authority was always adhered to. I think it all started with “laws” of not smacking a child…..no one condones bashing of course, but a smaked hand or bum only makes the point of who is boss, who is looking out for your safety…..who knows better…….so control was taken from parents, then teachers (I remembers the boys getting the strap at school) and then it follows through to police and work bosses….no respect, no inner fear, even bosses can’t sack people as easy as in the past, but the dole is always there for the bludgers anyway…Oh the world has changed, and not always for the better. Manners seemed to be a thing of the past too….it’s a shame and it’s sad……
    Rant over 😀
No time to reply to everyone, sorry, busy day ahead and lots of cooking to be done….and tidy up as we do when visitors are expected, even family……73.8k this morning, so sailing along smoothly, have a positive day team, see the beauty in everything and the positive in every situation 😉💕 xxxxxxxx

Hi all! Well I had bad day in work yest n only had 1 egg protein bar n 1/2 bottle o red wine as over worked , overtired and stressed ( nurse!) .feelin bit yuk this morn after late nite wine but am gonna do fast day as planned today . wish me luck!!!

    Hi everyone!
Today is a NFD for me, and successfully staying at my TDEE for the last two days. I weigh in tomorrow officially and I can honestly say for the first time EVER, I’m totally excited! Oh my and three days of getting all my water in! Thank you to everyone who has help keep my spirits high and encouragement to keep going when I stumbled.
Fit….. I so agree with the myth of starvation mode. I’m sorry but with no scientific proof, I’m gonna tend not to believe something like that. I also think starvation mode came into play when one diet want to win out over another. I’m sure if that was true, there would be a heck of a lot of dieters starving to death.
Up…. Unfortunately, that was not the article…. But I’m glad to see there are people who are willing to stand up for this new wol. I’m gonna read the article as soon as I’m finished here.
Well, ladies, my timer for dinner just rang so I shall be off. For those I missed, I wish you a peaceful evening!

Morning all a cool morning here but going to be 30 so a lovely sunny day. FD for some of us and not others – we’re a mixed bunch these days. Had my coffee with a splash of milk & now water water water or maybe some teas.
CG you’re doing well down at 73.8 wonderful girl! If I don’t hurry up you’re going to catch up to me. Let’s see what today’s fast can do for me. Have a busy but enjoyable day & look forward to wonderful times together. I remember when D came down for Christmas last year it was a nightmare when she told me that her OH & oldest were now vegetarian (that didn’t last long!), no 2 was gluten free & she was on the auto immune paleo diet – which may be what your D’s on (pretty hard core). I opted for salads so they could pick & choose & cooked her something separate!
WB good on you for sticking to you guns while feeling yuk. YOU can and WILL do it. You’re quite used to the routine by now. But cos you didn’t eat much yesterday make sure you have some vegie nibbles or something at the ready if hunger hits you. Keep up the fluids too as you’ll be feeling a bit dehydrated probably.
PH congrats on your .5kg loss already AND you’re opting for another FD too!! You’re going to smash that plateau to bits. What a great Dr you have PH being soo approving & encouraging with 5:2. That’s really helpful for you.
Jade along with everyone else…….love your posts. Always such fun! And the idea we’re developing of Fit with her ninja moves & now the ninja gown is a hoot!!!
Barb you’ve finished your marathon spring clean…well done!! But now I see you’ve moved on to the kitchen. It might never end!!
Bert feeling lighter…and proving it…..even better!!!
FIt you’re right it IS possible to have lunch out and not overdo it. But that’s NOT what I did…least said the better. That’s what happens when not in the right headspace. But all set for a good FD today. Hey if you keep up with those ninja moves Fit you mightn’t need 5:2?!
Gyps great to have you chiming in again & to hear that you’re totally engrossed with whatever secret business it is you’re doing???!!! And sticking with fasts too.

Well onto another FD for many of us. Let’s make it a great one. Stay out of the fridge or the pantry unless you know exactly what it is you’re looking for! Then you’ll stay on track & on plan & have a successful motivating day. sj XXXX

Bert – I’m thrilled to hear you are so pleased with how things are going for you in this wol.Best of luck with the weigh-in. Didn’t go so well today with my TDEE; a friend called in for coffee and cake, then my daughter arrived home for a couple of hours from her apartment for a quick visit so more goodies! I hurt my back earlier in the day and had been feeling sorry for myself so my will-power was non existent. Never mind, I will put in a very good fast tomorrow and hope the scales are kind on Friday.
WB – we’ve all been there so don’t put even more stress on yourself. Best of luck with your fast – you can do this!
CG – so glad to hear that the weather has turned more favourable and also that you had such a good night’s sleep at last. ‘Doctors differ and patients die’ is the old saying; there are as many opinions as stars in the sky. But I like the science of 5:2 and I trust the methods and results shown on the Dr. Mosley programmes. I think the problem of removing corporal punishment in schools was that no other system was put in place and teachers were left struggling to come up with alternatives. I have to say I never agreed with smacking and I never used it on my girls but they certainly never gave me, or any other adult, cheek. I think it’s important for all children to learn that violence solves nothing, so maybe when they grow up there will be a better chance of having peace in the world. Sorry, I’ll get off my soapbox now!!
PH – glad I gave you a laugh! Brilliant news from the scales…woohoo!! 🙂 🙂 You’ll be whatever you want to be by the time of the WTF reunion – I have complete faith in you!
Jade – I’m hoping my scales will be as forgiving as yours!! I had great fun at the dancing but my back wasn’t the best so we left a bit early. Also both my sister and I had sore feet, we reckon we have worn the soles of our shoes too thin so we had “great balls of fire’!! 😉
Hoping everyone is strong and determined to finish off the week on a good note. Xxxx

Hey there SJ! Our posts crossed! Think I’ll have to put my ninja moves on hold until the back is better!! Not sure what a ninja gown looks like but maybe you or PH could run one up for me?! Look after your head and the rest will follow! Sounds like you are getting into a better place already so keep your chin up and be proud of how you are coping. Xxxx

Hi team. I’d like to add my voice to those who support the 5:2 diet or way of eating. It does work. The human body can actually live with very little food intake for a long time. It’s water or fluids that we can’t do without. Just think back to those unbelievable photos of the survivors of the Nazi concentration camps. Diets are a big business and most are in it to make money, not to care if we lose weight or stay healthy.
I’m afraid that things here on the grandson front have not improved. He has become disobedient and totally ignores us or refuses to do anything that he does not want to. Our daughter has realised that it’s become too difficult for us so has manged to change his flight to an earlier date. Unfortunately she could not get anything before Monday so we’ll just have to cope the best we can.
I’m also having a FD today. So far had two boiled eggs for breakfast. Will have a small portion of fish for lunch and then fish again with salads for supper.
Jade I sat and watched a programme about the Ku Klux Klan last night. I was quite gobsmacked to see that they are still alive and kicking. I thought they’d been disbanded decades ago. Being an ex South Afrcan I’m only too aware of racist attitudes. I find it the hight of arrogance to consider oneself to be superior because of the colour of one’s skin. I just happen to be born white but that does not in any way make me better or superior to those who are not. Unfortunately many do not agree with my left wing attitude. Too bad I’m afraid.

Dawg – so sorry to hear that Lewis has not settled for you. I hope the rest of his stay is a bit easier. I’m totally with you on the attitude to rascism; it’s despicable…..likewise, sexism, ageism, snobbery, homophobia and intolerance. Gosh, I’ll really have to stop preaching; what’s got into me today?

Doggie and Fit, the white supremacy movement has been emboldened by outrageous political rhetoric designed to appeal to racism. I’m not naive, I know that racism has been alive and well forever, but until recently it was not something paraded in public as some kind of weird religious patriotism. As a logician, I’m amazed to see these opinions made public, proudly, and without any logical support. Wait, you think you’re better because you’re Christian, or white, or hetero? Um…why? Aren’t you ashamed of being such a bigot? But certain politicians seem to have just one tactic, to be shocking. And of course they have to outdo the previous day’s shocking comment to stay in the news. We need a gigantic dose of human kindness and empathy over here. Some logic wouldn’t hurt either. Or Karma.
Speaking of empathy, Doggie I’m so sorry about things with L. I know it must make the days last forever, and you’re doing everything you can, but there just is no solution sometimes. Hang in there – sending you virtual hugs and peace.
Congrats to everyone else for fighting the good 5:2 fight! Or for living their lives and not obsessing about it. I have managed not to unhinge my jaws for the THIRD DAY IN A ROW. Pretty good streak.
I’m trying that photo bucket thing so here’s a test, my vision of Fit as a ballroom ninja (oops trying again):
     photo ninja2_zpsmle3prmn.jpg

    Cheers all – jade xx

All these wonderful, thoughtful opinions and such brilliant input, doesn’t that show how well your brain is working. So often people sit back and say nothing, weather we agree with each other does not matter, YOU have an opinion, YOU have a voice……well done team 🤗
Doggy I’m sorry to hear things are going sour with Lewis, but being home is his comfort zone, and for you, having YOUR life back is YOUR comfort zone, you have given your daughter some ME time so don’t be hard on yourself, you and o/h have done your best and that’s all anyone can ask of you😉 and it would not be an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. You want your thoughts and memory to be kind and loving of Lewis, so parting is probably the best thing, and you’ll know in future, that it’s just too much…..we all get past things Doggy so no harm done 😊
Well, I should have family down more often, I can’t believe how much I have been able to tidy…or should I say hide 😏……most of the cooking done, the risotto I’ll do on Saturday night when we’ll eat it, I had “Robby”…I call him, my robot vac going around the house, although, constantly having to unhinge him when he gets stuck on something, but ready for a relaxing visit 😃
Sj, yes It is a gluten free type diet she is following, and I doubt Teegz will drop the vegetarian way of eating, she’s pretty tuned in and not one for fads, but never is a very powerful word so we’ll see 🙄…..
Have a great day, smell the roses, take ME time, even if only half an hour, we all have our cars serviced or tuned up….what about you?😳….💝 xxxxxxxxx

Oh wow Jade, I love that pic, and yes, that would be perfect for Fit 😃 also totally agree with all you say, America is the most powerful country but has so much to answer for, it never seems to clean up it’s own back yard does it? It shouldn’t matter if we are red, white, blue or brindle, we are human, we are all God’s children, power is so often put in the wrong hands 😏…xxxxx

Oh Jade I LOVE it!!! So perfect for our Fit for dancing. And she can also wear it at home while she’s doing her ninja moves sneaking in to steal the computer. Then OH won’t even recognise her anyway. BUT he might call the local coppers though!
CG you been one busy lady. Gee I thought it was bad enough having all those different diets to cater for just for one day – you’re doing it for several. You’re a legend!!
Doggie just do the best you can for the next few days & give him choices/options & try to keep his routines the same – as much as you can. Been there done that with integration with ASD kids & it’s tough. I remember one lovely young man (11 at the time) who I took on a bus trip into town to develop various social/life skills. I tried to expose him to a change in routine by going back on a different bus. Man oh man….did I regret that one big time!!! We did get home eventually. sj XXXX

Thanks so much my dear fellow ADs. It means a lot to me to have your support and sensible input. I think it is actually my poor hubby who is feeling more of a failure than I am. I’ve told him that we’ve done our level best but it’s now time to send him back home before one of us does something we will live to regret. Of course we all know that us women are better at sharing our ups and downs with each other. He’s decided that should the need arise in the future, he will go to Melbourne and look after Lew in his own surroundings. He’ll also have the parental backup at the end of the day.
Jade I’m so glad you did not take offence at my comments. Of course I know that all Amricans are not right wing, bible punching bigots. I’m afraid that with so many religions and so many of their followers thinking that ” their ” God is the right one, it’s hard to see how we will ever be able to live peacefully.
Well my FD is more or less on track. I bought a BBQ chook for OH & Lew to have for supper. While I was cutting it up I gave into temptation and had a slither or two myself. So what if I’m a few calories over 500. We can be flexible doing this way of eating. I must admit to looking forward to tomorrow when I can have a glass or two of liquid tranquillisers in the way of some Sav Blanc. I WILL WAIT TILL TOMORROW !
    XX Doggy

My. A day full of great posts since I looked in this morning. Had the full day out today. Bridge then lunch with friends then on to the pool with daughter and her friends and babies. Lots of cuddles and the hats fitted perfectly. Absolutely wacked when I got home so resting now.

WB. Hang in their girl..your can do this you just need to get organised and have food with you so you can grab a good snack whenever you have a break..even a small one so yesterday does not keep happening…And prepare something to eat on your days off to have in the fridge/or freezer to pop in the microwave when you get home after a really busy day…if you are stressed still have it with a wine if you need to but. ……You have to start looking after yourself..you are not making it easy for yourself trying to have a fast day after the day you had yesterday. Especially if you don’t feel well to start with so good luck and if you can Do this FD then you are a legend . We are all here to support you..we know you can do this 💕💕💕
SJ. Hope you are having a very successful FD today…smash it girl💕💕💜💜💕

As expected you are all organised for your family CG. I also try to eat Gluten free wherever possible as I tend to feel bloated after I eat wheat. Find I am not missing out by not eating bread. Mountain Bread make all sorts of gluten free wraps that I just love and they are just as easy for picnics as bread. Enjoy your very special visit.👩‍👩‍👧👩‍👩‍👦… and yes I am lucky to have such a great doctor. Well done with the 73.8 👏👏👏👏

Jade..what a great picture of FIT the Ninja. Very spunky..all bet OH will get off the computer once he takes a look at our FIT in that getup. Well done with your lack of unhinging your jaws too. See you are really getting good at this. 😇😇😇

Doggy. I join with the others in saying…you can only do what you can do..be proud of what you have achieved. Your oH,s suggestion for next time you are needed to look after Lewis is worth a try. He will almost certainly be more comfortable I. His own surroundings. Meanwhile..hang in there…Also good on your Daughter for realising that it is not working. You have a great family there. 💖

UP. Well done on up your comments on the ABC site. Just read it.

Bert. Well done with sticking to your TDDE for the last few days and good luck tonight with your weigh-in..

Fit. What a bummer about your back. Look after it and try not do too much for a few days. Good luck with your Fast Day..hope you stayed strong. Watch out for OH when he sees you in that Ninja outfit designed by Jade..

I’m a bit of 2 bob each way on the smacking thing. I think a little tap on the bum does not hurt sometimes in certain situations when they are little and you have tried all the distractions you can think of ..or a little tap on the hand when they touch something that will hurt the……when they reach the age of reason then there have consequences that are completely followed through with. If you say something it has to be carried out or else……I think that kids today get away with murder because parents do not spend the time early on setting boundaries and making sure they are adhered to. Everyone too busy and guilty that they are working…your time is the best thing you can give….even if you cannot afford that second car or that nice big house..it is only for a few years…everyone wants everything NOW.

While I’m at it I should say I agree with everyone about racism..what we did and are still doing to our aboriginal population was and is terrible. The government should have a lot more targeted programs that support getting better health outcomes , education and training even if these programs are not profitable they give people self respect..Would only cost the same as if not less than paying the dole..just requires effort and foresight. Sorry I’ll get off my soapbox now📢📢. I have first hand knowledge of programs that have stopped being funded because two of my children have worked in Remote aboriginal communities at times over the last 10 years.
    .

    Hi all!

Went well on my fast day today..amazed myself though didn’t do the hour of exercise and lots of water thing I said I was gonna do the day before weigh day!! Oh well never mind!! Good luck to everyone for weigh day tomorrow. I’m hoping for a loss..I think my boobs have lost some!! Off to bed soon so I don’t eat anything else!!

😇😇😇🎉🎉🎉🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏Well done WB. You are a legend

Yes PH had a very successful FD and finished at roughly 450 cals. Did what I have planned to do like FOREVER! I cut up lots of vegies and put them in a container right smack bang at the front of the fridge. So several times when I was thinking about what I could have I just grabbed the container & ate some. As I said never been a vegie snacker so quite a revelation that I enjoyed the lightness of it all & was happy with 3/4 sticks of whatever each time – and doesn’t add up to much in the end!
WB if you’re like me the boobs will lose lots pretty quick. Well done!!
PH so glad the hats all fitted…well done you!! You’re a legend.
All the best for everyone if you’re weighing in tomorrow. WE DID IT!! CG have a great trip if you’re leaving tomorrow morning. ENJOY 🙂 SJ XXXX

I think we’re all of like minds here – and so much empathy, no wonder it’s a kind-hearted group. If only the powerful would always stop to think “what if I were treated that way.” Have worked for several smart people who thought good health was earned, nothing to do with genetics etc., such that the sick were really just a bit lazy. Then if/when it strikes them or their family they finally understand. Bless those who understand without personal experience. OK PH I need that bullhorn emoji!! And thanks for your sage advice, for Wobbly but perfect for us all. And what you said for Doggie, yes that is quite a loving family, thinking of others and what a nice way to look at the whole situation. Glad you had a great day with your own fam and so pleased that the little hats fit! CG hope you are having a great time with your family and your sparkling clean house! I really need to do the same, in my unceasing efforts to find my mom’s earring if nothing else.
Bert lol re “starvation mode” – indeed if that myth were true we’d all have died a long time ago 🙂
SJ congrats on your FD and thanks for the reminder, I need to go fix those carrots sticks NOW. I didn’t quite nail the FD yesterday so I’ll go for my second today. Wasn’t feeling it, as we say. And how many times do I open the fridge door just out of habit, then close it oh so sadly — or worse, don’t close it 🙂

Fit I hope your back is OK? It’s a rare day not to find you already here. I wonder which of the two outfits I tried to post you ended up with 🙂 The first was rather too wicked when PhotoBucket blew it up so large – I think the model was carrying pitchforks or something, so I substituted the black-gowned Ninja. I’m sure you’d look smashing in either one!
Have to get back to work again – I’m getting too old for this. But from what you all say, life gets even busier after retirement. Better stay employed 🙂 xxx

    Hi All!
Very slow ninja moves today due to tender back but I’m absolutely loving the gown….thanks Jade!! If I looked like that I wouldn’t need 5:2 – but then I wouldn’t have met you lot, so I’m perfectly happy to be a less slender or stealthy ninja!! 😉 I’m taking things very easy today and have spent much of the day lying on the couch reading. I did try to take the dog for a walk this morning but the road was so icy and the dog was pulling me along at such a rate, that I reckoned I would soon be flat on my backside, so sadly had to turn around and go home 🙁 It is hard to believe that anyone can speak in such outrageous terms about people of a certain culture or belief – can that not be classes as incitement to hatred? It is certainly a crime in my book.
SJ – you’re rocking this wol of life with your veggie nibbles and successful fasts; well done!
WB – looks like you’re going to have alot less wobbly bits!!! 🙂
PH – delighted to hear that you had such a lovely day and that the hats fitted perfectly – no surprise there with your skill, but still great to see I’m sure. When I was in OZ I was very interested to see and hear all about aboriginal history. It’s very sad to see the long-term effects of the awful treatment they received. When we went to Uluru, it was terrible to see that people still tried to climb it, even though they had been asked to respect the native culture and beliefs and not climb it….unbelieveable!
Dawg – that sounds like a very sensible and workable compromise to offer to look after Lewis in future on his home ground. You and OH are clearly wonderful parents and grandparents but you also have a right not to be put under too much stress. Have a very large sav when the time comes; you deserve it xxx
CG – I hope you are having a great time with your gorgeous girls and that they appreciate all the trouble you have gone to with cleaning and food preparation. Enjoy it all and build some more precious memories xxx

Hi all from a lovely and cool Tanilba Bay, Port Stephens. Yesterday was a shocker, 43 c on our patio! The storm finally hit at about 6 pm, then the electricity went off about 8 pm and we ended up going to bed early. The cool change was glorious and we have woken up to a wonderful coolness. The heat makes you appreciate the cool changes we get.
Lovely to read all your posts again. I have been slack and not commenting on individual posts but I appreciate them all. For those of you going on the WTF get together, keep safe as you travel and have a wonderful time. I look forward to reading all about it and seeing photos too.
My FD today. Had my first cup of tea, my favourite, Lady Grey with a splash of milk. Line dancing resumes this morning and I shall enjoy the exercise and fun.

Good morning team, so many posts but no time to reply to each. The girls are still asleep so making a quick scan and post. The picnic is off today, it’s turned so cold, hard to believe, but certainly not picnic weather. So off to Wonthaggi, a large country town, for some shopping and lunch. My daughter is such a shopaholic, but great for them in a new/different place. They will be going around lunch time tomorrow, as she said, still all her grocery shopping to do as well as the week end house work, but gee it’s lovely having them.
It’s wonderful to read you are all going so well with your fasting, and sj, great idea regarding the cut up veggies for snacks, not just for the ones still working 😃
Golly, another actor, Alan Rickman has died, seems to be a run of them, he was a loveable villain…..And now, another bombing ….in Jakarta, why are these fanatics so against peace?
WH, hang in there, as we say, if the mind set is not in place, or life gets in the way, it’s pointless trying to fast, leave it for another day, that’s the flexibility of 5;2, and YOU CAN DO IT…….
There is a warning of smoke, which they think is wafting over from Tasmania and planned burns, and Tidal River is getting it badly, so our planned day there wasn’t meant to happen, but when we are together, we will have fun and enjoy the day out together anyway. My daughter has hurt her back somehow, so a lazy day should be in order for her, so a bit of pottering around the country shops, and op shops, then a lovely lunch at the Workman’s Club, similar to an RSL 😃
I might try to get my third fast in tomorrow, depending what time they go, but not fussed, still holding steady, but yes, would be happy to drop a few more K’s, just to try to get rid of this retched roll around the tummy. A lot of it just seems like loose skin!
Have a happy day team, no matter what you do, 5:2 and AUSSIE DETERMINATION always has your back, so you are conscious of your food choices and portion control, even when you are not always aware of it….😃💝 xxxxxxx
    “I’m going to stand outside
    So if anyone asks
    I’m outstanding” 😉 xxxxxxx

Mornin CG! I’m sure you’ll still have a great time with ur girls. Shopping and lunch sounds perfect xx
Hi noots. Gd to see ur getting on well. Enjoy de line dancing. How’s ur thumb?

Hi Fit, shame about the sore feet, but you’ll be back trotting the boards as well as in the padt ☺️ it’s lovely to have a “hobby” you love thats also great exercise, but a fun time to spend with your sister. And yes, would like to see a pic in your ninja outfit!😉

Doggy, that sounds a great idea, offering to go to Melbourne if needed in the future, the home base is always safer with anyone with conditions such as Lewis, even dementia, but totally understand the reasoning behind thinking he’d love it with you 😃xxxxx

Noots line dancing is fun exercise, so it’s a win win for you. Just saw the storms you had on the morning news, we really need to wonder what IS happening with our weather. We have gone from 45 to 19, it’s even cold enough to have the heater on this morning, definitely something going wrong with the climate world wide, it’s a worry, I just hope the powers that be, fuel makers etc, can come up with a user friendly solution before it’s too late. They can make cars go on so many nature friendly fuels but….no money in that is there! It all still boils down to greed……xxxxxx

Good morning/evening all. Yes my beloved iPad is back. I was given a replacement so spent last night reloading all my apps etc, sadly my backup didn’t work so I lost a lot things including photos I had taken at Christmas.
Anyway a lot of posts over the past 24 hours. Hats, grandchildren, sore bodies, good ideas and great stories. Loved them all but far too many to comment on. Had my second FD yesterday, must admit without chatting with you all during the day it made it pretty lonely fast. I felt hungry but keep to my guns. The first week I lost 2.4kg, this week I have lost exactly another kilo 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 this is just great. 84.1kg I am stoked.
I love your saying CG, I will use it many times. That’s what I think 5:2 is “outstanding”
Cold here today too 12 deg at the moment 8:53am expecting 20 but I’m not hanging out for it. Nice though after the heat.
Have a great day/evening everyone and thanks again for the wonderful support.

    Hi all,
Well another FD down yesterday. I started by just having one boiled egg which is not my norm. I usually have a good breakfast but we were going to spend the day with our daughter and grandson. I knew we would probably be out for lunch and had planned just to have a salad and then fish for dinner. It did not work out that way. We headed to IKEA in Springvale around 12:30 and by the time we had looked and collected everything it was 4 pm. Between us we had lots to get. OH and I were shopping for an outdoor setting and daughter for kitchen table, chairs, bench stools, high chair and bits and pieces. We got back to daughter’s home around 5 and realised none of us had eaten! Decided to stay for dinner and son in law made a lovely beef stir fry. I don’t think I came anywhere near my 500 cals so I had a couple of FINNS original crispbreads with 25 g of cheese with my black tea for supper. I seem to fast for about 10 hours each time I do it and am comfortable with that.

CG – I have noted that Millenium Trilogy as I think I would like it. I have just read my first Harlan Coben book and will certainly be reading more. I am at our library once a week getting either books or DVD’s.
I had a bad night on the 12th and I too only slept 3.5 hrs. Must be the magic figure. It got to 43 that day but I don’t usually have trouble sleeping if it is hot. Used to that when we were in Qld. Just was not tired.

PH – Woohoo, well done on cracking the 98. I know the road you are talking about well. I have been going to Camp Creative in Bellingen since 2005, driving from Brisbane. My husband taught a course there too. We didn’t go last year because we were overseas for the months of Dec and January and this year there was just nothing I wanted to do. No beading type stuff. Three of us beaders plus OH used to hire a house for 8 days. We ladies were disappointed and one asked if we could do Camp Warburton instead and is coming down here for a week. She is arriving on the 24th and we have lots of beady projects planned.

Noots – you will be able to show that dietitian how well you have done and maybe he/she will consider looking into it.

I try to stick to 1200 cals a day on my non FD days and eat healthily. I often come in one or two hundred under that. Sometimes OH and I will walk to the village for coffee and we share a wee treat, maybe a yummy slice or wedge of pecan pie etc. The owner knows us well, cuts it in half and serves it on 2 plates.
I weighed in this morning at 70.4 so that is a kilo off this week.
Today my OH is going to the Big Smoke for lunch. All the way from Warburton to Flemington just to go to Laksa King. Dropping names now to say he is having lunch with Russell Morris and some other musicians.
Today I am going to a craft day from 10 to 2 pm and then am wandering along to the Warburton Cinema to see In The Heart Of The Sea. My daughter reminded me I could have a wee treat and I think I will just do that. Maybe an ice cream or some popcorn.
I am sitting at the dining room table looking out over the mountain and thinking how lucky I am to have found this thread. Thanks to you all for “being” there to give encouragement. Have a great day.
